Full textTHz imaging is an emerging field since the technological advances in terms of THz radiation emission and detection equipment. The main objective of the thesis is to contribute and to improve THz imaging systems, from image reconstruction and analysis to image classification tasks. In the first part of the thesis, we tackle the amplitude estimation challenge under ideal and multiplicative noise conditions. The multiplicative noise deforms the phase and introduces complex artefacts, such as contour information loss and contrast degradation, that cannot be eliminated using state-of-the-art image reconstruction techniques. In this regard, we introduce five novel reconstruction methods which exploit the phase diagram representation of signals. Two of the methods are based on phase-diagram match filtering to estimate the amplitude in both conditions. Another two methods use the concept of dynamic time warping (DTW) to increase the capability to model the multiplicative type of noise. Lastly, we exploit the dynamic of the phase trajectory described by the curvatures to reconstruct the image. From the large pool of methods, we evaluate throughout the thesis that the curvature-based method efficiently reconstructs the image in both ideal and noisy contexts. After an efficient image reconstruction, the second part of the thesis, we study image analysis and classification methods considering the instabilities of real-world imaging systems, such as translations and rotations. In this sense, we propose to use translation and rotation invariant wavelet packet decompositions, that provide a unique and optimal representation of an image, regardless if the image is translated or rotated. Based on the invariant image representations, novel feature extraction techniques are introduced such as vertical, horizontal, N-directional and N-zonal frameworks. Additionally, two feature structures are introduced and that consider the frequency partitioning of the wavelet decomposition and are adapted to work with Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) and classic ML classifiers such as k-nearest neighbors (k-NN), support vector machine (SVM), etc. Overall, our proposed approaches increase the accuracy of all classifiers

Full textPost-translational modifications are essential in the regulation of the function, folding and interaction of proteins. Similarly, the modification of biomolecules is a main tool in chemical biology to gain new insights into their molecular mechanisms and to alter and fine-tune their activity. The dysregulation of post-translational modifications is often associated with disease. An example are the abnormally hyperphosphorylated tau proteins that are the main component of neurofibrillary tangles, one of the pathological hallmarks of the neurodegenerative disease Alzheimer‘s disease. The origin of these hyperphosphorylations, which render a soluble and mostly unstructured protein into insoluble aggregates, is a key question in Alzheimer research. First steps towards a tau semi-synthesis that allow for the site-specific introduction of phosphorylations in the proline-rich domain were taken by identifying suitable ligation sites, finding the ideal sequential ligation strategy, providing reliable protein expression protocols and optimizing the synthesis of the synthetic peptides equipped with phosphorylated residues. Furthermore, this thesis explored the use of the Staudinger-phosphonite reaction in the synthesis of photo-cleavable phosphonamidates to modify biomolecules in a reversible manner. This conjugation method allowed for the chemoselective modification of an azido-containing target molecule with a borane-protected P(III) reagent that was equipped with photo-cleavable 2-nitrobenzyl substituents and one alkyne for functionalization. UV irradiation induced the phosphonamidate P-N bond cleavage and resulted in the release of the target molecule with an additional amine functionality. In this regard, first steps were undertaken to develop a traceless variant of this cleavage. The application of the photo-cleavable phosphonamidates was demonstrated in streptavidin-mediated immobilization assays, which is just one example for the use of this valuable methodology.

Full textThis thesis work deals with the development of a new generation of low-cost Chipless tags operating in the THz frequency domain, it has been supported by the french national agency for research (ANR-09-VERS-013 « THID » ). It covers a wide area of applications such as the identification and/or unitary authentication of commercial items, identity papers, access control…To manufacture these tags, we proposed to use a periodic stack of dielectric material layers with different refractive index and whose thickness is of the order of the wavelength, commonly known as a one dimensional photonic crystal. The electromagnetic signature of such a structure exhibits photonic bandgaps (PBG), i.e. frequency windows in which light propagation is prohibited. We suggested modifying the periodicity of the crystal to create defect levels (peaks) for example in the 1st PBG to encode binary information. This particular structure allows to precisely tuned an electromagnetic signature. To ensure a mass and cost effective industrialization, we retained basic materials which are widely used in the pulp and paper industry: paper and polyethylene. The choice of these materials, which must combine high index contrast and low absorption, represents the first and a crucial step in this work. We characterize a wide range of materials using classical THz time domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) and we propose two families of tags based on paper and polyethylene. Furthermore, we developed two methods to encode binary information, both based on the absence or presence of peaks in a PBG, peaks whose number and position depend on the introduced defects of periodicity. In a real identification test, a coding capacity of nearly 20-bit has been demonstrated. We also showed that the information contained in the electromagnetic response of these THz tags can be used for other applications related to the unitary authentication and by using the correlation coefficient as criterion for discrimination of the different signatures. Therefore, we evaluate the performance of an authentication test based on this criterion in various analysis domains: time, frequency and time-frequency. We showed that a study of the spectrogram (combining time and frequency representation) is much more relevant than a study in the only time or frequency domain

Full textWhen people want to find information about what is going on in their own society and in the society of others, newspapers have become a primary source. I have decided to make an analysis of what three different newspapers were reporting about the anti-Semitic campaign that took place in Poland and started in March 1968, and what the same newspapers were reporting about the Polish-Jewish refugees when they arrived to Sweden during the year 1969. Given that the basic material that I am using is newspapers I have decided to use descriptive idea analysis when performing my study. I have also chosen a comparative method to use when I make comparisons between the newspapers. The analytical tools that I am going to use when I analyze my material are ethnicity and gender. The main conclusions of this essay are that there is no mention of women in the anti-Semitic campaign that started in March 1968 and that the Jews were blamed for the student demonstrations that took place. Another conclusion is that the newspapers did not report anything about the Polish-Jews that arrived to Sweden in 1969, and a reason for that could be that a parish did not want Polish-Jews that came to Sweden to make any statements in the press because they were afraid that, that could create problems for other Jews that wanted to emigrate from Poland. Full textIn this thesis, we focus on multiword expressions (MWEs) and their relationships with syntactic parsing. The latter task consists in retrieving the syntactic relations holding between the words in a given sentence. The challenge of MWEs in this respect is that, in contrast to regular linguistic expressions, they exhibit various irregular properties which make them harder to deal with in natural language processing. In our work, we show that the challenge of the MWE-related irregularities can be turned into an advantage in practical symbolic parsing. Namely, with tree adjoining grammars (TAGs), which provide first-cLass support for MWEs, and A* search strategies, considerable speed-up gains can be achieved by promoting MWE-based analyses with virtually no loss in syntactic parsing accuracy. This is in contrast to purely statistical state-of-the-art parsers, which, despite efficiency, provide no satisfactory support for MWEs. We contribute a TAG-A* -MWE-aware parsing architecture with facilities (grammar compression and feature structures) enabling real-world applications, easily extensible to a probabilistic framework

I-Kuan Tao has been developing in Taiwan for more than seventy years. Since the end of the Second World War in 1945, the Kuomintang government has taken over the right to rule in Taiwan. I-Kuan Tao has developed in China and gradually come to develop in Taiwan. However, it has not been smooth to develop in Taiwan. Faced with the suppression of the Kuomintang regime, it can only develop secretly and avoid being banned. Until 1987, the Kuomintang government agreed to legalize the law, and since then I-Kuan Tao has been able to publicly promote the Tao affairs. The development of I-Kuan Tao Bao Guang Jian De branch in Taiwan, with Yang Yong-Jiang as the main person in charge, has been passed down to the fifth predecessor. The current leader is Lin Zai-Jin. In the early days of Taiwan's development, Bao Guang Jian De branch expanded from Taichung to the whole province of Taiwan and has now developed to the whole of the world. The Tao society in Pingtung area is part of the Kaohsiung development in Taiwan. It originated from Kaohsiung's Tian Tai Tao Center set up before martial law dissolution in 1958 and was developed into the Pingtung area. After martial law dissolution, Tian Xiu Tao Center was set up in Pingtung in 1990. After the completion of this Tao Center, it was integrated into a group in the Pingtung area, and the name was "Shui Zhen Group", which was divided into Bode, Xiaode and Ci three districts and continued to develop Tao affairs to this day, but the leadership point and the predecessors remain unchanged, and there is no division, all belong to the management of the Tian Tai Tao Society. In addition to the establishment of Tao temples in various townships and cities, the development of Pingtung Shui Zhen Group also promotes Tao affairs in counties and cities across the region and promotes the purification of people's hearts, promotes filial piety, and organizes public welfare activities with the "Religious Charity Foundation of the Republic of China". At present, most of the researches in the study have been conducted in I-Kuan Tao branches. This study is intended to be carried out in a microscopic way. The development of the Shui Zhen group in the Pingtung area of I-kuan Tao Bao Guang Jian De Tian Tai Tao Society is taken as the research object. Analyze the development history and development characteristics of I-kuan Tao Bao Guang Jian De Tao Society in Pingtung.

The main theme of this thesis was the establishment of development platform for the active sensor’s RFID tag based on the Tag-it™ protocol and embedded system techniques. The RFID transmission technique simultaneously delivers the energy and operational command by the RF signals to activate the sensors on the tag, and then immediately receives the sensed data from that tag. The development platform extends the sensor interface on a traditional RFID tag that is helpful to applied to military, medical treatments, vehicles, logistics, entrance guard or tracking, aviation, anti-counterfeit, tracking, and payment. Otherwise, the development platform assisted the development of the smart sensors and wireless sensor networks on the RFID application domain. Specifically, the platform includes the decoder/encoder, a microprocessor, and analog signal interfaces that are integrated to explore the connection between the RFID tag and sensors, to transfer the prototype of the active sensor’s RFID tag into an SOC process, and to conveniently exemplify and optimize the functional modules of the active sensor’s RFID tag.

Meng Wentong’s phrasing of “the Chongxuan (twofold mystery) school” initiated a nearly 50-year academic enthusiasm for the Chongxuan philosophy of the Tang dynasty. Currently, more than 100 monographs and articles devoted to the study of Chongxuan have been published. In particular, the publication of Lu Guolong’s Zhongguo Chongxuan Xue (Chongxuan Philosophy in China) comprehensively introduced Chongxuan philosophy to the academia. However, approximately two decades after the book’s publication, the academia has not managed to produce another more exhaustive monograph on the Chongxuan study. To address this gap, the author of this study aims to reinitiate a discourse on the Chongxuan philosophy of the Tang dynasty, basing the discussion in the changes of the Chongxuan philosophy and adopting the perspectives of Tao (the Way), Xing (nature), and Xin (mind) to scrutinize how the Chongxuan philosophy shifted from Tao theory to Mind–Nature theory in the Tang dynasty. The completion of this study will enable Chongxuan researchers to examine the rise and development of Tang Chongxuan philosophy from a more refined perspective.

With the Taoism, born and thrived in China, embodying a wealth of the very essence of the grassroots traditional culture, The “Taipingjing”, as an earlier influential Taoist text, has been a manifestation of this underlying essence. Going back nearly two thousand years ago, the spread of the “Taipingjing” has been interconnected to the Taiping Taoist group, yet the significance it symbolizes goes beyond reflecting the state of an era, but also marking a monumental turning point in the formation of systematic religion in China. As the “Taipingjing” draws and integrates the various early teachings in China, its teachings encompass a wide range of concepts, including ethics, morality, Ying/Yang mishaps, state governance, folklore practices, magic powers, grassroots deity and spiritual faith, and China’s earlier unique supernatural spirituality thinking; the “Taipingjing” systematically transformed all these concept into building a greater religious system to exert an significant influence to the later Taoist theories. With the spread of the earlier “Taipingjing” being interconnected to the Tai-Ping Tao, it has emerged as a critical subject in terms of the development background, correlation and origin of the two. The thesis, in discerning the correlation between the “Taipingjing” and Tai-Ping Tao, first aims to discern and establish the timeline development of the two elements broaching from the historic angle, and to observe from the angle of the social background then to discover that the relevancy of the Tai-Ping Tao and the “Taipingjing” had been established through its grassroots preaching period over more than a decade’s span following Zhang Jiao’s securing the “Taipingjing” and before the yellow scarf uprising. Yet with the blank window in this period of the history presenting a critical key, it not only fostered the early Taoism to transform into a systematic religious prototype, but also steered it to gradually detach from the conventional magic healing groups or magic healers. The author attempts to recap how the early Taoism was spread through the “Taipingjing” by hitching onto the Tai-Ping Tao, and to extrapolate the probable causes behind the development by sorting and summarizing the findings in a move to retell the initial state before the early Taoism took shape, and in anticipation to avail the public with a clear concept towards the earlier religious group of the Tai-Ping Tao.

ABSTRACT De-Shuoi Temple, formerly known as De-Shiou Buddhist Temple, was established in 1955. It belongs to one of the Divine Teachings of Confucius in the Flying Phoenix House System. Flying Phoenix House can also be called Divine House or Essence of Confucianism. This religion is set based on the religious teaching, the mediumship of sand-ceremony, and the divine Buddha contact the human-being through the medium and its spiritual power to reach the level of “harmonious union between man and nature”. The ceremony of planchette writing must be conducted by three religious talents and six religious participants specializing in different domains; they use phoenix pen made by prunus and willow branch, write words with flying strokes and read them out, then transcribe these words. The transcription of planchette writing is mainly considered as the enlightenment and supplemented with the idea of social contribution. By creating and publishing phoenix books, we will be able to straighten people’s mind and realize the spirit of saints’ “neisheng waiwang” (literally means: a sage in the inner sphere, a king in the outer sphere) and equality, brotherhood, intelligence, virtue and mercy of Buddha. Therefore, creating classic masterpieces of Flying Phoenix Rhapsodies, to inspire human beings, awaken mankind or preach the Taoism, is an indispensable sacred affair. De-Shuoi Temple is situated in the author’s home town- Feng-Rong Village in Lunbei Township. It has been founded for around sixty years. Compared to the origin and the history of flying phoenix house in Taiwan, De-Shuoi Temple is not the most recent or the most ancient. The main purpose of the study is to see how the flying phoenix house in Taiwan could keep the Taoist tradition and run the temple in a modern way at the same time, despite of the fast-paced life caused by improved technology, during the era of revolutions and the change in social form. Based on the adjustment of planchette writing ceremony and the revolutions of humanistic interpretation, the author is going to find out how flying phoenix house in religious domain, especially in the scope of folk beliefs, can breach the bottleneck and find its own path to survive in this society. Five chapters are included in this study: Chapter 1 is the introduction. Chapter 2 studies the flying phoenix house by conducting research on Taiwanese folk belief in flying phoenix house, including its origin and evolutionary process; through the planchette writing folk-belief ceremony, how the leader of religious groups did to offer social contribution and fulfill the function of enlightenment. On the other hand, the distribution of belief in flying phoenix house and the future impact of changing social form are going to be discussed as well. Chapter 3 demonstrates the organizational management and history of Lunbei De-Shuoi Temple, its religious ceremony and development with future perspectives. Chapter 4 carries out the case study regarding the meaning and functions of planchette writing ceremony in De-Shuoi Temple. And the last but not the least, Chapter 5 is the conclusion.

Aging and many diseased states have been shown by heart rate variability (HRV) analysis to be associated with depressed vagal activity. The extent of vagal depression correlated with the severity or poor prognosis of the disease. Methods that can increase the vagal modulation of the subjects have been a goal of clinician. Health promotion and disease prevention have become increasingly important to the public and health professionals since 1990s. Good nutrition and regular exercise can reduce the risk of various kinds of diseases, and may extend the duration of life for many people, thereby serving as the best current prescription for a long and healthy life. Tai Chi Chuan (TCC) and Wai Tan Kung (WTK) are two very popular and distinct conditioning calisthenics in Oriental countries. Both TCC and WTK are claimed to be suitable for older people and patients with chronic diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of TCC and WTK on the autonomic nervous modulation in the aged subjects, and to compare the physiological effects of TCC and WTK. The heart rate is modulated by the sinus node in the heart, and the autonomic nervous system in the body. The electrical rhythm of the sinus node within the heart is relatively fixed, but the autonomic nervous activity is changed from time to time to maintain the physiological function of the body. The heart rate variability is the variability in the firing of the sinus node that is modulated by the autonomic nervous system. The heart rate variability as studied by power spectral analysis can then be used as a tool to evaluate the activity of the autonomic nervous system. The power spectrum of the heart period obtained by means of fast Fourier transformation usually demonstrates two significant groups of peaks. The vagally mediated high frequency groups of peaks are located within 0.15-0.40 Hz. The noemalized high-frequency power (high-frequency power/total power) is usually used as the index of vagal modulation, the noemalized low-frequency power (low-frequency power/total power) as the index of sympathetic and vagal modulation, and the low-/high-frequency power ratio (low-frequency power/high-frequency power) as the index of sympathovagal balance. Twenty TCC practitioners and twenty normal controls were included in the first study. The stationary state spectral heart rate variability (HRV) measures, hemodynamics and spirometry between TCC practitioners and normal controls, and the sequential changes in HRV measures after classical Yang''s TCC were compared. The total power (TP), very low frequency power (VLFP), low frequency power (LFP), normalized low-frequency power (nLFP) and low-/high-frequency power ratios (LFP/HFP) in TCC practitioners were all significantly higher than those of normal controls, whereas the heart rate (HR) and systolic (SBP) and diastolic blood pressures (DBP) were not different between these two groups of subjects. After TCC, the nHFP increased significantly from 22.8 ± 14.6 normalized units (nu) before TCC to 28.2 ± 16.1 nu 30 min after TCC and to 30.6 ± 18.4 nu 60 min after TCC. In contrast, the LFP/HFP decreased significantly from 2.5 ± 2.4 before TCC to 1.8 ± 1.4 30 min after TCC and to 2.2 ± 2.9 60 min after TCC. The HR, SBP, DBP, mean arterial blood pressure (MABP), and pulse pressure (PP) also decreased sequentially after TCC. It is evident that the short-term effect of TCC was to enhance the vagal modulation and tilt the sympatho-vagal balance toward deceased sympathetic modulation in older persons. TCC might be good health-promoting calisthenics for older persons. In the second study, twenty WTK practitioners and twenty normal controls were recruited in this study. The stationary state spectral HRV measures, hemodynamics and spirometry between WTK group and normal controls, and the sequential changes in HRV measures and hemodynamics after WTK, were compared. We found that the standard deviation and coefficient of variation of RR intervals, TP, LFP, and nLFP in WTK practitioners before WTK were all significantly higher than those of normal controls. After WTK, the nHFP increased significantly from 27.7 ± 13.2 normalized unit (nu) before WTK to 37.6 ± 16.0 nu 30 minutes after WTK, and to 39.8 ± 20.1 nu 60 minutes after WTK. In contrast, the LFP/HFP decreased significantly from 1.3 ± 1.0 before WTK to 1.0 ± 0.9 30 minutes after WTK, and to 0.8 ± 0.6 60 minutes after WTK. We concluded that the short-term effect of WTK was to enhance the vagal modulation and to suppress the sympathetic modulation, whereas the long-term effect of WTK was to enhance the sympathetic modulation without compromising the vagal modulation of the elder adults. The WTK is a good health promotion calisthenics that can be recommended to the elder adults. In the third study, thirty WTK practitioners, thirty TCC practitioners and thirty normal controls were included in this study. The hemodynamics, spirometry, and stationary state HRV measures among normal controls, WTK and TCC practitioners were compared. Before exercise, the percentage forced vital capacity (%FVC) of the TCC practitioners was significantly higher than that of WTK practitioners, and both nLFP and LFP/HFP of the TCC and WTK practitioners were significantly higher than those of normal controls. After WTK or TCC, while both nVLFP and LFP/HFP decreased significantly, the nHFP increased significantly. In addition, the SBP, DBP, MABP, PP and HR all decreased significantly after WTK or TCC. The SBP and MABP in the TCC practitioners 30 or 60 min after TCC were significantly lower than those of the WTK practitioners 30 or 60 min after WTK. It is evident that while the effect of TCC and WTK on the autonomic nervous modulation is comparable to each other, the TCC is superior to WTK in lowering the arterial blood pressure and improving the vital capacity in the elderly. In conclusion, while the short-term effect of WTK on the autonomic nervous modulation is comparable to TCC, the short-term effect of TCC on lowering the blood pressure seems to be better than WTK, and the long-term effect of TCC on increasing the vital capacity seems to be better than WTK in the elderly. WTK and TCC are two good health promotion calisthenics that are worthy of recommending to the elderly in terms of their effects on the autonomic nervous modulation and cardiopulmonary functions.

Recent studies have shown that the patterns of Linkage Disequilibrium (LD) observed in the human population reveal a block-like structure. The entire chromosome can be partitioned into high LD regions interspersed by low LD regions. The high LD regions are usually called “haplotype blocks”. Within a haplotype block, there are only few haplotype patterns and only a small subset of SNPs (called tag SNPs) are sufficient to distinguish these patterns. To solve the problem of finding tag SNPs, we propose a hybrid method that combines the ideas of the branch-and-bound method and the greedy algorithm. This method explores larger solution space to obtain a better solution than a traditional greedy algorithm. It also allows the user to adjust the efficiency of the program and quality of solutions. This algorithm has been implemented and tested on a variety of simulated and biological data. The experimental results indicate that our program can find better solutions than previous methods. This approach is quite general since it can be used to adapt other greedy algorithms to solving their corresponding problems. In addition, we can reduce the number of tag SNPs even more by considering the extent of linkage disequilibrium in the human genome. We show that the extent of LD can be also used to boost the heavy computation of computation of pairwise LD by giving a faster algorithm. We propose two methods of which the first is a posterior approach based one existing algorithms and the second identifies tag SNPs by considering the correlation between SNPs from the beginning. The experimental results show that our methods can reduce the number of tags SNPs in comparison with previous methods and the efficiency is significantly improved.

In this thesis, two tag antenna designs for passive radio-frequency identification (RFID) are proposed. Two mainstream RF identification chips in the market, namely Alien Higgs 3 and NXP SL3S50xx, are used to integrate with the tag antennas, respectively. First, a novel tag antenna with the parasitic metal plate on the back side is proposed to integrate with the Alien Higgs 3 chip and attached on windshield of the bus or trunk. By adjusting the dimension of the closed loop near the chip to obtain the conjugate impedance, the reading distance between the reader antenna and the tag can be more than 2.5 meters due to the effect of the tilt angle caused by the parasitic metal plate on the back side of the tag. Then, in order to reduce the interference from the nearby base station, we propose a novel tag antenna integrated with the NXP SL3S50xx chip to obtain the optimal radiation performance. The interference tolerance is promoted to be 3.32 dBm and the reading distance more than 2.5 meters. Details of the proposed tag antenna designs are described in this study, and the related results for the obtained performance are presented and discussed.

The H5N1 avian flu started in South Africa in 1961 and it broke out in Hong Kong in 1997. It caused 18 people to be infected with this disease and 6 people died. In addition, H5N1, H7N7, H9N2 avian flu are the styles that are contagious non-via pigs. In 2001, bird flu broke out again in Hong Kong and many chickens died. Because it is not easy to manage the poultry, the related organizations or keepers may not trace the following step when the poultry is infected with disease and dies afterwards. Therefore, this study is aimed to set up a method to manage and control the poultry. Using Radio Frequency Identification to manage the chicken coop or other poultry can be fast and effective. Moreover, instant monitoring can be done by applying GPS and wireless transmission system. The RFID at the present market uses LF and 125 KHz frequency, which has short response distance and poor anti-collision especially when the number of the poultry is large. Thus, in order to overcome the ineffectiveness stated above, this study combines UHF and the two-section-frequency RFID to increase the response distance and read more poultry at the same time. That is, the ultimate objective and value of RFID can be thoroughly developed. The objectives of this study are as follows: l. The development of the tag of the poultry and READER antenna 2.The development of the firmware and coding equipment 3. The monitoring software of the terminal The most difficult stage of this study lies in the making of the READER antenna and its tag. If this poultry management system is proved to be feasible, the application can be expanded to all the animal management system in the near future.

This paper we propose a security and efficient authentication technology that is suitable for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) application environment. This technology is proper when the passive tag has weak computing ability, memory limitation and no on-board battery. Based on Hash function and exclusive-or operation, this technology not only offers data protection and mutual authentication, but also can protect the tag from analysis, tracing, or cloning. In the application to RFID mobile payment, this technology can prevent masquerade, double spending and tracing, ensuring the security during the transaction process.

After Tang Dynasty ended split six Dynasitis which were deeply influenced by Mongols and took the political powers, Tang couldn’t obtain the support of the original actual powers held by the old nobles in Central Plains. Thus, the second emperor---Tang Tai Chung started to establish new nobles, the so-called Guan Long Group, schemingly and strategically began to hold the imperial examination system for the people. It was not until the Empress Wu came into power that she purposely recruited from the civilians. As a result, the imperial examination system was then brought to completion. Tang Dynasty lasted from the first year of Kao Ju Wu Der to the fourth year of Jao Shuang Emperor over three hundred years; the political power was released to common people raised from the imperial examination system instead of original nobles, it came to the result of the struggle between groups and parties with severe conflicts in the imperial court. As for the society , people would rather turn to esteem chin-shihs (the graduates of the imperial examinations) than admire the original nobles. To the late Tang Dynasty with local authorities independent of the central authority, people even considered their vision as” being a soldier” rather than” being an official”. As for the individual, since civilians could be the government officials, it resulted in emphasizing individual characteristics and the rising abruptly of individualism. To confront with 《Tai Ping Guang Chi》, the novel collections before Sung Dynasty, the research would adopt the way of “to demonstrate history via novels”, finding different stages of scholars’ literary creation, behavior recorded in the Tang Dynasty; in this way, it not only showed that pedigrees ideas toward the society had changed; pushing forward imperial examination system to reveal officialdom circumstance, but it also showed the influence of political and social dimensions by political party transition process. Meanwhile, we can also see that Mongolian culture, which wasn’t approved by the traditional Han culture, dominating the whole world by utilizing imperial examination system. It seemed to be an essential turbulent process for civilians entering the government by imperial examination system that all officialdom circumstance ruined and pedigrees ideas changed. The chapter two of this research, according to the forming background of pedigrees ideas, is to analyze the change of pedigrees ideas reflected in the Tang Dynasty; chapter three is to probe into common people that could participate in politics by imperial examination system, and officialdom circumstance resulted from the clique war in Tang Dynasty reflected in《Tai Ping Guang Chi》. Chapter four indicates the imperial examination system that resulted in politics power fighting and the ebb and flow of the parties between original nobles and the civilian new nobles; in the research, it also analyzes and discusses negative social images reflected in this article such as the civilians’ consciousness rising , politics dominates the whole lot, and females’ self-awareness, etc. culture, which wasn’t approved by the traditional Han culture, dominating the whole world by utilizing imperial examination system. Devices based on surface acoustic wave (SAW) are applied to wireless communications, such as passive SAW based radio frequency identification tags (SAW RFID tags). They can be operated in some harsh environments. Due to the wireless capability, they are also suitable for remote monitoring and sensing. For SAW based RFID tags, the operating frequency and number of possible codes are both critical. In this study, the interdigital transducers (IDT) are operated in their higher harmonic modes to achieve to 915MHz. Moreover, a new idea of decimal coding scheme will be introduced to increase the number of possible codes. First, the Abbott’s coupling-of-modes model is used to simulated and analyze the frequency responses of SAW based RFID tags. Furthermore, inverse fast Fourier transform is applied to transform the responses into time domain. The information of tags is obtained and decoded. Using the simulation results, the three-finger IDT and double-electrode IDT are analyzed along with their harmonic responses, and the new idea of decimal coding scheme is also introduced. Finally, the SAW RFID tags with central frequency of 915MHz are fabricated on the 128°Y-X LiNbO3 using Nano/Micro-Electro Mechanical Systems (N/MEMS) techniques. The experimental result and simulation results are compared, and the new idea of decimal coding proof to be achieved. In conclusion, the study utilized the COM theory to analyze SAW based RFID tags. The tag with improvement decimal coding scheme can include more data bits, and has smaller die area (i.e. lower cost)
