Wenz, Kupfer Diego.

As usual in dissertation's projects that belongs to PUCRS's creative writting area, this also has two volumes. The first is the novel Fuma?a vermelho hematoma, narrated in a dystopic reality where the consume and the business lobby rules government and people at the point that art is considered crime and treated as police case, transforming artists from diferent areas into criminals - for consequence of that, they turns into terrorists. The second volume is a journal about the creation of the novel, with the title O tapa que dei em mim mesmo, and brings the way of how the story was inspired, planned and written, including the effects on the autor, motivated by the study's about neoliberalism business arrangements and it's effect in society. One paper is the consequence of the other and vice versa, because the goal of write about the theory of the narrative bring closer the critic thinking, not only about the ficcional side, but also political.
Thorp, Kathryn. "Looking at dance through the Te Whare Tapa Wha model of health." Master's thesis, University of Cape Town, 2011. http://hdl.handle.net/11427/12295.
Full textThis dissertation uses Mason Durie's Te Whare Tapa Wha (the house of four sides) model of health to examine the benefits of participating in dance. Durie's (1994) model is widely used and taught throughout Aotearoa New Zealand as a guide for discussions and practices involving total health and wellbeing. The four sides of the house are: taha wairua, the spiritual aspect of health; taha whānau, social aspect; taha hinengaro, mental and emotional aspect; and taha tinana, the physical aspect; each of which will be applied to circumstances, situations, and phenomena found in dance. Each aspect of health, although they stand alone in their own right, is interconnected with, and relies on the other. Dance is a place to explore, understand, and come to know oneself and others in each aspect of health; as dance is a holistically healthy activity which empowers an individual in life, as it reflects and amplifies issues, perceptions, and ideas, and is a place to explore those issues. Dance enhances the sense of spirituality and connection to one's self, others, and the environment. This occurs through muscular bonding, use of the shared breath, and the feeling of connectedness between people when honouring and embodying one's ancestors and history through movement. The dance community can also be a surrogate family, through developing how one builds and maintains relationships by building rapport, caring for others, and creating a sense of belonging within the group. Dance improves the ability to think through the body, and is a site for physically maintaining and improving the body.

Full textLuigi Pirandello has distinguished himself through the innovation in his theater scripts. In addition to writing plays, he created his own theater group where he was the director. Under criticism and applause, his work has reverberated internationally, including the Brazilian Theater. Pirandellos plays are still present in the contemporary scene of Brazilian performing arts, with the works of the theater company Grupo TAPA standing out. There is a problem concerning the scarcity of Pirandellos theater scripts that are translated and available at the Brazilian publishing market; in addition, such translated texts are seldom proper for scene work. Within such context, Grupo TAPA translated the play O di uno o di nessuno in order to present it afterwards. Thus this research will study the traits of the theatrical translation and then compare the original text, the Grupo TAPAs translation and the literary translation done by Davi Pessoa.

Museum collections are a prized source of information about the past. In particular, collections of plants and animals, as well as ethnographic objects of biological origin have recently undergone genetic analysis, allowing the direct reconstruction of certain aspects of the past. Unlike the genetic analysis of contemporary samples that only allow to propose a hypothesis about the past, the analyses of old samples allow access to information without the bias or alterations provoked by later historical events. Ancient DNA studies have allowed reconstructing the migration routes of the first human groups that left Africa. The last great human migratory movement to uninhabited areas of the planet, culminating in the settlement of the islands of Remote Oceania, ended only about a thousand years ago, when humans colonized the islands of Hawaii, Rapa Nui and New Zealand. This process was complex, and there is no consensus on the routes followed by pre-polynesian navigators. The reconstruction of human routes to reach the remote islands of the Pacific Ocean has been approached through various strategies. One of these is the "commensal approach," which consists of the genetic study of animal and plant species closely associated with humans and that were intentionally transported to the islands of Remote Oceania. The study of these species allows to suggest migratory routes taken by these species and the people that transported them, complementing existing archaeological and linguistic information. Among the plant species transported into the Pacific is paper mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera), a species native to South and continental Asia, as well as Taiwan. This multifunctional dioecious tree species was introduced to the Pacific because of its great cultural value as a source of fiber for the production of textiles, known as bark-cloth or tapa. Bark cloth textiles, being a symbol of wealth and power, were kept in families for a long time, and therefore can provide genetic information on the genetic diversity of the B. papyrifera poplation used to manufacture these textiles. These samples may even provide information on paper mulberry in Oceania that precedes even the first contacts with Europeans. Barkcloth may also provide a window to the past on times prior to the taking of the first herbarium samples by European explorers. Bark cloth was of interest to Europeans who collected or received them as gifts, and later these became part of various museum collections around the world
