Abstract:
The history of Technical Writing closely parallels trends in the discipline of Computer Science. The early technical writers in the computer software industry were its own technicians (programmers and analysts), who used a variety of diagramming techniques to document computer systems. As a result of the widespread availability of computers and software which began in the 1970s, professional communicators joined the software industry and reinterpreted these diagramming techniques from technical source documents into user documentation. The impact of this assimilation process has influenced graphic representations in Technical Writing, as well as created the conceptual metaphors of the “user” and the “module” (which are emerging archetypes). In the past, Technical Writing's historical roots have been the result of reactions to Computer Science. However, the increasing presence of online documentation is now creating opportunities for technical writers to shape their own future by joining with computer scientists as influential equals.

Abstract:
Considering the great social demand for qualified technically oriented workers, it is necessary to develop the interest in technical fields. The article introduces research focused on mapping the current situation of (non)interest of primary-school students in technical fields and especially verification of whether the (non)interest is linked to the popularity of technically oriented subjects at primary schools. Primary schools in the Czech Republic involve pupils at the age of 6–15. The reasons, why technically oriented subjects are not popular, will be evaluated to provide possible solutions.

Abstract:
Pharmacy has evolved into a highly sophisticated profession. Many daily technical tasks are being delegated to personnel other than pharmacists as responsibilities and demand for services increase. The question facing pharmacy is how to support technical activities so that the public, healthcare, and profession are served with quantity and quality of services. A logical approach would be to develop a pool of well-trained technical personnel, technicians. Pharmacy technicians are currently trained through the military, technical/community colleges, vocational schools, and hospitals. Technician education has no organization to set policy, establish standards, or require compliance. Technician training and issues are profession-wide in significance if pharmacy, healthcare, and the public are to be appropriately served.

Abstract:
The study determined the role of technical education programme in creating job opportunities for technical education graduates in Rivers State. A sample size of 100 male postgraduate students out of a population 250 male postgraduate technical education students through purposive sampling technique was used for the study while 32 female postgraduate t echnical education students were used without sampling. The instrument used for data collection was a - 28 items questionnaire structured in a – 4 points rating scale which was validated by three experts in technical education and its reliability coefficient of 0.80 was obtained using Cronbach’s Alpha co-efficient method. Men and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while z-test was used to test the three hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The major findings revealed that electrical/electronics technology skills such as ability to design and interpret drawings, ability to use modern equipment to detect electrical faults are skills that can create job opportunities for technical education graduates, building technology skills such as ability to design building plan, ability to interpret building plan are skills that can create job opportunities as supervisor or technician for technical education graduates upon graduation in Rivers State. Based on the findings, it was recommended among others, that modern equipment, tools and machines should be supplied to all the technical training institutions workshops for effective teaching and learning process. In addition, institutions of higher learning in Nigeria should ensure that they liaise with industries around them to form partnership to ease the impartation of necessary effective skills that graduates of technical education needed for employment upon graduation.
