Abstract:
This paper considers the use of modern intelligent technologies in information retrieval systems. A general scheme for the implementation of Internet search engines is presented. The existing and prospective approaches to the intellectualization of individual components of this scheme are presented. An approach to the creation of a system of intelligent agents for information collection is presented. These agents are combined into teams and exchange the results of their work with each other. They form a reliable basis for the information base of search engines, ensure uninterrupted operation of the system in case of failure of individual agents. Methods for the formation of semantic networks corresponding to the texts of individual documents are also considered. These networks are considered as search patterns of documents for information retrieval and detection of duplicates or similar documents. Machine learning methods are used to conduct sentiment analysis. The paper describes an approach that made it possible to make the transition from the use of a naive Bayesian model to a modern machine learning system. The issues of cluster analysis and visualization of search results are also considered.

Abstract:
Emerging technologies have been used as a complementary tool to solve different problems that modern society faces every day. One area where the emerging technologies have a big opportunity is transportation. As cities become larger, the number of vehicles and the need for transportation is growing quickly. In this sense, the modern society is facing more traffic congestion, higher fuel bills and the increase of CO2 emissions. It is imperative to improve and develop a sustainable transportation system that uses in a better way the existing infrastructure and that infrastructure have to be complemented with the application of emerging technologies. This work gives readers a global vision of traffic and transportation issues and how merging technologies contribute to solve transportation problems. In addition, it analyzes some of the emerging technologies and how each technology might be used to improve transportation systems. Finally, a classification of applications for transportation systems is explained and some real applications that are being developed in both academic and industrial environment are described.

Abstract:
An extensively pursued current direction of research in physics aims at the development of practical technologies that exploit the effects of quantum mechanics. As part of this ongoing effort, devices for quantum information processing, secure communication, and high-precision sensing are being implemented with diverse systems, ranging from photons, atoms, and spins to mesoscopic superconducting and nanomechanical structures. Their physical properties make some of these systems better suited than others for specific tasks; thus, photons are well suited for transmitting quantum information, weakly interacting spins can serve as long-lived quantum memories, and superconducting elements can rapidly process information encoded in their quantum states. A central goal of the envisaged quantum technologies is to develop devices that can simultaneously perform several of these tasks, namely, reliably store, process, and transmit quantum information. Hybrid quantum systems composed of different physical components with complementary functionalities may provide precisely such multitasking capabilities. This article reviews some of the driving theoretical ideas and first experimental realizations of hybrid quantum systems and the opportunities and challenges they present and offers a glance at the near- and long-term perspectives of this fascinating and rapidly expanding field.

Abstract:
The 4th Industrial evolution has brought along a lot of technological achievements which can change the form of humanity. Peer-to-peer networks (Distributed networks), network of sensors (Internet of Things), algorithms capable to take decisions (Artificial Intelligence), computers with the ability of self-learning (Machine Learning), more complex queries for analyzing the data, that we are collecting since the birth of internet (Data Science) and new electronic money(cryptocurrencies) are some of the characteristics of those new technologies. But the adoption of those achievements (known as Digital Transformation or Digitization) demands Managers open-minded, well-educated on those technologies and ready to trace the new possible Risks. They must also be capable to use the Systems Thinking, as the Blockchain Technologies have created an Ecosystem (Sociotechnical Systems); the combination of Social Systems (Organizations - Companies), whose behavior is not predictable, and Mechanical Systems (technical equipment) with a predefined way of function. So, this kind of Systems (Sociotechnical) need a more delicate approach using a combination of, not only Systemic methodologies and technics, but also other theories and proper tools. We are going to publish a series of articles in which we are going to specify the proper theories and methodologies in each phase of the digital transformation. Thus, the purpose of this study is to explain to the new generation of Managers how the Systems Thinking, DCSYM Methodology and VSM Model, are applied on those Ecosystems.

Abstract:
In a nutshell, a biometric security system requires a user to provide some biometric features which are then verified against some stored biometric templates. Nowadays, the traditional password based authentication method tends to be replaced by advanced biometrics technologies. Biometric based authentication is becoming increasingly appealing and common for most of the human-computer interaction devices. To give only one recent example, Microsoft augmented its brand new Windows 10 OS version with the capability of supporting face recognition when the user login in. This chapter does not intend to cover a comprehensive and detailed list of biometric techniques. The chapter rather aims at briefly discussing biometric related items, including principles, definitions, biometric modalities and technologies along with their advantages, disadvantages or limitations, and biometric standards, targeting unfamiliar readers. It also mentions the attributes of a biometric system as well as attacks on biometrics. Important reference sources are pointed out so that the interested reader may gain deeper in-depth knowledge by consulting them.

Abstract:
One of the important components of monitoring buildings and structures is an instrumental quantitative assessment of the dynamics of changes in values for all estimated parameters of the technical condition of engineering systems. In the theory of infographics, schematisms (infographic models) are considered intermediate formations of consciousness, mediating sensuality and intellect, whose roots are in the imagination. From an analytical point of view, there is a two-dimensional Euclidean space of phase states, in which the coordinates are “intentions/functions” and “institutions/traditions”, and the “points/phases” are anthropic states (modes, positions, anthroponyms, etc.). The latter can be understood both in the singular sense (human in the singular) and in the collective sense (human as a community, “species being”). In general, this phase space represents the process of “culture-anthropo-psychogenesis” (anthropic synthesis). Determining what to consider the object of study (phase, technique or institution) is a matter of cultural and anthropotechnical functional literacy, and not of evaluation or choice. In addition, everyone must first understand: • Is individual-oriented or grouporiented psychotherapy possible? • What is its “functional equivalent”, as a very important concept of “functional analysis”? • What in the nature of phase anthropic space blocks the appearance of such a “functional equivalent”? • What resists such innovation? • Is “psychotechnical typology” an element of “anthropotechnics”?

Abstract:
Human gait is the identity of a person's style and quality of life. Reliable cognition of gait properties over time, continuous monitoring, accuracy of evaluation, and proper analysis of human gait characteristics have demonstrated their importance not only in clinical and medical studies, but also in the field of sports, rehabilitation, training, and robotics research. Focusing on walking gait, this study presents an overview on gait mechanisms, common technologies used in gait analysis, and importance of this particular field of research. Firstly, available technologies that involved in gait analysis are briefly introduced in this paper by concentrating on the usability and limitations of the systems. Secondly, key gait parameters and motion characteristics are elucidated from four angles of views; one: gait phases and gait properties; two: center of mass and center of pressure (CoM-CoP) tracking profile; three: Ground Reaction Force (GRF) and impact, and four: muscle activation. Thirdly, the study focuses on the clinical observations of gait patterns in diagnosing gait abnormalities of impaired patients. The presentation also shows the importance of gait analysis in sports to improve performance as well as to avoid risk of injuries of sports personnel. Significance of gait analysis in robotic research is also illustrated in this part where the study focuses on robot assisted systems and its possible applicability in clinical rehabilitation and sports training.
