Abstract:
The area of the Classical Karst is roughly defined by a triangle with Ljubljana, Trieste and Rijeka as its vertices. This is the area where the first scientific studies of karst phenomena were conducted. Two sub-regions that particularly attracted researchers are presented. Kras/Carso plateau with the Škocjan caves and the underground course of the Reka river. The groundwater flow of Reka-Timavo is characterised by high recharge variability of allogenic inflow of Reka River and flow restrictions in the upper part of subterranean flow, which control regional backfloodings observed in cave systems. The recharge area of Ljubljanica Springs is known for a cascading series of poljes in intermediate cave systems. The area has been in focus of hydrological studies for over a century, but many phenomena have been resolved in the last decade based on results of continuous autonomous monitoring in the last decade. Key words: Classical Karst, Kras, Škocjanske Jame, Reka-Timavo system, Ljubljanica Recharge Area, Polje. IZVLEČEK Območje Klasičnega krasa v grobem objema trikotnik z Ljubljano, Reko in Trstom v ogliščih.

Full text
Abstract:
The response of coastal systems to global acidification depends strongly on river inputs, which can alter the total alkalinity (AT) and dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) in seawater. The northern Adriatic Sea (NAd) is a shallow continental shelf region that currently receives about 15% of the total freshwater input in the Mediterranean Sea, where the role of riverine discharges on the carbonate system has been poorly studied. In particular, river discharges can alter the carbonate system in the sea, affecting both the equilibrium chemistry and biological processes. For the main rivers flowing into the NAd (the Po, Adige, Brenta, Piave, Livenza, Tagliamento, Isonzo, Timavo and Rižana), data were collected for the pH, concentrations of the total alkalinity (AT), Ca2+ and Mg2+ and the isotopic ratio of stable carbon in the dissolved inorganic carbon (δ13CDIC). The DIC fluxes were estimated using the THINCARB (THermodynamic modeling of INOrganic CARBon) model for the compilation of the AT and pH data. The results show that the total transport of the AT in the rivers was 205 Gmol yr−1 while the transport of the DIC was 213 Gmol yr−1, of which about 70% was from the Po River. About 97% of the DIC in the river waters was in the form of bicarbonates. The high Mg2+/Ca2+ ratios indicate that dolomite weathering is predominant in the Adige, Piave, and Livenza river basins, while lower ratios in the Timavo and Rižana rivers indicate a greater proportion of calcite. The mean δ13C-DIC value was estimated to be −10.0 ± 1.7 ‰, a value nowadays considered typical for the DIC flux inputs in oceanic carbon cycle modeling. The DIC flux depends on the mineral weathering and biological activity in each river basin. However, these natural processes can be modified by anthropogenic disturbances that should be better quantified.

Abstract:
The study of the different hydrogeological compartments is a prerequisite for understanding and monitoring different fluxes, thereby evaluating the environmental changes in an ecosystem where anthropogenic disturbances are present in order to preserve the most vulnerable groundwaters from contamination and degradation. In many karst domains in the Mediterranean, areas groundwaters and surface waters are a single system, as a result of the features that facilitate the ingression of waters from surface to subsurface. This is also the case for the Classical Karst hydrostructure, which is a carbonate plateau that rises above the northern Adriatic Sea, shared between Italy and Slovenia. The main suppliers to the aquifer are the effective precipitations and the waters from three different rivers: Reka/Timavo, Soča/Isonzo and Vipava/Vipacco. Past and ongoing hydrogeological studies on the area have focused on the connections within the Classical Karst Region aquifer system through the analysis of water caves and springs hydrographs and chemographs. In this paper, the authors present new combined data from major ions, oxygen, hydrogen and strontium stable and radiogenic isotopes which have allowed a more complementary knowledge of the groundwater circulation, provenance and water-rock interactions. All the actions occurred in the framework of the European project HYDROKARST.

Abstract:
Interspecific interactions between surface and subterranean species may be a key determinant for species distributions. Until now, the existence of competition (including predation) between these groups has not been tested. To assess the coexistence and potential role of interspecific interactions between surface Gammarus fossarum and subterranean Niphargus timavi, and to determine their micro distributions, we conducted a series of field and laboratory observations. We aimed to determine: (1) species substrate preference, (2) whether the presence of G. fossarum influences the habitat choice of N. timavi, and (3) possible predation effects on micro habitat choice of small juveniles. Throughout a small river in SW Slovenia, N. timavi was predominantly found in leaf litter and gravel, but rarely in sand. In the sand however, we exclusively found juveniles. In contrast, surface G. fossarum sheltered mainly in leaf litter. A similar, body size dependent, micro distribution was observed in G. fossarum, where small individuals were generally found in gravel and sand. The presence of G. fossarum affected the micro distribution of juvenile, but not adult, N. timavi. In the laboratory we observed predation and cannibalism in both species. Niphargus timavi, however, appeared to be a more efficient predator than G. fossarum. In particular, juvenile N. timavi were most vulnerable to preying by adults of both species. This probably affected the distribution of juvenile N. timavi that chose finer substrates when placed with adult individuals in an aquarium with granules of different size. To understand the distribution of subterranean species, the summed effect of intraspecific interactions, as well as surface – subterranean species interactions, in particular between individuals of different size, should be taken into account.

Ottoman historians lost interest in timars a generation ago due to simultaneous intellectual and political crises, namely methodological skepticism and the end of the cold war. The archival methodology used in timar research was subjected to withering critique, and the underlying motivation for the research, land reform in East-Central Europe and Turkey, was dissipated. Renewed scholarly interest in the timar institution is driven by awareness of transnational themes, efforts to theorize complexity, and the value of transparency and self-consciousness in research agendas.

Abstract:
E kérdésben alapvető a Démiurgos alakjának szerepe, illetve a platóni befogadó fogalmának értelmezése. A kérdés vizsgálata során először a platóni szöveg kozmológiai fogalmait (az örök képmás-Démiurgos-befogadó) vizsgálom, majd vázolom, hogyan alakult át a befogadó fogalom a későbbi platóni gyökerű filozófiák anyag , illetve hely terminusaivá. E fogalmi keretben válik érthetővé és vizsgálhatóvá a plótinosi kijelentés. A gnóstikusokkal kapcsolatban annak a bemutatása a legfontosabb, hogy a Plótinos által kárhoztatott dualisztikus kozmológiájuk - ahogyan azt maga Plótinos erősíti meg - a platóni szöveg interpretációs lehetőségein nyugszik. Az Asclepius című hermetikus dialógus jó példája annak, hogyan jelenhet meg később az Isten mellett létező preegzisztens kozmológiai princípium egyszerre, mint anyag és hely , míg a CH VIII. szöveg szerinti párhuzamokat mutat a Timaios szal. Mindemellett természetesen nem zárhatjuk ki más (főképpen keleti) hatások lehetőségét, de a platóni filozófia fogalmainak vizsgálata jelentős szempontokat adhat annak vizsgálatához, hogy milyen hatások játszhattak szerepet a késő ókori dualista kozmológiák kialakulásában.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract Michelangelo based the design of the architectural frame of the Sistine Chapel ceiling on an underdrawing in a watercolor by Piermatteo d’Amelia, but he chose to subdivide it into nine bays. He then depicted the biblical story of Creation in five, rather than six, pictorial fields and made references to the number five in the fresco. This structure was intended to allude to the five Platonic bodies, which are a further development of the four elements and, according to Plato, explain the creation of the world. In the views of Augustine and of Christian Neoplatonists, there are close similarities between the creation story and the creation process as described in Plato’s Timaeus. They believed that Plato had imitated the story of Genesis. The remaining four panels would then symbolize the history of the human race and the classic four elements.

Abstract:
Good watershed management is the rational use of natural resources in the watershed to obtain maximum production in unlimited time, minimize the danger of damage (land degradation), and obtain an even water yield throughout the year. Timang Gajah sub-watershed with an area of 35,859.26 ha is one of the sub-watersheds of the Krueng Peusangan watershed. According to the results of research by Akbar et al. (2020), the Timang Gajah sub-watershed is included in the sub-watershed that needs to be restored. Judging from the critical land area, the Timang Gajah sub-watershed consists of very critical 2,398.47 ha, critical 23,989.87 ha, moderately critical 6,402.59 ha, potentially critical 3,063.97 ha and not essential 4.36 ha (BPDASHL, 2020). This shows that the Timang Gajah sub-watershed needs serious handling in its management. The purpose of this study is to develop a plan for sustainable use of agricultural land in the Timing Gajah sub-watershed that can reduce the rate of erosion (erosion < ETol) a decent income for each farmer (income > KHL). The cropping pattern planned in this study is a cropping pattern that supports food security (Food Estate). The research method that will be used in this research is a survey method which consists: 1) the preparation stage, 2) the preliminary survey stage, 3) the main survey stage and 4) the data analysis stage and the presentation of the results. The results showed that the predictive value of erosion obtained on mixed garden land use (SPL 2, 5, 12, 13 and 18) ranged from 18.70 - 103.81 tons/ha/year, while the ETol value ranged from 14.97 - 33.27 tons/ha/year. The predictive value of erosion on plantation land use (SPL 15) is 56.36 tons/ha/year, and the ETol value is 28.42 tons/ha/year. Meanwhile, the predicted erosion value for scrubland use (SPL 8, 9, 10, 11, 16 and 17) ranged from 23.81 - 73.67 tons/ha/year and ETol values 14.01 - 27.72 tons/year. Ha/year. The recommended intercropping pattern at the research location, especially in mixed garden land use, is potato and corn (A1) plus other businesses (livestock), potato and soybean (A2) intercropping, potato and peanut intercropping. Green (A3), intercropping of potato with chilli (A4) and monoculture potato plus other livestock business (A5) generate net income above decent living income for local farmers (Rp 66.400.000 / household/year).

Abstract:
The Timaru and Claremont soil series occupy >145 000 ha of loess-mantled downlands of the South Island. The soils are mapped in large map delineations and the accompanying soil reports provide very generalised descriptions and definitions of the units. Almost no information is recorded on the nature and causes of soil variability. In this study soil variability is described along transects at 12 locations. The sites selected encompass a range of aspect (sunny and shady), topography (easy rolling to strongly rolling terrain), and land use (non-ploughed, pastoral, and mixed cropping). The definitions of the Timaru and Claremont series are refined and the variability in soil morphology is related to landscape features. Morphological data from the transects are collated into generalised soil–landscape models. Similar arrays of soils occur within the Timaru and Claremont soil–landscape models. The models vary mainly in the occurrence and depth to reducing conditions. The soil–landscape models provide a framework within which to derive soil attribute values for use in predictive models and land-use interpretations, and provide a baseline from which future studies may assess the impacts of land-use practices. In both soil series, the thickness of topsoils, depth to reducing conditions, and depth to fragipans are greatest on footslopes and generally decrease to shoulderslopes. Penetration resistance is lowest on footslopes and increases to shoulderslopes. In cultivated land, footslope sites have markedly over-thickened topsoils. Relocation of topsoil material from upper to lower slopes is attributed mainly to the effects of cultivation, either directly, through mechanical movement of soil material during cultivation operations, or indirectly, through the promotion of soil erosion. Variations in depth of soil materials are expected to have attendant affects on potential productivity.

Abstract:
Two new species of Imparfinis are described from the trans-Andean region of Colombia. Imparfinis timana is diagnosed by having longer anal fin base (12.4-15.5% in SL), in combination with long adipose fin (24.6-31.3% in SL), 5-6 gill rakers on the first ceratobranchial, 42-43 vertebrae and additional measurements. Imparfinis usmai is distinguished by the combination of first ray of dorsal fin longest, but not projected as a long filament, long adipose fin (21.1-27.0% in SL), maxillary barbel exceeding pelvic-fin base, 39-40 vertebrae, upper caudal-fin lobe pointed and longer than lower lobe, lower lobe rounded, 7-8 gill rakers on the first ceratobranchial, as well as additional measurements. Imparfinis timana is only known from río Guarapas, a small tributary of the upper course of the río Magdalena. Imparfinis usmai is broadly distributed in the upper basin of ríos Cauca and Magdalena, and in the lower Patía river basin. The restricted distribution of I. nemacheir to trans-Andean drainages (Atrato, Magdalena, and Lago de Maracaibo) is also discussed.

Abstract:
Rapid social, technological, and informational changes impose on organizations to adapt to modern business concepts. Many organizations resort to team structure as the optimal choice for the effective realization of organizational goals. Teamwork is very important for competition in today's global arena, where the level of collective knowledge and harmony are more desirable than individual performance. In the era of great turbulence in the market and organizational survival, the consideration of teamwork shifts its focus to the study and analysis related to the formation of high-performance work teams, as an upgrade of the previous team structure and functionality. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of individuals, the partial contribution of members within the team environment, how they complement each other, setting clear goals and teaching team members how to function more efficiently, is a whole relevant to effectively building a highly productive team. The purpose of this paper is to, through insight and consultation of current literature of relevant authors, determine the importance of creating highly productive teams as a predictor of business success of an organization.
