Abstract:
The humanistic learning was done by emphasizing student-centered learning on natural and social phenomena. Unfortunately, only a few schools can realize humanist learning due to a variety of reasons and considerations. Budi Mulia 2 is one of the schools in Yogyakarta, Indonesia that realize humanistic social studies learning by providing a wide opportunity for students to seek information and reconstruct knowledge independently. The research aims to investigate the implementation of humanistic learning at junior high school in district of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The study was directing the survey method with sample of 63 students of 8th grade. Sample selection done by purposive sampling, because the social studies learning in its class carried out by humanists. Data analysis techniques were carried out with descriptive statistics to find the central tendency. The humanistic social studies learning at Budi Mulia 2 supported by the school’s vision and mission which view each individual as a unique personality. In that context, teachers use learning methods that place students as the subjects, thus allowing them to learn, explore and seek information independently. In general, Budi Mulia 2 students feel that the school has provided adequate facilities to support their learning activities. Teachers have given serious attention by providing support, motivation, and serving the students as well as possible.

INTISARIPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu guru dalam memberikan materi sejarah tentang Indonesia dalam Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosialagar siswa lebih tertarik dan memiliki wawasan luas tentang masa lalu Indonesia. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk siswa kelas 5 SD Negeri Bumijo Yogyakarta. Permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah metode pembelajaran yang digunakan guru masih menggunakan metode konvensional dalam pembelajaran dan kurang kreatif, serta keterbatasan alat bantu atau media, sehingga menyulitkan guru untuk menyampaikan materi. Untuk membantu pengajaran guru dalam proses belajar mengajar dan meningkatkan tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap mata pelajaran sejarah, maka diperlukan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan Animasi 2D menggunakan metode SWOT. Dari hasil pengujian dengan jumlah responden 32 orang diantaranya merupakan mahasiswa dengan konsentrasi multimedia menghasilkan nilai prosentase 82,6% tergolong pada kategori sangat baik kemudian untuk hasil pengujian ahli dengan jumlah responden 2 orang menghasilkan nilai prosentase sebesar 85% dengan kategori sangat baik.Kata kunci— Media Pembelajaran, Animasi, Sejarah Indonesia. ABSTRACTThis study aims to assist teachers in providing historical material about Indonesia in Social Sciences so that students are more interested and have broad insight into Indonesia's past. This research is aimed at 5th grade students of SD Negeri Bumijo Yogyakarta. In this case, the problem faced is that the learning method used by the teacher still uses conventional methods in learning and is less creative, as well as the limitations of tools or media, making it difficult for teachers to deliver material. To assist the teaching of teachers in the teaching and learning process and increase the level of students' understanding of history subjects, it is necessary to learn using 2D animation using the SWOT method. From the test results with the number of respondents 32 people of whom are students with a concentration of multimedia produces a percentage value of 82.6% belonging to the very good category then for the results of expert testing with the number of respondents 2 people produce a percentage value of 85% with a very good category.Kata kunci— Learning Media, Animation, Indonesian History.

Purpose of the study: This study aims to describe the behavior of playing gadgets on Budi Mulia Dua Junior High School students in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, find the score of gadget playing behavior on Budi Mulia Dua Junior High School students in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and find the dominant factor of gadget playing behavior on Budi Mulia Dua Junior High School Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Methodology: The method used in this study mix method research design with an exploratory mix method approach. The research subjects were students of Budi Mulia Dua Junior High School in Yogyakarta, Indonesia with a sample of 151 students, 7 teachers, 3 educational staff, and the head of Budi Mulia Dua Junior High School Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Research data were collected through observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. Main Findings: The results of this study indicate that the gadgets playing behavior of students in Budi Mulia Dua Yogyakarta, Indonesia are included in the good category, which is in the range of scores between 379-492. The score of the gadgets playing behavior was 484.3. Applications of this study: The students still have emotionally stable and controlled when using gadgets, have self-control over the use of gadgets, still pay attention to personal health in the use of gadgets, and discipline in the selection of gadget usage. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research confirms that the physical-motor condition in gadget playing behavior is the most dominant factor for creating good behavior for students in playing gadgets because the physical-motor becomes a reference in playing gadget behavior because physical-motor can reflect in a complex way how Student cognitive knowledge about gadgets. and their use, as well as how students are social-emotional when using gadgets.

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of principal’s competencies implementation at SMA Negeri 3 Yogyakarta and SMA Internasional Budi Mulia Dua Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The research was an evaluation research using the discrepancy model of evaluation. The respondents were vice principals, teachers, as well as administrative officers. The data was collected through the questionnaires, the results of the study showed that the effectiveness of the principal’s competencies implementation at SMA Negeri 3 Yogyakarta is: personality competencies 78.84% effective, managerial competencies 82.69% effective, entrepreneurship competencies 78.84% effective, supervision competencies 84.61% effective, and social competencies 86.53% effective, while in the SMA Internasional Budi Mulia Dua was: personality competencies 100% effective, managerial competencies 100% effective, entrepreneurship competencies 100% effective, supervision competencies 96% effective, and social competencies 100% effective. The effectiveness of the principal’s competencies implementation of SMA Internasional Budi Mulia Dua Yogyakarta was better compared to SMA Negeri 3 Yogyakarta.Keywords: the effectiveness of personality competencies, managerial competencies, entrepreneurship competencies, supervision competencies, social competencies

Placemaking phenomena in the riverside settlement ofYogyakarta, Indonesia has been created on the independence land. Thispaper discuss the process of their activities: what, where and how do theactivities taking place, by whom, when did they do. These are potentiallyhave some problems, so that it needs the strategy to anticipate. By usingthe research result funded by Directorate of Higher Education Republic ofIndonesia, and updated by self research funded, the activities werecategorized and discriptively analysed. Author have found the placemakingcriteria achievement in terms of domestic, and recreational activities. Theirproblems are in terms of illegality, unsafety, and unhealthy conditions. Theprospects are in terms of social, economic, and tourism creations whichpromote strong sense of community, encourage social interaction, incomegeneration, promote sustainability, and attract a strong labour force. On theother hand, it should be developed and managed by regulation, andadvocacy to minimize risks.

Abstract:
The COVID 19 pandemic insists schools to close and embark on the digital environment to keep learning to happen. Implementing this learning in educational settings faces challenges related to human resources and infrastructure issues particularly in developing countries. This study investigated the teachers’ readiness in conducting digital learning in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This exploratory study employed an online questionnaire and semi-structured interviews via either voice calls or video calls to safely gather both quantitative and qualitative data from 62 teachers of 27 different schools in the middle of social distancing regulation in Yogyakarta. The study revealed that the majority of teachers were psychologically, technologically, and pedagogically ready to conduct digital learning. However, the digital learning problem was mostly coming from teachers who teach in rural areas. Students’ technology affordances mainly caused a disparity of digital learning success. The findings suggest that the choice of technology adoption and methodology adjustment can be viewed as a solution to the current digital learning problem. Finally, instead of the teachers’ readiness, the students’ readiness and teachers’ technological pedagogical knowledge are other key aspects of the digital learning success. Thus, these two issues are suggestive for further studies.

Teacher’s self-efficacy can be varied according to experience gained, experience obtained from other people, social influences, and also physical and psychological welfare. In the context of teacher’s efficacy in Indonesia and Malaysia, those are certain become different because it undergoes differently. The aim of the research is to convey the difference between teachers in Malaysia and Indonesia from the perspective of a teacher's efficacy in teaching. This research is a comparative study. The research subjects were elementary school teachers who were continuing their studies in post graduate programs at Yogyakarta State University and Sultan Idris University of Education. They are given a scale of teacher efficacy in teaching consisting of three sub-scale that is teacher’s efficacy in involving students in learning, executing learning process, and class management. Research result shows that actually, in general, there are no significant differences in teacher efficacy in teaching between teachers in Malaysia and Indonesia. However, if differences are seen from each factor, it appears that there are differences in the efficacy of teachers in involving students in learning, while the efficacy in instructional learning strategies, and efficacy in classroom management, there are still no significant differences.

Abstract:
BACKGROUND: Conjunctivitis is one of the most common eye disorders in the worldwide. The incidence of conjunctivitis in Indonesia reached 73% of the population. Conjunctivitis cases in Yogyakarta City have increased from year to year. AIM: This study purposed to identify the social-environmental risk factors that influence the incidence of conjunctivitis in Yogyakarta. METHODS: Design study was an observational analytic method with a case–control research design. The population study was all the patients visited at the Eye Clinic of PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital and private hospital Yogyakarta in 2019. The total sample is 204 respondents who were divided into case and control. One hundred and four respondents were in a case while 100 were controlled. The case was a conjunctivitis patient treated at the Eye Clinic of PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital and private hospital Yogyakarta in 2019, while the control was a non-conjunctivitis patient who went to the same two hospitals as the case respondent. Data were collected by direct interviews using a structured questionnaire covering the respondents’ demographics and social-environmental conditions. Then, the data were analyzed using SPSS 15.0 univariate and bivariate using Chi-square. RESULTS: The results of the bivariate analysis showed that age, the distance between the house and the river, the distance between the place and the temporary garbage dump, contacted from a close friend, the windows of the house were always opened every day as risk factors affecting the incidence of conjunctivitis. CONCLUSION: The study’s decision is the social-environmental as a risk factor for conjunctivitis in Yogyakarta.

Abstract:
This study focuses on the implementation of national intervention programs for street children in the province of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A two-fold research methodology was employed, a combination of analyzing the pertinent documentation relating to policy and intervention programs along with interviews of key informants from government offices and non-governmental institutions. The current programs fail to address the root causes of the economic, political, and social barriers encountered by street children. National policies and programs are not intertwined with efforts of empowerment at the provincial and regional levels. To compound these deficiencies, adaptive strategies incorporating local culture, conditions, and needs are also absent in the planning and implementation of official programs. Alternative efforts are required to rectify the inadequacies endemic to current approaches for assisting street children. A number of recommendations are presented in this study, which take into consideration the complex problems presented by existing programs and suggest a rethinking and a redesign of contemporary methodologies in Indonesia.

Abstract:
Puppet theater on the island of Java is an ancient art which has maintained some of its characteristics considered traditional, but has also been transforming innovations such as the wayang with hip-hop music among other popular expressions. The art of puppetry has also been institutionalized and is itself a degree program at the National Institute of Arts of Indonesia. In this paper, I show the outcomes of my research among students and shadow puppet art teachers in Java, Indonesia. There are two special characteristics in training puppeteers: The main use of Jawanese language and the development of communities of practice as ways of working in the teaching and learning process. As such, these contexts motivate students to be constantly reflecting on the Javanese language and culture. I note the process and the reflections of the participants on the Javanese language shift, and the uses of language in puppet performances which consider the reception of young Javanese. To analyze the data, I draw from fieldwork and interviews, I use the theoretical concepts of discursive genres and dialogism proposed by Bakhtin and I propose that the art of puppetry is a social field that encourages vitality and linguistic diversity on the island of Java.

Abstract:
Background: Quality of life is actually a broader construct that encompasses aspects of life that may not be amenable to healthcare service. The quality of life of children is a subjective perception of satisfaction or happiness on quality of life. The quality of life is influenced by various factors, namely health conditions, socio-economic status, parenting styles, and the environment. According to HL Bloom’s theory, health status is determined by 40 percent of environmental factors, 30 percent of behavioral factors, 20 percent of health services, and 10 percent of genetics or heredity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of social capital, parenting, and the environment on the quality of life among children. Subjects and Method: This was a retrospective cohort study. Total of 400 children aged 2-4 years old who reside in the desa layak anak villages and ordinary villages in the region of Sleman regency. The dependent variable was quality of life among children. The independent variables were social capital, parenting, and the environment. Data were obtained from in-depth interview and questionnaire. Data were analyzed using path analysis. Results: The good quality of life of children was affected directly by positive social capital (b = 0.084; SE = 0.049; p = 0.001), good parenting style (b = 0.123; SE = 0.050; p <0.001), and good environment (b = 0.128; SE = 0.048; p <0.001). Conclusion: Social capital, parenting and environment have a direct influence on the quality of life among children.
