Abstract:
Insgesamt 280 Dozentinnen und Dozenten der Lehrerinnen- und Lehrerbildung und andere Bildungsfachleute haben sich bisher in Diplomstudiengänge und Master of Advanced Studies der Universität Bern in verschiedenen Fachdidaktiken eingeschrieben. Weitere Personen belegten und belegen einzelne Module aus den Studiengängen. Die Weiterbildung besteht seit 1997, dem ersten Jahr, in dem Universitäten Nachdiplomstudien und entsprechende Abschlüsse anbieten konnten. 2005 erliess der Senat der Universität Bern ein revidiertes Reglement, welches das Angebot um Master of Advanced Studies erweitert. Bisher wurden Studiengänge durchgeführt in Didaktik der Mathematik, Didaktik Deutsch, Didaktik Sport, Didaktik Kunst und Gestaltung, Didaktik der Musik, Didaktik der Naturwissenschaften, Didaktik des sprachlichen Handelns. Gegenwärtig laufen Studiengänge in den Didaktiken Kunst und Gestaltung, Sprachliches Handeln, Fremdsprachen und Mathematik. Trägerin des Weiterbildungsprogramms ist die Philosophisch-humanwissenschaftliche Fakultät der Universität Bern, die operative Führung liegt bei der Abteilung für Didaktik des Instituts für Erziehungswissenschaft.

Zusammenfassung. Die Sonografie ist ein modernes Bildgebungsverfahren, das im medizinischen Alltag eine breite Anwendung findet. Obwohl die Ultraschallmethode in fast allen medizinischen Fachdisziplinen verwendet wird, ist die Sonografie kein obligates Lernziel im Medizinstudium der Schweiz. Im Artikel wird über eine Initiative an der Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Bern berichtet, die Studierenden des zweiten Studienjahres einen Kurs «Sonografie des Abdomens» anbietet. Dieser gemeinsam mit Mitgliedern der Schweizerischen Gesellschaft für Ultraschallmedizin (SGUM) durchgeführte Kurs vermittelt theoretisches Wissen zur Ultraschallanatomie und gibt den Studierenden die Möglichkeit, selbst Ultraschalluntersuchungen durchzuführen.

Abstract:
Christoph Sigrist legt in seinem Beitrag über die «Geschichte der Dozentur für Diakoniewissenschaft an der Theologischen Fakultät der Universität Bern» dar, wie nach Vorarbeiten zwischen den Reformierten Kirchen Bern-Jura-Solothurn und der Theologischen Fakultät im Jahr 1999 ein Lehrstuhl für Diakoniewissenschaft eingerichtet wurde, der dank zusätzlich generierten Drittmitteln ab dem Jahr 2009 in eine Dozentur ausgebaut werden konnte. Der Auftrag der Dozentur bestand und besteht gemäss damaligem Konzept u.a. in der Förderung und Intensivierung der Forschungstätigkeit im Bereich der Diakoniewissenschaft sowie in der Förderung und Vernetzung mit anderen Disziplinen und Instituten.

Abstract:
A germination test of Vicia faba and Lens culinaris seeds under the effect of bleach and vinegar was conducted for seven days, and the observations were recorded daily. The completely randomized design (CRD) was used to examine the germination with three replicates at the lab conditions. Six germination parameters were measured, including germination percentage (GP), germination index (GI), mean germination time (MGT), mean germination rate (MGR), vigour index (VI), plus the fresh weight (FW) and dry weight (DW) of Vicia faba and Lens culinaris seeds. As a legume crop seeds model, the efficacy of four treatment levels from 0.005% to 0.5% of bleach and vinegar on the germination was tested. A chemical analysis was performed using the ion chromatography (IC) to evaluate the effect of chloride and acetate anions up-take on the seedling germination in addition to other essential nutrients. A significant inhibition in seedling growth was observed with increasing the treatment concentration. The maximum inhibition was recorded for both seeds at 0.5%, followed by 0.1% levels, while a positive effect was represented with the lower concentrations. The chemical analysis of the up-taking active ingredients was corroborated by the germination outputs.

Das Pilotprojekt STEPS – Schritte zum Berufsziel der isa – Fachstelle Migration im Kanton Bern beriet zwischen 2020 und 2023 insgesamt 170 erwachsene Personen mit Migrationserfahrung beim Berufseinstieg oder -wechsel. Das Schweizerische Forum für Migrations- und Bevölkerungsstudien (SFM) der Universität Neuchâtel wurde beauftragt, eine Evaluation von STEPS durchzuführen. Diese Evaluation hat aufgezeigt, dass für ein solches Pilotprojekt eine Nachfrage vorhanden ist und dass die Beratungen durch die befragten Klient·inn·en überwiegend positiv beurteilt werden. Der auf individuelle Bedürfnisse abgestimmte Ansatz von STEPS konnte Migrant·inn·en konkret und mit vielfältigen Methoden auf dem Weg zur Anerkennung von ausländischen Diplomen oder zu einem Schweizer Berufsabschluss unterstützen und durch seine Ressourcen- und Chancenorientierung auch zur sozialen Anerkennung beitragen. Allerdings erwies sich die Zusammenarbeit zwischen STEPS und weiteren Angeboten in der Anerkennungs-, Bildungs- und Berufsberatung im Kanton Bern auch im Kontext der Covid-19 Pandemie und aufgrund unterschiedlicher institutioneller Logiken als Herausforderung. Die Erfahrungen aus dem Pilotprojekt zeigen aber wichtige Lücken und Handlungsmöglichkeiten auf, welche nicht nur in Bezug auf ein migrantisches Zielpublikum sondern auch allgemein für die Beratungstätigkeit in den Bereichen Bildung und Beruf von Bedeutung sein können.

Abstract:
This article demonstrates that mathematics in the system of higher education has outgrown the status of the general education subject and should become an integral part of the professional training of future bachelors, including economists, on the basis of intersubject connection with special subjects. Such aspects as the importance of improving the scientific and methodological support of mathematical training of students by means of digital technologies are revealed. It is specified that in order to implement the task of qualified training of students learning econometrics and economic and mathematical modeling, it is necessary to use digital technologies in two directions: for the organization of electronic educational space and in the process of solving applied problems at the junction of the branches of economics and mathematics. The advantages of using e-learning courses in the educational process are presented (such as providing individualization of the educational process in accordance with the needs, characteristics and capabilities of students; improving the quality and efficiency of the educational process; ensuring systematic monitoring of the educational quality). The unified structures of “Econometrics”, “Economic and mathematical modeling” based on the Moodle platform are the following ones. The article presents the results of the pedagogical experiment on the attitude of students to the use of e-learning course (ELC) in the educational process of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University and Alfred Nobel University (Dnipro city). We found that the following metrics need improvement: availability of time-appropriate mathematical materials; individual approach in training; students’ self-expression and the development of their creativity in the e-learning process. The following opportunities are brought to light the possibilities of digital technologies for the construction and research of econometric models (based on the problem of dependence of the level of the Ukrainian population employment). Various stages of building and testing of the econometric model are characterized: identification of variables, specification of the model, parameterization and verification of the statistical significance of the obtained results.

This brief sets out key considerations linked to the promotion of COVID-19 vaccine uptake among undocumented migrants residing in Rome, Italy. We focus on strategies to equitably distribute COVID-19 vaccines. Evidence from Italy is applicable to other contexts where vaccine administration is tied to “vaccine passports” or “immunity passes”. Undocumented migrants have been considered as some of the “hardest to reach” groups to engage in COVID-19 vaccination outreach. This brief uses the term undocumented migrant or migrant for brevity, but we refer to people living without formal Italian citizenship, refugee status or right to remain in Italy. This brief explores the everyday context of undocumented migrants lives, and how experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic have exacerbated difficult conditions. It links emerging vulnerabilities to perceptions of vaccines, and we suggest that migrants orientate themselves towards the vaccines within frameworks which prioritise economic survival. In many cases, migrants have accepted a COVID-19 vaccine to access paid employment, yet this has often generated mistrust in the state and healthcare system. Accordingly, this brief considers how vaccines can be distributed equitably to boost trust and inclusion in the post-pandemic world. This brief draws primarily on the ethnographic evidence collected through interviews and observations with undocumented migrants in Rome, along with civil society representatives and health workers between December 2021 and January 2022. This brief was developed for SSHAP by Sara Vallerani (Rome Tre University), Elizabeth Storer (LSE) and Costanza Torre (LSE). One of the components of the publishing activity (book exchange) of the Ivan Franko State University of Lviv in the post-war period, in particular, in 1946-1947, when the University, while reconstructing and repairing educational buildings, etc., began to build a publishing and printing base, has been revealed. It has been established that the administration of one of the leading educational institutions at that time encouraged the scientific and pedagogical staff to write and print teaching aids, textbooks, monographs, etc. in every possible way. The article analyzes archival documents testifying to the cooperation of the rectorate of the Ivan Franko State University of Lviv with some educational institutions of Ukraine and from outside its borders in the matter of exchange of scientific works written and published by researchers of the Franko University. This article will be of particular value primarily for those who are interested in the history of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv concerning the development of the publishing business in the post-war period, as well as significant scientific works that were published within the framework of this educational institution. Im Kontext des Bildungsstreiks 2010, bei welchem die Leitung der Frankfurter Goethe-Universität das von Studierenden friedlich besetzte Casino auf dem IG-Farben-Campus polizeilich räumen ließ, formulierten wir als Studierende am Institut für Humangeographie eine Protestnote, in der wir uns vor allem für ein selbstbestimmtes und kritisches Lernen aussprachen. Das in der Folge entstandene autonome Projektseminar ist aus unserer Unzufriedenheit mit den im Vorlesungsverzeichnis angebotenen Seminaren motiviert und darüber hinaus mit dem Wunsch verbunden, aus den „klassischen“, frontal organisierten Seminarstrukturen auszubrechen und andere Formen des Arbeitens zu erproben. Der vorliegende Projektbericht ist der Nachweis, dass dies am Institut für Humangeographie möglich ist. Für diese Möglichkeit sind wir dem Institut im Ganzen und den Vielen, die trotz enger Zeitbudgets die Rahmenbedingungen ermöglichten, zu Dank verpflichtet. Zugleich ist dieser Bericht allerdings auch der Nachweis, dass der Autonomie unter gegebenen Bedingungen Grenzen gesetzt sind, dass sich autonome Initiativen an der Universität in einem „kontrollierten Möglichkeitsfeld“ (Schreibwerkstatt des AK Kritische Geographie 2011) bewegen. Um unsere Arbeit entsprechend der Studienordnung in die heilige Kuh der bolognareformierten Abschlüsse – den Credit Points – eintauschen zu können, mussten diverse formale Voraussetzungen erfüllt werden. Dazu gehörte, dass wir einen vorgegebenen workload erbringen mussten und am Ende ein zu bewertendes Ergebnis stand. Schließlich war eine mit den nötigen Befugnissen ausgestattete Person erforderlich, die jene zu beurteilen und zu bescheinigen in der Lage war – der Dank geht in diesem Falle an Bernd Belina. Wesentlich wichtiger aber war für uns seine inhaltliche Begleitung des Seminars. In Absehung akademischer Statusgruppenunterschiede und einer „klassischen“ Seminarleiter_innenposition nahm er als zwar erfahrenerer aber gleichberechtigter Diskussionsteilnehmer an unseren Debatten teil und gab uns manche hilfreiche Anregung. Ein ähnlicher Dank geht an Sebastian Schipper, der uns in den Untiefen der Diskursanalyse ein guter Lotse war. Bereits zu Beginn des autonomen Projektseminars einigten wir uns darauf, ein gemeinsames Endprodukt zu erstellen, welches auch Anderen, die sich mit dem Umzug und dem organisatorischen Umbau der Goethe-Universität kritisch auseinandersetzen, als Material zugänglich sein sollte. Dieser Wunsch erfüllt sich dankenswerterweise darin, dass unser Abschlussbericht hier im Forum Humangeographie publiziert ist. Zugleich hat aber auch diese Möglichkeit ihre Grenzen. So dürfen unsere Inhalte zwar veröffentlicht und zur Diskussion gestellt werden, aber nur unter der Bedingung, dass ein_e Professor_in des Instituts die Publikation begleitet und die Verantwortung für die formale und stilistische Richtigkeit trägt. Zudem ist der Anlass dieser Publikation, unsere Ergebnisse zur Diskussion zur Verfügung zu stellen und damit auch dem neoliberalen Geist an der Goethe-Universität etwas entgegenzusetzen. Unter Bedingungen der neoliberalisierten Lehre und Forschung verwandelt sich eine solche Publikation aber auch zum affirmativen Eintrag im Lebenslauf. Unter den gegenwärtigen Strukturen können wir dem nichts als unsere Reflexion und Kritik entgegenstellen. Die Erkenntnis, dass wir uns in solcherlei kontrollierten Möglichkeitsfeldern bewegen, hat im Verlauf des autonomen Projektseminars zu Diskussionen um die auftretenden Widersprüche geführt. So war es bspw. für einige weniger problematisch als für andere, dass die Publikation eine_n professorale_n Betreuer_in benötigt. Ein anderer Diskussionspunkt war der Zwang, ein den akademischen Standards entsprechendes Endprodukt zu erstellen, welches zudem bewertet werden musste. Während für einige die Möglichkeit wichtiger war, dass die Veranstaltung überhaupt stattfinden konnte, empfanden es andere als starke Einschränkung einer selbstbestimmten Arbeitsweise. Am Ende bleibt die Erkenntnis, dass Kompromisse unabdingbar sind, wenn eigener Anspruch und kontrolliertes Möglichkeitsfeld aufeinanderprallen. Ergänzt werden diese „äußeren“ Widersprüchlichkeiten durch „interne“ divergente Interessenspositionen. Auch hier waren Kompromisse unabdingbar. Diese spiegeln und reproduzieren zugleich gesellschaftliche Machtverhältnisse als interne Gruppendynamiken. Trotzdem liegt der zentrale Vorteil unseres Projektseminars gegenüber einer „klassischen“ Universitätsveranstaltung gerade darin, dass wir permanent versuchten, solche Widersprüchlichkeiten und machtförmigen Kompromisse offenzulegen und zu diskutieren. Schließlich wollen wir mit dem vorliegenden Bericht zeigen, dass Studierende in der Lage sind, erkämpfte und zuerkannte Freiräume zu nutzen und diese mit Inhalten zu füllen. Wir wollen Andere dazu ermuntern uns zu folgen. Auch Ihr werdet an die Grenzen der kontrollierten Möglichkeitsfelder stoßen und einen Weg finden (müssen), mit diesen umzugehen oder sie zu überwinden. Nichtsdestotrotz lohnt sich der Aufwand!
