Abstract:
Selecting optimal revegetation patterns, i.e., patterns that are more effective for soil organic carbon (SOC) and total nitrogen (TN) accumulation, is particularly important for mine land reclamation. However, there have been few evaluations of the effects of different revegetation patterns on the SOC and TN in reclaimed mine soils on the Loess Plateau, China. In this study, the SOC and TN stocks were investigated at reclaimed mine sites (RMSs), including artificially revegetated sites (ARSs) (arbors (Ar), bushes (Bu), arbor-bush mixtures (AB), and grasslands (Gr)) and a natural recovery site (NRS), as well as at undisturbed native sites (UNSs). Overall, the SOC and TN stocks in the RMSs were lower than those in the UNSs over 10–13 years after reclamation. The SOC stocks in the RMSs and UNSs only differed in the top 0–20 cm of the soil (p < 0.05). Except for those in Ar, the SOC and TN stocks in the ARSs were significantly larger than those in the NRS (p < 0.05). Compared with those in the NRS, the total SOC stocks in the 100 cm soil interval increased by 51.4%, 59.9%, and 109.9% for Bu, AB, and Gr, respectively, and the TN stocks increased by 33.1%, 35.1%, and 57.9%. The SOC stocks in the 0–100 cm soil interval decreased in the order of Gr (3.78 kg m−2) > AB (2.88 kg m−2) ≥ Bu (2.72 kg m−2), and the TN stocks exhibited a similar trend. These results suggest that grasslands were more favorable than woodlands for SOC and TN accumulation in this arid area. Thus, in terms of the accumulation of SOC and TN, grassland planting is recommended as a revegetation pattern for areas with reclaimed mine soils.

Abstract:
Urban nighttime leisure spaces (UNLSs), important urban sites of nighttime economic activity, have created enormous economic and social benefits. Both the physical features (e.g., location, shape, and area) and the social functions (e.g., commercial streets, office buildings, and entertainment venues) of UNLSs are important in UNLS mapping. However, most studies rely solely on census data or nighttime light (NTL) images to map the physical features of UNLSs, which limits UNLS mapping, and few studies perform UNLS mapping from a social function perspective. Point-of-interest (POI) data, which can reflect social activity functions, are needed. As a result, a novel methodological UNLS mapping framework, that integrates NTL images and POI data is required. Consequently, we first extracted high-NTL intensity and high-POI density areas from composite data as areas with high nightlife activity levels. Then, the POI data were analyzed to identify the social functions of leisure spaces revealing that nighttime leisure activities are not abundant in Beijing overall, the total UNLS area in Beijing is 31.08 km2, which accounts for only 0.2% of the total area of Beijing. In addition, the nightlife activities in the central urban area are more abundant than those in the suburbs. The main urban area has the largest UNLS area. Compared with the nightlife landmarks in Beijing established by the government, our results provide more details on the spatial pattern of nighttime leisure activities throughout the city. Our study aims to provide new insights into how multisource data can be leveraged for UNLS mapping to enable researchers to broaden their study scope. This investigation can also help government departments better understand the local nightlife situation to rationally formulate planning and adjustment measures.

Abstract:
This study aims to increase the understanding on the strategic logic behind the un-led military non-force missions. Six out of 25 missions are evaluated to determine how strategy is elaborated within the un-system. The cases include observer missions, liaison missions and advisory missions. The analysis illuminates the interaction between the political and military strategic levels as well as the strategic awareness displayed by the un regarding non-force missions. Also the potential added value of non-force missions in peacekeeping is discussed. The authors conclude that there is an imbalance between the strategic preferences of the unsc and the unsg. The strategic awareness as well as the mission character is shown to differ between types of non-force missions. Their purpose seems to be keeping peace by observing war. It is up to the unsc and the unsg to judge whether passive oversight of the ongoing crisis is sufficient or if more active measures are justified.

Le Courrier des Etats-Unis est fondé en mars 1828 à New York. Journal français, publie en français, il paraît sans interruption jusqu'en 1940. Entre sa fondation et le début des années 1850, il connaît un grand succès sur tout le continent nord-américain, si bien qu'en 1855 il compte 16 500 adhérents et est distribué dans les Etats du Nord comme dans ceux du Sud des Etats-Unis mais aussi de Québec jusqu'au Rio de la Plata et de New York jusqu'a San Francisco. Par son nombre d'adhérents, par son champ de diffusion mais également par son influence au sein des différentes communautés francophones, Le Courrier est un des plus importants journaux francophones des Amériques. II informe ses lecteurs sur les événements français mais également sur l'actualité états-unienne et canadienne. Sa position centrale à New York lui donne une position particulière pour recevoir les informations françaises et nord-américaines et les faire circuler à travers tout le continent. Fondé avec le soutien financier de Joseph Bonaparte, alors installé dans le New Jersey, Le Courrier débute son existence en tant que feuille bonapartiste. Mais les changements de direction le font devenir tour à tour orléaniste puis républicain en 1848. Sa lecture des événements français, états-uniens et canadiens est marquée par ces idées politiques françaises. II est un trait d'union entre la France et les Français et francophones vivant aux Amériques et surtout un lien important entre toutes les communautés francophones du Nouveau Monde.

Le nouveau systeme joua un role preeminent dans l'ascension des etats-unis sur le plan international les puissantes compagnies, qui etaient toutes des entreprises privees, servirent de laboratoires dans l'elaboration de nouvelles relations sociales et professionnelles, ainsi que dans la creation d'entreprises. Entre les deux guerres, le rail du ceder une part de son quasi-monopole du transfert interieur, au profit de deux nouveaux concurrents, l'air et la route. A l'epoque moderne, les chemins de fer ont du s'adapter a des conditions d'exercice modifiees, lais ils conservent leur puissance. Au cours de toutes ces annees, le rail a penetre l'esprit americain et apporte une imagerie capable d'exprimer de nouveaux concepts ou de donner a d'anciennes notions une forme nouvelle. Tant par son histoire que par l'eventail de symboles qu'il fournit, le chemin de fer americain a contribue de maniere significative a l'experience nationale
Railways developed at the same time as the american nation did. By the turn of the century, the rail network has spread across the continent. The new system was active in bringing the united states to prominent international status. The mighty railroads, all private ventures, were also a laboratory for the working out of new labour rules, social relationships and entrepreneurial achievements. In the interwar period, their near monopoly as an interior transportation system was challenged by the air and the highway, to which they had to yield some of their ground. In modern times, railroads have had to adjust to new rules, but they remain strong. Throughout those years, the railroad entered the american mind and became a medium to express new conceptions or to rephrase old ones both as history and as an array of cultural symbols, railways have contributed to the making of the national experience

Abstract:
O objetivo deste trabalho é viabilizar o uso conjunto, em um mesmo sistema de tubulação, na indústria de óleo e gás, dos aços inoxidáveis superduplex UNS S32750 e UNS S32760. Atualmente as especificações de projeto limitam o uso de um ou outro para um dado sistema, implicando em menor flexibilidade de fornecimento e maiores custos. Adicionalmente será avaliado o processo de soldagem automatizado com arame tubular com matriz metálica (metal cored) e com proteção gasosa. Este processo de soldagem possui grande produtividade e rendimento. Foram estudadas a resistência à corrosão, a resistência mecânica e possíveis danos causados à microestrutura do metal de solda e das zonas afetadas pelo calor (ZAC) dos aços inoxidáveis superduplex UNS S32750 e UNS S32760. A junta foi realizada com chanfro em meio \"V\", com geometria de 300 mm por 200 mm por 6,35 mm e com os seguintes parâmetros de soldagem: tensão de 25 V, corrente de 150 A, velocidade de soldagem de 6,35 mm/s, velocidade de alimentação do arame de 135 mm/s e distância de trabalho de 20 mm. As juntas foram caracterizadas por microscopia óptica, eletrônica de varredura, ensaio de tração, ensaio de dobramento, ensaio Charpy V a - 46 °C e ensaio de corrosão segundo a norma ASTM G48. A base para os critérios de aprovação será o disposto normativo da Norsok Standard M-601, Welding and inspection of piping, na sua mais recente edição (2008). Os resultados mostraram que não existem diferenças significativas entre as soldagens similares e dissimilares com relação às propriedades testadas.
The objective of this work is to enable the use in the same piping system, used in the oil and gas industry, of UNS S32750 and UNS S32760 superduplex stainless steels. Currently, the design specifications limit the use of one or the other for a given system, resulting in less flexibility in supply and higher costs. Additionally, it will be evaluated automated welding process with metal cored using a shielding gas. This welding process has high productivity and efficiency. It was studied corrosion resistance, mechanical strength and possible damage to the weld metal microstructure and heat affected zones (HAZ) of stainless steels superduplex UNS S32750 and UNS S32760. The joint was welded using a half \"V\" bevel geometry, with 300 mm by 200 mm by 6.35 mm and the following welding parameters: voltage 25 V, current 150 A, welding speed of 6.35 mm/s, wire feed speed of 135 mm/s and 20 mm working distance. The joints were characterized by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, tensile test, bending test, Charpy V test at - 46 °C and corrosion test according to ASTM G48. The basis for the criteria for approval is the normative provisions of Norsok Standard M-601, Welding and inspection of piping in its latest edition (2008). The results showed that there are no significant differences between similar and dissimilar welds with respect to the tested properties.

Abstract:
Os aços inoxidáveis duplex (AID) caracterizam-se pela sua microestrutura composta por austenita numa matriz ferrítica, com fração volumétrica média de 50% para cada fase. A combinação destas características confere-lhes excelente resistência mecânica e à corrosão. A soldagem/junção destes aços é frequentemente uma operação crítica, já que, ao sofrer ciclos térmicos, estes aços têm suas propriedades alteradas. Portanto, processos de junção com ausência de gradientes de temperatura, como a brasagem, mostram-se uma solução prática para a junção destes aços. No entanto, o adequado desenvolvimento do processo de brasagem em AID envolve considerações importantes a respeito da escolha dos parâmetros de processamento e metal de adição em conjunto com os ciclos térmicos de aquecimento e resfriamento. O presente estudo pretende avaliar a brasabilidade dos AID UNS S32101(baixa liga), UNS S32304 (baixa liga), UNS S32507 (superduplex) e UNS S32707(hiperduplex), mediante a caracterização da junta brasada. Estes aços foram brasados em forno continuo com metal de adição BNi-7 (Ni-Cr-P), na temperatura de 1100oC, por tempos de 32 min e 12 min, seguidos de resfriamento em forno, utilizando-se folgas de 0,5, 0,3 e 0,0 mm. A junta brasada foi caracterizada utilizando-se microscopia ótica e microscopia eletrônica de varredura (MEV). A identificação microestrutural foi realizada via Microanálise Química de Energia Dispersiva de Raios-X (EDS) e difração de Raios-X. Foi identificada na junta brasada dos diferentes AID a fase rica em níquel, assim como fases prejudiciais compostas por fosfetos de níquel e cromo. A fase rica em níquel, que usualmente é denominada de -Ni, apresenta-se preferencialmente em toda a região da junta, sem a presença de fase intermetálica contínua no centro da junta. No caso dos aços inoxidáveis super e hiperduplex esses apresentaram a formação de fase sigma na região da interface da junta, do lado do metal de base, devido aos ciclos térmicos de brasagem
The duplex stainless steels (DSS) are characterized by its microstructure consisting of austenite in a ferritic matrix with mean volumetric fraction of 50% for each phase. The combination of these features gives them excellent mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. The welding / joining of these steels are often considered as a critical operation, since, subjected to thermal cycles, they have their microstructures changed and, consequently, their properties. Therefore, joining processes without temperature gradients, like brazing, are shown as a practical solution for joining these steels. However, the proper development of brazing process of DSS involves important issues concerning the choice of processing parameters and the brazing filler metal together with heating and cooling brazing thermal cycles. This study aims at evaluating the brazeability of DSS UNS S32101 (lean duplex), UNS S32304 (lean duplex), UNS S32507 (superduplex) and UNS S32707 (hyperduplex) by characterizing the brazed joint. These steels were brazed in a furnace with filler metal BNi-7 (Ni-Cr-P) at 1100°C for times of 32 min and 12 min, followed by cooling in a continuous brazing furnace, with joint gaps of 0.5 , 0.3 and 0.0 mm. The brazed joint was characterized using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The phase identifications were performed by microanalysis using energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffraction. Results showed, for non-ideal joint gaps, in all duplex used in this work, the Ni rich solid solution, as well as deleterious phases composed of nickel and chromium phosphides. The ideal gap presented Ni rich solid solution, usually called -Ni, was found continuously without a continuous intermetallic region in the joint center. In the case of super duplex and hyperduplex brazing, the brazing thermal cycles produced the formation of sigma phase in the region of the joint interface, in the base metal.

Die vorliegende Staatsexamensarbeit versteht sich als eine erste detaillierte erinnerungskulturelle Verortung der Bürgerkriegsliteratur von Juan Eduardo Zúñiga (1929) am Beispiel seines ersten Erzählungsbandes „Largo noviembre de Madrid“ (1980). Stark gewachsen ist in Spanien seit dem Ende der 1990er Jahre das zivilgesellschaftliche und wissenschaftliche Interesse an einer „recuperación de la memoria“, einer Wiedererlangung der Erinnerung an die konfliktreiche Bürgerkriegs- und Franco-Vergangenheit. Damit einhergehend lotet die hispanistische Literaturforschung in jüngster Zeit verstärkt fiktive Bürgerkriegs-Darstellungen in ihren erinnerungskulturellen Bedeutungen aus. Es muss allerdings verwundern, dass sie Zúñiga hierbei aber kaum Beachtung schenkt. Denn die Publikation von „Largo noviembre de Madrid“ inmitten der Transición, der politischen Übergangszeit nach dem Tod Francos, stellt nicht nur im literarischen Feld eine Pionierleistung im erinnerungskulturellen Umgang mit der Bürgerkriegs-Vergangenheit dar. Die vorliegende Analyse soll zeigen, dass Zúñiga mit „Largo noviembre de Madrid“ den Beginn einer spanischen Bürgerkriegsliteratur einleitet, die sich primär als Medium der Erinnerung begreift und als solche dezidiert gegen die „desmemoria“, die gesamtgesellschaftliche Schweigehaltung hinsichtlich der (traumatischen) Bürgerkriegs-Erfahrungen, ausgerichtet ist. Zum Inhalt des Erzählungsbandes: Die in „Largo noviembre de Madrid“ enthaltenen 16 cuentos eröffnen, weitgehend in einer dunklen, hermetischen Erzählweise gehalten, einen beklemmenden Einblick in das Innenleben des republikanischen Madrids, das fast für die gesamte Dauer des Spanischen Bürgerkrieges (1936-39) einer Belagerung durch die frankistischen Truppen ausgesetzt war. Meine Analyse konzentriert sich insbesondere auf die Erzählung „Riesgos del atardecer“, da dieser in erinnerungskultureller Hinsicht eine besondere Bedeutung zukommt. Zúñiga evoziert hier am Beispiel eines Ehepaares der Madrider Mittelschicht die prekäre Situation der sogenannten „ciudad clandestina“ (Javier Cervera), des zurückgezogen oder gar klandestin lebenden profrankistischen Teils der Madrider Bevölkerung, für den das „rote Madrid“ der Frente Popular eine feindliche Umgebung darstellte. Unter Rückgriff auf die theoretischen Betrachtungen Astrid Erlls zum erinnerungskulturellen Potenzial literarischer Texte, gemäß derer sich Kriegsliteratur immer auch als „Dokument der Erinnerungskultur“ versteht, soll die vorliegende Untersuchung Folgendes zeigen: „Largo noviembre de Madrid“ ist – so die erste, grundlegende These – primär ein Medium der Gedächtnisbildung. Indem Zúñiga als Zeitzeugenautor im entstehungsgeschichtlichen Kontext der Transición ein fiktives Bürgerkriegs-Madrid evoziert, überführt er damit Erinnerungen an eine konfliktreiche Vergangenheit, die der „desmemoria“ zum Opfer zu fallen drohen, in den „Fernhorizont des kulturellen Gedächtnisses“ (Erll). In narrative Strukturen transformiert wird hierbei nicht die „große“ Ereignisgeschichte, sondern das zivile Alltagsgeschehen einer belagerten Stadt. Dieses spiegelt Zúñiga vor allem in der mentalen Verfassung der einzelnen Protagonisten wider. Die einzelnen Erzählungen geben so psychologische Momentaufnahmen wieder, in denen sich – dies meine zweite These – das kollektive Bewusstsein repräsentativer Gruppen und sozialer Zusammenhänge im Bürgerkriegs-Madrid kristallisieren. Bemerkenswert ist sicherlich auch, dass Zúñiga in seinem Erzählungsband die Freiheiten der Nach-Franco-Ära nutzt, um die zuvor verschwiegenen „linken“ Geschichten zu erzählen – unverkennbar setzt er mit „Largo noviembre de Madrid“ den Verteidigern des republikanischen Madrids ein literarisches Denkmal – doch dies ist nur ein Aspekt seiner Bürgerkriegsdarstellung und bei Weitem nicht der beherrschende. Denn Zúñiga entwirft alles andere als ein einseitiges, von den eigenen politischen Vorstellungen dominiertes Geschichtsbild. Vielmehr eröffnen die 16 Erzählungen ein heterogenes Panorama der eingeschlossenen Stadt. Dieses umfasst neben dem offiziellen, republikanischen Madrid auch diejenigen Bevölkerungsteile, die mit Franco sympathisierten oder zwischen den Fronten standen. In diesem Sinne rekonstruiert „Largo noviembre de Madrid“ – so die dritte These – ein polyperspektivisches Bürgerkriegs-Madrid, das unterschiedliche, zum Teil konträre historische Haltungen und Sichtweisen weitgehend gleichwertig nebeneinanderstellt. Diese eint „Largo noviembre de Madrid“ letztlich wieder in einem übergreifenden Geschichtsbild, wonach die Belagerung für alle Bevölkerungsteile eine kollektive Leiderfahrung bedeutete. Zúñiga legt somit ein Erinnerungsmedium vor, – so die vierte These – das eine konfliktreiche Geschichte in versöhnender Weise darstellt
En la presente tesina* se analiza por primera vez en detalle la literatura de la Guerra Civil de Juan Eduardo Zúñiga (1929) en el campo de la cultura de la memoria histórica, concentrándose en su primera recopilación de cuentos que fue publicada bajo el título “Largo noviembre de Madrid” (1980). La representación ficticia de la Guerra Civil, en cuanto al papel de la cultura de la memoria histórica, se ha transformado en los años recientes en un desiderátum frecuentemente utilizado en la filología hispánica. Teniendo en cuenta que la recuperación de la memoria histórica respecto a la Guerra Civil y al franquismo tuvo un gran impacto desde finales de los años noventa (tanto en el campo académico como en la sociedad española en general), destaca que la narración de Zúñiga todavía no haya recibido la atención merecida. La aparición del volumen “Largo noviembre de Madrid”, en medio de la transición española, significa un hecho pionero aún más allá del ámbito literario en cuanto al tratamiento del recuerdo de la Guerra Civil. El siguiente análisis localiza “Largo noviembre de Madrid” como inicio de una literatura de la Guerra Civil española escrita decididamente como vehículo para mantener la memoria histórica e impedir que el recuerdo de estos años (traumáticos) sea relegado al olvido. En lo que respecta al contenido del volumen: Los dieciséis cuentos recogidos en “Largo noviembre de Madrid”, caracterizados por una estética enigmática, evocan la angustiosa atmósfera que se vivía en el Madrid republicano sitiado por las tropas franquistas casi durante toda la Guerra Civil (1936-39). El análisis se enfoca principalmente en el cuento “Riesgos del atardecer”, debido a que obtiene un significado especial en lo que se refiere a la memoria cultural. Zúñiga recuerda, através de una pareja madrileña de clase media, la situación precaria de la así llamada “ciudad clandestina” (Javier Cervera). Se trata de una representación ficticia de la vida escondida de la población franquista en la ciudad de Madrid, para quien el “Madrid rojo” del Frente Popular representaba un entorno hostil. La literatura de guerra siempre es, al mismo tiempo, un documento de la memoria cultural (Astrid Erll). Sobre esta base el presente análisis intenta verificar las siguientes tesis: “Largo noviembre de Madrid” es sobre todo un medio de recuperación de la memoria. Zúñiga, testigo del tiempo de la Guerra Civil, evoca una ficción del Madrid de entonces. De esta manera recupera la memoria de un pasado conflictivo que de otra manera hubiera caído en el olvido ante la actitud de desmemoria asumida durante la transición. En vez de la “gran” historia, Zúñiga transforma en estructuras narrativas los acontecimientos de la vida cotidiana en el Madrid sitiado. Se concentra sobre todo en las condiciones mentales de sus protagonistas. Cada uno de los cuentos capta una imagen histórica desde una perspectiva psicológica en la cual se cristaliza la conciencia colectiva de agrupaciones y sectores sociales representativos para el Madrid de la Guerra Civil. Es notable que Zúñiga utiliza en “Largo noviembre de Madrid” las nuevas posibilidades del post-franquismo, recuperando las historias de la izquierda antes ocultadas. Sin duda erige un monumento literario a los defensores del Madrid republicano. En cualquier caso, este no es el elemento predominante de la representación ficticia de la presente recopilación, sino tan sólo un aspecto más que el autor trata. Sin embargo no es una obra simplista, resultado de la percepción personal del autor: más bien los dieciséis cuentos ofrecen al lector un panorama histórico bastante heterogéneo de la ciudad sitiada. Este pretende no solo mostrar el Madrid oficial de los republicanos, sino también el de los simpatizantes y militantes de Franco como ciudadanos “neutrales”, caídos entre dos fuegos con el comienzo de la guerra. De tal manera „Largo noviembre de Madrid“ reconstruye varias perspectivas del Madrid de la Guerra Civil. Por lo tanto, Zúñiga evoca simultáneamente posturas y puntos de vista históricos opuestos de forma equivalente en un mismo volumen. Estos están reunidos bajo una imagen común de la historia, según la cual el Madrid sitiado significaba para su población un momento destacado de sufrimiento colectivo. Abstract:
This chapter addresses the authority of the United Nations Security Council and its politicization by the BRICS. In particular, it explores the patterns of contestation for the reform of the United Nations Security Council and the Responsibility to Protect. How do the BRICS position themselves towards these two issues and how do they justify their demands? Do they build a challengers’ coalition? Using, first, a qualitative analysis of BRICS statements and, second, congruence analysis, this chapter maps and explains the positions of BRICS states on UNSC reform and R2P. We find that BRICS’ individual positions show a convergence on the basic contours of UNSC reform and R2P. The contestation pattern clearly indicates that this group favours the UNSC having strong international authority and also that they share concerns about the liberal content of the UNSC. While there is a strong tendency towards convergence on the one hand, BRICS strongly disagree on the details of the reform of the UNSC—as well as on the implementation of R2P on the other. These differences are so strong that they are unlikely to be resolved in the near future. Congruence analysis shows that power transition theory best explains their agreement ‘in principle’, but that none of the available theories explain their disagreement ‘in detail’. We conclude that, as things stand, the BRICS do not pose a challenge to the status quo in governance within the field of international security.

Las cuevas de Valdepeñas son unos espacios arquitectónicos subterráneos realizados por la mano del hombre que, durante siglos, han cumplido una función fundamental: almacenar y conservar en el interior de las tinajas que contenían, el afamado vino de Valdepeñas. Sin embargo, en pleno siglo XXI, la mayoría de las cuevas permanecen abandonadas o, en el peor de los casos, han sucumbido ante el avance de nuevas construcciones que, sin tener en cuenta su valor patrimonial y sin unas medidas de protección adecuadas por parte de las administraciones implicadas, han provocado su paulatina desaparición. Hoy en día, algo parece estar cambiando en la mentalidad de la gente y en la aplicación de unas normativas que pueden ayudar a salvaguardar y poner en valor estas construcciones subterráneas tradicionales, que están empezando a ser valoradas como un recurso turístico más de esta población manchega.
