Abstract:
This study aimed to analyze the effect of uchikomi movement exercise using kettler rubber to improve male judoka's physical abilities. This study uses an experimental method. A total of 22 male judoka participated as study samples and were randomly divided into two groups. The experimental group (21.8±1.78 years, 1.70±0.06 m, 71.1±13.5 kg) and control group (21.4±2.30 years, 1.72±0.05 m, 67.4±7.76 kg). The exercise program was carried out for 8 weeks with a frequency of 3 times/week. After warming up and before core judo training, the experimental group was treated with uchikomi movement training using kettler rubber. Meanwhile, the control group continued regular judo training. The statistical analysis procedure used an ANOVA test to determine the difference and comparison of pre-test and post-test mean values in experimental and control groups with a significance level (p<0.05). The results showed that parameter difference in the average value of experimental and control groups was significant on the performance of leg power and VO2Max endurance. In comparison, no significant differences occur in handgrip strength, flexibility, and speed. This study concludes that uchikomi seoi-nage movement exercise using a Kettler rubber produces changes in the performance of judoka physical abilities. However, a significant difference occurred in the performance of leg power and VO2Max endurance

Abstract:
Myobiid mites of the subgenus Radfordia (Microtimyobia) (Acariformes: Myobiidae) associated with hosts of the subfamilies Arvicolinae and Cricetinae (Cricetidae) are revised. Three new species are described from voles: R. (M.) dinaromys sp. nov. from Dinaromys bogdanovi from Montenegro, R. (M.) golenishchevi sp. nov. from Eothenomys wardi from China (Mekong River), and R. (M.) pitymys sp. nov. from Microtus pinetorum from USA (Virginia). Radfordia (M.) lemnina micromys Fain and Lukoschus, 1976 syn. nov., R. (M.) lemnina mikado Uchikawa et al., 1997 syn. nov., R. (M.) stekolnikovi Bochkov and Mironov, 1998 syn. nov., and R. (M.) stenocrani Bochkov and Mironov, 1998 syn. nov. are synonymized with R. (M.) lemnina (Koch, 1941); R. (M.) rutila Fain and Lukoschus, 1977 syn. nov. and R. (M.) lemnina hata Uchikawa et al., 1997 syn. nov. are synonymized with R. clethrionomys Fain and Lukoschus, 1977; R. (M.) lemnina japonica Uchikawa et al., 1997 syn. nov. is synonymized with R. (M.) rufocani Bochkov, 1995; R. (M.) macdonaldi Gill and Strandtmann, 1977 syn. nov. is synonymized with R. (M.) arctica Fain and Lukoschus, 1977; R. (M.) cricetulus pakistanensis Fain and Hyland, 1980 syn. nov. is synonymized with R. (M.) cricetulus Fain, 1973. The female and male keys to all 21 currently recognized Microtimyobia spp. are provided. The host distribution of Microtimyobia spp. is analyzed. These mites serve as peculiar “markers” of particular host groupings and in many cases are useful tools to test some controversial hypotheses of cricetid phylogeny, including the intriguing problem of phylogenetic relationships of the Palearctic and Nearctic voles of the genus Microtus.

Judo is a worldwide practiced sport which requires physical fitness for better performance. For the fulfilment of the techniques, it is necessary the coordination of lower and inferior limbs, as well as the synchronization of power delivered by the limbs to achieve efficiency on the gesture. The objective of the present study was to develop an equipment for the performance evaluation of the judo technique Osotogari during uchikomi training, through the behavior of strength signals. The device had 4 load cells placed on four locations of the uke’s body (one who receives the technique) on the tori (one who performs the technique) while applying the technique. The device as built based on a dummy, with one load cell placed on the left side of the chest, other on the back side of the right thigh. The dummy was dressed in a adapted kimono, that received a load cell on the right sleeve and another one on the left side collar. 12 subjects of right side dominance took part on the survey, 7 of them were beginners and 5 were experienced. Each of these subjects performed 1 serie of 10 repetitions of Osotogari. A significant difference was observed between experienced subjects and beginners for the sleeve and the collar load cells data. In the other hand, no significant difference was observed on the chest and thigh load cells. Moderate linear correlation was observed between peak force data of the sleeve and collar load cells, which can be explained by the hands’ temporal synchronization and rhythm. It was observed that there is an ideal moment to apply strength when performing the technique, in order to achieve better performance. The dummy is intended to meet the need for more practical performance analysis methods, contributing this way to the advance in athletes training

Abstract:
Abstract Toyota was the first company to successfully implement what are now known as just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing practices. Toyota began disseminating these practices to other Japanese manufacturers, including its competitors, in the 1970s. The domestic dissemination process was largely complete by the late 1970s. The JIT concept was first introduced to English-speaking engineering and management practitioners in an article by a group of Toyota employees, Sugimori, Kusunoki, Cho, and Uchikawa (1977). They characterize the Toyota production system as having two equally important features: (1) the JIT production system, which provides “only the necessary products, at the necessary time, in the necessary quantity,” and (2) Toyota’s “respect-for-human” system of encouraging active employee participation, eliminating wasteful movement by workers, protecting workers’ safety, and empowering workers with greater responsibility and authority in the workplace. Kimura and Terada (1981), also Toyota employees, describe Toyota’s JIT production system as a “pull system” with three goals: (1) preventing the transmission of the amplified fluctuations of demand or production volume from a succeeding process to the preceding process; (2) minimizing the fluctuation of in-process inventory so as to simplify inventory control; and (3) decentralizing management authority by allowing shop floor supervisors and foremen to make decisions on production and inventory control.
