Abstract:
Abstract Background: As a dimension of data quality in electronic health records (EHR), data completeness plays an important role in improving quality of care. Although many studies of data management focus on constructing the factors that influence data quality for the purpose of quality improvement, the constructs that are developed for interpreting factors influencing data completeness in the EHR context have received limited attention. Methods: Based on related studies, we constructed the factors influencing EHR data completeness in a conceptual model. We then examined the proposed model by surveying clinical practitioners in China. Results: Our results show that the data quality management literature can serve as a starting point to derive a conceptual model of factors influencing data completeness in the EHR context. This study also demonstrates that “resources” should be added as a factor that influences data completeness in EHR. Conclusion: Our resulting conceptual model shows a substantial explanation of data completeness in EHR assessed in this study. Although the proposed relationships between the included factors were previously supported in the literature, our work provides the beginning empirical evidence that some relationships may not be always significantly supported. The possible explanation of these differences has been discussed in the present research. This study thus benefits decision makers and EHR program managers in implementing EHR as well as EHR vendors in the EHR integration by addressing data completeness issues.

Abstract:
Since the outbreak of the epidemic in 2019, the world economy has been in a lot of trouble. Among the various sectors, the catering industry has borne the brunt of this unprecedented crisis, facing unparalleled challenges and setbacks. During this time, Yum China has handled the epidemic differently than other food service businesses and hasn't had any trouble with business because of it. The goal of this paper was to look at why Yum China can still be successful even though there is an epidemic. This paper demonstrated the reasons for Yum Chinas success in the epidemic. This paper finally found that Yum Chinas success in the epidemic had the following three reasons: At first, the high-quality digital platform enabled Yum China to take a leading position in the industry. In the future, Yum China will continue to increase its investment in digitalization and maintain its leading role. Secondly, the strong safety and health measures had ensured the safety and stability of Yum Chinas customer base during the epidemic. However, Yum China should pay more attention to food safety after the epidemic. Thirdly, Yum China's strong supply chain management had ensured the stable import of raw materials and cost control during the epidemic. Yum China should continue to strengthen its investment in supply chain management to consolidate strong supply chain advantages.

Chen, Xinshan. "Forensic Pathological Study of 115 Deaths in Custody in China." International Journal of Forensic Sciences 8, no. 2 (2023): 1–6. http://dx.doi.org/10.23880/ijfsc-16000298.

Abstract:
Deaths in custody or during contact with law enforcement attract considerable public concern. A retrospective study was undertaken involving 115 autopsied cases of people who died in custody from 2000 to 2009. The cases are from the files of the Department of Forensic Pathology, Tongji Medical College, HUST, Wuhan. There was a preponderance of males (113 cases) with only two (2) deaths of women. The age range of the males was from 15 to 77 years. 96 (83.5%) of these males were young adults ranging in age from 20 to 49 year. 70 (60.9%) were peasants. The interval between death and autopsy of 53 (46.1%) cases was within 48 h. Of the 111 cases with known causes of death, most of them (83 cases, 72.1%) died of natural disease and the remainder were violent deaths. Regarding the manner of death: 83 cases were natural deaths, of which 39 (47%) were from cardiovascular disease; 23 cases were suicide; 5 cases were accidental death; 4 cases were undetermined. These data are consistent with the fact that most criminal offenders are young adult men and that the main causes of death in custody are natural. Suicide is a well-recognized phenomenon amongst deaths in custody globally and prevention of suicide is a significant challenge for custodial authorities. It is suggested that all police and law enforcement units should strengthen efforts to prevent and manage natural disease in custody.

Abstract:
From the survey results of children's health level in China in recent years, the health level of children's residents has been continuously improved, but compared with the health level of children in some developed countries, there is still room for improvement. In recent years, China has done a lot of research on children's physical health and accumulated rich experience, but there are still deficiencies in the research on preschool children's physical health; at the same time, there is still a lack of national relevant research on the index system of comprehensive evaluation of preschool children's physical health. Therefore, this study aims to make a preliminary review of the physical health of Chinese preschool children, put forward some problems found in the physical health evaluation, and provide a theoretical reference for better developing the physical health evaluation of preschool children in China in the future.

Abstract:
The idea of educational equity has a long history, and the pursuit of educational justice is a long-standing human society ideal. China is one of the largest educational countries in the world. The government has been working hard for educational equity. With the continuous development of society, many educational hidden dangers left in the past have gradually emerged. The main research object of this paper is the inequity phenomenon in modern Chinas education circumstances, and through the research data, policies, and existing research theories to look for the root of the inequity in Chinas education. The results of the study found that it is difficult to generalize the root causes of the existing educational inequity in China. Policies, resources, and regions are one of the main manifestations of inequity, among which resources are the most important. Their origins are interrelated, and inequality of opportunity is one of the reasons. This paper puts forward some feasible schemes to improve the current situation of educational inequity in China from the perspective of different areas.

Abstract:
It is commonly stated that the press in China can be divided into two main categories, the party-oriented official press and the market-oriented commercial press. This article examines an official paper, China Youth Daily, which is a central organ of the Communist Youth League of China. The findings of a content analysis demonstrate that this title differs significantly from other central official titles, like People’s Daily, but also from commercial papers, like Southern Metropolis Daily. While China Youth Daily’s journalism is close to the official pole in the amount of propaganda-related material it covers, it also has a greater emphasis on watchdog journalism than does People’s Daily. It places a much greater emphasis on infotainment than do either of the official and commercial poles. It is more likely to use journalistic techniques like sensationalism and the revelation of personal details than are the other titles analysed. These findings lead to the conclusion that the bi-polar characterization of the Chinese press requires modification. At least one prominent national title is best described as ‘popular official’ media. One of the main features of this kind of journalism is that it presents the party and business elite in a human light and thus constitutes a renewal of the repertoire of hegemonic devices at the party’s disposal. What is certainly the case is that the frequent claim that there is a contradiction between popular journalism responding to audience tastes and official journalism constrained by the propaganda needs of the party is mistaken.

Abstract:
The Belt and Road Initiative is a grand plan proposed by China to promote the common development and prosperity of China and its partner countries. With the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the flagship of the Belt and Road Initiative, China-Pakistan relations are getting closer, known as the “iron brother”. Economic cooperation is a key priority for both sides. Under the context of the Belt and Road Initiative, this study uses trade data of China and Pakistan to find out the bilateral trade problems and the influencing factors behind them. This study will discuss the above questions and propose some suggestions for policymakers. Specifically, the discussion of the problems was conducted in terms of GDP, population, comparative advantages, international environment, domestic environment, and other factors respectively. In the conclusion part, the author suggests that the two countries should try to improve their domestic/international environment and reduce policy barriers to promote the trade. Modern industrial parks are encouraged to solve the problems. This study on the influencing factors and economic trade relations between China and Pakistan hopes to provide some academic references to the study of the CPEC and provide some guidance to the policy makers.

Abstract:
Purpose - Given that China Evergrande Group has recently been caught in a liquidity risk, the purpose of this study is to identify and assess its liquidity using traditional financial indexes. We analyze the reasons for the liquidity risk exposures, so as to provide practical implications for real estate companies. Design/Methodology/Approach - This study combines the principal-agent and the trade-off theories in order to analyze China Evergrande Group’s exposure to liquidity risk under the leverage effect. In addition, China Evergrande Group’s financial position is analyzed in depth, and its liquidity risk is defined and identified. Findings - The results show that under the high leverage effect, the company suffers from a high liquidity risk, and eventually falls into a financial crisis due to the shortage of cash for short-term debt accumulated in previous periods, and the long delay in returns on property sales. Research Implications - This study provides a new perspective for debt research by examining the leverage and liquidity risk of real estate-related enterprises. During the golden era of the real estate industry, real estate enterprises should uphold the principle of moderation in debt management, make reasonable use of financial leverage, clarify the strategic goal of diversification, and avoid credit risk.

Abstract:
Background: Unfavourable blood pressure (BP) level is an established risk factor for cardiovascular diseases (CVD), while the exact underlying reasons for unfavourable BP are poorly understood. The INTERMAP China Prospective (ICP) Study is a prospective cohort to investigate the relationship of environmental and nutritional risk factors with key indicators of vascular function including BP, arterial stiffness, and carotid-intima media thickness. Methods: A total of 839 Chinese participants aged 40-59 years from three diverse regions of China were enrolled in INTERMAP in 1997/98; data collection included repeated BP measurements, 24-hour urine specimens, and 24-hour dietary recalls. In 2015/16, 574 of these 839 persons were re-enrolled along with 208 new participants aged 40-59 years that were randomly selected from the same study villages. Participant’s environmental and dietary exposures and health outcomes were assessed in this open cohort study, including BP, 24-hour dietary recalls, personal exposures to air pollution, grip strength, arterial stiffness, carotid-media thickness and plaques, cognitive function, and sleep patterns. Serum and plasma specimens were collected with 24-hour urine specimens. Discussion: Winter and summer assessments of a comprehensive set of vascular indicators and their environmental and nutritional risk factors were conducted with high precision. We will leverage advances in exposome research to identify biomarkers of exposure to environmental and nutritional risk factors and improve our understanding of the mechanisms and pathways of their hazardous cardiovascular effects. The ICP Study is observational by design, thus subject to several biases including selection bias (e.g., loss to follow-up), information bias (e.g., measurement error), and confounding that we sought to mitigate through our study design and measurements. However, extensive efforts will apply to minimize those limitations (continuous observer training, repeated measurements of BP, standardized methods in data collection and measurements, and on-going quality control).

Abstract:
Purpose – This study addresses the development of China’s semiconductor industry in the context of the U.S.-China trade conflict, and analyzes the impact on other industries. Design/Methodology/Approach – Based on the multi-regional input-output table industry splitting method, the electrical and electronic equipment manufacturing industry in the Asian Development Bank’s multi-regional input-output table (ADB-MRIO, 2019) is split into semiconductor and non-semiconductor industries, and the impact of U.S. export controls on China’s semiconductor exports on domestic and foreign economies is simulated and analyzed using the hypothesis extraction and hypothesis expansion methods. Findings – The United States has suffered more than China from US export controls on semiconductors to China, and the impact of U.S. export controls on U.S. GDP decreasing by at most 0.0124‰, and China’s GDP decreasing by at most 0.00089‰. Since Japan, Korea, and European countries have become China’s semiconductor import substitutes, they all benefit from U.S. export controls on China. Second, the most affected industries in China are the chemical products, metal products, wholesale, financial, and non-semiconductor industries in the electrical and electronic equipment manufacturing industry. Research Implications – China should adopt coping strategies such as deepening international exchanges, enhancing communication between China and the U.S., and strengthening its scientific and technological strength.

Abstract:
After the Korean Armistice Agreement in 1953, the direct war between the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) and United States was temporarily halted. But the subsequent issues relating to the prisons of war, China students studied at US and the collusion between US and Taiwan, made the tensions between the PRC and US government. In order to resolve the American spy case, the United States manipulated the UN General Assembly (UNGA) to pass a resolution which Dag Hammarskjld, Secretary-General of the United Nations(UNSG), was mandated to visit China to solve this issue. This incident offered the PRC government a rare opportunity to engage with the UN and participate in global affairs. Zhou Enlai, the Chinese Foreign Minister, successfully defended Chinas sovereignty. This engagement helped to highlight the newly established PRCs position in the international affairs during Cold War while alleviate the tense atmosphere between China and the United States. This event also provided crucial groundwork for the resolution of issues concerning Chinese-American immigrants.

Abstract:
According to the basic characteristics of a socialist modernization state in China, Chinas modernization aims for a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. China strives to achieve carbon peaking by 2030. Therefore, this article mainly focuses on the connection between the electric vehicle industry chain and the Chinese-style modernization, as well as an empirical analysis of Chinas 2030 carbon peaking goal. This article divides Chinas green modernization measurement into two parts. In the first part, Chinas green modernization can be measured by the level of modernization in each province. The article uses PCA (Principal Component Analysis) to reduce data dimensions and analyze correlations among selected indicators. Then, the Six-factor TOPSIS-Entropy Method is utilized for weight evaluation to calculate the level of modernization in different provinces, resulting in an overall domestic modernization level of 65.741%. In the second part, an empirical analysis of Chinas commitment to achieving carbon peaking by 2030 is conducted. An improved SIRD-NM dynamic model is employed to predict the number of new energy vehicles, and then the feasibility of achieving the commitment is studied. The results indicate that the contribution of the development of new energy vehicles to carbon peaking reaches 5.42%. China has a high feasibility of achieving carbon peaking by 2030.

Abstract:
This present study investigated the relationship between Chinese senior high school students’ mastery of pronunciation features and their speaking fluency. Sixty-six second-year Chinese senior high school students participated in this study. The first instrument measured subjects’ mastery of pronunciation features consisting of six categories: vowels, consonants, linking, assimilation, intonation and stress while the second one assessed their three aspects of speaking fluency by reading a text: pause, repetition and speech rate. The results of data analysis showed most subjects in this study performed well on segmental features, but their performance on supra-segmental features were weak. Moreover, subjects from the high supra-segmental group outperformed low supra-segmental group in the uses of stress, intonation and linking. Based on the results, employing consciousness-raising activities for teaching pronun- ciation were suggested for improving students’ pronunciation skills.

Abstract:
China has achieved extraordinary economic growth and development in last three decades since launch of open economic policy in 1978. Sri Lanka restructured its economy in 1977 as well, with aspiration of achieving sustainable economic growth and development. However, the growth performance of Sri Lanka since the initiation of the reforms has been relatively low and falling behind on many of fronts relative to the Chinese performance indicators, whereas the initial characteristics of the two countries and reforms are mostly comparable. This paper basically aimed to investigate the factors influencing the creation of the gap in growth performance between China and Sri Lanka over the past three decades after their economic reforms. The findings show that attraction of foreign direct investment, governance related factors and approaches used in the post reforms period are more vital in driving divergence in growth performance between the two countries.

Abstract:
China English, standard English with Chinese characteristics, exists largely in English translation of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) terms with unique Chinese philosophy and culture. This study conducts a translation criticism on English Translation of TCM terms selected from Classified Dictionary of Traditional Chinese Medicine from the perspective of China English under the guidance of Coordination Theory of Translation, that is, translators are required to coordinate all aspects and relationships in translation to the greatest extent. The key issues to be resolved in this study are as follows: 1) What are the word-formation methods of China English in the translation of TCM terms? 2) How should English translations of TCM terms in Classified Dictionary of Traditional Chinese Medicine be evaluated? 3) What strategies, methods, and techniques should be adopted in English translation of TCM terms? Through the translation criticism of typical cases, conclusions are made as follows: firstly, domestication and foreignization strategies should be used together in a coordinated way on translation of TCM terms; secondly, as for terms whose corresponding expressions cannot be found in Western medicine, the translator should coordinate the use of various translation methods and techniques, such as literal translation plus free translation, transliteration with annotation, and literal translation with annotation. The findings of this study are expected to promote the normalization and standardization of English translation of TCM terms as well as provide some implications for future studies on TCM translation.

Abstract:
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to evaluate the risk-return of China’s corporate annuity portfolio. In addition, it aims to enhance the quality of corporate annuity principals to strengthen corporate annuity control and risk-return evaluation by setting performance benchmarks to evaluate the investment portfolio mechanism of the investment manager. Design/Methodology/Approach - This study combines modern portfolio theory, financial regulation theory, and risk management theory to analyze the risk-return of corporate annuity portfolios of Qiming Venture Partners. The three analysis methods, VaR, Mean-Variance, and Sharp, were used to establish a risk-return analysis mechanism for the portfolio of corporate annuities and securities. Findings - The results of the study show that the risk-return prediction evaluation model is useful for the preinvestment and post-investment risk-return evaluation of annuity portfolios, and for companies to evaluate the effectiveness of investment manager portfolios. Research Implications - Corporate annuities need to be cautious in launching new products. They should prioritize the allocation of equity assets with more mature portfolios, and relax country-specific allocation limits. The number of investment portfolios should be increased, the types of asset allocation portfolios should be enriched, and the risk regulation system should be actively applied.
