Dipterocarpus littoralis known locally as pelahlar, is a producer of endemic commercial wood in Nusakambangan. Pelahlar habitat that is isolated in one island and a narrow genetic distribution causes the risk of extinction of this species is increasing. The effort to conserve rare flora can be done by monitoring and observation the balance of essential nutrients at the site of growth. So we need a system that is able to monitor the balance of essential nutrients and pH in the soil to support the growth of rare flora based on the Internet of Things (IoT). This system consists of a sensor station and a central gate station that is connected based on a star network. scheduling of sending data from the sensor station to the gate station is determined from the results of competition between sensor stations based on the backoff of each sensor station. through this scheme an increase in throughput and collision values is based on the number of sensor stations. From our proposed scheme, it is found that the more sensor stations that compete, the smaller the value of the throughput of the system.

Abstract:
The station is one mode of transportation that shows the progress of the civilization of a city. Stations in Indonesia are one of the modes of transportation that are influenced by the development of transportation technology problems that began in 1983 and is one of the third train developments in the world. This study wanted to find out about the facade characteristics possessed by station-stations in Indonesia. In this study, it is intended to see the characteristics formed from the building facades, the proportions resulting from the composition of the existing space which will be reflected in the proportions and scale of the building. The station building on the Jombang Kota - Tuban track has the characteristics of a long building with the facade composition from the direction of passenger arrival dominated by the composition of the windows and on the reverse side the composition of the doors. Station buildings have a gate which is always at the end of the station building. The entrance gate of the building represents the convenience for passengers to enter with an opening that is wide enough and easily recognizable.

Abstract:
As the city develops radiady, the natural gas is widely used nealy in every filed of people’s lives. During the pressure regulation, the phenomenon of ice jam, which can affect the normal utilization, happens. Heater can be regarded as one of the most important measures that prevents pipe from freezing occurring due to temperature drop caused by pressure regulation. Low-temperature radiant heater with tight structure is specifically designed for gad gate station. The heat transfer process of the gate station is analyzed. In the meantime, the mathematical model of radiant heater, which could be fitted for the gate station, is erected. At the same time, the influence of heat exchange size, radiant panel size and radiant efficiency, brought by tube are discussed. The result shows that the tube type of radiant heater has a greatest performance. Considering the tubes with compact structure, taking tube type of radiant heater as the heater used in gate station is the optimal decision. The analysis combined in this paper is the foundation to choose the heater of gate station.

Abstract:
This study revealed the results from a life cycle inventory of milkfish (Chanos chanos) fingerlings production in Thailand and a life cycle assessment (LCA). A scope of study was a gate -to-gate of milkfish fingerlings production. Life cycle inventories were performed based on the production of 1,000,000 fingerlings. The assessments of environmental impacts were global warming potential (GWP), acidification potential (AP), eutrophication potential (EP). There were 5 major stations of milkfish fingerlings production including the brood stock, breeding, nursery, live feed, and support station. The brood stock station exhibited the highest GWP at 51,128.38 kg CO2 eq. The major source of GWP was from energy consumption. The highest AP was from breeding station at 12,794.75 kg SO2 eq. The major source was from energy used for aeration and water pumping. The highest EP was from breeding station at 172,796.10 kg PO4 eq. The use of feeds that contained lower fish meal and a good administration of feeding process could help to reduce the global warming potential. Application of alternative energy sources such as wind energy could decrease global warming and acidification impact.

Abstract:
Abstract The rationality design of the sluice gate directly influences the flood control capacity of hydropower stations. To demonstrate the rationality of the creation of the spillway gate of a hydropower station in the Yellow River Basin, this paper adopts the method of combining model test with a mathematical model to study the pressure, flow velocity, and water level changes of the spillway gate of the hydropower station under the working conditions of check flood and design flood. The research results show that there is no negative pressure in the whole flood discharge sluice dam section under check flood and desert flood conditions. The pressure characteristics of each area of the sluice floor are good, and the velocity distribution is uniform. However, the outflow velocity of the reinforced cage section is greater than the anti-scour velocity of the river under the two working conditions, which impacts the downstream river, so it is necessary to increase the length of the reinforced cage section appropriately. The water flow falls twice in the spillway dam section. The initial position of the first fall is the same under two working conditions. However, the falling depth decreases with the decrease of reservoir water level. The second fall position moves backward with the reduction of the water level. This paper provides a theoretical reference for the demonstration of flood discharge capacity of other hydropower stations through the analysis and research of the flood discharge sluice state of this hydropower station.

Abstract:
Abstract The safety and reliability of flood gates of runoff hydropower stations in the basin are very important. There is no clear rule on the mechanical causes of flood gate deformation in runoff hydropower stations under frequent floods. Therefore, this paper takes a hydropower station as the research object, adopts the unidirectional fluid-solid coupling method, and investigates the stress displacement of flood gate under typical frequent flood conditions by using ANSYS and Fluent software. The results show that the maximum stress of the flood gate is located at the intersection of the bottom two sides of the gate panel and the gate pier, and the stress meets the stiffness requirement. When the gate is opened, the stress distribution range of the panel is shifted from the top to the bottom, and the stress decreases with the increase of the gate opening degrees. The maximum total displacement is concentrated at the bottom of the central axis in the direction of the panel span, and gradually decreases from the middle of the gate panel to the left and right sides, showing a fan-shaped distribution, and basically symmetrical along the central axis of the panel. The flood gate is mainly deformed along the downstream direction, with obvious depression characteristics.

Abstract:
The discovery and recognition of the embodied meaning of a place can be interpreted through the existing building. The installation artist, the designer and the architect regard the building not as a blank canvas but as multi- layered structure, which they have the opportunity to activate. They have the opportunity to reflect upon the contingency, usefulness and emotional resonance of a particular place and use this knowledge to heighten the viewer’s perception of it. The relationship between the building and its wider location has often been seen as somewhat ambiguous and yet it is possible to describe some spaces as encapsulating, in miniature, the characteristic qualities or features of a much wider situation. The interior has an obvious and direct relationship with the building that it occupies, the people who use it, and also it can have a connection with the area in which it is located. Preston Bus Station is a marvellously brutal building. In 2012, the Preston City Council proposed its demolition and replacement with a surface car park; they refused to consider proposals for building re-use. This provocative act galvanised the various groups that were campaigning to save the building and proved to be the impetus for a number of different types of projects. Gate 81, a collaboration between architects, designers, academics and arts organisations, curated a series of events within the Bus Station with the intention of raising the profile of the building. This paper will discuss the nature of the building, document the Gate 81 projects and report upon this sanguine approach to conservation.

Abstract:
The Beijing Subway system carries about 8 million passengers per day in 2012, and the congestions caused by large passenger volume has become a major issue in transit stations especially transfer ones. In order to suppress the congestion to an acceptable level, an indicator reflecting transit station service level is urgently needed. However, previous researches mainly focus on the passenger density of certain areas, such as stairs and walking corridors. This paper aims to propose a composite indicator reflecting the service level of a whole transit station. Filed investigation of several transfer stations was conducted during peak commuting period, in order to find out the usual congestion points of each passenger flow line. According to investigation results, Platform stair, Exit AGM (Automatic Gate Machine), Platform and Corridor entrance were chosen as key nodes to reflect transit station service level. And the weight of each key node was decided by the average passenger density ratio, based on simulation experiment of SHD station. Finally, the service level of SHD station was evaluated with fuzzy comprehensive evaluation.

Abstract:
Majority of accidents experienced with railway transportation involve collision with automobiles or other vehicles and collision with other trains. These collisions can be averted by putting safety measures in place. Part of the measures can be achieved by using computerized railway station traffic control systems that use microcontrollers and electromechanical devices to shift traffic from one rail lane to another and also to operate the level crossing gate. The two major stages of the system being described here are thus the track switching stage and the level crossing gate stage. The system makes use of microcontrollers for decision making. The microcontrollers are programmed to detect signals from sensors and to output the processed signals to control electromagnetic devices through motor drivers. The codes for the microcontrollers were written in PIC Basic programming language and were debugged and compiled using Micro Code Studio Integrated Development Environment. The resultant Hex files were programmed into the memory of the microcontrollers with the aid of a universal programmer. Software simulation was carried out using the Proteus virtual system modeling software. A scaled down prototype of the system was built and tested. The prototype was able to execute all the decisions required to control the given railway station. A practical real life system would require the scaling up of the power required to drive the various motors; the logic of the system would however remain unchanged. The inclusion of the automated traffic control lighting system at the level crossing gate in the system eliminates the fatigue and tedium associated with a manually controlled traffic system. The computerized railway station traffic control system which helps in track switching and level crossing gate traffic control is capable of improving reliability, speed, operational safety and efficiency of the railway transportation system.

Gate pier may cause damaged by construction joints under inappropriate pouring in Pengshui Hydropower Station. Based on nonlinear FEM, a contact algorithm is adopted to simulate interaction of construction joints between the overflow dam surface and gate pier. With different contact type and loading, the deformation and stress are analyzed comparatively in detail in order to evaluate the strength and safety of the gate pier. The results show that existence of construction joints reduces the stiffness of the structure, but satisfies the requirements of original reinforcement project, which have a little effect on safety of the gate pier.

Abstract:
Pedestrian evacuation risk of subway stations is an important concern in city management, as it not only endangers public safety but also affects the efficiency of urban subway transportation. Determination of how to effectively evaluate the pedestrian evacuation risk of subway stations is of great significance to improve pedestrian safety. Previous studies about the pedestrian evacuation of subway station were primarily focused on pedestrian moving behaviors and the evacuation modeling, and the evacuation scenario is the regular subway operation. There is a dearth of studies to quantify the pedestrian evacuation risk in the evacuation process, especially the pedestrian evacuation risk quantitative characterization of subway station in large-scale sport activity. The current study develops a quantitative pedestrian evacuation risk assessment model that integrates pedestrian stampede probability and pedestrian casualty. Then several different simulation scenarios based on the social force model (SFM) are simulated to evaluate the pedestrian evacuation risk of the “Olympic Park Station” in Beijing, China. The results demonstrate that the pedestrian evacuation method, pedestrian stampede location, and distance from the stampede location to the ticket gate have a large impact on pedestrian evacuation risk. Then, the pedestrian evacuation scenarios with the lowest and highest risk for the “Olympic Park Station” in large-scale sport activity are determined. The findings have potential applications in pedestrian safety protection of subway station during large-scale sports activity.

Abstract:
Train is the most frequently used means of transportation in Tokyo. Train stations are gaining attention as commercial complex today, and higher level of comfort is being demanded for the indoor environment. Open structure of the train station and semi-outdoor like environment suggest that the thermal comfort condition is relaxed compared to indoor comfort standards. The objective of this study is to investigate the thermal comfort condition within train stations and to clarify the appropriate target for environmental control. Field surveys were carried out in summer, autumn and winter during July 2004 to August 2006 in four train stations located in urban area of Tokyo. Concourses were not air-conditioned except one station where spot cooling was operated in summer near the ticket gate. Each survey was conducted from 7:00 to 20:00 for 3 to 11 days per season per station for a total of 81 days. The survey consisted of thermal environment measurement and thermal comfort questionnaire. More than 80% of passengers felt thermally comfortable within the range of 19 to 29 °C SET*. However, acceptability zone was found to be 19 to 32 °C SET*, and it is recommended to design naturally ventilated train stations to fulfil this target.

Abstract:
In order to ensure the safety of passengers using metro stations and staff working at them, some cities choose to set security checks at the entrances of metro stations. There is no doubt that security check can help keep dangerous objects out of a metro station. However, the security check can also slow down the entering speed of passenger flow and lead to congestions that may affect passengers’ travel plans. How security check will impact the passenger flow and how to reduce the impact are questions that need to be addressed. In this study, metro station models were constructed using the building structure and passenger flow data of a realistic metro station in Guangzhou, China. By using the AnyLogic simulation software, the traffic characteristics of passenger flow under the scenarios with and without a security check were compared and discussed. The congested areas in the station hall and possible causes were analyzed. In addition, possible improving measures such as adding security check machines and ticket vending machines were also modeled to test their effectiveness on reducing the congestion in the station. Results show that when security checks are set at each entrance of the station being studied, the flow rate of passengers entering the gate machine could be decreased by 49.4%~83.3%, which can cause serious congestion at the entrance during rush hours. By adding security check machines and ticket vending machines at the entrances with high passenger traffic demands, the congestion near these entrances could be greatly reduced.

Abstract:
A new approach has been presented for optimization of fuel consumption in the natural gas city gate station. In the city gate station, the temperature drops because of pressure drop has been occurred. In this case, the gas temperature may be reached to natural gas hydrates’ temperature and therefore natural gas pipelines are blocked. To avoid this condition, natural gas is preheated. Heating of natural gas should be in the range to avoid the gas hydrated temperature as well as, if possible, lower fuel consumption. For this purpose, the minimum possible temperature regulator output has been defined. The minimum temperature is based on gas hydrate temperature and has been calculated by applying fundamental thermodynamic equations and the equation of state. For validation of proposed method, the results have been compared to the measured temperature of Abbas Abad CGS. The validation shows that the proposed method has reduced fuel consumption by about 35%. The results show the price of reduced fuel consumption and carbon tax has been dropped in a year, also producing carbon dioxide because of incomplete combustion is significantly reduced.

Abstract:
Given the security problems of the urban rail transportation, this paper proposes a methodology for congestion risk evaluation and precaution in order to guarantee the safety of passengers and improve the operation efficiency in metro stations. To begin with, we selected the retention rate of the platform, the waiting rate of the ticket gate and the transfer efficiency as the indexes for the station congestion precaution system and created models to calculate the threshold respectively. By reasonably combining these three indexes, a congestion warning level function was set up to evaluate the congestion risk and determine the warning level. The characteristics of the proposed model are its quick decision results and ease of handling. With the determined warning level, some strategies are suggested to relieve the pressure. Finally, a practical application in Beijing’s GuoMao metro station was performed to verify the feasibility and practicability of the proposed congestion precaution model.

Abstract. Geomagnetic observatories use classical theodolites equipped with single-axis flux-gate magnetometers known as declination–inclination magnetometers (DIM) to determine absolute values of declination and inclination angles. This instrument and the measurement method are very reliable but need a lot of handwork and experience. The authors developed and built a non-magnetic theodolite which gives all measurement data in digital form. Use of this instrument significantly decreases the possibility of observation errors and minimises handwork. The new instrument is presented in this paper together with first measurement results in comparison to the classical DIM.

Abstract:
Improving the efficiency of RFID data storage and ensuring communication security is an effective way to improve the efficiency and safety of the identifying and authenticating process between charging stations and electric vehicles. Considering structure of electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) and the components of RFID system, this paper presents a charging station security authentication system model based on lightweight RFID security protocol using hybrid encryption technology. This protocol participates in the computation and storage through a reader-writer, so that it can store more data than other protocols using the same storage, meanwhile keeping lightweight. To enhance security, a hybrid encryption for RFID is proposed, which is based on public key signature encryption algorithm, hash function and symmetric key algorithm. Analysis demonstrates that this system has great calculating storage performance and security. In addition, it has the ability to resist several typical attacks. Moreover, gate circuits needed to achieve such encryption algorithm is far less than the one used in conventional SHA-256 algorithm.

Abstract:
During the process of distributing natural gas to urban users through city gate stations, hydrate is easy to form due to the existence of throttling effect which causes safety risks. To handle this problem, a program to quickly calculate hydrate prediction and prevention methods for city gate stations is developed. The hydrate formation temperature is calculated through the Chen–Guo model, and the Peng–Robinson equation of state combined with the balance criterion is used to analyze the water condensation in the throttling process. The Wilson activity coefficient model is used to calculate the mass fraction in the liquid phase of thermodynamic inhibitors for preventing hydrates. Considering the volatility of inhibitors, the principle of isothermal flash has been utilized to calculate the total injection volume of the inhibitor. Moreover, the effects of commonly used methanol and ethylene glycol inhibitors are discussed. In terms of safety and sustainability, the ethanol inhibitor, which is considered for the first time, exhibited better prevention and control effects under conditions with relatively high temperature and low pressure after throttling. Combined with the actual working conditions of a gate station, methanol has the best inhibitory effect, followed by ethylene glycol. From an economic point of view, the benefits of the gas phase of the inhibitor during the delivery of natural gas are obvious; therefore, the method of methanol injection is recommended for hydrate prevention. If the gas phase benefits of the inhibitor are not considered, the ethylene glycol injection method becomes more economical.

Abstract:
Multi-Horizontal-Submerged Jets are successfully applied to dissipate energy within a large-scale hydropower station. However, notable near-field vibrations are generated when releasing high discharges through the gates, which is generally typical in a flooding case scenario. Under these conditions, the magnitude of the vibrations varies when applying different gate-opening modes. To investigate and find optimized gate-opening modes to reduce the near-field vibration, multiple combinations were tested by varying gate-opening modes and hydraulic conditions. For each of the tests conducted, fluctuating pressures acting on side-walls and bottoms of a stilling basin were measured. The collected datasets were used to determine the maximum and minimum fluctuating pressure values associated with the correspondent gate-opening mode and a detailed comparison between each of the gate-opening modes was completed. The paper presents the quantitative analysis of the discharge ratio’s effect on fluctuating pressures. It also investigates the influence of different gate-opening modes by including side to middle spillways and upper to lower spillways configurations. The flow pattern evolutions triggered by each different gate-opening mode are discussed and optimal configurations that minimize near-field vibrations at high discharges are recommended to support both the design of new systems and assessment of the performance of existing ones.

Abstract:
Large axial flow pump systems are used in coastal pump stations. It is common and very dangerous for large axial flow pump systems to encounter the failure of the fast hydraulic gate during start-up operations. Methods for equipping LAPS with reasonable safety aids for start-up operations in order to deal with the unexpected situation that the quick gate cannot be opened, limiting the safety and stability of LAPS, have become a key focus of research. We aim to investigate the effect of safety aids on the LAPS’s start-up characteristics under gate rejection conditions and to find the best safety aid allocation method to solve the LAPS’s start-up failure problem. Based on the verification of the model test, a numerical simulation of the start-up process of the large axial flow pump system equipped with auxiliary safety features was carried out under the condition of gate rejection. The results show that under the condition of gate rejection, the auxiliary FLVA or OVHO can help LAPS reduce the risk of start-up failure to a certain extent. The FLVA will play the main protective role during the start-up operations of the LAPS if the LAPS is equipped with both the OVHO and FLVA of unrestricted size under the gate rejection condition. LAPS equipped with OVHO (1.27 Hm) and FLVA (49.1% Ag) and LAPS equipped with FLVA (49.1% Ag) have comparable start-up safety. The latter has an His of 1.783 Hr and a Pis of 1.30 Pr. The former has an instantaneous shock head of 1.772 Hr and a Pis of 1.30 Pr, which exhibit a decrease of 0.38% and 0 %, respectively. The research results will provide an important reference value for the prevention of pump station start-up failures under gate rejection conditions.

Abstract:
Normally, it is much complicated and difficult to design flood discharge and energy dissipation with large discharge. In this paper, twelve designed schemes of a curtain hydropower station were compared and analyzed repeatedly. It provides better reference scheme for engineering design. On weir surface and middle orifice local hydraulic model with geometry scale of 1:60, the writer tested and researched on energy dissipation capacity ,velocity and flow pattern, pressure distribution and related hydraulics problems of the curtain hydropower station discharging structure layout. Basically practicable discharging structure pattern and stilling pool pattern were put forward, through comparison and optimization of more than ten schemes. The study result showed that the surface orifice adapting proper pattern of flaring gate pier was favorable to increase the energy dissipation efficiency and shorten the length of stilling pool, but had no effect on the phenomenon of water wing hitting both sides of guide wall caused by flaring gate pier, the schemes of canceling flaring gate pier of surface orifice and adapting the declined pattern stilling pool could decrease the stilling pool floor plate velocity of under flow energy dissipation efficiently ,at the same time diminish the phenomenon of water wing hitting guide wall on both sides caused by flaring gate pier and obtain certain satisfying energy dissipation effect, moreover it had much heuristic and inspirational effect on similar projects.

As the key components of large-scale hydraulic radial gate, hinge system play an important role in supporting the gate and sustaining loads. They must satisfy the requirements of intensity, rigidity and supporting stability. Due to the complicated working conditions of the gate, it is difficult to calculate stress and strain of the hinge system based on traditional design method. In this paper, taking the radial gate in Silin hydropower station as an example, finite element technology is introduced into the analysis of the hinge system. The approach of this work includes steps of (1) obtaining the maximum load of the hinge system by analyzing and comparing different working conditions of the gate, (2) modeling the hinge system by meshing, loading and boundary constraints, and (3) computing stress and strain of its major components under the most dangerous condition. The results verify design feasibility and structural reliability of the hinge system.

Abstract:
In this work, a promising dual-gated thin film transistor (TFT) structure has been proposed and introduced in the shift register (SR)-integrated circuits to reduce the rising time. The threshold voltage can be simultaneously changed by the top gate and the bottom gate in the proposed dual-gated TFTs. When the SR circuits start to export the scan signals in the displays, the driving currents in the SR circuits are increased by switching the working station of driving TFTs from the enhancement characterization to the depletion characterization. Subsequently, the detailed smart spice simulation has been used to study the function of the proposed SR circuits. In the next step, the proposed SR circuits have been fabricated in a G4.5 active-matrix organic light-emitting diode manufacture factory. The simulated and experimental results indicate that the shift register pulses with the full swing amplitude can be obtained in the SR circuits. Moreover, in contrast to the conventional SR circuits employing with the single-gated TFTs, it has been found that the rising time of the output signals can be reduced from 3.75 μs to 1.23 μs in the proposed SR circuits with the dual-gated TFTs, thus exhibiting the significant improvement of the driving force in the proposed SR circuits. Finally, we demonstrated a 31-inch 4K AMOLED display with the proposed SR circuits.

Abstract:
Considerable efforts are being made to reduce CO2 emissions and thereby solve the problems of environmental pollution and global warming. Technologies for environmentally friendly transportation are being developed using batteries. In particular, with the increase in urbanization and one-person households, e-mobility products are drawing increasing attention as short-distance transportation devices. Among these vehicles, personal mobility devices (PMDs) are receiving attention as new transportation devices that are simple to operate. This paper proposes a new multilevel charging system that is advantageous in responding to the charging voltage specifications of various mobile devices with a single charging system while ensuring a low charging current ripple. The proposed diode-parallel multilevel converter consists of an independent Buck converter in series. The switch of the buck converter is configured at the negative terminal of the input power source so that the gate amplifier voltage is used as the power supply voltage; it can therefore be simply configured without a separate gate amplifier power supply. In addition, it is improved so as to have a wider charging voltage range in a low output voltage region and a better efficiency than the existing diode series multilevel converter. To verify the feasibility of the proposed system, simulations were performed using the software PowerSIM(PSIM), and, in order to verify the validity, a prototype charging system was fabricated to compare and analyze losses according to operating conditions.
