Abstract:

Abstract:
The article “The Note on the Humanities and Education” by the german social philosopher Theodor Adorno, a representative of the critical theory of society, was published in 1962. In this philosophical-educational work Theodor Adorno continued the preliminary theme of his critical consideration of the unity of the elements of the culture of the industrial-mass society, which contribute to establishment in social life of industrial-mass ideology as completely dominant. In his philosophical-educational works Theodor Adorno also carried out a critical attack on the school and university education of post-war West Germany. According to the philosopher, this education remains traditionally unchanged, which makes it impossible for any serious anti-ideological transformation in its system. Such changes because of updated educational process could have contributed to the upbringing of a young citizen, a conscious and active participant in democratic transformations in the post-totalitarian society. However, according to Theodor Adorno, the educational process in the unreformed university remains controlled primarily of the agents of the scholarly consciousness, which in no way contributes to the anti-ideological upbringing of students. In this work Theodore Adorno noted the special significance of the humanities, which in German are translated as “sciences about the spirit”, which traditionally present in German university education. In his opinion, the humanities, as the sciences about the spirit, because of the prevalence in the educational process of the “dictates of the scientific ideal” lost the presence in itself of a factor of the individual human spirit. Theodor Adorno called of the signs of the presence of such a phenomenon in university education: the absolute priority of scientific research among humanities study, the lack of personal pedagogical work of a university teacher with a student of humanities, the tendency of struggle of the agent of the reified scientific consciousness against any different knowledge, the unity of the social and theoretical conformism of the agent of that conceptual consciousness. As in his other philosophical works, Theodore Adorno proposed to perceive of personal activity of a human, what is due to the strength of his individual spirit, the natural factor that is capable of conducting a continuous personal struggle with negative phenomena in education, which ideologically influence to the educational process at the university and in education in general.

Abstract:
One of the most important hospitals in Craiova, hospital Theodor I. Preda, was the result of private initiatives in health care. It was founded in 1870 by the Municipality of Craiova, according to the request expressed by Theodore I. Preda in his will. Until 1910 it worked in the homes of the donor and the money necessary for the activity came from leasing of Stârcoviţa and Cearângul estates that belonged to Theodor I. Preda and were donated to the town hall in order to maintain the hospital that would bear his name. Thanks to the efforts of the city hall but also of accrued income, it was possible to put up another building. The new premises of the hospital, which was opened in 1910, allowed a better work and turned it into a modern hospital.

Abstract:
More than a century has passed since the death of the great German surgeon Christian Albert Theodor Billroth. Despite such an impressive time, he is still widely known in the surgical community as the founder of gastric surgery, whose results of many years of work have largely influenced the development of abdominal surgery in the XIX-XX centuries. This person combined the features of a talented surgeon, teacher and organizer in equal measure. Thanks to strict adherence to aseptic rules, Theodor Billroth was the first to begin surgical interventions in anatomical areas, previously considered«forbidden» due to the high frequency of purulent-septic complications. Over the seven years he spent as head of the Zurich surgical clinic, the Billroth contributed to its significant expansion and modernization. He first introduced into the clinical practice statistics of surgical interventions and their results, thereby taking another step from the surgical craft to art and science. Being a versatile person, one of the brightest personality traits of Theodore Billroth was artistry, which was equally manifested both at the operating table and at the piano keyboard, because he, among other things, was a gifted pianist and violinist. In his life and work, he did not oppose science and art. As a scientist-innovator, professor Billroth was the first to perform successful interventions on organs previously considered to be inaccessible to operative effects, thus opening a fundamentally new page in the history of abdominal surgery.

Abstract:
Statement of the problem. In the history of music culture of the mid-18thcentury, the emergence of Mannheim, as one of the centers of orchestral and ensemble art among the unanimously acknowledged Western European cultural capitals (Berlin, Vienna, Paris), was quite unexpected and sensational. A town that in 1719 housed a population of about 5000 rose to the top of the European musical Olympus in the 1750–60s and gained their resistible in formal status among artists as the “musicians’ paradise”. Such rapid rise to the European recognition can be explained by a whole mix of musical, educational and socio-economic factors of the cultural policy of the Palatinate Electorate, which resulted from the reforms of one of the “most educated princes of Germany” Karl Theodor. His work continues to be underestimated and underresearched in national musicology and requires a more detailed study. Analysis of recent research and publications. Among the latest works in Ukrainian and Russian, whose authors touch upon this issue, it is necessary to point out the dissertations and publications of V. Horbal, V. Darda and А. Dvornitskaya. Focusing on the issues of orchestral performance, the viola concerto genres in the works of Mannheim composers and the musical culture of Mannheim of a particular period, each of the researchers only sketchily mentions the personality of Karl Theodore. The purpose of the article is to reveal the role of Karl Theodor in the development of the music art of Mannheim and identify the main economic factors that influenced the formation of cultural policy in the Palatinate. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the identification of economic factors in Karl Theodor’s cultural policy and a comparative analysis of the financing of court musicians of the Palatinate and Prussia. The methodology of the research is based on the general scientific principles of historical reality cognition, where the central method is that of historicism and comparative analysis. The integrity and comprehensiveness of the study were implemented using a systematic method. The results of the research. The research explicates the role of KarlTheodor in the structure formation of the musical-theatrical complex and the court chapel of the Palatinate. It also reveals the main stages of the symphony orchestra formation under the direction of J. Stamitz and C. Cannabich and their contribution to creating a music-educational system to train the orchestra musicians. A comparative analysis of the level of funding for the court chapels of Prussia and the Palatinate has been carried out. The main financial and economic factors of Karl Theodor’s cultural policy and their influence on the process of forming the staff of the Mannheim court chapel have been determined. Conclusions. The importance of Karl Theodor’s contribution into the development of music art of the Electorate of the Palatinate is to create an effective system of mixed public and private funding of the court chapel and a high level of material support for musicians. Guaranteeing high socio-economic standards and comfortable conditions for creative growth of talented artists, Karl Theodor managed to unite them into a single community to create a new “truly European, universally recognized performing and compositional styles” (Würtz, 1992: 37).
