Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to provide an overview of the need and current development of document viewers for digitized objects in DSpace repositories, including a local viewer developed for a document collection as like research papers, thesis and dissertation. Design/methodology/approach The authors developed the concept for the to preserve and store all types of document in one data base with the help of open source software (OSS). The authors used Java Script programing to integrated and developed the system. Findings The major finding of our work is that large document file can be accommodated in DSpace without modifying the originality of the documents and viewing the document in a different dimension as a specialist needs. The combination of current technologies such as Google Doc Viewer and the Internet Archive Book Reader, as well as the growing number of digital repositories hosting digitized content, suggests that the DSpace community will probably benefit with an “out-of-the-box.” Originality/value In addition, to exploring the opportunities of OSS implementation in different research institutes, the study includes issues related to the implementation of the open source repository. This is the first time in India, as well as DSpace history to created and developed Document Viewer with the help of DSpace OSS. The study would have value for library professionals and the developer to understand the market in the context of OSS.

Abstract:
Purpose Research on academic writing development at graduate level has received wide attention. However, less has been documented on positive academic writing literacy experiences and strategies of non-native students while completing their master’s theses. The purpose of this paper is to examine facilitating strategies that non-native students develop in the writing-up stage. Design/methodology/approach A total of 50 MA English majors from 11 higher education institutions in Tehran participated in this qualitative study. Data were gathered using interviews and journal entries and analyzed thematically with the help of the NVivo10 software. Findings The analysis resulted in three major themes: self-support strategies of an academic writer; enhancing personal development; and supervisors’ support and feedback. Findings showed that Iranian students developed strategies that involved interactions not only with supervisors but also members of various academic communities that could be reached via online professional networking. There was also a need to address organizational skills and mood management to meet deadlines. Regardless of the self-support strategies, the supervisors’ role and supervisor–supervisee relationships remained crucial. Originality/value Available studies in academic literacy and English for academic purposes have mainly focused on thesis challenges. This study highlights strategies and positive experiences that facilitate the progress of MA students in the thesis writing journey, while at the same time emphasizing the critical role of supervisors in expediting this process.

Abstract:
The development of close-range photogrammetry has produced a lot of new possibility to study cultural heritage. 3D data acquired with conventional and low cost cameras can be used to document, investigate the full appearance, materials and conservation status, to help the restoration process and identify intervention priorities. At the same time, with 3D survey a lot of three-dimensional data are collected and analyzed by researchers, but there are a very few possibility of 3D output. The augmented reality is one of this possible output with a very low cost technology but a very interesting result. Using simple mobile technology (for iPad and Android Tablets) and shareware software (in the case presented “Augment”) it is possible to share and visualize a large number of 3D models with your own device. The case study presented is a part of an architecture graduate thesis, made in Rome at Department of Architecture of Roma Tre University. We have developed a photogrammetric survey to study the Aurelian Wall at Castra Praetoria in Rome. The surveys of 8000 square meters of surface have allowed to identify stratigraphy and construction phases of a complex portion of Aurelian Wall, specially about the Northern door of Castra. During this study, the data coming out of 3D survey (photogrammetric and topographic), are stored and used to create a reverse 3D model, or virtual reconstruction, of the Northern door of Castra. This virtual reconstruction shows the door in the Tiberian period, nowadays it's totally hidden by a curtain wall but, little and significative architectural details allow to know its original feature. The 3D model of the ancient walls has been mapped with the exact type of bricks and mortar, oriented and scaled according to the existing one to use augmented reality. Finally, two kind of application have been developed, one on site, were you can see superimposed the virtual reconstruction on the existing walls using the image recognition. On the other hand, to show the results also during the graduation day, the same application has been created in off-site condition using a poster.

Abstract:
Background and Purpose: This article analyses the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) political scandal as a case study to examine how an issue is discursively shaped online by netizens’ perceptions of the scandal. The study has two objectives: firstly, to explore netizens’ perceptions of 1MDB and how they reacted to the news reported based on the online exposés appearing throughout 2015. Secondly, it aims to examine whether the discourse regarding 1MDB among netizens on an online platform, The Malaysian Insider Facebook page, meets the characteristics of a practical discourse in an online context, as proposed by Jurgen Habermas. Methodology: A total of 1950 Facebook comments related to 210 1MDB articles in 2015 were analysed. The articles were linked and published by The Malaysia Insider Facebook page. The analysis was conducted using thematic analysis via NVivo software to explore the perceptions of the selected netizens about 1MDB and how the online discourse on 1MDB matched the characteristics proposed by Jurgen Habermas for practical online discourse. Findings: Four themes emerged, namely Najib as the Prime Minister, the 1MDB Debate Controversy, the Opposition position on 1MDB and the investigation of the 1MDB scandal. Based on the online discourse, it was evident that consumption of 1MDB news on Facebook led Malaysian netizens to form their own perceptions of the scandal. The emergent themes also illustrate that the online discourse met the characteristics of practical discourse suggested by Jurgen Habermas. Contributions: This empirical contribution fills a gap in the current knowledge as few studies have been conducted on the online discourse of the 1MDB political scandal among Malaysian netizens. Currently, no research is documented on the 1MDB political scandal from the netizens’ perspective other than the first author’s PhD thesis. This research is, therefore, beneficial to new media studies as researchers normally investigate or explore a specific issue when it has a conclusion; here, a risk was taken to conduct the study while 1MDB was still under investigation. Abstract:
New trends in software development, such as agile software development, have a difficulty in conventional document-based management. Executable software has a higher priority than development documents such as detail design documents and formal bug reports. If managers depend on development reports in order to determine the project progress and the product quality, they will miss the opportunity of determining the progress and quality in agile software development. Therefore, we proposed a project reliability growth model for determining the project state without development documents. This model is based on conventional software reliability growth models. The parameters related to bugs are replaced with communication topic parameters. The concept and procedure of the model are the same as those of the software reliability growth model. By applying this model to open source projects, it is possible to detect a significant change in the project state without development documents.

Abstract:
In satellites, onboard software is required to perform complicated mission sequences and autonomous scheduling, conduct preliminary data processing, and manage various onboard devices. The dependability of onboard software strongly affects the reliability of a satellite itself. Therefore, the onboard software must be both complex and reliable to perform complicated small satellite missions. We propose an automatic software generator to meet these requirements. This generates onboard software and a database for the ground operating system using satellite development documents, such as command and telemetry definition documents and fault detection, isolation, and recovery (FDIR) definition documents. By using this software generator, the software development load can be reduced and human error can be avoided, even if the definitions are modified in an ad hoc manner during the development process. The generator additionally enables the easy accommodation of user preferences and software depth variation during a mission.

We propose a pattern-based software development method comprising analysis (using problem frames) and design (using architectural and design patterns), from which especially evolving systems benefit. Evolution operators guide a pattern-based transformation procedure, including re-engineering tasks for adjusting a given software architecture to meet new system demands. Through application of these operators, relations between analysis and design documents are explored systematically for accomplishing desired software modifications. This allows for reusing development documents to a large extent, even when the application environment and the requirements change.

Abstract:
The essence and importance of the documents flow are investigated in this paper. It is determined that the success of any business entity depends on the proper choice of work with the documents. It is defined that documents flow as the movement of documents in space and time is the basis of the enterprise management information system. Properly and clearly organized documents flow of the business entity enhances the effectiveness of the enterprise management system, accelerates the exchange of documents between contractors, and increases the efficiency of accounting. Advantages and disadvantages of paper, digital and combined documents flow, their interrelation are defined. The types of models of composite (combined) documents flow (formal, conceptual, functional, logical, structural, and managerial) and the importance of application of the structural model for accounting documents flow, which includes business process design and its implementation in practice, are studied. The experience of the leading enterprises (communication operators Ukrtelecom, Kyivstar, Vodafone; delivery services Nova Poshta, Delivery, Ukrposhta; utilities) in the organization of the digital documents flow is investigated. It is determined that digital documents flow is becoming the need for modern business processes of Ukrainian enterprises. Features of the digital documents flow organization software under conditions of the information technologies development are revealed. Each of this software contains a set of functionalities and technical features for the organization of digital documents flow. It is emphasized that the selection of software depends on price range of companies-developers and the conditions of adaptation of digital documents flow systems to the specific needs of economic entities. Prospects for the organization of digital documents flow with the emphasis on the functionality and versatility of software, maximum integration with other software solutions are established. The key trend in the development of document management in the enterprise management information system is the idea of computer-assisted learning, i.e. the ability of modern services to work through updated forms.

Abstract:
While the literature on project management and product development is voluminous, in reality little of it addresses the questions of document management of new organizational procedures to increase project development productivity, and of software development tools required to support and control these procedures. This research study develops a new methodology to integrate project management (activities, milestones, and resources) and document management (responsibilities, authorizations, workflows, archives, and storage). The aim of the integration is threefold. First, it aims to plan and to control activities and documents essential for product development. Second, it aims to ensure the management of documents in terms of responsibilities, authorizations, dissemination, and storage. And third, it aims to trace and locate documents for any type of product. Further, this study shows the value of electronic document management (EDM) in terms of improving the management and communication of concepts and ideas, whether it be for project teams or organizations, for reengineering basic business processes, or for leveraging long-run organizational memory through documents.

Abstract:
Software cost estimation is important for information systems management and is generally taught in software engineering courses especially to terms of the ever-increasing development of E-Government. A significant challenge for Software Sizing (SS) is to determine cost estimates based on TOR documents that do not yet contain complete Software Requirements Specifications (SRS). This study uses Function Points as one of the measurement methods that can make cost estimates and expert needs based on the desired functional system. On the other hand, there are cases where estimation needs after the SRS document have been made. Thus in this study, the authors discuss the implementation of SS based on TOR and SRS documents for E-Government. The results of this study indicate the closeness of the actual and estimated values of 81.9% for TOR and 93.4% for SRS.

Abstract:
The subject of this paper is the description of a process-centered software development environment called MERLIN which monitors and guides teams of software developers and managers in producing software objects. Software objects (or objects for short) include all sorts of documents like requirements analysis, design, code, user manuals, contracts etc. For each user, MERLIN automatically displays a specific working context which contains information like objects, their relations, their current development state, and corresponding tools. This information is filtered according to the (access) rights and duties a particular user has in a particular project, i.e. the working context depends on the user's role (e.g. programmer, designer, manager). Internally, the computation of the information to be contained in a working context, is based on a rulelike definition of a software process and a flexible interpretation mechanism to enact such a process definition. The main feature of the interpreter is an alternating use of backward and forward chaining for the interpretation of rules. In addition, our implementation enables a persistent storage and incremental update during runtime of all process information expressed in facts within the MERLIN knowledge base.

Software Development Organizations are in the need to follow an effective KM strategy for Knowledge acquisition and Knowledge utilization. Even though, knowledge is available in the forms of documents, it is time consuming for the developers to identify and utilize the knowledge according to their need. Hence, we present a KM Trajectory Schema - Service Frame work which offers services for systematic Knowledge acquisition and Knowledge utilization. Knowledge is acquired from the development activity, and then the developer’s code is stored in knowledge base. Knowledge Base Administrator designs a repository; knowledge base is appended by knowledge workers. Assessment and Evaluation of this Knowledge base is been done through the subject experts or knowledge champions. Finally Solution Knowledge Base is built and managed by Knowledge Base Administrators. KM service Framework facilitates Knowledge utilization by providing proactive semantic help for the software developers by the time of the development. KM Service Framework is an experimental collaborative platform that provides great service to the Software Development Organizations.

Abstract:
In this paper we will discuss the process of making a web-based thesis management. The author raises this theme because currently students often encounter problems with thesis writing which requires a lot of time and also requires a lot of paper for revision from the supervisor. Writing confirmation is very important for students in the process of making student writing, which will be assessed by supervisors where student creativity is seen in the later stages of the thesis writing process. The model that the author uses supports the System Life Development System (SDLC), namely the Waterfall Model (Waterfalls), which is expected to be easy in developing software (Software) at each stage that is done mutually supporting one another. Stages of work in this paper starts from gathering the source of the problem of the process of making student writing and finding a goal to facilitate students in communicating with the supervisor. With the management of this thesis it is hoped that it can be used as data in assisting students' writing, and making students not have to waste paper in the revisions of the supervisors.
