Abstract:
Our previous studies have shown the presence of daytime positive electron density disturb-ances during several days after the start of the recovery phase. The aim of this paper is to study after-effects of geomagnetic storms (after-storm effects), i.e. ionospher-ic effects observed on the 3–5th day after the beginning of the storm recovery phase. From numerical calcula-tions with the GSM TIP model, we have found the main mechanisms for the formation of the after-storm effects. Using Irkutsk (52° N, 104° E) and Kaliningrad (54° N, 20° E) ionosonde data, we have carried out a statistical analysis of daytime ionospheric responses to geomagnetic storms. As a result of the analysis, we obtained averaged ionospheric responses at the beginning of the storm recovery phase and for five consecutive days. The statistical analysis results received near the beginning of the recovery phase are in good agreement with the well-known ionospheric effects of geomagnetic storms obtained in previous studies. For the first time, the obtained statistics of iono-spheric responses observed on the 3–5th day after the beginning of the recovery phase allowed us to reveal the dependence of after-storm ionospheric effects on season, storm intensity, and ionosonde geomagnetic latitude. In addition, we for the first time present the interpretation of after-storm ionospheric effects from numerical simulation results.

Abstract:
This paper presents theoretical considerations and working parameters analyzes of hydrotransport during unstable flow. The variable flow of hydraulic mixture in installations causes unsteady operation and pipes spraying, pump damage, obturation in various sections of the pipeline, reduced capacity as well as higher operating costs. Using mathematical equations presented in this paper, such parameters of the hydraulic mixture, hydrotransport installation and control devices can be determined which protect system from possible clogging. Considering the fact that critical speed of hydraulic mixture depends on transported material grain size, mixture volume mass, diameter of pipeline and specific gravity of solid phase, it is possible to accurately analyze obturation in hydrotransport installations depending on those parameters. In order to prevent hydraulic impacts in hydrotransport installation pipelines, which value can be determined mathematically, it is necessary to adjust installation to hydromixture parameters and pump, or vice versa.

Abstract:
Abstract Ray theory is used to investigate the effect that irregular crustal interfaces have on the different phases that comprise Lg. We concentrate on the effects of a variable Moho in this initial study, while keeping the surface flat. The Moho models considered are a cosinusoid, a model of the Moho below the German part of the European Geo-Traverse (EGT) and a model representing an ocean-continent transition. It is found that even slight undulations of the Moho give rise to extensive multipathing. This affects the amplitudes of the supercritically reflected crustal multiples comprising Lg in a dramatic way. Two different types of ray behavior are distinguished. The first type, corresponding to regular or weakly chaotic ray behavior, occurs at smaller values of the ray parameter and gives rise to large amplitudes at distinct epicentral distances due to focusing, accompanied by “gaps” containing very little energy due to defocusing in between. The second type, corresponding to strongly chaotic ray behavior, occurs at larger values of the ray parameter. Small changes in the take-off angle in this chaotic regime produce large fluctuations in the epicentral distance of arrivals. The Moho below Germany, for example, produces 140 supercritically reflected arrivals at an epicentral distance of 400 km. Since the amplitudes of arrivals in the chaotic region are smeared out over a large epicentral distance range, they are much less prominent than the arrivals from the regular region, even though they are supercritically reflected. Travel-time fluctuations are less sensitive to the undulations in the Moho than amplitude variations. They are more affected by the magnitude than by the wavelength of the undulations. Amplitude undulations of more than 3 km produce multiple arrivals that have differences in travel time of up to 10 sec.

Abstract:

Genre theory has generally focused on the analysis of generic constructs with some attention to the contexts in which such genres are produced, interpreted, and used, often giving the impression as if producing and interpreting genres is an end in itself, rather than a means to an end. As a consequence, there has been very little attention paid to professional practice, which is the ultimate objective of these discursive activities. It is thus necessary to develop a more comprehensive and multiperspective genre analytical framework to analyze interdiscursive performance in professional practice. In this paper, I propose such a multiperspective critical genre analytical framework and attempt to discuss some of the key theoretical perspectives underlying critical genre theory.

Abstract:
The importance of wireless cellular communication in our daily lives has grown considerably in the last decade. The smartphones are widely used nowadays, besides voice communication; the authors routinely use them to access the internet, conduct monetary transactions, send text messages and query a lot of useful information regarding the location of specific places of interest. The use of smartphones in their day-to-day communication raises many unresolved security and privacy issues. In this paper they identify relevant security attacks in Wireless Cellular Network. The authors conduct experiments in four different platforms such as Iphone, Android, Windows and Blackberry. The packets captured through Wireshark for approximately 24 minutes, giving them a lot of information regarding security and privacy issues involving the users. A lot of useful apps installed and used by the end-users have serious issues in terms of privacy and the information exposed. Which is the better platform comparing all four and what exactly do they expose from the user’s information? What are the threats and countermeasures that the users should be aware of? The aim of the authors’ paper is to give answers to the above questions based on the data captured by conducting real-life scenarios.

Internal risks associated with economic activity are directly related to the processes of production, reproduction, treatment and management. Production risks, in turn, are subdivided into separate types of farm activities: basic, additional and service processes. Entrepreneurs face different set of risks that differ from each other by the way and place of origin, the combination of external and internal factors influencing the level of risks, methods of analysis and description. All risks are interconnected, and to some extent, they affect the business. At the same time, a change in a particular risk will affect many other types of risks.

Full text
Abstract:
A mathematical model is proposed for the prediction of the grinding process chatter. It considers the machine structure as a multidegree of freedom system and takes into account various parameters affecting the process stability such as the workpiece and grinding wheel regeneration, wheel loading and its elastic characteristics. This model is based on a nonlinear relationship with the time factor which is introduced by the loading effect. Three-dimensional stability charts were predicted for the simultaneous variation of both the grinding wheel wear and loading. These stability charts relate the grinding wheel and workpiece speeds to the instantaneous limiting width of grinding. The validity of this mathematical model has been assessed with the aid of a series of chatter tests which were carried out in specially designed experiments. These tests show good quantitative and qualitative correlation between the theoretical results and those experimentally obtained. It has been found that the level of stability decreases with time, indicating the possibility of chatter occurring at a stable width of cut.

Full text
Abstract:
This paper represents the dynamic response of a steel shaft which is fixed at both ends by bearing. The shaft is subjected to both axial and bending loads. The behavior of the shaft in the presence of two transverse cracks subjected to the same angular position along longitudinal direction is observed by taking basic parameters such as nondimensional depth (bi/D), nondimensional length (Li/L), and three relative natural frequencies with their relative mode shapes. The compliance matrix is calculated from the stress intensity factor for two degrees of freedom. The dynamic nature of the cracked shaft at two cracked locations at a different depth is observed. The compliance matrix is a function of crack parameters such as depth and location of crack from any one of the bearings. The three relative natural frequencies and their mode shapes at a different location and depth obtained analytical and experimental method. Multiple adaptive neurofuzzy inference system (MANFIS) methodology (an inverse technique) is used for locating the cracks at any depth and location. The input of the MANFIS is provided with the first three natural frequencies and the first three mode shapes obtained from analytical method. The predicted result of the MANFIS (relative crack location and depth) has been validated using the results from the developed experimental setup.
