Full textThe research pertains to the field of adaptation studies, choosing a perspective inspired by the theories developed by Russian philosopher Mikhail Bakhtin on authorship. The question from which the whole analysis of the three audiovisual adaptations of Dostoyevsky’s novel The Brothers Karamazov moves, refers to the adaptability for the screen of the literary principle of polyphony as identified by Bakhtin. The three adaptations, chosen for elements of formal homogeneity and heterogeneity in relationship to polyphonic rendition are: the movie Brothers Karamazov (Richard Brooks, USA 1958); the TV Drama I fratelli Karamazov (Sandro Bolchi, Italy 1969) and the movie Bratya Karamazovy, (Ivan Pyryev, Michail Ulyanov and Kirill Lavrov, Soviet Union 1969). Before moving forward with the analysis, through an examination of both Bakhtin’s critic and texts, we wanted to reconnect literary polyphony with the Russian theoretician’s philological research in the 1920’s and the cultural hummus of Russian religious philosophy. After this “genealogical” study, we identified polyphony’s formal implications and advanced our methodological proposal, founded on the assessment of the authorial element in a bakhtinian sense. During the Seventies, in fact, literary and film critic was influenced by the concept of the death of the Author, and focused uniquely on intertextuality Through an examination of adaptation theories, from Umberto Eco’s transmutation to Carlo Testa’s re-creation, we are proposing a new formulation inspired by bakhtinian studies on surplus vision, the unique and irreplaceable view of the world the author’s (and in our case, the adapter’s) vision stems from. At a later stage the analysis turns to the screenplay and the audiovisual product, through an integrated methodology covering a comparative, dramaturgical, structural, thematic and linguistic phase. The purpose that guides the phases of the analysis is to evaluate the polyphonic rendition of the three works, identifying the conditions that facilitate polyphony in an audiovisual product.

JIA, WANTING. "La teoria del possesso nel diritto romano e italiano: alcune riflessioni sulle relative norme nel diritto cinese." Doctoral thesis, Università degli Studi di Roma "Tor Vergata", 2010. http://hdl.handle.net/2108/1395.
Full textThe possession is a very important system in the roman law. It not only has passed trough almost the whole historic evolution of the roman law(from the XII Tavole to the codification of Giustiniano), but also has played a very important part in the formation of the system of the ownership and other rights of property in the roman law. Because of its particular position, many outstanding roman jurisconsult, suche as Labeone, Nerva, Paolo, Ulpiano, etc, have left many important works on this subject. And the results achieved by the modern jurists are numerous. However, in the research of giurisprudence and in the legislation of China it lacks detailed works and profound and comprehensive thoughts. This thesis started from the original works of the roman jurisconsults, with the reference of the positive results of the modern Romanists, giving a more o less comprehensive introduction of the roman theory of the possession. In the second part, it concerns the system of the possession in the modern Italian law, emphasizing the influence of the theory of the possession in the roman law. The last part of this thesis is about the system of the possession in the Chinese law. Although it is established in the Chinese law, with regard to its specific contents, it is obvious that there are many places to complete and consummate. In the future process of the improvement of the Chinese law, an excellent juristic tradition, like the roman law, and a mature system of legislation, like Italian legislation, could be very useful. In fact, this is the primary aim and the potential value of our study.

Full textThe Betrothed was analysed from a point of view focusing on complexity starting from systemic theory. The comparison between two theoretical texts: Lettre à M.R C*** sur l’unité de temps et de lieu dans la tragédie and Del romanzo storico e, in genere, de’ componimenti misti di storia e d’invenzione, highlighted how the idea of complexity, and consequently of relationship at the core of the concept of lifelikeness, has underlied Manzoni’s criticism since its beginning and has troubled it in time. Manzoni’s progressive reflection on verisimilitude has been researched: the which has given an interpretation applied to The Novel, to a complex and articulated dimension through which Manzoni guided the readers to the contemplation of Truth embodied in historical reality, in the form of a betrothal. The ‘quarantana’, the novel given to the publisher in 1842 by Manzoni, has been analysed and a relationship between its three structural parts has been identified: l’Introduzione, thirty-eight chapters , la Storia della colonna infame. In its frame was found the architecture in which Manzoni brilliantly set his Truth.

Full textThis thesis focuses on the Japanese practice of adapting foreign literary works into animation, considering the case of World Masterpiece Theater (WMT), an anthology of TV series produced by Nippon Animation since the mid-1970s, which epitomises a trend—Japanese studios approaching novels for children from the whole world, to turn them into long-running anime for television—started at least a decade before. The analysis of the historical context, as well as of the ties between the anime industry and the publishing system, allows to identify WMT as the televisive heir of zenshū (“collected works”) of foreign children’s books published in the country since the prewar period. Both zenshū and WMT series associate western literature with serialisation, have an educational function, and are marked with the cultural reputation of “classics” accessible to all thanks to popular medias. The adaptations of "Anne of Green Gables" and "A Little Princess"—as, respectively, "Akage no An" (1979) and "Shōkōjo Sēra" (1985)—have been given detailed consideration. Results of the examination are useful to pinpoint some patterns of the WMT as a genre, but also the role of the staff working on the series, and the increasingly importance of girls’ culture in Japanese animation.
