This thesis aplied tools of economic analysis on situation in poker, where players choose to finish tournament or make a deal and take certain amount of money immediately. Theoretical frame consists of economic theories for decesion under risk and poker literature. Hypotheses are tested with regresion analysis on dataset which I obtain by my own observing. Estimations support hypothesis that players are risk-averze and loss-averze. In bigger tournaments are bigger prizepools and that is the reason, why players in bigger tournament make deals more often. Moreover deal is more likely, when players are approximetly equal skilled in poker.

This thesis is about the creation of a simulator of football leagues and championships. I studied the problematics of football competitions and their systems and also about the base of machine learning. There was also an analysis of similar and existing solutions and I took inspiration for my proposal from them. After that, I made the design of the whole simulator structure and of all of its key parts. Then the simulator was implemented and tested. The application allows simulating top five competitions in UEFA club coefficients rating.

Práce se zabývá rozvrhováním sportovních turnajů. Turnaje se rozvrhují podle různých losovacích tabulek, které jsou v práci popsány a následně také porovnány na základě předem stanovených požadavků na losovací tabulky. Vše je ukázáno na příkladě konkrétního turnaje. Při tvorbě těchto tabulek se využívají mimo jiné i poznatky vycházející z teorie grafů a kombinatorických optimalizačních metod.

The implementation of Wavelength Division Multiplexing system (WDM) optical fibre transmission systems has the potential to realise this high capacity data rate exceeding 10 Tb/s. The ability to reconfigure optical networks is a desirable attribute for future metro applications where light paths can be set up or taken down dynamically as required in the network. The use of microelectronics in conjunction with photonics enables intelligence to be added to the high-speed capability of photonics, thus realising reconfigurable optical devices which can revolutionise optical telecommunications and many more application areas. In this thesis, we investigate and demonstrate the capability of Opto-VLSI processors to realise a reconfigurable WDM optical device of many functions, namely, optical multiband filtering, optical notch filtering, and reconfigurable-Optical-Add-Drop Multiplexing (ROADM). We review the potential technologies available for tunable WDM components, and discuss their advantages and disadvantages. We also develop a simple yet effective algorithm that optimises the performance of Opto-VLSI processors, and demonstrate experimentally the multi-function WDM devices employing Opto-VLSI processors. Finally, the feasibility of Opto-VLSI-based WDM devices in meeting the stringent requirements of the optical communications industry is discussed.

Through various primary and secondary research methods, a University of Arizona technology from the Optics Department was analyzed in terms of new venture viability and sustainability in Southern Arizona. Tunable Fourier Transform Spectropolarimeter (TFTS) has applications in military, biology and astronomy by using polarization to distinguish different objects such as cancer cells. The technology measures details of how an object within an image can change the polarization of light compared to how other object in that same image changes the polarization. Innovative aspects of the technology include tenability, achromaticity and the bandwidth size. The technology however only worked in a laboratory setting and further development was ceased due to lack of funding and interest from outside investor groups. Primary data sources included the inventor (Dr. Dereniak), the lead optics licensor (Amy Phillips), cancer center employees (Dr. Bartels, Mr. Yozwiak), and patent application. Secondary sources included, but not limited to, informational databases, medical journals, optical journals, office of technology transfer, and small business innovation research. Based on information gathered and consulting work, two recommendations were presented to increase the likelihood of the University benefiting from innovation: *Addition of an Innovation Fund to yearly Tucson conference called Idea Funding. Innovation Fund is a $50,000 prize for the most promising technology based on detailed criteria. Along with the prize, remaining competitors would receive needed exposure to increase funding possibility. *Creation of a research funding position at the Office of Technology Transfer. It would be the duty of this employee to research and aid in the grant application process for all of the technologies at the OTT.

The practical part then includes the actual business plan with all the necessities and provides information on what, how, to whom and for how much the company wants to offer. The goal of this thesis was to create the right tool for establishing the company and to make a decision of meaning of this project on its basis.

Lorsque Pierre de Larivey publie ses six premières comédies en 1579, la comédie n'a pas encore répondu totalement aux aspirations des auteurs de la première génération de la Pléiade qui prétendaient enrichir la langue française, combattre le latin et la farce, et exalter la grandeur nationale de la France par l'imitation des texte antiques et italiens qu'ils traduisaient. Malgré les nouveautés proposées, il faudra attendre la seconde génération d'auteurs comiques, parmi lesquels Larivey est le meilleur représentant, pour que la comédie puisse s'imposer et prétendre rivaliser avec le modèle italien, dont elle tire profit, et le genre noble de la tragédie. Le type de réponse apporté, et plus particulièrement le travail effectué par Larivey pour repenser ce genre en devenir, suscite dès lors des interrogations. Par ailleurs, si l'ensemble des neuf pièces de Larivey semble désigner ce traducteur/adaptateur de pièces italiennes comme le principal actant du renouvellement et de l'émancipation de la comédie française à partir de l'apport italien, d'autres italianisants de la même génération, tels Louis Le Jars, François d'Amboise et Odet de Turnèbe, ont également pris part à ce grand projet qui, tout en rénovant le genre comique lui-même, participe de l'évolution et de l'affirmation de la langue française. Notre étude se propose donc, à partir de la lecture du comique d'œuvres publiées fin XVIe-début XVIIe siècle, de déterminer la nature des liens qui unissent ces dramaturges et de mieux comprendre comment la comédie française a pu être renouvelée et mise au service de leurs aspirations les plus nobles et les plus ambitieusesPierre de Larivey published his first six comedies in 1579, before the theatrical comedy had managed to fulfill the aspirations of the first generation of la Pleiade authors – namely, to enrich the French language, to fight Latin and farce, and to exalt the greatness of the French nation by imitating the very Ancient and Italian texts they translated. In spite of the innovations this first generation of authors introduced, it was not until the second generation, among whom Larivey is the best representative, that the comedy was able to come into its own, and to challenge the Italian model, of which it takes advantage, and to rival as well the noble genre of the tragedy. The precise nature of the innovations they introduced, and more specifically the actual work done by Larivey to rethink this evolving genre, both raise profound questions from this point forward. Larivey’s nine plays seem to designate this translator/adaptor of Italian plays as the main agent of the revival and emancipator of the French comedy from its Italian roots. But other Italianates of the same generation, such as Louis le Jars, Francois d’Ambroise, and Odet de Turnèbe, also took part in this ambitious project, which not only revitalized the comic genre, but also contributed to the evolution and affirmation of the French language itself. From the close reading of comic works published from the late sixteenth to the early seventeenth centuries, this study aims to determine the nature of the links between these playwrights, and to understand better how they helped to revitalize the French comedy and to place it at the service of their noblest and most ambitious aspirations

The aim of this thesis is to verify the hypothesis on real data based on economic theory and these theories to confirm or reject. The first part deals with testing of hypotheses based on the game theory and tests whether tennis players play according to the minimax theory. The Hypotheses analyse the data for strong and weak players, considering their service, and verify which group of players converge in their strategies toward minimax theory assumptions. Specifically, theory components of the hypotheses are tested within this part: i) the probability of winning the game serving from the right side of a court is the same as the probability of winning the game serving from the left side, ii) this hypothesis will hold true rather in case of stronger players serving against weaker players than in case equally strong players playing against each other and iii) Based on the assumption that women do not excel distinctively in serving, the results in the women's matches will be worse in the minimax theory than results from men's matches. Hypotheses derived from the theory of elimination tournaments are tested in the second part of the diploma thesis. The hypotheses are analysed on the tennis data whether players make less effort in uneven tournaments, regardless of their position as favourite or outsider, than the theory presumes. The analysis of the above mentioned hypotheses was performed on the data from the Grand Slam tournaments in the years 2011 and 2012. Hypotheses are tested using both male and female data. The results obtained from analysis of the data confirm the hypotheses.

The theoretical part is focused on basic methods of operation research, linear programming and assignment problems are described in greater detail. The thesis presents the principles of sports tournaments and selected optimization softwares in the next part. In the practical part own mathematical models for sport scheduling are introduced. The solution procedure is demonstrated on real life problem of sports scheduling for actual men's basketball season. This example provides the reader with complex concept of solving process of sport scheduling problems.

The diploma thesis deals with satisfaction measurement of participants of sport event. This sports event is international junior curling cup in Prague. The aim of thesis is to analyze participants satisfaction with this tournament. Based on these results some critical factors will be identified and also recommendations for organizers of the tournament will be listed to improve the quality of the tournament for next years. In a first part of the thesis there are described customer satisfaction theory and techniques for its measurements. According to suitability for this case the questionnaire survey will be applied. After short introduction to the tournament and some curling rules and specifics analysis of the survey results will be described. More evaluation methods will be used. Based on results from this analysis recommendations for tournament improvement will be given.

Resumo: Os softwares CAM existentes hoje no mercado permitem facilmente automatizar a geração de programas em linguagem CNC a partir de um modelo CAD. As trajetórias da ferramenta são calculadas respeitando-se a geometria final da peça. No entanto, estes programas, em geral, não disponibilizam recursos para corretamente estimar os parâmetros de usinagem (velocidade de corte, avanço, profundidade de usinagem), bem como sua influência em grandezas relevantes ao processo, como a força de corte e a rugosidade. Cria-se, assim, um descompasso com a realidade fisica do processo. Adicionalmente, tais programas não foram desenvolvidos com abordagem didática, possuindo pré-requisitos (interface CAD, domínio de idioma estrangeiro etc.) que dificultam ao estudante o fácil aprendizado de processos de usinagem a CNC. Este trabalho busca então abordar estes problemas vivenciados por escolas técnicas, desenvolvendo um módulo computacional, acoplado a um software CNC didático comercial para torneamento, que permita a predição de esforços de usinagem e rugosidade em tempo de programação CNC. Optou-se pela técnica da rede neural como núcleo, uma vez que permite aproximações bastante satisfatórias do processo de torneamento. Os resultados indicam que os modelos de rede neurais adotados (perceptron multi-camadas e função de base radial) aproximam de forma satisfatória o comportamento da força de corte e rugosidade, em função dos parâmetros de usinagem escolhidos (velocidade de corte, avanço e profundidade de corte) em uma série de casos de uso, utilizando-se o módulo computacional desenvolvido
Abstract: The majority of CAM software in the market allows the user to easily create the CNC program through CAD models. The tool paths are ca1culated in respect to the final piece geometry. However, these software do not permit, as part of their functionality, to estimate the cutting parameters (cutting speed, feed and depth of cut), as well as their influence in process variables such as cutting force and roughness. There is, in that sense, a gap between the geometrical and physical scenario of the machining process. Additionally, such software were not developed with didactical requirements, which makes difficult to the students the learning of the machining concepts using the CNC technology. The CAD and the foreign language interface are examples of such fact. This work targets to approach these remarks which are particularly common among the Technical Schools, developing a computational module, embedded in a commercial CNC didactic software, capable of predicting cutting forces (in roughing) and surface roughness (in finishing) at programming time. It was used a neural network technique as the base core, since it allows good estimative of turning process. The results indicate that the ANN topologies (Multilayer Perpectron and Radial Basis function) correlate satisfactorily with the experimental behavior of the cutting force and roughness regarding the input parameters chosen (cutting speed, feed and depth of cut) for different cases using the software prototype

This dissertation consists of five articles about economics of sports. The first three articles investigate various types of outcome uncertainty and how they relate to match attendance demand, while the remaining two articles test the efficiency of sports betting markets. The first article presents a new method of calculating match importance. Unlike the previous approaches in the literature, it does not require ex-post information and can be used for any type of season outcome. The second article shows that the additional playoff stage in the Czech ice hockey "Extraliga" lowers the probability of the strongest team becoming a champion and thus increases seasonal uncertainty. The third article demonstrates that the inconsistent findings in the literature about the link between match uncertainty and attendance could be explained by wrongly specified regressions, proposes a new approach to analyzing the effect of match uncertainty and shows that attendance demand is maximized if teams of the same quality play against each other. The fourth article examines the favorite-longshot bias in the context of betting on tennis matches. It shows that the favorite-longshot bias pattern is consistent with bookmakers protecting themselves against both better informed insiders and the general public exploiting new information. The fifth article investigates the supposedly profitable strategy of betting on soccer draws using the Fibonacci sequence. The strategy is tested both in a simulated market and on a real data set and found to lose money.

The thesis is aimed to analyze parameters of antennas, and work out the computer, which can be used to the modeling of the radiation of antennas of the VUT 100 aircraft. First, used antennas are divided according to the operation frequencies, and the polarization. Second, a MATLAB program is developed and described. The program computes radiation patterns at different frequencies for the different location of antennas on the VUT aircraft. Finally, the MATLAB optimization program is develop and described. The program changes the position of antennas so that the requirements of aircraft producer can be met.

Title: Management of the McDonald's Cup 2015 final tournament Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to provide a detailed analysis of the management of the McDonald's Cup 2015 final tournament known as the Festival of Football, to present its strengths, weaknesses, potential opportunities and threats and then, based on previous analyses, to create a list of suggestions and recommendations leading to the elimination of the weaknesses and threats and thus to development, increase of the popularity and to improvement of the hosting the McDonald's Cup in the next years. Methods: In order to achieve the objectives of this thesis, within the case study methods of participating observation, informal in-depth interview, document analysis and SWOT analysis were used. Results: The thesis describes in detail the whole process of organizing the mentioned youth sports event from the preparatory phase through the planning phase and implementation to completion and evaluation. The case study revealed deficiencies of the event especially in the area of financial security, promotion and in the event program. On this basis, a series of suggestions and recommendations leading to the elimination of these deficiencies and to further development of the project in the next years. These results are partially...

Title: The organization of tournament within the scope of handball education at primary school. Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to verify how different organization of handball tournament affects the efficiency of teaching or what type of tournament is more interesting for pupils and which one they would prefer themselves. Another objective is to determine whether the pupils would be interested in annual organizing of tournament. Our task is to organize two different tournaments, knock-out tournament and group tournament. By using the questionnaire method we get the information which consequently evaluate and use for determining of the conclusion of this thesis. Methods: We used questionnaire method and comparison method in this thesis. We applied questionnaire method in analysis of particular tournaments and comparison method in comparing of tournament responses. Results: We discovered that the tournament organized by group method is more efficient for pupils then the knock-out tournament. We observed the same result by organizing the annual tournament where the pupils were also more interested in group tournament. Name of submitter: Problems of food adolescent tennis players during the tournament Prae Objective: To determine the current status of food adolescent tennis players in the Czech Republic, the age group 12-15 years, during tournaments held in Prague. Check their interest and knowledge about nutrition and to assess options their meals in catering establishments tennis courts taking into account the principles of good nutrition. Method: To carry out this investigation, I chose the method of voting. The study group of players to match the writing survey questions ascertaining their level of dietary zvyklosti.Dále I conducted surveys among groups Parents of players who form the interview answered questions listed issues. In tournaments, which I visited for the purpose of investigation, I investigated dining options players in dining establishments, which were available to participants of tournaments with regard to the principles of healthy nutrition. The method chosen public inquiry has proved to be a quick way learn basic food groups of players, but for thorough and objective treatment of this topic would be appropriate to use other methods. Úkolem bylo zjištění, jaký je přístup rodiče k dítěti v dané situaci, jak rodič reagoval na různé situace na tenisovém dvorci. V závěru této práce bude formulace základních doporučení pro trenérskou praxi a které by mohly pomoci v některých stresových situacích jak rodičům tak dětem. Metoda Ke sběru dat bylo použito behaviorální pozorování, přesněji nezúčastněné, skryté a strukturované pozorování osmi jedinců. Data budou zaznamenána v kódovacích záznamech na základě kódování, kde pomocí reduktivní deskripce jsme vytvořili schéma tvořené kategoriemi, subkategoriemi a jejich vlastnostmi a dimenzemi. S nasbíranými materiály provedeme analýzu dat případové studie pomocí analytické indukce. Po metodě pozorování jsem využila ještě ke sběru dat metodu dotazování, která přispěla k charakteristice hráče. Duo to recent policy changes on modern warfare categorization, command-duty equality and diversify-cored discipline were implemented in Taiwan defense system. Since 1997 thru 2014, constructing an arm force with less quantity, more qualification and competitiveness were trend for modern forces. Rise of withdraw personnel was determined while the MOD actively committed on recruitment. This paper consists of literature review, data collection and inducement based on motivation theory. A SPSS method is utilize to construct a research framework. This paper discusses three main topics of motivation system, work stress, and withdrawal behavior. Six factors study include motivation system, insurance-benefit factor, work stress, internal stress, external stress, and withdrawal traits are conducted from data analyzed. Those factors were discussed particularly on task support troops of ROC Army and analytical results will be utilized to improve retaining rate of military forces in the future.

This research report is focused to study of what influences of the service industry with the Educational Cooperative Suport System on employee’s organizational commitment and trend of turnover. 1. What are influences of those interfering variances of characteristics (including external control character and internal control character) as well as individual variance (e.g. gender and age) on employee’s organizational commitment and trend of turnover? 2. What are influences of situational interaction on employee’s organizational commitment and trend of turnover? This research report is investigated within the scope of schools with 511 Model Educational Cooperative (including National Taipei Institute of business Technology, Jin Wen Institute of Technology, Van Nung Institute of Technology and Fortune Institute of Technology) and their students. Based on the expediency sampling theory, 538 (equiv. To 59.8%) out of 900 copies of the Questionnaire sent to the above-mentioned four schools, were received. Deducted from those blank and/or incomplete ones, 226 copies are effective (42% to total replies and 25.1% to total issuance). It is found out that: 1.Main influence on those service industries with the Educational Cooperative Suport System: The more pay supporting and career plan, the more organizational commitment (including recognition and centripetal force). The more pay supporting and technical training, the less trend of turnover. 2.Influence of those interfering variances of characteristics and individual variance: Based on analysis of regression, it is verified that to those employees with low external control character, the more pay supporting and career plan, the more organizational commitment (including recognition and centripetal force). To those senior employees, the more pay supporting, the less trend of turnover. 3.Influences of situational interaction: 1.1 Recognition to the organization 1.1.1 With interaction of the “Educational Cooperative Suport System” and “external control character”, it is appeared that negative impact on “pay supporting” and “external control character ” (b=－0.04, p<0.05). 1.1.2 With interaction of the “Educational Cooperative Suport System” and “internal control character”, positive impact upon “career plan” and “internals control character” (b=0.03, p<0.1) were found out. 1.1.3 With interaction of the “Educational Cooperative Suport System ” and “internal control character”, there was positive impact on “pay supporting” and “internal control character” (b=0.06, p<0.1). 1.2 Centripetal force to the organization: With interaction of the “Educational Cooperative Suport System” and “internal control character”, it is appeared that negative impact upon “technical training” and “internal control character” (b=-0.04, p<0.1). 1.3 Trend of resignation: With interaction of the “Educational Cooperative Suport System” and “external control character”, a negative impact on “career plan” and “internal control character” (b=-0.04, p<0.1) was found out.

Title: YMCA and University sport as pioneers of volleyball in Czech countries Objectives: The goal of our thesis is to make an overview of beginning and development of volleyball between first and second world war in Czech countries and to prove the influence of YMCA and University sport on it. Methods: We have used these methods in our thesis: progressive and retrospective method, direct and indirect method and comparative method. The necessary part of a retrospective and progressive method were synchronous and diachronic attitude to a historical progress. Results: The thesis provides an overview of information related to the formation and development in a period between World War I and World War II in the Czech lands with contribution of the YMCA organisation and the University Sport organisation. The paper demonstrates that these two organisations had the major role in the development of volleyball and thanks to them volleyball in our lands is one of the best ones in Europe from its beginning, in a matter of both its level and organisation. Title: Czechoslovak and Czech tennis players at the Grand Slam tournaments Objectives: Diploma thesis is divided into two chapters. The aim of the first chapter is to make a comprehensive and valuable overview of the historical development of the greatest tennis tournaments called the Grand Slam from the very beginning until the present. The second part of this thesis focuses on Czechoslovak and Czech men's and women's tennis players who achieved the greatest success in these tournaments. Methods: I used historiographical method in my diploma thesis. Other methods used in this thesis are based on this method. In the first chapter, which is focused on the Grand Slam tournaments, I applied mostly progressive method which captures events from the past until the present. In the second chapter, which is aimed at Czechoslovak and Czech players, I used biographical and chronological methods. Results: Czechoslovak and Czech tennis players have been the most successful at Wimbledon, they have won there fourteen times. Wimbledon is followed by French Open with ten victories. Fewest victories have achieved our players at Australien Open and US Open. Among men, Ivan Lendl was the most successful in the men's single with eight victories at the Grand Slam tournaments. The thesis presents a detailed analysis of the late medieval murals in the so-called 'green chamber' of Žirovnice Castle and similar late-medieval mural paintings. Compared to the earlier literature the study focuses on the interrelations between the scenes depicted in the 'green chamber': the Judgement of Paris, Judith beheading Holofernes, the exemplum An Old Woman Is Worse than the Devil as well as an image which was previously described as the Judgement of Solomon (perhaps rather a parable about legitimate and illegitimate progeny). They are compared with other depictions of these themes and their treatment in contemporary literature. These comparisons link them with the popular concept of a critique of the power of women (Weibermacht). In Žirovnice, and similarly elsewhere, this concept was connected to the allegory of the transcience of love and the ephemeral nature of the world overall. The ostensible genre depictions of the hunt and tournament can be interpreted in this sense as well. This is demonstrated by numerous details subverting the meaning of these images. The study then compares Žirovnice to other similar murals in Bohemia and addresses the questions of their function as well as of the art-historical phenomenon of 'green chambers' as various secular murals are called following the...
