Abstract:
The purpose To reveal the essence of the phenomenon of "overtourism" and its manifestations in the logistics of urban tourism. The methodology is based on the use of a basic logistic model of sustainable development of tourism and its varieties: principal, wide-spread and strategic. The conceptual bases of the logistic strategy of sustainable development of urban tourism in the conditions of " overtourism " are worked out, in particular the concept of tourist decentralization, the concept of reversible logistics, the concept of the impact of marketing on logistics and the concept of increasing requirements to the safety of tourists. Scientific novelty for the first time considered the application of logistics of urban tourism in the conditions of "overtourism" and worked out the conceptual foundations of the corresponding logistic strategy. Results 1. The basic logistic model of sustainable tourism development and its varieties and strategies of sustainable tourism has been developed. 2.The logistic strategy of sustainable tourism development under the conditions of "overtourism" and its conceptual bases in the form of the concept of tourist decentralization, the concept of reverse logistics, the concept of the impact of marketing on logistics, and the concept of increasing the requirements for security problems of tourism have been worked out. Abstract:
It is clearly known that urban freight transportation has a significant role on sustainable development of urban areas. The persistent growth of the costs of freight transportation and as a result of congestion, environmental pollution and increasing inefficient usage of land in urban areas are forcing users and public authorities to develop alternative logistic solutions to relieve the freight traffic problem. Establishing logistics centers is one of these alternative solutions. Logistics centers are specific centers that various logistic based activities like distribution, storage, transportation, consolidation, handling, customs clearance, imports, exports, transit processes, infrastructural services, insurance, banking and similar commercial activities are performed. These centers are defined for national and international all logistic and related operations. Logistic centers must be settled near production and commercial centers, highways, railways, airports and if possible seaports. In this study we proposed a fuzzy TOPSIS approach to a logistics center location selection problem in eastern anatolia region of Turkey.

Abstract:
Regional logistic networks and linking urban clusters to boost high quality economic development are both key topics in sustainable development in China. In recent years, China has highlighted the significance of the logistics industry and urban cluster development, attaching practical importance to the connections between these two topics from a spatial perspective. This paper aims to discuss how regional logistic networks linking urban clusters improve economic development. This study constructs a logistic evaluation indicator system based on the multi-indicator data of 11 cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in 2020. This research employs the entropy-weighted-TOPSIS method to measure and rank the comprehensive logistics quality of each city in the economically linked logistic network of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This study applies the modified gravity model to explore the logistics linkage and logistic network characteristics of each city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Finally, this research analyzes how the agglomeration ability of the central cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area affects other cities from a spatial perspective. Furthermore, this spatial perspective investigates the agglomeration effect of the economic linkage logistic network through the social network analysis method. The results have the following three implications. (1) The logistic network has a high density, a stable overall structure with a strong agglomeration effect, and there is an increasingly mature logistic network development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in the Bay Area. (2) Agglomeration is significant in the central cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area including Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Macao. Nonetheless, insufficient peripheral cities have been cultivated. Therefore, the government should focus on strengthening the balance of urban development in the bay area and improving the logistics access among cities to break through the barriers of regional synergistic development. (3) The economic development of cities is highly correlated with the level of logistics links. Additionally, the economy is the cornerstone to promoting the high-quality development of the logistics industry. Moreover, the economy and logistics are inseparable, mutually promoted, and developed together.

Abstract:
The article considers the goals of creation and success factors of the UDC, their location problems, presents the algorithm for determining the logistic sustainability index (LSI), which affects the integrated development of logistics of the study area of the UDC. Facilities – urban distribution centers. The purpose of the work is to analyze general information on the goals of creation and success factors of the UDCs, problems in finding their location, as well as consideration of the process of evaluating the logistics sustainability index. Research methods – the method of analysis of hierarchies, the method of weighted sum. LSI is an integrated tool that can quantify the overall efficiency of a logistics system according to different criteria and different points of view. Thus, the LSI can jointly assess one or more areas of impact on the UDC allocation and becomes useful when a comparison between the current situation and a potential scenario is required, or when two potential scenarios need to be compared by impact area (eg energy consumption, pollutant emissions). Abstract:
This paper presents effective and efficient solutions for components of urban logistics. The specificity of such logistics and the multiple limitations led to particular solutions. However, they all share one common feature—the flow consolidation in different variants. This study considers the flow consolidation at the boundary of urban congested areas, through horizontal collaboration between logistic platforms. This way, the urban distribution centers (UDCs) receive all the goods according to the orders addressed to each producer (or group in case of “on-going consolidations”). Deliveries are addressed to a single logistic platform. Thus, the flow consolidation is achieved. Each logistic platform receives part of the consumer goods intended for commercialization, but through collaboration between them (freight exchanges), all the warehouses of the producers have all the ordered goods. Dedicated management of logistics platforms and warehouses within each UDC ensures the confidentiality of distributor data. Three scenarios are presented concerning the same pattern of flow addressed to each UDC. These scenarios differ by the accessibility of the logistics platforms and by the connection between them (due to infrastructure development). The methodology of choosing the variants for composing the flow sent from each logistics platform considered the minimization of transfer times to UDC warehouses. Synthetic indicators allow for comparison between the analyzed scenarios.

Abstract:
In the last decade, logistic systems based on small aerial vehicles (drones) have become attractive for urban delivery operations as a sustainable alternative to ground vehicles because they are not affected by the congestion of the road network, thus allowing for faster and more reliable services. Aerial logistic systems, however, require a substantially different approach to operations management and need specifically designed supportive infrastructures. While the research on urban aerial delivery mostly focuses on the optimization vehicle operations, the appropriate design of supportive infrastructures is seldom considered. This paper focuses on the energy efficiency of aerial logistic systems, and proposes a new original methodology to obtain a realistic estimate of the overall energy consumed by a swarm of drones employed for urban delivery, taking into account the extension of the area served and its specific features. The methodology proposed offers relevant information for the decision problems related to the appropriate sizing of the infrastructures, the dimensioning of the swarm of drones and the capacity of the energy storage system. The paper also reports a comparison with ground vehicles in the same scenarios, showing the relevant tradeoffs. The results obtained demonstrate how an appropriate design of the supportive infrastructures for urban aerial logistics may significantly impact the overall efficiency of the delivery system.

Abstract:
Urban form can be described with fractal dimension, which is a measurement of space filling of urban evolution. However, how to model and understand the fractal dimension growth of urban morphology are still pending questions. This paper is devoted to the research on the fractal dimension curves of urban growth. The principle of squashing function and empirical evidences are employed to demonstrate the following inference: the fractal dimension time series of a city’s spatial form take on a sigmoid curve. Among various sigmoid functions, the logistic function is the most probable selection. The observational data of fractal dimension of different cities from different sources support this logic judgment. A further discovery is that the fractal dimension curves of cities in the developed countries differ from those in the developing countries. A generalized logistic function is thus proposed to model the fractal dimension curves of different types of cities. The general logistic models can be used to predict the missing values and estimate the growth rates of fractal dimension of city development. Moreover, these models can be utilized to analyze when and where there is a fractal of urban form.

Abstract:
The irregularities of evolutionary development, continuous improvement of environmental component into transport and raise many unsolved problem in the fields of transport in logistics systems and material flows management. The city parameters analyses had highlighted connections with transport services technology. Also the distribution stage of the logistic chain, which consists of following market participants: incoming material flow, retailers and Transportation Company (carrier) in different cities has been considered. Transportation service is made by road transport. The paper compares results of transportation servicing in different cities and logistic chains with same technology. As performance indicator net present value has been used. Existing criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of distribution of material flows does not sufficiently take into account the time value of money and possible options for investment, so when estimating the performance of servicing of business investment indicators should be used. Paper should elucidate the impact of cities on the transport service efficacy. Practical suggestions on logistics system functioning and transportation service of retailers in urban area have been proposed. Obtained results discovered overall impact of city’s parameters (density of streets and roads network’ irregularity factor; automobilizationlevel; urban square; scheme of road network; city radius) on logistics according to model which include more than 50 parameters and allows finding regularities of changing logistics efficiency on them.

Abstract:
Improving urban mobility is crucial to the sustainable development of a city. Well-managed movement of individuals, goods, and services is essential to increase citizens’ welfare, not only by reducing travel times and congestion levels, but also by minimizing air pollution, noise, accidents, etc. To achieve the desired results, the objectives and scope of the optimization efforts have become broader in recent years. Instead of focusing only on the flows and on the network itself, research and projects have connected various areas of economy to traffic management, such as public health and logistic optimization. In this work we discuss the interconnections between urban mobility and city logistics, and present a case study showing how the mobility plan implemented in Ghent (Belgium) in April 2017 affected its logistic system.

Abstract:
This paper estimates global logistic regression and logistic geographically weighted regression (GWR) models of urban growth in the adjacent border cities of Laredo, Texas in the United States and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas in Mexico, for two time periods from 1985 to 2014. Historical land use and land cover patterns were monitored through Landsat imagery from the United States Geological Survey to identify instances of urban growth through land type change. Data on socioeconomic variables related to urban growth were collected from various sources and used as independent variables. In both time periods, the logistic GWR was proven to be a complementary model for the global logistic regression to explore the urban growth effect. In addition, GWR outperformed the global logistic regression model with respect to goodness of fit. These results suggest that local models are complementary to global models to empirically analyze the determinants of urban growth in study areas that contain political borders, presumably because the relationships between socioeconomic factors and urban growth are characterized by spatial heterogeneity in such areas. The spatial variable of the relationship between urban growth and the neighborhood interactions and proximity effect present the idea of complexity and interconnections between the land use change and associated factors.

Abstract:
This paper presents a structural microeconomic model of the choice of warehouse location in urban logistics. The model is theoretical and analytical. It brings the focus on operational constraints, their diversity, and their influence on costs. The location decision is modeled as a trade-off between land rents (making it costly to locate close to the center of the urban area) and transport costs (which increase non-linearly when the warehouse moves away from the city center). The influence of various parameters on the optimal warehouse location is analyzed. The following conclusions are drawn. First, increased demand contributes to the explanation of logistic sprawl: when the density of operations (pick-ups and deliveries) increases in a given area, transport is more efficient, making it less necessary for warehouses to be close to the city center. Second, urban logistics is a heterogenous sector and, depending on the operational constraints, will not react homogenously to changes in economic parameters or the implementation of public policies. Third, economies of scale are identified: some implications are discussed. Fourth, the paper briefly discusses how land-use planning regarding, in particular, warehouses, can help internalize some of the externalities of urban logistics.

In order to improve the transfers inside an Urban Rail Transit (URT) station between different rail transit lines, this research newly develops two Ordinal Logistic Regression (OLR) models to explore effective ways for saving the Perceived Transfer Time (PTT) of URT passengers, taking into account the difficulty of improving the transfer infrastructure. It is validated that the new OLR models are able to rationally explain probabilistically the correlations between PTT and its determinants. Moreover, the modelling analyses in this work have found that PTT will be effectively decreased if the severe transfer walking congestion is released to be acceptable. Furthermore, the congestion on the platform should be completely eliminated for the evident reduction of PTT. In addition, decreasing the actual transfer waiting time of the URT passengers to less than 5 minutes will obviously decrease PTT.

Abstract:
The traffic during rush hour in metropolises is always in heavy congestion, so the wagon trucks of logistic transportation are mostly forbidden during rush hour. In fact, quite a few logistic transportations are fulfilled by converted passenger vehicles. This paper aims to model the logistic companies’ behaviors and see through the effect of their cooperation modes on the companies and on the whole traffic conditions. The logistic companies decide their transportation pricing, warehouse using and route choosing separately or as a group (cooperation) to compete with others. It is also assumed that the heavy freight vehicles, light freight vehicles and the auto vehicles share the same network. Three models based on variational inequalities are proposed to describe the companies’ behaviors when there is no cooperation, simple cooperation and deep cooperation, respectively, and the modified diagonalization method is used to solve these models. The total transportation demand is elastic, which depends on the users’ choice of logistics company and further depends on all the companies’ prices, warehouse and route choices. The goodness of different coalitions to the companies and the whole traffic system is well investigated in the numerical examples.

Abstract:
The territorial and logistic aspects of the integrated strategy of sustainable development of urban tourism, based on two concepts – tourism decentralization and reverse logistics are outlined. The first concept is based on the geologistical organization of the tourist space of the city, which includes such components as: geologistical (geographical and logistical) identification of the resource base of urban tourism; geologistical planning of tourist flows and determination of their needs; geologistical design of tourist infrastructure; geologistical design of supply chains of tourist infrastructure. At the same time, the geographical identification of the resource base of urban tourism means geospatial localization of tourist objects in the city. They should be considered as a kind of “tourist magnets”, which attract the flow of tourists to certain parts of the city. Accordingly, the territorial concentration of tourist objects causes a concentration of tourist flows, therefore these considerations should be taken into account when creating and placing new tourist objects in certain parts of the city so that there will be no territorial over-saturation of them. Consequently, instead of the territorial concentration of tourist objects in the central parts of the city, their territorial dispersion, that is, dispersion across the city territory, should be proposed. Logistical identification of the resource base of urban tourism means the definition of the logistic potentials of individual tourist objects, that is, the maximum possible tourist flows, which will not affect the sustainable development of tourism and the state of tourist resources. Geologistical planning of tourist flows and their needs means forecasting the size and structure of tourist flows and their needs, which can be divided into needs of the first and second levels. Geologistical planning of tourist infrastructure is to develop a network of tourism infrastructure objects in order to meet the previously determined needs of tourists of the first and second levels. The geologistical design of supply chains to ensure the functioning of tourism infrastructure objects includes the development of territorial transport and logistic schemes for their supply, taking into account the characteristics of the road network of cities and the locations of the objects themselves. The second concept involves an integrated approach to the recycling of the total amount of urban waste, including tourist one, taking into account their collection and removal from the city, as well as processing at special enterprises. The experience of Ukrainian cities of Lviv and Kyiv in this context is considered. At the same time Kyiv is more efficient in processing municipal waste, including tourist one, and Lviv faces the problem of the removal and recycling of urban waste, including tourist, over which the city now works.

Abstract:
Fractal dimension curves of urban growth can be modeled with sigmoid functions, including logistic function and quadratic logistic function. Different types of logistic functions indicate different spatial dynamics. The fractal dimension curves of urban growth in Western countries follow the common logistic function, while the fractal dimension growth curves of cities in northern China follow the quadratic logistic function. Now, we want to investigate whether other Chinese cities, especially cities in South China, follow the same rules of urban evolution and attempt to analyze the reasons. This paper is devoted to exploring the fractals and fractal dimension properties of the city of Shenzhen in southern China. The urban region is divided into four subareas using ArcGIS technology, the box-counting method is adopted to extract spatial datasets, and the least squares regression method is employed to estimate fractal parameters. The results show that (1) the urban form of Shenzhen city has a clear fractal structure, but fractal dimension values of different subareas are different; (2) the fractal dimension growth curves of all the four study areas can only be modeled by the common logistic function, and the goodness of fit increases over time; (3) the peak of urban growth in Shenzhen had passed before 1986 and the fractal dimension growth is approaching its maximum capacity. It can be concluded that the urban form of Shenzhen bears characteristics of multifractals and the fractal structure has been becoming better, gradually, through self-organization, but its land resources are reaching the limits of growth. The fractal dimension curves of Shenzhen’s urban growth are similar to those of European and American cities but differ from those of cities in northern China. This suggests that there are subtle different dynamic mechanisms of city development between northern and southern China.

Abstract:
From the last decade of the 20th century, it has become increasing evident that uses of firewood, kerosene, LPG and electricity are the major sources of energy used by household for cooking, heating, lighting and cooling. The study examined the effect of socio-economic factors like income, education, geographical location, ethnicity across three different regions. Two cross-section data surveyed by National Living Standard Survey (NLSS) in 1995/96and in 2010/11 are used to analyze the end-use of energy in urban sector for cooking purpose. The studies found there have been significant changes in energy consumption behavior of urban household in these two time periods. Consumption of kerosene has declined over the period of time. Firewood has still contribution with significant amounts although people prefer LPG for cooking purpose. Result shows that household income plays significant role to switch from traditional and transitional fuel to modern fuel. Similarly, household education, ethnic group, geographical locations, family size has significant impact on fuel choice behavior of household. The result suggests that policies and interventions that raise household income, increase the level of education of household head could help to encourage the adaptation of modern energy source.

Abstract:
Little is known about the nature of ecosystem loss, rampant changes in land use and land cover (LULC) and urban growth taking place in Limbe. The aim of this study is to analyze urban growth in Limbe, Cameroon from 1986-2019 using geospatial techniques and Logistic Regression Model (LRM). Landsat Thematic Mapper (1986), Enhanced Thematic Mapper+ (2002) and Operational Land Imagery/Thermal Infrared Sensor (2019) were utilized in this study. The images were classified into land cover classes using supervised image classification algorithm in ENVI software. The classification output was subjected to LRM application to evaluate urban growth. Image difference of urban growth between 1986 and 2019 was calculated as dependent variable and the independent variables were produced by calculating the Euclidean distance and Buffer of built-up, waterbody, road and farmland as driving factor for urban growth. Future urban growth was determined for 2035 using the Land Change Modeler in IDRISI Selva. Classification overall accuracy for the three date were not less than 99%. LRM results show a good fit with relative operation characteristic of 0.8344 and Pseudo R2 of 0.21. Analysis of LULC shows that built-up increased from 3.5% (1986) to 17.6% (2019). An urban land expansion rate of about 23% was observed for 2035. Transition probability matrix revealed high probability (0.6345) of build-up to remaining build-up by 2035, while the probability for it changing to waterbody, bare land, farm land and vegetation are 0.1099, 0.0459, 0.1939 and 0.1221, respectively. This study successfully demonstrates the application of geo-spatial techniques and LRM for land use/land cover change detection and in understanding the urban growth dynamics. It also identifies the potential areas of future urban growth, which can help land use policy planners for making optimum decisions of land use planning and investment.

The relevance of the study is determined by the public interest in logistic support of urban transport flows and tourism. The aim of the article is to determine the best innovative practices of providing transport and tourist flows by different urban transport modes, and also to identify prospects for their use in conditions of domestic markets. The study found that according to the German experience as one of the best practices, the priority of the development should be given to the rail transport as a key component of urban transport and logistics infrastructure, including the tourism sector. It was determined that the integrated urban intelligent transport system includes the traffic management system, the public transport management system, the parking management system and the logistics flow management system, considering the impact of tourism. The regularities of the influence of factors on the dynamics of urban transport flows were determined based on a critical analysis of a number of specific cases. The prospects for the development of rural areas adjacent to such cities were determined, given the development of transport and logistics infrastructure of the country. The materials of the study can be useful for employees of the transport and logistics sector and the sphere of tourist services, researchers, graduate students, doctoral students, and government officials.

Abstract:
China is a vast country with 800 million farmers. An amelioration of their general living condition is a pressing issue. In China, it is not uncommon to encounter lower grain price due to the delays in their transportation. There are many reasons for the low living standards in rural areas, the obsolete rural logistic system, especially regarding agricultural products, is obviously one of them. Recently, to improve logistics development conditions of China's agricultural products, every levels of government increased rural logistics investment in construction projects; however, there are still delay issues from the productions centers to the urban areas. This paper looks the breaks in the logistics chain by studying the current distribution style, and proposes logistics system based on supply and marketing cooperatives in order to improve the existing system.

Based on the general patterns of urban expansion and carbon emissions at home and abroad, the IPCC carbon emission coefficient estimation method and logistic equation are applied to verify the logistic curve relationship between urban expansion and carbon emissions and to quantitatively measure the upper limit of carbon emissions and the inflection point of carbon emission growth. The results show that (1) the corresponding cumulative carbon emission intensity of foreign (regional) urban expansion gradually decreases during the transition from the primary stage to the saturation stage; (2) urban expansion and carbon emissions in China are characterized by cyclical fluctuations during the 1978–2014 period, and the fluctuations of the two show significant decoupling or divergence after 2014; and (3) urban expansion and carbon emission in Jiangsu province during the 2002–2019 period shows a logistic curve hypothesis relationship, and the cumulative carbon emissions in the built-up areas of Southern Jiangsu, Central Jiangsu and Northern Jiangsu show an inflection point when they reach 3128.12 km2, 627.25 km2 and 973.9 km2, with the cumulative carbon emission caps of 197.238 × 108 t, 14.487 × 108 t and 29.289 × 108 t, respectively.

Abstract. Urban expansion and land use and land cover change (LUCC) studies are a key knowledge of efficient local governance and urban planning and a lot contributing to the future sustainable development of the city. The main goal of the paper is to model a future urban spatial expansion by 2029 and 2039 of Darkhan city using Landsat TM satellite imagery (land use and cover change map of 1999, 2009, and 2019) and multivariate logistic regression model. Clark Lab’s (Clark University) IDRISI & TerrSet software applied for the urban expansion prediction and the correlation between expansion and driving factors. On account of multivariate logistics regression modelling, eight physical factors influencing urban expansion identified to predict urban expansion based on USGS Landsat TM imageries (Landsat Multispectral Scanner with 60 m resolution). The regression statistic accounted for the probability of future urban expansion was positive. Overall, the LUCC has estimated the transition of natural cover to the impervious surface in Darkhan city. Our result estimates an increase in the built-up area and slum area during the period 1999–2009 and 2009–2019, represents LUCC was characterized by an external transformation from natural to urban area. According to the future urban growth prediction, the urban area would be significantly spread into the open space and natural vegetation area. The main findings stated here are that Darkhan city is expanding in an unsystematic way, even though the urban growth has not been analysed in detail and has a bad case of urban unregulated sprawl.

The primary discussion of spatial organization that includes the analysis of the impact of logistics processes on flexibility, the transformability of spatial solutions and the transparency of space, has not been able to provide the theoretical and methodological interpretation of their spatio-temporal flow. This paper will point out the modalities of ?logistic architecture? production that break the design process tradition, as it turned out as unable to support creativity-based modes of reception of architectural ideas. The introduction of the ?logistic architecture? concept announces a new methodological and theoretical approach to the spatial syntheses of different processes in a building, aimed at achieving optimal spatio-temporal conditioning by the logistics system in relation to the use of creative strategy, as a part of the urban renovation. As my research field, this research observed the comparative flow of produced vehicles from the factory end line to the multi-story parking structures within two factories: Fiat Factory in Kragujevac, Serbia and Volkswagen Transparent Factory in Dresden, Germany.

Abstract:
During the last three decades, Delhi has witnessed extensive and rapid urban expansion in all directions, especially in the East South East zone. The total built-up area has risen dramatically, from 195.3 sq. km to 435.1 sq. km, during 1989–2020, which has led to habitat fragmentation, deforestation, and difficulties in running urban utility services effectively in the new extensions. This research aimed to simulate urban expansion in Delhi based on various driving factors using a logistic regression model. The recent urban expansion of Delhi was mapped using LANDSAT images of 1989, 2000, 2010, and 2020. The urban expansion was analyzed using concentric rings to show the urban expansion intensity in each direction. Nine driving factors were analyzed to detect the influence of each factor on the urban expansion process. The results revealed that the proximity to urban areas, proximity to main roads, and proximity to medical facilities were the most significant factors in Delhi during 1989–2020, where they had the highest regression coefficients: −0.884, −0.475, and −0.377, respectively. In addition, the predicted pattern of urban expansion was chaotic, scattered, and dense on the peripheries. This pattern of urban expansion might lead to further losses of natural resources. The relative operating characteristic method was utilized to assess the accuracy of the simulation, and the resulting value of 0.96 proved the validity of the simulation. The results of this research will aid local authorities in recognizing the patterns of future expansion, thus facilitating the implementation of effective policies to achieve sustainable urban development in Delhi.

Abstract:
This article follows an holistic approach to the management of the major urban logistics projects of Imperial Timisoara. The research conducted so far has been based on unilateral treatments: either exclusively historical or engineering. Research of such projects requires multi-scientific and multidisciplinary treatment angles. Our investigative optics is a managerial-holistic one, which integrates, besides the historical, technical / technological aspects, the architectural aspects, along with the multicultural, socio-human, ethnic, anthropological, urban, structural, processual and functional aspects. In this sense, the strategic references of urban essence are related to the potential of Timisoara city to have been able to carry out such projects, in the contexts specific to the different periods of its logistic development. The multitude of researched data sources, information and documents enables us to innovate the approach of major urban logistics projects, using the logic of public management, in a holistic, integrative vision. We are convinced that such research, in such a way, will contribute substantially to a deeper understanding of Timisoara's contribution to his own Europeanization and the region he was part of, the Imperial Historical Banat.

Abstract:
Purpose: This research aims to investigate the relation between urban logistics and all delivery systems used. The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and the unmanned aerial system (UAS) have been under investigation in the world of logistics, having been pointed as the next logistic technology. For that reason, this article proposes the use of UAV in urban logistics.Design/methodology/approach: We set for the methodology study the current state of this system and analyze what lies ahead soon. Based on this information, we intend to implement a scenario of deliveries in an urban environment. This scenario will be in the city of Aveiro and consists of the delivery of medicines into pharmacies located in an urban environment. With this study, we pretend to find the best current and future solution to operate in an urban environment, with the conventional vehicle or the UAV/UAS.Findings: The legal implications for the use of UAV/UAS are one important factor that can set back the use of these technologies due to the lack of legislation. Although this technology has some limitations in endurance and payload, this investigation reached a consensus in the use of UAV for logistics in urban areas, in small payloads (around 15 kg), and low endurance (around 25 min). The UAV/UAS brings excellent advantages that the conventional vehicle cannot overcome: direct routes; traffic congestion; and environmental legislation.Practical implications: This study brings an overview of a possible scenario for urban logistics. Although this is currently not possible, soon, this scenario could be implemented. This would bring a reduction in operation costs and reduce the congestion in the urban cores of the cities.Originality/value: Based on this research, this delivery system could, in the future, help and be the starting point for UAV/UAS logistics, specifically in the delivery of medicines.

Abstract:
In this paper, we present the attributes that influence the choice of an urban freight vehicle by using a systematic literature review and a survey conducted with logistics operators that perform urban deliveries in some of the biggest cities in Brazil. The results obtained facilitate the analysis and determination of the main attributes of vehicle selection in some cities of Brazil. Descriptive statistics are used to describe the characteristics of the companies, and a principal component analysis identifies the dependent variables, in order to evaluate the importance of each attribute. Also, an ordered logistic regression model is used to identify if the characteristics of the companies influence the choice of an urban freight vehicle. The results of this analysis indirectly indicate the dependence of the decision-making process on the logistics policies implemented in a given city. These attributes agree with those in the literature review. These results, despite of being evident, are different from the present selection criteria, which depend on local city policies.

Abstract:
Traffic safety in rural and urban areas is a serious public issue worldwide. In this paper, the weighted hazard index (WHI) was adopted to describe risk distributions in rural and urban areas. At the beginning, the WHI analysis results were shown in the GIS-based maps and the visual display of the hazardous segments was illustrated by ArcGIS software, which would help policymakers to assume more targeted improvement measures. Then logistic regression is introduced to assess the difference of incidence of total crashes and incidence of the fatal/injure crashes between urban and rural areas. Based on the estimation results of logistic regression analysis, the ADT (average daily traffic) and length of segments have more evident impact on the two risk factors, namely the incidence of total crashes and incidence of fatal/injure crashes. Furthermore, the differences between rural and urban areas are obvious in total crashes and fatal/injure crashes and more specifically they are all lower in rural areas with other attributes being fixed.
