L'évolution de la protection sociale, au Canada et au Québec, en direction d'un revenu minimum garanti se heurte, en l'état actuel des choses, à de formidables obstacles. Ces obstacles tiennent à la fragmentation et à complexité du système de sécurité sociale, à la souplesse et à la malléabilité que lui confère le recours à quatre techniques différentes de sécurité sociale, et surtout aux difficultés d'ordre constitutionnel et politique découlant principalement du partage des compétences législatives. Ce constat s'appuie sur une analyse du cadre juridique actuel de la protection sociale de base. Celle-ci comprend notamment l'assistance sociale, dont le cadre actuel au Québec est la Loi sur la sécurité du revenu. Parmi les principaux problèmes juridiques que suscite ou suscitera vraisemblablement cette loi, sont examinés : l'incidence des droits fondamentaux, celle du Régime d'assistance publique du Canada, et les exigences de la légalité administrative. Sont ensuite brièvement analysées les autres composantes de la protection sociale de base : les prestations de sécurité de la vieillesse et les prestations familiales. Le texte rappelle ensuite les caractéristiques des quatre techniques de sécurité sociale pratiquées au Canada et au Québec : l'assurance sociale, les prestations universelles, l'assistance sociale et la garantie de revenu. Ce rappel, qui vise à mettre en relief l'effet de complémentarité obtenu par le recours aux quatre techniques, débouche sur la critique de leurs inconvénients respectifs, qui dans aucun cas ne semblent en justifier l'abandon aux yeux du public et des dirigeants politiques. Enfin, le texte revient sur les tentatives de mise au point d'une formule de revenu minimum garanti pendant les années 1970. Il conclut de l'échec de ces tentatives, entreprises pourtant dans un climat politique et économique relativement favorable, qu'il n'y a pas lieu d'escompter l'aboutissement prochain de propositions nouvelles dans le même sens.

The curriculum of preprofessional university degree programs in dance typically comprise four components: theory and history, dance technique, creative process, and performance. This article focuses on critique in the modern dance technique and choreography components of the dance curriculum. Bachelor of Fine Arts programs utilize critique as a signature pedagogy because “pedagogies must measure up to the standards not just of the academy, but also of the particular professions” (Lee Shulman, 2005 ). Critique is an essential pedagogy in the training of dance artists and is a vital component of the dance field, as it facilitates an intellectual and kinesthetic deepening of the student’s engagement with the dance profession.

Abstract:

When using critical pedagogy in college classrooms, college students can sometimes experience critique fatigue -- a despondency that results from a saturation of analysis about experiences of oppression that they experience directly. This is especially the case when there is no creative outlet for political, emotional, or practical response to the critical course material built into the classroom activities. In this essay, I exlpore the idea of using scaffolding, a pedagogical technique where students help one another perform the tasks of the course "authonomously", as a way to mitigate critique fatigue. To get around the ableism and white supremacy of its more traditional iteration, though, I propose a "radical" form of scaffolding that supports students in setting and reaching their own learning goals through creative projects that engage topics most relevant to them.

Feminist Study scholars in the United-States have given serious attention to the issues related to technique over the last three decades, a topic which is not of much interest to their French counterparts. As for German scholars, their work is irreducible to any of these two opposite positions. The reflection exists, simply, in its own way. This article proposes to expose a few markers of the feminist critique of technique in Germany, assuming as a guideline a search for the reasons of its specificity. We will discuss the institutional aspects related to the introduction of this issue in Germany, a few topics and debates now recognized as foundational, and some more contemporary work of significance. These different explorations are also occasions to analyze both the influence of American production and the legacy of German philosophy that appear in this critical literature.

For any literary work, the narrative technique constitutes one of the essential requisites. How the art of narration is chiseled in a literary work is what lends it artistic and emotional credibility. In Kanthapura, Raja Rao experiments with the narrative technique. The novel is presented from the viewpoint of an old grandmother who relates the tale of the brave resistance of the people of Kanthapura to expel the British from India. The ancient Indian Puranic method has been preferred to the western narrative technique, which according to Raja Rao, suits the Indian credo and climate. In Kanthapura, Raja Rao sought to defamiliarize the English language by bringing to the standard English form Indian thought and feeling, Indian culture, and Indian ideology. The present paper essays to investigate how Raja Rao used different elements and structures in narrating Kanthapura as experimenting tools to lend the novel a lasting artistic quality that served the purpose he had in mind. The reliability of the narrator in her description and narration of incidents and characters will be under scrutiny.

Nul n’oserait soutenir que le savoir de l’architecte n’est pas un savoir critique. La critique du monde est en effet inhérente à tout projet qui vise à le transformer. Néanmoins, l’ampleur de la perspective ouverte par la conscience critique est un produit historique, qui change avec le temps. Depuis une quarantaine d’années (au moins depuis qu’on a accusé les architectes italiens d’opérer un « repli stratégique de l’architecture moderne »), une certaine notion de savoir « critique » assume une fonction de plus en plus prépondérante. Après la crise du lien supposé par les modernes entre langage architectural, programme de transformation sociale et perspectives éthiques, le concepteur n’agit plus seulement en fonction d’une disposition déterminée dans l’espace et le temps ; mais à travers le projet il ouvre un discours sur le monde qui présuppose d’autres espaces et temps futurs invérifiables. C’est ce qui s’est passé en Italie entre les années 1950 et 1980, où le projet a été interprété comme le véhicule neutre d’un discours élaboré principalement dans la tête de l’architecte. La prévalence de l’intention permet ainsi à l’architecte de proposer sa propre « vision du monde », dont la légitimité, fondée sur l’origine et non sur les effets, n’a pas besoin d’être négociée avec quiconque, et court constamment le risque d’être autoréférentiel. Si en revanche le projet se comprend comme le produit d’une stratégie continuellement déviée par un certain nombre d’instances, alors la condition critique perd son statut de tierce partie, et entre dans le jeu de l’action comme un outil parmi d’autres de la performance du projet. Placer le savoir critique à l’intérieur, et non au-dessus, du travail pratique permet d’ouvrir une réflexion systématique sur la puissance du projet. Cela implique un déplacement de l’attention du sujet-auteur vers l’objet-projet, et permet un traitement analytique et vérifiable des pratiques projectuelles. L’action projectuelle peut en effet se comprendre comme un ensemble spécifique de compétences et de pouvoirs à mi-chemin entre technique et politique, dimension bureaucratique et symbolique, prévision et narration.

Abstract: The paper underscores the infrastructural facility and the student’s academic performance in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. Thirty questionnaires were administered through a systematic sampling technique in each of the six faculties making a total of 180 questionnaires. The paper has found out a positive relationship between the student’s academic performance, power supply and health facilities. However, the internet facilities and transportation facilities were not adequate, whereas water supply was adequate. A test of the impact of infrastructural facility on the student’s academic performance, using a Chi Square statistical technique revealed a significant value of 177.1 at 0.05 % level. The paper recommends that the existing facilities should be upgraded and significantly improved by the government; urgent attention should be given to the development of the internet facilities and transportation sector of the University. Also, private partnership should be encouraged in the infrastructural development of the University.

La critique cinématographique a fort à faire lorsqu’il lui faut parler du cinéma actuel. Au plan de la technique, on ne produit plus de mauvais films et l’objet-film a une tendance à devenir neutre au plan esthétique. Il doit s’adapter à trop de normes, à trop de médias de diffusion. Il ne reste plus que l’histoire, le récit qu’il faut critiquer sans le dévoiler. Les grandes maisons de production accompagnent leur diffusion de dossiers étoffés sur les films qui fournissent à la critique tout ce qu’il faut savoir sur le produit sans avoir à faire de recherche. La critique publique est condamnée à l’inefficacité et elle doit chercher du côté de la critique spécialisée, universitaire ou non, un complément de savoir. Or, même la critique universitaire est obnubilée par les procédés narratifs. Aussi faut-il consentir un effort particulier pour redonner à la critique un rôle, une fonction à l’endroit du cinéma. La question est discutée à travers l’analyse d’un cas particulier, mais exemplaire, Schindler’s List de Steven Spielberg. C’est à travers une forme de variation critique que ce film peut éveiller chez le critique et le spectateur un jugement qui va au-delà de l’histoire racontée. Il y retrouve alors un film inquiétant, étrange malgré les prix et les distinctions dont il a été inondé.

RÉSUMÉ L’objectif de cet article est de contribuer à la clarté du débat entrepris dans de nombreux pays sur la réforme du système de retraite. Cette réforme est souvent présentée comme se limitant à un changement de technique de financement : on passerait de la répartition à la capitalisation. Or, il apparaît que capitalisation et répartition sont sous certaines hypothèses équivalentes et que les réformes proposées ne se limitent pas à passer de l’une à l’autre. Si seule changeait la technique de financement, il n’est généralement pas possible que la réforme soit Pareto-améliorante. Par exemple, toute réduction de l’endettement global — dette publique plus droits à la pension — favoriserait les générations futures mais pénaliserait toute, ou en tout cas une partie de la génération de transition. Il existe bien des modèles de réforme qui illustrent ce point de vue et prétendent accroître le bien-être de tous. Nous en présentons deux. Dans le premier, l’introduction de la capitalisation s’accompagne d’une réduction des distorsions liées aux cotisations sociales; dans le second, elle s’accompagne d’une subvention à l’épargne qui dans un contexte de croissance endogène a une productivité constante. Il apparaît que les gains de bien-être qu’entraînent ces réformes ne sont pas très importants; de plus ils ne sont pas liés à la privatisation comme telle; ils pourraient en effet être réalisés dans le cadre des systèmes actuels.

Abstract:

This article examines the phenomenon of “enlightened balletomanes” within the Russian ballet critique (XIX century), as well as peculiarities and key trends of their critique activity. Ballet critique, similar to the contemporary to it theatrical critique, recruited into its authors educated and literary gifted ballet enthusiasts. Observing ballet on the regular basis, the theatre habitues were turning into its connoisseurs; they payed detailed attention to dance technique and content of performances, its weak and strong sides, were able to describe a stage movement and a dance, as well as formulate their perceptions and assessments. Such experts, who also wielded a skillful pen, were called the “enlightenment balletomanes” in analogy with “enlightened theatregoers”.  Some of them used to be actors, journalist or dramaturgists, some even military officers or government officials, but being in a constant connection with the ballet theatre, they intergrew the profession of ballet peer reviewers and observers, contributing to the establishment of the professional ballet critique of its time.

Background: Wedge or other nonanatomic hepatic resections, performed in an attempt to spare functional parenchyma, often are not accomplished with clear resection margins and may be complicated by hemorrhage from the depth of the resection.Study Design: The current study describes a technique of cryoassisted hepatic resection that allows for controlled resection with well-defined margins. The early experience in managing 16 tumors in 13 patients is reported.Results: A cryoprobe is inserted into the tumor and freezing performed to a predetermined resection margin using ultrasound control. The ice ball, so formed, is then maintained and excised. The management of these 13 patients was associated with one intraoperative and two postoperative complications, including a death of a patient with cirrhosis who had infected ascites and died as a result of hepatic failure.Conclusions: Cryoassisted hepatic resection seems to be safe and allows resection with good tumor clearance and maximal preservation of functional parenchyma.

Abstract:

The literature contains a large number of publications on in vitro bond strength testing of materials used in orthodontics. The results are often quoted by manufacturers to support their products. Little attention has been paid to the detail of the test procedures used. However, a review of the literature revealed a large variation in the methods used for bond strength testing in orthodontics making comparison of papers difficult and often impossible. The case for a possible standard technique is suggested. It is hoped that this will lead to more meaningful testing of new products, which will produce more reliable guidance for the clinical orthodontist.

AbstractThis article seeks to analyze the theory of technology formulated by the philosopher Herbert Marcuse (1898–1979). It shows the ways in which the author repurposes fundamental concepts of classical aesthetics in order to formulate a theory of technology aimed at liberating both nature and humanity. To this end, we argue that Marcuse mobilizes the theories of Immanuel Kant (1724–1804) and Friedrich Schiller (1759–1805). In the first part of the article, we tackle some important aspects of Kant’s and Schiller’s aesthetic theories. We begin with an analysis of Kant’s Critique of the Power of Judgment (1790), focusing on central concepts that would later be absorbed by Schiller and Marcuse. Next, we try to show the reception of the Third critique in Schiller’s On the Aesthetic Education of Man (1795) and this author’s contribution to aesthetic studies within political thought. In the second part, we focus on Marcuse’s work, highlighting two key moments in his analysis on technology. We show that his theory undergoes transformation and development until it reaches its stable form in the 1960s and 1970s, during which the author proposes a new theory of technology based on human aesthetic possibilities whose goal is the liberation of nature.

Abstract:

This paper aims to prove the importance of Khaled Abou el-Fadhl's (b. 1963) critique on Salafibism for mainstreaming Islamic moderation in contemporary Indonesia. This research examines Khaled's critique using the approach of ‘ilm uṣūl al-fiqh, a technique that analyzes the nature, secrets, and purposes of Islamic teachings including its laws. The problem examined in this research is the significance of Khaled's critique on Salafibism for mainstreaming Islamic moderation in contemporary Indonesia. This research concludes that from the perspective of ‘ilm uṣūl al-fiqh, Khaled's critique on Salafibism is crucial for mainstreaming Islamic modernization in present-day Indonesia. The significance of the critique lies in three things: (1). Providing the new awareness and energy for Indonesian Islamic scholars to campaign for moderate Islam and rejects puritanical Islam, especially Salafibism. (2). It provides theoretical guidance for the Islamic moderation movement in Indonesia, especially the importance of the balance between literalism and maqāṣid as well as between text and context in understanding the holy book. (3). Creating the practical guidance for the Islamic moderation movement in Indonesia to counter extremism. This research indicates that adopting a moderate approach to Islam holds significant promise for achieving local, national, and global religious harmony. Abstract This review is devoted to discuss the unique characteristics of multi-jet electrospinning technique, compared to other spinning techniques, and its utilization in spinning of natural as well as synthetic polymers. The advantages and inadequacies of the current commercial chemical spinning methods; namely wet spinning, melt spinning, dry spinning, and electrospinning are discussed. The unconventional applications of electrospinning in textile and non-textile sectors are reported. Special emphasis is devoted to the theory and technology of the multijet electrospinning as well as its applications. The current status of multi-jet electrospining and future prospects are outlined. Using multi-jet electrospinning technique, various polymers have been electrospun into uniform blend nanofibrous mats with good dispersibility. In addition to the principle of multi-jet electro electrospinning, the different devices used for this technique are also highlighted.

Abstract:

A technique is described that motivates students to complete assigned readings of journal articles. The technique requires students to write a summary and critique of each article on an 8 × 5 in. index card. Students completing the readings receive two types of tangible benefits: extra course credit and use of their notecards during subsequent tests. Objective assessment of the technique in two classes indicated that students turned in notecards for 73.7% of the readings, and only one student failed to submit any notecards. Students responded positively to the technique on an end-of-term survey.

Ces perceptions ont été recueillies à l'aide de deux stratégies : la technique d’évaluation par animation de groupe (TEAG) et la technique de l’incident critique (Brunelle, Drouin, Godbout et Tousignant, 1988). Les énoncés obtenus ont été classés en catégories de facteurs de satisfaction ou d’insatisfaction (TEAG) et de facteurs propices ou peu propices à l’apprentissage (incident critique). Ces facteurs ont ensuite été regroupés en fonction de leur relation à l’un des objectifs spécifiques du programme de formation offert. Ces stratégies simples et peu coûteuses ont fourni des informations pertinentes sur le déroulement du programme de formation. Ces informations ont été utilisées pour formuler des hypothèses d’action afin d’améliorer ce programme. CARD (Collaborative Analysis of Requirements and Design) is a participatory technique for analyzing task flows and for redesigning task flows, in software systems. It provides a macroscopic complement to the more microscopic design activities that are supported by the PICTIVE technique. CARD uses the metaphor of a card game as the vehicle for communication and collaboration among users, developers, and designers. We describe the technique, and provide illustrative session protocols and assessment data. The paper closes with a comparison to other relevant participatory practices, and a discussion of CARD's shortcomings.

Critical thinking is often presented as a generic technique. This article develops an alternative that links critique more closely to the sociological perspective. I suggest three answers to the above question: that the sociological perspective is critical for comprehending complex issues, that all sociology is implicitly critical by virtue of its debunking tendency, and that some sociology is explicitly critical by virtue of value commitments that lead to a critique of domination. The article identifies some basic themes of what it means to think sociologically, discusses sociology's “double critique” in more detail, illustrates the critical potential of scientific, humanistic and critical approaches to sociology, and explores some implications of this approach for how we teach sociology. It concludes by suggesting that the goal of fostering critical thinking in our students might better be met by returning to the critical roots of our own discipline.

Studying hadith is a special study of hadith whose material is delivered virtually. The research method used is qualitative research. The data search technique in this study uses observation and documentation, the purpose of observation and documentation in this study is the delivery of material whatsapp group: Belajar Hadis Yuk entitled criticism of Imam Mahdi's hadiths. The data analysis technique of this research uses a manuscript study of the text presented in the study of hadith learning. The results of this study indicate that: Hadith study on whatsapp group Belajar Hadis Yuk talk about the Criticism of Hadiths Imam Mahdi has provided insights on group members who do not study hadith in a special institution. The study can be accessed virtually via google meet discussing the critique of the hadiths of Imam Mahdi.

Cette conjonction se compose de sept types, c’est-à dire: conjonction de temps, conjonction de concession/d’opposition, conjonction de but, conjonction de conséquence, conjonction de cause, conjonction de condition, conjonction de comparaison. Chaque type des conjonctions a une caractéristique qui le distingue des autres. Cette recherche parle seulement des conjonctions des subordinations des causes. Le but de cette recherche est de savoir et de décrire la forme, la signification, et l’emploi de ces conjonctions de subordinations des causes dans la langue française.Cette recherche parle des conjonctions de subordinations des causes, consistent en la forme, la signification, et l’emploi des conjonctions subordinations des causes. Selon Grevisse (2008), la forme des conjonctions de subordinations des causes se compose de deux formes, c’est-àdire : La forme simple et locutions conjonctives. La signification des conjonctions de subordinations des causes selon Delatour (1991) se compose de deux sens, c’est-à-dire : certitude et incertitude. Cela dépend de l’utilisation du mode. Et puis, Grevisse (2008) dit aussi que l’emploi des conjonctions de subordinations des causes se compose de la position des conjonctions. Cette recherche utilise deux approches, ce sont l’approche de théorétique (l’approche de la syntaxe) et l’approche de méthodologique (descriptive analytique qualitative). Les sources de données utilisées dans cette recherche se compose dent de trois parties, c’est-à-dire : des manuelles françaises (Version Originale, Café Crème, et Campus II), des œuvres littéraires françaises (Madame Bovary, Les Trois Mousquetaires, Les Misérable, Germinal, L’étranger, Nana et Le Malade Imaginaire), et aussi du journal en ligne « Le Monde » et aussi des magazines en ligne « ELLE et Futura Planète ». La méthode de recueillir des données dans cette recherche est la méthode de simak (la méthode d’épargne) avec la technique de basse sadap (la technique de taraudage de langue) et les techniques avancées : la technique SBLC (la chercheuse ne participe pas à la conversation réelle) et la technique catat (la chercheuse a obtenu les données de prise de notes dans la carte de données). La méthode utilisée dans cette recherche est la méthode distributionnelle avec l’utilisation de la technique de basse Bagi Unsur Langsung (B-U-L), et puis continuée par la technique avancée, c’est la technique de permutation. Les étapes de cette recherche sont: Collecter des données, identifier et classifier des phrases contenant les subordinations des causes dans la langue française et ensuite les arranger dans le corpus de données, lire tous les phrases contenant les conjonctions de subordinations des causes, traduire tous les phrases contenant les conjonctions de subordinations des causes, et analyser de la forme, le sens, et l’emploi conjonctions de subordinations des causes.
