Biodiversitas 19: 496-503. Plots 10,000 m2 were established in four sites of Mutis Timau Protected Forest Management Unit (Mutis Timau PFMU), in order to determine tree species density, basal area, importance value index, species richness and to identify the relationship betwen species richness and abundance of trees. A total of 94 species belonging to 72 genera and 45 families were recorded. Species richness and forest structure were different between sites. Moraceae was the dominant tree family at most sites, particulary for Eucalyptus urophylla. The results suggest controlling the number of species, level on species distribution pattern, silvicultural interventions to pioneer species through thinning liberation, seeding and planting (pioneer species) could accelerate the tree regeneration of Mutis Timau PFMU in Kupang District, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia.

Abstract:
Coastal as an open-access resource has the potential to cause conflict with spatial use. This research aims to analyze the conflict in the utilization of coastal resources among fishermen and unconventional tin miners. This research used a survey research method with qualitative descriptive research, including income analysis, employment opportunities, education, and health. Respondents in this research were fishermen and unconventional tin miners in Bangka Tengah district, including Batu Belubang village - Pangkalan Baru sub-district, Kurau village - Koba sub-district, and Baskara Bhakti village - Namang sub-district. Data collection using methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. Conflicts are analyzed through a stakeholder analysis approach with an onion analysis approach. The results showed that there were four main issues triggering conflict: 1) environmental issues; 2) social issues; 3) law violation issues; 4) economic issues. Conflict resolution that is collaborative with a negotiation approach that combines elements of the user community (fishing groups and unconventional miners) and the government known as Co-Management which avoids the excessive dominant role of one party in the management of coastal and marine resources, including equitable division of territory between fishing and mining areas, with reference to coastal and marine spatial regulations in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Indonesia.

Abstract:
The modern identity of the Russians of the Yenisei North is inextricably linked with the old-timers culture of Siberians, which has developed in difficult natural and climatic conditions. The Yenisei area is the territory of the primary settlement of Russians in the Yenisei Siberia. For nearly four centuries, the old-timers of this region have developed unique survival skills and created their own cultural and economic type, adapted to the conditions of the north. Traditions rooted in the Russian North have spread throughout the Yenisei Siberia. They ideally corresponded to the harsh conditions of Eastern Siberia and manifested themselves not only in the methods of farming, the typology of settlements and the types of their development, the architecture of the dwelling, the layout of the estate, some elements of clothing and footwear, but also in the features of the Orthodox culture. Russians adapted to the environment without changing their ethno cultural identity (lifestyle, language, religious beliefs) and, to a large extent, retaining their anthropological type. In the Yenisei area, two types of the old-timer culture of the Kezhmars and peasants of the Yenisei district developed. The first was dominated by the North Russian components, which became archaized due to isolation. However, over the centuries, it also absorbed elements of the local autochthonous culture of the Evenk people, which manifested itself in many features of economic management, material culture. The second, more syncretic, absorbed not only the North Russian components, but also the traditions of other places of origin, for example, the south of Russia, which was especially manifested in the festive culture of the old-timers.

Abstract:
The relevance of this work is due to the lack of linguistic research devoted to the current state of the Bryansk dialects, functioning in the zone, where Russia, Belorussia and Ukraine border. The article considers phonetic, grammatical and lexical-phraseological features of speech of old-timers inhabiting the south-west of the Bryansk region (Novozybkov, villages of the Novozybkovsky urban district and Zlynkovsky district) primarily in comparison with the features noted in the works of the doctor of philological sciences, professor, full member of the Institute of Belarusian Culture (later — the Belarusian Academy of Sciences) Pavel Andreevich Rastorguev (1881–1959). The collective speech portrait of elderly villagers, represented by their idiolects, is made up, on the one hand, of dialectal peculiarities, on the other hand, of phenomena that correspond to the norms of the modern Russian literary language. Particular dialectal speech features are determined by special geographical position of the southwestern regions of the Bryansk region in the past and the territorial proximity of Belarus and Ukraine (Belarusian and Ukrainian languages and dialects). These features constitute the archaic layer of the Bryansk dialects, since in the speech of the young rural population living in the city, people from villages, urban residents, as a rule, these features are manifested to a lesser extent or are completely absent. The speech portrait of the old-timers of the Bryansk-Gomel borderland forms an idea about the modern features of the border East Slavic Russian-Belarusian dialect.

The results showed that the performance of Satpol PP in controlling student discipline was good because Satpol PP always routinely patrols 8 times a month. However, there are several obstacles, such as the minimum budget and inadequate facilities and infrastructure so that the performance of Satpol PP is not optimal. The efforts made by Satpol PP to improve discipline, namely in collaboration with the Education Office and school officials, as well as socializing and providing appeals to cafe owners. Meanwhile, we found variations in changes in student attitudes and behavior.

Peden, Robert L., and n/a. "Pastoralism and the transformation of the rangelands of the South Island of New Zealand 1841 to 1912 : Mt Peel Station, a case study." University of Otago. Department of History, 2007. http://adt.otago.ac.nz./public/adt-NZDU20071204.155512.

Full text
Abstract:
The transformation of the rangelands of the South Island of New Zealand during the pastoral era fits into the wider international context of European expansion into the 'new' world. European settlers displaced native peoples, introduced 'old' world animals and plants, and imposed a capitalist system that converted local resources into international commodities. In New Zealand the orthodox explanation of the pastoral impact on the rangelands claims that pastoralists introduced an unsustainable system of land use to the region. The pastoralists indiscriminate burning practices and overstocking with sheep opened up the country to invasion by rabbits. Burning and overgrazing by sheep and rabbits stripped the natural fertility of the soils and left the country depleted, eroded, and overwhelmed by pests and weeds. This thesis sets out to test those claims. It explores burning, the stocking of the rangelands with sheep and the impact of rabbits in detail. It also examines other land management practices, as well as sheep breeding, to see what impact they had on the landscape. The timeframe is set between 1841, when formal British settlement was established in the South Island, and 1912, by which time most of the great estates and stations had been broken up into smaller runs and farms. The thesis uses station diaries, memoirs, contemporary newspapers and farming journals to assess what happened on the ground during the pastoral era. In particular, the thesis uses Mt Peel Station as a case study to examine the intensification in land use that took place between 1841 and 1912, in order to explain the transformation of the landscape and to answer the questions: what happened, how did it happened and why did it happened as it did? These sources illustrate that the pastoral era was characterised by innovation. Pastoralists had access to technical and scientific information from around the world. Some conducted their own experiments to improve the productivity of the land and their stock. There was also a learning process involved in adapting their methods to fit the local rangeland environments. They were not simply rapacious capitalists out to strip the wealth from the land for their own personal gain; indeed, many pastoralists set out to establish viable and sustainable enterprises. The thesis argues that the rangelands consisted of a variety of landscapes and climates. Differences in resource endowments had a considerable influence in shaping the environmental outcomes on different stations. Aridity and rabbits were two key factors in the depletion of the vegetation and the degradation of the landscape in the rangelands. Runs in semi-arid districts that were overwhelmed by rabbits suffered long-term damage. In districts where rainfall was more reliable stations that had been overrun by rabbits recovered remarkably quickly. Stations like Mt Peel, that were largely unaffected by the first rabbit plague, were able to maintain and even increase their productivity up to the time they were subdivided. The orthodox analysis of the transformation of the rangelands in the pastoral era does not account for these differences in outcomes.

Abstract:

Abstract:
These situations affect the lives of rural communities composed mostly of farmers practicing a family farming, with low agricultural productivity and incomes. The family farming has several functions, namely economic, socio-cultural and environmental functions that may contribute to the socioeconomic development of the district of Bobonaro, known as a great producer of agricultural products. This dissertation aims to characterize the family farming in three areas in the district of Bobonaro, mountain areas, lowlands and coastal areas, identifying elements of differentiation for agriculture within this family farming and between different types of family farms to be included in the formulation and implementation of agricultural policies and rural development. In order to achive these objectives, primary data were collected through a survey questionnaire to farmers in the district of Bobonaro and semi-structured interviews to sucos heads and extensionists. The dissertation concludes that the levels of income and well-being of populations of the three types of land is low, and the farmers located in the lowlands enjoy an income and well-being increased. The technological levels of production, processing and marketing of agricultural products are low with the exception of rice for the lowlands and coastal lands. A part of the family farming, the vegetable garden, use the slash and burn technique for soil preparation before planting which brings environmental damage and loss of forest goods collected, women have a significant participation in the different decision-making and in production activities, regardless their educational levels are significantly lower.

Currently, with the increasing of incentive to use alternative and renewable energy sources, the number of generators connected to the electricity distribution networks has increased. Among them are, for example, wind farms, photovoltaic solar energy systems and cogeneration systems forming the so-called Distributed Generation. In view of this global panorama, it is imminent the need to develop new technologies and computer programs that allow the optimization of the connections of generators in the electrical system. This should be done in such a way that, among other advantages, control strategies are improved and efficiency increased. This work presents the creation of Optimal-GeDist software, developed to assist in the planning of electricity distribution networks in medium voltage. This computational tool calculates optimum power injection of the distributed generation in the network bars, in addition to determining the best connection points of future loads that wish to connect to the system. Because it is a problem, in which search space is large and with the possibility of local minimums, it was decided to use the Genetic Algorithm as an optimization tool, more suitable for this type of problem. Through its application, it is possible to find the optimal point of operation of the network in order to optimize the technical losses of the system. For the simulation of the system, it?s opted for the Power Sum load flow method, developed for medium voltage radial systems and presenting a fast and accurate convergence.

Abstract:
Information about climate change is useful for children to anticipate the potential impacts of climate change. However, until 2016 in Lembata and North Timor Tengah Districts, Indonesia, which is the vulnerable area exposed to the effects of climate change, it was found that children's understanding is still low, even though 98% claim that they can feel some changes in their environment. The result of this research were obtained by collecting data from student from both regions and were proceeded to find climate change awareness index (CAI). It showed that most students (89%) have more knowledge about climate change, and the rest (11%) do not understand. This condition is influenced by facilities and infrastructure factors, access to books and internet, teacher quality, and gender. It is also known that information about climate change in Indonesian textbooks have not reached 50% according to UNICEF recommendations to provide students with good understanding of climate change.

Abstract:
Background: Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency is a district where filariasis is endemic. In 2018, the Microfilaria rate (Mf rate) was 1.33% and is the only district / city in Jambi Province with an Mf rate > 1%, so mass treatment was performed again for 2 years (2017-2018), but cases have still been identified. Novelty in 2019. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the incidence of filariasis in the physical, biological, social and cultural environment and the dominant factors in the incidence of filariasis. Subjects and Method: This was a case control design conducted in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency from March to July 2020. Total of 84 patients with filariasis were enrolled in this study. The dependent variable was the incidence of filariasis while the independent variables were the socio-cultural environment and individual characteristics (age, education, occupation, income, level of knowledge, spending habits of the day, preventive measures, and compliance with prophylactic medication), attitude (physical environment), The data were collected using questionnaire and environmental observation. Data were analyzed using a multiple logistic regression. Results: Most of patients with filariasis were male (61.9%), had low education (73.8%), was a farmer, and 60% had a job at risk of developing filariasis. Age (OR = 0.16 ; 95%CI= 0.06 to 0.41), education (OR = 4.50 ; 95%CI= 1.56 to 12.96), occupation (OR = 4.66, 95% CI = 1.76 to 12.31), adherence to taking prophylactic medication (OR = 4.70, 95% CI = 1.83 to 12.04) were affected on the filariasis incidence. Adherence to taking prophylactic drugs was the most dominant risk factor for filariasis (OR = 12.97; 95% CI = 3.35 to 50.15). Conclusion: Following control for resting place, occupation, age and height of residence, the most dominant factor in the incidence of filariasis is adherence to taking prophylactic drugs.
