Abstract:
Software piracy, the illegal and unauthorized duplication, sale, or distribution of software, is a widespread and costly phenomenon. According to the Business Software Alliance, more than one third of the PC software packages installed worldwide in 2006 were unauthorized copies. This behavior costs the software industry billions of lost dollars in revenue annually. Software piracy behavior has been investigated for more than thirty years. However, there are two voids in the literature: lack of studies in Non-Western countries and scarcity of process studies. As such, this study contributes to the literature by developing a software piracy model to understand the decision making process that underlies this illegal behavior among Jordanian university students. Based on a literature review in various disciplines, including social psychology, psychology, and criminology, several important variables have been incorporated into the proposed model. The model was tested using data collected from a sample of 323 undergraduate business students. The resulting data was analyzed by two main statistical techniques, structural equation modeling (SEM) and hierarchical multiple regression. The results indicated that the model was useful in predicting students' intention to pirate software. Seven out of eight hypotheses were supported. Consistent with The Theory of Reasoned Action, attitudes toward software piracy and subjective norms were significant predictors of intention to pirate software. However, our findings are inconsistent with previous studies with regard to the relative importance of attitude and subjective norms; subjective norms had a stronger effect. Also, the results suggested that ethical ideology, public self-consciousness, and low self-control moderated the effect of these variables on intention to pirate software. Lastly, the results indicated that the effect of subjective norms on afintention to pirate software was both direct and indirect through attitudes. The results have important practical implications for the software industry and governments to curtail software piracy. Limitations of the study and recommendations for future studies are discussed as well.

Venegoni, Sandra L. "Geriatic Nurse Practitioner's Health Promotive Behaviors: A Test of Theory of Reasoned Action." VCU Scholars Compass, 1991. http://scholarscompass.vcu.edu/etd/4321.

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of this investigation was to develop an instrument to test the theory of reasoned action (Fishbein & Ajzen, 1975) in a new behavioral domain the health promotive behaviors of geriatric nurse practitioners (GNPs). The two behavioral categories included in the study were health assessment and health teaching, each with its individual index of actions. A questionnaire was developed to examine the beliefs of a sample of 200 certified geriatric nurse practitioners and to test the relationships of the theoretical model. Names of the subjects were randomly selected from the American Nurses' Association 1989 list of certified GNPs. Ninety-four returned questionnaires were included in the data analyses. Data analysis included frequency of demographic attributes, correlation, stepwise multiple regression, and factor analysis. Estimation of validity and reliability of the instrument were sufficient to warrant reuse of the instrument. As a homogeneous group, the geriatric nurse practitioners shared strong personal and social beliefs about carrying out health promotive behaviors with older clients. They perceived that important others in the organization think the GNP should carry out health assessment and health teaching with clients. The theory was partially supported in the investigation. Intention was a determinant of behavior in both categories. Attitude was a more significant predictor of intent to carry out behavior than were the perceived social pressures. Motivation to comply with important others was not a determinant of the subjective norm. Results from this study hold implications for both nurse educators, clinicians and health care administrators. In a period when reimbursement for nurse practitioners and cost containment have become realities in the health care system, a GNP who carries out health promotive behaviors with the ever increasing number of elderly clients will be a desirable asset in any health care system.

Ortega, Johis. "Applying Ecodevelopmental Theory and the Theory of Reasoned Action to Understand HIV Risk Behaviors among Hispanic Adolescents." Scholarly Repository, 2010. http://scholarlyrepository.miami.edu/oa_dissertations/489.

Full text
Abstract:
The number of adolescents in the U.S. who engage in risk behaviors such as alcohol and drug use and unsafe sexual practices has reached alarming levels, with Hispanic adolescents in particular reporting high rates of substance use and sexual activity. This study explored risk and protective factors that influence high-risk behaviors in Hispanic adolescents. A theoretical model was developed based on an integration of Ecodevelopmental Theory and the Theory of Reasoned Action to investigate individual and social factors that affect the risk behaviors of Hispanic adolescents. This study was a cross-sectional, descriptive, secondary investigation of the baseline data of a combined sample of 493 Hispanic adolescent 7th and 8th graders and their immigrant parents who had been recruited for participation in the Familias Efficacy I and II studies. The hypothesized model of relationships included 3 direct effects variables: parent-adolescent communication about sex; adolescent condom use self-efficacy; and family functioning, which integrated 4 constructs: parental involvement; positive parenting; family communication; and parent-adolescent communication. The study model also included 3 indirect variables: parents' acculturation; differential acculturation; and parent's HIV knowledge. Three adolescent risk behaviors served as outcome variables: condom use; drinking alcohol while having sex ; and substance use. It was hypothesized that (1) family functioning, parent-adolescent communication about sex, and adolescent self efficacy would all be directly related to adolescent risk behaviors; (2) parent's acculturation would be related to adolescent risk behaviors indirectly through its association with parent's HIV knowledge and parent-adolescent communication about sex; and (3) differential acculturation would be related to adolescent risk behaviors indirectly through its association with family functioning, adolescent condom use self-efficacy, and parent-adolescent communication about sex. Cronbach's alpha computed for all measures yielded good to excellent reliability coefficients. Pearson linear correlation coefficients were calculated between all of the study variables, followed by confirmatory factor analysis to ascertain the feasibility of collapsing multiple indicators of family functioning and HIV/STIs risk behaviors into single latent variables. Finally, the hypothesized structural equation model was estimated. Beta coefficients were calculated to examine direct effects and Mackinnon's asymmetric distribution of product test was used to evaluate mediated effects. Data analysis failed to confirm any of the study hypotheses; however, post-hoc analyses yielded findings that merit further study. Family functioning emerged as the heart of the model, embedded within a web of direct and mediated relationships. Additional findings suggest that family functioning mediates the effect of parents' acculturation and of parents' HIV knowledge on adolescent risk behaviors. Study limitations include its cross-sectional design, self-report measures, convenience sample and integration of clinical and non-clinical samples. Suggestions are provided for researchers to further explore relationships among the variables, and recommendations made for community nursing practitioners to develop, implement and evaluate HIV/STIs prevention programs for Hispanic adolescents.

Galper, Daniel I. "Understanding the motivation to use anabolic steroids: an application of the theory of reasoned action." Thesis, Virginia Tech, 1995. http://hdl.handle.net/10919/41941.

Full text
Abstract:

The nonmedical use of anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS) is an emerging public health concern. Despite a recent call for AAS prevention by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (Lin & Erinoff, 1990), little theory-based research has been conducted on the etiology of AAS use. In the present study, the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) was used as a model for understanding and explaining the psychosocial factors which motivate weightlifters to use AAS.

One-hundred-three male weightlifters (mean age = 23.3 years, range 18-39) completed a survey that assessed past drug use (including past AAS use) and constructs relevant to the TRA: attitudes about personal AAS use, subjective norms regarding personal AAS use, and intentions to use AAS over the next year. In addition, perceived behavioral control was assessed and the TRA was compared to the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB).

Overall, seventeen (16.50/0) of participants reported the past use of AAS and nine (8.7%) reported the intention to use AAS at sometime over the next year. Multiple regression (MR) analyses revealed that respondents' attitudes (Beta = .72, D, < .001) towards personal AAS use significantly predicted AAS intentions and explained 55% of the variability in the intention to use AAS (i.e., R2 = .55). Further, when perceived behavioral control (PBC) was added to the model, both attitudes (Beta=.54, D,<.001) and PBC (Beta =-.37, D,<.001) were significant predictors of AAS intentions. With respect to other drug use behaviors, the past use of AAS was not significantly correlated with the use of alcohol, cigarettes, chewing tobacco, marijuana, or cocaine. Similar results were found for an adolescent sub-sample of 59 male weightlifters (Mean age = 19.9).

These results provided strong support for the TRA (TPB) as an accurate model for explaining male weightlifters' motivation (intentions) to use AAS. Implications for the primary prevention of AAS based on these models are discussed in detail.

Hoang, Thu Gia. "Reconceptualizing Organizational Commitment Using the Theory of Reasoned Action: Testing Antecedents of Multiple Organizational Behaviors." PDXScholar, 2012. https://pdxscholar.library.pdx.edu/open_access_etds/109.

Full text
Abstract:
The Three-Component Model of organizational commitment (TCM) by Meyer and Allen (1991, 1997) is widely regarded as the most dominant model in organizational commitment research (Cohen, 2003, 2007). However, recent research by Solinger et al. (2008) questioned the legitimacy of the TCM as a general model of organizational commitment. More specifically, the authors criticized the TCM for grouping affective commitment as an attitude toward target with continuance and normative commitment as attitudes toward behaviors under one general label of attitudinal construct. Based on the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA; Ajzen & Fishbein, 1980), Solinger et al. (2008) argued that we should consider organizational commitment strictly as an attitude toward the organization (i.e., affective commitment). Based on Eagly and Chaiken's (1993) composite attitude-behavior model, the current study tested the reconceptualization of organizational commitment as a unidimensional construct reflecting employees' attitudes toward the organization (i.e., affective commitment) in predicting several organizational behaviors (i.e., considerate voice, production deviance, and behavioral engagement). In addition, I also investigated whether these organizational behaviors could be better explained by adding different classes of behavioral expectancies (i.e., utilitarian, normative and self-identity expectancies) as antecedents. Finally, I tested the mediating roles of attitude toward behaviors in the relationship between affective commitment and three behavioral expectancies and the three organizational behaviors. A sample of 258 employees in a large-sized organization in China was obtained for this study. The results suggested that none of the hypotheses of the current study was supported by the evidence in the current study. In particular, affective commitment and three classes of behavioral expectancies did not significantly predict their corresponding behaviors. In addition, I also did not find the evidence for the indirect effects from affective commitment and the behavioral expectancies on the behaviors. Several alternative explanations were provided for the results. Among those, the lack of compatibility between affective commitment and the behaviors, the existence of moderators (e.g. national culture), the lack of necessary control to perform the behaviors successfully are key factors that might lead to the current findings. Although none of the hypotheses was supported, I found limited empirical supports for the reconceptualization of organizational commitment strictly as the attitude toward the organization and that organizational behaviors could be better explained by adding appropriate behavioral expectancies to the model (Solinger et al., 2008). Finally, theoretical and practical implications of the current study as well as directions for future research are discussed.

Gallant, Ashleigh. "Communication Behavior Study of Support in the Arts Using the Situational Theory of Publics and the Theory of Reasoned Action." Scholar Commons, 2014. https://scholarcommons.usf.edu/etd/5023.

Full text
Abstract:
The Arts in the United States has been a thoroughly studied topic, largely trying to substantiate its value to society, resulting in a plethora of research that positively correlates the arts and a more healthy and successful society. Findings from various studies over the years have shown declines in arts support in the form of funding, advocacy, education, and participation (National Endowment for the Arts, 2009). Additional studies have suggested that millennials are redefining what participation means in the arts, and even the definition of the arts. The primary research question of this study is why are support for the arts declining? This study reviews the industry, the current definition of the arts and how two theories could help examine the question. The mass communications theory, the Situational Theory of Publics and the psychology theory, the Theory of Reasoned Action, were chosen to learn more about communication behavior toward arts support. The variables were examined within a proposed model. The data suggested that low problem recognition toward the arts in this sample was an integral factor. A key finding of the study was that respondents who value arts support may be more likely to behave. An experiment to test the model would be the next best step for research.

Adams, Mollie. "An Examination of the Effectiveness of Sanction Based Tax Compliance Persuasive Messages over Repeated Periods." Diss., Virginia Tech, 2010. http://hdl.handle.net/10919/37500.

Full text
Abstract:
Prior tax compliance literature has examined the use of persuasive messages that emphasize audit and sanctions as a way to increase compliance. This work has been done in single period experiments using either survey or field study methodologies. Results from the prior studies are mixed. The theory of reasoned action is a theory of social behavior that promotes emphasizing direct consequences of actions to motivate specific behavior. Persuasive messages based on this theory have been found to be effective in a number of different disciplines. The theory of reasoned action has been used in the field of tax compliance to explain compliance behavior and examine the behavioral beliefs related to compliant reporting, but has not been used to design persuasive messages aimed at increasing compliance. In this dissertation, I conduct a laboratory experiment that examines the effects of two types of messages - a traditional message consisting of a simple reminder of audit risk and a message designed based on the theory of reasoned action. Consistent with prior research on tax compliance, I test the messages in an initial single period but I extend prior research by also examining the effects of the messages over repeated periods. Neither the traditional message nor the message based on the theory of reasoned action have a significant effect on initial period compliance. The interaction effect of the traditional message and time on tax compliance is positive and significant and the interaction effect of the theory of reasoned action message and time on tax compliance is positive and marginally significant. These results provide evidence that the messages may be effective in increasing an individual's tax compliance over time. In the repeated period data, the theory of reasoned action message exhibits a positive and significant impact on the amount of income reported when an individual reports less than 100% of their earned income, providing evidence that messages designed based on the theory of reasoned action may be an effective tool in reducing the tax gap.

Farron, Susan E. "A study of the adoption of information technology by end-users : testing an extended Theory of Reasoned Action." Thesis, University of Central Lancashire, 1996. http://clok.uclan.ac.uk/1891/.

Full text
Abstract:
The original intention of the study was to replicate Moore & Benbasat's model of information technology adoption (I990a, b,; 1991ab,) which fused two established theories, the Diffusion of Innovations (Rogers, 1962) and the Theory of Reasoned Action (Fishbcin & Ajzcn, 1975), an attitude-behaviour theory. Flaws were found in the construction and application of the model, most notably in relation to the origin of belief statements used on their instrument. Nevertheless, the overall aims of their study were thought to be worthwhile. A literature survey provided an understanding of the study context, the historical background of the Theory of Reasoned Action and the manner in which the Theory has been applied and adapted. Evidently, volitional control is a pertinent factor in organisational studies yet existing extensions of the Theory of Reasoned Action which attend to volitional control were found to be imperfect for applications in organisations. A new model was developed by the author for the purpose of predicting and explaining I.T. innovation behaviours in organisations. The model was tested on employees of the University of Central Lancashire, first by qualitatively eliciting and grouping salient beliefs and secondly through a quantitative survey of randomly selected individuals. Findings from the survey data were variable. The act-specific part of the model had predictive power, and this improved with the addition and substitution of determinants. On the other hand, problems were found with the general organisational constructs; factors contributing to the predictive weakness here have been identified. An examination of underlying belief structures provides information for implementers. Recommendations arc made for intervention communications relating to I. T. implementations. The development of organisational and control belief structures is proposed to provide a diagnostic tool for supplementary use where organisations wish to qualitatively judge the 'temperature', or alternatively to administer a quantitative study of employee satisfaction - these, without prejudice to the claims for the extended model. The author stands by the theory and recommends a course whereby the model is expected to hold.

Full text
Abstract:
Today, intrauterine devices (IUDs) are used by over 100 million women worldwide, making it the most popular reversible method of birth control. Approximately only 2% of American women, however, choose to use this method of birth control. The purpose of this study was to explore clinical services providers' (CSP) behavioral intention to provide the IUD. An instrument based on the theory of reasoned action (TRA) surveyed National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health (NPWH). A total of 695 participants appropriately completed the survey, resulting in approximately a 30% response rate. Pearson Product Moment Correlations assessed the linear relationship(s) among summed scales and individual instrument items. Hierarchical regression identified the level of variance accounted for by TRA scales and the knowledge scale. Consistent with TRA tenets, statistically significant associations were found among TRA constructs and behavioral intention; whereas knowledge, while a statistically significantly correlated variable with behavioral intention, was not a predictor of behavioral intention. Future research should continue to explore factors of IUDs use, including those not a part of TRA. Health educators should plan programs to assist in health information delivery, and develop social marketing campaigns to help women seeking family planning services become effective consumers of health information about IUDs.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to measure whether an after-school environmental education program based on modified Project Wild materials, positively impacted third graders environmental knowledge, attitudes and behavioral intentions. Eight lesson plans were developed, piloted and re-designed over a one year period and then delivered to third graders for a total of eight weeks in a fall semester. The lessons included units on water, air, land, recycling, insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. A pre-post test retrospective questionnaire was developed to determine changes in the participant's knowledge, attitudes and behavioral intentions as a result of participating in the program. Results indicate positive shifts in knowledge and changes in environmental attitudes and behavioral intentions. Recommendations were also made for future studies.

Welschen, Judith Elisabeth. "An investigation of the impact of extrinsic and intrinsic motivators on organisational knowledge sharing." Thesis, University of Canterbury. School of Business and Economics, 2014. http://hdl.handle.net/10092/9214.

Full text
Abstract:
A major challenge for knowledge management concerns motivating people to share their knowledge with others. Many companies address this challenge by implementing sophisticated knowledge management systems. However, despite investments in knowledge management systems and practices, significant failure rates are being reported. Studies show that an important reason for this is that people are often reluctant to share their personal knowledge. It is therefore key for companies to understand the factors that influence employee attitudes toward knowledge sharing. Previous research on motivation has attempted to understand employee attitudes, intentions and behavior in relation to organizational knowledge sharing. However, few studies have provided a comprehensive model that includes a key set of extrinsic and intrinsic motivators for knowledge sharing, such as self-efficacy, meaningfulness, impact, tangible rewards, verbal rewards, anticipated reciprocal benefits and reputation and examined their relationship with knowledge sharing attitude and intention. The objective of this research is to fill that gap by investigating how the salient intrinsic and extrinsic motivators influence knowledge sharing attitude and intention. From an extensive review of the literature, a research model was proposed and hypotheses were developed to explore the answers to the research questions. Data was collected through a survey in organizations in New Zealand and Partial Least Squares Path Modeling was used to analyze the data. Empirical results showed intention to share knowledge was determined by attitude towards knowledge sharing and self-efficacy, meaningfulness, anticipated reciprocal relationships and reputation had a significant impact on the attitude towards knowledge sharing. This research contributes to the knowledge sharing literature by providing a comprehensive model of knowledge sharing motivators, including motivators that have been largely ignored in prior studies, and by empirically examining the influence of the key intrinsic and extrinsic motivators on attitude towards knowledge sharing. Furthermore, this research benefits companies that are using or setting up knowledge management systems and practices by allowing them to better understand how to encourage employees to engage in knowledge sharing.

Abstract:
Research question: To what extent is there a correlation between consumers living in Sweden and their green purchase intention during an ongoing crisis? Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine consumers living in Sweden and their green purchase intention during an ongoing crisis. This to clarify and analyze the subject as well as contribute with further knowledge. Method: A quantitive approach with a cross-sectional design has been used for this study. Web-based surveys were used to collect the primary data. To increase the validity of this study, the survey questions were formed after previous research. Furthermore, a pilot-study was conducted prior to the publication of the survey. The total sample-size included 354 respondents, of which 6 were not in the criteria-range. Conclusion: The study showed that there was a correlation between Swedish consumers and their green purchase intention during an ongoing crisis. It emerged that socio-demographic attributes did not correlate with green purchase intention, with the exception of gender. However, there was a correlation between attitude towards behavior, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control towards green purchase intention during an ongoing crisis. The respondents showed a positive attitude towards green purchase intention, which can be based on an upward trend towards a sustainable lifestyle that has emerged prior to the crisis and an increase in green alternatives in stores. Furthermore, the crisis may also have given consumers space to review their habits and therefore their green intentions.

Abstract:
This research was conducted to provide insights into the factors that influence consumer’s decision when choosing a channel to remit. The study looked at the following theories in determining the important factors that influence consumer intention or behavior, Theory of Reason Action, Theory of Planned Action, Remittance, Innovation Diffusion and Technology Acceptance Models. Hence, service providers should be aware of these factors so they can develop strategies and services to attract consumers to use their channels. The aim of the study was to determine which factors influence consumer’s decision in choosing a bank and non-bank channel to remit. The investigation of the key factors that influence the decision or intention, it was found that a single factor influenced the decision to remit in a bank and non-bank channel. It was also found in the study that consumers prefer physical channel of both bank and non-bank to remit. The finding has serious implications for service providers, in that consumer behavior show attachment to traditional distribution channels.

McKnight, Hannah Jane. "Organic Milk: Consumers and their purchasing patterns." Thesis, Virginia Tech, 2007. http://hdl.handle.net/10919/35033.

Full text
Abstract:
This study was designed to characterize consumer purchases of organic milk by differentiating consumers based on buying behavior and then evaluating what personal and household characteristics were most prominent in each group. Cluster analysis was used to differentiate four groups of consumers based on their total volume of milk purchases, percentage of organic milk purchases, and frequency of milk purchases. The clusters were then characterized based on household size, household income, age of children, race, Hispanic origin, and head of householdâ s age, education, occupation, and gender. Regression analysis then estimated the effects of the socio-demographic variables on cluster membership. Results were consistent with existing literature. Those who purchased the most organic milk were females with a small household, families consisting of one or two members, or larger families, usually four. These two groups of consumers differentiated themselves from one another and from the other two clusters that purchased less organic milk with larger families purchasing more milk, but a smaller percentage of organic milk purchases. The results of identifying consumers based on their milk buying behavior can be used by marketers and educators to target individuals, based on group membership, for planning and guiding education and advertising campaigns and programs.

Abstract:
This cross-sectional study examined whether the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) apply to psychologists’ openness to using telepsychology, and to identify significant personal or environmental predictors of telepsychology adoption. A total of 1,791 licensed psychologists currently practicing psychotherapy in the United States were recruited to complete a previously developed 21-item pool. Personal and environmental characteristics were also collected. Path models representing the TRA, TAM, and a hybrid of both were tested. Also, a logistic regression was used to identify personal and environmental predictors of current use of telepsychology. Results indicated the TRA and TAM were a poor fit for modeling psychologists’ openness to using telepsychology. Adequate fit was found with a third model in which the perceived attitudes of others concerning telepsychology were associated with the perceived ease of use and usefulness of telepsychology. Perceived ease of use and usefulness of telepsychology were both uniquely associated with current use of telepsychology. Receiving telepsychology training, organizational policies concerning the use of telepsychology, treatment emphases, treatment setting, and practicing within a rural area were significant predictors of current use; however, individual characteristics such as age, race/ethnicity, and years of practice were not. Organizations interested in encouraging psychologists to adopt telepsychology should create policies supporting the use of telepsychology and provide adequate training. Government and regulatory entities seeking to ensure treatment for individuals currently restricted from mental health services by time or geography should create clear and consistent laws permitting and governing the use of telepsychology.

Mobile devices become more and more popular, Alibaba which is a quite substantial business, drives the growth of the Internet, and e-Commerce also gets a significant growth. All these factors make "Responsive Web Design" and "Web Application" become a trend. The most important thing is these technology can accelerate App developing, and solve problems of systems or post news immediately. Therefore, except attracting user to install Apps and upgrating user's intention of use, we should avoid the havior of remove the Apps in practice. And then continuing to notice the important information, or upgrate the version to improve the experience of use to enhance user's attachment. This is also an interesting issue. Based on Theory of Reasoned Action, I add factors include Perceived Risk, Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Compatibility in this scale, to analysis the relationship of impacting on Removal Intention and Removal Behavior. Besides concerning the behavior of user, also expecting to be beneficial to personal job. we can grasp the reason of removal apps, that makes us to avoid to make mistake and improving our capability and experience.

The Groupon has been a trend in recent two years in Internet. Compared with traditional group-buying, Groupon platform can provide the cheaper price (about 50% off), and a variety of goods to consumers. However, most stores which utilize Groupon as a tool of promotion are established in recent years and don’t have high awareness among consumers. Because of low awareness and safety of these stores, consumers have to take more risks in consuming process, especially when the conflicts continue to happen (ex: the event of Valentine’s Days in Hong Kong and the event of the new year’s dishes in Japan). Although the dispute still happens between the consumers and sellers, the consumers' passion for shopping in the Groupon platform will never diminish. We can also see that a lot of people purchase products in Groupon platform. This condition is an important point in our study, and we would like to why consumers want to buy products in high risky consuming environment such as Groupon platform. The purpose of this study is to explore whether the variables of behavioral attitudes and social norms will influence consumer’s purchased intention. According to Shimp & Kavas’s research(1984), the theory of planned behavior is the main research structure in our study. In addition, we also take Price Consciousness, Utilitarian Value, Hedonic Value, Perceived Risk, Perceived Trust, Perceived Population, and Conformity Intention in our study, representing the attitudes toward trying and the expectation of success. The results shows that when consumers are sensitive to the prices of products, the lower price will increase consumers' trust in the Groupon platform. Consumers with high conformity intention will also positively influence consumers' trust in the Groupon platform. In addition, the perceived population positively influence consumers' trust in the Groupon platform. Finally, consumers' perceived risks and hemdonic value will positively influence the behavioral attitudes of consumers.

At the early stage of development, tourism factories were the solution to the problems of idle factories and diversifying human resources which were caused by global economic issues. Up to recent years, these factories have become unique combinations of the historic manufacturing industry and localized culture features. Nowadays, firms are searching for means to increase their profits while promoting the awareness of tourism factories. For this reason, this paper focuses on the analysis of consumers’ revisit intentions. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the influence of subjective norms and flow experience on revisit intentions and the moderating effects of the subjective norms and flow experience on consumers’ revisit intentions. The research objects of this paper are the consumers that, for the past six months, have visited the “Foodstuff” series of the tourism factories in Taiwan. By conducting questionnaires on twenty-two tourism factories in northern, central and southern Taiwan, this paper analyzes how consumers’ subjective norms and the flow experience affect revisit intentions and how consumers’ level of involvement during the visit affect their revisit intentions. The analysis shows that, when the level of flow experience becomes more desirable, the consumers’ revisit intentions to the tourism factories increase. Subjective norm - informational, flow experience, enough to directly enhance consumer`s revisit intentions. As consumers higher degree of involvement in tourism factory, they will be more willing to enhance any informational influences to revisit intentions by the subjective norms, and they will be more willing to enhance influences to revisit intentions by flow experience. However, the direct impacts of subjective norms on revisit intentions are not significant. As a result, businesses can improve consumers’ flow experiences not only to increase their revisit intentions but also to stimulate their involvement and willingness of absorbing any information presented.

With the gradual improved life quality, consumers pay more attention on daily food, especially after the splash news concerned with the dishonest merchandise on the market. Natural, organic food has been popular these recent years due to the fact that organic food does less harm to the nature environment. Based on Theory of Reasoned Action, this research focuses on the repurchase intention to organic food of the consumers. This thesis uses questionnaires to examine consumers’ purchase experience on organic food. The statistical techniques adopt descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and structural equation modeling (SEM). This research achieves five results. First of all, consumers’ purchase attitude is enhanced by perceived price. Second, consumers’ perceived value is enhanced by their purchase attitude. Furthermore, Consumers’ purchase attitude enhances their purchase intention. Fourth, subjective norms enhances consumers’ purchase intention. Last, the purchase intention enhances consumers’ repurchase intention. Above all, the effect based on the intention of purchasing organic food positively influences the intention of repurchasing organic food.

Retirement pension became a hot topic nowadays. Subject to the WHO (World Health Organization), senile country is defined that more than 7% of country population with age over 65 years old. Taiwan has reached this criterion in 2005 as being one of senile countries. The Department of Manpower Planning of the Council for Economic Planning and Development of Executive Yuan estimated that Taiwan’s ageing index will be close to 100% in 2015 due to declining fertility and rapid ageing population in recent years. Furthermore, the older population was forecasted to gradually surpass childhood population, and the population ageing index will reach 441.8% in 2060, which implied older population will be four times of juvenile population (Hou Xiuwen, 2012). This study is based on the Theory of Reasoned Action with purposive sampling, and got total of 334 valid questionnaires which investigated relationships among risk perception, financial attitude, subjective norm, behavior intention and investment actual behavior of investors. As the advanced age tendency, the longevity is worth to take into assessment to see if it will be positively influence by the behavioral intention and financial behavior, this study hereby took the risk of longevity as an interfered variable into evaluation. The empirical results show that financial behavior will be positively influenced by financing attitude, subjective norm and intention of financial behavior. In contrast, the longevity and high involvement will be not positively affected by financial behavior.

The purpose of this thesis is to make use of the knowledge sharing model and apply game concept into the model to clarify if employees would analyze the situation in the process of making knowledge sharing decision. Knowledge sharing model in this paper is based on the concept of Theory of Reasoned Action and Game Theory. Two models proposed in this research: Model A: Knowledge sharing process is constructed by the personal psychological feeling. Model B: Knowledge sharing process not only constructed by the personal psychological feeling but also take others’ decision into consideration. Through comparing two knowledge-sharing models’ predictable performance, the author can clarify the process of knowledge sharing. This thesis also adopts an empirical study from three high-tech companies in Taiwan. The results show that different company has different suitable model. In average, the model with game concept has lower predictive accuracy than the original model without game concept. The author provides practical implications for manager in making effective policy and also suggests future studies in areas of measurement improvement.

The study explores the adoption of an electronic government (e-government) system called online PAN card registration system (OPCRS) in context of India. The study validates the extended theory of reasoned action (TRA) to understand the impact of some of its factors on the citizen's intention to adopt this system. The proposed research model is extended with the variables including perceived usefulness, perceived trust, and self-efficacy as antecedents of attitude and subjective norm, which are the core constructs of the TRA. The eight hypotheses were formulated between six constructs of the proposed extended TRA. The proposed research model is validated using the usable sample of data gathered from 377 respondents. The data was analysed using AMOS 22.0. The empirical findings of the proposed research model indicated the significant relationships of all proposed hypotheses. The study also provides its limitations, future research directions, and implications for theory and practice toward the end.

Background: Reasoned action approach (RAA) includes subcomponents of attitude (experiential/instrumental), perceived norm (injunctive/descriptive), and perceived behavioral control (capacity/autonomy) to predict intention and behavior. Purpose: To provide a meta-analysis of the RAA for health behaviors focusing on comparing the pairs of RAA subcomponents and differences between health protection and health-risk behaviors. Methods: The present research reports a meta-analysis of correlational tests of RAA subcomponents, examination of moderators, and combined effects of subcomponents on intention and behavior. Regressions were used to predict intention and behavior based on data from studies measuring all variables.
