The Canadian wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar Pasqua has good resistance to leaf rust (Puccinia recondita Rob. ex Desm.) and some sprouting resistance. Backcross F2 families were used to study the inheritance of leaf rust resistance in Pasqua. Based on the leaf rust resistance genotypes of its parents, Pasqua could have genes Lr11, Lr13, Lr14b, Lr16, Lr22, and Lr30. Of these, it was found to have Lr11, Lr13, Lr14b, and Lr30. As well, it has Lr34, which must have come from the cultivar Terenzio during the development of a Neepawa backcross line with Lr30. Key words: Triticum aestivum, wheat, leaf rust resistance

El artículo pretende investigar el uso del adjetivo lepidus en el Miles gloriosus, comenzando con el análisis del senex lepidus Periplectomenus y su aristia en 3.1. Se señalarán dos significadosde la palabra: por un lado, lepidus es la palabra clave que subraya la forma en que se alcanza el efecto cómico en la obra; por otro, representa una forma de vida e, indirectamente, un método de educación, como podemos observar en Los hermanos (Adelphoi ) de Terencio. Después de Plauto, este modelo será reutilizado activamente en la época republicana por Cicerón y Catulo antes de desaparecer en la época imperial, en la que las funciones y significados de lepidus se reducirán estrictamente y la palabra se empleará como marcadorpara introducir cuentos divertidos. The article aims to investigate the use of the adjective lepidus in the Miles gloriosus, beginning with the analysis of the senex lepidus Periplectomenus and his aristia in 3.1. Two meanings of the word will be pointed out: on the one hand, lepidus ist the key-word that underlines the way by which the comic effect is reached in the play; on the other, it represents a way of life – and, indirectly, a method of education, as we can observe in Terence’s Adelphoi . After Plautus, this model will be actively reused in the republican age by Cicero and Catullus before disappearing in the imperial age, inininwhich, instead, the functions and meanings of lepidus will be strictly reduced and the word will be employed just as marker to introduce funny tales.

L’indagine farà emergere due accezioni del termine: da una parte, lepidus è laparola chiave per indicare il meccanismo del comico su cui si regge la commedia; dall’altra, esso definisce uno stile di vita –e, implicitamente, un modello educativo– fondato sulla ‘lepiditas’. The most famous line from Terence, homo sum etc. (Heautontimoroumenos 77), has been interpreted in different ways under different circumstances by authors ranging from Cicero and Seneca in antiquity and Erasmus at the beginning of the modern age to figures of the 19th and 20th centuries, such as Friedrich Nietzsche, George Bataille, and Thomas Mann. Augustine of Hippo was the first to refer to Terence within a broader Christian context, and in the 12th century John of Salisbury equated the presumed philanthropic attitude of the Roman comedian and imitator of Menander with charity, the ultimate Christian virtue. Whereas most of the testimonia to the reception of Heautontimoroumenos 77 have already been identified and in part analyzed, a refined indirect ῾quotation᾿ of the line in question has been neglected: In a sort of réécriture of the initial scene of Terence’s drama, Roswita (Hrotsvit) of Gandersheim (10th century), in her hagiographic comedy ῾Abraham᾿, interpreted the even then proverbial sentence by introducing for the attitude of ῾humanity towards one’s neighbour᾿ both the Aristotelian definition of friendship (῾one soul in two bodies᾿) and a reference to the ideal of a Christian society with ‘one heart and one soul᾿ (Acts 4, 32). Thus the Terentian humanum is bothparaphrased by and identified with both an other classical and a Christian concept of mutual human affection.

Hasta el siglo XV la literatura castellana no conoce una verdadera terminología dramática. Para sus creaciones en distintos géneros los autores utilizaban términos imprecisos e inconsecuentes. En el siglo XV surgieron los primeros »comentarios« dramáticos, reducidos a breves notas, partes de poemas o introducciones a otras obras literarias. El primer intento de definir los términos del teatro clásico - la comedia y la tragedia - en latín vulgar data del año 1438 o 1439: el poeta Juan de Mena (1411-1456) escribió en el Segundo preámbulo a la Coronación que los poetas escriben en tres estilos - »tragédico, satfíico o comédico«; el primero se utiliza en la escritura »que habla de altos hechos y por bravo y soberbio y alto estilo«, comienza »en altos principios« y acaba »en tristes y desastrosos fines«; y en cuanto al tercer estilo dice: »El tercero estilo es comedia, la cual trata de casas bajas y pequeñas y por bajo y homilde estilo, y comienza en tristes princi­ pios y fenece en alegres fines, del cual usó Terencio.« La referenda a Terencio es significativa, porque la teoría dramática española se formó en estrecha relación con las inter­ pretaciones de los comentaristas de Plauto y Terencio. En la definición de la comedia de Mena hay dos elementos importantes: la bajeza de las casas tratadas y el estilo humilde, por un lado, y el final alegre, por el otro.

Georgica-jának IV. énekét újra kellett írnia, mivel Augustus nem tűrte el volt barátjának és hadvezérének, Gallusnak a dicsőítését. Magánéleti válsága is jól nyomon követhető eklogái Galatea alakjának segítségével. Végül a Didóval elmondatott hatalmas átok vezet el ahhoz a felismeréshez, hogy Dido alakja mögött Maecenas tragikus sorsú felesége, Terentia rejtőzik. Horatius III. 27. ódájának Galateájában jól felismerhető Terentia. Az óda intertextuális kapcsolata az AeneisIV. énekével így meggyőzően bizonyítja Galatea = Dido = Terentia azonosságát.

Abstract:
Manorial farms were shaping for several centuries the economic and social relations as well as the architectural space. They were at first created in church estates, to become gradually the property of other social groups. They often were places of exploitation of the peasants, but also places of dissemination of innovations and improvement of agricultural practices. As the development of trade and transport routes was progressing, they played an important part in the development of handicraft. The end of XVIII century and beginning of XIX century were a period of intensive socio-economic changes and the growth of industry, which brought changes in the functioning of manorial farms (mechanization, introduction of new crops and fertilizers. This resulted in increased numbers of the poorest rural workers with no farmland, who subsequently became the source of cheap labour for the growing industrial centres (e.g. Łódź, Zgierz). The end of XIX century witnessed a slow decline of this type of farms. World War I brought more radical changes in forms of ownership and farming, defined in laws of 1920-1925. The next stage of transformations came after World War II, introduced by laws of 1944-1949.

The Polish – Polish war on the territory of IsraelThe text deconstructs a documentary film Betar by Robert Kaczmarek and Piotr Gontarczyk. The author carries out the analysis adopting two approaches. Firstly, she confronts the factographic side of the film against other sources reporting the events presented in the film. The author also proves that although it has pretensions to being a historiographic work, Betar is, in fact, constructed on the founding myths of the Israeli Zionism. Secondly, she analyses the film as the authors’ viewpoint on Polish fascism and Polish anti-Semitism concealed under the guise of objectifying narrative of a documentary. Seen from such a perspective, Betar perfectly fits into the Polish historical politics. Discussing the issue of Jews in Poland in the pre-war and war times, the film disregards the context of dominance and abuse, that is the majority-minority context; and what is more, it neutralises the Polish anti-Semitism presenting it as equal to the right-wing Zionism as well as an answer to Jewish nationalism.

Uno de los mitos clásicos que aparecen en la novela intercalada cervantina, El curioso impertinente, el del rapto de Dánae, no ha recibido mucha atención crítica. Las muchas imágenes visuales de la novela cervantina recuerdan la écfrasis de este mito en el Eunuco de Terencio, donde la pintura es una de las causas del rapto de Pánfila. La novela cervantina se hace eco de la controversia que había suscitado el Eunuco, comenzando con San Agustín; controversia que continuó hasta el Siglo de Oro con escritores tales como Juan de Mariana y Juan de Pineda. El estudio de la comedia de Terencio y de la pintura de Dánae enviada por Tiziano a Felipe II ayudan a comprender la importancia del mito como elemento temático y estructural en la novela. La historia de Dánae en Cervantes forma parte del debate sobre el impacto de las artes visuales en la época de la Contrarreforma.

Rashness was one of the most urgent themes and most poignant reproaches in Greek experience and reasoning from the 5th century BC onwards: Thucydides complained of rash actions during the Peloponnesian War that led to disaster; Sophocles showed Deianeira rashly sending the lethal garment to her husband on his return with Iole, and Plato made his Socrates expose the rashness of his interlocutors’ assertions again and again. Small wonder, then that Comedy, especially the New Comedy, seized upon this all-pervading deficiency, as can be seen for example in Menander’s Perikeiromene and Epitrepontes, where impulsive young men nearly destroy their lives by acting and judging precipitately. Roman Comedy naturally followed suit, for example Terence in Heautontimorumenos as well as in his Hecyra, where he followed Apollodorus: time and again his characters assert what they do not know for certain and time and again they act according to unwarranted assumptions, a pivotal theme that hitherto seems to have been underrated.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zobrazowanie głównych działań, stosowanych metod i technik oraz wiodących zadań i ról podmiotów pracujących w obszarze poradnictwa zawodowego na terenie szkół w interesującym badacza momencie historycznym. Szczególny akcent w artykule jest położony na funkcję lekarza, psychologa szkolnego oraz nauczyciela. W artykule przedstawiona zostanie pozycja ministra byłej dzielnicy pruskiej w sferze bezpieczeństwa publicznego na terenie byłej dzielnicy pruskiej, uprawnienia ministra byłej dzielnicy pruskiej związane ze stanem oblężenia i stanem wyjątkowym na terenie byłej dzielnicy pruskiej oraz przepisy prawa karnego i karnego procesowego stosowanych w sądach tymczasowych, sądach polowych oraz w sądzie doraźnym z dnia 26 kwietnia 1920 r. powołanych na terenie byłej dzielnicy pruskiej. W artykule ukazano problemy związane z projektem budowy kopalni węgla brunatnego i elektrowni wykorzystującej ten surowiec na terenie gmin Brody i Gubin. Gminy te położone są na terenie województwa lubuskiego. Projektowane działania zniszczą bezpowrotnie dotychczasowy zrównoważony model rozwoju turystyki na wspomnianym obszarze. Model ten opiera się na wykorzystaniu walorów środowiska przyrodniczego, szczególnie dominujących na terenie obu gmin obszarów leśnych. Dezintegracji ulegnie także lokalna społeczność wraz z jej walorami kulturowymi. Z drugiej zaś strony proces rekultywacji terenów pokopalnianych umożliwi w perspektywie kilkudziesięciu lat rozwój nowych form turystyki opartych na nowej specyfice tego miejsca.

Abstract:
This article compares the theoretical estimate with the actual amount of municipal waste received in the area of five rural municipalities that are part of the local Association of Dynów Foothills Communes (Związek Gmin Pogórza Dynowskiego, Podkarpacie Province in Southeastern Poland). The theoretical waste mass in 2019 calculated on the basis of statistical indicators of waste generation was even 60% higher than the actual mass of the collected waste. Theoretically, 27% of the waste generated in the studied area should subsequently be subject to the different recycling processes, while the waste database showed that only 14% of the waste mass was collected separately in morphological categories such as: paper and cardboard, glass, plastics, metals and biodegradable materials. Moreover, in all of the considered municipalities WEEE, bulky waste, and mixed packaging waste were collected, which in total accounted for 30% of selectively collected waste.

Województwo pomorskie liczy 22. l 85 tys. mieszkańców, czyli 5,6% populacji kraju, co plasuje je na 8 miejscu wśród województw. Zajmuje ono 5,8% powierzchni Polski. Województwo cechuje się niskim odsetkiem zatrudnienia w rolnictwie, zaledwie 13% ogółu pracujących, dwukrotnie niższym do średniej krajowej. Stopa bezrobocia, na poziomie około 12,7% jest przy tym nieco wyższa niż średnia krajowa. Województwo cechuje się przy tym stosunkowo wysoką aktywnością gospodarczą i społeczną, pod względem inwestycji samorządowych zajmuje ono 3 miejsce, zaś w liczbie 1zarejestrowanych organizacji non-profit drugie, po Mazowieckim, miejsce w Polsce. Pomorskie jest także, najbardziej po Mazowieckim, wewnętrznie zróżnicowane gospodarczo. Najwyższymi wskaźnikami ekonomicznymi cechuje się Trójmiasto oraz powiat pucki w północnej części województwa, zaś południowe i zachodnie powiaty ziemskie należą do najmniej gospodarczo rozwiniętych w regionie.

Abstract:
For a long time, the military history of the Medieval Armenia was not an object of historical research, which in turn had a negative impact on the studies of the region’s social and political history. It is indisputable that in Armenia, as in most countries during the Middle Ages, the sword was a popular – albeit expensive – weapon. But when did sabres appear in Armenia, and were they popular? Images or archaeological fi nds of sabres from the territory of Armenia date only from the 12th/13th centuries, while in the Byzantine Empire and Abbasid Caliphate the sabre had been known already in the 9th–11th centuries, used mainly by nomads serving as mercenaries in both armies. Unfortunately, written sources are not really helpful, as Armenian chroniclers used diff erent terms (– sur, tur, suser – sur, tur, suser) in order to describe the word “sword” or something of the kind, diff erences between which are not completely understood. Moreover, there exists a methodological problem of distinguishing a backsword/pallash (single-edged sword) from a sabre. In order to make this research a more relevant, a comparative analysis with Byzantine, Georgians, Muslim and Nomads materials regarding the appearance, distribution and use of the sabre was employed. The conclusion states that in South Caucasus, the sabre appeared a bit later than in the Byzantine Empire and Abbasid Caliphate, having arrived thanks to North Caucasus, Byzantine, Muslim or Seljuk infl uences in the 10th–11th centuries, given that nomad mercenaries were not present in Bagratid Armenia.

Na terenie Polski występują złoża skał wapiennych i pokrewnych, ich lokalizacja jest nierównomierna. Koncentracja tych złóż znajduje się głównie w południowych regionach kraju. W innych jego częściach występuje w znacznie mniejszych ilościach. Niniejszy artykuł skupia się głównie na przedstawieniu obiektów z obszaru Wyżyny Lubelskiej, który jest bogaty w złoża opoki wapnistej. Ze względu na jej dostępność, łatwość w pozyskiwaniu oraz stosunkowo dobre parametry fizyczne, na terenie Lubelszczyzny kamień ten wykorzystywano na masową skalę jako materiał murowy. Początki budownictwa z wykorzystaniem opoki sięgają prawdopodobnie X w. Jednak najstarsze zachowane obiekty z kamienia wapiennego na Lubelszczyźnie, tj. zamek w Janowcu i Kazimierzu Dolnym pochodzą z XVI w. W czasach obecnych materiał ten jest zdecydowanie rzadziej wykorzystywany ze względu na trudną dostępność i dość wysoką cenę.
