Abstract:
There is no generally accepted definition of a territory’s mission either in Russia or abroad. So is it worth including a mission in the strategy of socio-economic development of a territory and what definition of the mission is better to choose? To answer these questions, a content analysis of Russian and foreign definitions of the territory's mission has been carried out, from which common units of meaning were identified. It was established that a number of semantic units in definitions of the territory's mission and the mission of organization coincide. However, from the point of view of the mission statement, there are a number of significant differences between a territory and an organization, which makes some definitions of the territory’s mission hardly applicable in practice. Conclusion is made: it is better to define the territory's mission through its role in the external environment, functions and unique features of the territory. The article examines advantages and disadvantages of alternative options: not to develop a mission at all or to develop it in a purely formal way. Practical recommendations on developing a territory mission, examples from Russian and foreign experience are given.

Abstract:
Cardiff UniversityThis paper addresses the different functions of the construction of religious, i.e. sacred, space depending on whether such a construction is done in and for its own cultural sphere or whether it is done in and from a cultural context positioned outside the constructed space. This is demonstrated by two case studies of pilgrimage narratives. The first one concentrates on South-Asian culture (Kaśmīr, Nepal) in which two religious traditions (Buddhism, Hinduism) coexisted and constructed sacred space by either the same narratives or by similar but sufficiently different narratives to explain why these places were there and why they were sacred. The other example discusses the approach of culturally different and locally distant Chinese Buddhism towards Buddhist India, where it becomes clear that one of the functions of constructing space by description was to show that the places already known from a textual tradition, the Buddhist one, really existed.

Chukurna, Оlena, and Dmytro Nikolaiev. "Marketing strategy of territorial branding in the context of sustainable development." VUZF Review 6, no. 1 (March 25, 2021): 65–78. http://dx.doi.org/10.38188/2534-9228.21.6.07.

Abstract:
The article considers aspects of formation of marketing strategy of territory branding, yak the basis of strategic development. Attention is paid to the components of the strategy of sustainable development and its interaction with the elements of the territorial product and its influence on the image of the territory. A strategic analysis of the territory was carried out on the example of Odessa, which made it possible to form priorities for the strategic development of the territory. A marketing study was conducted by residents of Odessa regarding their attitude to the existing image of the city. Two main clusters of city residents were identified, depending on their perception of the image of the territory of residence. Proposals for the development of the territory's brand have been formed. Improved classification of marketing strategies for branding territories is proposed. This approach made it possible to formulate branding strategies for the territory in accordance with the goals of sustainable development. The classification has been expanded through the following positioning strategies: strategy of socio-economic image; strategy of environmental friendliness of the territory; strategy of a unique image of the territory; strategy for the image of a territory with a high level of comfort and safety; strategy of the territory's image as an innovation hub. This allows you to form strategies for branding the territory in accordance with the goals of sustainable development of the territory.

Abstract:
The history of print media in the Northern Territory is one of parish pumps and media moguls, Cold War tensions and human rights crusades. Locally printed and published newspapers have been pivotal to the development of a Northern Territory identity and the cultivation of the Territory's sense of difference from the rest of Australia. From the earliest newspapers – part news-sheet, part government gazette – to the colourful online edition of the NT News, the Territory has been defined by its press and has in turn defined it, in response to its remoteness and to its increasing non-Indigenous population. This article provides a brief overview of the Northern Territory press, the history of which remains poorly documented.

Eremeeva, Olga. "THE ROLE OF INVESTMENT PASSPORT IN INFORMING BUSINESSES ABOUT THE TERRITORY (AN EXAMPLE FROM THE REGIONS OF THE SIBERIAN FEDERAL DISTRICT)." Public Administration Issues, no. 1 (2024): 143–64. http://dx.doi.org/10.17323/1999-5431-2024-0-1-143-164.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the problem of a lack of a comprehensive source of information about the territory for investors. The possibilities of the investment passport in informing businesses about the territory are evaluated. The information requests of investors about the territory are determined on the basis of research by scientists-economists and business experts. The experience of existing investment passports in ten regions of the Siberian Federal District and the complex investment project "Yenisei Siberia" was analyzed. The list of quantitative and non-quantitative indicators of investment passports is compiled. The opportunities and weaknesses of statistical accounting in informing investors about the territory are shown. It is noted that in the regional statistics there are no indicators for the sections: natural resources, energy infrastructure, foreign economic activity, and existing investment projects and proposals. The article defines the composition of indicators of information about the territory that are necessary for the business community to make managerial decisions regarding the activities in the territory. It is proposed to include these indicators in the system of integrated reporting of the territory as a comprehensive source of information for different categories of users. Information for investors is classified by the territory's capitals: human, socio-infrastructural, natural, production and financial. The allocation of the territory's capitals is based on the International Fundamentals of Integrated Reporting. Reliable multifaceted information about the territory as part of integrated reporting will allow for long-term relations with investors.

Abstract:
Abstract This article studies the mission of French Discalced Carmelite friars in the seventeenth-century Dutch Republic. Established from 1647 onwards in The Hague, Leiden, and Amsterdam, the missionaries’ aim was to minister to the French-speaking Catholics of Holland, but they also sought to convert expatriate French Protestants as part of the wider Counter-Reformation campaign to win back souls lost to the Reformation. Despite conflict with the Walloon churches, however, the Carmelite mission was surprisingly successful in converting Huguenots to the Church of Rome, repatriating many of them to France in the wake of the Revocation. As such, this article sheds new light on the relationship between expatriate communities in Holland, arguing that the Dutch Republic was not only a safe haven for refugees, but also the scene of ongoing conflict between French Protestants and Catholics during the reign of Louis XIV.

Abstract:
Tracing the lineage of territorial theorization, from legal container through dialectical, strategic and rhizomatic interpretations, this paper contends that more-than-human aspects of territory have been routinely circumvented by scholars seeking to avoid its realist, imperialist intellectual past. However, with the crisis of representation in political theory precipitated by the planetary ecological crisis, territory as a material entity has sprung alive again. This paper proposes that a reinvigorated materialist approach, informed by Deleuze and Guattari’s writings on territorial assemblages as machinic, nomadic and affective, can offer a way out of the territorial trap, reclaiming nomos from its conservative, masculine heritage.
