Abstract:
A dataset of Stark widths for Tb II, Tb III and Tb IV is presented. To data obtained before, the results of new calculations for 62 Tb III lines from 5d to 6pj(6,j)o, a transition array, have been added. Calculations have been performed by using the simplified modified semiempirical method for temperatures from 5000 to 80,000 K for an electron density of 1017 cm−3. The results were also used to discuss the regularities within multiplets and a supermultiplet.

Full text
Abstract:
There is a need to rapidly screen individuals for heat strain and fever using skin temperature (Tsk) as an index of deep body temperature (Tb). This study’s aim was to assess whether Tsk could serve as an accurate and valid index of Tb during a simulated heatwave. Seven participants maintained a continuous schedule over 9-days, in 3-day parts; pre-/post-HW (25.4 °C), simulated-HW (35.4 °C). Contact thermistors measured Tsk (Tforehead, Tfinger); radio pills measured gastrointestinal temperature (Tgi). Proximal-distal temperature gradients (ΔTforehead–finger) were also measured. Measurements were grouped into ambient conditions: 22, 25, and 35 °C. Tgi and Tforehead only displayed a significant relationship in 22 °C (r: 0.591; p < 0.001) and 25 °C (r: 0.408; p < 0.001) conditions. A linear regression of all conditions identified Tforehead and ΔTforehead–finger as significant predictors of Tgi (r2: 0.588; F: 125.771; p < 0.001), producing a root mean square error of 0.26 °C. Additional residual analysis identified Tforehead to be responsible for a plateau in Tgi prediction above 37 °C. Contact Tforehead was shown to be a statistically suitable indicator of Tgi in non-HW conditions; however, an error of ~1 °C makes this physiologically redundant. The measurement of multiple sites may improve Tb prediction, though it is still physiologically unsuitable, especially at higher ambient temperatures.

Abstract:
Objective: To determine the diagnostic yield of microscopy of endobronchialsecretions collected by bronchoscopy in patients who were suspected to have pulmonary TB but their sputum smearwas negative for AFB with ZN staining. Study Design: Descriptive study. Place and Duration of Study: At MilitaryHospital Rawalpindi from June 2004 to May 2005. Subjects and Methods: Fifty patients were included in the study.Convenience sampling technique of non-probability sampling procedure was used for the selection of patients. Onlythose patients suspected to have pulmonary TB on clinical grounds, raised ESR and X-rays chest showing pulmonaryinfiltrates but sputum smear negative for AFB on a minimum of three examinations were included in the study.Bronchoscopy of these patients was done, endobronchial secretions taken and sent for microscopy for AFB. Results:Out of 50 patients, 16(32%) patients were positive for AFB while 34(68%) were negative on endobronchial secretion’smicroscopy. Conclusion: Microscopy of endobronchial secretions collected by bronchoscopy is a useful technique inthe diagnosis of pulmonary TB in patients who are suspected to have pulmonary TB but their sputum smear is negativefor AFB with ZN staining.

Abstract:
Objective: To determine the risk factors for type of TB category in Multan. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Nishtar Medical College and Hospital,Multan at Chest and Pulmonology Ward to explore the major factors for the type of TB in Multan,Pakistan. We surveyed 164 patients diagnosed for TB from March 2012 to August 2012. The chisquaretest was used to find the responsible factors for type of TB category. The data wereanalyzed by using SPSS 20 software. Results: The mean age of these patients was 40.5,100male and 64 female patients. 68.9% of cat-1 and 31.1% patients of Cat-2, 65.3% patients havingno education, 35.4% patients were of labor profession working in different scenarios, 76.8%patients have their family income less than ten thousands, 67.7% patients belong to the urbanresidence, 65.2% patients have poor sanitary condition of their houses, 63.41% patients weresmoker and 70.1% patients have TB in their families. On the basis of p-value for each factors, wehave found that blood pressure (p=0.0100), already treated (p=0.0000), doctor visited(p=0.0000), smoking habit (p=0.0263) and area (p=0.0020) of patients are statisticallysignificant factors while gender (p=0.7040), Education (p=0.0800), family history (p=0.3090),current ATT period (p=0.7280), weight (p=0.1300), environment (p=0.2590), income level(p=0.3690), profession (p=0.0540) and age (p=0.4130) are the insignificant factors. Conclusions: We have found that blood pressure, already treated, doctor visited, smoking habitand area of patients are the significant factors for type of TB category.

Abstract:
For cell phone users and blind people using non-visual browsers, browsing Web by common browsers is quite inefficient due to the problem of information overload. This paper presents the TB-WPRO (Title-Block based Web Page Re-Organization) method, which hierarchically segments web pages into blocks using visual and layout information reflecting the web designers’ intent. TB-WPRO segments the web pages with a clear goal to extract self-described title blocks. To reorganize web pages, the segmentation result is transformed to a serial of small web pages that could be easily accessed. Compared to current methods, the proposed approach obtains a promising segmentation result where blocks are visually and semantically consistent with original web pages.
