Sussfeld, Frédérique. "Entre expériences, récits et actions la communication du mouvement de la transition écologique traduit-elle un changement d’heuristique?" Electronic Thesis or Diss., Aix-Marseille, 2021. http://www.theses.fr/2021AIXM0069.
The ecological transition is investing the field of environmental communication by mobilising two distinct communicational phenomena, documentary film and transitional civic initiatives revealing attitudes that renew the interconnection between our tradition and the living world. By letting our comprehension of the way species function broaden, the permaculture-inspired ecological transition would allow for another relation to others. In communication sciences, players of the transition movement would be focusing on the present in numerous countries, thus encouraging the creativity of its protagonists based on their abilities and ensuring that daily actions would build the world of tomorrow. Developed by individuals with increased capabilities on environmental issues, inclusive, this cultural movement would rely on different narrative structures composing a communication gathering facts and sensitive experiences. From a corpus of movies that marked a turning point in the field of ecological documentary films, and the observation of a new permaculture-based transition project, the research conducted in information and communication sciences using an inductive and anthropological method prioritises the study of processes set up by the protagonists as well as the narrative processes employed, allowing to access interpersonal and inter-groups communications showing how people integrate notions of culture, performativity and acculturation in their daily lives. In a context where environmental communication calls up notions of fear, catastrophe and anxiety is the communication around the transition movement showing a change in heuristics?
Suchier, Johann. "Justification du système, idéologies et jugement social : étude de la modernisation écologique selon une perspective de psychologie sociale." Electronic Thesis or Diss., Aix-Marseille, 2021. http://www.theses.fr/2021AIXM0447.
Positioning itself within a critical and societal approach to environmental issues, this thesis proposes to study, from the perspective of social psychology, a social science theory and a conception of environmental policies introduced in environmental sociology: Ecological Modernization (EM). This approach, hegemonic within the European institutions, can be conceptualized as a belief system legitimizing a certain conception of social order and can, therefore, be considered as an ideology. The latter would allow, at the same time, to recognize the existence of environmental problems and to argue that the current socio-economic systems have the capacity to deal with them without undergoing fundamental changes. In a first series of research, we mobilized the System Justification Theory (SJT), as well as the concept of social paradigm, in order to study the extent to which the EM could play the role of a social order legitimizing ideology at a psychological level. In a second series of research, we studied the normative dimension of EM. For this, we mobilized the socio-cognitive approach of norms in articulation with the SJT. This thesis underlines the interest of a social order reading grid for studies related to environmental issues. In this perspective, it invites us to no longer consider pro-environmental beliefs, attitudes, or behaviors as constituting a homogeneous block, but rather to situate them on a continuum according to the degree of social change that they imply
Demulier, Virginie. "Les determinants psychologiques de la planification des transitions psychosociales : vers une approche dispositionnelle." Thesis, Paris 11, 2011. http://www.theses.fr/2011PA113001.
Post-transitional adaptation depends on transition planning. However, many people do not plan ahead, exposing themselves to psychological distress following the transition. Thus, this doctoral project thus focuses on mechanisms underlying transition planning and attempts to explain individual differences in terms of planning. More precisely, we support the thesis that dispositional variables determine the processes that explain transition planning. Although personality traits are linked to reactions and adaptation to transition, research evaluating the role of personality in transition planning is lacking. Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (Ajzen, 1991), Beehr’model (1986), the Social Cognitive Career Theory (Lent, Brown, & Hackett, 1994) and the Five Factor Model (Digman, 1990), this doctoral project aims to identify personality factors explaining psychosocial transition planning. It demonstrates that sociocognitive variables contribute to retirement planning from elite sport (study 1). Personality traits influence the planned retirement age from work (study 2). In addition, conscientiousness contributes to career planning among elite athletes through career goals and self-efficacy (study 3). Finally, personality traits predict career planning amongst students (study 4). Overall, this project contributes to highlighting personality traits as determinants of sociocognitive mechanisms of transition planning and further provides a better understanding of processes underlying individual differences in psychosocial transition planning. Finally this doctoral project demonstrates the need to individualize support to better assist individuals in transition preparation
Circular economy is meeting with growing success in society and appears to be a major lever that can be put to the service of the ecological transition. But paradoxically enough, the current craze around this new model seems more linked to its utopian dimension than to its scientific solidity. This observation raises several questions such as: why are so many actors attracted by a concept that is still unclear? What can management science teach us about this phenomenon? How can circular economy help foster an ecological transition? Until now, academic literature has paid little attention to the utopian dimension of circular economy and its impact in terms of collective action. In order to study this phenomenon, the thesis focuses on the cognitive, organizational and inter-organizational mechanisms that underlie the transition of a territory to circular economy. Using the case of public procurement in the construction sector, we then question the transition studies (Markard et al., 2012) to propose a transition model conceptualizing the mechanisms that can enable economic, social and political actors to support the transition of their local area to circular economy. This model starts from the processes that lead entrepreneurs to design innovations, and then conceptualizes the mechanisms that lead public and private organizations to cooperate with these entrepreneurs, before explaining the mechanisms from which this dynamic of collective action can materialize the transition of a territory

This study was completed in Hungary between 2014 and 2017. Hungary is considered a transit country for asylum seekers and unaccompanied minors. While the country's borders were strictly controlled during the communist era, asylum seekers began arriving in the country in the post-communist period and from the early 2000's, the number of asylum seekers has increased considerably. A parallel trend can be observed in the number of whom are hosted by Hungary. This research aims to identify how young refugees, most of whom arrived as accompanied minors, form their pathways of resilience in the difficult political context of Hungary. Trauma and resilience served as conceptual frameworks for this study, wich begins with a theoretical-clinical overview of aforementioned concepts. Thes are also challenged in the study. The author attempts to define the notion of resilience in the specific context of refuge. Given the fact that very little is known about the psychological wellbeing of young refugees in Hungary, this research qualifies as an exploratory study. For this reason, a Grounded Theory approach was use to gain data inductively from the analysis of 13 interviews, wich were completed with young refugees between the ages of 18 and 24. Furthermore, the study includes field studies and interviews completed with professionals working in the sector, as well as the summary of the participatory observation the autor took part in during the refugees crisis in Hungary [...]
Lacombe, Camille. "Approche pragmatiste de l'accompagnement d'une transition agroécologique : une recherche action avec une association d'éleveurs et conseillers dans le rayon de Roquefort." Thesis, Toulouse, INPT, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018INPT0135/document.
We explore in this research the organizational dimensions of agroecological transition and the ways to support it locally. The support of agroecological transition requires connecting differentprocesses of individual and collective transformations of agricultural development and production activities. We design a device for action reseach within an agroecological transition project, carriedby a farmers and advisers association in the Roquefort area. We implement with them a social experiment to explore this problem both from theoretical and practical point of view. In our casethe connection between individual and collective transformation of participant activities required farmers and advisers to design together tools to accompany the agroecological transition on farms. This process allowed the debate about the diversity of agricultural models and representations that actors have regarding agroecological transition. It as well allows engaging advisers and farmers jointly in the agroecological transition. These transformations have been enhanced by the fact that the co-design process was organized as a dialogical process between design and experimentation of the tools in diverse real situations of use on farms. At the end of this journey, we propose to develop a pragmatist approach to accompany locally the agroecological transition
Ameur, Fatah. "Construction de la surexploitation et reproduction des inégalités d’accès et d’usage des eaux souterraines : Cas des exploitations agricoles dans le Saïss (Maroc)." Thesis, Paris, AgroParisTech, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017AGPT0009.
In many semi-arid regions, groundwater use enabled agricultural intensification through so-called green revolutions. This intensification enabled farmers to mitigate the lack of water and generate more wealth. However, this also induced riskier pathways due to high production costs and volatile agricultural markets. This also caused overexploitation of groundwater resources in many areas, putting at risk the sustainability of the “groundwater economy” (GWE). New inequalities thus appear, as certain social categories cannot follow the declining water tables. The aim of this thesis is to analyze how the construction of overexploitation and the reproduction of inequalities in the access and the use of groundwater are mutually reinforcing. We adopted a “user perspective” in our research approach, as this perspective received little attention in the international debate on groundwater governance. The study was carried out in a small area of 4200 ha in the Saïss plain in Morocco. First a method was developed to specify the contributions of different social categories of farmer to overexploitation. Then the link between overexploitation and inequality was analyzed. The impact of both issues on the socio-economic differentiation of farms was then studied. Finally, a participatory approach was developed to involve farmers and institutional actors in a reflection on the agricultural future of the zone facing the twin problem of overexploitation and inequality. The results show the importance of direct measurement of groundwater withdrawals, in addition to indirect methods, to explain differences in irrigation practices. These measures specify the contributions of the different social categories of farmers to overexploitation, of which currently the entire agricultural sector is accused. The study shows that overexploitation cannot be dissociated from inequalities in access to and use of groundwater, both problems are part of a vicious cycle. Groundwater overexploitation exacerbates -and is exacerbated by- existing inequalities. This reciprocal relation explains the contrasting fortunes of farmers involved in the GWE in the Saïss. New investors are accumulating wealth by cultivating state-subsidized fruit trees and engaging in a land concentration process. Lessees show productivistic logic and generate considerable revenues at the expense of water and soil resources. Conversely, the assignees of the agrarian reform are ejected from this GWE, sometimes even poorer than they were before accessing it. They are caught in a centrifugal dynamic where the most vulnerable undergo socio-economic exclusion due to declining water tables and overproduction undermining the prices on the market, for which they are not responsible. Since financial capital has become the key factor in production systems under the GWE, the agrarian boom benefits farmers/entrepreneurs who are financially capable of bringing together all production factors. They are likely to continue intensive and high value-added agriculture, perhaps until the resource is depleted. Finally, our study questions the implications of such agricultural dynamics at the territorial scale through an intergenerational debate on the challenges to be overcome. The study revealed the entrepreneurial spirit of the sons of assignees coupled with a territorial anchorage, which could well constitute major assets for a more sustainable development of their territory. The thesis recommends making visible the inequalities related to the overexploitation problem. Knowing the amounts of extracted groundwater, where, and by whom, and clarifying the links between overexploitation and inequalities in access to and use of groundwater could provide useful information for more informed groundwater management in compliance with the principles of sustainability

This dissertation focuses on students’ adaptation in transition. It is based on a French-Canadian comparison between freshmen students and international Vietnamese students. With the aim to shed a new light on the process of their adaptation, we integrated two theoretical models which allowed us to distinguish two levels of adaptation, one considered as “local” and common to all students, the other as “international” and specific to Vietnamese students (Black, Mendenhall & Oddou, 1991), in which are embedded two dimensions: psychological adaptation and sociocultural adaptation (Ward & Searle, 1991). Anxious personality, followed by adult attachment and daily hassles, appeared as the root of students’ adaptation both at a psychological and sociocultural level. In addition to these “local” aspects, Vietnamese have to deal with two cross-cultural issues: their identification with culture of origin and the different social networks in their environment. Results also highlighted for all students a weakening in their working models of attachment, cultural differences in their potential to form a student body and to socialize within the university and, the existence of individuals “at risk”: these students appeared to be unable to cope effectively with the stress induced by the transition
