Abstract:
This is the God Squad. It is faceless, impersonal, unmoved by tragedy, almost terrorist in aspect. The photo appeared in LIFE magazine on November 9, 1962, and it depicted the Admissions and Policy Committee of the Seattle Artificial Kidney Center. The Committee had been established in 1962 to select those few persons who would be admitted to the new and tiny dialysis unit that was created by Dr. Belding Scribner, inventor of the arteriovenous shunt. It consisted of seven anonymous members – a minister, a lawyer, a businessman, a homemaker, a labor leader, and two physicians. Each month they received a pile of charts about persons with end-stage renal disease. A prior medical evaluation had rated them all medically suitable for dialysis. The Committee’s task was to select one or two out of a dozen or so to take the available spots. The others were left to die. After several years of this agonizing work, the amendments to the Social Security Act provided financial support for renal dialysis and transplant, allowing the Admission Committee some peace of mind.

Abstract:
In this paper the author discusses the views and statements of the French football player Thierry Henry he gave after his illegal play during the playoff match between France and the Republic of Ireland to claim one of the final spots in the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. First, by controlling the ball with his hand before passing it on for the goal Henry has shown disregard for the constitutive rules of football. Then, by stating that he is "not a referee" he demonstrated that for some players rules are not inherent to football and that they can be relativized, given that for them winning is the goal of the highest ontological status. Furthermore, he has rejected the rules of sportsmanship, thus expressing his opinion that the opponents are just obstacles which have to be removed in order to achieve your goals. Henry's action has disrupted major moral values, such as justice, honesty, responsibility and beneficence. The rules of fair play have totally been ignored both in Henry's action and in the Football Association of France's unwillingness to comment on whether a replay should take place. They have ignored one of the basic principles stated in the "Declaration of the International Fair Play Committee", according to which, fair play is much more than playing to the rules of the game; it's about the attitude of the sportsperson. It's about respecting your opponent and preserving his or her physical and psychological integrity. Finally, the author believes that the rules, moral values and fair play in football are required for this game to become actually possible to play.

Abstract:
Trinity and Man as an Image of God.By Kim Arne PedersenRegin Prenter: »Grundtvig’s Doctrine of the Trinity. In: N.F.S. Grundtvig Theologian and Teacher of The Church«. Published by the Committee for Church and Theology, 1983 (out of sale). »The View of the Church«. Published by the Committee for Church and Theology, on commission by the publishing firm Savanne, Christiansfeld, 1983.This review compares Professor, dr. theol. Regin Prenter’s late works on Grundtvig with the Danish theological traditions of this century. Although Prenter doesn’t intend to discuss the modern interpretations of Grundtvig, he indirectly polemicizes against Kaj Thaning’s and K.E. Løgstrup’s readings of Grundtvig as separating Christianity and human life, understanding life as created and because of that free to be lived on its own conditions. Opposite this tradition, which is inspired by Secularisation theology and is an important part of Danish Creation theology, Prenter emphasizes that the true human life is a Christian life, reborn in baptism and flourishing from the Eucharist. Human life follows a Trinitarian structure and the incarnation reunites the human life with the divine Trinity. Although Prenter criticizes Danish Creation theology, he also agrees with this tradition in stressing that human life has to be based on thrust in God as Creator and Father. Prenter interprets the divine Trinity as a personal living relationship between God as Father and God as Son, which implies a dimension of knowledge. Because of this dimension of knowledge, Prenter – like the Danish Creation theology - is aware of the metaphysical theme in Grundtvig’s theology. The reviewer agrees with Prenter in stressing this theme, but at the same time criticizes him for finding the roots of Grundtvig’s Trinitarian structure in Grundtvig’s Augustine readings and not in Grundtvig’s - critical - interactions with the philosophy of Schelling. In his attack on Schelling Grundtvig develops a Trinitarian structure based on man’s faculties of knowledge and founded in the aseite'of God as Father. Being aware of this, Prenter was able to expound also the ontological motives in Grundtvig’s theology.

In February 1997, a proposal to develop diagnostic ultrasound (U/S) skills for emergency physicians at Surrey Memorial Hospital was presented to the Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Department and subsequently to the Medical Advisory Committee. To our surprise, this was accepted in principle, with no resistance. With the support of DI, maternity and emergency medicine developed a joint proposal to purchase a $160,000 portable U/S machine. It happened so easily that I became convinced God is an emergency physician.

Abstract:
Metaphysics and Revelation. About the Triadic or, respectively, Trinitarian Structures cin N.F.S. Grundtvig’s Thinking 1812-1815A lecture for the Ph.D. degree in theology, University of Aarhus, March, 1995, on the basis of the thesis: Studies in the Relationship between Metaphysics and Faith in Grundtvig’s Writings in the Period 1812 - 1815, Aarhus 1994.By Kim Arne PedersenThe present Ph.D. lecture has been worked out on the basis of a title given by the Assessment Committee. In the lecture the title is understood to imply that the Committee requires a balanced discussion of whether Grundtvig chooses revelation or metaphysics, understood as natural theology, as the source of man’s knowledge of God. While, in his Ph.D. thesis, the writer consistently spoke in terms of Trinitarian structures in Grundtvig’s writings, the Assessment Committee operates with a distinction between Triadic and Trinitarian structures, implying a parallel to the distinction between metaphysics and revelation. The present writer understands the question as pertaining to a revelation-theological, Aarhus-inspired tradition in the interpretation of Grundtvig, which sees the revelation of Christ in the church service as the point of departure for the recognition of God’s Trinity. In the beginning of the lecture a number of crucial positions in Grundtvig research are outlined. The overall issue is contained in the discussion between Kaj Thaning and recent research, i.e. the discussion whether, from 1832, Grundtvig separates human life from Christianity (Thaning) or whether Grundtvig partly operates with a connection between human life and Christianity, and partly both separates these entities and maintains their interaction. The more specific set of issues is represented, on one hand, by Grell’s view that, in his Danne-Virke period, Grundtvig upholds a distinction between natural and revealed theology, and on the other hand by Henning Høirup’s and William Michelsen’s understanding of Grundtvig’s Danne-Virke thinking as a form of recognition of faith. In addition to the discussion with these Grundtvig scholars the writer deals with Regin Prenter’s work on Grundtvig’s Trinitarian theology, where, in continuation of the interaction model and within the framework of the Aarhus-inspired, revelation-theological understanding of Grundtvig, his Trinitarian theology is interpreted as relational, since Prenter understands Grundtvig’s emphasis on God the Father’s aseity as determined by the Father’s relationship to the other personae of the Trinity. The Grundtvig scholars mentioned here all agree in emphasizing the metaphysical-critical dimension in Grundtvig’s thinking, though Prenter does so only with certain modifications. The lecturer follows Helge Grell in the view that Grundtvig makes a distinction between natural and revealed theology, but at the same time explains how Grundtvig, in this connection, operates with a natural-theological concept of faith, independent of the revelation in Christ. Taking its starting-point in the included textual edition of Fascicle 85, About Faith and Its Relation to Our Life on Earth, Or About Church and State, 1813, the lecture demonstrates how Grundtvig determines faith as the lodestar to human cognition. The human recognition of God arises through the cooperation of the three faculties of cognition, imagination, emotion and reason. This human recognition is truly man’s own, and therefore has a limited independence in comparison with faith, the ruling principle. However, the obscure, unverifiable knowledge of God ultimately rests with God’s unceasing and sustaining creation of man, in the process of which God as the Holy Spirit makes use of man’s imagination. Human recognition springs from the faculties of cognition, triadically understood, and must proceed on the basis of those to reach a verifiable recognition of God, a recognition that is not direct, but metaphorical. This metaphorical recognition has the triadic structure of the human faculties of cognition as their basis and therefore includes a natural-theological understanding of God’s Trinity. Thus, the recognition of God’s Trinity is not primarily linked to the revelation in Christ, but has a naturaltheological point of departure. When Grundtvig bases the recognition of the divine Trinity on the human Triad, he harks back to the Augustinian psychological doctrine of the Trinity as carried on in a post-Reformation tradition - without carrying this tradition to its extreme conclusion which would reduce the divine personae to mere forms of existence in the one divine subject. Grundtvig takes this psychological doctrine of the Trinity as the starting-point for the accomplishment of a natural-theological recognition of God, which at the same time is christologically determined by the idea of the Son as the creative LOGOS. The Fall prevents this LOGOS-oriented, natural-theological recognition of God which, consequently, can only be re-established in, and through, the Incarnation of Christ. To a very great extent, therefore, the present writer finds himself in agreement with the Aarhus-inspired, theological Grundtvig interpretation which emphasizes that the revelation in Christ, linked by Grundtvig to the church service from the 1820s, is the point of departure for the inter-action between what is Christian and what is human which, with the human likeness to God as a medium, becomes allcomprehensive and thus metaphysical. Semantically it makes sense to distinguish between Triadic and Trinitarian structures in Grundtvig’s writings, such as the Assessment Committee does. But this must not prevent Grundtvig research from recognizing that he operates with a natural-theological recognition of God’s Trinity with the human Triadic structure as a starting-point. Likewise, the relational interpretation of Grundtvig’s Trinitarian theology must not obstruct the understanding of the metaphysical implications in Grundtvig’s theology of creation, as they find expression in his descriptions of God the Father’s aseity.

Abstract:
The article reconstructs the events of the late 1950s and early 1960s on the basis of archival materials and publications in the Soviet periodical press. They took place in the town of Ocher, Perm region. A small group of Evangelical Christian Baptists gathered in the town. At the end of 1959, a schism occurred within the community. Several women experienced a new religious conversion. They became followers of the Pentecostals. The schism proceeded against the backdrop of intense religious experiences. One of the believers described her experiences in letters and sent them to the Ocher District Committee, then to the Perm Regional Committee of the CPSU. As part of the anti-religious campaign, these letters were provided. Friendly courts were held. Feuilletons and accusations were published in the regional periodical press. The destinies of believers were to be decided by the local atheistic community. The purpose of the study is to identify the socio-cultural circumstances of the life of believers in the local community of the town of Ocher, and to see it through the prism of the small social and cultural technologies of Soviet life. The methodological basis of the study is a microhistorical approach focusing on the context and details of everyday life. The author shows the believer's ability to intertwine in his or her own mind and emotional experiences his or her religious experience and the figurative world of the Soviet everyday life. This ability is considered as an essential characteristic of Soviet religiosity, which had been formed by the middle of the 20th century. The biographical incident of Natalya Ershova, the vicissitudes of her fate allow us to notice the breaks in the social reality in which the 'ordinary' Soviet person lived. Due to this, one can identify and describe the character and specific subjectivity of the Soviet believer.

Scholars have examined the ways organizations practice post-crisis communication strategies, including deny, diminish, and rebuild. The current study explores the extent to which a stakeholder-formed organization utilizes post-crisis discourse of renewal to rebuild, recover, and renew the Catholic Church after allegations of sexual abuse of minors publicly surfaced in the United States. Open-ended semi-structured interviews with founders and executive committee members of Leadership Roundtable revealed stakeholders practiced discourse of renewal to help the Catholic Church, an offending organization, recover from a crisis. This study also assessed the extent to which God and religion motivated stakeholders’ responses. Results suggest religion is a critical motivating factor in stakeholders’ responses to a crisis.

Abstract:
One of the founding fathers of Russian sinology Vasiliy Mikhailovich Alekseev (18811951) had acquired an impressive collection during his ethnographic expedition to the southern regions of China (May 4 August 19, 1912), which was organized by the Russian Committee for Middle and East Asia Exploration and initiated by the Committee`s head, founder academician Vasilii Vasilievich Radlov (18371918). Alekseevs expedition stated from Vladivostok and passed through Harbin, Shanghai, Ningbo, Putuoshan, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Shantou, Guangzhou and ended up in Hong Kong. Alekseev has collected about 1083 artifacts making up a collection exclusively on popular Buddhist and Daoist religion, items of household usage, daily life and cult, as well as revolutionary leaflets and posters of 1912, now this collection is kept at the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences (MAE, RAS) with registration No.2054. During his earlier studies in China in 19061909 Alekseev acquired large collections of ethnographic materials and folk art (mainly popular woodblock prints nianhua 年畫) from the northern regions of China, which had later for the most part entered collections of the State Hermitage and the State Museum of the History of Religion (GMIR) in St.Petersburg. For his expedition of 1912 Alekseev had lined out a plan based on his observations of northern religious practices, e.g. he was particularly interested in the worship of City God chenghuang, child giving goddesses niangniang and God of Wealth caishen, but he quickly realized how different was the southern religious terrain and focused on local specifics. This paper discusses a large portion of printed ritual texts used for religious purposes in Fujian and Guangdong provinces and dated by the early 20thc. Our survey of several dozens of printed materials from fund No.2054 reveals prevalence of documents used by ritual specialists Daoists for funerary rituals and ancestor worship, funeral various types of talismans occupy a central place. Apparently, the form and content of these texts have been preserved in the local religious practice up to present days.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the activities of the literacy schools created by the Ekaterinburg Diocesan Committee of the Orthodox Missionary Society in the Verkhotursky uyezd of the Perm province: their financial and material support, methods of educational work, the level of educational training and material support of teachers. For the spread of Orthodoxy among the settled Mansi, the committee created four schools: in 1887 — in the village of Lacha, in 1888 — in Lopaeva, in 1890 — in Mityaeva, in 1891 — Petrova. “Vogul Schools” worked according to the program of parish schools, which included the study of the following subjects: the Law of God, Church Slavonic literacy, the Russian language and reading of civilian press, arithmetic, calligraphy, church singing. The training lasted three years and was conducted in Russian. The main task of church schools was “awakening in children of sincere love for the Church of God and the development of religious feelings in their souls”. The missionaries were confident in the beneficial and attractive power of Christian ideas, capable of turning the gentiles and “infidels” to Orthodoxy. The government, supporting missionary schools, saw in them a means of spreading the Russian language and integration of the empire’s non-Russian peoples into a single economic and cultural space. In 1907, missionary schools were transferred to the jurisdiction of the Ekaterinburg diocesan school council. At that time, there were 20 students (10 boys and 10 girls) in the Lachinsky school, in Mityaevskaya — 10 (6 boys and 4 girls), in Lopaevskaya — 28 (19 boys and 9 girls), in Petrovskaya — 23 (16 boys and 7 girls). During the school reform of the early 20th century all these schools were closed. Only the Petrovsky school was preserved, which was completed by students and transformed into a parish school. Attempts by the Ekaterinburg branch of the Orthodox Missionary Society to organize schools to teach children of the nomad Mansi failed.

Abstract:
After the outbreak of war in Europe in 1914, the British government’s call to arms caused a moral and religious dilemma for members of the Religious Society of Friends (Friends or Quakers), whose fundamental principle was (and is) the rejection of war and violence. Many Friends sought means of reconciling their duty to God with their duty to their country, and the prospect of helping to alleviate the suffering of the civilian victims of the fighting provided them with an acceptable alternative. Together with fellow Friend T. Edmund Harvey MP, Dr Hilda Clark set about rallying the support of Friends and sympathisers willing to go out to France to administer humanitarian aid to non-combatants. The committee adopted the name used by the distinguished organisation that had administered relief in the Franco-Prussian War—the Friends’ War Victims’ Relief Committee (FWVRC). Extensive and multifaceted aid work was carried out in much of northern France by the FWVRC’s general relief team. The following essay, however, examines more closely the medical assistance provided under the leadership of Hilda Clark. In particular, it focuses on the maternity hospital created and run by the FWVRC in Châlons-sur-Marne, which became a lasting legacy of the Friends to the people of the Marne.

Abstract:
The Church of Pentecost (CoP) has been identified as the fastest growing Christian denomination and the largest Protestant church in Ghana since 1989.1 Even though the CoP is grouped among the Classical Pentecostal Churches in Ghana, together with the Assemblies of God (AG), Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) and the Apostolic Church (AC), some scholars tend to describe it as an indigenous Ghanaian Pentecostal church for various reasons.2 For example, Asamoah-Gyadu indicates that - although it identifies with the classical Pentecostal tradition, the CoP has acquired a unique indigenous character, marking it out as different in outlook from, say, the Assemblies of God, whose American imprint after sixty years of existence in Ghana is still quite obvious.3 To some extent, some of the leaders of the CoP also seem to have similar view that the CoP is an indigenous Ghanaian church. Writing the introduction to the ‘History of The Church of Pentecost Volume 1’, Apostle D K Anan, the then chairman of the History Committee, points out that ‘The Church of Pentecost, from its inception, has been an indigenous, a do-it-yourself Church.’4 This assumption agrees with the claims of Rev. James McKeown, the first superintendent and chairman of the CoP that he wanted to plant ‘local species’ in African soil, since he believed that a British oak is more likely to struggle in Ghana.

Abstract:
Construction of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God, “The Life-Giving Spring,” was completed in 2008. The church was built next to a small spring that has been venerated by the local population since the 19th century. A large number of coins from the 19th and 20th centuries were discovered in the bed of this spring. These coins serve as evidence that local people have venerated this spring throughout the imperial and Soviet periods. In the 19th century, the official Church imposed strict control over popular Orthodox traditions. Yet, at the beginning of the 20th century, the Turkestan Diocesan Committee decided to recognize the veneration of the spring. In the Soviet period, very little documentary evidence of this tradition was preserved, but this evidence suggests that popular Orthodox practices were far more widespread than commonly assumed.

Abstract:
The emergence, growth and development of The Church of Pentecost (CoP), Ghana is a demonstration of a new era of African Christianity. The Church of Pentecost was listed as the largest Protestant Christian denomination in Ghana by the last empirical church survey of the Ghana Evangelism Committee. In 193 7, James and Sophia McKeown were sent by the Apostolic church in the UK to the then Gold Coast (now Ghana) as missionaries. Working in partnership with the indigenous converts and personnel, McKeown worked tirelessly in Ghana to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the country through his emphases on the word of God, the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, and holy living. In 1953 McKeown was compelled to come out of the Apostolic Church of the UK and get along with the indigenous people under the name 'Ghana Apostolic Church' which was renamed 'The Church of Pentecost' in 1962.

Abstract:
The Wojtyła family is a special family which, in God's plan, is an example of heroic faith, hope and love. The Pope's parents were his role model and the perfect foundation for his journey to holiness. Prayer and the sacraments were a means of union with God. They fulfilled God's will by living in the spirit of the Gospel and total devotion to Mary - Totus Tuus. Following the life and pontificate of John Paul II, the above article shows and illustrates the influence of parents on Karol, the future pope. Therefore, it is a great inspiration for families, educators, and caregivers who are nowadays looking for original, charismatic authorities that will inspire and lead them to the right path. In 2020, when the 100th anniversary of St. John Paul II’s birth was celebrated, on May 7, the Episcopate consented to the commencement of the beatification process of Karol and Emilia Wojtyła by the Archdiocese of Krakow. Thus, the Holy See was asked to start the process at the diocesan level. The initiation of the beatification process of Pope Wojtyła's elder brother Edmund remains an open issue. He died in 1932, taking care of his sick patients at the hospital in Bielsko. Edmund received the title of Doctor of Medicine at the Jagiellonian University on March 29, 1930. The beatification committee was established in 1997. Karol Wojtyła's family did not differ from the average Catholic family of that time. What distinguishes this family today is Love and Faithfulness to God and people. Devotion, service and humility. Holiness is a gift that the baptized receive with the first sacrament. As such, this gift should be nurtured and developed in the Catholic Church community through sacramental life and a life of prayer. The Wojtyła family is an example of fulfilling God's will in everyday life. It abided with God and continues to do so.

The year 2001 was declared by the Dutch Reformed Church (N G Kerk) as the "Year of Hope". The author, chairperson of the church's Committee for Reconciliation, Poverty and Moral Repair, reports on the preparationsand the expectations for the Year of Hope. Hope, he contends, is far more than mere optimism, it is living in a close relationship with Christ, who indeed is our Hope, following in his footsteps in the world of today. The church's hope should be concretised in its kerugma (in preaching as well as in the development of a Theology of Hope), its diakonia (its service to the poor and needy, especially to Aids-victims and their families), its koinonia (the church being a preparing community, a sign and a sacrament of the Kingdom), and in its leitourgia (the way in which we offer our lives to God a as a living sacrifice to his glory). To illustrate his points, the author uses metaphors created by both Soren Kierkegaard and Lesslie Newbigin.

Abstract:
This topic is focused on student grievances. Every student has its own problems and pressures at school. SDA schools should have at least a proper education on educating teachers to show that they really care and train the students to love Jesus. They need fair judgment to help students boost their self-esteem. Students must felt that somebody looks after them when they are in trouble or in difficulties. In the school, they could have at least leaders or a committee to approach when students are in need emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Like in the book of Matthew chapter 18, there are only two things God has emphasized which are love and humbleness. These are the things we should inculcate and practice in our school. There’s a large need for cooperation and openness between teachers and students in school. Whereas non-Adventists could appreciate and realized that SDA schools are not only promoting a high standard of education but also preparing the students for heaven.

In this paper we look at mediatisation within the Roman Catholic Church. The article addresses the complex and diverse attitudes towards media in the church as an hierarchical organisation. Media-related, as well as other forms of communication were considered using the communicative figuration account in the qualitative analysis of the data. The analysis shows that the mediatisation amongst priests is generally low, although it increases in certain situations, such as within the committee structure of the organisation, to quite a high degree within lay groups. Our research suggests that there are opportunities for new participation in mediatisation, although the pace of innovation or datafication, for example, were not shown to be factors in this process.

A fatwa is not the same as a positive regulation that limits power to all citizens, but a fatwa can have limiting powers once it is converted into a legal guideline. The fatwas given by the DSN-MUI (General Sharia Committee of the Indonesian Ulema Council) amounted to around 107 fatwas and have made a positive commitment to the guidelines for the sharia monetary regulatory framework. The DSN-MUI fatwa is an important part of the laws and regulations of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia which is guided by Pancasila, the main statute of which is Belief in One Supreme God and one of the living rules is Islamic law. This standardized juridical examination technique is carried out with an astonishing logic methodology, which describes methodically, earnestly and precisely, the real factors and problems considered related to valid hypotheses and with (1) a rule approach, (2) a series of experiences (verifiable methodology), (3) political methodology (political methodology). In addition, the information obtained is broken down in a subjective juridical manner by considering the material of the entire legal instrument and then described.

Abstract:
The article is about the basic steps of the church property seizure campaign for famine relief. The campaign was carried out from March to May, 1922, in parallel with the Soviet authorities’ awareness-raising crusade to undermine the credibility of the Orthodox clergy in Russia, including the Saratov province. The local media of those years thoroughly reflected those processes, since the government of that time actively used periodic publications for its political outreach. In the pages of the newspaper “Bor’ba” of Balashov district executive committee of the RCP(b) unleashed political persecution of the clergy that was cleverly masked as a fight against the famine and collecting of necessary means. The March-June 1922 publications featured not only the reports about the course of the campaign, caricatures and articles accusing the clergy of greediness and indifference to people’s tragedies, but also some fictional formats that contained hidden messages to form a negative public response towards the Christian faith. Christ was pictured as a cruel God indifferently watching the death of his flock in starvation pains. The party leaders who did not abandon their citizens in difficult moments were presented as saviors. What was happening was a substitution of ideals.

Abstract:
This study aims to describe the Pentecostal-Charismatic discourse about the Jubilee. The study is a qualitative-descriptive study and used literature study approach. Sampling was conducted to Pentecostal-Charismatic circles in several Pentecostal-Charismatic denominations. The data sources are documents in the forms of sermons, magazines, brochures, Jubilee Committee work reports, articles, liturgies, and songs about the Jubilee. Results show that the Pentecostal-Charismatic perspective regarding the Jubilee was generally different from that of the non-Pentecostal-Charismatic. According to Pentecostals-Charismatics, slave liberation meant to be restoration of a man from sin, from shackles of bondage of the evil one, from sickness, from weakness, and from inner wounds & want/poverty by the power of Jesus’ cross; Then, the land that must be returned to its original owner was defined as the return of humans to their right position, that is, before they fall into sin. Regarding the relevance of land regulations in the Jubilee was the arrangement of the organizational structure or church management, in which the older generation began to retire and was replaced by the younger generation; whereas the rest itself was intended for humans to be able to have a fellowship with God, so that they do not get greedy and can appreciate others’ property.

Abstract:
In the essay “Creed or Chaos?” written in the midst of the turmoil of World War II, British mystery novelist Dorothy L. Sayers defended the relevance of the creeds produced during the doctrinal debates of the fourth and fifth centuries to the lives of modern Christians. The theological dogmas contained in such documents as the Nicene Creed (325) or the Chalcedonian Definition (451) are not, she notes wittily, “a set of arbitrary regulations invented a priori by a committee of theologians enjoying a bout of all-in dialectical wrestling,” but were “hammered out under pressure of urgent practical necessity” to resolve theological controversies that had real impact on the discipleship of ordinary Christians. To put matters at their simplest, the trinitarian controversies revolved around the question of whether Christ was divine, and so capable of saving humankind from sin and death. The christological controversies, at least in their earliest stage, debated whether Christ was really human, truly the God-made-man capable of healing wounded humanity and providing aviable role model for Christians to follow in the living of a redeemed life. At stake in both controversies was a convincing explanation of the central Christian tenet that “Jesus saves” for those who profess to be his followers.

Our research sheds light on some of the decisions of the Arabic Language Academy in Cairo related to the pleural of words, represented by the work of the Committee of Words and Styles. The aim of the research is to show the impact of the morphological heritage first and the semantic Second in these decisions. The research is needed because in our contemporary life, the heritage interacts with hadith, and morphological study is needed by all Arabic speaking people every time and everywhere because it is the balance of Arabic. Knowing the meaning of the word in its ancient and modern use gives the researcher an idea about the relationship that binds them, and helps to discover the connection between them. The research was divided into two topics, the first carried the title (feminine sound plural and its implications in the decisions of the Council), and the second topic carried the title (broken pleural grammar and their connotations in the decisions of the Council). The second topic further divided into two types, the pleural of the few and the pleural of the abundance. Abstract:
The author situates the question of praxis in theological methodology and Catholic Social Teaching in relation to teaching ethics courses in Catholic higher education. The author uses a genealogical strategy to show that Cardinal Joseph Cardijn’s See-Judge-Act methodology of theological praxis has become canonical in Catholic Social Teaching. The author shows that advocates of Cardijn’s methodology include Pope Pius XI, Pope Pius XII, Saint Pope John XXIII, Pope Paul VI, and Pope Francis. In addition, the author shows that Cardijn’s methodology is used by the committee that drafts Schema XIII, the Conciliar document that becomes Gaudium et Spes. Besides its use in a Western European Catholic Context the author explains that Cardijn’s methodology of theological praxis is appropriated at the Consejo Episcopal Latinoamericano in Medellin, Colombia (1968); Puebla, Mexico (1979); and Aparecida, Brazil (2007). The author also explains how Cardijn’s methodology of theological praxis is integrated in ethics courses in order to develop students’ ability to discern whether a current business, healthcare, or environmental practice is a sign of the kingdom of God or the anti-kingdom. For the author, Cardijn’s methodology of theological praxis leads students to new insight about realities they are unaware and introduces them to the countercultural wisdom of the Catholic intellectual tradition, as well as the importance of moving beyond critical theological reflection and into the realm of social action.

Abstract:
Human suffering is a major concern to the fields of psychology and theology; however, the effect of suffering is controversial to many. In this study, nine Chinese pastors, who had experienced religious persecution to the extent of confinement, were interviewed about their experiences during the persecution, the effect related to their suffering, and their ways of coping. The transcripts were coded into major themes by adapting a hermeneutic phenomenology method with a committee approach. Results showed that the suffering in religious persecution involved losses of personal freedom, physical trauma, spiritual isolation, and collapse of social support. Eight themes emerged as unique ways to respond and cope during the suffering–-experiencing God's presence, letting go and surrender to God, identification with the passion of the Christ and His disciples, preparing to suffer, normalizing their suffering, worshipping and reciting Scriptures, fellowships and family support, and believing in a greater purpose. The first three of the coping methods significantly predicted positive affect. The pastors also reported transformation after the suffering, which can be categorized into four themes–-switching the focus from self to the churches, embracing the humility and limits within oneself, increased trust in God's provision, and redefining their views on suffering. This study sheds light on post-traumatic growth and religious coping. Christian counselors are also encouraged to explore the meaning and emotion of suffering in therapy, as well as to utilize culturally sensitive coping mechanisms.

Abstract:
GCG (Good Corporate Governance) is the most well-known principle in the world to maintain the integrity of the world's organizations. Almost all international location swithin all countries adhere for the basis to build responsibility and openness. Regrettably, in the application, GCG lacks explanation of stakeholder values. That study aims to reconstruct GCG (OECD version) and seek an extra agreeable idea of Sharia Concept. Surely this will provide a solution to the problem it self. After analyzing the value and character of SET, webuild a modern GCG positioned on Islamic concept. These concept are; one; deeper sympathetic of the stakeholder steam, second; principles regarding the rights of stakeholders; third; equality regarding the behavior of stakeholders; fourth; openness principle; last; about corporate accountability. Weak GCG practices in Indonesia are caused by the low level of protection for investors, the class of lawmaintanance, the class of transparency and the ineffective audit committee of public companies. This condition strongly encourages the need for effective and efficient global corporate governance. Islamic Corporate Governance The Islamic perspective lies under the Islamic Corporate Theory which has greater concern for wider stakeholder swhich include God, humans and nature. Differences in goals between conventional Corporate Governance and Sharia GCG which tend to adopt Sharia Enterprise Theory (SET). SET equates material and spiritual values. This shows that GCG Syariah is not only toachieve material benefits, but also spiritual values. SET also equates egoistic values with altruistic values, which in Islamic law are manifested in the form of worship.

Abstract:
Many legislatures around the world are undergoing a ‘participatory makeover’. Parliaments are hosting open days and communicating the latest parliamentary updates via websites and social media. Public activities such as these may make parliaments more informative and accessible, but much more could be done to foster meaningful democratic renewal. In particular, participatory efforts ought to be engaging citizens in a central task of legislatures – to deliberate and make decisions on collective issues. In this article, the potential of parliamentary committees to bring the public closer to legislative deliberations is considered. Drawing on insights from the practice and theory of deliberative democracy, the article discusses why and how deeper and more inclusive forms of public engagement can strengthen the epistemic, representative and deliberative capacities of parliamentary committees. Practical examples are considered to illustrate the possibilities and challenges of broadening public involvement in committee work.

Abstract:
Marriage in Islam is a lawful connection between a man and a woman in perpetuity. It is accomplished with the consent and full acceptance of both of them according to the proper provisions. Marriage is based on solid foundations, strong principles, and high ethics. The rights and responsibilities between the spouses are established with the Qur’an and Sunnah, in achieving the high purposes of marriage and providing everlasting stability in order to achieve the happiness that every family dream about it. On the other hand, since marriage is a serious responsibility either in marriage or divorce so not permissible to joke. Because marriage is a heavy covenant that God has taken upon the children of Adam. Therefore, all the rights and duties that entail between the spouses must be fulfilled and must hold with favours or being discharged with kindness. So, for this, we find Malaysians have taken all precautionary means and methods that guarantee stability and continuity in marriage. A Malaysian cannot apply for the marriage contract unless he/she takes a training course certificate that qualifies him/her to manage and bear family responsibility. And if it is difficult to live together, then they go to Advisory Committee, to remove the misunderstanding between the spouses, to settle their differences, and preserve the bridge of affection between them. In addition, that divorce can only take place in court. The problem of the research is the high rate of divorce in the Islamic world, so perhaps this research will contribute to the emergence of appropriate solutions to this problem, and it is known that the human being is composed of two main important elements, namely the body and the soul, and they need to be satisfied, and their emptiness is a reason for the emergence of formalities. This research aims to highlight the strengths of Malaysian family treatments to enhance them, and to benefit from their positive aspects in the rest of the Islamic world. This study will include a presentation of the pre-emptive methods and the post-remedial measures that the reconciliation committee undertakes before submitting the case to the Shariah court judge. In his study, the researcher will take this descriptive and analytical approach to find out the phenomena and then search for an accurate logical explanation and analysis suitable for them, in order to reach the required results.

Abstract:
This study begins with an attempt to derive from 4th century discussions a definition of Arianism. It then notes the re-emergence of Arianism after the Reformation and traces its development within both the Church of England and English Nonconformity, focussing particularly on Isaac Watts and Philip Doddridge. It looks at the factors which account for this development, including the aversion to human creeds which so deeply influenced the Nonconformist mindset. The study concludes that men like Doddridge, passionately committed to theological freedom, underestimated the threat which Arianism poses to Christianity.

Abstract:
Lumbini is so far unrecognized for its importance and significance by placing all attention to it as Siddhartha Gautam’s (Buddha) birth place. It is this very place where all three schools of Buddhism — Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana come together. Buddha’s message of peace and harmony is practiced in daily life by the local inhabitants professing different religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam. Ancient Kapilvastu covers such a wide area that it has become a goldmine for archaeologists for far and wide to have an opportunity to study civilizations and cultures which date back the pre Christian Era. United Nations Secretary General U Thant spearheaded the development of present Lumbini with help from an International Committee for the Development of Lumbini which he formed and saw that the task of a Master Plan for Lumbini was given to one uniquely qualified architect Kenzo Tange, a person with a vision. With many changes and adjustments from the original Master Plan, Lumbini is fast losing its luster by the construction of physical structures that hardly conform to the bylaws written during the approval of the Master Plan. Yet by the sheer strength of Buddha himself Lumbini retains its un-parallel beauty, serenity, tranquillity, and universality. Lumbini has reached this stage of development amidst several unwarranted controversies and mismanagement, but not all is lost. Lumbini can offer three distinct services to humanity as Buddha would have wanted: Guide those who believe in Buddha as God as they can find the almighty in every inch of the Sacred Garden; Lessen the pains and sufferings of others who seek to have a better life through meditation and prayers; and create a congregation of peace lovers who are in search of peace for themselves, their communities, their countries and the whole world.

Abstract:
Background: Values are the basis of nursing practice, especially in making decisions about complicated ethical issues. Despite their key role in nursing, little information exists on the factors affecting their development and manifestation in nursing students. Objective: This study identifies and describes the facilitators and inhibitors of the development and manifestation of professional values based on the experiences of nursing students and instructors and nurses. Research design: Data were collected through 29 semi-structured interviews and two focus group interviews in 2013–2015 and were analyzed using the conventional content analysis method of Elo and Kyngäs. Participants and research context: In total, 18 nursing undergraduates, five nursing instructors, and five nurses from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and one of the teaching hospitals in Shiraz were selected through purposive sampling. Ethical considerations: The research was approved by the Ethics Committee of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and the teaching hospital examined. Findings: The findings consisted of two categories: personal and environmental factors. Personal factors consisted of the two subcategories of personal stimuli (work experience and past relationships, inner beliefs and acting on values, belief in God and a divine worldview) and personal inhibitors (the lack of professional motivation and enthusiasm, negative emotions). Environmental factors consisted of the two subcategories of environmental stimuli (cooperation, order and discipline) and environmental inhibitors (unfavorable work environment, society’s negative attitude toward nursing, the violation of rights). Discussion and conclusion: Given the impact of personal and environmental factors on the development and manifestation of professional values in nursing students, it is upon the education authorities to take account of them in their planning, and nursing managers are also recommended to further address these factors in their development of a proper work environment, provision of standard facilities and removal of barriers.

"Excisional treatment in women with cervical adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS): a prospective randomised controlled non-inferiority trial to compare AIS persistence/recurrence after loop electrosurgical excision procedure with cold knife cone biopsy: protocol for a pilot study." Abstract:
IntroductionAdenocarcinoma in situ (AIS) of the uterine cervix is the precursor to invasive endocervical adenocarcinoma. An excisional biopsy such as a cold knife cone biopsy (CKC) should be performed to exclude invasive adenocarcinoma. Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) is an alternative modality to CKC but is controversial in AIS. There is a perception that there is a greater likelihood of incomplete excision of AIS with LEEP because the depth of excised tissue tends to be smaller and the tissue margins may show thermal artefact which can interfere with pathology assessment. In the USA, guidelines recommend that any treatment modality can be used to excise AIS, provided that the specimen remains intact with interpretable margins. However, there are no high-quality studies comparing LEEP with CKC and well-designed prospective studies are needed. If such a study were to show that LEEP was non-inferior to CKC for the outcomes of post-treatment persistence, recurrence and adenocarcinoma, LEEP could be recommended as an appropriate treatment option for AIS in selected patients. This would benefit women because, unlike CKC, LEEP does not require general anaesthesia and may be associated with reduced morbidity. Methods and analysisThe proposed exploratory study is a parallel group trial with an allocation ratio of 2:1 in favour of the intervention (LEEP: CKC). Participants are women aged ≥18 to ≤45 years diagnosed with AIS on cervical screening and/or colposcopically directed biopsy in Australia and New Zealand, who are to receive excisional treatment in a tertiary level centre.Ethics and disseminationEthical approval for the study has been granted by the St John of God Healthcare Human Research Ethics Committee (reference number #1137). Abstract:
IntroductionBCG vaccination reduces all-cause infant mortality in high-mortality settings by more than can be attributed to protection against tuberculosis. This is proposed to result from non-specific protection against non-vaccine targeted (‘off-target’) infections. There is also evidence that BCG protects against allergic diseases. Methods and analysisThe Melbourne Infant Study: BCG for Allergy and Infection Reduction is a phase III multicentre, single-blinded, randomised controlled trial. A total of 1438 healthy neonates will be randomised to receive either BCG vaccination or no BCG vaccination in the first 10 days of life. Measures of allergy, eczema, infection and asthma will be obtained from parent-completed questionnaires 3 monthly in the first year and 6 monthly from 1 to 5 years of age, and clinical assessments at 1 and 5 years of age. Biological samples will also be collected for future immunological studies.Analysis primary outcomeThe proportion of participants with measures of allergy and infection (atopic sensitisation, eczema, lower respiratory tract infection) at 1 and 5 years of age, and asthma at 5 years of age. Secondary outcomes: (1) the proportion of participants with additional measures of allergy, eczema, asthma and infections; (2) medication use for eczema and asthma; (3) the severity and age of onset of eczema and asthma; (4) the number of episodes of infection; (5) hospitalisations for infections and (6) laboratory measures of immune responses.Ethics and disseminationThis trial has ethical and governance approval from Mercy Health Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC, No. R12-28) and Royal Children’s Hospital HREC (No. 33025) with additional governance approval from Barwon Health and St John of God, Geelong, Victoria. Abstract:
IntroductionThe COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated how vaccine hesitancy impacts are translated nationally and internationally. A predictor of vaccine hesitancy is religious beliefs (eg, the body being sacred and should be healed by God). Additionally, the perceived content of vaccines can conflict with religious dietary restrictions. Despite the main faith organisations in the UK endorsing COVID-19 vaccination, vaccine hesitancy remains a challenge. Most faith-based research and interventions have been investigated in individual faiths, in isolation from others. Therefore, the aim of our research is to inform the development of interfaith interventions to address COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, following the identification of potential facilitators and barriers and codesign of interfaith intervention(s).Methods and analysisWe will facilitate six face-to-face focus groups in London, each comprising eight participants. There will also be the option of joining an online focus group. A semistructured topic guide will include questions on experiences around interfaith, vaccine hesitancy, facilitators and barriers, and potential interfaith interventions to increase vaccine acceptance. Focus group participants will be invited to join a subsequent interfaith codesign workshop where the researchers will share the tentative findings and facilitate discussion to develop one or more interventions. Purposive sampling will be used to recruit 48 participants from different faith groups, ethnicities and backgrounds to capture diversity in the sample. Reflexive thematic analysis will guide a systematic process of constant comparison, coding data into categories and refining into overarching themes.Ethics and disseminationThe University College London (UCL) Research Ethics Committee granted ethics approval (Project ID 4359.006) on 3 May 2022. Minor amendments to the study were approved on 15 May 2023 to accommodate participants’ requests for online or face-to-face focus groups at a UCL venue. Informed consent is required from all participants. The findings will be disseminated in journals and to the public and key stakeholders.

Abstract:
The purpose of the present article is to outline a pentecostal model of special divine action by combining the work of Christian philosopher James K. A. Smith and the pentecostal theologian Amos Yong. The past discussions in SDA can be characterized by a lack of pneumatology. Pentecostalism, on the other hand, is strongly committed to the active work of the Holy Spirit in the world today, beyond the Spirit’s work in general providence. Thus, pentecostalism, with its pneumatological nature and commitment to SDA, will present us with a view of SDA which gives the Spirit a fitting role. If the pentecostal position proves itself a viable option in its conversation with the sciences, it will serve as a fruitful perspective.
