Abstract:
Many large power grid accidents show that the tripped transmission line has great impact on system stability. The primary frequency regulation effects of generation units play key roles during a trip procedure. In this paper, a frequency stability dynamic mathematic model of regional power grid was built based on records of a practical trip accident of transmission line between regional grids. Key parameters of the model were identified. The identified parameters are within their reasonable regions. The simulation results show that the modeling method based on parameter identification can be used for modeling of transmission line trip accident procedure and relative frequency stability analyses on power grids.

Abstract:
Sažetak: Faults on EHV lines are generally single-phase-to-ground ones and not permanent in the majority of cases. Thus single phase auto reclosure (SPAR), at which the faulty phases are tripped for a short time, eliminates the predominant part of the faults [1,2]. The secondary arc, which follows the high power arc after tripping the faulty phases at both side of the line may endanger the successfulness of reclosing if the duration of the switched off interval (dead time) is not long enough to ensure the extinction of the arc. The secondary arcing times recorded on different EHV lines or measured in laboratory tests show significant spread, consequently, to select a dead time according to the longest experimental secondary arc extinction time is not feasible. During commissioning of the double circuit 420 kV interconnection between Hungary and Croatia several staged faults were initiated to analyze the arc extinction performance. Initially the line was in operation by connecting the two circuits in parallel along the 1/3rd of the full length. In this configuration the longest secondary arc extinction time was 4 seconds and the secondary arc has not extinguished in 27s in one of the tests, so the line had to be tripped out to clear the staged fault. Later on, the length of the Croatian section of the line has been significantly shortened after putting a new substation into service. The increased performance of SPAR of the new arrangement has been proved with field tests. A realistic representation of the secondary arcs is essential in determining the auto-reclosure performance of EHV transmission lines. As shown in the paper, the random variation of the arc parameters influences significantly the arc extinction time. The results of the field tests confirmed the importance of the distributed nature of the transmission line and the nonlinear characteristic of the arc resistance in the intermittent region of arcing, where temporary extinctions and sudden re-ignitions in the arc channel produce transient wave processes along the line.

Abstract:
In stressed operating conditions, several types of voltage stability indices (VSI) are used for the assessment of voltage stability at specific operating points. The performance of various available VSIs are compared in this paper. The one generation unit tripped effects, single line to ground (SLG) fault and inductive loading variations occur in combinational format with such operating conditions. Voltage collapse occurs in the lines or nodes due to the stressed operating conditions (SOC). SLG fault, loading effects, power margin, line continency ranking, and line number are some of the performance parameters of VSI analysed in this paper. For utilization of reactive power compensation, the proper location can be chosen with the help of critical line and node analysis (CLNA) that makes use of VSIs. For any SOC, accurate voltage instability prediction is performed using VSI as per the simulation results. Under voltage collapse due to multiple causes, the voltage stability assessment of any specific line can be performed using this information.

Abstract:
For voltage stability assessment at a given operating point, various types of voltage stability indices (VSIs) have been proposed in the literature. In this paper, the voltage stability assessment of an IEEE-14 bus system is done for performance comparison of different types of VSIs available, under certain critical and practical stressed operating conditions (SOCs). The performance comparison of various VSIs under the considered SOCs is not reported in the literature. Such SOCs include the combinational occurrence of – variation in inductive loading, single line to ground (SLG) fault and effect of one generation unit tripped. These SOCs are the prime cause of voltage collapse of any node/line. The results show the performance of various VSIs with respect to line number, contingency ranking of the line, power margin, effects of loading and SLG fault. These VSIs are also instrumental in critical line and node analysis (CLNA) which is useful in the choice of proper location for reactive power compensation required. The simulated results provide the best performing VSI for accurate prediction of voltage instability under any considered SOC. This information is essential for voltage stability assessment of a particular line under multiple causes of voltage collapse.

Abstract:
Protection systems play an important role to maintain the reliability of distribution line. Over current relay (OCR) is one of the equipments used as a protection line of 20 kV distribution. Feeder of Bukit Jati is equipped over current protection relay equipment installed in Recloser of Banda and relay in the substation feeder. Based on the data of PT. PLN (Persero) APD Bali, there are 5 time-short circuit disorders which one of them tripped the Bukit Jati feeder. Problems over current relay coordination failures can be overcome by analyzing the coordination of protection systems in the feeder of Bukit Jati. The analysis was done by recalculating the over current relay setting and create the coordination curve of the existing setting and compared it with the coordination curve setting according to the calculation result. The results of the calculation of instant recloser recycling settings obtained by 1.246 A with time multiple setting (Tms) of 0.11 while the value of the instant current setting of the feeder of 2.992 A with Tms of 0.38. Based on the simulation result using ETAP program, it is known that over current relay coordination has worked according to the protection zone when the noise occurrence behind the recloser bus did not result in a trip feeder.

In bipolar Line commutated converter transmission lines are subjected to harsh weather condition so accurate and rapid clearance of fault is essential. A comparative study of the bipolar system with both converters healthy and one converter tripped is studied. Most of the research paper has focussed on transmission line faults in bipolar mode but none of them had focussed when HVDC system works in monopolar mode after the fault. In the proposed scheme the voltage signals are extracted from both poles of the rectifier ends and are processed to identify the faults in transmission lines. The Artificial neural network is utilised in detecting the fault in both bipolar and monopolar system. Since it can identify the relationship between input and output data to detect the fault pattern it can be utilised under all conditions. Moreover, benefits of the proposed method are its accuracy, no requirement of the communication system as it acquires data from one end and has a reach setting of 99%.

Abstract:
Abstract When a short-circuit fault occurs on the transmission lines of high voltage DC transmission system based on modular multilevel converters, the fault cannot be cleared by adjusting the converter control system, which results in longer recovery time. Aiming at the problem above, a fault self-clearing scheme based on the fault clearing module for the half-bridge converter station is proposed. Combined with the actual operating status of the flexible DC transmission project, centralized parameter models are utilized to analyze the fault self-clearing mechanism. Besides, the impact of the discharge branch on the fault clearing effect is studied in depth to provide a design consideration for the fault clearing module and improve the comprehensive benefits of the proposed scheme. PSCAD/EMTDC simulation results show that the introduction of the fault clearing module in the half-bridge converter station can effectively suppress the fault short-circuit current and shorten the fault clearing time. In addition, circuit breakers on both sides of the line do not need to be tripped, providing a reliable guarantee for the subsequent adaptive restart process.

Abstract:
Solvent evaporation appears as an easy way to deposit a periodic film on any surface. Its resulting structure is directly linked to the particles contained on the suspension and its behaviour with its solid and liquid environment during drying step. The coffee ring effect is the most eloquent example, which is characterized by a preferential agglomeration of the particle in the drop periphery. Such process is difficult to assess: handling the air-liquid-substrate interface movement is a basic need to increase the technical power of that coating method. To investigate the contact line motion during drying, we focus on the meniscus, which comes from a liquid flow between a sealed container and a substrate. Observations of liquid flowing out such disposal show a cyclic movement. Such phenomenon can be compared to a breathing of the contact line. The present work is firstly dedicated to the characterization of that periodic movement. These learnings are then applied to polymer latexes to produce periodic films. Our characterization method is based on meniscus observation and force balance recording. The observed breathing can be tuned in frequency and amplitude, by acting both on physical properties of the solvents, and geometrical settings of the device. Surface tension play a key role in the movement, by acting on the meniscus shape. Geometrical settings appears to affect the evaporation process. On a global scale, the rate is constant but the disposal gap is directly linked to the cycle frequency.Eventually, our disposal is used to coat smooth surface with polymer latexes. The self-organization of particles during the drying process is tried to be controlled by the periodic motion of the contact line. The roughness of the obtained textured coating is expected to be tuned by a combined choice of disposal settings and specific solutions properties

Abstract:
Sustainability is an important concept within today’s society whereas the TBL theory has become increasingly useful by companies. The TBL theory is divided into three perspectives which are people, planet and profit. Lately digitalization of the accounting profession has been through some big changes. Information and communication technologies (ICT) is a field within digitalization that is used diligently within audit. The question if ICT effects the auditors sustainable work using the TBL theory is something that we have not found any research about. To examine the purpose of the study a quantitative approach has been applicated and data has been collected using an online survey that auditors and auditor assistants on different firms has been a part of. The surveys questions were formulated from the dependent variable, the audits sustainable work and the independent variable, ICT. The survey also examined four control variables. The result from the study showed that ICT has a positive effect on the auditors´ sustainable work. Where no control variables effected the correlation between ICT and the auditors´ sustainable work. The auditors also consider people, planet and profit to be important concepts and works a lot with all of them. Profit, however, is considered the most important and planet is considered the least important. The time frame to finish the study and the peak season for auditors has limited the surveys response rate. This is something that future research should consider to be able to investigate the subject further.

Abstract:
Sustainability has become a highly prioritized subject among most companies and the goal is to maintain financial value without jeopardizing nature's resources, neither human health nor the society. How safe, fast and cost efficient a company distribute their goods is crucial for international- and domestic trade as well as economic growth. Haulage is a great source of greenhouse gas emissions and therefore it is crucial that new solutions of transport are developed in order to reduce the negative footprint of haulage in a supply chain. The use of high capacity transporting (HCT) vehicles is assumed increase when the EU's dimensions for a truck’s length, width and weight are allowed. This exception from EN standards would lead to increased transport efficiency, economic efficiency and reduced impact on the environment. The logistical solution of dry ports, namely a port on inland, can be used to consolidate goods, unburden the port and increase intermodality within the goods. Intermodality is when goods is transported between its starting location to its end location using several different kinds of transport ways. The following report maps how a synergy between high capacity vehicles and dry ports would look like. By using the triple bottom line sustainability model the report identifies strengths and weaknesses of the two concepts. The reports analysis is created from a theoretical literature study, a case study of the ETT project, an observation of Skaraborg Logistics Center and nine interviews with experts within the field. The report identifies that better economic, environmental and social effects are achieved if a dry port is connected to the port of origin by rail way rather than with HCT vehicles. Further identified problems is the temporary permit of conveying the longer and heavier vehicles. The analysis shows that in order to achieve a good effect from an interaction between HCT vehicles and dry ports, each term alone require that the necessary factors for good effect is fulfilled. The reports limitations are to consider all goods being normal gods and only to consider HCT-vehicles, not HCT-haulage by rail way. The writers also make the assumption that Swedish rules of labor are applied on domestic transportations by road. The report does not study details within IT, security systems nor aerodynamic.

Offer, Frank Stanley. "Full participation in education and training to age 18 in England : perspectives from policy and life-worlds of young people." Thesis, Brunel University, 2013. http://bura.brunel.ac.uk/handle/2438/7645.

Full text
Abstract:
This thesis draws on the voices of the young people who will be affected by the government’s proposal to increase the age of participation in education and training to 18 by 2015, voices which are otherwise overlooked in policy formulation and much research. The young people most affected are those who currently do not participate in education or training after the age of 16. The thesis takes a phenomenological approach, building understanding from the young people’s perspectives of their life-worlds and their reasons for not participating and exploring their response to their particular circumstances as perceived by them. The thesis explores their understanding through focus groups held in one local authority in South East England, comprising urban and rural settings. The thesis highlights factors that impede young people’s participation from their own perspectives, which fall into three categories: physical factors; social factors; and emotional factors. Nationally, the government has confirmed its commitment to raising the participation age by 2015, yet many of the government’s policies are exacerbating the challenges that young people face. This study concludes that the barriers highlighted by young people in relation to physical factors; social factors; and emotional factors are neglected in the current policy drive to full participation to age 18 and this needs urgent attention if the policy is to succeed. The thesis proposes a model which is offered for future policy and practice development to give greater weight to the perspectives of young people in relation to participation as expressed in this research. There is a risk if their concerns are not addressed that young people who have experienced a failure by the system and associated damaged self esteem, are now further pathologised, and potentially criminalised, for failing to fulfil their duty to participate. Yet, a more holistic approach that addresses the broader issues highlighted by this research, could realise pathways into further education and training that redress some of the previous negative experience and restore their confidence for the future.

Galamadien, Phillip Andre. "Sustainability and triple bottom line reporting in the banking industry / Galamadien P.A." Thesis, North-West University, 2011. http://hdl.handle.net/10394/7345.

Full text
Abstract:
This study examined the status of disclosures on sustainability and triple bottom line (TBL) reporting in the banking industry. This was based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) – G3 guidelines. An investigation on the four big banks were conducted namely ABSA, Firstrand Bank Limited, Nedbank and Standard Bank, disclosing information about the areas of sustainability and the triple bottom line, in relation to economic, environmental and social factors. The problem statement reflects disclosures in the annual financial reports of organisations on the triple bottom line which are of a voluntary nature. The quality of the triple bottom line reporting has remained fairly low and rarely covers those aspects that are more sensitive to sustainable development, thus ignoring issues of complexity and context, an issue further explored in the literature review. Other issues are sustainability factors, corporate social responsibility, triple bottom line and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in perspective and highlights how these intertwine with each other. In this study the empirical research adopts content analysis as a research method, after which the results of the standard disclosures of the GRI–G3 checklist on the four big banks are revealed. The GRI–G3 checklist was completed to assess the financial disclosures of the four big banks published in their 2010 annual financial reports. In the summary of the results the principles of the defining report content were used as a benchmark to analyse the disclosures of the annual financial reports. The paper concludes with the limitations and challenges faced, followed by recommendations based on the principles for defining report content from the GRI–G3 guideline and aspects that needs further attention due to disclosures not having been adequately represented.

"Khurais HP Gas Compressor Swing Line Control Logic Modification Through Dynamic Simulation Modelling." In Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference. SPE, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.2118/207346-ms.

Full text
Abstract:
Abstract Khurais central processing Facility is a hydrocarbon plant consists of 5 GOSPs with a stabilizer (i.e oil train), 3 gas plants and power plant with their associated utilities. Each oil train has one HP gas compressor to send the gas from oil trains to gas plant. These compressors is oversized and running each compressor alone results in excessive recycling and wasting energy. In 2018 Khurais introduced a new energy optimization initiative which is swing line that is a common header connects all HP compressors together with the objective of maximizing operating loads in each gas compressor. In doing so, the last compressor can be shut down for as long as the capacity of the other compressors is still adequate to accommodate the extra gas rate from the shutdown compressor.[1] (Refer to Figure 2) Although this approach resulted in maximizing energy efficiency of the facility it introduced a new challenge to the facility which is in case of any trip to a compressor connected to swing line all other connected compressors will trip. Recently Khurais introduce a new philosophy to shift the load from tripped compressors to other compressors through modifying swing line and compressors DCS control logics. This paper covers the swing-line control logic modifications and enhancement followed by Saudi Aramco Khurais producing facility to overcome multiple compressor outages challenge. This paper is aimed to: Share the challenge of multiple compressors trips with swing line operations that occurs if one of the compressors connected to swing line is tripped resulting in 100% of gas flaring. Present dynamic simulation modelling results and new logic modifications implemented for compressor controls to avoid such multiple trips scenario. Present Compressor trips cases before and after implementing the control logic enhancements. Highlight how this approach enhanced compressor's reliability and helped Saudi Aramco to reduce its carbon footprint. In this paper various dynamic simulation modelling graphs that showed the root cause for multiple compressor trips will be presented, evaluation of several control logic and their consequences. This topic will also cover the new proposed logic with zero investment to avoid multiple compressors trip scenario with operations of swing line. Details about behavior of compressor before and after the modification including the reaction of newly implemented control logic in flare control valves is included part of this paper. After the implementation of this logic the following results have been realized: No incident of multiple compressor trips happened due to proper functioning of logic. Eliminated 60-100 MMSCF/year of flaring due to multiple compressors trips scenario through having "quickest" handle to restoring flow to the swing line and stop flaring. Reducing carbon footprints due to flaring compared to old setup. Realized Recovered revenue worth approximately US$ 500,000/year The novelty in this paper is describing an approach of gradual load shifting from a tripped compressor to other running compressors to avoid multiple compressors trips which can be utilized in any facility that has a common suction header connects all its compressors. Such logics can be implemented in-house with no modification in compressors or swing lines or other equipment.

Abstract:
The integral effect test to simulate a steam line break (SLB) accident accompanied by a steam generator tube rupture (SGTR), named SLB-SGTR-02 test, was performed to investigate the thermal hydraulic phenomena during a multiple failure accident. In this study, a thermal-hydraulic integral effect facility, ATLAS (Advanced Thermal-hydraulic test Loop for Accident Simulation) was utilized to simulate thermal hydraulic phenomena which can occur in the nuclear power plant, especially for the pressurized water reactor, as realistically as possible. The SLB is simulated as a guillotine break on the main steam line and, in the SGTR, five steam generator tubes on the steam generator hot-side are modeled. Due to the initiation of SLB, a reactor was tripped by low steam generator pressure (LSGP) signal and the SGTR was initiated when the water inventory in the secondary system of the affected steam generator was dried-out. During the transient simulation for SLB-SGTR-02 test, major thermal-hydraulic parameters such as the system pressures, the collapsed water levels, the flows in the primary loops and the fluid temperatures, were measured and analyzed. Through this experimental result, insights about the accident management procedure can be provided in the case of the multiple failure accident, such as an SLB with a SGTR.

Full text
Abstract:
In preparation for a power reduction at a Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) power plant, the Moisture Separator Drain Tanks (MSDT) were being transitioned from pumping to a flash tank to dumping to the Condenser. This evolution includes initially transitioning to pressure feeding to a lower pressure flash tank first. As soon as the MSDT Pump was tripped, a waterhammer occurred in the 6″ line that contained a valve that isolated the flow path to the lower pressure flash tank. The waterhammer caused the operator of this valve to fail due to a fracture of the yoke on the actuator. Several thermal-hydraulic mechanisms were evaluated and it was postulated that the failure mechanism was a bubble collapse in a 6″ horizontal line upstream of the failed isolation valve leading to the lower pressure (a.k.a., “D”) flash tank. A prerequisite for this mechanism is that the isolation valve leading to the “D” flash tank is “tight” such that line is “cold.” As the valve opens the initial flow regime would be annular before transitioning to a dispersed regime. The vapor and cold water interacted leading to the collapse of an assumed 1″ diameter “trapped” bubble. The collapse of the postulated bubble yielded an unbalanced impulse force of 6000 lbs. for approximately 5 – 10 milliseconds. The pressure spike that generated the unbalanced force was estimated at 208 psid. The initial acceleration of the pipe was estimated to have been as high as 21 g, which was greater than the 11 g estimated necessary to fail the valve actuator.

Abstract:
Abstract Mechanically lined pipe (MLP) is a lower cost alternative to clad pipe, and is used to carry corrosive fluids in oil and gas applications. The pipe includes a liner which is made from corrosion resistant alloy (CRA). The liner is fixed at both ends using seal welds and a length of weld overlay. This results in a junction between the backing steel, weld overlay and liner, which is called the transition point or the triple point. When lined pipe is subjected to fatigue loading, the triple point has been shown to be location where fatigue cracks initiate. Flaws present at the triple point will grow in service. When a flaw breaches the liner, the backing steel will be exposed to the corrosive fluid, limiting the remaining life of the pipeline. It is therefore of interest to perform fracture mechanics calculations to understand fatigue crack growth from the triple point, so that the operational service life of MLP can be calculated if a flaw is present at the triple point. In order to do this, a stress intensity factor, K, is needed which describes the stress intensity at a crack tip at the triple point. However, owing to the unique geometry of this location, no stress intensity factor solution currently exists for the triple point location. To overcome this challenge, parametric finite element models were developed to calculate stress intensity factors for triple point crack-like flaws. This paper presents results from a work package from a joint industry project whose aim was to understand the fatigue performance of mechanically lined pipe. Finite element analysis was used to develop K solutions for the triple point in mechanically lined pipe by developing geometry-specific Y-factors for the MLP triple point geometry. An engineering critical assessment was then performed. The calculated fatigue life agreed well with results from full scale resonance fatigue tests and demonstrates the value of using FEA to derive geometry-specific K solutions for this geometry.

Full text
Abstract:
Abstract Surface Controlled Subsurface Safety Valves (SCSSV) is a critical completion accessory to maintain the Safe Operation Envelope (SOE) of the well and ensuring the production sustainability. In PCSB, it is a requirement that SCSSVs are tested on specific periods to ensure this safety device meet the acceptance requirement as per company guideline. Monitoring and maintaining the SCSSVs is proven to be challenging for E1 gas fields, located in Offshore Malaysia. Wells in E1 field, recently transferred operatorship, is an aging field producing since August 1982. The wells are equipped with Wireline Retrievable SCSSV (WRSCSSV). Within few months after operating this well, few cases of SCSSVs inoperability were encountered, resulted in significant gas production loss from E1. The main problems with SCSSV are: Control line hydraulic pressure unable to build up and maintain, hence unable to flow the well as SCSSV unable to open. Abnormal hydraulic return observed. E11 wells tripped due to Wellhead Control Panel Hydraulic pressure header hit low-ow trip setpoint. Inoperable after well close in, indication of control line leak. Immediate action taken to rectify include retrieving the WRSCSSV and installing redressed old WRSCSSV, injecting and displacing of Pressure Activated Sealant through control line to patch leak point. Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) conducted on the wells identified preliminary factors that lead to E1 SCSSV issues: Frequent SCSSV cycling with high control line pressure in depleted well pressure (Frequent well tripping and monthly Corrosion Inhibitor batching activity requires close in and opening of SCSSV). Non-compatible SCSSV elastomeric parts with production & CI batching chemical. Wear & tear and corrosion due to valve age (manufactured in 1982 & 1985). Worn out seal bore of BP-6 landing nipple. Short term solution such as reviewing the recommended hydraulic line opening pressure, downhole visual inspection, pressure activated sealant and caliper survey to confirm BP-6 Landing Nipple seal bore damage, Swellable Packer/O-ring (External) and re-dress using non-upgraded Elastomers (Internal) had been planned. Contingency for subsurface controlled SSV and replacement using new WRSCSSV had been put in place as long-term solution. This paper describes operator experience in managing the challenges in maintaining SCSSV operability, diagnostic and solution recommended to avoid production deferment due to this issue.

Full text
Abstract:
In 2004, North Omaha Station Unit 1 (NOS 1) experienced multiple condenser vacuum upsets. At least one of them resulted in a unit trip. The upset conditions occurred over relatively short periods of time with no clear indication of the initiating mechanism. Overall, condenser vacuum was low. Various methods were employed to combat the vacuum issues and upset conditions. These included operating both sets of holding steam jet air ejectors (SJAEs) above 600 psig (50% above design), using the hogging SJAE during unit operation and, operating the condensate pumps in a recirculating mode. Air inleakage was a known problem on NOS 1. The air inleakage was no longer measurable since it exceeded the scale of the installed instrumentation (20 scfm). Besides air inleakage, tube fouling of the condenser tubes was also contributing to degraded condenser vacuum. NOS 1 had a history of fouling due to calcium carbonate plateout on the condenser tubes. During the January 2005 outage, major sources of air inleakage were identified and fixed. Leaking tubes in the SJAE intercondenser/aftercondenser were plugged. The condenser tubes were scraped to reduce fouling. Although condenser vacuum improved, problems persisted at low loads. Following a vacuum upset in June 2005, the hogging SJAE was placed into service. Helium testing in July 2005 indicated high air inleakage. The problems continued to persist and, in February 2006, the unit tripped on low condenser vacuum. At that time, the unit had been operating at about 58 Mwe. In order to maintain the unit on line at a reduced load of 40 Mwe, both the hogging SJAE and one set of first stage and second stage holding SJAEs had to be deployed. An attempt to remove the hogging SJAE from service was unsuccessful since it resulted in rapid decrease in air-removal capability of the holding SJAEs. This paper describes the methodology used to troubleshoot the condenser vacuum issues for NOS 1 and remedies proposed for proper performance and reliable operation.

Abstract:
Link prediction based on knowledge graph embeddings (KGE) has recently drawn a considerable momentum. However, existing KGE models suffer from insufficient accuracy and hardly evaluate the confidence probability of each predicted triple. To fill this critical gap, we propose a novel confidence measurement method based on causal intervention, called Neighborhood Intervention Consistency (NIC). Unlike previous confidence measurement methods that focus on the optimal score in a prediction, NIC actively intervenes in the input entity vector to measure the robustness of the prediction result. The experimental results on ten popular KGE models show that our NIC method can effectively estimate the confidence score of each predicted triple. The top 10% triples with high NIC confidence can achieve 30% higher accuracy in the state-of-the-art KGE models.

Abstract:
At two-phase flow in microchannels, slug flow regime is different for wettability of surface. A slug in a hydrophilic microchannel has liquid film. However, a slug in a hydrophobic microchannel has no liquid film instead, the slug has triple-lines and makes higher pressure drop due to the motion of the triple-line. In previous researches, pressure drop of triple-line is depended of dynamic contact angle, channel diameter and fluid property. And, dynamic contact angle is depended of static contact angle, superficial velocity and fluid property. In order to understand the pressure drop of motion of triple-lines, pressure drop of slug with triple-lines in case of various diameters (0.546, 0.763, 1.018, 1.555, 2.075 mm), various fluids (D.I.water, D.I.water-1, 5, 10% ethanol mixture) and various superficial velocity (j = 0.01∼0.4 m/s) was measured. Dynamic contact angle was calculated from relation of the pressure drop of slug with triple-lines. Comparing with previous dynamic contact angle correlations, previous correlation underestimated dynamic contact angle in the region of this study. (10−4≤Ca≤10−3, 10−2≤We≤10−1, 68°≤θS≤110°)

Abstract:
Open knowledge graph (OpenKG) link prediction aims to predict missing factual triples in the form of (head noun phrase, relation phrase, tail noun phrase). Since triples are not canonicalized, previous methods either focus on canonicalizing noun phrases (NPs) to reduce graph sparsity, or utilize textual forms to improve type compatibility. However, they neglect to canonicalize relation phrases (RPs) and triples, making OpenKG maintain high sparsity and impeding the performance. To address the above issues, we propose a Canonicalization-Enhanced Known Fact-Aware (CEKFA) framework that boosts link prediction performance through sparsity reduction of RPs and triples. First, we propose a similarity-driven RP canonicalization method to reduce RPs' sparsity by sharing knowledge of semantically similar ones. Second, to reduce the sparsity of triples, a known fact-aware triple canonicalization method is designed to retrieve relevant known facts from training data. Finally, these two types of canonical information are integrated into a general two-stage re-ranking framework that can be applied to most existing knowledge graph embedding methods. Experiment results on two OpenKG datasets, ReVerb20K and ReVerb45K, show that our approach achieves state-of-the-art results. Extensive experimental analyses illustrate the effectiveness and generalization ability of the proposed framework.

Abstract:
In the face of the COVID-19 crisis, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), other multilateral institutions and countries took unprecedented measures. Inter alia, the IMF agreed on an historical SDR allocation that more than tripled the volume of SDRs to cover long-term global reserve needs and ultimately support vulnerable countries. Member countries can keep SDRs to boost their reserves or use them in other ways, including to cancel their debts with the IMF, lend to the IMF or exchange SDRs for currencies. This document evaluates how members have used the 2021 SDR allocation. The findings show that most of the allocation has been used to increase reserves, although 40% of emerging economies and more than 60% of low-income countries have used SDRs to service their debts with the IMF or to exchange for currency, mainly for budgetary purposes in relation to social and health policies. Furthermore, in line with the G20’s objective to channel USD 100 bn of SDRs to countries in need, members with sound economic positions have voluntarily lent some of their SDRs to IMF trusts that finance vulnerable countries in affordable terms.
