Abstract:

Nowadays, the use of halogen or light emission diode (LED) devices in dental attention is constant for almost any oral treatment. The need of providing an adequate light intensity for a correct photopolymerization of the resinous materials is critical. Likewise, it is important to consider the biosecurity norms for avoiding cross-contamination by residues likely to be accumulated at the top of the light guide in contact with oral cavity fluids. Therefore, the use of translucid barriers at the top of the light guide is imperative to protect the health of the patient while providing a correct polymerization of the resinous materials. The present study analyzes the effect of using four translucid barriers in the light intensity of three dental lamps commercially available. The tested barriers are two of commercial availability, and two conventional plastic wraps. Results indicate a significant reduction of light intensity without affecting the requirements for a correct photopolymerization with any barrier. Differences among barriers points out a conventional plastic wrap as more suitable than commercially available barriers, considering only light intensity provided.

Abstract:

This research aimed to characterize the tolerance to flooding and alterations in pectic and hemicellulose fractions from mesocotyl of maize tolerant to flooding when submitted to hypoxia. In order to characterize tolerance seeds from maize cultivars Saracura BRS-4154 and BR 107 tolerant and sensitive to low oxygen levels, respectively, were set to germinate. Plantlet survival was evaluated during five days after having been submitted to hypoxia. After fractionation with ammonium oxalate 0.5% (w/v) and KOH 2M and 4M, Saracura BRS-4154 cell wall was obtained from mesocotyl segments with different damage intensities caused by oxygen deficiency exposure. The cell wall fractions were analyzed by gel filtration and gas chromatography, and also by Infrared Spectrum with Fourrier Transformation (FTIR). The hypoxia period lasting three days or longer caused cell lysis and in advanced stages plant death. The gelic profile from pectic, hemicellulose 2M and 4M fractions from samples with translucid and constriction zone showed the appearance of low molecular weight compounds, similar to glucose. The main neutral sugars in pectic and hemicellulose fractions were arabinose, xilose and mannose. The FTIR spectrum showed a gradual decrease in pectic substances from mesocotyl with normal to translucid and constriction appearance respectively.

Abstract:

Clinical History: Two raccoons died in a pre-release rehabilitation pen in an interval of 1.5 weeks after appearing healthy. The second raccoon, a juvenile female, was submitted for postmortem examination. Necropsy Findings: In the small intestine, the subserosa is markedly hyperemic/congested (Fig. 1) with abundant watery, semi-translucid content and large amounts of tan-white mucus. The intestinal wall is thickened, and the mucosa is smooth and overlaid by thick mucus (Fig. 2). The large intestine contains moderate amounts of tan-yellow, mucoid digesta. Mesenteric lymph nodes are enlarged, the parenchyma is red and mildly protrudes on cut section.

In the present work, based mainly on material from environmental protection areas in the State of Espírito Santo, we describe a new species of Miroculis (Miroculis). The male imago of M. (M.) caparaoensis, sp. nov. can be distinguished from other members of the subgenus by the following combination of characteristics: 1) dorsal portion of eyes on a short stalk, dorsal upper portion circular with 12–18 large-sized facets in longest row; 2) forewings with membrane translucid, longitudinal and crossveins brown; 3) abdominal color pattern; 4) posteromedian margin of styliger plate with small concavity; 5) penes length approximately 0.70 length of forceps segment 1. Miroculis (Ommaethus) mourei and M. (M.) fittkaui are reported for the first time from the region.

Abstract:

Although the language Lucid was not originally intended to support computing with infinite data structures, the notion of (infinite) sequence quickly came to the fore, together with a demand-driven computation model in which demands are propagated for the values of particular values at particular index points. This naturally generalized to sequences of multiple dimensions so that a programmer could, for example, write a program that could be understood as a (nonterminating) loop in which one of the loop variables is an infinite vector.Programmers inevitably found use for more and more dimensions, which led to a problem which is fully solved for the first time in this paper. The problem is that the implementation's cache requires some estimate of the dimensions actually used to compute a value being fetched. This estimate can be difficult or (if dimensions are passed as parameters) impossible to obtain, and the demand-driven evaluation model for Lucid breaks down.We outline the evolution of Lucid which gave rise to this problem, and outline the solution, as used for the implementation of TransLucid, the latest descendant of Lucid.

The objective of this work was to obtain prevalence estimates of cloudy vaginal mucus in artificially inseminated Holstein cows raised under intense heat, in order to assess the effect of meteorological conditions on its occurrence during estrus and to determine its effect on conception rate. In a first study, an association was established between the occurrence of cloudy vaginal mucus during estrus and the conception rate of inseminated cows (18,620 services), raised under intense heat (mean annual temperature of 22°C), at highly technified farms, in the arid region of northern Mexico. In a second study, data from these large dairy operations were used to assess the effect of meteorological conditions throughout the year on the occurrence of cloudy vaginal mucus during artificial insemination (76,899 estruses). The overall rate of estruses with cloudy vaginal mucus was 21.4% (16,470/76,899; 95% confidence interval = 21.1-21.7%). The conception rate of cows with clean vaginal mucus was higher than that of cows with abnormal mucus (30.6 vs. 22%). Prevalence of estruses with cloudy vaginal mucus was strongly dependent on high ambient temperature and markedly higher in May and June. Acceptable conception rates in high milk-yielding Holstein cows can only be obtained with cows showing clear and translucid mucus at artificial insemination.

Abstract:

The Bosca’s newt (Lissotriton boscai) is a small species of newt from the family Salamandridae, endemic in the western part of the Iberian Peninsula. Reproductive disorders in amphibians are not common and are poorly described. The newt, an adult female, originated from the Espiríto Santo creek in Miramar (Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal), was admitted to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre of the Biologic Park of Gaia in November 2017, with a dilatation on the left side, and difficulties in swimming and diving. Radiologic exam revealed an oval hypoechoic structure on the left side of the celomic cavity that compresses internal organs and causes spine deviation. In post mortem exam, the cranial portion of the left ovary presented an oval structure with 112 × 53 mm, of a translucid whitish-pink coloration containing a serous-like fluid. At histopathologic examination an ovarian luteinized cyst was diagnosed. It is the first time this type of lesion has been described in amphibians. In this animals, female’s reproductive problems are quite rare, with only a few cases reported, mostly in captivity animals. This report is important to improve the knowledge on reproductive pathology in amphibians, especially in the Bosca’s newt and evidence the importance of the post mortem exam in captive and wild amphibians.

Abstract:

Newborn Wistar rats were made hyperthyroid by injection of tri-iodothyronine and assayed for survival, brain oxygen uptake, brain chemiluminescence and activity of antioxidant enzymes. Brain chemiluminescence was measured (1) by removing the parietal bones or (2) through the translucid parietal bones. Control animals showed a brain chemiluminescence of 130 +/- 12 c.p.s./cm2 and 99 +/- 10 c.p.s./cm2 for procedures (1) and (2) respectively. Hyperthyroid rats showed increases in the spontaneous brain photoemission of 46 and 70% compared with controls, measured by procedures 1 and 2 respectively. The hyperthyroid state did not modify the oxygen-dependent chemiluminescence of brain homogenates. The hyperthyroid animals showed a 30% increase in the oxygen uptake of brain slices and a dramatic shortening of life-span to about 16 weeks. Superoxide dismutase (the Cu-Zn enzyme), catalase and Se-dependent glutathione peroxidase activities of brain homogenates were increased by 18, 36 and 30% respectively in the hyperthyroid animals. Isolated brain mitochondria produced 0.18-0.20 nmol of H2O2/min per mg of protein in state 4 in the presence of succinate as substrate. No difference was observed between control and hyperthyroid animals. It is concluded that hyperthyroidism leads to hypermetabolism and oxidative stress in the brain. The increased levels of oxygen and peroxyl radicals may contribute to premature ageing in these animals.

Abstract:

Three new species of Senecio (Compositae: Senecioneae) from Central Peru are described and illustrated. Morphological characters are used in order to distinguish them from the closest species. Senecio crassiandinus Montesinos & Pino has succulent leaves with cuticle composed of translucid white glands, bright yellow disc florets with blotches of pale reddish-brown in the corolla throat and linear-oblong achenes covered with trichomes, which distinguish it from the other South American species of the genus. Senecio inghamii Montesinos has oblanceolate-ovate to rhombic-quadrate leaves, short-sized, with serrate-quadrate dentation, upper surface lustrous and glossy, lower surface densely covered with whitish lanuginose pubescence, capitules bear trilobulated ray florets, achenes copiously covered by fimbriate hairs which differentiates it from its closest relative, S. pensilis Greenm. Senecio roseoandinus Montesinos & R. Zárate is a unique pubescent species characterized for being a perennial rhizomatous herb, with lanuginose and arachnoid trichomes, leaves elliptic-lanceolate, thick, densely arachnoid to glabrous (lustrous, glossy, dark green), margin entire to crenate, synflorescence in racemes, capitules discoid, corolla pale yellow but turning fuchsia-pink at maturity, achenes oblong, striate, and glabrous. All three new species are distributed in the Alto Marañon river mountain slopes, at altitudes ranging from 2000 up to 4200 m a.s.l. The species are, so far, only known from their type localities in the Huánuco region.

Devido à exigência estética, tem-se buscado materiais restauradores que se aproximem da aparência do dente natural. Para tal, é importante conhecer as propriedades ópticas tanto das estruturas dentais quanto dos materiais restauradores. Este estudo objetivou avaliar a translucidez/opacidade e fluorescência de 16 resinas compostas, na cor universal A2, selecionadas, aleatoriamente, a partir das quais foram confeccionados corpos de prova, com 1mm de espessura e 10mm de diâmetro que foram submetidos a avaliação das propriedades ópticas,sendo classificados como alta, média e baixa translucidez/opacidade e fluorescência. NOs testes W de Kendall e ao teste de Friedman a 5%de significância. verificou-se que as resinas Opallis D, Four Season D, Concept E, Concept D, FillMagic apresentaram baixa translucidez. As resinas Opallis E, Charisma, Tetric Ceram, Four Season E, Natural Look, Z350, Z250 apresentaram média translucidez/opacidade e as resinas Nova Charisma, Durafill e Supreme XT alta translucidez . Para fluorescência as resinas Charisma, Z350, Supreme XT, Z250 apresentaram baixa fluorescência. As de média fluorescência foram: Opallis E, Opallis D, Nova Charisma, Durafill, Natural Look, TPH Spectrum, Tetric Ceram, Four Season E, Four Season D. E as resinas compostas Concept E, Concept D, Fill Magic apresentam alta fluorescência. A partir dos resultados conclui-se que existem diferenças nos graus de translucidez /opacidade e fluorescência nas diferentes resinas compostas testadas, o que, possivelmente, está relacionado às variações na composição das mesmas.

Abstract:

O 1-metilciclopropeno (1-MCP) é um gás que atua inibindo o sítio de ação do etileno, aumentando o tempo de armazenamento de frutos. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito deste gás na conservação pós-colheita de kiwi 'Monty', à temperatura ambiente. Ele consistiu na exposição dos frutos a concentrações de 0; 0,5 e 1,0 mg dm-3 de 1-MCP, durante 24 horas, e posterior estocagem a 20 ± 4 ºC, por até 20 dias, com avaliações a cada 4 dias. Avaliaram-se: firmeza, translucidez da polpa, sólidos solúveis (SS), pH, acidez titulável (AT), pectina, % de frutos firmes para transporte e consumo. A translucidez da polpa mostrou-se um parâmetro adequado para monitoramento do amadurecimento, visto que houve correlação com a firmeza. A aplicação de 1-MCP preservou a firmeza e preveniu a translucidez da polpa, prolongando a qualidade para transporte e consumo por 4 e 12 dias, respectivamente, e não teve efeito sobre o pH, SS e pectinas. Nos tratamentos com 1-MCP, ocorreu um aumento inicial na acidez, mas com o passar do tempo, ocorreu diminuição da mesma, da firmeza e aumento dos sólidos solúveis e da translucidez da polpa, caracterizando o amadurecimento dos frutos.

Abstract:

Six mygalomorph spiders species belonging to two families, were collected in the Centro de Pesquisa e Conservação da Natureza Pró-Mata, São Francisco de Paula, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Five of those species, five are new. Microstigmatidae: Xenonemesia araucaria sp. nov., males differ from those of X. platensis Goloboff, 1988 and X. otti Indicatti, Lucas & Brescovit, 2007 by the curved and very long embolus in the male palp. Females differ from the remaining species of the genus in the seminal receptacle very long and sinuous or twisted. Nemesiidae: Acanthogonatus ericae sp. nov. - males resemble those of A. tacuariensis (Pérez-Miles & Capocasale, 1982) and A. quilocura Goloboff, 1995 by the serrated, curved and long embolus but are distinguished by the presence of a flange on the apex of the embolus. Females differ from the remaining Acanthogonatus by the short copulatory ducts, arising from the apex of the basal dome. Stenoterommata arnolisei sp. nov. is distinguished from the remaining species of the genus by the large sub-apical area of bulb, with a great number of keels, extending to the median region in the male palp and by the long copulatory ducts and spermathecae arising from internal border of basal dome in the female genitalia. S. grimpa sp. nov.: males resemble those of S. arnolisei sp. nov. by the shape of the palpal bulb and by the short embolus, but differ in the keels, restricted to the apical region. Females differ from remaining Stenoterommata by the presence of two spermathecae in the rounded fused basal dome. S. curiy sp. nov.: males resemble those of S. grimpa sp. nov. by the shape of palpal bulb and the very short embolus, but differ by the translucid keels restricted to the larger distal region. The presence of S. palmar Goloboff, 1995 is confirmed for Brazil. Males of S. palmar are distinguished from the remaining species of the genus by the long, slender and slightly distally curved embolus. Females are distinguished by the single spermathecae arising from the basal third or median area of the long and triangular basal dome. All spiders were collected with pitfall trapping at six distinct areas (two Araucaria forest areas, two secondary forests and two Pinus spp. Silvicultural plantations) over a period of 20 months. Abundance data between areas was compared for S. arnolisei sp. nov. and X. araucaria sp. nov. based on the mean catches of spiders in each area. No clear habitat preference was shown for each of the species, suggesting broad habitat tolerances. Phenological data were obtained through the abundance in each trapping period; results suggest an overwintering reproductive pattern for S. arnolisei sp. nov. and a spring-summer pattern for X. araucaria sp. nov.

The genus Epsteinius Lin, Braby & Hsu gen. nov. is established to accommodate a new, diminutive species of limacodid moth, E. translucidus Lin, sp. nov., from central Taiwan. Although the new species is the sister taxon to Microleon Butler, 1885 according to molecular phylogenetic data, it differs fundamentally from that genus in adult morphology, wing color pattern, male and female genitalia, and larval morphology. Larvae of E. translucidus Lin, sp. nov. represent an interesting case in which crypsis is based on transparency through its body color, resting behavior, and feeding pattern.

Danionella priapus, a new species of sexually dimorphic miniature cyprinid from the Brahmaputra drainage in India, is distinguished from the other three species in the genus by the presence in adult males of a conical projection of the genital papilla situated between funnel-shaped pelvic fins, the number of analand pectoral-fin rays, and the position of insertion of the last anal-fin pterygiophore. It differs further from D. translucida and D. mirifica in details of the colour pattern, from D. dracula and D. mirifica in number of procurrent caudal-fin rays, from D. translucida in number of vertebrae and from D. dracula in several skeletal characters. Like the other species in the genus, D. priapus shows a developmentally truncated skeleton that is associated with several evolutionary morphological novelties. The present distribution of the Danionella species may be the result of a vicariance event in the early Miocene, when the tectonic uplift of eastern Tibet and the Indo-Burman ranges lead to the interruption of the palaeo-connection between the Tsangpo (Brahmaputra) and the upper Irrawaddy Rivers.

Abstract:

The diversity and phylogenetic relationships of calcareous sponges are still not completely understood. Recent integrative approaches combined analyses of DNA and morphological observations. Such studies resulted in severe taxonomic revisions within the subclass Calcinea and provided the foundation for a phylogenetically meaningful classification. However, several genera are missing from DNA phylogenies and their relationship to other Calcinea remain uncertain. One of these genera is Leuclathrina (family Leucaltidae). We here describe a new species from the Maldives, Leuclathrina translucida sp. nov., which is only the second species of the genus. Like the type species Leuclathrina asconoides, the new species has a leuconoid aquiferous system and lacks a specialized choanoskeleton. Phylogenetic analyses of the partial 28S ribosomal RNA gene revealed that L. translucida sp. nov. is most closely related to a clade containing the exclusively asconoid genera Ascandra, Levinella and Soleneiscus, and to a clade of the likewise asconoid genus Ernstia. No close relationship exists to other members of the polyphyletic family Leucaltidae, or to any other leuconoid Calcinea. Our results suggest that the leuconoid aquiferous system of Leuclathrina evolved independently from that of other calcineans and that the family assignment of the genus has to be reconsidered. Because the latter requires a more comprehensive family level revision among many genera of Calcinea, we propose to formally retain the genus in Leucaltidae for the time being.

Background: Osteogenesis imperfecta is a severe genetic disease rarely described in veterinary medicine. This multisystemic condition is caused by a defect in the production and metabolization of collagen, which implicates in bone fragility. This disease has been described in cattle, sheep, domestic felines, mouse and dogs of different breeds, including collie, golden retriever, beagle, dachshund and chow chow. Animals affected by this condition present multiple fractures without previous occurrence of trauma. Therefore, this report aimed to describe a case of osteogenesis imperfecta type III in a miniature pinscher dog.Case: A 1-year-old male miniature pinscher dog, was admitted for clinical evaluation in Fortaleza, Brazil, with a history of spontaneous fractures without known causes. This animal was maintained indoors, fed on dry feed and presented recurrent events of claudication and pain. In the physical examination, the individual walked solely with the forelimbs, avoiding the use of the hind limbs and presented pain behavior. Bulging of the skull was observed laterally, which promoted a triangular appearance of head and face. Fontanelles were soft, and the eyes presented blueish sclera and corneal opacity. Teeth were small, translucid, fragile and deformed. Radiography images revealed bulging of the calvaria and persistent fontanelles with open cranial sutures. In addition, cranial convolutions were less clear, which was compatible with hydrocephalus. Dental roots were narrow, short and presented partial pulp obliteration. The radiographic contrast of the dentin was low with a reduction of periapical radiolucency. Bone radiopacity was low in the bones of the abdomen and pelvis, in addition to femur. Metaphysis of the right tibia was enlarged and angular. Multiple fractures were identified in the pelvis with the formation of opaque bony calluses and bone marrow sclerosis. Physiological parameters and blood test results were unaltered. After the diagnosis of osteogenesis imperfecta type III, treatment was performed with meloxicam 0.1 mg/kg, SID, VO) and tramadol (2 mg/kg, TID, VO) until pain was controlled. When the patient was stable, the treatment was halted until the next event of fractures followed by pain.Discussion: Type I collagen is considered the most abundant protein in connective tissue, accounting for 95% of the various types of collagen found in bone tissue. In osteogenesis imperfecta, there is a shortage in coding of type I collagen, which prevents this protein from exerting its structural functions properly. In addition, it is subjected to intra and extracellular degradation, affecting cell migration and differentiation and, concomitantly, cell-matrix interaction. Hence, these changes are considered the main pathophysiological factors of osteogenesis imperfecta. There is a wide range of phenotypic presentations in individuals with osteogenesis imperfecta. However, there is a pattern of fractures and features that aid clinically and radiologically in the characterization of the disease and form the basis for case identification and diagnosis. In this case, the diagnosis was concluded primarily considering significant clinical signs, such as: repetitive fractures, triangular face, bulging of the skull, bluish sclera and corneal opacity. Radiographic examinations were used to confirm the diagnosis and to aid in treating the fractures. Although the genetic test provides a better understanding of the disease, it was not performed in this case, as it is routinely unavailable in many treatment centers. In conclusion, we described a case of osteogenesis imperfecta in a miniature pinscher dog.

O objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar a alteração das propriedades ópticas de resinas tipo Bulk Fill após 2 anos. Três resinas Bulk-fill (Aura Bulk fill, Tetrik n-Ceram Bulk fill e Filtek Bulk fill) e uma resina convencional (Filtek Z350) foram analisadas. Espécimes (n 5) medindo 9 mm diâmetro e 2 mm de altura foram confeccionados e fotopolimerizados com uma irradiância de 650 mW/cm por 40 s. As propriedades de brilho, cor, translucidez e rugosidade foram medidas imediatamente (24 h a 37 oC) e após um ano e dois anos de escovação simulada. Adicionalmente, o grau de conversão e a integral foram avaliados através de FTIR para verificar a existência de diferentes monômeros na composição. Os dados obtidos foram analisados utilizando MANOVA e Tukey’s HSD test (a 0.05). Diferença significativa foi encontrada nas propriedades brilho e a rugosidade na interação resina-tempo. As características de translucidez e cor não foram afetadas. Pode-se concluir que a escovação poderia alterar consideravelmente o brilho e a rugosidade das resinas Bulk-fill.Palavras-chave: Resinas Compostas. Estabilidade. Escovação.

Métodos: Foi realizada uma revisão de literatura com artigos disponíveis nas bases de dados PUBMED e MEDLINE, utilizando como termos de busca: cerâmicas odontológicas, zircônia, zircônia translúcida, zircônia estabilizada por ítrio. Resultados: Após a leitura dos artigos foi possível observar que a zircônia tetragonal estabilizada com ítria policristalina (Y-TZP) apresenta uma coloração branca opaca, trazendo deficiência em áreas estéticas, diante desta deficiência em mimetizar a estética do dente, diversas pesquisas aprimoraram as zircônias atualmente disponíveis na odontologia, a principal diferença encontrada foi no aumento da quantidade em mol de óxido de Ítrio, estabilizando essa zircônia na fase cubica (4Y-TZP e 5Y-TZP). Este aumento na adição do ítrio faz com que ocorra uma diminuição na tenacidade à fratura e resistência flexural, resultando em uma maior translucidez do material. Considerações Finais: As zircônias translúcidas são indicadas para procedimentos restauradores estéticos e contraindicadas para restaurações posteriores, devida a sua alta translucidez e baixa resistência mecânica. Contudo, mais estudos clínicos são necessários para determinar sua correta indicação.

Os materiais mais resistentes falham pela falta de translucidez. Os mais estéticos, por sua vez, sofrem maior risco de fratura. Por isso, próteses metalocerâmicas e as livres de metal continuam dividindo as preferências e as indicações dos cirurgiões dentistas. As cerâmicas, com as melhores propriedades mecânicas, In-Ceram alumínio e In-Ceram zircônia. Estes sistemas tem alta resistência e oferecem uma ampla possibilidade de indicações e aplicação clinica, por exemplo, em próteses fixas unitárias, infraestrutura para pontes fixas e coroas sobre implantes, além de não apresentarem correntes galvânicas, o que contribui para a manutenção da saúde periodontal e pulpar, diminuição de acúmulo de placa, excelência estética, pela translucidez, opacidade, opalescência e fluorescência, além de serem superiores em relação às metalocerâmicas nos quesitos: corrosão, e biocompatibilidade. Então para o paciente ser considerado apto a receber restaurações protéticas livres de metal, deve possuir oclusão adequada e ausência de hábitos parafuncionais, para que estas não se fraturem em movimentos excêntricos e bordejantes durante as excursões mandibulares. O objetivo desse caso clínico que se optou pela reabilitação estética dos dentes anteriores com próteses livres de metal em cerâmica devido a excelência estética proporcionada pela mesma e principalmente pela ausência da margem metálica.PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Reabilitação oral, metal free, estética dentária.

Abstract:

Resumo Introdução A camada superficial de resina composta não polimerizada, em função da presença do oxigênio, ocasiona problemas clínicos, como alteração de cor por absorção de pigmentos. Objetivo Determinar o efeito de diferentes técnicas usadas no controle da formação da camada de dispersão sobre as propriedades ópticas de uma resina composta comercial. Material e método Espécimes foram produzidos com a resina composta Estelite Sigma. A fotoativação foi conduzida com uma fonte de luz LED Bluephase G2 (1.200 mW/cm2 por 40 s). Os grupos foram determinados em função de três técnicas distintas: 1) sem tratamento (controle); 2) fotoativação com gel de glicerina; 3) polimento com lixa abrasiva após a fotoativação. A estabilidade de cor (ΔE) e o parâmetro de translucidez foram determinados pelo método de espectroscopia de reflectância (Easyshade Compac, Vita) empregando o parâmetro CIELab. As análises foram realizadas imediatamente após a fotoativação e repetidas após 7 dias de armazenamento em água ou em café. Os resultados foram submetidos à análise de variância e ao teste de Tukey (α = 0,05). Resultado Não houve diferença para ΔE nos grupos envelhecidos em água. Quando armazenados em café, o grupo controle apresentou o maior valor de ΔE, enquanto o grupo polido gerou a menor alteração de cor. A aplicação do gel de glicerina produziu resultados intermediários. O parâmetro de translucidez não foi afetado pelos tratamentos testados. Conclusão O uso do gel de glicerina minimiza a alteração de cor nas regiões de difícil acesso aos instrumentos de acabamento e de polimento.

Abstract:

Avec l’invention de la peinture à l’huile au XVe siècle, la couleur prend une autre dimension : elle se construit dans l’épaisseur de la matière picturale. En effet, le nombre de couches déposées module la clarté et la saturation de la couleur, tandis qu’un fond blanc diffusant donne l’impression d’une lumière provenant de l’arrière du tableau tel un rétro-éclairage. Étudier la matière picturale comme un composant optique permet de simuler l’apparence d’un tableau, aide qui peut être précieuse lors d’une opération de restauration sur les couches picturales. Cette approche est aussi à la source de procédés innovants d’impression 3D couleur s’inspirant de la technique des peintres de la Renaissance.
