Abstract:
This study analyzes the agenda-setting done by anchors using topical management in the interactional aspect of the institutional speech event; the Political News Interview (henceforth Political talk-show). In the current scenario of 24/7 news, audiences turn to political talk-shows to understand the events of the day and judge the news. The discussion on topics in the political talk-shows is managed and developed by the anchor. This study carries out a discourse analysis of the recorded talk-shows for topical shifts and perspectival shifts to check if the topic is set and controlled by the anchor, by not allowing participants to bring any information to the discussion. The qualitative analysis of topical shifts reveals that the anchor keeps tight control over the topic set in the openings and using the technique of topical management the anchor keeps the agenda set through the development of perspectives and recycling of topics.

Abstract:
Conferences with contributed talks grouped into multiple concurrent sessions pose an interesting scheduling problem. From an attendee’s perspective, choosing which talks to visit when there are many concurrent sessions is challenging since an individual may be interested in topics that are discussed in different sessions simultaneously. The frequency of topically similar talks in different concurrent sessions is, in fact, a common cause for complaint in post-conference surveys. Here, we introduce a practical solution to the conference scheduling problem by heuristic optimization of an objective function that weighs the occurrence of both topically similar talks in one session and topically different talks in concurrent sessions. Rather than clustering talks based on a limited number of preconceived topics, we employ a topic model to allow the topics to naturally emerge from the corpus of contributed talk titles and abstracts. We then measure the topical distance between all pairs of talks. Heuristic optimization of preliminary schedules seeks to balance the topical similarity of talks within a session and the dissimilarity between concurrent sessions. Using an ecology conference as a test case, we find that stochastic optimization dramatically improves the objective function relative to the schedule manually produced by the program committee. Approximate Integer Linear Programming can be used to provide a partially-optimized starting schedule, but the final value of the discrimination ratio (an objective function used to estimate coherence within a session and disparity between concurrent sessions) is surprisingly insensitive to the starting schedule. Furthermore, we show that, in contrast to the manual process, arbitrary scheduling constraints are straightforward to include. We applied our method to a second biology conference with over 1,000 contributed talks plus scheduling constraints. In a randomized experiment, biologists responded similarly to a machine-optimized schedule and a highly modified schedule produced by domain experts on the conference program committee.

Abstract:
Islamic paternal parenting has socially patterned the man dominant language behavior over woman since childhood. This study explores the dominance distributions of high female and low female status in their informal talk strategy, the actual language use, among the students of The State Islamic Institute of Surakarta in three functional topical units of conversations. The analysis technique was introduced by Sinclair and Coulthard (1975), for which Leech (1983) modifies the speech acts. The data implies that the talk strategy among Muslim females is relatively similar to that of males. The higher female controls and initiates the interaction more while the lower is softer, more polite, more mutually supportive, and more cooperative to whomever she speaks to regardless of the status.Muslim Female; Act; Move; Talk Strategy

Abstract:
This study uses the methodology of conversational analysis to examine a case of ‘troubles talk’ between a group of female survivors of rape:that is, conversation on the discourse topic of ‘troubles’ or problems, and displaying the close interactional distance of intimacy. Rather than dwelling on the sequential and functional framework of ‘troubles talk’, this paper analyses the conversational process of ‘affiliation’ between the interactants as it occurs within the structure of the conversation, and the linguistic and paralinguistic devices utilised successfully in the achievement of ‘affiliation’ in the ‘troubles talk’. Both topical and interactional levels are considered, as they interact in the conversation to achieve successful ‘affiliation’ and ‘affiliation response’. The successful utilisation of linguistic and paralinguistic devices in affiliation affect the consequent self-disclosure which is crucial in overcoming the trauma of the experiences discussed in the ‘troubles talk’. The significance of affiliation to social context, gender, and culture are also considered.

Abstract:
Large-scale quantitative analyses have shown that individuals frequently talk to each other about similar things in different online spaces. Why do these overlapping communities exist? We provide an answer grounded in the analysis of 20 interviews with active participants in clusters of highly related subreddits. Within a broad topical area, there are a diversity of benefits an online community can confer. These include (a) specific information and discussion, (b) socialization with similar others, and (c) attention from the largest possible audience. A single community cannot meet all three needs. Our findings suggest that topical areas within an online community platform tend to become populated by groups of specialized communities with diverse sizes, topical boundaries, and rules. Compared with any single community, such systems of overlapping communities are able to provide a greater range of benefits.

Abstract:
AbstractThe phrase inshallah ‘God willing’ is well known, even to non-Arabic speakers, as a mitigator of any statement regarding the future, or hopes for the future. Here we use the methods of conversation analysis (CA) to examine a less salient but nonetheless pervasive and compelling interactional usage: in topic-transition sequences. We use a corpus of Levantine (predominantly Syrian) Arabic talk-in-interaction to pay detailed attention to the sequential contexts of inshallah and its cognates across a number of exemplars. It emerges that these invocations are used to secure possible sequence and topic closure, and that they may engender reciprocal invocations. Topical talk following invocations or their responses is subsequently shown to be suspended by both parties; this provides for a move to a new topic by either party. Abstract:
This article discusses ‘brainstorm’ interaction in a multimodal perspective. It shows how an innovation workshop facilitator is ‘doing facilitation’ by not only organizing group activities and managing turn-taking, but also drawing each group member out to participate actively and contribute to the group process. Institutional goals are transformed to individual conversational participation. Participants are helped to express their thoughts and engage in a social process of clarifying, developing and refining ideas. In the process the facilitator is socializing the participants into a particular participation framework, letting them collaborate in shaping a local community of practice. The facilitator is separating phases of activities to afford decoupling actions, creating specific local sequential environments for participants to produce particular kinds of talk, thus engaging a group of participants in a social process of collaborative idea development. The article will show how multimodal orientation to a range of semiotic resources (whiteboard, colored cards, speed markers, re-usable adhesive putty, body posture, gestures, gazes, pauses and talk) is used to manage topical talk, elicit talk from a particular person, manage speaker transition, secure progression and shifts, perform shift in participant identity and elicit talk performing particular social actions, explanations and accounts. A process is shaped in which collaboratively produced underspecified ideas are turned into ‘noticings’ in order to create slots for them to be explained and accounted for so that individual cognitive processes are made available for treatment in a social process of idea development, and selection of ideas is prioritized over discussion/rejection.

The objective of this study was to develop Mouthwash formulations. A mouthwash could also be recommended as an antimicrobial, a topical anti-inflammatory agent a topical analgesic, or for caries prevention. Almost all conventional mouth freshners contain alcohol and fluoride, which are toxic (even lethal) if swallowed in large amounts. This is often not the case with natural herbal mouth rinses. Mouth rinse comes into direct contact with mucous membrane and can be absorbed directly into your bloodstream. Natural Plants such as Clove, Peppermint, Ajwain, Green tea, Neem, Tulsi, and Guava Leaf are used in preparation of herbal mouthwash. Mouthwash freshens bad breath, can help reduce plaque and gingivitis, as well as fight tooth decay and prevent cavities. Mouthwash can really help improve your oral health. It can help to freshen your breath, remove plaque and reduce your risk of cavities and gum disease. For help deciding whether to use mouthwash before or after brushing, talk to your dentist.

Abstract:
Rhinitis or nasopharyngitis are the most common manifestations of acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI) in children. Inflammation of the mucous membrane in the nasal cavity develops in more than 70% of ARVI cases, and rhinovirus infection is the most common etiological factor for these conditions. In this article, the authors present a short review of the existing data on the use of combined drugs based on N-acetylcysteine and tuamingheptan in the treatment of acute rhinological pathology in children. The authors present generalized data on the nature of the course of acute rhinitis, as the main manifestation of acute respiratory viral infection in children, and modern views on the tactics of treating this condition. The main theses on symptomatic treatment of nasal obstruction in acute rhinitis using nasal decongestants are presented. However, the use of nasal vasoconstrictor drugs as monotherapy to treat acute rhinitis may be less effective, as a buildup of thick discharge in the nasal cavity, which a patient is not always able to blow out from the nose (especially in childhood), prevents the drug injected into the nasal cavity from contacting the mucous membrane. The main pathogenetic grounds for the use of mucolytics in the treatment of acute rhinitis and acute rhinosinusitis are presented. The use of N-acetylcysteine-based drugs in otorhinolaryngological practice has been substantiated. N-acetylcysteine is a direct mucolytic agent. Its action is associated with the ability of its free sulfhydryl groups to break intra- and intermolecular disulfide bonds of acidic mucopolysaccharides of a thick discharge. As conclusions, the authors talk about the prospect of using combined drugs based on N-acetylcysteine and tuamingheptan both in the symptomatic treatment of acute rhinitis and as an adjunct treatment for acute rhinosinusitis in children.

Abstract:
603 Background: Oral mucositis is a common toxicity associated with cytotoxic chemotherapy used for cancer treatment and results in severe discomfort and impairs patients' ability to eat, swallow, and talk. The treatment of chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis is not well established. The cyclooxygenase pathway mediates tissue injury and pain through upregulation of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins. Recent study showed that one of the Japanese traditional medicines (kampo), hangeshashinto (TI-14), may be useful for periodontal disease via downregulation of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins in human. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of TJ-14 on chemotherapy- induced oral mucositis. Methods: Fourteen patients with chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis during mFOLFOX6 or FOLFIRI treatment for requiring to the metastasis of advanced colorectal cancer were received topical application of TJ-14. Topical TJ-14 was applied to the oral mucositis three times a day. Patients were asked to make 50 mL of TJ-14 solution (2.5 g) with a tap water and were advised to rinse the TJ-14 solution on the oral mucosa for 10 seconds and then to spill it. Additionally, TJ-14 was topically applied with a cotton pellet on the oral mucositis. The above treatment was advised throughout the course of chemotherapy. Patients were evaluated for the oral mucositis using the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) version 4 before and after 2-weeks TJ-14 treatment. Results: Thirteen of the fourteen patients (92.8 %) responded to the TJ-14 therapy. There was significant reduction in the grade 3/4 mucositis from 3.2 to 1.8 (p=0.02) as well as in the grade 1/2 mucositis from 1.6 to 0.6 (p=0.034). There is no patient showed worse than before. The compliance of TJ-14-treatment was good. Conclusions: Topical application of TJ-14 may have therapeutic effects on chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis via downregulation of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins. No significant financial relationships to disclose.

Abstract:
Greek tragedy was created under a unique and very unusual set of circumstances. What we today call Greek tragedy was not really ‘Greek’ but specifically Athenian. It articulated Athenian values, celebrated Athenian institutions, debated Athenian problems. Despite the undisputed artistic achievements of the great tragedians, the primary motives behind the creation and production of classical Greek tragedy were not artistic or literary, but social and political. Greek tragedies were contemporary and topical civic spectacles, and a central component of Athenian civic life and political discourse. Aristotle identified this ‘political’ aspect of classic Greek tragedy as its distinguishing feature by noting that ‘the earlier poets [Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides] made their characters talk “politically” [politikos], the present-day poets rhetorically’.

This paper aims to give some hints about such issue and its legal framework. There are different elements to be considered: contract requirements, weaker party protection, sharing economy and some issue about the so-called “zero price economy”. In short, the paper summarises some profiles of legal relevance of such topical and wide subject. Pathological discharge from the genital tract and other signs of discomfort of the external genitalia are a common cause of a visit to the gynecologist. The cause of these disorders in most cases is vulvovaginal infection, accompanied (vaginitis) or not accompanied (vaginosis) by leukocyte reaction. Methods for treating vulvovaginal infection are predominantly local therapy or systemic agents with highly selective antimicrobial activity. Since a significant part of the vaginitis is of mixed polymicrobial origin, treatment should be complex, which determines the possibility of prescribing topical medicines containing several components of a wide spectrum of action. At the same time, the complexity of diagnosis and the time spent on it allow one to talk about the advisability of empirical therapy of vulvovaginitis, accompanied by severe clinical symptoms.

Abstract:
Vague language (VL, e.g. kind of), an integral part of language, has been attracting increased attention in linguistic studies. VL is a versatile tool of communication in presenting the world in an imprecise but powerful manner. This study explores an overlooked issue: the relationship between the sensitivity of topics and the use of VL, particularly between topical sensitivity and the form and function of VL items. The corpus consists of semi-controlled spoken interactions between Western Australian tertiary students who were asked to converse on two topics: asylum seekers (touchy) and weekend activities (less touchy). The findings reveal the impact of sensitivity, manifested by different VL frequencies (macro level) and forms (micro level) used in the different topics. More VL, and particular forms of VL (e.g. I think, some, or something), were used in the asylum seeker discourse. As the level of topical sensitivity increases, the level of vagueness in talk-in-interactions also increases: that is, the level of sensitivity, VL frequency, and specific VL items are positively related. Showing how participants use VL in responding to different degrees of sensitivity, this study enriches the scarce literature by providing fresh insights and new resources in this important research area. It is expected that the impact of touchy topics may be applicable to other areas of linguistic studies.

This study examines interactional sequences in which students make assertions about topic-relevant matters in classroom interactions. Using a Conversation Analytical approach, I show how the students’ knowledge claims lead to negotiations of sequential and epistemic rights to make such claims. Through these negotiations, the students upgrade their epistemic stance by repeating or backing their claims with accounts and providing evidence of them. The teachers’ acceptance or rejection of the students’ initiatives displays an orientation to the sequential and topical relevance of the information provided by the students. This study contributes to a better understanding of student initiatives in the classroom, a topic that until now has received scarce attention. Additionally, it contributes knowledge about the negotiation of epistemic authority in relation to assertions and their responses, which may have more general implications for the study of talk-in-interaction.

This case study examines the functions of the text mode in a predominantly voice-only SCMC tutoring session. Using conversation analysis with attention paid to the sequential and holistic unfolding of both text and voice turns, the authors found that the bimodal text-and-voice mode was employed in repair, Initiation-Response-Feedback, assessment, and topical talk sequences. Within these sequences, text turns often reinforced voice turns to focus on language forms but also sometimes contributed to rapport-building and emotional emphasis in the voice turns. In addition to supporting voice turns, text turns also performed distinct actions that worked together with the actions in the voice turns such as initiating repair, presenting language examples as objects for consideration, achieving humor, and signaling discourse structure. The findings shed light on the interactional processes in bimodal SCMC for second language teaching and learning.

Abstract:
In 2014 the term propaganda came back into turn of speech of political talk-shows losing its negative connotations which had been supported by journalistic discourse in the second half of the 20th century. Talk-shows were filled up with sharp contents, live discussion transgressing the course prescribed by the script, foreign challenges forced to bring up some questions of domestic policy which had been avoided on TV till yesterday. The rigid binding of polemic programs to the news agenda allows to create on TV an intertext based on indwelling mental forms. Their visual filling and daily updating is assigned to news program. Discussion makes them abstract and verbally rationalized, allowing thought to develop, but the binding to news forces it to return to a topical event and serves as the polemic limiter in the hands of the anchor. The news transformed as well. Not only Sunday, but also weekday programs Vremya and Vesti in 2014 turned into analytical programs presenting news penetrated by figurativeness. Their broadcasters and reporters tend to metaphoric speech, the editing together of film shots and thematic blocks aims to provide a highly organized sensual image, expressive montage pervades the entire structure including composition. The news form exploded from within by the power of its content which dictated it to continue against the archaic half hourly time limit. The issues are often taken from the global screen context. Not only an extract from press but foreign TV news may be quoted in long original sequences combining shots with speech and then debated verbally and negated by the whole montage system of the program. Talk shows revealed the difference of ideologies and the ability of their protagonists to come to some sort of ideological consensus, dictated by political notions. Tied with the news agenda, they come as a component of propaganda. The basis of propaganda is repetition. The ideas expressed by the leadership of the country in live transmission get repeated again in record, reduced to a variable extent in newscasts the same day, next day, in Sunday news and analytical programs. Talk show hides the growing frequency of occurrence of these ideas in polemic disguise.

According to the meeting program (an 8.5 × 11 inch book not quite 1.5 inches thick), 340 invited and 3,420 contributed abstracts were scheduled into 392 sessions. A gargantuan event to say the least. Meeting rooms were full to over-flowing for many sessions with the hottest, most pervasive topic of the week being high temperature superconductors.Formed just three years ago, the Materials Physics Topical Group (MPTG) of the American Physical Society is thriving. At the meeting, the MPTG fielded 15 topically focused symposia comprising about 50 sessions ranging from quasicrystals to high temperature superconductors. Both invited and contributed sessions were included (the latter often featuring an invited lead-off talk). The sessions were developed through the efforts of symposium organizers in a manner not dissimilar to the way MRS symposia are run. Although there is overlap between MPTG programs and some areas treated by the APS's Condensed Matter Physics Division (CMP), this style of symposium organization is unique to MPTG.

Abstract:
Modern digital technologies create new living conditions, but they themselves depend on the socio-cultural context of their development and use. In this regard, it seems important and necessary to talk about socio-cultural engineering (SCI) - the systematization of knowledge, practices of development, examination and implementation of projects related to the transformation of social reality and the socialization of the individual. SCI is able to create a new situation as a framework for integration, convergence and comprehension of these plans. In this case, digitalization can not only generate problems, but can also provide a platform for solving these problems. The topical task is the systematization of the study, interpretation and positioning of the interdisciplinary complex of SCI. The solution of this task includes substantiation of the methodology and positioning of interdisciplinary studies, as well as the substantiation of the methodology and the institutionalization of a complex humanitarian expertise.

The purpose of this study is to identify the dependence of the impact of the pandemic on changes in the regulation of labor relations in the educational sector. At present, serious changes have taken place not only in our country, but also in the world community as a whole. This is primarily due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, which has affected all areas of society. The educational process is no exception. The coronavirus pandemic has triggered a transformation of the educational process, at all levels. In the past year, this term has become one of the most widely used terms to describe the current state of the world that affects areas of society. The consequences of the pandemic are felt everywhere, it is a real phenomenon. Today, we can talk about the impact of the pandemic on economic, political, cultural, and international relations, which extends beyond any traditional borders. Changes in these areas are common to all states. Understanding the nature and direction of this phenomenon can help to form new principles of interaction between individual segments of society, as well as between community and the state.

Physics architecture. Part two. The talk is devoted to the jubilee of academician M.A. Markov, who was born in 1908. Now we have also the 100th anniversary of the gauge invariance principle proposed by Weyl in 1918. During the period from 1967 to 1988 M.A. Markov was Academician Secretary of Nuclear Physics Department of AN USSR. He organized the series of conferences dedicated to the topical problems of theoretical, nuclear and elementary particle physics. One of them was international seminar “Vector mesons and electromagnetic interactions” under A.M. Baldin direct leadership. It went off in JINR in September of 1969. This very that seminar gave birth to the conferences series named “Baldin autumn”. Thanks to the discussions at the A.M. Baldin seminar many critical situations in theoretical and experimental physics were subsequently settled. The first plenary session of the seminar included L.D. Faddeev talk about gauge field quantization, which cleared the way to develop the renormalized quantum gauge field theory. My talk was dedicated to the transformation of the classical gauge field theory into geometrical one. As a result the unified geometrical theory was obtained, which could include any interactions together with Einsteinian gravity. In this connection both formulations of Weyl’s local gauge invariance principle (of 1918 and 1929) as well as Einsteinian principle of general relativity were used. This approach was based on the fibre bundle geometry, which was developed by mathematicians at that time. This theory gives a realizable classification of interactions according to the local Lie’s symmetry groups associated with them. This approach leads to the VIth Hilbert’s problem solution. To obtain further development of the gauge field theory, it is necessary to decide the question of the gauge field mass origin. It is the key moment both in quantum and geometrical classical theories of the gauge fields. Therefore it is very important to analyze the experiments, where massive and massless particles are converted in each other (similar Baldin experiments in JINR in 1967).

The study of the concept "Universe" is a topical issue of our time. The universe is a very interesting and mysterious object for mankind. There is no doubt that it is multifaceted, has its own laws and rules that are beyond the control of mankind. In this article, we will talk about the knowledge of the Kyrgyz about the universe, their views on its creation and existence, as well as how they sing about it in their works from time immemorial. For a more detailed study, let's compare and compare Kyrgyz oral works, poetry and fiction. In the course of our research, we find that the ability of the Kyrgyz to cognize the universe and discern its diversity is similar to many discoveries made in science. As a result of the study, we appreciate the ability of the ancient Kyrgyz to know the “universe” - “the world”, and we are aware of the rather large, rich life experience of our people.

The end of the 20th century was quite stormy and left its mark in all fields of human existence. Moreover, it faced the human race with new challenges and trials. One of them is the wholly change in the economic system of society. The Bulgarian economy was also not pass of such changes. They were accompanied by large and painful transformations and turbulence. One of the most affected areas was industrial production. Its restructuring, the emergence and overcoming of various asymmetry continues to this day. At the present time, when we talk about the “new Industrial Revolution”, the digitization of the processes in the economy, when the world switched to Industry 4.0 the problem with the construction of a modern and competitive industrial sector is even more topical. An important part of this sector is the “machine parts production” industry. Over the years it also underwent a number of dips and transformations, but managed to maintain its position and lead role in the Bulgarian industry.

Abstract:
Cubic crystals have been studied in detail ever since the advent of X-ray crystallography 101 years ago when Lawrence Bragg first solved the cubic structure of rocksalt. Despite this long history they still hold a fascination with many topical materials such as C60, PbTe-based thermoelectrics, ZrW2O8-related negative thermal expansion materials and several ice phases, all crystallising into cubic structures. This talk will briefly outline the early heritage of (cubic) crystallography and will then highlight the key role of complexity on the physical properties of many cubic crystals. I define complexity as a local breaking of the overall crystal symmetry, rather than the creation of ever larger unit cells, and therefore accurate understanding cannot be gained through analysis of Bragg diffraction alone. Instead I will describe methods for quantifying this complexity via models refined by reverse Monte Carlo analysis of total scattering (pair distribution function) data and using a range of different examples, some taken from the list given above.

Abstract:
Micro-blogs, such as Twitter, have become important tools to share opinions and information among users. Messages concerning any topic are daily posted. A message posted by a given user reaches all the users that decided to follow her/him. Some users post many messages, because they aim at being recognized as influencers, typically on specific topics. How a user can discover influencers concerned with her/his interest? Micro-blog apps and web sites lack a functionality to recommend users with influencers, on the basis of the content of posted messages. In this paper, we envision such a scenario and we identify the problem that constitutes the basic brick for developing a recommender of (possibly influencer) users: training a classification model by exploiting messages labeled with topical classes, so as this model can be used to classify unlabeled messages, to let the hidden topic they talk about emerge. Specifically, the paper reports the investigation activity we performed to demonstrate the suitability of our idea. To perform the investigation, we developed an investigation framework that exploits various patterns for extracting features from within messages (labeled with topical classes) in conjunction with the mostly-used classifiers for text classification problems. By means of the investigation framework, we were able to perform a large pool of experiments, that allowed us to evaluate all the combinations of feature patterns with classifiers. By means of a cost-benefit function called “Suitability”, that combines accuracy with execution time, we were able to demonstrate that a technique for discovering topics from within messages suitable for the application context is available.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to argue that qualitative researchers have much to learn from conducting methodological analyses of their own talk in relation to research participants in interviews. Yet there are specific difficulties in representing findings from methodological analyses of research interviews. Design/methodology/approach – Although qualitative researchers have for some time followed recommendations to analyze both “how” interview data are generated in addition to “what” is discussed, little has been written about the challenges of representing these sorts of analyses. The paper uses a case to first examine difficulties in the representation of an analysis of interview data that draws on discursive psychology. After discussing the case, the paper further explores the challenges of conducting and presenting these sorts of methodological analyses of interview data to research participants and readers in ways that clearly convey what might be learned by examining how interviews are accomplished. Findings – The paper outlines considerations for researchers in doing methodological analyses of interview data, including challenges, reconciling interpretations of “what” and “how” topics are discussed in research studies, and possible areas of focus. Research limitations/implications – This paper examines what researchers might learn from examinations of their own interview practice and does not focus on representations of topical analyses. Practical implications – The paper argues that when interviewers subject their own talk to analysis, they learn about themselves, their craft, and the ways in which knowledge about social worlds are collaboratively produced in research encounters with participants. Originality/value – By developing expertise in how to analyze their interview interaction methodologically, qualitative researchers can attend to significant features of their interview practice and in so doing, develop a reflexive research practice.

Abstract:
The role of tyrosine phosphorylation was investigated using protein tyrosine phosphatase inhibitors in newborn pigs equipped with a cranial window in vivo. We tested the hypothesis that cyclooxygenase and nitric oxide (NO) synthase are physiological targets for tyrosine phosphorylation in cerebral circulation. Phenylarsine oxide dilated pial arterioles and increased prostacyclin and prostaglandin E2 in cortical periarachnoid fluid; these responses were inhibited by indomethacin. N ω-nitro-l-arginine methyl ester (l-NAME) and N ω-nitro-l-arginine (l-NNA) inhibited the vasodilation to phenylarsine oxide; the effects of NO synthase inhibitors and indomethacin were additive. Cyclooxygenase-mediated vascular responses were assessed using topical application of arachidonic acid. Phenylarsine oxide and sodium orthovanadata potentiated vasodilation and prostanoid synthesis in response to arachidonic acid. N ω-nitro-l-arginine methyl ester and N ω-nitrol-arginine did not affect vasodilation or prostanoid production in response to arachidonic acid, indicating no cross talk between cyclooxygenase and NO synthase. These data indicate that cyclooxygenase and NO synthase are physiological targets for tyrosine phosphorylation in the cerebral circulation of newborn pigs.

Abstract:
Abstract. This paper focuses on the ways Dutch speakers use pronouns in order to refer to the topic entity of wh-questions. It appears that, when they have the choice between a third-person pronoun or a demonstrative pronoun, they prefer the latter; however, in the answers given to wh-questions, the same discourse entity is normally referred to by means of a third-person pronoun. This phenomenon is usually accounted for by the recency principle, which predicts that a speaker accomplishes topical continuity by using a third-person pronoun. However, even when a discourse entity was already thematic over a long stretch of talk, speakers normally refer to it by means of a demontrative pronoun if it is the topic of a wh-question. Therefore, it is argued that the sequential function of the utterance as a whole may govern the selection of the coding devices through which reference is made to discourse entitites. This hypothesis would explain why the topic entity of a reported wh-question is usually referred to by means of a third-person pronoun.

The well-known method of spatial conductometry is widely used for hydrodynamical investigations in the frame of validation benchmarks. The aim of the work was to develop the method of representativeness substantiation for use of the conductometric sensors in single-phase applications. The paper presents aspects of wire-mesh sensors (WMS) applications in non-uniform conductivity fields. The equivalent electrical circuits for the measurement cell and WMS are proposed and investigated. The methods of translation from measured conductance to conductivity of the water are discussed. Decomposition of the uncertainty sources and their propagation through measurements are investigated. To obtain the «cross-talk» effect of the measurements the fi model of WMS fl domain was created. The results of calculations showed the dependence of the measurement results on the conductivity contrast in the cells as well as on the size of the contrast domain. The proposed method of the measurement uncertainty estimate was applied to the real WMS and it’s measurement system. The obtained results are topical for validation tests with the use of tracer methods and WMS.

Abstract:
Abstract‘Topic’ is a construct of great practical importance in the fields of language teaching and assessment. Topic organisation featured prominently as an object of early Conversation Analysis (CA) research (for example in Sacks’s (1992) lectures) but has fallen from the research agenda and become the Cinderella construct in discourse studies in recent years. This article considers two institutional settings in which ‘topic’ is foregrounded and becomes a prominent interactional organisation which drives the institutional business, namely language assessment and language teaching. The argument is that much remains to be discovered about how topic becomes adapted to institutional goals. In these specific settings, topic has developed a ‘dual personality’ in service to the institutional goals; ‘topic-as-script’ is the homogenised topic which examiners give to candidates and teachers give to learners, whereas ‘topic-as-action’ refers to the ways in which candidates and learners talk a topic into being. The movement from ‘topic’ as a single homogeneous script to a heterogeneous series of responses by different learners/candidates (topic-as-action) is the main focus of interest in this study. In both teaching and assessment settings, this transformation of ‘topic’ provides a basis for the analysis and evaluation of learner/candidate performance. Sacks (1992: 541) argues, in relation to ordinary conversation, that topical organisation is an “accessory” to turn-taking and sequence. By contrast, topic is, in the language classroom and language testing settings examined, employed in multiple ways on multiple levels as an organising principle for the interaction; topic is both a vehicle and a focus of the interaction. It is suggested that research into institutional talk should investigate more closely how topic becomes adapted to the institutional goal.

Abstract:
Scabies is an invasive skin condition caused by Sarcoptes scabiei mites. The present study investigates the antiscabies potential of coconut seed extract (CSE) in rabbits. GC-MS analysis of the seed oil identified 17 known compounds, while CSE phytochemical investigation afforded 4 known ones. The topical application of seed extract improved all signs of infection, and the improvement started 3 days post application. However, in vitro application of the extract caused 99% mortality of mites 1 day post application. Histopathological examination revealed the absence of inflammatory infiltration and hyperkeratosis of the epidermis, compared with ivermectin-treated groups which revealed less improvement. The mRNA gene expression results revealed a suppression of IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10, MMP-9, VEGF, and MCP-1, and an upregulation of I-CAM-1, KGF as well as TIMP-1. The docking analysis emphasized a strong binding of gondoic acid with IL-1β, IL-6, and VEGF with high binding scores of −5.817, −5.291, and −8.362 kcal/mol, respectively, and a high binding affinity of 3″(1‴-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl)-sucrose with GST with −7.24 kcal/mol. Accordingly, and for the first time, our results highlighted the scabicidal potential of coconut seed extract, which opens the gate for an efficient, cost-effective as well as herbal-based alternative for the control of scabies in rabbits.

Abstract:
Thyroid hormone (TH) is an important regulator of growth, development, and metabolism. Most of the active TH T3 is generated by peripheral TH metabolism mediated by the iodothyronine deiodinases. Type 3 deiodinase (D3) inactivates T3 via specific deiodination reactions. It is an oncofetal protein frequently expressed in neoplastic tissues and is a direct target of the sonic hedgehog (Shh) pathway in basal cell carcinomas (BCCs). However, the molecular mechanisms triggered by T3 in BCC are still mostly unrevealed. Here, we demonstrate that D3 action is critical in the proliferation and survival of BCC cells. D3 depletion or T3 treatment induce apoptosis of BCC cells and attenuate Shh signaling. This is achieved through a direct impairment of Gli2 protein stability by T3. T3 induces protein kinase A, which in turn destabilizes Gli2 protein via its C-terminal degron. Finally, in a mouse model of BCC, T3-topical treatment significantly reduces tumor growth. These results demonstrate the existence of a previously unrecognized cross talk between TH and Gli2 oncogene, providing functional and mechanistic evidence of the involvement of TH metabolism in Shh-induced cancer. TH-mediated Gli2 inactivation would be beneficial for therapeutically purposes, because the inhibition of Shh-Gli2 signaling is an attractive target for several anticancer drugs, currently in clinical trials.

Abstract:
Vaccine hesitancy has been a growing public health issue, but during COVID-19, understanding vaccine hesitancy and promote vaccine favorability takes on a troubling immediacy. With the growing political polarization on scientific issues, the COVID-19 vaccine-related sentiment has recently been divided across ideological lines. This study aims to understand how vaccine favorability and specific vaccine-related concerns including possible side effects, distrust in medical professionals, and conspiratorial beliefs concerning COVID-19 vaccines were articulated and transmitted by Twitter users from opposing ideological camps and with different follower scopes. Using a combination of computational approaches, including supervised machine-learning and structural topic modeling, we examined tweets surrounding COVID-19 vaccination ( N = 16,959) from 1 March to 30 June 2020. Results from linear mixed-effects models suggested that Twitter users high on conservative ideology and with a standard instead of large follower scope tend to express less favorable vaccine-related sentiments and talk more about vaccine side effects, distrust of medical professionals, and conspiracy theories. There is also an interaction effect where liberals with large follower scope expressed the least amount of distrust of medical professionals, whereas extreme conservatives expressed greater distrust for health professionals, regardless of their follower scope. Finally, structural topic modeling revealed distinct topical focuses among liberal and conservative users. Theoretical and practical implications for leveraging social media in effective health communication practice were discussed.

Abstract:
The present study examines the work of a group of medical scientists as they identify interpretative ‘pitfalls’ – recurrent sources of error – in the use of a new radiographic technique, formulate suggestions on how these pitfalls can be avoided and communicate their findings in the form of a scientific publication. The analysis focuses on a session in which previously diagnosed cases are discussed, and demonstrates the ways in which a certain source of diagnostic error gradually emerges as a taken-for-granted in the interaction. An increased sense of recognition, recurrence and typicality is discernible in the treatment of the cases. Talk characterized by expansions and elaborations, displays of understanding in the form of reformulations, understanding checks, and so on, leave room for brief typifications and reifications of interpretative difficulties in characteristics of the imaging technique. Topical treatment of perception and interpretation, as well as embodied engagement, become decreasingly salient. It is argued that the abstracted formulations in the published text rely on the case-by-case working up of generality from particularity; from individualized accounts of why ‘I’ interpreted the image in a certain way to proffered generalizations achieved through articulated perceptions of a generalized ‘one’. If these proffers are ratified, a potential ground is established for the consensual formulation of a pitfall. The formulation of novel instructions is consequently made relevant, projecting a re-instructed diagnostic practice.

Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński was not only an “unbreakable Primate”, but above all, a man of dialogue. He was able to meet every person and to talk to them. In his conversations, he listened patiently, he did not impose his opinion and he was mostly trying to seek for common levels of agreement. According to him, the greatest wisdom is to be able to unite, not to divide. The article indicates some sources and forms of this dialogue. It was a supernatural source and a natural one. The first one is a permanent dialogue of the Primate with God, as well as with the Blessed Mother and with saints. Cardinal Wyszyński was a man of deep prayer, and he undeniably took from this source strength for everyday meetings, conversations, and making decisions. The second crucial source was his philosophico-theological education. As a Christian personalist, the Primate took from the achievements of such thinkers as Aristotle, St. Thomas, St. Augustin, as well as J. Maritain, G. Marcel, J. Woroniecki, and W. Korniłowicz. The article discusses some aspects of dialogue with people, taking into account, above all, two social groups: youth, and , and representatives of the communist state power. Presenting Cardinal Wyszyński as a man of dialogue seems to be very useful and topical nowadays because of different controversies and disputes occurring in our state, in our Church and in relationships between the older and the younger generation.

Abstract:
Real clinical practice is currently characterized by a significant increase in clinical situations, when it is already difficult to talk about the presence of only one disease in a patient, and in most clinical cases the patient has a combined or concomitant pathology.Hemorrhoidal disease has been known since ancient times and remains one of the most common human diseases. In the acute and initial stages of chronic hemorrhoids, conservative treatment is carried out. Its main goal is to relieve pain and inflammation, normalize blood circulation in the rectum. Given the high prevalence of hemorrhoids and the main risk factors for its development, which are simultaneously important in the development of other diseases and pathological conditions, a patient with hemorrhoids should be considered as a comorbid patient. Drug therapy for a comorbid patient always carries the risk of harm to the patient’s health by the drug itself, designed to resist the disease.Homeopathic medicines should be considered as a drug of choice for topical therapy in the management of uncomplicated forms of external haemorrhoids. In the presented review, the effects of the main components (Calendula officinalis, hamamelis virginiana, Aesculus hippocastanum, Mentholum, Zinci oxydum) of the ointment are considered and it is noted that the main medicinal properties of the combined preparation are anti-inflammatory, regenerating, disinfecting, drying effects. In conclusion, 2 clinical examples are given, indicating the effectiveness of the ointment in comorbid patients in acute and early stages of chronic hemorrhoids.

Abstract:
Abstract. The article interprets the modern concept of ideology based on various modernization ideas. It is shown that modern ideas have both a political (often militant), and a spiritual and moral, humanistic orientation. The features of conservatism and neoconservatism are also shown. The opinion that Russia cannot follow the Western path of development has begun to assert itself in the mass consciousness of Russians, as evidenced by the results of sociological surveys. Currently, the "Asian vector" prevails in Russia, suggesting "conservative" ideas and values - order, family, stability, strengthening the role of the state in all spheres of life, etc. Representatives of neoconservatism put forward the idea of freeing the economic sphere from state regulation. Today's ideological discourse concerns topical issues of the socio-cultural development of the country, forms and methods of social transformations, etc. Modern philosophers, sociologists, political scientists talk about the advent of the era of "modern" and "postmodern", but, at the same time, they often rely on classical ideological approaches. Religious ideology is considered in detail. Traditional confessions with great social and cultural authority have formulated holistic conceptual approaches in their new social doctrines, on the basis of which religious organizations can broadcast their ideas, carry out a dialogue on socially significant issues, making every possible use of the constructive part of the spiritual heritage of religions. In today's reality, there is a tendency to involve religious denominations and movements in modern forms of social and political participation.
