Abstract:
We aimed to systematize and assess scientific information on tetracycline (TET) resistance genes in animals, products, and by-products in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region. PRISMA guidelines were followed. Only original articles published in peer-reviewed journals were considered. Sixty articles published between 2003 and 2023 met the inclusion criteria. The geographical areas of study were Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Costa Rica, and, to a lesser extent, Colombia, Bolivia, Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay. The studies were related to livestock, wild animals, and pets. The most common isolated bacteria were Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp. The tet genes found in higher frequency in the samples or isolates evaluated were tetA, tetB, tetM, tetL, tetK, tetC, tetO, tetD, tetG, tetW, tetS, tetQ, tetE, tetH, tetJ, tetZ, and tetY. Studies evaluating the presence of tet genes in animals in LAC are limited despite TET being antibiotics widely used in animals. It is necessary to establish cross border public policies that allow the constant training of medical and related personnel regarding the responsible use of antibiotics in animals and the effective monitoring of the phenomenon in the region.

Abstract:
Egyetemi diplomamunkám témájaként a Google cég piaci stratégiai elemzését választottam. Abstract:
The study aimed to examine past study publication trends for turnover intention over 39 (thirty-nine) years (1982 to 2021). Bibliometric analysis was conducted through the searching method on the Scopus database. The search string for the Scopus database was conducted systematically. A total of 2215 documents were identified and screened for the scope of this study. Data screening was performed, and no duplicates were found in the document list. Therefore, 445 documents were removed. A total of 1770 published articles were analysed using Microsoft Excel, VOSviewer, and Harzing’s Publish or Perish. The analysis revealed that the study of turnover intentions displays an increasing trend annually. The majority of articles are published in English, whereas the United States of America (USA) generated the highest number of publications. Osman M. Karatepe is the author with the highest number of publications and article citations in this analysis. The Journal of Vocational Behavior has the highest citation impact. In addition, a well-known publication entitled "Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment, Turnover Intention, and Turnover: Path Analyses Based on Meta-Analytic Findings" authored by Tett and Meyer (1993) has the highest citation with 65.21 per year. Concepts related to turnover intention such as job satisfaction, nurses, organizational commitment, turnover and burnout were the most frequently studied. In addition, this study also contributed to historical development, scientific development and identified research gaps to be filled in the future.

Abstract:
Publishing scientific articles online in journals is a must for researchers or academics. In choosing the journal of purpose, the researcher must look at important information on the journal's web, such as indexing, scope, fee, quarter and other information. This information is generally not collected in one page, but spread over several pages in a web journal. This will be complicated when researchers have to look at information in several journals, moreover, the information in these journals may change at any time. In this research, web harvesting design is conducted to retrieve information on web journals. With web harvesting, information that is spread across several pages can be collected into one, and researchers do not need to worry if the information has changed, because the information collected is the last or updated information. Harvesting technique is done by taking the page URL of the page, starting the source code from where the information is retrieved and end source code until the information stops being retrieved. Harvesting technique was successfully developed based on the web bootstrap framework. The test data is taken from several scientific journal webs. The information collected includes name, description, accreditation, indexing, scope, publication rate, publication charge, template and quarter. Based on tests carried out using black box testing, it is known that all the features made are as expected.

Abstract:
Activities with service journal managers as research targets aim to increase managers' knowledge about management and journal articles' substance quality. Manager's knowledge which is the focus of activities, refers to the accreditation assessment of national journals. The main target of community service activities is the manager of the university service journal in Semarang. The method of mentoring activities is carried out online, divided into two forms: for management and article substance. Evaluation of activities was carried out through analysis of the value of pre-test and post-test questions on journal management and article substance and questionnaire analysis of participants' feedback. The average pre-test score is 65, and the post-test is 84, indicating an increase in knowledge on the target activities. From the mentoring in publishing service journals that have been carried out, the journal manager (the target of the activity) has had broader knowledge about the management and substance of the article. The accreditation simulation in the mentoring process has provided an authentic experience for managers to be more prepared to propose accreditation and reaccreditation of service journals.

Abstract:
The aim of the presented research was to evaluate wear effects of bearing elements in case of modification based on laser alloying with boron of journal surface layer. The research was performed on ZPG-IV tribology tester with journal-bearing friction pair. During the test load was applied progressively. SEM microscopes and non-contact 3D optical profilografometr was used to assess the test results. Study of the character of the wear process allowed to state, that after each increase of load during the test, rapid change of the value of oil temperature and the value of resistance in journal-pan contact was appeared. Then, the stabilization period was followed by. Some differences in the way of those processes between tested variants were noticed. Firstly, during the stabilization period larger thickness of the oil film at the journal-pan interface was notice in case of journal after laser treatment than in case of untreated journal. Secondly, it could be expected that oil temperature will be lower in case of longer time of tribological test for treated journal (than for untreated journal). It should favor better wear resistance of this kinematic node. Macro and microscopic observations of both types of surface after wear test allow to state, that journals after laser treatment were characterized by less wear effects, as cavities in the surface layer in comparison to untreated journals. More intensive wear of journals without treatment was confirmed by stereometric research and measurements of surface roughness parameters. This research allow to state positive laser treatment influence on the wear resistance of the journal. Although, there was no larger loss of the surface layer in case of pans after cooperation with hard journal after laser treatment (describe by the decrease of pans’ thickness) then loss of the surface layer in case of pans after cooperation with softer untreated journal (nearly 5-times softer than the surface layer of treated journal), the microscopic observations and measurement of the parameters of stereometric structure of their surface showed more intensive wear of pan after cooperation with treated journal.

Abstract:
Historically, ANOVA has been the most prevalent statistical method used in educational and psychological research and today ANOVA continues to be widely used. A comprehensive review published in 1998 examined several APA journals and discovered persistent concerns in ANOVA reporting practices. The present authors examined all articles published in 2012 in three APA journals (Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Counseling Psychology, and Journal of Personality and Social Psychology) to review ANOVA reporting practices including p values and effect sizes. Results indicated that ANOVA continues to be prevalent in the reviewed journals as a test of the primary research question, as well as to test conditional assumptions prior to the primary analysis. Still, ANOVA reporting practices are essentially unchanged from what was previously reported. However, effect size reporting has improved.

Abstract:
This research aims to better understand how organizational communication texts contribute to the setting of a strategic discourse and a textual agency by focusing on the process of elaboration of an in-house journal. Our main topics of interest are the personal strategies of those who contribute to the preparation of the in-house journal, the reasons for their day-to-day involvement and the change it brings to the working practice. Our approach is structured around participant observation within the Communication department of Préventika. Based on the data collected for a period of two years, we conduct a mixed methods analysis (thematic and longitudinal) of eleven editions of the in-house journal since its creation. This research contributes to the textual agency approach developed by The Montréal School of Organizational Communication in which the in-house journal texts are seen as agents able to act on and to make act on the organization and its members

Abstract:
While there has been substantial body of work in the field of journal bearing research, much of it is today theoretical or simulated due to today’s computing power. Scania produces experimental data from motor testing, but these are expensive and time consuming. Furthermore there is a difficulty in keeping a sufficiently controlled environment, which at times makes it hard to draw conclusions from testing results. They therefore wish to develop a test-rig which can evaluate friction and wear in journal bearings. This thesis is a continuation of a project in the course Advanced Machine Design given at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. During this thesis the test-rig has been manufactured, built, and evaluated. Furthermore software for the test-rig was developed. Information on journal bearings, risk assessment and signal noise handling were sought. Mechanical development was done with Autodesk Inventor, while Matlab was used for software development. Factorial design was utilised when designing tests and compared to a simple theoretical model. Test results showed promising results for Stribeck curve-producing tests, with good resemblance to known frictional values and trends. Furthermore the test-rig showed good repeatability for replicated tests and produced wear on the bearing shells used. During a prolonged test, the shaft and support-bearings were damaged and requires servicing to be in an operational state. The test-rig requires to be further verified, but the tests that were carried out showed valuable and reliable information on wear and frictional values. Keywords: journal bearing, hydrodynamic lubrication, wear, start-stop, test-rig
Abstract:
Hydrodynamic journal bearings are applied in a wide range of both old and new, advanced rotating machinery designs. To maintain existing machinery, as well as to design new, state of the art machines, validated analytical models for these bearings are needed. This work documents the development and evaluation of an automated test rig for the evaluation of hydrodynamic journal bearings to provide some of the needed experimental data. This work describes the test rig in detail, including the results of experimental characterization of many of the test rig subsystems. Experimental data for a two axial groove bearing and a pressure dam bearing under steady load conditions are presented for a range of loads at two different shaft speeds. Experimental data and analytical results for dynamic loading are also discussed. The work concludes with a summary of the state of the test rig and recommendations for further work.

Abstract:
If we consider a discipline as a historical product of the dynamics that exist between institutions, scientific communities and their practices (Danziger, 1995), scientific production, as a product of these dynamics, can be considered crucial to outline its history. Studying the history of a discipline starting from its scientific production means understanding how it is built around a specific community, since it contains its theories, methods and fields of application (Trevisani & Tuzzi, 2015, 2018). The aim of the present dissertation is to offer a representation of the history of social psychology in two communities or centres (cf. Danziger, 1996), European and North American, which are historically linked and at the core of debated issues in the field. Thus, we started from the study of the temporal evolution of contents in two central journals in their respective contexts: European Journal of Social Psychology and Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. In particular, we intend: 1) to offer a reflection on the contribution of the methods used to portray a history of a discipline, 2) to identify the direction of publications by highlighting hegemonic or marginal perspectives and methods and 3) to contribute to a reflection on the discipline itself. Since these journals convey the contents of the articles through keywords, all the titles and the abstracts of the two journals have been collected from their foundation (1971 and 1965 respectively) until the last issue of 2016. By means of a (lexical) correspondence analysis (SPAD software), the existence of a latent temporal pattern in keywords' occurrences has been explored. An overview of the words that characterised each year in each corpus is presented to observe and compare debated themes, processes, and methods covered by the two journals throughout the years. Furthermore, the main debated topics (that are clusters of words with a common meaning) by the journals and their temporal trajectories have been identified and compared by means of Reinert's method (1986) (IRaMuTeQ and R software) and Latent Dirichlet Allocation (Blei, Ng, & Jordan, 2003) (implemented in the R environment). The individual trajectories of the keywords were then tracked and grouped together based on their temporal pattern (Functional Data Analysis and Curve Clustering) in order to identify their "life cycle" (Trevisani & Tuzzi, 2015; 2018). Finally, some interviews with social psychologists were carried out to discuss some of the outcomes of the analyses, they were also invited to highlight methods and perspectives that might remain marginal to the field and to discuss on the overall history and development of the discipline. The results from all the moments of data collection and analysis were discussed a) by making a comparison between the journals and the literature, b) with respect to the methods used and c) reflecting on some questions posed in the beginning of this project - or that have emerged during the course of the work -considered relevant to fully explore the influence the history of the discipline to the field of Social Psychology.

Abstract:
The uprising which shook France in May 1968 also had a revolutionary effect on the country's most prominent film journal. Under editors Jean-Louis Comolli and Jean Narboni, Cahiers du cinéma embarked on a militant turn that would govern the journal's work over the next five years. With a Marxist orientation inspired by the thinking of Louis Althusser, Jacques Lacan and Roland Barthes, the "red years" of Cahiers du cinéma produced a theoretical outpouring that was formative for the establishment of film studies as an academic discipline in the 1970s, and is still of vital relevance for the contemporary audiovisual landscape. It was also the seminal experience for a generation of critics who have dedicated the following half-century to the task of critically responding to the cinema. The Red Years of Cahiers du Cinéma (1968-1973) gives a historical overview of this period in the journal's history, combining biographical accounts of the critics who were involved with Cahiers in the post-1968 and theoretical explorations of the text they wrote.

Abstract:
AbstractFinding a suitable open access journal to publish scientific work is a complex task: Researchers have to navigate a constantly growing number of journals, institutional agreements with publishers, funders’ conditions and the risk of Predatory Publishers. To help with these challenges, we introduce a web-based journal recommendation system called B!SON. It is developed based on a systematic requirements analysis, built on open data, gives publisher-independent recommendations and works across domains. It suggests open access journals based on title, abstract and references provided by the user. The recommendation quality has been evaluated using a large test set of 10,000 articles. Development by two German scientific libraries ensures the longevity of the project.

Full text
Abstract:
Objectives: The cost-effectiveness terminology is a common term used in the critical care medicine research. A systematic review analysis was conducted to study the patterns of the use and misuse of the cost-effectiveness terminology in the critical care medicine literature between 1998 and 2018. Methods: A search in the inCite journal citation report was done to identify all the critical care medicine journals. An independednt search done to identify all the articles between 1980 to 2018 that claimed in their abstracts/article to perform a cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA). Eligible articles were included and analyzed using x2-test. The articles were categorized into four different levels based on the appropriateness of CEA terminology use. The analysis performed to assess the association between the appropriateness of CEA terminology and the journal impact factor (IF), author background, and the publication year (5-year time points). Results: Out of 7,835 articles in targeted subject category, 76 met the inclusion criteria, but 50 of them were analyzed. Of these 50 articles, 32 (64.0%) met the appropriate criterion of CEA terminology use. 71.4% of articles published in journals with IF: 3.0 - 21.4 were appropriately using CEA term compared to 54.5% studies that are published in journals with IF: 0.4 - 2.8. Of these articles, which are appropriately use CEA terminology, 56.2% of the articles have at least one author with health economics expertise. Conclusion and recommendation: The preliminary data suggest that there is an association between the level of appropriateness and journal impact factor and the author health-economic background authorship. However, we did not demonstrate changes in the level of appropriateness with time. Decision-makers, authors, and editors should pay better attention in seeking ways to monitor the appropriate use of “cost-effectiveness” terminology. More future studies should be done in this context.

Full text
Abstract:
The paper describes a synchronous vibration instability problem encountered on a centrifugal compressor with oil lubricated bearings. The problem was solved by modification of the compressor rotor, however the root cause was not completely understood at that time. A possible explanation was based on a theory which suggested differential heating of the bearing journals. It was decided to verify ibis theory by experiments. Therefore a test rotor was designed with identical rotor dynamic characteristics to those of the compressor rotor. In order to fill a gap in the published research on bearing thermohydrodynamics an experimental technique was devised to measure the surface temperature variations around one of the journals of this rotor. The dependence of significant temperature differentials across the journal upon its orbit was confirmed.

The authors use an example of Russian journals in Earth sciences to analyze the availability of altmetrics for additional evaluation of different features of serials. The set of altmetrics aggregated by Plum Analytics on the Scopus platform was studied. We demonstrate the availability and applicability of the altmetrics like abstract views, full-text views, and a share of viewed items for journal assessment; high dependence between these altmetrics and traditional citation-based approaches is detected. Providing enhanced possibilities of automatic processing of altmetrics and wider covering of Russian sources, altmetrics may become a valuable scientometric tool in some complicated cases.

Abstract:
When Michael Hart initiated his ambitious Gutenberg project of computer re-writing essential literature books, in 1971, sure it was very difficult to imagine our today dependency of digital devices and social media. To type on the those time typewriter devices the basic scholarly novels it was a difficult option for a 24 years man, proven a visionary thinking to the people future access. It was ten years before the lunching the IBM PC's, and Internet Protocols, in a time of the firsts text editors... Twenty years before the first World Wide Web real demo ... But Michael Hart succeeded to build a community of volunteers, delivering free the project results, digital books (through floppies, diskettes, tapes, and later on CD-ROM, or DVDs. Gutenberg project arrived as a model for many libraries to save their depots and manuscripts. Networking and Internet services (email and FTP) already gave new solutions for distribution and visibility of Gutenberg project, for access to digital books. For scientists it was another need, the better access to the scientific publications, an easier way to publish their results. Consequently, quite in the same time when CERN accepted to finance the Tim Berners Lee proposal, the firsts signs of a movement for open access publications are registered. As a nice example, PACS Review (Public Access Computer Science Review), at the Houston University, prepared and announced in 1989, with its first 3 numbers in 1990. A journal delivered as ASCII file, by email, later through a Gopher server, and finally-from 1995 on-line, through the Houston University Web server (HTML, or ASCII format). PACS Review publication stops in 2000. Since 1995 a really peer revue, quality, open journal was launched by Cristian Calude, Herman Maurer, Arto Salomaa at Graz University, called JUCS - ,,Journal of Universal Computer Science". A journal with very regular publication till now. There are, of course, a lot of other interesting examples of electronic (digital) open access journals, in different fields. A new step in this evolution was done through the development of the open source tools for the management of such digital journals into the Web server infrastructure. It was done by the initiative and efforts of John Willinsky, through his PKP - Public Knowledge Project - a multi-university initiative developing free open source software and conducting research to improve the quality and reach of scholarly publishing. PKP was founded in 1998 at the Education Faculty of UBC, with the aim to improve the research quality. Another important steps necessary to count of are the 2002 Budapest Open Access Initiative, and the MIT university decision to publish their course materials, generating the corresponding consortium. As an answer to Budapest Open Access Initiative, it is the developing of an on-line catalog of Open Access Journals - DOAJ (build and maintained by Lars Bjornshauge from 2003 until 2013 at the Lund University, recently moved at Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association - OASPA. Into this catalog there are included now about 10.000 Open Access Journals. Of course that in such a paper it isn't possible to escape the competition, more a less a battle between Online Open-Access journals and traditional ones. As well to discus the issue of fake publishers or publishers not living up to reasonable standards both in terms of content and of business behavior. Does all this Open Access movement change a bit the perspectives concerning the transformation of the teachers role in the "Web 2.0 Era" ?

Abstract:
A new rig to test journal fluid film bearings was designed, manufacture and installed at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. This rig can apply total radial loads to 133,000 N (30,000 lbs) and can rotate the shaft to speeds to 13,000 RPM. The test bearing has a diameter of 68 mm and is 38 mm long. Two such bearings are used to support the total load. The shaft is also supported by two fluid film bearings. The rig is well instrumented for measuring oil flow, oil inlet and outlet temperatures, bearing sleeve temperatures along its circumference and the oil temperatures in oil supply pockets. The shaft position is monitored by proximity probes. Vibration levels at four locations are also displayed and recorded. Preliminary tests of wave bearings at 8,000 RPM and loads to 20,000 N (4,500 lbs) show a good correlation between the test and prediction data.

"A Systematic Approach to Estimate the Impact of the Aerodynamic Force Induced by Rotating Stall in a Vaneless Diffuser on the Rotordynamic Behavior of Centrifugal Compressors." In ASME Turbo Expo 2013: Turbine Technical Conference and Exposition. American Society of Mechanical Engineers, 2013. http://dx.doi.org/10.1115/gt2013-95754.

Full text
Abstract:
One of the main challenges of the present industrial research on centrifugal compressors is the need of extending the left margin of the operating range of the machines. As a result, interest is being paid in accurately evaluating the amplitude of the pressure fluctuations caused by rotating stall, which usually occurs prior to surge. The related aerodynamic force acting on the rotor can produce subsynchronous vibrations, which can prevent the machine to further operate, in case their amplitude is too high. These vibrations are often contained thanks to the stiffness of the oil journals. Centrifugal compressors design is, however, going towards alternative journal solutions having lower stiffness levels (e.g. Active Magnetic Bearings or Squeeze Film Dampers), which hence will be more sensitive to this kind of excitation: consequently, a more accurate estimation of the expected forces in presence of dynamic external forces like those connected to an aerodynamically unstable condition is needed to predict the vibration level and the compressor operability in similar conditions. Within this scenario, experimental tests were carried out on an industrial impeller operating at high peripheral Mach number. The dedicated test rig was equipped with several dynamic pressure probes that were inserted in the gas flow path; moreover, the rotor vibrations were constantly monitored with typical vibration probes located near the journal bearings. The pressure field induced by the rotating stall in the vaneless diffuser was reconstructed by means of an ensemble average approach, defining the amplitude and frequency of the external force acting on the impeller. The calculated force value was then included in the rotordynamic model of the test rig: the predicted vibrations on the bearings were compared with the measurements, showing satisfactory agreement. Finally, the prospects of the proposed approach are discussed by investigating the response of a real machine in high-pressure functioning when different choices of journal bearings are made.

Melnyk, Yuriy. Academic Journal Website Model. KRPOCH, 2018. http://dx.doi.org/10.26697/preprint.melnyk.1.2018.

Full text
Abstract:
Background: The tens of thousands of academic journal websites that are on the Internet today often do not have a clear organizational structure for their website. If most of them are convenient enough for readers (if the journal is open access), then many have problems informing authors about the conditions, the process of submitting and reviewing the manuscript. The Editorial Offices empirically populate the journal's website with content that can change dramatically (both in terms of website design and content) as the journal develops. Aim of Study: To develop a website model for an academic journal that takes into account the basic requirements for the preparation, publication, and archiving of high quality scientific manuscripts. Material and Methods: The academic journal website model is based on a structural-functional approach. The website content consists of text and integrated applications. This model takes into account the basic requirements for the preparation, publication, and archiving of high-quality open access scientific manuscripts, as well as the indexing of journal articles by leading indexing agencies. Results: The academic journal website model is structured with the following menu and submenu elements: 1. HOME: 1.1. Journal information; 1.2. From the editorial office; 1.3. Databases, Indexing; 2. EDITORIAL BOARD: 2.1. Editorial board; 2.2. Reviewers; 2.3. Editing and reviewing process; 3. EDITORIAL POLICIES: 3.1. Editorial policies; 3.2. Plagiarism policy; 3.3. Open access policy; 3.4. The ethics codex of scientific publications; 3.5. Disclaimer; 3.6. License terms; 3.7. Terms of publications (fee); 4. ARCHIV: 4.1. Previous issues; 4.2. Current issue; 4.3. Articles online first; 5. INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS: 5.1. General recommendations; 5.2. Manuscript templates; 5.3. Supplemental materials; 6. STATISTICS: 6.1. Publications; 6.2. Authors; 6.3. Readers; 7. CONTACTS: 7.1. Contact; 7.2. Subscriptions; 7.3. Search. Conclusions: This academic journal website model was implemented for the International Journal of Science Annals (IJSA). Authors and readers of IJSA noted the advantages of the model proposed by the author, including: a convenient and understandable website interface, the availability of the necessary hyperlinks to the pages of the journal's website and external media (sites of indexed agencies, library archives, etc.), convenient search for information on the website and published in the journal articles (by author, publication, text of the article), availability of integrated applications (online submission of manuscripts, filing appeals against the decision of reviewers and complaints about published articles, viewing the interactive printed version of the journal, etc.), availability of templates (for authors, reviewers), availability of multiple formats for archiving articles (PDF, DOAJ, XML, TXT), the ability to choose the style of citing the article and the website language (English, Ukrainian), etc. Keywords: journal, model, website, academic, indexing

Abstract:
Eliciting lived experiences, we seek to identify those experiences that have shaped the lived practice of a career and desire to answer: (1) How have experiences informed a career? (2) What does the lived educational experiences of an educator portend for the future of education? This inquiry incorporates the lived past experiences of the co-authors. Additionally, we seek to offer a path forward for the future of the profession that we love and have been grateful to experience. This data was part of a hermeneutic inquiry research project involving myself and my father, Dr. Leonard L. Gregory. The data was recorded utilizing a phone recording and then setting up a zoom meeting whereby the audio was converted onto a word document. From there, the data was uploaded into Dedoose where it was stored and coded for initial themes. The journal entries that I made were from a personal print copy journal. I utilized this journal after the initial round of recordings with my father. I used it to jot down questions that I had from the previous meeting, and we utilized it to make notations of thoughts that we both had afterwards from the meetings we had. The text Conducting Hermeneutic Research: From philosophy to Practice by Nancy J. Moules, et al., was a key influence and outlines the use of my data according to hermeneutic standards.
