Abstract:
In recent years, patients’ expectations are becoming higher in terms of esthetic dentistry. Having the ideal smile is becoming a purpose as the appearance of stars and famous persons have been undoubtedly improved through smile correction. Peg-shaped lateral incisors are a common dental form aberration which could distort the smile and may hamper patient psychology because of the smaller shape and size in disharmony with other teeth. Three-quarter ceramic veneers are a mini-invasive approach which could solve the esthetic problem of peg-shaped teeth and ensure patient’s satisfaction. The present paper was about a clinical case with peg-shaped lateral incisors treated with three-quarter ceramic crowns. It would also highlight the preparation particularities.

Abstract:
The Muenster and Northwestern sockets have become universally prescribed for below-elbow amputees with myoelectric prostheses. The most attractive feature of these sockets is that they are self-suspending, thereby obviating the need for a harness. The sockets are designed to encompass the patient's whole elbow. Because of the intimate fit, heat build-up inside the socket is a problem. Patients with myoelectric prostheses are denied the benefit of a stump sock. Ventilation inside the socket is almost zero and excessive perspiration occurs. This leads to maceration and skin problems which negatively affect control, comfort and wearing time. This paper reports on a technique whereby the problem of no ventilation is overcome through the removal of the proximal-posterior quadrant of the socket.

Abstract:
Purpose – The introduction of a three-quarter-view database in the PRO-fit facial-composite system has enabled an investigation into the effects of image view in face construction. The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of constructing full-face and three-quarter-view composites under different encoding conditions. It also examines the potential value of three-quarter-view composites that can be generated automatically from a front-view composite. The authors also investigate whether there is an identification benefit for presenting full-face and three-quarter composites together. Design/methodology/approach – Three experiments examine the impact of encoding conditions on composite construction and presentation of composites at the evaluation stage. Findings – The work revealed that while standard full-face composites perform well when all views of the face have been encoded, care should be taken when a person has only seen one view. When a witness has seen a side view of a suspect, a three-quarter-view composite should be constructed. Also, it would be beneficial for a witness to construct two composites of a suspect, one in full-face view and one in a three-quarter-view, particularly when the witness has only encoded one view. No benefit emerged for use of three-quarter-view composites generated automatically. Research limitations/implications – This is the first study to examine viewpoint in facial composite construction. While a great deal of research has examined viewpoint dependency in face recognition tasks, composite construction is a reconstruction task involving both recall and recognition. The results indicate that there is a viewpoint effect that is similar to that described in the recognition literature. However, more research is needed in this area. Practical implications – The practical implications of this research are that it is extremely important for facial composite operators in the field (police operators) to know who will make a good likeness of the target. Research such as this which examines real-life issues is incredibly important. This research shows that if a witness has seen all views of a perpetrator’s face then standard composite construction using a full-face view will work well. However, if they have only seen a single view then it will not. Social implications – There are obvious wider societal implications for any research which deals with eyewitness memory and the potential identification of perpetrators. Originality/value – No research to date has formally examined the impact of viewpoint in facial-composite construction.

Abstract:
The economy is slowing as expected. NIESR's estimate of monthly GDP suggests that the rate of economic growth slowed from 0.3 per cent in the first quarter of this year to 0.2 per cent in the second quarter of this year (figure 1), the weakest rate of growth since the second quarter of 2001. Recent data on the state of the economy is mixed. Retail sales volume growth surged to 1.8 per cent per quarter in the three months to May 2008, up from a rate of growth of 1.2 per cent in the preceding three months. The index of production, however, recorded a fall of 0.5 per cent in the three months to May 2008. The index of services suggests services output growth has continued to be relatively subdued. The quarterly rate of growth in the three months to April was 0.3 per cent, half the rate of growth in the final quarter of 2007. While the retail sales data are not yet consistent with a consumer led slowdown, the decline of hotel and restaurant output in the three months to April suggests that other components of consumer spending are slowing.

Abstract:
Composite tubes with different cross-sectional shapes, including quarter circle, half circle and three-quarter circle, are axially crushed to study the boundary effects on the energy absorption of cylindrical shells and develop a semi-empirical analysis method for the crashworthy design of composite structures. It is observed experimentally that all specimens crush from the chamfered end and exhibit stable progressive crushing with similar macroscopic failure modes. Experimental results indicate that the load-displacement curves of all specimens are similar to those of full-circle tubes. And the quarter-circle tubes show the lowest energy absorption capability, while the half-circle tubes and three-quarter-circle tubes show almost the same energy absorption capability. It is found that quarter-circle thermoset tubes without and with one free edge provide 19% and 13% higher energy absorption capability than the quarter-circle thermoset tubes with two free edges; while quarter-circle thermoplastic tubes without and with one free edge provide 6% and 2% higher energy absorption capability than the quarter-circle thermoplastic tubes with two free edges, respectively. It is also found that the semi-empirical analysis method based on crush data and boundary effects of the quarter-circle tubes can accurately predict the energy absorption capability of half-circle or full-circle tubes.

Abstract:
Reconstruction of a large acetabular bone defect is a complex problem in revision hip arthroplasty. The authors report a novel method of reconstructing an uncontained acetabular defect (Paprosky type IIIb) using multiple tantalum augments. A 73-year-old female patient presented to our institution with a chronically dislocated primary left total hip arthroplasty with radiographs demonstrating migration of acetabular component and formation of pseudoarthrosis within the left ilium. Extensive arthrolysis and anatomic reconstruction of the acetabular bone defect were performed using the novel method of multiple tantalum augments. Postoperatively, recovery was initially complicated by multiple dislocations requiring an exchange to an elevated liner, however subsequently achieved good function.

Abstract:
The traditional rat-race coupler comprises a quarter-wavelength transmission line and a three-quarter-wavelength transmission line. In this design, the slow-wave structure transmission line is employed to replace the conventional quarter-wavelength transmission line, and the three-quarter-wavelength transmission line is substituted with the left-handed transmission line. By using the TSMC CMOS 90 nm fabrication process, a circuit is created with a chip size of 300 μm × 200 μm, corresponding to the electrical size at 39 GHz of 0.039λ0 × 0.026λ0. The measured results demonstrate that the operating bandwidth is 35 to 43 GHz, with an amplitude imbalance of around 0 dB, a phase error within 1°, a return loss of less than 26 dB, and an isolation better than 40 dB.

Abstract:
By analyzing the quarterly financial report, this research aims to provide empirical evidence about the timing of earnings management activities based riels (activities-based real earnings management) and profits related to alignment and the persistence of profits. Hypothesis are: (1) riels earnings management more done in the fourth quarter, (2) flattening profits through earnings management riel a positive impact on the persistence of earnings and (3) companies that allegedly made a profit through the manipulation of leveling riel activity has the persistence of profit higher in the fourth quarter than in any other quarter. This study tested three earnings management proxy riel operating cash flow is abnormal, abnormal discretionary expenses, and abnormal production boarding. Riel profit management is calculated by summing the three standardized proxy. The number of companies that serve as a sample according to the criteria is a company with 63 research period from 2004 to 2008. Of this amount, the company entered into a profit-based criteria grader Eckel model is as much as 26 companies. The collection of data with purposive sampling method. Testing the first and third hypothesis was tested with different test or indendent sample t-test while the second hypothesis was tested with regression. The first hypothesis test results showed that the average abnormal operating cash flow, abnormal discretionary expenses, and lodging in the abnormal production of the fourth quarter is statistically greater than in any other quarter. Standardize the amount of the three proxy in the fourth quarter is also statistically greater than in any other quarter. This study failed to support the second hypothesis which states that the flattening of profit through the manipulation of positive affect riel activity against the persistence of profits. In contrast, this study proves that the act of leveling a profit through the manipulation of riels activities negatively affect the persistence of profits. The third hypothesis test results show that the average difference between the persistence of profits in the fourth quarter with the other quarter was not statistically significant. So that it can be said that there is no difference in the persistence of profits in the fourth quarter with another quarter. Abstract:
`Chandler' strawberries (Fragaria ×ananassa Duch.) harvested three-quarter colored or fully red were stored in air or a controlled atmosphere (CA) of 5% O2 + 15% CO2 at 4 or 10 °C to evaluate the influence of fruit maturity and storage temperature on the response to CA. Quality evaluations were made after 1 and 2 weeks in air or CA, and also after 1 and 2 weeks in air or CA plus 1 day in air at 20 °C. By 2 weeks, strawberries of both maturities stored in air at 10 °C were decayed, however, strawberries stored in CA at 4 or 10 °C or air at 4 °C had no decay even after 2 weeks plus 1 day at 20 °C. Three-quarter colored fruit stored in either air or CA remained firmer, lighter (higher L* value) and purer red (higher hue and chroma values) than fully red fruit, with the most pronounced effect being on CA-stored fruit at 4 °C. CA was more effective than air storage in maintaining initial anthocyanin and soluble solids contents (SSC) of three-quarter colored fruit and fruit stored at 10 °C. Strawberries harvested three-quarter colored maintained initial hue and chroma values for 2 weeks in CA at 4 °C, becoming fully red only when transferred to air at 20 °C. Although three-quarter colored fruit darkened and softened in 10 °C storage, the CA-stored fruit remained lighter colored and as firm as the at-harvest values of fully red fruit. After 1 or 2 weeks in CA at either 4 or 10 °C plus 1 day at 20 °C, three-quarter colored fruit also had similar SSC levels but lower total anthocyanin contents than the initial levels in fully red fruit. CA maintained better strawberry quality than air storage even at an above optimum storage temperature of 10 °C, but CA was more effective at the lower temperature of 4 °C. Three-quarter colored fruit responded better to CA than fully red fruit, maintaining better appearance, firmness, and color over 2 weeks storage, while achieving similar acidity and SSC with minimal decay development.

Abstract:
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between motivation and academic performance in chiropractic students. This was a cross-sectional study. Three hundred and sixty-two students were recruited from the 1st and 3rd quarters during the 2017-2018 academic year. Out of 362 students, 305 completed the Inventory of School Motivation (ISM). Total scores from the 1st quarter General Anatomy course and the 3rd quarter Immunology/Endocrinology course were used to measure the 1st quarter and 3rd quarter academic performance, respectively. The mean total motivation score for all students was 28.40 ± 3.79 (mean ± SD). There was no signi?cant difference in total motivation score between students in the two quarters (p > .05). The mean of the 1st quarter praise scores was statistically significantly higher than those of the 3rd quarter (p < .05). The means of three motivation subscale scores for females were signi?cantly higher than that for males (task, effort, and praise, p < .05) while the mean competition score for males was signi?cantly higher than that for females (p < .01). The linear analysis demonstrated a weak but statistically significant correlation of task (r = .11, p < .05) and effort (r = .13, p < .05) with academic performance indicating that task and effort were minor predictors of academic outcome (p < .05).There was a weak, but statistically significant positive correlation between the three motivation subscales and academic performance. Female students scored significantly higher on three motivation subscales while males scored higher on one.

Abstract:
AbstractThe detection of family relationships in genetic databases is of interest in various scientific disciplines such as genetic epidemiology, population and conservation genetics, forensic science, and genealogical research. Nowadays, screening genetic databases for related individuals forms an important aspect of standard quality control procedures. Relatedness research is usually based on an allele sharing analysis of identity by state (IBS) or identity by descent (IBD) alleles. Existing IBS/IBD methods mainly aim to identify first-degree relationships (parent–offspring or full siblings) and second degree (half-siblings, avuncular, or grandparent–grandchild) pairs. Little attention has been paid to the detection of in-between first and second-degree relationships such as three-quarter siblings (3/4S) who share fewer alleles than first-degree relationships but more alleles than second-degree relationships. With the progressively increasing sample sizes used in genetic research, it becomes more likely that such relationships are present in the database under study. In this paper, we extend existing likelihood ratio (LR) methodology to accurately infer the existence of 3/4S, distinguishing them from full siblings and second-degree relatives. We use bootstrap confidence intervals to express uncertainty in the LRs. Our proposal accounts for linkage disequilibrium (LD) by using marker pruning, and we validate our methodology with a pedigree-based simulation study accounting for both LD and recombination. An empirical genome-wide array data set from the GCAT Genomes for Life cohort project is used to illustrate the method.

Abstract:
This paper evaluates the response of oil price and exchange rate to the corona virus pandemic shock aside from the link between oil price and exchange rate for the first three quarters of 2020 in Nigeria. The theoretical framework emanates from the informal approach and the terms of trade channels. Using VAR cointegration approach, results show existence of long run relationship among the oil price, exchange rate movement and the corona virus indicators based on Max-Eigen and Trace test statistic. End of first quarter oil price, discharge rate and fatality rate negatively relate with current exchange rate. First quarter exchange rate and fatality rate positively relates to oil price behaviour in the third quarter while end of first quarter discharge rate increase fosters oil price decline. First quarter spread rate increase gradually reduces oil demand and the price in the third quarter. All corona virus indicators and exchange rate variable Granger Cause current oil price. Diversification is key to widen export base and increase foreign exchange and stability. Policy measures to sustain the economy in the post COVID-19 and beyond are necessary for long term development.

Abstract:
This article examines the views of the jurists of the four schools of thought about the value of the Islamic nisab in theft. The author reviewed Sharia texts and the views of jurists in a descriptive and analytical method. The reviews of jurists are different in determining the quorum that takes place in hand cutting. According to the majority of jurists, the completion of the nisab in hand cutting is a condition according to the indications of the Shariah texts and the consensus of the Companions. The amount of nisab in the Hanafi School is ten dirhams or one dinar. According to the Shafi'is, a quarter (1/4) of a dinar or what the price is a quarter of a dinar. Imam Malik considers the nisab to be a quarter of a dinar if the stolen property is gold and three dirhams, if it is silver, while most of the Hanbalis consider the nisab to be three dirhams or a quarter of a dinar and for some reasons. They refer to hadiths. Rajeh's view is the view of the majority (Shafi'is, Malikis and Hanbalis) who consider the nisab to be a quarter of a dinar or three dirhams. What is obtained through this research is that the majority of jurists consider the existence of nisab of the stolen property as a condition, and they do not consider the amount of theft to be applicable if it is less than the nisab; However, they have two views in determining the nisab: the first view considers a quarter of a dinar or three dirhams as the nisab, and the second view considers the nisab to be one dinar or ten dirhams. The valid point of view, based on the validity and strength of the reasons, is the same point of view of the Republicans. Dinar and dirhams that are cut off must be multiplied.
