Abstract:
Kata kunci: ideologi, bahasa politik, analisis wacana kritis AbstractThe current study aims at: (1) to explore the ideology conceived in Soekarno’s political language as one of the nation founding fathers and the proclaimer of Indonesia independence, (2) to explore the motivations behind the birth of ideology in the language, and (3) to see the socio-cultural changes as the result of Soekarno’s political ideology. To achieve the research objectives, researcher used Critical Discourse Analysis Theory (CDA) of Fairclough (1989, 1995, 2005, 2006) as the main theory, and the theory of Ideology as a supporting theory. The method applied in data collection was documentation method, while the method applied in data analysis was descriptive qualitative method that applied based on three analysis levels of Fairclough CDA theory. The results show that the ideology contained in Soekarno’s political language is the ideology of ‘unity as an important thing’, the ideology of ‘revolution as an integral part of the Indonesian nation soul’, and the ideology of ‘imperialism as the main enemy of the Indonesia’. The ideology needs to be lived for the sake of Indonesia’s endurance, security and peace. Furthermore, the ideology is based on a plural nation state and the realization that static nature is a barrier to the progress of a nation. The ideology contents have brought changes in the way of communication and the way of Indonesian nation life. Keywords: ideology, political language, critical discourse analysis

Abstract:
This study seeks to identify and describe the distribution and formation of ideology in the short story "Sarman" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. This short story was written in 1986. This study try to discuss this problem because the characters in the short stories, with all their interactions and speech acts, represent certain ideologies. The analysis of the formation of ideology is based on Antonio Grasmsci’s theory of hegemony. This theory allows an analysis of the hegemonic practice and resistance that exists in the short story so that it can be seen the existence of interacting ideologies. Then, as a hegemonic site, literature is seen as a world of influential ideas or ideologies. Therefore, this research then identifies the distribution of ideology in short stories and finds five ideologies: anarchism, anti-materialism, individualism, materialism, and capitalism. Formation of ideology in short stories exists in three relationships: contradictory relationships, correlative relationships, and subordinative relationships. Based on the findings of the formation of ideology in the short story, then, it appears that the author's tendency to criticize some ideology.

Abstract:
Using Habermas' theory of communicative action and his remarks on the legitimacy of the state under modern social conditions as a starting point, I combine normative democratic theory with the critique of ideology. I first outline four necessary-but-not-sufficient conditions of communication for democratic decision making: such agreements must (1) be formally and procedurally correct, (2) be cognitively adequate, (3) concern issues on which consensus or compromise can be reached, and (4) be free of ideology. The first three conditions form the core of a normative democratic theory, one that is not purely procedural, as many have argued it is. I then discuss the fourth condition and establish the relation between ideology and democracy. Taken together, these conditions not only provide an answer to troubling questions for democratic theory but also delineate the extent to which politics is rational and political claims are “truthlike.”

Abstract:
The khilafah ideology is an ideology that is often interpreted as a fairly radical ideology. Generally, the ideology of the khilafah highlights political issues that are contrary to Islamic law. However, the Khilafah ideology also highlights social issues, namely LGBT. LGBT is a controversial issue globally. While the khilafah ideology is a concept that is contrary to the Indonesian state. The Indonesian government has banned the spread of the khilafah ideology. But its existence is still present in a new form such as a bulletin called KAFFAH. This study aims to describe how LGBT is represented in the perspective of khilafah. The data of this study is a KAFFAH bulletin article, 025 editions, which released on January 26, 2018. Furthermore, the data were analyzed qualitatively by descriptive analysis methods. This study uses the Transitivity theory approach as a theory which states that language is a representation of human experience. The Transitivity focuses on three components; process, participants, and circumstance. Based on the description of Transitivity, LGBT is not only represented as a social problem but also as an implication of the absence of laws that originate from Islamic law which can explicitly ensnare LGBT.

Abstract:
This article explores objections made against ideal theorizing in political philosophy by two prominent contemporary critical theorists: Axel Honneth and Charles Mills. In Freedom’s Right, Honneth situates his neo-Hegelian analysis of social freedom in opposition to contemporary political philosophy that has become ‘decoupled from an analysis of society’. Across many works, Mills has argued that ideal theorizing in political theory is not only ineffectual, but more problematically, that it is ideological in nature and serves the interests of privileged groups. I suggest that whereas Honneth’s objection to ideal theorizing hearkens back to Hegel’s critique of Kant, Mills’ objection that ideal theory is ideology hearkens back to Marx’s critique of bourgeois political philosophy in general, and Hegel’s political philosophy in particular. Against the background of these debates, I assess Honneth’s theory of social freedom according to Mills’ Marxian inspired ideology critique. I argue that while in some respects, Honneth’s theory of social freedom is a defensible project, in other respects, Mills’ critique remains instructive and allows us to see the ways in which aspects of Honneth’s theory could serve ideological functions, and thus, is not entirely successful, either as a piece of critical theory or as an alternative to ideal theory.
