Abstract:
Tennis is a challenging sport to learn. Novice children players (5-8 years old) need a certain amount of practice to reach both consistency and mastery in their strokes. In an attempt to support the coach and help the players to remain active, ©Artengo designed an equipment consisting of increasing the hitting volume during a practice session: The Tennis Wall. The objectives of the present study were i) to propose a practice session including the use of the Tennis Wall, ii) to evaluate the influence of adding the Tennis Wall on the hitting volume in a practice session with novice children tennis players. A practice session with the Tennis Wall allowed to hit about 3 times more balls for each young tennis player compared with a traditional practice session. Although the results of this study need to be confirmed with a larger sample of participants and more training sessions, they suggest that the Tennis Wall can be an interesting support to learn tennis due to the increased repetition of strikes which contributes to skill acquisition.

Abstract:
The aim of this study was to identify the differences in body composition and physical fitness between children who played table tennis regularly during a two-year period compared to physically active children who were not engaged in a regular activity. Three hundred seventy-four children aged 10 to 11 years were divided into two groups: table tennis players (n = 109 boys and 73 girls) and physically active group (n = 88 boys and 104 girls). Anthropometric analysis included body mass index, skinfolds, perimeters and bone diameters. Somatotype and body composition were determined according to age-specific equations. Physical fitness assessment included hand grip dynamometry (strength), sit-and-reach test (range of movement) and maximal multistage 20 m shuttle run test (cardiovascular fitness). The result show that children who regularly played table tennis had greater bone development and superior physical fitness compared to those who were physically active but not engaged in a regular physical activity. This is the largest study to date presenting data about the potential of table tennis to benefit health in children. These results constitute an important first step in clarifying the effectiveness of table tennis as a health-promotion strategy to encourage children to undertake regular physical activity and limit sedentary behavior.

Abstract:
MULTILATERAL COORDINATION EXERCISE SYSTEMS IN THE TENNIS FIELD WITH CHILDREN AGED 8 TO 12 ABSTRACT This research work seeks to improve multilateral coordination through a system of multilateral exercises that are relevant in the field of play tennis actions with children. At the present it is very important, because the work is carried out at the level like: motor, cognitive and psychological that in turn are essential in the training stage, if we analyze all the skills and abilities to be developed, because we see that coordination is present in all of them, in children the development of the motor area is fundamental for the performance of their daily activities, also to optimize since the development from training, one of the limitations for many teachers and coaches is the variability in the development of exercises and pedagogical processes in the field of tennis, which it constitutes in one of the fundamental pillars to improve this capacity, whereby this research proposes a methodology for the multilateral coordination in the practice of the field tennis in children from 8 to 12 years old, focused on the exercise system that develops this sport. From the theoretical point of view, the subject finds a great support in the Physical Activity Sciences literature, in search of the coordinative capacity, which is why this work allowed us to base the practical proposal of multilateral coordination exercises with great objectivity; offering a systematization to the diversity of ideas, opinions and scientific results of researchers who have dealt with the subject; attesting to the scientific nature of this research work where its theoretical pertinence and scientific value and relevance lies. Abstract:
The heart rate intensity during 20 minutes of sports participation by circumpubertal children was monitored several times over a season. The competitive games’ mean absolute heart rates for basketball, badminton, netball, and tennis were 170, 159, 168, and 162 bts·min−1 (or 72, 75, 69, and 67% of heart rate maximum), respectively. The mean abolute heart rates for 20 minutes of participation under practice conditions for badminton, basketball, netball, and tennis were 149, 157, 144, and 135 bts·min−1, or 73, 75, 69, and 67% of heart rate maximum. At the 0.05 level of probability there was a significant difference between the heart rate intensities under competitive game and practice situations in the badminton, netball, and tennis groups. The difference between intensities of competitive games and practices was nonsignificant in the basketball players. The study concluded that participation in practice and game conditions was positive in providing the potential for a training stimulus.

Abstract:
Changes in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rulebook at the beginning of 2019 regarding the special ranking for pregnancy or parental start and the uprising in sports psychology investigations regarding this theme in elite sport, inspired this study. The aim was to explore whether the changes in the WTA regulations modifies the vision of the possibility to combine motherhood and professional tennis career in both current and former elite tennis players. Participants were 10 Spanish female elite tennis players, some mothers (n = 3) and others non-mothers (n = 7). For data collection, a semi-structured interview was used and, through thematic content analysis, three themes were defined: (a) game, set and match: is it enough just by changing the rules? (b) Centre court: to serve tennis player and mom vs. at the return tennis player and (c) warning coaching: tennis as a team sport. The results of the study revealed that motherhood and an elite tennis career is possible to combine even though it is still a feat for the mother athlete. Our study suggests strategies that could favour motherhood with an elite tennis career: (a) have the support from the athletes’ entourage, (b) having financial support or funding, (c) have some areas or rooms destined for children in tournaments and (d) provide basic services for children in tournaments.

Abstract:
Aim: The purpose of this pilot study was to quantify the effect of a continued active video games (AVG) playing on the tennis forehand and backhand technique development. Methods: Altogether 24 tennis players (7 – 9 year olds) were randomly divided in two different groups, both involved in a 12-week tennis training program (twice a week for an hour). The participants in the experimental group received an additional twice a week (20-minute) AVG Virtua Tennis 4 game intervention at the end of each regular tennis training hour, while the participants in the control group received no additional intervention. Pre- and post-AVG intervention, the Tennis Rating Score for Children scale (TRSC) was applied to detect tennis training-related changes that occur in each specific stroke. Results: Our results at the post-test show that participants in the experimental group did not significantly improved in one element (TRSC12; p = 0,317) in the forehand stroke and two (TRSC10; p = 0,157 and TRSC12 p = 0,157) in the backhand. The control group significantly improved in all the fifteen evaluated elements in both the forehand and backhand stroke. The experimental group had a higher effect size in all the kinetic chain section in both the forehand and backhand stroke compared to the control. The same happens for the TRSC7 (point of contact – height). Conclusion: Prolonged AVG playing seems to improve visual attentions skills (perception of a moving object) in young tennis players, giving them the opportunity to be able to prepare themselves for the oncoming ball sooner as compared to their control counterparts. From the other perspective, AVG were shown to negatively affect correct players positioning, especially at the beginning and at the end of a stroke. Abstract:
Tennis 10 is a method based on the principle of "Game Based Approach", used mainly for children between the age of 7-10 (sometimes in the case of adults also) and using game materials adapted to the players' age (lower nets, sponge balls, smaller wooden or plastic rackets), thus making it easier for the players to learn the game. The method is effective for the quick learning of tennis because the use of materials adapted to the players' size allows more time to react, giving the players self-confidence and increasing their motivation to play and progress. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the Tennis 10 method on the development of general motor skills in children, considering that the general physical training helps develop the body harmoniously, being also a premise and a condition for getting remarkable results in tennis.

Abstract:
This article analyzes the data of the scientific and methodological literature on the use of table tennis classes for the purpose of strengthening the physical health of middle-aged schoolchildren. The current state of health of middle-aged schoolchildren requires changes in the system of physical education, which will diversify the process of raising children and have a positive effect on the further development of the personality. The maximum rates of cognitive and physical development of children of secondary school age will always require special attention of scientists regarding the correctness of the organization of physical education lessons in this period. Playing table tennis is one of the sports that affects the development of children's basic physical and mental qualities. Table tennis improves movement speed, reaction speed, prediction speed, develops operational thinking, as well as the ability to concentrate and switch attention. A systematic analysis of the state of health of the school-age population of Ukraine shows that in recent years the incidence and prevalence of diseases have been destabilizing, which, despite the positive trend, remain high [2; 4]. Therefore, there is a need to use sports equipment, namely table tennis, to provide recreational and recreational activities for children in institutions of general secondary education to increase the physical activity of school-age children.

Abstract:
Relevance of the research topic: Sports training is one of the components of success in achieving high results in table tennis. Analyzing the experience of advanced countries of the world is always a good practice to identify positive aspects and introduce them into the Ukrainian system of sports training of young table tennis players. The need to find new approaches that would contribute to the qualitative renewal of means and methods of improving sportsmanship in table tennis strengthens the relevance and timeliness of the research in this field. Purpose and methods of the study: The purpose of the study was to reveal the step-by-step sports training in table tennis in the countries of the world (in particular, Canada and Poland) and in Ukraine. To achieve the goal, a complex of general scientific research methods was used: the observation method to carry out a versatile characterization of a wide range of issues; the method of critical analysis for the study of various sources of information; analysis, synthesis, systematization, generalization. Results of the work and key conclusions: During the study, it was concluded that in Ukraine the process of teaching children to play table tennis begins at school age, on the other hand, in Canada and other countries that use models of Long Term Athlete Development, familiarization, encouragement and the first basic training takes place at preschool age multi-sport skills. In Poland, phasing is similar to Ukraine, and it is assumed that at this stage of learning table tennis, children should develop an interest in table tennis, and the coach’s task is to develop internal motivation and training discipline. Taking into account the results of the comparison and analysis, it is proposed to review the process of teaching table tennis in Ukraine and add a starting stage, which will involve teaching basic motor skills and be carried out in preschool educational institutions in the form of a game in a safe, stimulating and fun environment. In the future, this will facilitate the selection to the initial groups for teaching table tennis and will form the sports interest of children in this sport.

Abstract:
Summary Modern sport is characterized by rapid growth of records and achievements, and related significant intensification of training and competitive loads requires a scientifically grounded search for talented young people, who can cope with heavy sports loads, high rates of sports development and sports achievements. At the same time, search and selection of talented children for sports to begin their sports development should be based on scientific achievements in the field of pedagogy, psychology, physiology, sports training and other special subjects which give an appropriate idea about specifics of the status and development of the organism, its functional and movement capabilities. Exploring the problems of today’s youth, and the origins of table tennis, we can state that at the present stage table tennis can be an effective means of physical education of the younger generation of the Republic of Moldova, not only for sports development but also for the education of the socially and morally healthy young people. Sports practice of athlete’s development requires knowledge and records of indicators of their present and prospective physical, functional and psychomotor status, which dynamics and forecast allow planning athletic performance. The material for publication provides research findings on stabilometrical studies of functional movement status of children participating in sports selection for table tennis. At the same time, stabilometric criteria of children selection for table tennis serve an effective assessment of their physical condition, based on their previous movement experiences. Applied stabilometrical tests for studying and assessing the functional movement skills are quite adequate to the due age development of the explored children and they allow to perform efficient sports selection at a high level. Applying these tests in the process of sports selection of children for table tennis will allow us to identify often outwardly hidden visual, hearing, proprioceptive, and vestibular distortions and necessary psychomotor status allowing to control their own motor actions.

Competition is an integral component of junior tennis. Through competition children can test their physical prowess, develop their psychological skills and, ultimately, progress through the rankings. While some enjoy tournaments and excel when competing, others find it more challenging and experience emotions such as anxiety and pressure when they perform. For children to succeed in matches and reach their potential as tennis players, they must be able to cope with the range of emotions that arise before, during, and after matches. It is therefore important to understand the emotions that children experience when they compete and help them develop appropriate coping strategies to manage these emotions. This article provides recommendations for coaches regarding how they can help children to cope with the emotions they experience when competing.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper was to analyze the changes caused by a one-day tennis tournament in biomarkers of oxidative stress and α-amylase in saliva in children. The sample was 20 male active children with the following characteristics: (a) age of players = 9.46 ± 0.66 years; (b) weight = 34.8 ± 6.5 kg; (c) height = 136.0 ± 7.9 cm; (d) mean weekly training tennis = 2.9 ± 1.0 h. The tennis competition ran for one day, with four matches for each player. Data were taken from the average duration per match and the rating of perceived exertion (RPE). Four biomarkers of antioxidant status: uric acid (AU), Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC), ferric reducing ability of saliva (FRAS, cupric reducing antioxidant capacity (CUPRAC) and salivary alpha-amylase (sAA) as a biomarker of psychological stress were measured in saliva. The time points were baseline (at home before the tournament), pre-competition (immediately before the first match) and post-match (after each match) measurements. The four biomarkers of antioxidant status showed a similar dynamic with lower values at baseline and a progressive increase during the four matches. Overall one-day tennis competition in children showed a tendency to increase antioxidant biomarkers in saliva. In addition, there was an increase in pre-competition sAA possibly associated with psychological stress. Further studies about the possible physiological implications of these findings should be performed in the future.

Abstract:
In the current game of tennis, it is very important for competitive players to possess a high level of perceptual, cognitive, and motor skills. To reach this level, many sciences have contributed to the substantiation of the training process: physiology, psychology, biochemistry, etc. In recent years, specialists have been concerned with identifying and determining new factors that facilitate the learning of technical elements and tactical actions used in tennis. Contemporary tennis, through its specificity, requires coaches to understand and have the ability to implement different forms of practice that will increase the efficiency of the tennis learning process. The present paper makes an analysis of specialized perceptions that underlie the tennis learning process and guide the optimization of the training process at the beginner level. Associations that lead to functional results are distinctive marks of sports performance in tennis. Thus, understanding how tasks, the environment, and the body interact to influence the formation of these synergies is essential. Depending on the results achieved, we will be able to determine the importance of developing coordination abilities (spatiotemporal orientation ability, the ability to combine and connect movements, balance ability, kinaesthetic differentiation ability, motor reaction ability, movement transformation ability, rhythmic ability) in order to optimize the game of tennis for children aged 8-10 years.

Abstract:
Physical activity and sport participation behaviors in children and adolescents are consistently shaped by surrounding ecological systems. Accumulating evidence highlights individual, family, peer, school and teacher, and macroenvironment elements such as policies that affect unstructured physical activity choices in youth populations. However, the reason for participation has not been fully interpreted from the perspective of the youth themselves, especially those from an Asian cultural background. In our study, we aimed to better understand the self-identified reasons for adolescents’ participation in non-organized or spontaneous tennis practice in contemporary China. Twenty-six adolescents and informants were recruited in mainland China and participated in semi-structured interviews to provide thick descriptions of their continued tennis participation behaviors. Data were coded and analyzed via NVivo 12. Four themes emerged: (a) Individual characteristics and self-interpretations of tennis culture; (b) microsystems mediating adolescents’ tennis participation; (c) barriers and obstacles impacting tennis participation; and (d) policies and macroenvironments. Adolescent tennis participation is a result of the integration effect of the sociocultural and ecological factors dominated by multifaceted ecological systems. As a particular vision of their physical activity experiences, adolescents’ interpretation of tennis and their broader worldview has been continuously reshaped by concurrent sport and educational policies.

Abstract:
The present study aimed to examine the effect of an 8-week balance training on the agility, strength, balance performance and tennis skills of tennis players aged 10-14. The study was participated by 19 tennis players (10 males and 9 females) playing in the EA Tennis Academy. The participants were selected randomly and divided into two groups as experimental group (9 players) and the control groups (10 players). Firstly, vertical jump, pro-agility, dynamic balance and ITN tennis skills tests were applied to all the participants. After all the test were completed, the experimental group were applied 8 weeks of balance and tennis training while the players in the control group continued tennis training only. The same tests were applied to the participants at the end of the 8 weeks. The findings of the study showed statistically significant improvement in the agility, balance index and tennis skills tests in the pre-test and post-tests of the experimental group (p = 0.034, p = 0.025, p = 0.003), whereas improvement was seen only in the tennis skills test of the control group (p = 0.000). In addition, no statistically significant difference was found in the vertical jump performance used to determine the explosive strength both in the experimental and control groups. As for the difference between groups, a significant difference was found only in the pro-agility post-tests of the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05). Based on these findings, it was revealed that balance training would improve agility and balance in 10-14 year-old children as well as contributing to their tennis skills. Therefore, it is considered that balance training should be included in training plans.

Abstract:
Background and Aims: Tennis is also a sophisticated action, intense confrontation, technical and tactical use of complex and varied network antagonistic sport, on physical and mental intelligence aspects of the higher requirements, emphasizing skills and physical dominance. The purpose of this study is to select 40 male children aged 6-10 years old from a tennis club in Xi'an for a group experiment based on the selection conditions of age, height, weight, training time no more than 6 months, and training twice a week, and to find out the theoretical basis of agility, balance, and coordination intervention training on the improvement of children's tennis hitting ability. Materials and Methods: This study adopts the literature method, expert interview method, experiment method, and mathematical statistics method. Five expert professors were interviewed, and the validity of expert interviews and experimental results was measured by IOC, t-test, and other data. Through 8 weeks of agility, balance, and coordination training in the experimental group and the control group, and 90 minutes of intervention training twice a week, it is concluded that the experimental group and the control group have significant differences, and the experimental group has significantly improved its ability in batting and other aspects. Results: The results showed that: (1) 8-week agility, balance, and coordination intervention training applied in the warm-up part significantly improved the agility, balance, and coordination ability of children's tennis in the experimental group, and the intervention program was feasible to improve the agility, balance and coordination ability of children's tennis students in the interest class. (2) After 8 weeks of agility, balance, and coordination training, the number of goals scored by the students in the experimental group in the scoring area of 1, 2, and 3 points of forehand stroke showed a significant difference compared with before training, while the difference was only significant in the scoring area of 1 point of the backhand stroke. It shows that 8 weeks of agility, balance, and coordination training can improve the stability and accuracy of forehand strokes more obviously. Conclusion: (1) Stability and accuracy are based on good agility, balance, and coordination. Agility, balance, and coordination can improve the accuracy and stability of forehand and backhand in tennis training for children. (2) 6-10 years old is the best period for children to conduct agility, balance, and coordination intervention training, so strengthening agility, balance, and coordination training in tennis warm-up training can not only improve the stability and accuracy of children's tennis shots but also increase children's interest and concentration.

The purposes of this study were to identify the strategies parents use to be able to support their children’s involvement in competitive tennis and identify additional assistance parents require to better facilitate their children’s involvement in tennis. Interviews were conducted with 41 parents of junior players in the United States. Data analysis led to the identification of 4 strategies parents used to be able to support to their children: spouses working together, interacting with other parents, selecting an appropriate coach, and researching information. Five areas where parents required additional assistance were also identified. These were understanding and negotiating player progression, education on behaving and encouraging players at tournaments, evaluating and selecting coaches, identifying and accessing financial support, and managing and maintaining schooling. These findings indicated that parents “surrounded themselves with support” to facilitate their children’s involvement in tennis but required additional information regarding specific aspects of tennis parenting.

Abstract:
Junior tennis coaches commonly argue that parents must push their children and be very involved to develop their talent, despite the strain on the parent-child relationship that may occur from these tactics. To examine parental influence on talent development and the parent-child relationship, nine professional tennis players, eight parents, and eight coaches were retrospectively interviewed about each player’s junior development based Bloom’s three stages of talent development (1985). Results are presented through aggregated, nonfiction stories of three tennis development pathways: smooth, difficult, and turbulent. Smooth pathways were typical of parents who were supportive and maintained a healthy parent-child relationship while facilitating talent development. Difficult and turbulent pathways involved parents who stressed the importance of tennis and created pressure by pushing their child toward winning and talent development. For difficult pathways, parent-child relationships were negatively affected but conflicts were mostly resolved, whereas for turbulent pathways, many conflicts remained unresolved.

Abstract:
Background. This study focused on the cross-country validation of the Dutch perceptual-motor skills assessment used for talent detection in table tennis which also could be the basis to create country-specific norm values in young children (aged 7 to 9). Materials and methods. In total, data from 172 children from Kosovo and 219 children from the Netherlands were compared. The data consisted of the outcomes of seven items of the Dutch perceptual-motor skills assessment evaluating gross motor function (i.e., sprint and vertical jump) and ball control (i.e., throwing a ball, speed while dribbling, aiming at target, ball skills and eye-hand coordination). A multivariate GLM analysis revealed significant differences between the two countries with large effect sizes regarding both constructs. Preliminary normative values are presented per country. Results. The results show that perceptual-motor skills can vary between children of the same age and sex between European countries. For that reason, it seems sensible to further investigate the necessity of establishing norm values per country and also the underlying mechanisms that might reveal why and how cross-country differences arise. Conclusions. Moreover, it might make sense to study an international sample of recreational and high performance youth and adult players to create a benchmark for talent detection and talent identification in table tennis. This will likely gain more insight into what the key aspects are to participate in table tennis and what is necessary for the elite level.

Abstract:
Purpose. To evaluate the relationships between objectively measured physical activity and physical fitness among preschool children. Methods. A total of 346 participants (201 boys and 145 girls) aged 3.5–5.5 years (M=4.5 yr, SD = 0.47) from Shanghai, China, completed physical fitness assessments, including triceps skinfold thickness (TSFT), grip strength, tennis throwing, sit and reach test, standing long jump, balance beam, 10mSRT, and 20mSRT. Physical activity was objectively measured by ActiGraphGT3X+ accelerometer. Multiple linear regression models were used to explore the cross-sectional associations between PA and physical fitness after adjusting for age, gender, BMI, and valid wearing time. Results. Positive associations were observed between stand long jump (p<.01), tennis throwing (p<.01), laps in 20mSRT (p<.01), and MVPA. However, TSFT (p<.05), time in 10mSRT (p<.01), and balance beam (p<.05) were negatively associated with MVPA. Furthermore, positive associations were found between stand long jump (p<.01), tennis throwing (p<.01), and MVPA only in boys. Negative associations were found between time on balance beam (p<.01) and MVPA only in girls. Conclusions. MVPA appears to be an effective and reliable predictor of preschoolers’ physical fitness. Boys’ body composition, muscular strength, explosive strength, agility, aerobic fitness, girls’ agility, aerobic fitness, and balance could improve as MVPA increases.

Abstract:
The aim of the study is to examine the effect of eight-week-long training in different branches on motor performance for children aged 14-16. A total of 96 volunteers, including 69 people who are engaged in sports in different branches (tennis, volleyball and basketball) and 27 people who are sedentary, using an 8-week training program, 3 days a week, participated in the study. Motor performance development of the participants was determined with the Tennis Condition Test protocol (KTT). Paired Samples t-test was used to determine the difference between the pre-test and post-tests of the data, and the One-Way Analysis of Variance ANOVA test was used to determine the difference between the groups. As a result of this study, it was determined that 8-week branch-specific training applied to children between the ages of 14-16 improved motor performance. In order to increase the motor performance development of children in this age group, it is important to direct them to sports activities in line with their abilities. To apply it is thought that the training plans, which are specific to the branch and of a type that will support basic motor performance development, are important for the development of the basic motor characteristics and motor performance levels of children in the 14-16 age group. Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. Abstract:
Background:The Compendium of Energy Expenditures for Youth assigns MET values to a wide range of activities. However, only 35% of activity MET values were derived from energy cost data measured in youth; the remaining activities were estimated from adult values.Purpose:To determine the energy cost of common activities performed by children and adolescents and compare these data to similar activities reported in the compendium.Methods:Thirty-two children (8−11 years old) and 28 adolescents (12−16 years) completed 4 locomotion activities on a treadmill (TRD) and 5 age-specific activities of daily living (ADL). Oxygen consumption was measured using a portable metabolic analyzer. Results:In children, measured METs were significantly lower than compendium METs for 3 activities [basketball, bike riding, and Wii tennis (1.1−3.5 METs lower)]. In adolescents, measured METs were significantly lower than compendium METs for 4 ADLs [basketball, bike riding, board games, and Wii tennis (0.3−2.5 METs lower)] and 3 TRDs [2.24 m·s-1, 1.56 m·s-1, and 1.34 m·s-1 (0.4−0.8 METs lower)].Conclusion:The Compendium of Energy Expenditures for Youth is an invaluable resource to applied researchers. Inclusion of empirically derived data would improve the validity of the Compendium of Energy Expenditures for Youth.

Abstract:
The objective of this study is to highlight the effect of physical exercises specific to the game of tennis, carried out in the aquatic environment to optimize the effort capacity of the players practicing this sport on the physiological parameters of the players in this sport. The impact of such an intervention program in the aquatic environment is a multilateral one, having benefits on optimizing performance capacity, maintaining an optimal state of health and opening new horizons for children practicing the game of tennis. A novelty element of this experimental research is represented by the implementation in the training program of tennis players in the aquatic environment and exercises from other sports branches such as swimming, gymnastics and athletics. The intervention program is a bold attempt to weave and combine exercises from different sports, in a non-specific and totally different environment, in order to improve performances and results, looking at the perspective, without necessarily aiming at great current performances, in the short term, which could bring disappointments, create certain barriers or even lead to the abandonment of sports activities. Abstract:
I chose this theme, due to the interest that I developed during my university training, for educating, training and learning the basic strokes of the game of tennis for beginner children. Through the present work we aim to make a useful contribution and relevant to existing practice regarding the benefits of learning the correct ball striking technique for the forehand, forehand and service stroke. The sample investigated in the research will be represented by subjects between the ages of 7-10 years from the High School with Sports Program "N. Rotaru" from Constanța. The current game of tennis is characterized by great dynamism, the player being put in the position to think and act quickly for the effective application of the technical-tactical arsenal, in the diversity of adversity situations. Thus, beginner players at the age of 8-10 need to learn the most correct technique in order to be able to carry out any tactical plan in order to win matches in competitions. The general objective of the research is to observe to what extent the new methods and means proposed for improving the basic shots help to make the learning process more efficient for children in training and to improve the tennis game at the mentioned age.
