Abstract:
The article is devoted to research of “brotherhood” phenomenon in international relations. The meaning of the term “brotherhood” in diplomatic history of the Ancient East and medieval China is analyzed. Some “brotherhood” treaties are given. The author demonstrates with many examples that a family terminology (“father”, “son”, “grandfather”, “grandson”, “uncle”, “nephew”, “brother”) was often used in chronicles of many epochs and civilizations to determine the state status in the system of international relations and for a designation of various nuances of relations of a political dependence, vassalage and hegemony. Extrapolating experience of the history of Eastern diplomacy at the modern system of international relations, the author concludes that traditional slogans of Russian propaganda about “one nation” and “eternal brotherhood” of Russian and Ukrainian nations mean only the assertion of an inequality and dependence of Ukrainian state from the “elder brother”, the second-class status of Ukrainians as a nation, but not a feeling of a mutual affection and family ties.

Abstract:
Statement of the problem. The article analyzes the ways of recreating oriental features in the song “Oriental Melody” (“Skhidna melodiia”) by Ukrainian composer Mykola Lysenko, based on a poem by Ukrainian poetess, playwright, short story writer Lesia Ukrainka. This song, or “solospiv”, as Lysenko called his vocal and piano works, was created in the last period of the composer’s work, when, working in this genre, he began to use poems by modern Ukrainian poets, including Lesia Ukrainka. This fact most likely caused some changes in the style of these works in comparison with Lysenko’s more traditional early works. “Oriental melody” has not been previously studied by musicologists, so this article conducts its composition analysis in order to understand its structure and ways of interpreting the poetic text The purpose of the study is to identify the specific embodiment of oriental features in the musical language of the song. Results and conclusions. Lesia Ukrainka’s poem “Oriental Melody” from her second Crimean cycle “Crimean Echoes” (“Krymski vidhuky”) is a love poem, in which oriental images are interspersed with exotic landscapes of the Crimea. The composer strives to follow the structure of the poem, which led to the creation of a five-part composition with a variational repetition of the first part at the very end. The article reveals that Lysenko’s “Oriental Melody” contains a number of well-established ways for Western European music to recreate the oriental image. In addition, the song contains features of recitative, sometimes giving the impression of a theatrical monologue. Lysenko often changes the meter, avoids repetition in rhythmic structures, using complex rhythms and seeks for through-composed type of composition. The lack of scholars’ attention to the song “Oriental Melody” can be explained by the dominance of the folklore paradigm in the studies of Lysenko’s music, which doesn’t focus on oriental themes. However, it is interesting how exactly this song became a meeting place for two different worldviews. Lesia Ukrainka was one of the brightest Ukrainian modernist writers, and Mykola Lysenko, who is considered the founder of the Ukrainian national school of composers, created his music in the style of late romanticism. Thus, although the oriental scenery of the song is recreated by a number of clichés, the sincerity of the protagonist is indisputable, and the work as a whole has its own artistic value.

Abstract:
The paper introduces into academic discourse two letters by S. Donich to the famous Ukrainian orientalist A. Krymskyi. The letters were written in January, 1927, before the Donich’s academic career as an Egyptologist, an archaeologist and a museum curator was started. Both letters were compiled in Arabic; the first letter was more thorough and was compiled as a sample of traditional Arabic letter (it includes coloured basmala and colophon), another letter was brief and written in European style. Such way of communication was chosen by S. Donich (amateur who independently studied oriental languages at that moment) to demonstrate his competence in Arabic to A. Krymskyi, the leading Arabist of the Ukrainian Socialist Soviet Republic, and USSA at that time. S. Donich wrote about his interest in oriental languages and their study, about his fascination for Oriental Studies, and about his difficult life circumstances that interfered him to become an academic orientalist. Donich emphasized he was a devotee of the Arabic language and informed about his translation of “The Thousand and One Night”. Some fragments of his translation into Russian he included into the letter. Thus S. Donich hoped to declare himself as a potential candidacy for further oriental study. The analysis of the content of the letters in a broader historical context, and in combination with other archive documents related to S. Donich, A. Krymskyi, and the academic Oriental Studies institutions of USSR, make it possible to uncover the circumstances in which of the individual orientalists lived and made their careers in the 1920s. It also provides us with some new facts of the biography and professional activity of S. Donich, as well as it makes possible to verify some previously known information about him. An assumption was made that these letters led to a new period of the Donich’s life, his turning to the Oriental Studies, with his later career as an Egyptologist, a museum curator and an archaeologist with his continuous interest in Arabic studies and other fields of Oriental Studies. The appendix provides a complete translation of the Arabic letters into Ukrainian together with and photographs of the documents. Key words: Ukrainian Museum Egyptology, History of Ukrainian Science, History of Ukrainian Humanities, History of Egyptology, History of Oriental Studies in Ukraine, S. Donich, A. Krymskyi.

Abstract:
The work is devoted to the study of the correlation between the motives, images, symbols, stereotypes and clichés existing in modern Ukrainian literature, which outline the Eastern philosophical tradition, and the formation and transformation of identity at different levels and types. The consideration is carried out in the context of the emergence of the latest Ukrainian myth as a basis for national ideology. The purpose of the research is to outline the paradoxical nature of the general reception and individual explications of oriental motifs in modern Ukrainian literature on the occasion of those segments that can be defined through the predications of genre or mass. The article outlines the peculiarities of the reflection of oriental motifs in modern Ukrainian literature related to the dominance of the aesthetic and philosophical influences of the paradigm of postmodernism in the national tradition during the last decades. It also notes the connection between the reception of oriental motifs in Ukrainian modern literature and the politicization of modern public discourse on the occasion of the meaning-making East-West dichotomy. Political and ideological contexts of literary discourse and speech practices acquire signs of ambivalence and function as symbolic constructions. The dual nature of the reception of the image and philosophy of the East in the Ukrainian literary tradition and mass consciousness of both the metaphysical East and the geopolitical East has been clarified. The direction of transformation of oriental motives and images in the mass consciousness and literary usus in the context of finding the identity of different types and levels of generality in Ukrainian society and culture is also recorded. The liminal type of culture correlates with a divided society, and as a result the rational-educational interpretation of the image of the East as the antithesis of the West interacts with the postmodern fusion and mutual determination of East and West.

Hundorova, Tamara. "ROMA AS A MATRIX OF THE ‘OTHER’IN THE PROJECTION OF ORIENTALISM, RACE, AND NATION IN THE WORKS BY OLHA KOBYLIANSKA." Слово і Час, no. 6 (December 13, 2023): 3–19. http://dx.doi.org/10.33608/0236-1477.2023.06.3-19.

Abstract:
The paper analyzes the images of Romani in the works by Olha Kobylianska against the background of the multiethnic situation in Bukovyna, and traces the influence of the anthropological interpretation of the Gypsies as a race and a pre-modern people on the representation of Romani in the literature of the Romanticism period and the 2nd half of the 19th century. Kobylianska treats the Gypsies not only as an exotic ‘other’ but also as an integral part of the cultural and ethnic identity of Ukrainian society and analyzes the relationship between Romani as monads and settled peasants, as well as the processes of assimilation and integration of Gypsies into the Ukrainian environment. By depicting the colourful images of the Roma in her works, Kobylianska unfolds conflict situations related to the struggle for land and the participation of ‘outsiders’ in them. The Gypsy is a figure of the stranger who serves as a matrix of ‘otherness’ for her and functions in various semantic projections. Such a matrix is projected onto the life of Hutsuls as children of nature; it correlates with the situation of reversed gender, in particular feminine identity; it serves as an attribute of exotic and oriental racial otherness. Adopting romantic oriental stereotypes about Gypsies, Kobylianska, in accordance with the anthropology of the time, marks them racially (through the signification of the ‘black’ body) and geographically (through their belonging to the Oriental world). At the same time, she brings these images closer to Ukrainian life and everyday routine and doesn’t ignore the assimilation and relations between Ukrainians and Gypsies. Settled and nomadic peoples, insiders and outsiders become the backdrop against which Kobylianska unfolds the drama of shaping the modern Ukrainian nation.

The article highlights the difficult and long way of preparing the encyclopedic work titled Ukrainians in China. In particular, it describes many interesting facts, starting from the conception and collection of materials that began in the 90s of the last century, to important recent archival research, the processing of which somewhat delayed the publication of this encyclopedic reference. The appearance of the encyclopedic book, which is the subject of this article, significantly fills the gap about the Ukrainians in East Asia, their political and cultural life. So, in this way, it contributes to the currently Ukrainian Oriental studies. The considered encyclopedic work is also a contribution to the development of encyclopedic practice of contemporary Ukraine.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the sources of the formation of a linguistic persona of the future famous scholar, writer, translator, and polyglot – Ahatanhel Krymskyi. In the article there has been conducted an analysis of the communicative geographical and epistolary discursive area of A. Krymskyi at the times of his childhood and adolescence. These periods of his life we consider the decisive ones for his linguistic individualization and the definition of the parameters of a linguistic persona. The linguistic persona’s features were caused by the origin of A. Krymskyi (the Crimean Tartar roots, an intelligent family of a teacher of history and geography and a Polish Lithuanian noble woman), and his unique abilities (the boy learned to read at the age of 3 and a half, had a phenomenal memory, and an analytical brain). A great role was played by the multilingual and multicultural places of dwelling and studying, namely the following towns and cities: Volodymyr Volynskyi, Zvenyhorodka, Ostroh, Kyiv (such languages as Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, and Yiddish were spoken there and different ethnic cultures cooperated), Moscow (A. Krymskyi was surrounded by the Russian, Ukrainian, and other languages; a Ukrainian community was actively working), Beirut (in the city, the Arabic, French, Russian, and other languages were spoken; there was a unique environment of Eastern/Oriental cultures). The formation of a polyglot was favoured by the study of classical languages, Western European, Slavonic and Eastern / Oriental languages at the secondary and higher educational institutions. The evolution of scientific abilities of the specialist in the Ukrainian, Slavonic and Oriental studies was supported by the highly professional teachers (first of all Pavlo Zhytetskyi in Kyiv and Vsevolod Miller, Oleksii Veselovskyi, Ihnatii Krachkovskyi in Moscow). The communication with famous people (Ivan Franko, Borys Hrinchenko, Omelian Ohonovskyi, Mykhailo Pavlyk, Lesia Ukrainka and others) intensified the Ukrainian vector of the linguistic persona of A. Krymskyi. Creative possibilities of the linguopersona-writer and translator are reflected in his literary and translation heritage (the collection of poems “Palm branches” (1901, 1908), “The Stories of Beirut” (1906), the novel “Andrii Lahovskyi” (1905, a full version was published in 1972), translations of the poetry by Hafez, Omar Khayyam, Saadi, Ferdowsi, Turkish folk songs and others into Ukrainian and Russian.

Modern Oriental studies regard the East as the cradle of the world’s civilization, a webof unique cultural formations. Within the modern East–West paradigm, the research into thevalues of tradition should be underpinned by dominant axiological concepts in order tosystematize contemporary ideas of the world, nature, the individual and mentality. In accordancewith the central methodological principle of the research, archetypes are regarded as culturaluniversals. In the article, the typology of the cosmological and the spiritual elements (the Moonand the Word respectively) in the Oriental and Ukrainian traditions are highlighted, the emphasisbeing laid on the analysis of the semantic and thematic fields of the two archetypes

Abstract:
The thesis analyzes the root causes of the current Ukrainian crisis triggered by the Euromajdan revolts of 2014 and the consequent international crisis directly involving the Russian Federation, and indirectly the whole international community. The thesis also reconstructs the secular geopolitical role of Ukraine in the broader dynamics of interstate relations of Central and Eastern Europe. The present research is an in-depth, four hundred page exploration of the many aspects of this crisis with all the complexities of its intertwined dimensions. The research employed inputs from the classical Renouvin’s forces profondes imprint; thus exploring and accounting for historical, geopolitical, diplomatic, economic, juridical, cultural and religious aspects. With the aim to produce a reference study of the historiography of Ukraine and its relationship with Moscow and the wider regional context, aided by a sound bibliography and a valuable source of notes, the author decided to begin from the ancient times of Herodotus and the collapse of the Roman Empire and work his way forward through the genesis of the Kievan Rus', up to the most recent XXI century’s geopolitics.

Publication of the Lexicon of Polish and Ukrainian active phraseology gyi is an extremely important phenomenon in modern Slavic studies. Lexicon is the first work in the history of Polish and Ukrainian lexicography, which represents semantic correspondences of Polish and Ukrainian phraseological units. Among other types of word combinations, such language units are distinguished by their complex semantics, highly oriented to the national linguistic picture of the world. The advantage of Lexicon is that to its register included the most common phraseological units in the modern language, as well as phraseological innovations that had not been recorded in Polish and Ukrainian phraseological dictionaries until now.

Abstract:
After briefly dealing with arguments for and against NATO's enlargement as far as Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary, the author shows why the enlargement process must be carried forward to include, in the near future, the three Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) and Ukraine. Inclusion of the Baltic States and of Ukraine in NATO would stabilize the region by helping the Russian democrats to concentrate on building a genuinely democratic, market-oriented Russian national state, instead of succumbing to the temptation to restore the Soviet Union. Ukraine could also contribute to NATO a sizable conventional military force and a prime strategic area; the Baltic States offer a prime location and an indomitable spirit. The Balts and Ukraine will help NATO when finally admitted as full members. Using polling data, printed material, and interviews with Lithuanian and Ukrainian diplomats, the book convincingly shows the soundness of the Baltic and Ukrainian security goals without glossing over some difficulties, both internal and external.

Abstract:
This volume was prepared in the year of the 150th anniversary of the Patriarch of Ukrainian and Russian Oriental Studies, Academician A. E. Krymsky. This is reflected in a special rubric. The subject of the almanakh concerns in a wide range of problems of ethno-cultural history of Eastern and Central Europe. Studies of the written sources are also presented to the ideas of al-Biruni about the localization of the Khazars, the origin of the ethnonym of the Masakha-Hun in the work of Agafangel, the problems of studying the early medieval Eastern European runic. Archaeological publications are widely presented, which introduce the little-studied issues of Saltovo archeology: the origin and functional purpose of shoe straps from the catacombs of the Verkhnesaltovsky burial ground; pagan burials of the Saltov type from the settlements of the Kerch Peninsula; comparative analysis of the armament of the Don and North Caucasian Alans; the place and functions of large forest-steppe settlements in the history of the Khazar Khaganate. The main archaeological problem of the volume is the research and preservation of the Right-bank Tsimlyansk site. Articles are devoted to this, which raise the issues of protective excavations of the site, the uniqueness of ceramic tiles from the site, the history of drawing up plans for the Right-bank Tsimlyansk site. The volume is completed with the rubrics of «Discussion», «Reviews», In memoriam.

Abstract:
This chapter develops the theoretical framework structuring the entire volume: the tension and dynamics between state nationalism and grassroots/societal nationalism in Russia. Against a historical canvas extending from the late eighteenth century to the present, the chapter argues that Russian state authorities have always attempted to neutralise emerging civic nationalism that appeals to the principle of popular sovereignty by substituting it with the paternalistic idea of ‘official nationality’, based on anti-Western ideological stances, great-power chauvinism and xenophobia. This ‘political technology’ has repeatedly been employed by tsarist, Soviet and post-Soviet rulers – most recently during the Ukrainian crisis and in response to the growth of democracy-oriented Russian nationalists of the ‘national-democratic’ movement. The chapter concludes that at present, there are in Russia no political forces that could initiate a deconstruction of the prevailing imperial consciousness.

Abstract:
‘Central Europe’ is a concept that varies in time and space. Ukraine is the second-largest country on the European continent, and is geographically located south-west of the Eastern European plain. The peculiarity of historical development and geographical location leads to the portrayal of Ukraine as a civilizational frontier area between the countries of the West and East. The nineteenth century was the period of birth of national histories, equally among non-historical (stateless) and historical (state) nations, while at the same time, at any historical moment, one can find the predecessor of the modern nation. The coherence of the Ukrainian narrative is ensured by proto-state and state forms: Kyivan Rus, the Principality of Galicia-Volhynia, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Cossack era, Ukrainian statehood in 1917–1921, Soviet era, Carpatho-Ukraine’s autonomous existence in 1938–1939, and independent Ukraine since 1991. The Kyivan Rus was oriented towards Byzantium, and the Principality towards Western Europe. The Hetmanate’s political structure recognised as a historical Cossack statehood. In the mid-17th century, the Cossack uprising led by Bohdan Khmelnytsky brought to the fore the dilemma of pro-Moscow or pro-Polish (in fact, pro-European) orientation. Since the late 18th century, Ukrainian territories have become the periphery of the empires, and ties with Europe have weakened. Europe almost forgot about Ukraine’s existence. The central powers of the First World War attempted to tear Ukraine away from Russia and push it politically and civilizationally towards the West, albeit without any international interest in the question of Ukrainian statehood aspirations. Later, the Soviet Union created Ukrainian borders, but deprived the Ukrainians of any political activity. Pro-European Union tendencies were always present in independent Ukraine, but only took definite shape following the Revolution of Dignity in 2014. In 2014 Ukraine and the European Union signed the Association Agreement, came into effect in 2017. Russia’s disastrous full-scale invasion against Ukraine accelerated Ukraine–EU rapprochement, and as a result Ukraine was granted EU candidate status in 2022. Europeanisation is not only a process of identity construction, but also a value-based supranational ‘ways of doing things’. In this context, Ukraine’s place in the buffer zone between Eastern and Western Europe has changed over the centuries. The study analyses the development of opinions on this topic, based on the works of some selected Ukrainian and Ukrainian-descent thinkers from the 19th century to the present day.

In this chapter, the authors investigate the potential of project-oriented game-based learning in making students of educational institutes more engaged and gain a deep understanding of the curriculum content. The literature review presents the main definitions and benefits of project-oriented game-based learning, followed by its contribution to improving the performance of students' training. The results of the research are based on testing the main statements of project-oriented game-based learning empirically – if it really can provide additional value for learners in higher education. The empirical data have been collected based on Ukrainian case study and allow the authors to prove the influence of project-oriented game-based learning on increasing students' engagement, satisfaction, performance, and improving learning outcomes. The main idea of the teaching project was to take as an object of the research a character from a fairytale and analyze its managerial activities. The chapter also analyzes the e-learning instruments which can be used in remote teaching.

Abstract:
The military shocks caused by the Russian-Ukrainian war became the hardest test for Ukrainian businesses and its social functions. In the first year of hostilities alone, losses of Ukrainian business-assets are estimated at $11.3 billion, which significantly limited companies’ opportunities for corporate social responsibility (CSR). The purpose of the article is to find out how the war changed the CSR model of Ukrainian businesses in the institutional and social dimension. The methodology of system analysis, sociology and institutionalism was used for the study. Primary limitations of our research are related to the objective impossibility in war conditions of obtaining actual statistical and corporate reporting data. Certain difficulties arise in finding publicly available information about relocated enterprises and companies. The key findings of our study lie in the substantiation of the connection between socially-oriented transformations in the Ukrainian CSR model under military shocks and the positive effect of these transformations on strengthening the Ukraine’s economic and societal resilience in wartime. It is advisable to take this into account in the case of developing government policy and state anti-crisis management.

Abstract:
The contemporary capitalistic social order has reached its apogee and starts to decline. COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated economic and financial problems. Digitalization of production processes, automation and robotization of production leads to the elimination of jobs, and hence, to a reduction of the tax base that leads to the destruction of existing institutions of social security. Universal Basic Income or Unconditional Basic Income (UBI) as a way of distribution of public goods and a form of social welfare has been considered in recent decades as the foundation for a social component of a new social order. We interpret UBI in terms of the Ukrainian citizens’ happiness. The main task of the government in this respect is to eliminate factors of social discomfort in citizens’ lives. UBI as a passive income provides a citizen with the feeling of dignity, creates favourable conditions for self-accomplishment, strengthens national identity, provides economy and the Ukrainian commodity producers with solvent customers. The Single Digital Fiscal Accounting Payment System (SDFAPS) is introduced as a tool for UBI implementation; it elimination corruption and serves as a foundation for a new social justice. Keywords: Universal Basic Income (UBI), happiness, a new social order, Single Digital Fiscal Accounting Payment System (SDFAPS).

Abstract:
Project management skills (PM skills) play an essential role in advancing sustainable development (SD) objectives. Project management as a goal-oriented approach aligns with the SD framework. They provide a structured framework for planning, implementing, and monitoring projects, making them invaluable for advancing Sustainable Development Goals. They support effective stakeholder engagement, risk management, and adaptive approaches, while also fostering cross-cutting competencies that are vital for addressing sustainability challenges in diverse contexts. Project management is crucial in the workplace nowadays, and possessing these skills can significantly enhance students’ employability prospects. This research aims to analyze the coverage of project management skills and competencies in the Ukrainian academic standards and generalize the recommendations for effectively embedding these skills into the curriculum. Methodology. Qualitative content analysis of Ukrainian academic standards developed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. 38 academic standards for master’s contain project management skills. There are challenges with the implementation of the standards in terms of alignment between the standards and the academic programmes, including teaching-learning-assessment practices. Project-based learning and interdisciplinary projects are essential for ESD and PM skills development. Interdisciplinarity is a pillar of ESD and this will open project management concepts and practices for non-management students as they navigate the complexities of team dynamics, task delegation, and project coordination. Mentoring and peer-to-peer learning could be effective tools for ESD and for PM-skills development. Peer learning groups where senior students can guide non-management students in developing project management skills. The mentorship can provide valuable guidance, feedforward, and feedback throughout project-based learning.

Abstract:
The author characterized the Ukrainian national values, national interests and national goals. It is emphasized that national values are conceptual, ideological bases, consolidating factors, important life guidelines on the way to effective protection of Ukraine from Russian aggression and building a democratic, united Ukrainian state. Author analyzes the functioning of the mass media in the context of educational propaganda of individual, social and state values, the dominant core of which are patriotism, human rights and freedoms, social justice, material and spiritual wealth of Ukrainians, natural resources, morality, peace, religiosity, benevolence, national security, constitutional order. These key national values are a strong moral and civic core, a life-giving element, a self-affirming synergy, which on the basis of homogeneity binds the current Ukrainian society with the ancestors and their centuries-old material and spiritual heritage. Attention is focused on the fact that the current problem of building the Ukrainian state and protecting it from the brutal Moscow invaders is directly dependent on the awareness of all citizens of the essence of national values, national interests, national goals and filling them with the meaning of life, charitable socio-political life. It is emphasized that the missionary vocation of journalists to orient readers and listeners to the meaningful choice of basic national values, on the basis of which Ukrainian citizens, regardless of nationality together they will overcome the external Moscow and internal aggression of the pro-Russian fifth column, achieve peace, return the Ukrainian territories seized by the Kremlin imperialists and, in agreement will build Ukrainian Ukraine.

Abstract:
The phenomenon of news games on the topic of the Russian-Ukrainian war of 2022-2023 has been explored in the article. During the research, a number of gaming projects from this period were analyzed, their genre and thematic specificity were determined, examples of gaming products were provided, and our own concept of a news game on the topical subject of wartime was presented. In 2022-2023, many game projects on the theme of the war in Ukraine appeared, which can be fully or partially classified as news games, conditionally dividing them into “civilian” ones, where the game character is a volunteer, an immigrant, a peaceful resident of the occupied territory, etc. and “combat”, in which the character is a Ukrainian soldier or combat unit. These games are primarily developed by gaming studios or individual game developers, rather than journalistic editorial teams, and they target an international audience (almost all the analyzed games have an English version). We categorize these news games as “entertainment” (those primarily oriented towards humor, boosting morale, and using current information or media images) and “serious” (those attempting to explain, reveal the essence, and show the war through the eyes of witnesses). According to the level of technical implementation, these games can be divided into “simple” ones (browser-based, requiring no download or payment) and “complex” ones that offer extended gameplay and are available only through subscription. Almost all gaming projects encourage donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and charitable funds, and the authors of paid games always emphasize that a portion of the proceeds will go towards supporting Ukrainian military personnel. Despite their significant potential, news games currently occupy a small niche in the Ukrainian media landscape. At the same time, in our opinion, the creative possibilities offered by the gaming mechanism of this interactive narrative are quite promising for explaining and revealing various socially important topics related to the Russian-Ukrainian war. Keywords: gamification; news games; game format; game research.

Abstract:
The modern development of science and technology has provided high quantity of information. This information must be systemized and classified. For taxonomization of educational materials, it was proposed to use existing graph-generators and graph-visualizers of the TODOS IT platform. A separate aspect of the TODOS IT platform is the possibility of using a centralized web-oriented learning environment. Creation of the system and transdisciplinary knowledge is a problem of modern education, which can be solved by creating a centralized web-oriented educational environment. Using this approach is an important part of the learning process. Such a centralized web-oriented environment based on the ontological approach involves filling, adaptive educational services with information resources that reflect the conceptual system of a particular discipline. One of the systems providing not only collection of information but include its systemizing is centralized web-oriented educational environment based on Ontology4 system. Ontology 4 use elements of the TODOS. The paper presents specific developments of one centralized web-oriented educational environment can be used to teach different subjects such as biology, chemistry, Ukrainian language and literature, using the STEM approach.

Abstract:
The paper examines the discursive and linguistic means of appeals of the Ukrainian President V. Zelensky in 2020 to citizens on the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our analysis results suggest that in Ukraine, the rhetoric of the President's appeals demonstrates the spread of nationally oriented power mechanisms of discourse, which depend on the social context more than in highly developed countries. We compare the organization of V. Zelensky's statements about COVID-19, which are addressed to ordinary citizens and government officials. We conclude that the President appeals most to national values and symbols, transforming them into a radical national hope.
