Full textThe Swedish tactical radiosystem (TARAS) has a similar architecture from a technical point of view as the NATOsystem Joint Tactical Information Distribution System/Multifunctional Information Distribution System (JTIDS/MIDS).The prime service offered by JTIDS/MIDS is the tactical datalink Link 16. One purpose with this thesis is to describesimilarities and dissimilarities between the two radio systems from a technical point of view. According to thesesimilarities and dissimilarities this thesis studies whether there is any ability to adapt the TARAS-system toJTIDS/MIDS or not. An adaptation which has the ultimate goal of interoperability between Swedish air and seaforcesand NATO. Another purpose is to use the flagrant similarity between the systems regarding complexity, andconsequently the demand to ensure the efficient and co-ordinated use of data links in any operational theatre cell as abasis for discussion on how a Swedish data link planning and management cell, supporting TARAS, should beorganised. By using a selected nation’s, The United Kingdom’s, data link management cell as a basis for discussion itis examined if any conclusions can be drawn as to how a Swedish data link planning and management cell should beorganised and working in the future. The issues regarding organisational level within the Swedish Armed Forces, majortasks and competency of the crew is examined. The conclusions in the thesis is that there is no interoperabilitybetween the two systems TARAS and JTIDS/MIDS. Consequently, Sweden must leave the TARAS-system and adaptthe JTIDS/MIDS-system if any interoperability at the highest level, between on the human level (brain-to-brain), is tobe achieved. Regarding the data link planning and management cell, the only general conclusion that is possible todraw in the comparison with the U.K. cell is that the Swedish analogue should be organised in a joint way and withinthe framework of the organisation of the Air Component Commander’s organisation. When it comes to tasks andcompetency of the crew, the dissimilar philosophies for using the systems and the use of NCOs, a category thatdoesn’t exists in Sweden, makes further comparisons impossible.

Full textThis study has processed the subject of snow loads and collapsing roofs and is written as a cooperative examination paper for the built environment programme by Edwin Häggkvist and Jacob Lahti who are students at Luleå Tekniska Universitet. Snow loads and collapsing roof are a yearly recurring subject and problem, yet no significant changes seem to occur to apprehend this. We have through a literature study studied different roofing constructions, different roof inclines, what the insurance companies are saying, if snow is the biggest factor or if something else in the building process is behind the collapsing roofs. We have established that the projecting stage is responsible for a lot of the problems, the underlying problems to this is that no real calculation standard or standardized program for calculations for how to calculate the snow loads in combination with wind, and with this a majority of the roofs wrongly dimensioned when not enough consideration is given to the uneven loads. Roofing constructions are modernized and changed over time, just as the amount of snow varies and changes over time, we have compared certain newer and older roofing construction methods. We have been able to study one certain case in person, which is a quite long carport construction that collapsed this winter locally here in Luleå. There we were able to take pictures, discuss the construction and its eventual faults.

Full textDepression is common worldwide and medical students are a vulnerable group and during the medical education mental illness increases. The ability for psychological flexibility, including diffusion, acceptance, Self-as-context, flexible contact with the present, values and appropriate action, has been shown to be associated with ill health. Training for Awareness, Resilience and Action (TARA) has been created in the United States as a method of treating depression in group in adolescents. In 2018, TARA was offered to a group of medical students in Umeå and this qualitative study included semi-structured interviews with five of these students about their experiences of TARA and what methods they are using. The interviews were conducted two years after their participation in TARA. The participants attended the second and forth semester of their education when TARA occurred. The age of the participants was 21-32 years at the time of the interview. A thematic analysis was used to analyze the material from the interviews. The results showed that the participants felt that they were given several different tools to use to manage their mental illness. Mainly breathing exercises and paying attention to what was happening within them was described as the most important. The participants' descriptions of their experiences show that they practiced their ability for defusion, acceptance, flexible contact with the present, values and appropriate action during TARA. Descriptions of Self-as-context couldn’t be found in the material. The design of the study, qualitative interviews, and the selection of participants have reduced the possibility of generalization. However, the result can be understood as that TARA can help to increase the experience of psychological flexibility, which in the long run can reduce the symptoms of depression.

The organizations must be more competitive in order to take a place in present economics market, which implies to be immerse under constant changes, since it is not enough to have the capacity to generate products (goods and/or services), but a long time clients are more demanding, which forces to offer a great product variability, the fast satisfaction of their demands, costs reduction, etc.; giving more importance to the relying on organization of the working time (OTT), as a very useful tool to adapt to those constant changes of the markets.
The allocation of tasks (AT) is part of the OTT, considering that the AT begins from a previous knowledge of the amount of capacity that is arranged at every moment of time and the demand in the different tasks. In order to begin using the AT certain there must be guidelines to follow, which are originated by: economic, ergonomic and social aspects, systems of work, legal conditioners, priorities of the organization, necessities of the personnel, etc. The AT is specifically in charge to assign tasks to the personnel throughout a determined horizon of allocation, with previous knowledge of the demand of tasks and the personnel available in each of the time intervals at which the allocation horizon is divided.
The objective of this thesis is centered in the development and validation of a methodology for the allocation of tasks with multifunctional personnel and multiple criteria. The proposed methodology deals not only with the assignment problem, it also deals with the problems of reassignment (i.e. generating a new task for the conditions that were not initially considered) and concatenation (when we need to do the task considering a previous file of allocation of tasks).
The multicriteria model is introduced by means of mathematical programming, specifically making use of the mixed integer linear programming, considering a wide range of characteristics and different criteria of evaluation, based on: the economic factor, the preferences of the personnel and the tasks. In the evaluation function, the weighted functions method is applied to find the optimal allocation and in addition for two of its criteria the application of the goal programming, in its approach of weighted goal programming.
In order to carry out the evaluation of the proposed methodology, it is included the experimentation of a real case and a hypothetical case, taking them as included in a representative sample that allows us to obtain a general vision of the diversity of existing situations and from the results that can be obtained. The model has been solved using ILOG-OPL-STUDIO version 3,7 (libraries of ILOG-CPLEX 9,0).
As a conclusion we can indicate that the proposed methodology constitutes a tool that aids the use of flexibility labor, since it contributes to the organizations they are able to distribute the personnel in different tasks according to their necessities and the characteristics of the personnel which have. In addition it was demonstrated that the proposed procedure is efficient to solve the problems of allocation of tasks (or the reassignment and concatenation), as well as it can be adapted according to the priorities and necessities.
