Abstract:
Schubert Ogden is often considered a process theologican because, drawing upon the philosophies of Alfred North Whitehead and Charles Hartshorne, he holds a “process” view of the nature of reality and of God. But the strategy used in his philosophical theology makes Ogden a sort of “transcendental” theologian as well. I refer to Ogden's argument in The Reality of God that a necessary condition of the possibility of scientific and moral activity is the kind of confidence in the meaning and worth of life that must be seen as an implicit faith in God. This faith might be characterized as innate or a priori because Ogden portrays it not as derived from, but as presupposed by, all our experience; indeed, Ogden claims that such faith is the necessary condition of the possibility of even “secular” scientific and moral experience. Thus one might see this part of his philosophical theology as pursuing a transcendental strategy of argument.

Abstract:
In his A Theory of Legal Argumentation, Robert Alexy lists four modes of justification for his rules of practical discourse. Of these, the only one that to him seems to have a true foundationalist capability is Apel’s transcendental-pragmatic mode of justification. But there is another strategy, which Alexy calls 'definitional', based on the concept of language game, that seems to have been employed by Ronald Dworkin, in his 'Objectivity and truth. You’d better believe it', in order to reject moral scepticism. In this paper I will argue that these two modes of justification can be traced back, from a logical and genealogical perspective, to one form of argument, the transcendental argument. But I will also argue that there is a peculiar circularity in the way this kind of argument develops, a circularity possibly ascribable to certain idealising presuppositions.

Abstract:
In this paper I introduce the transcendental argument for Christian theism in the context of Reformed theologian and philosopher Cornelius Van Til’s thought. I then present the critique proffered by Barry Stroud against ambitious transcendental arguments, and survey various formulations of transcendental arguments in the literature, seeking how the objection bears upon them. I argue that Adrian Bardon’s (2005) interpretation is the most helpful in understanding the Stroudian objection. From this interpretation, two types of possible rebuttals are deduced. Proceeding to survey the responses offered by Van Tillians to this objection in the recent literature, I discern two general strategies pursued in these responses, which map onto the previously deduced types of rebuttals: the Biblical justification strategy and the objection-undermining strategy. I argue that all the specific attempts to answer Stroud which I examine here (those of Butler, Bosserman, and Fluhrer) are inadequate and that these two strategies, in general, face serious problems. I conclude with considering the options before the proponent of the transcendental argument for Christian theism and with offering a new objection to the argument, which focuses on its inconsistency with the implications of Christian theism itself.

Abstract:
According to the orthodox view, it is impossible to know how different people's preferences compare in terms of strength and whether they are interpersonally comparable at all. Against the orthodox view, Donald Davidson (1986, 2004) argues that the interpersonal comparability of preferences is a necessary condition for the correct interpretation of other people's behaviour. In this paper I claim that, as originally stated, Davidson's argument does not succeed because it is vulnerable to several objections, including Barry Stroud's (1968) objection against all transcendental arguments of a ‘strong’ kind. However, I argue that Davidson's strategy can still achieve results of anti-sceptical significance. If we reformulate Davidson's argument as a ‘modest’ transcendental argument and if we embrace an ‘internal’ account of epistemic justification, it is in fact possible to have at least justified beliefs about how different people's preferences compare in terms of strength and about their interpersonal comparability.

Abstract:
This article explains in ten points the concepts of substance, change and matter that appear in the transcendental Analytics of Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason as categories and schemes, as well as how they function in the Analogies of Experience. It aims to demonstrate how the category in general, and that of substance in particular, are, in their transcendental ideality, a strategy of the subject to order and objectify the phenomenal world. It establishes that change is also necessary a priori, that both change (accident) and persistence (substance), as well as all appearances, are finite and limited. This would lead to the affirmation that only matter, transcendental matter, is entirely persistent; however, transcendental matter is not a sensible object and therefore those sensible objects that relatively persist in time-space are the only empirical reality of the substance. Finally, matter is made up of forces, and given that there is nothing simple in matter, it can be inferred that empirical substance is nothing other than a field of forces. Abstract:
Science—in the forms of Western theoretical science, empirical research, and revised Vedic teachings—has played at least three different roles over the last fifty years in the evolving public and internal teachings of the Transcendental Meditation Organization (TMO) of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The first phase, starting in 1957, emphasized the power of Indian spiritual teachings to transform the world, and science was downplayed. The second phase, beginning in 1970, was marked by a sudden transformation of the TMO from a small, exotic Indian-based meditation movement to an aggressively modern, science-based, crypto-spiritual business dedicated to bringing optimal physiological and psychological functioning to the world. In the third phase, from the 1980s, a self-selected, relatively small group of dedicated followers entered an enchanted land in which cutting-edge theories from quantum physics were employed creatively to bolster Maharishi's extensively reinterpreted Vedic sciences. It seems likely that this third stage, in which Western science is useful and valid only to the extent that it confirms the ancient Vedic truths, was the destination toward which Maharishi was heading from the inception of his movement. While it is possible that these stages reveal the gradual evolution of Maharishi's thought, it seems more likely that they are the expression of a deliberate strategy of progressive revelation.

Abstract:
The present paper has as objective to explain the phenomenological problem of the relation between the consciousness and the world. Impelled by the slogan of the "return to the things itself", the phenomenology of E. Husserl (1858-1938) adopts, through a methodological point of view, the call "phenomenological reduction", that is, the suspension of the judgement in relation to the natural world, to recover it, in the consciousness, in an indubitable way, in his pure meaning. The paper tries to explain the specificity of the phenomenological attitude and the methodological strategy adopted by the phenomenology to do a "rigorous science" of the philosophy.

Abstract:
This paper critically examines the philosophical foundations of Colin Wilson’s New Existentialism. I will show how Wilson’s writings promoted a phenomenological strategy for understanding states of ecstatic affirmation within so-called ‘peak experiences’. Wilson subsequently attempted to use the life affirming insights bestowed by peak states to establish an ontological ground for values to serve as a foundation for his New Existentialism. Because of its psychological focus however, I argue that Wilson’s New Existentialism contains an ambivalent framework for establishing ontological categories, which leads his thought into theoretical difficulties. More precisely, Wilson’s strategy runs into problems in coherently integrating its explicitly psychological interpretation of Husserl’s theory of intentionality within a broader, and philosophically coherent, phenomenological framework. Wilson’s psychological reading of Husserl’s transcendental reduction, for example, manifests tensions in how it reconciles the empirical basis of acts of transcendence with an essentialist conception of the self as a transcendental ego. The above tensions, I argue, ultimately render the New Existentialism susceptible to criticism from a Husserlian-transcendental perspective. After outlining a Husserlian critique of Wilson’s position, I end the paper by suggesting how some of the central insights of the New Existentialism might help to bridge the gap that persists between pure phenomenological description and metaphysics.

Abstract:
The range of outcomes and published record on the Transcendental Meditation technique across 50 years of research in education, business, and government makes its application unique. Its association with health and relation to an individual’s quality-of-life have also made the technique useful in some developing countries. Data related to application of the technique to higher education in Cambodia have been accruing since the early 1990s. The 26-year research program begun by these authors associated with Transcendental Meditation and non-verbal intelligence, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, learning, memory, and personality in university students, as well as its collective effects on economic and social indicators and reductions in socio-political violence and crime, makes for an uncommonly rich body of knowledge in a country where empirical research has been rare. Indeed, the early studies in this research program represented among the first published research on higher education since the 1960s, after which Cambodia was plunged into civil war, genocide, and ongoing social turmoil and political conflict until 1993. The present study, which is a modified version of a study previously published in ASEAN Journal of Education, extends this research program to include a preliminary investigation of the practice of Transcendental Meditation by faculty and staff in three regional Cambodian universities and examines its impact on health and well-being. Findings generated by a concurrent, quasi-experimental mixed methods design suggest the practice may be of benefit to university personnel as measured by physical mental and social health, perceived health, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression, among other quality-of-life variables, thereby adding to previous results associated with higher education in this increasingly important south-east Asian nation.

Abstract:
Purpose To identify the Transcendental Essence of Humanity, the purpose of this paper is to describe in brief what kind of research became possible when the theory of, e.g. autopoiesis, Husserl’s Transcendental Consciousness and the theory of Rhodes and Thame came together to form a “transcendental” interview methodology. Design/methodology/approach Critical conceptual implications are drawn to form a new research method to explore a de-subjectified inner domain and to search for a possible common essence of humanity. Findings A Transcendental Emotional Reference was found practically alien to contemporary perspectives. Still, the reference governs the emotional structure of human experience. This different perspective answers basic questions of morality, organization theory and leadership. Research limitations/implications The findings of the new research open a new and transparent perspective answering Grey’s question: “What is it to be human?” (Grey, p. 47, 2014.) A perspective shedding new light on the humanities. A research limitation is the number of respondents. Still, being transcendental the findings are theoretically valid for all. Originality/value The paper is based on a unique research enabling 32+ (ongoing research) respondents to explore their own and universally shared Transcendental domain.

Abstract:
John McDowell has recently changed his line of response to philosophical scepticism about the external world. He now claims to be in a position to use the strategy of transcendental argumentation in order to show the falsity of the sceptic’s misrepresentation of our ordinary epistemic standpoint. Since this transcendental argument begins from a weak and widely shared assumption shared with the sceptic herself the falsity of external world scepticism is now demonstrable even to her. Building on the account of perceptual intentionality defended in the Woodbridge lectures, McDowell argues that the idea of narrow perceptual content is unavailable to anyone, including the sceptic. This argument is assessed by drawing out an analogy with parallel responses to error theories in ethics.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Objectives: This article aims to explain the causes of criminal acts of violence that occur in cases of violence involving the masses and explicate the concept of preventing violent crimes involving masses who have a transcendental paradigm. Methodology: This research was qualitative nondoctrinal research. The strategy of applying Preventive Law with a Transcendental paradigm as a concept of preventing criminal acts of mass violence with religious nuances is as a way to reduce the emotions of the masses and eliminate the intention of the masses to commit acts of violence. The sources of data were in the form of research and interviews of cases of mass violence. The data analysis used interpretation techniques based on the (premise) stage of mass violence, according to Niel Smelser and transcendental preventive patterns in accordance with the literature reviews of books and scientific journals. Results: The results showed that violence is an act against the law (onrechtmatige daad), where it is the human state of nature. In the crowd, people will imitate other people's actions, lose control, and take aggressive actions. The law is a tool for social engineering to prevent crime, maintain an orderly society, and provide protection for citizens. Law enforcement is prioritized using soft methods (the soft hand of society) to prevent violence from happening with a transcendental paradigm approach to restoring human nature, according to Surah Ali Imran (3) paragraph 110, namely amar ma'ruf, which contains transcendental ethical values. Functions: This research is useful in the implementation of the Transcendental Preventive Law for law enforcement officers, in this case, the National Police, as an effort to break the 4th stage, namely the stage before triggering incidents occur. It is intended that at the time of mass violence, the Preventive Transcendental Law can cool down the emotions of the masses while at the same time restore human awareness that peace, compassion, and the world and its contents are a gift that must be accountable to God Almighty. Originality/Novelty: Transcendental Preventive Law is an effort to prevent violent crime in mass violence that is based on transcendental principles, by giving a religious touch to remind the masses that violence is a sinful act and to remind the existence of God Almighty.

In a review of the book “Manifest Reality. Kant's Idealism and his Realism” I present Lucy Allais's moderate metaphysical interpretation of Kant's transcendental idealism. An overview of the structure of the book acquaints the reader with the author's argumentation strategy. Allais criticizes the dominant interpretations of Kant's transcendental idealism and reveals their contradictions. Further, she develops her own interpretation of Kant's position, combining realism and idealism, metaphysical and epistemological judgments. Intuition plays a central role in the elicited epistemological contrast between intuition and concepts, and between intuition and sensation.

Abstract:
In a crucial paragraph (KrV, A 663-664 / B 691-692) of the first part of the “Appendix to the Transcendental Dialectic”, Kant discusses the specific status of the principles of homogeneity, specification, and continuity. In doing so, he refers to an already proven argument and thus to other passages of the Critique of Pure Reason. In search of this argument the “Transcendental Analytic” but in particular the “first book” of the “Transcendental Dialectic” turn out to be possible reference points. Although this contextualisation demands further systematic and editorial reflections, it also allows the clarification of the status of the principles and their justification in relation to a subjective deduction. Kant offers with the subjective deduction, as introduced in the “Preface” (of the first edition of the Critique of Pure Reason) and again in the “first book” of the “Transcendental Dialectic”, a first argumentative strategy, which differs from the objective one but provides “some objective validity” (KrV, A 664 / B 692; Kant, 1998, p. 602) and therefore has systematic importance for the principles of homogeneity, specification, and continuity. My aim is to offer immanent strategies for a justification of the principles of homogeneity, specification, and continuity in the framework of the Critique of Pure Reason.

Abstract:
The article shows the development of historical and philosophical problems in Neo-Scholasticism and Neo-Thomism. There are two key goals that authors of historical and philosophical models of the development of intellectual culture sought to solve: primarily, this is the legitimation of Scholasticism as a philosophical tradition, and secondly, its actualization in the context of the philosophical and theological discussions of their time. After the 1840s catholic intellectuals realized a gap to the medieval and post-medieval scholastic tradition, and their historical and philosophical research ceased to be a tool for legitimizing of interpretation of Thomism, which claims to be authoritative. Intervention of scholasticism into the problems of philosophy in the 19th century led to a determination of their relationship to Kant and post-Kantian projects of transcendental philosophy. As a result, Joseph Maréchal SJ formed a project of Transcendental Thomism: he moved from the strategy of legitimizing scholasticism through historical and philosophical material to the strategy of transformation of Thomism to form the program of Scholasticism that would correspond to the “Epoch of Criticism”.

Delayed plant disease mathematical models including continuous cultural control strategy and impulsive cultural control strategy are presented and investigated. Firstly, we consider continuous cultural control strategy in which continuous replanting of healthy plants is taken. The existence and local stability of disease-free equilibrium and positive equilibrium are studied by analyzing the associated characteristic transcendental equation. And then, plant disease model with impulsive replanting of healthy plants is also considered; the sufficient condition under which the infected plant-free periodic solution is globally attritive is obtained. Moreover, permanence of the system is studied. Some numerical simulations are also given to illustrate our results.

Abstract:
In theCritique of Fure ReasonKant distinguishes two sorts of conditions of knowledge. First, there are the space and time of pure intuition, introduced in the Transcendental Aesthetic. They are grounded in our dependence on a special sort of perceptual (or imaginative) field for the location of objects. Second, there are pure concepts of the understanding, or categories, introduced in the Analytic. In one respect these are grounded in the logical function of the understanding in judgements, introduced in the first chapter of the analytic of concepts: Clue to the Discovery of All Pure Concepts of the Understanding; in another respect, they are grounded in transcendental unity of apperception, which is introduced in the second chapter: Deduction of the Pure Concepts of the Understanding, or Transcendental Deduction. I shall be concerned with the latter and its contribution to the overall strategy of argument in the analytic. Within the Analytic, Kant distinguishes between an Analytic of Concepts and an Analytic of Principles (also called ‘transcendental doctrine of judgement’ [A137/B176]). This corresponds to a traditional distinction between a doctrine of concepts (or understanding) and judgement. It is arguable that Kant's theory of concepts undermines this distinction. However, I shall not deal with that general issue, but with a more specific issue related to the first two chapters of the Analytic of Principles: the Schematism and the System of Principles. (The third chapter, on phenomena and noumena, is basically an appendix.)

First, I argue that his naturalistic reconstruction of critical realist transcendental arguments shows that transcendental arguments should be treated as a rare curiosity rather than a general argumentative strategy. Second, I suggest that Kaidesoja’s analysis does not really justify his optimism about the usefulness of causal powers ontology in the social sciences. Third, I raise some doubts about the heuristic value of Mario Bunge’s social ontology that Kaidesoja presents as a replacement for critical realist ontology. Finally, I propose an alternative way to analyze failures of aggregativity that might better serve Kaidesoja’s purposes than the Wimsattian scheme he employs in the book.

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to show that in the Sophist Plato develops a dialectical strategy that appeals to necessary conditions of language as a fundamental step toward establishing some principles of his ontology. This strategy constitutes a clear antecedent of the elenctic refutation offered by Aristotle in Metaphysics Gamma 4 against the denier of the principle of non-contradiction and could be described as transcendental because it refers to conditions without which there wouldn’t be any speech. The paper aims to show that such a strategy is used both by Plato and Aristotle to deal with radical adversaries whose refutation allows the establishment of basic theses of their own philosophies.

AbstractTo assert the primacy of objective spirit is to claim that certain distinctively human capacities, such as thinking and acting, are not capacities we have as individuals considered singly but are in some way dependent on shared public norms or social institutions. In this essay, I provide a brief history of arguments for the primacy of objective spirit from Hegel to the present, identifying three distinct strategies for defending this thesis: the teleological argument, the sociological argument and the quasi-transcendental argument. Although it has now become quite common to read Hegel as advancing a quasi-transcendental argument, one similar to the argument found in Wittgenstein’s famous remarks about ‘rule-following’, I show that Hegel’s most interesting claims about the social dimensions of human mindedness are incompatible with this strategy and can only be vindicated if he is read as offering a teleological argument.

As a non-BLU (non-public service agency) college with the largest number of students and PNBP (non-tax state revenues) in Indonesia, IAIN Surakarta requires a strategy in improving employee performance, especially the finance staff. This study uses a non-probability purposive sampling. The questionnaire was distributed to 230 respondents consisting of leaders, structural officials, finance staff, lecturers receiving research assistance, and administrators of the student activity unit (UKM). By using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method, data and hypotheses are analyzed using AMOS 21.0 software. The results of the study highlighted that transcendental knowledge sharing has a significant effect on the performance of finance staff. Transformational leadership, Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) and affective commitments with transcendental knowledge sharing mediation significantly affect the budget implementation performance. The implication of the research is to strengthen the financial policies at IAIN Surakarta and professional governance to improve the budget implementation performance.

Abstract:
The article deals with the problems of change management in the new conditions of superfragility of the BANI-world. Interpretations of the concepts of “transcendental thinking”, “digital consciousness”, “immersiveness” are given. The prerequisites substantiating the idea that transcendental thinking needs to be cultivated in the organisation in order to achieve effective management flexibility are presented. The latter is formed in the broader context of the digital consciousness organisational culture, without which it is impossible to set up the organisation’s staff for a positive perception of immersive management practices and the digital technologies productive use. Barriers to the transformation of organisational processes have been identified. It has been shown that the digital transformation of the organisation increases the resistance on the part of the staff by digital resistance plane, when aversion to any change correlates with a lack of understanding of digital opportunities. The relationship between the conceptual methodologies of digital consciousness and metacognition and the effectiveness of the formation of a change management strategy has been established.

Abstract:
It is well known that Kant’s aesthetics is framed intersubjectively because he upholds the claim of taste to universality. However, the transcendental foundation of this shared universality is a supersensible ground which is taken for granted but which cannot be brought directly into communicative experience. Kant’s reliance on the synthetic a priori structure of aesthetic judgment also removes it from the sphere of observable personal interaction. This argumentative strategy exposes it to skeptical challenge and generates inaccessible references to inner representations (be they intuitions, categories of the understanding or rational ideas). It is not sufficient, as Kant did, to propose a description of aesthetic experience that is subjectively plausible and thereby claim its intersubjective validity. It is indispensable to embody intersubjectivity in behavior and language. In practical intersubjectivity, aesthetic attitudes are dealt with in a concrete and accessible manner without relying on mentalistic assumptions as a foundation. Conceptual terms such as 'agreeable’, 'beauty’, 'sublime’, 'ugly’, 'universality’ acquire new meaning in a conversational context and aesthetic claims are tested in a dialogical game semantics model.

Abstract:
Recent scholarship further substantiates the observation that Cornelius Van Til depends on Herman Bavinck for his own constructive efforts. This observation creates a stimulus for comparative studies on the two theologians. In this essay I offer one such comparison by tracing an antithesis-synthesis strategy present in both Bavinck and Van Til. Though they share a motivation from the doctrine of common grace, the two theologians apply the strategy in distinct (though related) ways: Bavinck applies it for theological construction in a manner symbiotic with his organic ontology, while Van Til develops it into a self-consciously transcendental mode of reasoning and apologetics. This observation gives us insights as to why both theologians have been received (and misinterpreted) in similar ways, and that Van Til, though deeply dependent and influenced by Bavinck, developed Bavinck’s synthetic tendencies in ways that Bavinck did not do.

Abstract:
This article presents the case that while Foucault’s ideas have been the subject of much debate, the distinctive transformative potentials of his immanent thought have tended to have been overlooked in the field to date. In making this case, critical realism provides an important counter-example, as a transcendental orientation to critical practice with significant influence in contemporary organization studies. In drawing out the difference between these contrasting orientations to critique, Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analytic (CDA) framework is evaluated here as an approach to organization studies that took early inspiration from Foucault’s work, while having looked towards critical realist ideas in recent years. Fairclough’s writings on discourse and university ‘marketization’ provide a useful empirical focus to explore the distinctive styles of problem-posing that follow from these different critical orientations; contrasting the distanced normativity of critical realist-informed transcendentalism with the situated, transformative potentials of Foucault’s immanent thought. Through these investigations, the article offers a reappraisal of existing lines of debate on Foucault and critical realism in organization studies, and of the value of Foucault’s ideas to the field more broadly.

Abstract:
COVID-19 haunts people's lives, especially participants of the COVID-19 swab test in Indonesia. This study aimed to describe the communication strategy carried out by COVID-19 swab test participants in managing anxiety, the uncertainty of information, and finding patterns of communication networks while waiting for laboratory test results. This study was conducted qualitatively; data was collected with a semi-open questionnaire through social media networks with the google form applcation on 61 informants of the COVID-19 swab test participants in Indonesia. Furthermore, the data was analyzed using the flow model and UCINET-NetDraw software. As a result of the study, a few communication strategies were recommended by COVID-19 swab test participants in managing anxiety and uncertainty namely: first, transcendental communication strategy by approaching and praying to God; second, phatic communication strategy to build personal communication that has an impact on feelings of pleasure; third, a communication strategy built with the pattern of interpersonal networks with the closest people. Parents and friends played an important role in helping participants manage anxiety. Furthermore, general practitioners provided health information to their patients. These three communication strategies helped increase the body's immunity when sick and develop humanistic communication patterns in the health sector.

This study aims to explore the perceptions of the community and tourists on the development plan for the marine alms ecotourism in the island of kelapa, and to formulate a communication strategy policy for the development of ecotourism in the Kelapa Island village. The approach used is a combination of communicative and qualitative approaches. Data analysis was compiled using tabulation, then interpreted descriptively qualitatively in accordance with the research objectives. The communication strategy implementation plan is carried out through a SWOT analysis. The perception of the village community to participate in its management so as to increase business opportunities and income. In addition, it can preserve rituals as a habitual action (hereditary action) and also contain transcendental values while maintaining natural preservation. The perception of visitors to the existence of sea alms strongly supports the ritual of "Sea Alms" which is used as a tourist attraction for marine culture, by displaying dance, culinary arts and typical Bugis cultural symbols which are ornaments of marine tourism attractions. Recommendations for ecotourism development communication strategies are: (1). Creating seaside village branding (2) conducting intensive promotions (3) Synergizing ecotourism with local culture and wisdom (4) Empowering local communities in ecotourism activities.

Abstract:
The concept of inclusivism was introduced by German indologist Paul Hacker (1913–1979) to designate a specific polemical strategy characteristic to Indian religious teachings. Inclusivism is described as adoptiong the views of alien religious groups and including them in the own doctrine at a hierarchically subordinate place. In Hacker’s view, inclusivism is an intellectual practice widely used in the rivalry between different religious traditions in India, and as such it should be distinguished from European tolerance. In recent forty years the concept of inclusivism has been widely discussed and criticized. Gerhard Oberhammer, in particular, objected against interpreting inclusivism as a social strategy. In the context of his doctrine of transcendental hermeneutics, he considered inclusivism to be a normative way in which many Indian religious traditions developed their canons of scripture. In this paper I analyze the concept of inclusivism in the works of Hacker and Oberhammer and discuss its’ outlook in contemporary indological studies. A broad interpretation of inclusivism as an implicit textual strategy characteristic to intellectual traditions at different periods of Indian history makes this concept a promising tool for a study of Indian philosophy and Indian culture.

Abstract:
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the productivity of rice production by decomposing the growth of total factor productivity (TFP) into four components: technological change, scale effects, technical and allocative efficiencies.Design/methodology/approachThis study employed an econometric approach to decompose TFP growth into four components: technological change, technical efficiency, allocative efficiency and scale effect. Unbalanced panel data used in this study were surveyed in 1994, 2004 and 2014 from 360 rice farming operations. The model used the stochastic frontier transcendental logarithm production technology to estimate the technology parameters.FindingsThe results indicate that the primary sources of TFP growth were technological change and allocative efficiency effects. The contribution of technical efficiency was low because it grew sluggishly.Research limitations/implicationsThis study has several shortcomings, such as very lowR2and the insignificant elasticity of labour presented in the findings. Another limitation is the limited time period panel covering long interval, which resulted in unbalanced data.Practical implicationsThe government should improve productivity growth by allocating more areas for rice production, which enhances the scale and efficiency effects and adjusting the use of capital and material inputs. Extension services should be strengthened to provide farmers with training on improved agronomic technologies. This action will enhance technical efficiency performance and lead to technological progress.Social implicationsAs Indonesian population is still growing at a significant rate and the fact that rice is the primary staple food for Indonesian people, the productivity of rice production should increase continually to ensure social security at a national level.Originality/valueThe productivity growth is decomposed into four components using the transcendental logarithm production technology based on farm-level data. The measure has not been conducted previously in Indonesia, even in rice-producing countries.

Abstract:
This article will examine the relation between religion and religious symbol in television media industry era in Indonesia. In order to understand religion thought which is transcendental, community needs religious symbol. Religious symbol contains several codes that can be interpreted socially and culturally. Television as an industry produces religious code as a comodity. Religious comodity then being used as a strategy to widen its viewer. Relation between those conditions can lead to a new mass culture and symbolic religiosity. In mass society, religion turns into an entertainment instead of guidance. In the end, religion in social life will be practiced by consuming religious symbol only. This condition shows the lack of religious spirituality. Where, religion without spirituality only leaves ritual.

Abstract:
ImportanceHealth care workers (HCWs) have been experiencing substantial stress and burnout, and evidence-based mitigation strategies are needed. Transcendental Meditation (TM) is a mantra meditation practice with potential efficacy in reducing stress.ObjectiveTo assess the efficacy of TM practice in reducing stress among HCWs over a 3-month period.Design, Setting, and ParticipantsThis single-center open-label randomized clinical trial was conducted among HCWs at an academic medical center from November 19, 2020, to August 31, 2021. Inclusion criteria comprised a score of 6 points or greater on the Subjective Units of Distress Scale and an increase of 5% or greater in baseline heart rate or an increase of 33% or greater in galvanic skin response after exposure to a stressful script. Exclusion criteria included the use of antipsychotic or β blocker medications, current suicidal ideation, or previous TM training. Of 213 HCWs who participated in prescreening, 95 attended in-person visits, resulting in 80 eligible participants who were randomized to receive a TM intervention (TM group) or usual treatment (control group).InterventionsThe TM group practiced TM for 20 minutes twice daily over a 3-month period. The control group received usual treatment, which consisted of access to wellness resources.Main Outcomes and MeasuresThe primary outcome was change in acute psychological distress measured by the Global Severity Index. Secondary outcomes included changes in burnout (measured by the Maslach Burnout Inventory), insomnia (measured by the Insomnia Severity Index), and anxiety (measured by the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 scale).ResultsAmong 80 participants, 66 (82.5%) were women, with a mean (SD) age of 40 (11) years. One participant (1.3%) was American Indian or Alaska Native, 5 (6.3%) were Asian, 12 (15.0%) were Black, 59 (73.8%) were White, and 3 (3.8%) were of unknown or unreported race; 4 participants (5.0%) were Hispanic, and 76 (95.0%) were non-Hispanic. A total of 41 participants were randomized to the TM group, and 39 were randomized to the control group. Participants in the TM group did not show a statistically significant decrease in psychological distress on the Global Severity Index compared with those in the control group (−5.6 points vs −3.8 points; between-group difference, −1.8 points; 95% CI, −4.2 to 0.6 points; P = .13). Compared with the control group, the TM group had significantly greater reductions in the secondary end points of emotional exhaustion (Maslach Burnout Inventory subscore: −8.0 points vs −2.6 points; between-group difference, −5.4 points; 95% CI, −9.2 to −1.6 points; P = .006), insomnia (Insomnia Severity Scale score: −4.1 points vs −1.9 points; between-group difference, −2.2 points; 95% CI, −4.4 to 0 points; P = .05), and anxiety (Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 score: −3.1 points vs −0.9 points; between-group difference, −2.2 points; 95% CI, −3.8 to −0.5; P = .01) at 3 months. A total of 38 participants (92.7%) in the TM group adhered to home practice. Conclusions and RelevanceIn this randomized clinical trial, TM practice among HCWs over a 3-month period did not result in a statistically significant reduction in the primary outcome of acute psychological distress compared with usual treatment but significantly improved the secondary outcomes of burnout, anxiety, and insomnia. These findings suggest that TM may be a safe and effective strategy to alleviate chronic stress among HCWs.Trial RegistrationClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT04632368

Abstract:
The processes of meaning building act as adaptive mechanisms for the reaction of the experiencing individual to changes in the external and internal world. The building of personal meanings is based on a s meaning choice that reflects the preferences of the individual in the direction of his development. The mismatch and unevenness of the biological, mental and social development of a person can lead to an insufficient level of adaptation in the form of personality infantilism. Such immaturity of the personality may be associated with incomplete formation of the emotional-volitional sphere, due to the predominance of children's character traits, the influence of upbringing and relationships with parents. The reasons for personal infantilism are the constant acceleration of scientific and technological progress, cultural variability of society, unclear prospects for life development, high competition in the professional and social sphere. An infantile person experiences difficulties in terms of regulating his activities, lack of reflection, has gaps and deformations in moral self-regulation. This leads to shortcomings in the value- meaning, educational, legal, political, socio-economic, family spheres, in the field of vocational guidance and development. Such a passive adaptation of the s meaning sphere as an insufficient manifestation of the key personality traits in situational interactions reflects a hypoadaptive meaning strategy. Signs of a mature personality: competent professional work and independent development in the chosen field of activity, stable personal and family relationships, subjectivity in relations with parents in the form of territorial and economic independence, consistent development of the range of mental, social roles and transcendental roles in various social groups, the ability to personal self-determination of the experiencing subject in relations with other people.

This study presents the application of differential evolution algorithm to compute optimal switching angles for a single-phase nine-level inverter to improve the output voltage quality. The topology of the proposed inverter in this article is a simple cascade converter composed of two H-bridge cells with non-equal DC voltage sources in order to generate multiple voltage levels. Selective harmonic elimination pulse width modulation strategy is used to improve the generated AC output voltage waveform. The differential evolution optimization algorithm is used to solve non-linear transcendental equations necessary for the (SHPWM). Computational results obtained from computer simulations presented a good agreement with the theoretical predictions. A laboratory prototype based on STM32F407 microcontroller was built in order to validate the simulation results. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed modulation method.

The aim of this paper is to define transcendental relativization, by using the binary in some anthropological works, and to give a description of it along with Niklas Luhmann’s sociology. We examine how the binary [the West/non-West] has been used in some anthropological works and how it has contributed not only to understanding ‘them’ as a research object but also to realizing ‘our’ conceptual limitations. This paper is an attempt to deal with political or power-relational asymmetry and scientific observational asymmetry in anthropological works. Luhmann’s sociology, which is based on the functional analysis and theory of social systems, shows that the binary approach in anthropology can be seen as a semantic form of science system, which realizes the existence of blind spots in anthropological observation, and is a possible strategy for anthropological investigations.

Abstract:
In variable speed drive (VSD), it is desirable to reduce the harmonic effects, which causes current distortion and torque pulsation, besides, the harmonic power losses is an additional power losses that is introduced in the motor due to the presence of harmonic voltages. However, the problem of the high total harmonic current distortion (THD) still exists specially at low and medium speeds by using sub-optimal pulse width modulation (PWM) strategy. In the past to generate optimized PWM, is done by defining a general PWM in terms of a set of switching angles. Which result in a set of nonlinear equations in terms of the unknown switching angles. These equations are nonlinear as well as transcendental in nature. There is no efficient method that can be applied to solve such equations. The practical method of solving these equations is a trial and error process. Taking all the factors into account, a numerical technique can be applied to solve these set of nonlinear equations, but with some limitations. To overcome these limitations, Genetic algorithms (GAs) serves to search for optimal switching angles setting. In addition, the (THD) will be reduced, this lead to obtain the optimal PWM waveform and to simplify the practical implementation, and then improving the performance of the system output. GAs were employed as a search and optimization engine. Normally the tuning of the switching angles is a trail and error problem. In this paper, GAs provides a much simpler approach to off-line tuning of PWM switching angles than the rather complicated non-genetic optimization algorithms

Abstract:
This article is devoted to revealing the identity dimension of the Yi-an style, i.e., the aggregate of the value system of Song poetess Li Qingzhao (1084–1155) becoming apparent in the idea and image content of her ci in such a way that her poems appear to be written by male authors. The empirical material for this research consists of 41 ci, whose authorship is beyond question according to most scientists. These poems were divided into three periods: Youth or Pre-marriage (1099–1101), Marriage (1101–1127), and After the fall of the dynasty and her husband’s death (1127–1155). A hypothesis was made, according to which Li Qingzhao’s works are characterized by traditionally “masculine” values, namely: a) the absolute primacy of scholarship and literary activities in the whole, and b) an emphasis on the transcendental, particularly on immaterial wealth. This hypothesis was tested by applying the chromatic scale to Li Qingzhao’s ci. Poems containing yellow, green, and black colors, and “achromic” ci, were analyzed. This allowed a demonstration of how her highly intimate feelings are embedded in general cosmological and ontological contexts. In particular, the yellow-golden spectrum of Li Qingzhao’s ci reveals the absolute priority of immaterial or intellectual wealth. A blue-green spectrum shows the process of understanding the Self, the value of her own identity, and striving for being, as remembered by performing the typically “male” activity of writing. Black reveals an emphasis on the transcendental, and the increasing number of “achromic” ci toward the end of her life was a strategy for Li Qingzhao to emphasize the process of understanding the self.

Abstract:
Phenomenology is a ritual of Qualitative research methodology. Interviews in healthcare enables researchers to recognise and understand data from lived experiences of the participants by using Phenomenological approach. The purpose of this article is to review the various face to face in depth interviews conducted using Husserl’s descriptive, Heidegger’s interpretive phenomenology or Hermeneutic phenomenological approach in healthcare. The in-depth interview will help to understand the health issues and ethical issues faced by participants. Methodology Four articles were selected based on phenomenological approach. Article.1 was based on Hermeneutic Phenomenology approach. In this study thirteen women were taken as sample. Sampling was done by snowball method. The women were asked to share their rural maternity experience. Data was analyzed without any influence of the researcher. Article.2 was based on Transcendental phenomenology. There were 15 students from 4 different cultural background belonging to different health professional programmes like nursing, medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and physical therapy. Triangulation methods were used and semi structured interviews were conducted, recorded and transcribed. Health professional students shared their lived experience with patients. Article.3 was based on a study conducted using both Transcendental phenomenology for patients interviews and Hermeneutic phenomenology for healthcare professionals’ interviews. The semi structured interview of patient was taken to understand and record their lived experience with the medication without any bias or interpretation and data received was bracketed. The healthcare professionals’ interviews were conducted on Hermeneutic strategy regarding the medications they prescribe for life threatening illnesses. Article 4 was based on Hermeneutic phenomenological approach. There were nine patients selected and in depth semi-structured interviews were conducted. The patients shared their experience of living with a life limiting illness.

Integrity discloses integrative mechanisms for bringing communities together in order to create a development strategy for the city and society in general. Transdisciplinarity explains the mechanism of transcendental space, bringing together a variety of languages, professions, cultures, and etcetera. In this article, we go into examples of bioethical practices that promote the development and implementation of intercultural strategies on an Integrated Bioethics Platform, which can be found in the city both - online and offline. We also make suggestions on the leading types of behavior that are indoctrinated by this platform: networking; involvement through art; awareness of public space and one’s place/one’s self; educational practices.

Abstract:
This article draws on historical explorers’ accounts, ethnography and organisational approaches to examine practices, discourses and perceptions of leadership in 12 prototypical indigenous communities in West and Central Africa. By so doing, it highlights how leadership meanings from this context differ from Anglo-centric thinking and writings. Key to this contribution is an unravelling of ways in which historical cultural hegemonies impose particular discursive formations, constructed practices and mind-programming in a non-Anglo-Saxon socio-cultural context. Dramaturgical power arrangement, lucid role substitution and the notion of leadership as non-human emerge as dominant themes in the analysis. Also, featuring significantly are representations of leadership in symbols, mythology and as transcendental and metaphysical. These conceptualisations are different from predominant Anglo-Saxon writings that frequently present leadership as linear hierarchies, dyadic (leader-follower) relationship, acts and behaviours of heroic figures and as an essentially human action. An Afro-centric indigenous concept of leadership reflecting the context is proposed which challenges heroism, linearity, individualism and objectivism.

Abstract:
Total productivity as the basis for measuring economic efficiency is the initial presumption of this paper, and it is derived from the fact that it has a multiple importance of growing productivity, as an expression of production efficiency. The complex phenomenon of total productivity of factors is sometimes approached too simplistically, and even incorrectly. Productivity is treated as an isolated phenomenon, regardless of the numerous and various factors that condition it and the effects it has on other economic categories. The basis of the theoretical-methodological approach proposed in this paper, was the transcendental logarithmic production function (translog), as a clear interdependence between the maximum output vector and the production factor vector. The paper discusses the methodological basis for decomposition of total productivity growth on technical progress and technological efficiency, and a specification of the deterministic marginal production function. Adequate decomposition enables the more precise identification of the causes of lags in productivity growth. The results of the empirical analysis, through appropriate categorisation, are useful in conducting economic policy because they indicate the direction of activities with the aim of increasing total productivity.
