Abstract:
This paper presents a systems theoretical approach to (continually) reconfigure the relation between academic and artistic production of knowledge in so-called art based research projects. The foundation of the argument is an insistence on retaining the difference between artistic and academic knowledge (production) instead of trying to negotiate some kind of synthesis. In this way, both academic and artistic processes will hopefully be able to use the ‘otherness’ of the process to stimulate its self-critical knowledge production in pro-active and yet unforeseeable ways.

Abstract:
Grundtvig in GreenlandicN. F. S. Grundtvigip Tussiusiai Kalaallisungortitat, Nuuk 1985By Signe MichelsenIn 1985 the Greenland publishers Pilersuiffik (Nuuk/Godth.b) published a selection of Grundtvig’s hymns and songs translated into Greenlandic by the poet Frederik Nielsen. His translations represent a bold and many-sided choice, covering both the hymns and the bible-story songs as well as the fatherland songs. Translating Grundtvig is terribly difficult. Translating Grundtvig into Greenlandic is a noble feat. A language whose structure is completely different from Danish: a poly-synthetic language whose words consist of so many elements (stems and affixes) that a single word can constitute a whole sentence sequence. The background to Frederik Nielsen’s translations of Grundtvig is his own inspiration from youth. Nielsen was born in 1905 and has been a significant poet in Greenland as well as an educationist and a politician. From 1956-67 he was head of the Greenland Radio. He was the first Greenlander to graduate from a Danish college of education (T.nder), and during his time at college he lived with a family strongly influenced by Grundtvig. The decisive moment came when he took part in a grundtvigian meeting in 1927, where for the first time he heard the hymn: All Creatures that were Given Wings (Alt, hvad som fuglevinger fik). He writes of the experience in his memoirs: “That was when I had the conviction that grundtvigian Christianity was the form of Christianity and the Christian way of life that best agreed with me.” In 1934 on the recommendation of Knud Rasmussen, he had had his novel Tuumarse (Thomas) published in Greenlandic. He himself translated it into Danish in 1980. He has since written a number of novels and poems, some of the latter having been translated into Danish. He is still a productive writer and has also sought to inspire his compatriots as a translator, among other things of a selection of Danish poems from 1980.As examples of his Grundtvig translations two are singled out here: All Creatures that were Given Wings and O , Christian Lot! (O, Christelighed). They are published in a retro-translation to Danish, but the original texts to the hymns in question are printed in Greenlandic. It is clear that there are ideas and concepts in Grundtvig that are impossible to translate. On the other hand the Greenlandic language enforces a greater simplicity than in Grundtvig. This can actually lead to very beautiful passages, as in the two last stanzas of O , Christian Lot!. They contain the essentials and express them with spontaneity and intensity. The Greenlandic poet, Kristian Olsen, reviewing Frederik Nielsen’s hymn translations, writes: “Having read them through Grundtvig’s many word-pictures, he has somehow imbued them with Grundtvig’s spirit.”

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to give a constructive proposal of how to understand the role of Christian affections for theological reflection and work with systematic theology. The last decades have seen an increased interest within different academic disciplines, including theology, in the topic of emotions, feelings and affections, and their significance for human rationality. In a Norwegian theological context, the question of the significance of Christian affections is accentuated by the 250th anniversary of the revivalist and social reformer Hans Nielsen Hauge (1771-1824). Within Pentecostal theology, a consensus has emerged that Christian affections are necessary for right doctrine and right practice to be sustained coherently. However, more work to spell out their relationship in detail is needed. In the first part of the article, I will present a theological understanding of Christian affections, based on the work of Steven Land and Simeon Zahl, exemplified and illuminated by the historical testimonies of Hans Nielsen Hauge and the Thomas Ball Barratt. In the second part, I will give my constructive proposal where I employ «the somatic marker hypothesis» of Antonio Damasio to explain how Christian affections and their positive significance for theological reflection can be understood, in that the bodily conditioned emotional markings of mental images function more properly, which enables the theologian to make more rational choices in her theological work.

Abstract:
Abstract:
Background:Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) are considered the gold standard in clinical research. Their results, however, may not be generalizable to patients in routine care.1Together with methotrexate, glucocorticoids (GCs) constitute the mainstay of therapy for many patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), but it is unclear whether trial evidence is actually generalizable to real-world patients. Objectives:This review assesses to what extent RA patients participating in GC-RCTs differ from RA patients taking GCs in routine care. Methods:This study was registered with PROSPERO (CRD42019134675). MEDLINE was searched for RCTs and, as comparators, cohort studies in RA evaluating systemic GC therapy. Cohorts were not allowed to exhibit apparent selection mechanisms concerning gender or age. Random-effects meta-analyses combined descriptive baseline characteristics that may modify the benefit-risk-ratio of various RA therapeutics. Meta-analyses were stratified by study type (RCT and CS). Stratified estimates were subsequently compared.Results:55 RCTs and ten cohort studies (21,657 participants overall) were included. Twelve characteristics (related to general demographics and disease activity) were reported frequently enough to allow for comparative analysis. Compared to cohorts, RCT participants were younger (-4.7 [-7.2 to -2.1] years) and had somewhat higher erythrocyte sedimentation rates (12 [6 to 18] mm/h) (Table 1). In the other ten characteristics, estimates did not differ significantly. Numerically, cohort patients had more longstanding disease and slightly more favourable disease levels in core set variables. Comorbidities could not be assessed.Table 1.Pooled estimatesOutcomeRCTkCohortkContrast(95% CI)pGeneral demographics Age (years)54.25058.910–4.7(–7.2 to –2.1)<0.001 Female (proportion)0.70520.73100.89(0.68 to 1.16)0.38 Current or previous smokers (proportion)0.5930.5121.38(0.61 to 3.14)0.44 BMI (kg/m2)25.9525.930.0(–1.9 to 1.9)0.98 Disease duration (months)56.54385.17–28.6(–85.6 to 28.4)0.33Disease activity ESR (mm/h)40.13128.2311.8(5.7 to 18.0)<0.001 DAS5.3244.950.4(–0.1 to 0.9)0.12 RF+, (proportion)0.67320.6361.19(0.80 to 1.78)0.39 ACPA+, (proportion)0.6470.5631.38(0.64 to 3.00)0.41 HAQ1.3311.140.2(–0.1 to 0.5)0.15 Pain (0-10)5.2264.820.4(–0.8 to 1.6)0.52 Patient global assessment (0-10)5.2174.930.3(–0.9 to 1.5)0.58Conclusion:The results of our study suggest that evidence from RA GC-RCTs can be generalized to most patients in routine practice. We note that comorbidities – a frequent exclusion criterion for trial participation – could not be evaluated due to insufficient reporting. Our findings contrast with a similar study on RCTs investigating biologics in RA: There, trial participants were found to differ significantly in 4 out of 8 investigated baseline characteristics.2References:1]Palmowski A et al. Abstract:
The title of this research is : A PRAGMATIC ANALYSIS ON METAPHORSON CIGARETTE ADVERTISEMENTS. The objective of this study is to analyse the use of metaphor in cigarette advertisement in the view off pragmatic. This is due to the cigarette advertisement is not allowed to advertise their products because cigarette is very dangerous for the cobsumer's health. Therefore, the advertisers use metaphors to hide the real meanings. Thus, teenagers or youths will find difficulties in interpreting the meanings of metaphors used in cigarettes advertisement. This is qualitative research, therefore, it uses descriptive methods using the theories of Yule's, Levinson's, and Thomas. Yules's and Thomas describe about the functions of the illocutionary force of the speech acts; while Nielson and Storik describe the classification of metaphors, added by Levinson's theory that describes about kinds of metaphors and the way too interpret their meanings. After the analysis was executed, the writer found that directives and reoresentatives are mostly used in cigarette advertisement, while in the classification of metaphors, personification are mostly used and kind of metaphors that are mostly used in cigarette advertisement are nominal metaphors.

Abstract:
Thomas Riis: The murder of King Erik VIn November 1286 King Erik V of Denmark was murdered, but still today the murderer remains unknown. In literature the marshal Stig Andersen is the person who is most frequently mentioned as the possible murderer; with nine more he was accused and convicted for the murder. Historians agree that the trial was unfair, but no consensus has been found as to the identity of the murderer. In literature Stig wanted revenge, because the king had seduced his wife, but this explication has not been borne out by the sources. A murder for political reasons cannot be excluded, for this reason the article tries for the first time to reconstruct the political groupings during the reign of Erik V. As most royal charters mention a number of witnesses to the act and to the setting up of the charter, we can see which persons belong to the king’s entourage. Moreover, the systematic study of Eric V’s charters allows us to distinguish phases of his reign characterized by certain policies. Perhaps because of the conflict between king and archbishop in the 1250s, his father Christopher I had fairly often convoked the parliament, and when in 1266 Erik came of age, he continued this practice, at least for some years. His mother Margaret, who had been one of Denmark’s leaders during Erik’s minority, was made Lady of Estonia, which meant that she continued to play a political role. Like her late husband Christopher I, she wanted to continue the strong central government of Valdemar II (1202–1241), thus in the 1270s the parliament was convoked only in 1276. In order to invite its members to recognize the king’s two year old son Erik as heir apparent, the government proposed a statute with rules for the relations between the feudal lords (king, bishops, secular magnates) and their vassals, but it fell in parliament. Further, the marshal Stig refused to recognize the little prince as future king, because his father was still alive. Stig had to leave the government for some years, and with the new seneschal Peder Nielsen Hoseøl from 1279 the partisans of a strong government strengthened their hold on political affairs. Some years later opposition appeared to have grown, and in 1281, Stig Andersen was back in his former office as marshal. This was not enough to satisfy the opposition; in 1282, the Queen Mother left the government and statutes were voted, which laid down the rules for future political collaboration. Parliament should be convoked once a year, and a habeas corpus clause was introduced. The question of public finance forms a trend in Danish politics since the middle of the thirteenth century. Ecclesiastical exemptions from royal taxes and other duties had become so extensive that from a government point of view they had become a political problem. To this came further two questions, which Erik V’s government had inherited from its predecessors. Valdemar II had provided for his younger sons by the creation of fiefs: the duchies of Schleswig and of Blekinge, the county of North Halland. Legally, the feudal lord was not obliged to give the fief to the vassal’s heir, but obviously, the descendants wanted to take over their father’s or grandfather’s fief. In the end, it was a question whether or not the government was strong enough to withdraw the fiefs.A further problem was the inheritance of Erik V’s cousins, the four daughters of his uncle Erik IV (1241–1250). It was obvious that the four princesses had a right to the inheritance after their father, but the government tried to prevent or at least to limit the payment of their inheritance as far as possible. In this it had been successful in the 1260s and 1270s; probably the proposed (but fallen) statute of 1276, Stig Andersen’s reappointment as marshal in 1281, the elimination of the Queen Mother from government, the statutes of 1282 should all be seen as attempts to accommodate the opposition without yielding in the important questions of the fiefs and the princesses’ inheritance. Seneschal Peder’s government also gave a limited political influence to the heirs of some of the vassals. Its restrictive policy could not be maintained, a new government was formed that was to lead a policy of fulfilment; in 1283–1284 the descendants of the vassals were infeft with the duchies of Schleswig and South Halland (in stead of Blekinge) and the county of North Halland. In 1284 a jury recognized the four princesses’ right to their paternal inheritance. On the whole, the years between 1283 and 1286 were characterized by the cooperation between the king, the government and the parliament, but in November 1286 the king was murdered.A new government was formed under the former seneschal Peder; in it none of the leading members of the previous government had a seat. With nine others Stig Andersen was accused and convicted as murderers of Erik V.The alleged murderers appear to have supported the previous government and for this reason it is very unlikely that they should have killed the king with whom they had led the policy of fulfilment. For its opponents this must have been considered a most dangerous sale of the state’s interests; could the king be removed, a minority government would have to be formed and with the right persons in office one could return to the policy led before 1282. Consequently the motif of the murder was the abandonment of the fulfilment policy and the return to the restrictive policy. Its protagonist was the seneschal Peder Nielsen Hoseøl; probably, then, he was the instigator of Erik V’s murder.

Abstract:
Kære læser, Den 17. oktober 2006 udkom Tidsskrift for Islamforskning for første gang. Jubilæumsnummeret er herefter delt i to dele.

Abstract:
This study focuses on the relationship between the doctrines of the Incarnation and the Ascension of Jesus Christ, which often does not receive adequate attention in contemporary theology. The problem of separating the two doctrines is solved by re-examining the doctrine of the hypostatic union of Christ in the Lutheran and Calvinist traditions. Analytical and comparative approaches to the two traditions are undertaken to clearly show the tensions that arise and the possibility of imaginatively and faithfully linking the Incarnation and the Ascension. The study of these two models is furthered by comparing the two contemporary responses of the two traditions, one by Thomas Torrance and another by Niels Gregersen, that results in two ways of understanding Ascension, both as a reversal and as an extension.

Abstract:
FQ editor-in-chief B. Ruby Rich presents her take on the online/hybrid Sundance Film Festival 2021. She notes the various ways in which the festival attempted to transfer the in-person experience to the at-home screen, including post-screening Q&As, a virtual lounge, online panels and “conversations,” and a VR interface for the New Frontier offerings. She appreciated that the online architecture allowed for a sequencing of events that eliminated her usual fear of “missing” an essential film. As has often been her experience at Sundance, she found the documentaries to be of greater interest than the fiction films, with entries from Europe being particularly strong. Festival highlights that she discusses include Summer of Soul (… Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised by Questlove (Ahmir Khalib Thompson), My Name is Pauli Murray (Betsy West and Judy Cohen), Hive (Blerta Basholli), El Planeta (Amalia Ulman), Flee (Jonas Poher Rasmussen), President (Camilla Nielsson), and Writing by Fire (Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh), all from 2021.
