Abstract:
Previous studies have suggested that a toddler stunting is closely related to maternal characteristics. Working mothers, as a group, are vulnerable to having a stunted toddler. The present research aimed to analyze factors related to stunting incidence in toddlers with working mothers in Indonesia. The study sampled 44,071 toddlers with working mothers. The final stage used a multinomial logistic regression test. The study found that working mothers living in rural areas have a higher probability of having stunted or severely stunted toddlers. Maternal age partially affects the incidence of stunted toddlers in Indonesia. Mothers in the ≤19 age group are 1.461 (95% CI 1.140–1.872) times more likely than those in the ≥45 group to have a severely stunted toddler. Those who were never married were 1.433 (95% CI 1.006–2.043) times more likely than those who were divorced/widowed to have a severely stunted toddler. A married mother was 0.734 (95% CI 0.617–0.872) times less likely to have a severely stunted toddler than a divorced/widowed mother. Better education is protective against working mothers having stunted toddlers. Moreover, the present study found that the toddler’s age determined the incidence of stunted toddlers. This study concluded that there are five variables related to stunting incidence in toddlers with working mothers in Indonesia: residence, age, marital status, education, and toddler age.

Abstract:
Nutritional status in toddlers is one of the indicators used to describe the quality of toddler health. Toddlers’ nutritional status is interpreted based on some indices, namely weight for age, length/height for age, and weight for length/height Z-score. The nutritional status of toddlers is affected by various factors, both maternal and child factors. Anaemia and chronic energy deficiency during pregnancy affect a toddler’s nutrition status. Birth weight, exclusive breastfeeding, and complementary food may result in a toddler’s nutrition status as well. This study aims to compare the mother’s and toddler’s characteristics based on the nutritional status of the toddler. This was an observational analytical cross-sectional study. All data for the analysis of this paper were obtained from observations of the toddlers, interviews with mothers, and recorded data from KIA book. Toddlers’ weight and length/height were measured when the subject came to Posyandu. Questions about exclusive breastfeeding and complementary food were asked of mothers. Information about anaemia and chronic energy deficiency status was obtained from KIA book. This study used chi-square test to finds evidence that, on 88 subjects, there is no difference in anaemia and chronic energy deficiency during pregnancy, birth weight, exclusive breastfeeding, and complementary food among all nutritional status indices.

Abstract:
At the Toddler Posyandu or Posyandu Balita, the health workers and mothers and toddlers are possible to meet, and they may communicate together to monitor toddlers growth and development. This photo essay records our health service communication in monitoring toddler growth and development in the New Normal at Posyandu Hidup Baru Desa Kaong, Kecamatan Upau, South Kalimantan, Indonesia. The activities include counseling, height and weight checking for toddles, and immunization. The visits cannot be done virtually, since we must directly provide examination of nutritional status, immunization, counseling and others monitoring to the mothers and toddlers following the standard protocols, and not all mothers of toddlers have the measuring devices. Since the checking and monitoring have been done during the Covid 19 pandemic, posyandu must apply health protocols when communicating and providing health service to the mothers and toddlers. Thus, all participants presented at the posyandu will not get infected with covid 19, and the toddler growth and development can be monitored regularly.

Abstract:
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of volubility of toddlers with cochlear implants (CIs) and their parental verbal responsiveness (PVR) in comparison with toddlers with typical hearing (TH), and to explore the relationships between toddlers’ volubility and PVR in each group. Methods: 12 pairs of toddlers with CIs and their parents and 14 pairs of toddlers with TH and their parents participated in this study. This study utilized the Face to Face/Still Face paradigm to examine for the differences of the toddlers’ volubility and PVR between the two groups. Results: Toddlers with CIs produced less vocalizations than toddlers with TH. However, there was not a significant difference in the vocalization time per minute between the two groups. Parents of toddlers with CIs used less verbal responsiveness, which was positively associated with toddlers’ language development, than parents of toddlers with TH. In the CI group, the frequency of the PVR to toddler’s focus of attention was significantly correlated with the frequency and time of toddlers’ vocalization. Conclusion: Toddlers with CIs showed lower levels of volubility than toddlers with TH during the mother-toddler interaction. Parents of toddlers with CIs responded less frequently to their toddler’s communicative intentions and behaviors than did parents of toddlers with TH. These findings suggest that speech-language pathologists should educate the parents of toddlers with CIs to promote high-quality parental responsiveness.

Abstract:
Most parents use push walkers to encourage toddlers in gross and fine motor stimulation to develop basic walking skills. Push walkers are a choice for parents other than baby walkers to help toddlers under one year learn to walk. The push walker options for toddlers include static (the shaft moves in place) and dynamic (moving mobile). This study aimed to compare the effect of push walkers between static and dynamic types on motor stimulation of toddlers using biomechanics by measuring hand grip strength and body balance. This research contributes to selecting a push walker for parents to support gross and fine motor development after agreeing on the consideration of the toddler expert panel for the toddler walking task simulation using a push walker involving nine toddlers according to body mass index. Simulation of toddler walking in two experimental sessions using static and dynamic push walkers in measuring hand grip strength using force-sensing resistors and body balance using the Kinect system with Vitruvius software. The grip strength value was tested by paired t-test to determine the significance of the grip strength value. Body balance values were tested by paired t-test to determine the significance of leg compression force and leg moment. Dynamic push walker has a greater value of grip strength than static, and p-value = 0.001 (< 0.005), providing good motor stimulation to toddlers when pushing with more muscular grip strength, allowing the toddler's hand muscles to tighten up. Static push walkers have a greater compression force and foot moment than dynamic and p-value = 0.001 (< 0.005), providing gross motoric stimulation to toddlers while walking in a balanced and stable manner, allowing the toddler's leg muscles to tighten up.

AbstractObjectiveTo identify home environment factors associated with toddler dietary behaviours using ecological momentary assessment (EMA).DesignHome environment and toddler’s diet were assessed by mothers through EMA (random beeps over ≤8 d and a brief survey). Dietary outcomes were fruit/vegetable consumption, eating episode (‘snack’ v. ‘meal’) and sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption. Home environment factors included interacting with mother, eating alone/with others, eating in a high chair/chair at the table, watching television and movement/translocation. Multilevel logistic mixed-effects regression models assessed both within- (individual toddlers across time) and between- (toddlers-on-average) subject effects.SubjectsLow-income mother–toddler dyads (n 277).SettingUrban and suburban Maryland, USA.ResultsEMA captured eating/drinking episodes for 249/277 (89·9 %) toddlers (883 eating episodes, 1586 drinking episodes). Toddlers-on-average were more likely (adjusted OR, P value) to eat fruit/vegetables when not moving around (0·43, P=0·043), eat with the television off (0·33, P<0·001) and eat in a high chair/chair (3·38, P<0·001); no within-subject effects were shown. For eating episodes, both toddlers-on-average and individual toddlers were more likely to eat snacks when not in a high chair/chair (0·13, P<0·001 and 0·06, P<0·001, respectively) and when eating alone (0·30, P<0·001 and 0·31, P<0·001, respectively). Also, individual toddlers were more likely to eat snacks when moving around (3·61, P<0·001). Toddlers-on-average were more likely to consume SSB when not in a high chair/chair (0·21, P=0·001), eating alone (0·38, P=0·047) or during a snacking episode (v. a meal: 3·96, P=0·012); no within-subject effects shown.ConclusionsFactors in the home environment are associated with dietary behaviours among toddlers. Understanding the interplay between the home environment and toddler diet can inform future paediatric dietary recommendations.

Abstract:
The toddler period is the period after birth up to the age of 59 months. During this period, the immune system in the toddler's body is not yet working optimally, so during this period the toddler is more vulnerable to attacks from various diseases. When a toddler is sick, it is not uncommon for parents to feel confused about what to do or misinterpret the symptoms experienced by the toddler. In conditions like this, the role of a doctor is very necessary. However, in reality, not all parents want to see a doctor, because of the high cost of treatment. Therefore, we need an expert system for diagnosing toddler diseases using the Certainty Factor method to support parents' ease in identifying symptoms and illnesses suffered by toddlers as early as possible. This study used 12 data on toddler illnesses with 51 symptoms. The results of this research show that from the 15 cases that were tested, the precession value was 86.66% and the recall value was 100%. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that this system can be used by users to diagnose illnesses in toddlers. With this system, it is hoped that parents can determine the type of disease experienced by toddlers quickly, precisely, and efficiently.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTThe nutritional problem has happened in Indonesia. One of them is toddler malnutrition. Children who are malnourished have a low immune system. Thus it is susceptible to infectious diseases. Factors that can prevent nutritional problems in toddlers include the age of weaning and the toddler's immune system. Breastfeeding until the two-years-old, weaning, and body resistance will also affect the toddler's nutritional status. The research aimed to identify the risk factors of disease history on toddler stunting's nutritional status in Pidie Jaya District. The research's implementation was descriptive-analytic with a cross-sectional research design with a sample size of 34 people—data on weaning patterns and disease history obtained through interviews with questionnaires. Anthropometry measurements obtained the nutritional status data of toddlers. Analysis used chi-square test. Based on the results, most of the 14.7% of toddlers had a history of fever, 52.95% of unwilling toddlers. Toddlers with well nutritional status with weight-for-age index 64.7%, skinny nutritional status with weight-for-height index 55.9%, short nutritional status with height-for-age 52.9%, and regular dietary status with BMI-for age index 73.5%. Conclusion there was an influence of children's history disease in the last three months on nutritional status in the index height-for-age P-value = <0.015 (<0.05) with OR 6.0, but there was no influence of sick history on nutritional status with index weight-for-age, weight-for-age and BMI-for-age (P-value >0.05). It was important for the mother to implement a healthy lifestyle, environmental hygiene, and hygiene of the food history to become better.

Abstract:
Education on providing local food-based snacks can help prevent stunting rates from increasing. Stunting occurs when toddlers do not get enough nutrition so that it affects the child's growth. This activity aims to educate parents about the importance of nutritional intake for toddlers through local food-based snacks. The target of this activity is 20 mothers and toddlers in the Mentor Village who are recorded as experiencing stunting. The method used in this activity is Service Learning (SL). The results show that: 1) Parents already have knowledge about nutritional composition and menu variations, 2) Parents know the type and amount of food that is appropriate for the age of the toddler, 3) Parents understand how to process food so that the nutrients can be absorbed by the toddler's body, 4) Parents know the child's diet and the importance of regular meal times, 5) Parents realize the importance of supervising and accompanying food intake to ensure that toddlers get adequate nutrition.

AbstractInfant-parent psychotherapy in the second year of life presents specific challenges related to the child's developmental characteristics. The concept of projective identification is discussed as a mechanism for understanding the toddler's specific contribution to attachment disorders with the parent. A versatile clinical format is recommended including joint parent-child sessions, individual work with the toddler and the parents, and the use of therapeutic modes of communication specifically geared to the toddler's needs (“toddlerese”). Clinical examples and research applications are given to illustrate these points.

Abstract:
The growth and development of children under five (toddlers) affect their health conditions. Each region uniquely identifies the main factors influencing the toddler's health condition. The status of toddlers is generally categorized into two classes, namely normal and abnormal, so it is often found that the condition of toddler status is in the form of multi-response variables. Combining the two binary classes' response variables will form a multiclass response variable requiring different model development techniques and performance measurements. This study aims to determine the main factors that affect toddlers' health conditions in Malang, Indonesia, build multiclass logistic regression and decision tree classification models, and measure the model's performance. The Chi-square test selected predictor features as the input of multiclass logistic regression and decision tree models. From the feature selection, four main factors influence the status of toddlers' health conditions in Malang: the mother's history of diabetes before pregnancy, the father's blood pressure, psychological condition, and drinking water quality. The decision tree model performs better than the logistic regression model on the various performance measures used.

Abstract:
The toddler period is a golden period or golden age. At the age of 0-5 years, the growth and development of the toddler's brain increases rapidly. Growth is related to changes in size, quantity, or size that can be measured in units of weight (grams, kilograms) and units of length (centimeters, meters). What affects toddlers' growth can come from the family and the environment. Abstract:
The present study examined the association between the parent-grandmother relationship, the parenting of toddlers, and toddlers' anger. Parent-grandmother relations were assessed when the parents were adolescents. Parent-toddler relations were examined when the toddlers were two years of age The sample consists of 185 2-yr.-old toddlers, one of the parents of each toddler, and the corresponding grandmother of each toddler. The findings support our hypothesis that there would be an indirect effect of the grandmothers' personalities and child-rearing practices on their grandchildren through the influence of the grandmothers on the parents. The influence of both the grandmothers' and the parents' smoking behaviors on the toddlers' anger was mediated by their child-rearing practices. The significance of the findings from a multigenerational study are discussed with reference to incorporating them into prevention programs. The findings are consistent with the notion of the intergenerational transmission of risk factors—from grandparents to parents to toddlers.

Abstract:
Background: Development is one of the important things for the future of a child. The most crucial development occurs during the first five years of a child's life, this time is often called the golden period. At this time all the development of children must be by their age so that in the future there are no developmental delays. A child's development can be influenced by several factors, both internal and external factors. Based on previous research as many as 5-10% of Indonesian children experience general developmental delays, so the development of Indonesian children still requires serious attention. Therefore, this study aims to analyze factors that affect the development status of toddlers. Method: This study is an observational analytical study using a cross-sectional approach. With a sample number of 100 toddlers in the working area of Simomulyo Health Center that meets the criteria of inclusion and uses consecutive sampling techniques. Independent variables in the study were birth weight, nutritional status of toddlers, parents' last education, economic status, history of disease in toddlers, and history of exclusive breast milk. While the dependent variable in this study is the status of development. The chi-square statistical test is used to determine the significant level of data obtained at the meaningful level of ? =0.05. Results: The results of the study found 90% experienced appropriate developmental status, 86% had normal nutritional status based on BB / U, 45% had normal nutritional status based on TB / U, 64% had normal nutritional status based on BB / TB, 82% of toddler parents had the last high education, 67% of toddlers have economic status ?UMR, 50% of toddlers have a history of pain ?2 times sick and 56% of toddlers get exclusive breast milk ?6 months. From the results of statistical tests chi-square obtained birth weight ? = 0.444 (??0.05), nutritional status based on BB / U ? = 0.578 (??0.05), nutritional status based on TB / U ? = 0.375 (??0.05), nutritional status based on BB / TB ? = 0,706 (??0.05), parental education ?=0.488 (??0.05), economic status ?=0.103 (??0.05), history of childhood disease ?=0.046 (?<0.05), exclusive breast milk history ?=0.002 (?<0.05). It means that there is no relationship between developmental status with birth weight, nutritional status, parents' last education, economic status. However, there is a relationship between developmental status and a history of toddler disease, and a history of exclusive breast milk. Conclusion: A toddler's history of disease and a history of exclusive breast milk have relationships that can affect a toddler's development.

Abstract:
The major focus of the present project was the relation between caregiver behaviour towards toddlers, and caregiver and toddler nutritional intake across two cultures. Kenyan subjects were 110 toddlers, 18-30 months of age and their caregivers; Egyptian subjects were 153 toddlers, 18-30 months of age and their caregivers. Based on monthly observations and maternal report, food intake values were calculated for both mothers and toddlers in both countries. In Kenya, based on bimonthly observations, five measures of caregiver behaviour were collected; based on monthly observations, nine measures of caregiver behaviour were collected in Egypt. Results indicated that in both countries caregiver behaviours toward their toddlers were driven primarily by toddler rather than by maternal intake. However, the specific pattern of relations differed across each culture. Specifically, in Egypt, more adequately nourished toddlers received more appropriate stimulation from caregivers. In Kenya, more adequately nourished toddlers had less physical contact with their caregivers and their caregivers responded verbally to their vocalisations less than they did for poorly nourished toddlers.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Pneumonia is inflammation of the lung which is the main cause of child death in the world, including in Indonesia. Pneumonia may be triggered by host and environmental factors. To date, a few studies have examined the relationship between toddler characteristics, environmental, and demographic factors with the incidence of toddler pneumonia, with inconsistent results. Therefore, we aimed to determine the relationship between the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding, LBW, healthy house, and population density to pneumonia among toddlers in Depok City in 2013-2022. The data such as Incidence of pneumonia, coverage of exclusive breastfeeding, coverage of LBW, coverage of healthy house, and population density were obtained from Depok City Government. The data is secondary data from 2013-2022. The study design used was an ecological study design and the population was all toddlers diagnosed with pneumonia in Depok City. The coverage of pneumonia cases found in toddlers in Depok City has increased in 2022 to reach 55.28%. Our results demonstrated a significant relationship between the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.000, r=-0.497), the coverage of LBW (p=0.011, r=0.242), and the coverage of healthy house (p=0.026, r=0.212). While the population density did not show a significant relationship with the incidence of pneumonia (p=0.099, r=0.158). Exclusive breastfeeding, LBW, healthy house are the underlying relationship for pneumonia among toddlers in Depok City. The results indicate to be an input for planning pneumonia prevention and control programs in Depok City in the future.
