Information literacy is an important skill student must gain, and college teachers are major contributor to this independent lifelong learning and enhance students' library engagement. This study attempted to establish that college teachers’ involvement in the promotion of information influenced students' library engagement. This assumption was verified in one of the higher educational institutions (HEIs) in the Southern part of Bukidnon, Philippines. A concurrent nested mixed method research design using one modified survey questionnaire on the constructs was the main primary source of the quantitative and qualitative data. Three hundred twenty-eight (328) students from one of the HEIs participated and assessed their respective college teachers' involvement in promoting information literacy. Participants were college students scheduled to get their modules from their teachers during the school year 2021-2022. Descriptive statistics, and regression analysis used and complemented with qualitative data from students. The study revealed that teachers' involvement is a significantly influences student engagement in the library. Through the integrated application of Library information system and campus culture of Guangxi colleges as well as the research of Guangxi colleges serving developments of China-ASEAN, and Guangxi Beibu Gulf economic region, this paper provides solution of integrated construction of college campus culture and library information system on informatization condition. In the system of college campus culture construction based on perspective of Gungxi colleges, college library information resource is used as medium to integrate into cultural connotation serving regional economy on the basis of knowledge architecture, with applications of Internet, computer telecom integration technology as well as IVR and TTS technology, communication tools commonly used by college students and teachers are adopted as informatization approaches, concept identification system, activity identification system, visual identification system, subject and specialty service system, environment and culture planning system and other unified information general culture systems are established, and e-mail, voice message, short message, WAP, real time communication, web, VoIP and other campus culture interactive measures are realized. The reconfigurable analysis of aggregate diagnosis flow proves the integrated construction of campus culture and library unified information is feasible.

Reading only textbooks or coursebooks is not enough for English language teachers. In addition to textbooks, they should read several books for their academic advancement. Keeping this in mind, this descriptive survey design under quantitative research tried to find out the book reading habits of the college level English Language (EL) teachers. The participants of the study consisted of 20 English language teachers who have been teaching English in different Tribhuvan University (TU) affiliated colleges located in Banke district. The participants were selected employing simple random sampling technique. The data was collected using a questionnaire which included altogether fifteen questions. The first ten questions were closed ended and the last five questions were open ended. The collected data was analyzed based on the descriptive statistics technique of data analysis. The results of the study showed that the average number of books the college teachers read in a year is approximately four. Similarly, the majority of college teachers have no habits of reading even a single book in a month. Another finding of this study is that college teachers prefer extensive reading over intensive one. Moreover, the college teachers believed that the library is the main source for college teachers to read.

The study aims to determine the impact of awareness, knowledge, and attitude toward plagiarism on the plagiarism activity of college teachers in Maharashtra State, India. Two hundred seventy-two college teachers within Maharashtra State, India, participated in the survey. The study used purposive and snowball sampling techniques. The college teachers have a reasonable awareness and moderate knowledge of plagiarism. The college teachers bore a positive attitude toward plagiarism. The results of multiple regression analysis showed a significant influence of all three independent variables on the plagiarism activities of college teachers. Attitude towards plagiarism was forecasted as the highest predictor of plagiarism activities of college teachers, followed by knowledge of plagiarism.

In spring 2001 students at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at The University of Texas at Austin created a Virtual Library of education resources for pre-service teachers at Northwest Indian College (NWIC) in Lummi, Washington, one of thirty-two tribal colleges in the United States. The Virtual Library includes pathfinders on topics such as emergent literacy and the impact of technology on indigenous peoples. In addition, the Virtual Library includes links to related sources in Information Literacy andlibrary instruction as well as handouts providing instruction on using applications such as PowerPoint Adobe Photoshop, and Flash.

This study analyzed the information seeking behaviour of the teachers and students at College of Engineering, King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this study, data collected from 150 teachers and students by administering questionnaires on their information seeking and requirements of the College of Engineering, indicates that guidance in the use of library resources and services is necessary to help teachers and students to meet their information requirements. Found that journals, textbooks and electronic information sources are the most popular sources of information for the students’ course work. Recommends that latest edition of textbooks and reference materials should add to the library collections. Suggests that the CD-ROM databases of journal archives and reference books should be added and users should be guided to use the resources of the library.

This paper focuses on the awareness, use, satisfaction and problems regarding the available library resources at Dronacharya College of Engineering. In this study, the perspectives of teachers and students were compared side by side. To collect data from 400 targeted samples (350 students and 50 teachers) with the help of a structured questionnaire designed to cover all possible aspects required to fulfil the study objectives using the descriptive survey method. Based on the responses of 236 valid respondents (59.00%), it can be inferred that although the library offers a sizable collection of print and electronic resources, it is somewhat short on valued and updated materials. Besides, students put the internet facility into serious question. Overall, the teachers are neutrally satisfied with the collection and the students are satisfied enough. Updated collection, demand driven acquisition, expanded internet access, and awareness campaigns are just a few suggested actions that could improve user satisfaction and the effective use of library resources. Global education system has tremendous impact on changes in all aspects of development. Nothing is stagnant in this global world and every country is running behind sustainability and progression. In this phenomena, education system is one of the major key indicator to evaluate the country’s development and the education system does not remain static/constant. It is a dynamic process in which many rapid changes emerge from time to time according to the requirement of the country’s progress. Education is the bed rock for a healthy and progressive society, the transmission of knowledge, skills and application of these aspects could be learnt through education system. The variables used in this study are Self appraisal, Salary, awards and rewards, performance appraisal, Department Climate, Infrastructure In Terms Of Library, Psychological Advantage, Professional Development And Higher Studies, Locational disadvantage, Infrastructure.This study has designed to evaluate professional commitment of first grade college teachers, the study covers total 800 respondents (permanent Commerce teachers) from all six regions, 400 respondents (permanent Commerce teachers) from Rural colleges and 400 permanent Commerce teachers from city colleges in Karnataka. Out of the 800 respondents 623 respondents have responded, thus making the response rate as 77.86 per cent. Simple linear regression model is used to analyse the data (SPSS 19.0).

Life and career skills are two of many required skills in the 21st century learning. Etiquette lesson becomes essential in preparing college students to cope with the working world. This study aims at comparing the etiquette lesson employed in the English Program of the Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Indonesia and in the Business English Program of the Foreign Language School of Chengdu Textile College (CDTC) China. The data were collected through doing interviews with etiquette teachers, doing observation in both colleges, and conducting library research. Afterwards, the data were categorized into three areas; course syllabus, topics and activities, and assessment; they were then analyzed using Business Etiquette Significant Learning Taxonomy and 21st Century Learning Framework. This study reveals that all aspects of Business Etiquette Significant Learning are employed within the lesson in both colleges.

Purpose This paper aims to teach educators a variety of ways to navigate the digital collections of the Library of Congress, which include primary source materials from the past which can be used to instruct students of all grade levels from elementary through college. Design/methodology/approach Workshops for preservice teachers, practicing teachers and their college-level and librarian counterparts focused on advanced searching skills and pedagogical structures which help students access primary sources and use them as evidence to draw conclusions about historical events in history. Findings Many of the Library of Congress’ holdings have been digitized, described and categorized for ease of access (subject, keyword and metadata descriptors) and for ease of rights management (copyright, ownership and permissions indicated for each digital object). Practical implications Digitized primary sources help students create deeper understandings of historical events and periods and allow for multiple perspectives on the same events, thus teaching students valuable skills in drawing conclusions based on primary and secondary information sources. Originality/value Online collections from the Library of Congress are free for use by teachers, students and the general public, and the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources program makes available free training for teachers in how to use the materials, as well as provides lesson plans, project ideas and thematic units for use in K-12 schools and beyond.

Pre-service teachers use Curriculum Materials Centers (CMCs) to find resources to use in assignments for college-level pre-service coursework and to use in practice teaching with PK-12 students. CMCs that visually and environmentally resemble school library media centers can transition pre-service CMC users into classroom teachers who use school library media centers for personal professional growth and to enrich their teaching. This article presents a case study of one CMC to illustrate this transition.

Social media is becoming an inseparable part of modern education system. The present study is an attempt to investigate the awareness, use, purposes and major problems faced while using applications of social media in medical colleges. The data for the present study was collected from the 8 medical colleges of Punjab State of India. A self-designed questionnaire was designed and random sampling method was used to collect the data from the target population i.e. 400 (200 teachers and 200 students with a sample of 25 teachers and 25 students from each medical college i.e. 50X8 = 400). Out of 400 distributed questionnaires, 341 (85.25%) including 146 (73%) teachers and 195 (97.5%) students were received back dully filled in. The results of the present survey show that 69.2% of respondents have average knowledge and awareness of social media. 83.3% use social media applications for educational enhancement purposes. The major problem faced by the respondents is privacy issues with 43.9% responses. The study suggested that library services supplemented by social media applications can prove a great boon to the medical library users in getting the right information at the right time.

In the present study Researcher tried to identify the problems of B.Ed. Teacher trainees. Random sampling technique was used for selecting the sample. The total sample was that of 90 B.Ed. Teacher trainees from three B.Ed. colleges. Researcher used Survey method in this study. The collected data were analyzed by using the qualitative research methods. Results shows that Lack of fluency in the language of instruction, Lack of ICT related subject in curriculum, In-Ability to create and sustain an effective learning environment,Students feel stage fear after the experience of forty stray lessons and New teaching techniques were not used in instructional process. Separate rooms were not provided for every method. Transport facility was not provided to students by the management. Some college don’t have LCD projector. Lack of expert teachers. Lack of Proper guidance for preparing qualitative lesson plan. Lesson Planning format were no change. Lack of subject wise teaching aids in every college and various useful equipments in Psycho lab for teaching psychology. Most of the colleges don’t have sufficient numbers of teaching aids and reference books in the library. Sometimes librarians’ behavior is problematic for students. Lack of arrangement of the Campus interview by College and Expert lectures for the development of Student.

The Best practices are helping the users to derive maximum satisfaction from the library services. It is customer satisfaction through product or service. In an academic library student and teachers are the customers who are part of the academic community. Tiwari (2016) has proved that innovate services are more significant than heavy advertisements. This study has concluded that the library innovations service of the library can help the purpose of advanced teaching and learning. Yasmin and Gnanaprasad (2017) have adopted fourteen best practices of the library services. This study concluded that best practices help to improve the quality of library services. This study has to examine the efficiency and effectiveness of the Content Management Software, Web page information sources, awareness programme of the Arts and Science College libraries of Dindigul District. Primary data was collected through questionnaire method. Garret’s Ranking Techniques was used for this study to analyze the data. E-mail alert facilities are necessary to improve the quality of the best practices of the library service.

The Library of the Jesuit college in Lviv is known as the biggest and best-equipped library in the city. It was founded at the beginning of the 17th century, and after one hundred years, there were approximately 12,000 books. But there was a huge loss of books after a great fire in 1734. After that Jesuits restored their book collection. Historiography says that there were approximately 10,000 books in the library at the time of the dissolution of the Society of Jesus. Unfortunately, it is impossible to verify the information about 10,000 books because historians still cannot find an old catalogue of the library. In the article, the author analyzes manuscript III 12719 from the National Library in Warsaw. The author proves that this manuscript is the catalogue of the library of the Jesuit college in Lviv. This catalogue was created in 1774, after the dissolution of the Jesuits. Its author was a former Jesuit monk, Stanisław Chmielowski, who was assigned by Austrian authority to create catalogues of the libraries of the abolished Jesuit colleges. According to this catalogue, the Jesuit library consisted not of 10,000 books but of 5,000. It corresponds to the information from Ludwik Grzebień, the author of the best known research about the Jesuit libraries in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. After 1713, the Jesuit library in Lviv was still functioning. Due to the order of Vienna’s authority, the Jesuit library was turned into a public library. It was the first public library in the city. At the same time, the library arranged an educational process in schools in the city. As stated by inscriptions in the catalogue, teachers, clergy, and civil servants were the readers of the library. In 1784, the former Jesuit library became a part of the Lviv University Library.

Expensive technological hardware and software, prohibitively high cost of installing e-learning systems, the dedication required in terms of time and skills development, and experts required to service e-learning resources systems are some challenges developing countries face in using e-resources for teaching and learning. In the context of these challenges, this study was conducted at a library of a secondary teachers’ college Y in Zimbabwe to gain insight into the nature of E-Resources Integration. Qualitative research methods involving interviews, observations, and document analysis were used to generate data. Interviewees who volunteered were pre-services teachers, teacher educators, Librarians, and ICT personnel managing the e-resources system. Through thematic analysis, data were presented as verbatim, and narratives were interpreted to unpack meaning imbued. Findings show that power outages, poor internet connectivity, lack of e-resources awareness by prospective users, competencies in using e-resources, and computers, were factors that inhibited effective e-resources use for teaching and learning. As a recommendation, libraries should design and provide e-learning resource services that motivate learners consistent with their information needs, increasing the probability of using such resources.

Curriculum resources: colleges and enterprises jointly build, open and share high-quality curriculum resources, virtual teaching resources and teaching resource library. Enhance the industry influence of professional group leaders, cultivate backbone teachers of technical experts, and build a team of high-quality part-time teachers. Build a productive training base and virtual factory with industry-leading enterprises, and build a practical teaching base combining education and training. Deepen the integration of industry and education by building a four party collaborative education management mechanism of "government, administration, enterprises and colleges", a college enterprise collaborative education management mechanism, promoting the coordinated development of professional chain and industrial chain, and creating a platform for the integration of industry and education. The construction scheme of professional group is effective.

Background: Medical education exposes students to authentic learning situations and need epistemological access to tacit knowledge, skills and practice in order to interpret patient problems. Adopting a new teaching-learning approach is daunting task. Blended learning offers opportunities for the complexity of learning by integrating face-to-face and online interaction. However, this growing demand for blended learning possesses problems and challenges that are noteworthy to investigate, specifically in medical education. Method: This descriptive type of cross-sectional study was conducted to reflect different lenses of experiences by the medical teachers on views of blended leaning in undergraduate medical education in Bangladesh. Data collected from eight medical colleges of Bangladesh. Convenient sampling technique adopted for selection of medical college and the respondents were selected from the medical college purposively. Self-administered semi-structured questionnaire was administered to collect data from 70 medical teachers to gain more details insight related with this research issue. Results: This study revealed out that most teachers owned digital equipments, from smartphones (100%) to laptops (91.4% of teachers), had optimum knowledge and skill in ICT (88.6% of teachers), were using social networking (91.4% of teachers). All (100%) respondents stated that they did not have established e-library facilities and no established Information Technology (IT) laboratory facilities as opined by 43% of teachers in their medical colleges. The data analysis ascertained that the teachers were in affirmative consensus on the components of teaching learning process. By mean scores of 5-point likret scale, satisfying prominent components were listed as organizing teaching process by the teachers (4.3 for teachers) and well design curriculum (4.3 for teachers). In this study, maximum 55.1% of teachers respondents preferred 20-40% of overall online class. Conclusion: The study recommended that a proper framework that integrate policies, curriculum contents alone with technological and electronic innovation matching with blended learning format to stimulate teaching and learning process in the path for successful introduction of blended learning in undergraduate medical education in Bangladesh. The library knowledge safety group is a group with innovative and effective. It is a kind of close relationship in user. To a certain extent changed my attitude of teachers, improve the library college library services, truly builds a win-win situation of university library, information resource guarantee system and discipline. Provide professional knowledge safety should need to build knowledge library service system and forming knowledge and innovation and professional disciplines the realty service for teaching and research universities range. Along with the network technology unceasing development, technical development and interdisciplinary detailed knowledge management service discipline will be a long-term and arduous task.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to report the training of college librarians, academic and management staff, IT managers and students on how to organise, manage and use a user-friendly library. In Uganda, as in many countries, the problem is that school and/or college libraries are managed by librarians who may have good cataloguing and management skills, but who do not have the pedagogic skills and knowledge of the school curricula that are necessary for librarians to be able to guide and mentor both teachers and students or organise curriculum-related activities or facilitate research. The development of user-friendly libraries contributes in improving education quality through nurturing the interest of students and teachers in literacy activities and active search for knowledge. Under the stewardship of the Belgium Technical Cooperation and the Ministry of Education in Uganda, library stakeholders were trained on how to put users – rather than themselves – in the centre of the library’s operations and introduced to active teaching and learning methodologies and activities with emphasis on getting engaged in transforming spaces, services, outreach to users and collections. Several measures, short and long term were taken to address the gaps limiting the performance of the librarians. Given the disparities in the trainees’ education level and work experience, the training was delivered in seven modules divided into three units for over eight months in 2015. By the end of the training, trainees developed unique library strategic plan, library policies and procedures, capacity to use library systems, physical design and maintenance systems, partnerships, library structure and staff job descriptions. Design/methodology/approach To effectively engage the participants each topic was conducted using active teaching and learning (ATL) methodologies, including: lecture with slides and hands-on practice – each topic was introduced in a lecture form with slides and hands-on exercises. The main goal was to introduce the participants to the concepts discussed, offer opportunities to explore alternative approaches, as well define boundaries for discussion through brainstorming. The question-answer approach kept the participants alert and to start thinking critically on the topic discussed – brainstorming sessions allowed thinking beyond the presentation room, drawing from personal experiences to provide alternatives to anticipated challenges. The goal here was for the participants to provide individual choices and approaches for real life problems; group discussions: case study/ scenario and participant presentations – participants were provided with a scenario and asked to provide alternative approaches that could solve the problem based on their personal experience at their colleges. By the end of the group discussion, participants presented a draft of the deliverable as per the topic under discussion. More so, group discussions were an excellent approach to test participant’s teamwork skills and ability to compromise, as well as respecting team decisions. It was an opportunity to see how librarians will work with the library committees. Group discussions further initiated and cemented the much-needed librarian–academic staff – college management relationship. During the group discussion, librarians, teaching staff, ICT staff and college management staff, specifically the Principals and Deputy Principals interacted freely thus starting and cultivating a new era of work relationship between them. Individual presentation: prior to the workshop, participants were sent instructions to prepare a presentation on a topic. For example, participants were asked to provide their views of what a “user-friendly library” would look like or what would constitute a “user-friendly library”; the college library of HTC-Mulago was asked to talk about their experience working with book reserves, challenges faced and plans they have to address the challenges, while the college librarian from NTC-Kaliro was asked to describe a situation where they were able to assist a patron, the limitations they faced and how they addressed them. Doing so did not only assist to emotionally prepare the participants for the training but also helped to make them start thinking about the training in relation to their libraries and work. Take-home assignment: at the end of each session, participants were given home assignments to not only revise the training material but also prepare for the next day training. Further the take-home assignments provided time for the participants to discuss with their colleagues outside of the training room so as to have a common ground/ understanding on some of the very sensitive issues. Most interesting assignment was when participants were asked to review an article and to make a presentation in relation to their library experiences. Participant reports: participant reports resulted from the take-home assignments and participants were asked to make submission on a given topic. For example, participants were asked to review IFLA section on library management and write a two-page report on how such information provided supported their own work, as well as a participant report came from their own observation after a library visit. Invited talks with library expert: two invited talks by library experts from Consortium of Uganda University Libraries and Uganda Library and Information Science Association with the goal to share their experience, motivate the participants to strive higher and achieve great things for their libraries. Library visitation: there were two library visits conducted on three separate days – International Hospital Kampala (IHK) Library, Makerere University Library and Aga Khan University Hospital Library. Each of these library visits provided unique opportunities for the participants to explore best practices and implement similar practices in their libraries. Visual aids – videos, building plans and still photos: these were visual learning aids to supplement text during the lectures because they carried lot of information while initiating different thoughts best on the participants’ past experience and expertise. The training advocated for the use of ATL methodologies and likewise similar methodologies were used to encourage participants do so in their classrooms. Findings Addressing Key Concerns: Several measures, both long and short term, were taken to address the gaps limiting the performance of the librarians. The measures taken included: selected representative sample of participants including all college stakeholders as discussed above; active teaching and learning methodologies applied in the training and blended in the content of the training materials; initiated and formulated approaches to collaborations, networks and partnerships; visited different libraries to benchmark library practices and encourage future job shadowing opportunities; and encouraged participants to relate freely, understand and value each other’s work to change their mindsets. College librarians were encouraged to ensure library priorities remain on the agenda through advocacy campaigns. Short-term measures: The UFL training was designed as a practical and hands-on training blended with individual and group tasks, discussions, take-home assignments and presentations by participants. This allowed participates to engage with the material and take responsibility for their own work. Further, the training material was prepared with a view that librarians support the academic life of teaching staff and students. Participants were tasked to develop and later fine-tune materials designed to support their work. For example, developing a subject bibliography and posting it on the library website designed using open source tools such as Google website, Wikis, blogs. The developed library manual includes user-friendly policies and procedures referred to as “dos and don’ts in the library” that promote equitable open access to information; drafting book selection memos; new book arrivals lists; subscribing to open access journals; current awareness services and selective dissemination of information service displays and electronic bulletins. Based on their library needs and semester calendar, participants developed action points and timelines to implement tasks in their libraries at the end of each unit training. Librarians were encouraged to share their experiences through library websites, Facebook page, group e-mail/listserv and Instagram; however, they were challenged with intimate internet access. College libraries were rewarded for their extraordinary job. Given their pivotal role in the management and administration of financial and material resources, on top of librarians, the participants in this training were college administrators/ management, teaching and ICT staff, researchers and student leadership. Participants were selected to address the current and future needs of the college library. These are individuals that are perceived to have a great impact towards furthering the college library agenda. The practical nature of this training warranted conducting the workshops from developed but similar library spaces, for example, Aga Khan University Library and Kampala Capital City, Makerere University Library, International Hospital Kampala Library and Uganda Christian University Library. Participants observed orientation sessions, reference desk management and interviews, collection management practices, preservation and conservation, secretarial bureau management, etc. Long-term measures: Changing the mindset of librarians, college administrators and teaching staff is a long-term commitment which continues to demand for innovative interventions. For example: job shadowing allowed college librarian short-term attachments to Makerere University Library, Uganda Christian University Library, Aga Khan Hospital University Library and International Hospital Kampala Library – these libraries were selected because of their comparable practices and size. The mentorship programme lasted between two-three weeks; on-spot supervision and follow-up visits to assess progress with the action plan by the librarians and college administration and college library committee; ensuring that all library documents – library strategic plan, library manual, library organogram, etc are approved by the College Governing Council and are part of the college wide governing documents; and establishing the library committee with a job description for each member – this has strengthened the library most especially as an advocacy tool, planning and budgeting mechanism, awareness channel for library practices, while bringing the library to the agenda – reemphasizing the library’s agenda. To bridge the widened gap between librarians and the rest of the stakeholders, i.e. teaching staff, ICT staff, college administration and students, a college library committee structure and its mandate were established comprising: Library Committee Chairperson – member of the teaching staff; Library Committee Secretary – College Librarian; Student Representative – must be a member of the student Guild with library work experience; and Representative from each college academic department. A library consortium was formed involving all the four project supported colleges to participate in resource sharing practices, shared work practices like shared cataloguing, information literacy training, reference interview and referral services as well a platform for sharing experiences. A library consortium further demanded for automating library functions to facilitate collaboration and shared work. Plans are in place to install Koha integrated library system that will cultivate a strong working relationship between librarians and students, academic staff, college administration and IT managers. This was achieved by ensuring that librarians innovatively implement library practices and skills acquired from the workshop as well as show their relevance to the academic life of the academic staff. Cultivating relationships takes a great deal of time, thus college librarians were coached on: creating inclusive library committees, timely response to user needs, design library programmes that address user needs, keeping with changing technology to suite changing user needs, seeking customer feedback and collecting user statistics to support their requests, strengthening the library’s financial based by starting a secretarial bureau and conducting user surveys to understand users’ information-seeking behaviour. To improve the awareness of new developments in the library world, college librarians were introduced to library networks at national, regional and international levels, as a result they participated in conferences, workshops, seminars at local, regional and international level. For example, for the first time and with funding from Belgium Technical Cooperation, college librarians attended 81st IFLA World Library and Information Congress in South African in 2015. College libraries are now members of the Consortium of Uganda University Libraries and Uganda Library and Information Science Association and have attended meetings of these two very important library organisations in Uganda’s LIS profession. The college librarians have attended meetings and workshops organized by these two organisations. Originality/value At the end of the three units training, participants were able to develop: a strategic plan for their libraries; an organogram with staffing needs and job description matching staff functions; a Library Committee for each library and with a structure unifying all the four project-support Colleges; a library action plan with due dates including deliverables and responsibilities for implementation; workflow plan and organisation of key sections of the library such as reserved and public spaces; furniture and equipment inventory (assets); a library manual and collection development policy; partnerships with KCCA Library and Consortium of Uganda University Libraries; skills to use Koha ILMS for performing library functions including: cataloguing, circulation, acquisitions, serials management, reporting and statistics; skills in searching library databases and information literacy skills; skills in designing simple and intuitive websites using Google Sites tools; and improved working relationship between the stakeholders was visible. To further the user-friendly libraries principle of putting users in the centre of the library’s operations, support ATL methodologies and activities with emphasis on getting engaged in transforming spaces, services, outreach to users and collections the following initiatives are currently implemented in the colleges: getting approval of all library policy documents by College Governing Council, initiating job shadowing opportunities, conducting on-spot supervision, guide libraries to set up college library committees and their job description, design library websites, develop dissemination sessions for all library policies, incorporate user-friendly language in all library documents, initiate income generation activities for libraries, set terms of reference for library staff and staffing as per college organogram, procurement of library tools like DDC and library of congress subject headings (LCSH), encourage attendance to webinars and space planning for the new libraries.

The study analyzed the Agogo Presbyterian College of Education (1930-1971) and when it was taken over by the Government (1972-2013). This became relevant in the wake of the recent plea by the churches that the Government should hand over Mission Schools to the churches. The study therefore examines the state of management and leadership and infrastructural development both under the regime of the Missionaries and the Government. It also sought to assess academic standard of the students, and the discipline of the College, qualification of the teachers, supervision, and students’ patronage of library and entry grade of students to the College with the view of establishing the progression or retrogression over the period. In doing this, a comparative study was undertaken and data were derived from archival materials of the Agogo Presbyterian College of Education, and direct interviews with past Principals and Administrators of the College. The results revealed that despite an increase in student-intake (210 students in 1942 to 750 students in 2014) with a corresponding increase of teachers (from 5 missionary teachers with lower academic degrees in 1931 to 28 teachers with masters qualifications), inadequate infrastructural development; lack of discipline and competitions among students have characterized APCE since it was managed by the Government as compared to the Missionaries. The study recommends that the Government would complete the construction of the students‟ hall complex, and also put up large auditorium and classroom blocks to accommodate the high students’ intake in the College to enhance education delivery.

Libraries are part of the learning resources that every school and college must have. Because students easily search for information or knowledge through the library. This community service aims to socialize Information Management at the SMA Negeri 7 Binjai Library through the Use of Website-Based Applications. This community service method uses a socialization approach to students, female students, and teachers of SMA Negeri 7 Binjai. The results of this study explain that a library is an organization tasked with collecting information, processing, presenting, and serving the information needs of library users. The existence of this web-based library is very helpful for students, students, and teachers in obtaining information more quickly and helping the work of librarians in managing libraries that will be with tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands, even millions of collections, with services covering the school community (students, education staff, and the wider community), so it needs to be supported by an automation system that is futuristic (has a forward reach), so that it can always maintain excellent service.

China has a large population with disabilities. In China, there may be varieties of barriers for disabled users to access library resources and services. Joint libraries are a new type of libraries constructed by local government and one or more colleges (universities), playing a dual role as both academic library and public library. Therefore, the users of joint libraries include not only college students and teachers, but also other people from all walks of life. Undoubtedly, the resources and services of these joint libraries must be provided for all kinds of users. Since 1997, more than ten joint libraries have been constructed and opened in China. In this article, we first briefly discussed the causes for the barriers to users with disabilities in libraries. Second, taking joint libraries as a case, we focused on the services to remove barriers and to ensure information equity for disabled people. Provision of equal services for disadvantaged groups is an essential indicator of joint libraries. The present article may provide recommendations for the future sustainable development of joint libraries in China and other developing counties.

The study aims to get the information seeking behavior habits of teachers and scholars for use of E-Resources in engineering college libraries of Bangalore region under Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum,Karnataka. The internet and web are constantly influencing the development of scholarly communication work. The teachers and scholars were considered as core group in using the resources to the maximum extent. Ultimately, sufficient computers, adequate facility of internet, audio visual systems,multimedia equipments and e-book readers are considered as tool to access the e-resources at their liberty. The way the developments have taken place in the academic environment particularly in engineering college libraries has changed the Librarian role. This paper will discuss about the facility, technical feasibility and ensures the users opinion about the library staff involvement and co-operation.

In the majority of studies of married women in India who work, economic necessity was cited as the primary motivator. Higher education is one of Kerala's major economies, since the state leads the nation in higher education. Currently, self-supporting college professors face a variety of issues that are widely discussed in the public sphere. They play a crucial role in higher education and so, it's important to keep a focus on their work-life tension. When it comes to managing work and life, self-funding college professors need to be careful. Students, the organization, and the teachers all suffer if the teachers are not in a state of equilibrium. This study explores the work-life balance of self-supporting college professors in terms of stress and stress. For the higher education system, the report has had far implications. An attempt has been made in this study to shed light on the work-life balance concerns of Trivandrum's self-funded professors. Questionnaires were used to collect research data, and statistical methods were used to utilize the data. It was determined that self-financing college teachers have a work-life score that is slightly above average.

Library & Information Science Research, 18(2), 151-163. https://doi.org/10.1016/S0740-8188(96)90017-1 Abstract Objective – To identify the characteristics of college students that are related to their experiences of library anxiety. Design – Survey, analyzed with multiple regression. Setting – Two universities, one in the mid-south and one in the northeastern United States. Subjects – 493 students from those two universities. Methods – The students responded to two questionnaires: the Library Anxiety Scale developed by Bostick (1992), and a Demographic Information Form that included questions about students’ gender, age, native language, academic standing and study habits, library instruction received, and library use. Spearman’s rank correlation was used to identify those demographic characteristics that were correlated with library anxiety. Multiple regression analysis was used to develop a model for predicting library anxiety. Main Results – The study found that age, sex, native language, grade point average, employment status, frequency of library visits, and reasons for using the library contributed significantly to predicting library anxiety. Library anxiety was highest among young male students who did not speak English as their native language, had high levels of academic achievement, were employed while in school, and infrequently visited the library. While the overall regression model was statistically significant and explained 21% of the variability in library anxiety, the individual correlations with library anxiety were generally weak (the strongest was a -0.21 correlation with frequency of library visits). Conclusion – The authors conclude that many students experience library anxiety, and recommend that libraries make every effort to be welcoming. In addition, they recommend that library instruction should be introduced at the high school level and, in college, incorporated into the classes that require library research. In this setting, library anxiety should be addressed during the instruction, and classroom teachers should plan to assist students in the early stages of their research.

The purpose of this study is to determine the pre-service social studies teachers' academic self-efficacy. Research data were obtained from a total of 433 pre-service teachers who studied at the department of social studies at a state university in Ankara in 2013-2014 academic years. In this research involving the use of mixed method, "Academic Self-Efficacy Scale" developed by Jerusalem and Schwarzer (1981) and adapted to Turkish by Yılmaz, Gürçay and Ekici (2007) and "Personal Information Form" and "Academic Self-Efficacy Oriented Opinion Form" developed by researchers were used. It has been concluded on the quantitative dimension of the research that academic self-efficacy of the pre-service teachers shows statistically significant differences in terms of gender variable, and it does not show statistically significant differences in terms of class, daily study time and regular use of the library, reason for choosing social studies teacher education program and the number of books that they read other than textbooks after starting the college. On the qualitative dimension of the research the obtained data supported the pre-service teachers in terms of "feeling competent in the academic sense", "study and exam preparation habits" and "college expectations".

This study examines the state of university libraries in Delhi, using descriptive research and in-depth interviews with seven central universities in the city. The descriptive research included respondents such as teachers, students, and other library users. The findings identify the challenges that library users’ encounter, including the prevalence of existing libraries, traditional facilities and services, and the implementation of new policies. The one-sample t-test results for digital technologies showed P>0.05, indicating that digitization in libraries has an impact.The study's findings clearly indicated that university libraries in NCR Delhi, which are housed within existing college buildings, contain obsolete resources that are randomly arranged, giving students and teachers negative attitudes toward libraries. There are no new collections or proper electronic systems in university libraries, which has created a slew of problems for professors and students who use libraries for study. As a result, the study stresses the value of accepting technical advances that can contribute to greater levels of success

Conducting a research is a compulsory skill to be accomplished by any teacher students of English language teaching (ELT) department in teacher’s college. As a minimum requirement, each teacher-student must have experience to conduct a sophisticated Classroom Action Research (CAR). Within this skill, a teacher-student is expected to grasp various challenges that may occur in learning, therefore to take necessary actions in order to improve the quality of learning. Hence, this paper is composed due to an assumption occurred in a preliminary study that students in English language teaching department have demonstrated numbers of methodologically failures in conducting CARs. This assumption stimulates a question to answer further, “What sorts of methodologically failures are demonstrated by teacher’s college students in conducting CARs?” Researchers as the main instrument in this study develop theoretical criteria form based on prominent works of Susanto (2010), Hult and Lennung (1980), McKernan (1991), Kemmis and McTaggart (1992), Winter’s (1996), andMcNiff (2002) to frame the analysis. Data is taken from selected works stored in a library of a teacher’s college in Nusa Tenggara Barat, by employing two criteria to students’ works (mini-thesis), i.e. year of publication is 2015 and marked with ‘A’ from internal examination board of the college. These criteria constrain only two scripts to be further analyzed. By applying content analysis, this study reveals various kinds of methodological failure in students’ works about CAR, i.e. (1) violation to collaborative principle of CAR, (2) violation to the four characteristics of CAR (situational, participatory, evaluative, and cooperative), (3) the use of learners’ achievement as benchmark of success, (4) developed in quantitative study, (5) failure in positioning the researcher as a teacher or collaborator, and (6) failure in the construction of lesson plans.

Role of academic libraries serve an important role in helping students, teachers, and staff with their academic and research needs. They provide a variety of services and resources to promote learning, teaching, and scholarship, including as access to scholarly databases, e-books, print collections, study spaces, and instructional support. In recent years, college libraries have also expanded their digital collections and services to meet the changing needs of users in the age of digital information. This paper explores how librarians must constantly evaluate and adapt their services to meet the changing demands of their users in order to ensure the success of college libraries. This includes creating user-friendly interfaces for accessing and using library materials, giving personalised guidance and support, and establishing creative programmes to improve the learning experience. As higher education institutions continue to evolve, college libraries will remain a vital resource for supporting academic success and lifelong learning.

The eco-literacy study is relatively recent. E-literacy is the capacity to analyze an ecosystem and take action to preserve or restore it. This method might aid in bottom-up change. Eco literacy aids in the resolution of eco-challenges. Teaching, reading aloud to children, and using fashion as a platform may assist individuals in comprehending eco-concerns. The study is carried out to examine the role of public sector college libraries in eco-literacy; to identify the demographic factors related to eco-literacy and to assess college teachers' and librarians' perception of public sector college libraries' participation in eco-literacy. The current study is descriptive in nature and Cross tabulation chi squares are used to obtain a representative cross-section of the population's views and sentiments on a current issue through a survey. The participants of the study were the academics and librarians of the colleges in Bahawalpur District. Participants in the study also had a more positive perception of libraries' role in fostering a more sustainable society and were likelier to say they would attend sustainability events hosted by a library. The current study led to the need for more empirical research on sustainable libraries and how the public sees libraries' efforts to promote eco-responsibility. However, more research is required to fill a gap in the existing empirical literature.

Charles III arrived in Spain from Naples accompanied by a multidisciplinary team of military advisers, including Count Gazzola from Piacenza, who had already drawn up his plans for the urgent military reforms required for the artillery. These included the institutionalisation of that branch of the army and the foundation of the college for artillery officers and industrial engineers to run the military factories being taken over by the State. The most eye-catching element of this undertaking is the formation of its magnificent Enlightenment scientific library. A study of this library reveals an exceptional collection, the origins of the first books brought to the institution, the way it was organised and the military and scientific topics addressed. But its fundamental contribution can be measured in terms of results: indeed, textbooks were created for the cadets, as well as research works on military, artillery and scientific topics written by teachers from the college, and translations of important European scientific books. Finally, as a contribution to demonstrating the cost-effectiveness of the Crown’s investment in education for war, we highlight the work of three captains, showing the versatility they achieved thanks to their education at the college and their reputation outside it, in the service of society, as guiding lights of the Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País (SEAP – Economic Society of Friends of the Country) in Segovia. Without this magnificent library, the research, monographs and translations – ultimately the college’s own published works which brought it great academic credit in Enlightenment Europe – would not have been possible.

Abstract: The introduction of program evaluation in Quebec’s junior colleges — known as CEGEPs or Collèges d’enseignement général et professionnel — has followed two general principles. Those called to participate in evaluation are asked to specify the objectives of the programs being evaluated. The Quebec college teaching evaluation board, the Commission d’évaluation de l’enseignement collégial (CÉEC), proposes that all who have active roles in the management or teaching of the CEGEP programs should participate in evaluation. The evaluation process should be both results-oriented and participative. Those who should be most involved in the evaluation exercise — the CEGEP teachers — have for the most part refused to participate. This is explained, according to the CÉEC, by the “new and ill-defined nature of the task.” However, the CEGEP teachers are also perceived as being resistant to evaluation, which the CÉEC evaluators hope will change over time. In the evaluation of the Day Care Education Program, for example, the evaluators focused primarily on the objectives of the full-time diploma (DEC) programs rather than on those of the part-time (AEC) programs. As a result, the evaluation failed to identify some of the real problems of the AEC programs. It is argued that a theory-driven approach to evaluation would be more successful in dealing with the AEC programs’ problems. A bottom-up approach would have mobilized more stakeholder involvement than the top-down approach actually employed.

Kinesthetic pedagogy uses physical movement to stimulate learning; recent studies in higher education increasingly reveal the effectiveness of kinesthetic activities (KAs) in college teaching. Accordingly, this paper suggests that academic librarians explore the use of kinesthetic activities in their instruction. Librarians have designed many excellent classroom activities based on other active learning pedagogies that happen to provide opportunities for some student movement. However, few librarians have intentionally incorporated KAs into their instructional design or contextualized their efforts within kinesthetic pedagogy. Nevertheless, some existing teaching methodologies discussed in library literature can offer a starting point for kinesthetic-conscious information literacy (IL) teachers. This article presents librarians with a menu of effective, evidence-based library activities documented in the literature along with practical advice from our trial-and-error experiences to enhance the kinesthetic benefits of these activities and manage student movement in the classroom.

This study examined the challenges faced by student-teachers during teaching practice and their possible solutions in the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Benue state, Nigeria. To achieve this, the descriptive survey research design was adopted. Four Research questions and four Research hypotheses guided the study. The sample of the study was drawn from five degree options out of the eight degree options in the College of Agricultural and science Education in the study area. Primary data were used for the study specifically obtained using well-structured questionnaire. Two hundred copies of the questionnaires were administered on the respondents and survey data analysed using descriptive statistics and Chi-square test. Results of the analyses showed that classroom management significantly affect student-teachers’ performance during teaching practice in secondary schools. The results revealed that curriculum development and instruction significantly affect student-teachers’ during their practice year. The result also revealed that supervision of student-teachers’ does greatly affect students’ teachers during their teachers during their teaching practice. The study recommends that Proper and maximal attention should be given to the classroom management by student-teachers’ in order to achieve the specific objectives at the end of the lesson in the classroom .There is need for the government to provide good library facilities and laboratories. A descriptive study Evaluating the Effectiveness of e-Learning students of the College of Nursing Governorate, 6/1/2021 to 23/6/2021. Face-to-face classes have been canceled and moved online, bringing about the rise of online learning that has allowed learners to continue their education. The sudden transition from face-to-face to online learning has, however, posed numerous challenges for students, teachers, administrators, and education leaders. E- Learning can be viewed as computer assisted learning, and as pedagogy for student centered and collaborative learning. Early developments in e-learning focused on computer assisted learning, where part or all of the learning content is delivered digitally. More recently the pedagogical dimension of e learning has become prominent. E-learning comprises all forms of electronically supported learning and teaching.

Abstract: This research work emphasizes the importance of libraries in the digital age, both before and after pandemics. According to the report, in the post-pandemic age, libraries simply cannot afford to stop fulfilling their official obligation to provide people with information. Through a variety of online and web sources, the libraries gave teachers, students, and researchers access to vital information and knowledge sources during the lockdown. According to the study, the function of libraries is unchanged from the pre-pandemic to the post-pandemic period.

This article discusses the trainee teachers’ curriculum at the Sultan Idris Training College (SITC) since its establishment in 1922 until the outbreak of World War II. In addition, this article also discusses the curriculum's impact on the trainees. The research objective is to examine the curriculum and subjects taught to the trainees in order to teach the teaching knowledge, especially to the Malay community. This research used the qualitative method based on the library sources by focusing on the Annual Report and Memorandum as the primary sources. The research found that the curriculum for the trainees at SITC is such a providing continuity about a better basic life in the village. However, the curriculum was balanced by the academic-based curriculum in the classroom as a preparation for the trainees to become a teacher in the future. Furthermore, the research also found that there was a significant impact between the curriculum and the trainees where it has gone far beyond what the British had planned for the college.

In 1972, teachers and former students of the “Eudoxiu Hurmuzachi” High School in Rădăuți drafted a yearbook of the institution, in order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its existence. The volume, entitled Centenary, is in the library of the National College “Eudoxiu Hurmuzachi” in Rădăuţi. In this volume, originally conceived as a work of monographic character, there are information on the past of the city of Radauti, the history of the former “Eudoxiu Hurmuzachi” High School between 1872 and 1972, the history of the high school library, articles dedicated to some of its personalities (Ernst Rudolf Neubauer, the first director; Emanoil Isopescu) or people who financially supported its establishment (Vasile Marcu), memories about former teachers (Cornel Hahon, Mihail Gușuleac, Eugen Botezat, Ilie Vișan); an excerpt from the novel Gaudeamus by Vasile Țigănescu (former pupil and teacher), the program of scientific papers and communications dedicated to the centenary, the draft of the festive issue of the school magazine “Muguri” from 1972, as well as nominal tables with the teachers of the high school between the two World Wars and with the graduates of various courses and specializations between 1882 and 1971. Among them, there is a text of 28 pages, entitled “The History of the Hospital in Rădăuți”, the period under investigation being approximately between 1818 and 1960. The author of it is unknown; we understand though form the text that he/she was a medical employee of the hospital.

The study determined the efficacy of the Management Program of Columban College, Inc. It employed the descriptive method of research. The respondents of the study were the randomly selected 3rd to 4th-year students who were enrolled with major subjects and faculty members in the Management programs such as Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Major in Management, Bachelor of Science in Tourism, and Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management for the academic year 2008-2009. The student’s per-ceived efficacy and teachers regarding Seminars got a descriptive rating of “Agree” and field trip obtained “Agree” both under co-curricular activities. The perception of the students and faculty members on the efficacy of the Management courses in terms of membership in the organizations has a descriptive rating of “Agree”; for the academic contests obtains “Moderately Agree”; and non-academic competitions garnered a descriptive rating of “Agree”. There is a significant difference Management programs’ perceived usefulness in relation to the non-academic contests, seminars, field trips, and membership in organizations. There is no significant difference in the perceived efficacy of the Management programs with regard to the academic competition, curriculum, labora-tory, library, and facility.

The problem of many unused library materials in a library may be due to the mismatch of the collection with the needs of library users. Some users are not satisfied with the library because the collection or information available in the library does not match what they want. So it is necessary to find out the needs of users so that all collections can be utilized properly by users because it suits their needs. The purpose of this research is to find out the analysis of user needs in the library. This research uses a narrative literature review method from references related to the topic of user needs analysis in libraries with a total of 10 references analyzed. Public libraries, national libraries, school libraries, college libraries, and special libraries will all be included in this study. The characteristics of library users differ depending on their information needs and background. In essence, the public are the main users of the library. People who utilize the library have a wide range of needs, including students, lecturers, teachers, staff, and the general public. User needs analysis activities conducted by libraries are done in various ways such as interviews, observations, case studies, and others. The community acts as the main user of the library. The community will assist the library in every user needs analysis activity. Therefore, the community will also determine the collections that must be in the library according to their respective information needs. This study aimed at evaluating the General Diploma Program from the point view of student teachers of the academic year 2004/2005. The sample consisted of 210 students in different specializations. Data were collected using a questionnaire comprising 44 items subsumed under seven dimensions. The instrument was validated by a panel of experts and its internal consistency was (0.92). The following are the major findings of the study. First, diploma students are convinced of their selection of teaching as a profession. Second, the diploma program positively developed students’ attitudes towards teaching. Third, the program was highly effective in developing student teachers' teaching skills and moderately effective in developing their research and technology skills. Fourth, students reported that they highly benefited from 5 courses; while their benefit from the other courses was moderate. Fifth, there were statistically significant differences in students' views that can be attributed to their majors. Sixth, there were no statistically significant differences in students' views due to their gender. Finally, students were satisfied with their relationship with professors and college administrators; but they were not satisfied with computer and library services.
