Abstract:
Valeriana jatamansi Jones, commonly known as Tagar, belongs to the Caprifoliaceae family and is valued for its medicinal properties. This research aims to assess the impact of specific plant growth regulators on different explants obtained from natural and in-vitro cultivated plants. Leaves and nodal explants from both sources were utilized, treated with 2,4-D, NAA, and BAP, and monitored for 30 days. Results indicate widespread callus formation among various explant types. Particularly intriguing is the robust response of in-vitro cultivated explants, in contrast to those from naturally grown plants. Nodal explants exhibited a remarkable tendency for producing multiple shoots, especially in a medium enriched with 20 µM BAP, highlighting BAP's efficacy in promoting shoot regeneration in controlled settings. This study underscores the potential of tissue culture for establishing effective protocols to conserve this medicinal plant, offering insights into sustainable and responsible utilization for informed conservation strategies.

Abstract:
Family always was among the most important human values. Family subject became essential part of the ethnolinguistic researches. Child birth, wedding, death and funeral is the cycle of life, particularly tightly related to traditional culture. Description of family rituals and traditions highlights family relationships which is the basis of this paper. Kinship subject constantly found in stories about ethnic religiosity, rites of folk medicine, myths and legends. In her article I. A. Sedakova has noted that “any discussion on the topic of kinship has sufficiently relevant data for complex linguistic research” (Sedakova, 2009, 226).The comprehension of family and its values are reflected in a completely different way in Lithuanian Tatar manuscripts written in Slavic languages and Arabic characters. Emigrants from Golden Horde and Crimean khanate were the one of the first muslims to settle in Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 14th century. Three most important events in human life: birth, wedding, death and accompanying rites used by Lithuanian Tatars are different from the ones used by local residents. In general Lithuanian Tatar rites have common Muslim roots, even though they have traces of shamanism and perceptible influence from Christianity. One can talk about religious syncretism when the various teachings of faith and cult rites are combined in the interplay of religions and their historical development. In this article we try to reveal the whole network of connections and relationships that contain the concepts of family and family values, based on texts written in Lithuanian Tatar manuscripts in Slavic languages (Ruthenian and Polish).

Abstract:
Tighva Monastery was founded by Queen Consort Tamar, the daughter of David the Builder, a famous Georgian king who succeeded in uniting the country and making it a dominant regional power. According to the written sources, Tamar was married to Shah Manuchehr III, the Muslim ruler of Shirvan (modern Azerbaijan) around 1111, in order to “rule over Shirvan”. Tamar lived and reigned in the Muslim court for more than twenty years. Resulting from a need to secure a retirement home and final resting place, she initiated the construction of Tighva Monastery soon after her return to Georgia in the 1140s. As her husband Manuchehr died in 1160, it seems that Tamar left Shirvan still a married woman, for unknown reasons. Tamar cut ties with her family and spent the remainder of her life as a nun in Tighva. The Church of the Crucifixion in Tighva Monastery, which represents the main focus of this paper, gives a good example of how the place occupied by women during the Divine Liturgy not only indicated their social status, but also determined their visibility, demonstrating how architecture could be used to establish the limits of physical appearance of royal women in the twelfth century Georgian monastic space.

Abstract:
Kendari Bay is directly adjacent to the Kendari City area, so that it receives a lot of pressure mainly from community activities. This pressure causes the declining of mangrove forest area every year. Reproductive phenology of mangroves can be used in planning, collecting seeds, and seeding propagules for rehabilitation of degraded mangrove forest area. The aims of this research were to know the morphological characteristics of mangrove reprodutive organs and mangrove reproductive phenology of Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Ceriops tagal, Rhizophora apiculata, and Rhizophora mucronata in Kendari Bay. The method using in this research was observation method that conducted directly in the field. Morphology and phenology of mangrove reproduction divided into 6 phases, i.e. flower bud, blooming flower, ovary, fruit, young propagule and mature propagule. The data was analysed descriptively. According to the result, the morphological characteristics of 4 mangrove species were different. Flower of B. gymnorrhiza was single, whereas flowers of C. tagal, R. apiculata and R. mucronata were inflorescences. Ovary of B. gymnorrhiza was hemi inferous, whereas ovaries of C. tagal, R. apiculata and R. mucronata were superous. R. mucronata had the largest propagule compared to other mangroves observed. The timing of mangrove reproductive phenology also showed different result. B. gymnorrhiza required 299 days to develop from flower bud to mature propagule and R. apiculata required 262 days, whereas C. tagal and R. mucronata had not been able known its phenological period because the timing data from ovary to fruit had not been obtained. Further research is needed to resolve this issue.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: Tagara is a very popular Ayurveda herb used in the treatment insomnia, epilepsy, neurosis, hepatoprotective, anticancerous, and analgesic. Characteristic smell is the typical feature of it. As per the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India and many other classical texts, rhizomes of Valeriana jatamansi of the family Valerianceae is the accepted source of the drug. From some of the reports from early 1980s, it was found that roots of some aquatic plants such as Nymphoides macrospermum, Nymphoides hydrophylla, Nymphoides indica, and Limnanthemum cristatum were said to be used as Tagara instead of V. jatamansi in the South Indian markets. Aim: This study proposed to assess the present status of Tagara available in herbal raw drug markets of Kerala. Materials and methods: Five market samples of Tagara were collected from selected markets of Kerala, and some of the reported aquatic plants, collected from natural habitats nearby. Macroscopic, microscopic, histochemical, and powder microscopic characterization of all these samples were done as per the standard procedure mentioned in Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India and characters observed were compared with official source plant and pharmacopoeial standard. Results: Morphological characters of market samples of Tagara collected from the various markets of Kerala were not matching with the rhizomes of genuine drug V. jatamansi and that of Uttarakhand sample. The microscopic and histochemical examination also gave the same result. However, these samples showed similarities with the roots of Nymphoides macrospermam. Sample collected from Uttarakhand was the rhizome of V. jatamansi. Conclusion: The collected market samples of Tagara from various Kerala markets were not the rhizomes of V. jatamansi but the roots of N. macrospermam.

Abstract:
Mangroves are plants known for their various medicinal and economical values, and therefore are widely investigated for their phytochemical, antioxidant, antidiarrheal, and antimicrobial activities. In the present study, we analyze the antioxidant and anticorrosive properties of Ceriops tagal (C. tagal), a tropical and subtropical mangrove plant of the Rhizophoraceae family. The total phenolic content (TPC) and total flavonoid content (TFC) were found to be 101.52 and 35.71 mg/g, respectively. The extract (100 µg/mL) exhibited 83.88, 85, and 87% antioxidant property against 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), nitric oxide, and hydrogen peroxide free radicals. In addition, 600 ppm of C. tagal extract showed 95% corrosion inhibition against 1 M HCl attack on mild steel at 303 ± 1 K, which declined over other concentrations and temperatures, where AAS produced 82% inhibition at 600 ppm. UV-visible spectroscopy analysis revealed the formation of an inhibitor metal complex. The elemental analysis provided the presence of 84.21, 9.01, and 6.37% of Fe, O, and C, respectively, in inhibited mild steel, whereas the same were 71.54, 22.1, and 4.34%, respectively, in uninhibited specimen, stressing the presence of protective film on the metal surface. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) also showed some noteworthy changes in both uninhibited and inhibited mild steel, making C. tagal plant a better alternative than any other synthetic inhibitors. Further, the atomic force microscopy (AFM) surface topography analysis showed that 600 ppm of C. tagal extract significantly diminished corrosion on the surface of mild steel.

Abstract:
Abstract The relationship of the Judah-Tamar story in Genesis 38 to the so-called Joseph story in Genesis 37-50 has been much discussed. In this article, I am attempting to suggest a new perspective on the structure of Genesis 38. Through a narrative approach, I argue that this chapter can be understood according to Binary Thematic-Symmetrical Patterns and posit what I call the Bucket-Shaped Structure of the Judah-Tamar Story. The story consists of two main episodes (Episode I, vv. 1-19; Episode II, vv. 20-30), which are divided into six smaller sections (vv. 1-5, 6-11, 12-19, 20-23, 24-26, 27-30). It presents two leading characters: Judah and Tamar. Together they experience three common themes; these are, building up a family, shame and deceit. To the reader, the first theme looks positive (+), but the second and the third appear negative (-). In both Episode I and Episode II, the character of Judah enters early in the scenes (vv. 1-5, 20-23) and Tamar’s character occupies the ends of the episodes (vv. 12-19, 27-30). The narrator presents Tamar’s shame in section two (vv. 6-11) and her deceit in section three (vv. 12-19). Judah’s character is also shown in the same way (deceit, vv. 20-23, shame, vv. 24-26). These two episodes can be read as reflecting a dialectic process and could be represented as: Thesis (Episode I) + Antithesis (Episode II) = Synthesis (Establishing a Family). This symmetrical structure in the story of Genesis 38 highlights the significance of childbirth to both Judah and Tamar for securing the next generation within the larger Primary Narrative (Genesis—2 Kings).

Abstract:
Sarah, Rebekah, Leah, and Rachel are termed the “Matriarchs.” In contrast to these women, Bilhah, Zilpah, Tamar, and Aseneth/Asenath are the “Secondary Matriarchs.” They are “foreign wives.” Bilhah and Zilpah are Arameans and the mothers of the eponymous ancestors of the tribes of Dan, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. Canaanite Tamar bears Judah’s son Perez, who becomes the link to the Judah tribal line. The Egyptian Aseneth, Joseph’s wife, bears the eponymous ancestors of the tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim. The “foreignness” of these Secondary Matriarchs is not noteworthy in Genesis. Years later, however, Ezra/Nehemiah promote endogamy and reject foreign wives/exogamy. A similar pro-endogamy/anti-exogamy view is found in the Maccabean and Herodian times, although sometimes conversion – voluntary or forced – is another strategy. It is difficult to understand the growth of the Jewish people however defined or calculated – from the period of Ezra/Nehemiah to the destruction of the Second Temple – without these conversions. In the pseudepigraphic writings of the late and then postbiblical Second Temple period, as well as in rabbinic literature, the ethnic origins of the Secondary Matriarchs becomes an issue; consequently they become co-opted into the “Abrahamic” family – they are shown to be Jews. This article begins with a wide variety of examples in the Pseudepigrapha and rabbinic writings (Talmud, midrash) to address how the Secondary Matriarchs are understood to be ethnically “family” and not “foreigners.” It then analyzes the issue of endogamy/exogamy in Ezra/Nehemiah, as well as in the Maccabean-Herodian and rabbinic periods, as an explanation for the creation of the “additional biographies” of Bilhah, Zilpah, Tamar, and Aseneth.

Abstract:
The article presents fragments of autobiographies and memoirs of the 1960s, written by activists of the Tatar women's movement of the revolutionary years. Koyash Valitova (born in 1898), Zukhra Baimbetova (1899), Bylbyl Ilyasova (1898), Bibikhatyma Alaberdina (1901), Zeinab Bashirova (1903) worked in schools or were planning to become teachers before the revolution of 1917; during Soviet times, these women were involved in the propaganda and political work. An analysis of fragments of ego-documents showed that Soviet autobiographies of Tatar women have an element of “fight”, clashes with various forces (in the family, society). Intra-family conflicts were a characteristic feature of the ego-documents of Tatar female teachers. Moreover, Soviet representations kept silent about some features of pre-revolutionary Tatar everyday life and emphasized the cultural backwardness of Muslims. A comprehensive analysis allowed us to highlight individual details of pre-revolutionary life and refute the established stereotypes. The author concludes that the use of these documents in scientific research is possible only as a supplement to less biased sources of other types.

Abstract:
The article systematizes information about the contribution of the Tatar writer Naki Isanbet to the development of Tatar handwritten literary journals. It is revealed that the writer published literary, satirical handwritten magazines during his studies at the madrasah ‟Khasaniya” (Ufa, 1909–1913), ‟Mukhammadiya” (Kazan, 1913–1916). A favorable environment for his work was created in the writer’s family. The magazines were published without the participation of the teachers of the madrasah ‟Khasaniya”. The administration of ‟Muhammadiyah” persecuted N. Isanbet for publishing a ‟literary, satirical and political magazine”. Shakird’s first journalistic experience in the Kazan madrasah pointed to the independence of his creative thought, contributed to the flourishing of his writing talent. In 1920, N. Isanbet published his works and translations in the handwritten literary journals of his like-minded friends in Ufa and Moscow, which allowed him to overcome regional limits in his work. In his pedagogical practice, N. Isanbet used handwritten editions to develop. In his pedagogical practice, N. Isanbet used handwritten publications to develop the abilities of creatively gifted schoolchildren, as one of the elements of socialization. N. Isanbet was not only the initiator of the release of classroom and school-wide handwritten journals at school and university, but also performed the duties of their editor with pleasure. The article analyzes the author’s student publications of N. Isanbet: the thematic range of materials is outlined, artistic features are revealed. It is proved that the writer used handwritten journals to form an autobiographical myth. With the development of N. Isanbet’s literary talent, the texts in his student publications get rid of imitation, obsessive didacticism, the ontological, love theme comes to replace the socio-accusatory theme. The collection of folklore leaves its imprint on the early work of the writer. N. Isanbet in handwritten journals always speaks on his own behalf or implies himself as an observer. The published materials indicate that the author was characterized by a romantic attitude.

Abstract:
Cooperation between school and home is one of the cornerstones in school policies in Sweden, as well as internationally. During the last decades, questions of parental influence and the freedom to choose schools have come to the fore. The importance of well-functioning cooperation between school and home, aiming to support school performance and improve the pupils’ results, is another issue which has been stressed in policy, as well as in research. When implementing a major change, such as developing bilingual education, it is important to have the support and cooperation of the parents. In this paper the views of parents of pupils who received bilingual education in Arabic and Swedish are presented. Data was collected in questionnaires. In addition to information concerning the educational and linguistic background of the family, the parents gave their views on bilingual education in general, and on the bilingual education their children received, in particular. The parents appreciated the bilingual education and emphasized the importance of both mother tongue and Swedish for their children. They regarded bilingualism as an asset and wanted their children to become bilingual and bicultural.

Abstract:
They were representatives of the Tatar intelligentsia, born in the 1880-90s. The pre-revolutionary world with the unique urban everyday life of the early 20th century was already lost, but it occupied a central place in the Tatar memoirs of that period. Memoirs and other records of a native of the city of Troitsk, Orenburg province, teacher Habib Zaini (1890-1967) also continue this trend. In his notes, he wrote about his native city of Troitsk and its inhabitants. In the article, we analyze the materials that the author donated to the Lobachevsky Scientific Library of Kazan University in 1967 and notebooks with memories from his family archive. “Family” and “public” memoirs differed in the style of presentation, in the second version the author used formulaic expressions and famous names more often. These ego-documents allowed us to identify several dominants of the “pre-revolutionary world” of Habib Zaini: family ties, the mahalla (Muslim community) and hometown, the clash of traditions and innovations at the turn of the 19-20th centuries. Ego-documents include two layers - the mythologized world of the 1870-80s and the childhood world of the hero of the 1890s, which are united by the place of action and actors. The author of the memoirs received a special education in his family, one of his results is the creation of such a text.

Abstract:
This article deals with a linguistic and ethnographic analysis of the kinship and ritual terminology of the Tomsk Tatars. The Tomsk Tatars are the indigenous population of the Tomsk Ob region, which formed ethnolinguistic groups before the arrival of the Russian-speaking population. The Tomsk Tatars include Kalmaks, Eushtins, and Chats, the latter two groups being grouped in a subdialect – Eushta-Chat. The number of Tomsk Tatars in their traditional places of residence is about 3 thousand people. The article analyzes the data documented during the ethnolinguistic expeditions 2009–2019: Tomsk-Tatar terms divided into lexical-semantic groups in terms of ethnographic classification of family rites (maternity, marriage, burial) and description of family genealogy (terms of kinship). In the course of fieldwork, ethnic stories were recorded, and genealogical schemes were created to identify the family composition and determine family ties within the group and family ties between neighboring villages (responses to family ritual terminology were recorded in both Tatar and Russian). The vocabulary studied refers mainly to the Eushta-Chat subdialect (if so, there is no indication of its origin); if data on the Kalmak subdialect is available, information on their origin is provided. In addition, dialect data from published articles by A. P. Dulzon and R. K. Urazmanova are also given. When it is possible to determine the composition of word forms, a morphological marker is given, a literal translation is also provided, and lexical parallels with the literary Tatar language are copied from open lexicographic sources. The general conclusion of the article is that in the modern kinship and ritual terminology of the Tomsk-Tatar subdialects, there prevail units identical to the literary equivalents, often in a different phonetic form according to the laws of alternation of Turkic phonemes. A number of units do not find parallels with the literary Tatar language, and there are also vocabularies with unclear etymology. Most examples of genealogical terms are direct translations of descriptive terminology from Russian.

This article gives a brief overview of the narratives used by Estonian Tatars, describing their religiousidentity and changes in the Estonian Muslim community during the past few decades. TheTatars are the founders of the Estonian Islamic Congregation in Tallinn, an organization which hasbeen the main representative of Islamic faith in Estonia for more than half a century. Recently theTatars and the congregation are being challenged by newcomers with other views on Islam. Forinstance, the “Tatar way” of defining religious identity within a family context differs from theway in which Estonian converts and more recent Muslim immigrants see their own religiosity. Thechanges in the Estonian Muslim community and the Estonian Islamic Congregation have influencedthe Tatars in several ways, especially their religious and cultural self-concept. Examples aregiven of how Tatars evaluate and come to terms with the differences and the challenges.

This essay examines Kishwar Desai’s Origins of Love (2012) in order to foreground how the novel is complexly reflective of the biomedical technologies strategically deployed by medical practitioners and prospective parents for the purpose of reinforcing caste-based bionormative notion of family that artificial reproductive technology is assumed to have problematised. The essay also demonstrates how the use of bioenhancement facilities has led to the revival of neoliberal eugenics enmeshed with state-led biopolitics. The essay draws on the concept of renaturalisation discussed by Tamar Sharon in order to examine how the schizophrenic or deterritorialising potential of reproductive technology is reconfigured and domesticated by the medicolegal practitioners in order to reterritorialise the normative structures of kinship and family formation within a capitalist consumerist culture.

Abstract:
The preservation of the cultural diversity of the modern world depends on the presence of national consciousness among children and youth. The purpose of this research is to study the processes of enculturation and the potential of family education and the activities of the diaspora in the formation of national identity among representatives of the younger generations. Particular importance in the study of the processes of enculturation is given to tradition, structured environment, hierarchy in the organization of the educational process in the diaspora. The results of the study of these issues gave objective reasons to believe that the effectiveness of preserving national culture and self-identity among representatives of the Tatar people in a global world is determined by the traditions of raising children and depends on taking into account regional specifics and opportunities in the countries of compact residence of Tatars outside the historical homeland. In this regard, the study of aspects of the continuity of traditions in the diaspora (enculturation) proves that the continuity of educational traditions has become a reliable means of the versatile development of children and the preservation of the national identity of the people, regardless of the differences in culture, religion, language of the ethnic groups of the countries of residence. The solution of the problem is seen through rising of an educational and intellectual potential of the nation, creating a special linguistic and cultural environment, structuring the social space traditional for the Tatar people, and increasing the educational role of the family and traditions.

Abstract:
The article analyses the views of a prominent representative of the Tatar emigration, teacher, journalist, and public figure Rukiya Mukhammadish on the Tatar woman and her role in the fate of the people. The work is accompanied by a publication written by Rukiya Mukhammadish in the newspaper “Milli Bayraq”, which was published in Mukden, Manchuria in 1935–1945. The publication made a considerable contribution to the enlightenment and the cultivation of national identity among the Tatars in the Far East. The presented source is dedicated to highlighting the role of the Tatar woman in the national education, life and history of the people in various periods of its existence. In the article “Woman in the Life of Our Nation”, R. Mukhammadish sets a goal to show the place of women in the family, in the life of the people and the state, and gives examples from various historical sources. According to the author, the position of women in the Turkic society was quite free; they were distinguished by their courage, determination and participated in solving not only family but also state-related issues. Women of the Golden Horde participated in the government affairs; in the Kazan Khanate, they ruled the country. The upbringing of mothers and Abystays helped to preserve Islam, their native language, and folk traditions. Thus, women fulfilled their responsibilities not only to their family, but also to the people and the country. The purpose of the presented article is to raise the national self-awareness (“milli barlyk”) of Tatar emigrants and disseminate historical knowledge among them. The relevance of documents of this nature lies in the fact that they are valuable sources for studying the life and features of the development of social and pedagogical thought of the Mukhadzhir Tatars.

Abstract:
The problem of women’s emancipation is one of the key issues of Tatar culture at the beginning of the XX century. The question was constantly discussed on the pages of the press. The main authors were men. But how did their public views correlate with their everyday experiences? The article analyzes the private life of Tatar cultural figures of the early XX century (Rizaetdin Fakhretdin, Fatih Karimi, Hadi Atlasi, Fazil Tuikin) in the context of the “women’s issue”: the role of mothers in their development, family relationships, influence on sisters, features of raising daughters, etc. The research is based on diverse sources, including materials of personal origin – letters and memories. The author comes to the conclusion that there are two trends in the attitudes of these figures: the first – the education of a Tatar woman was considered a necessity for family life and child rearing; the second – female emancipation and development were considered an important condition for a woman’s independence in everyday life. Both directions were the result of the social experience of the authors.

Abstract:
Cytosine methylation of developmentally regulated genes of the sea urchin Strongylocentrotus purpuratus was studied by using restriction-endonuclease digestion and Southern blotting. The single-copy bindin gene, the family of five cytoplasmic actin genes and the 400-fold-repeated set of five early histone genes were mostly unmethylated, but some sites exhibited partial methylation that varied throughout development. This shows that in echinoderms the methylation of DNA is not confined to the non-transcribed portion of the genome, as previously believed [Bird, Tagart & Smith (1979) Cell 17, 889-901], and may play a role in transcriptional regulation.

Abstract:
In this article, the author discusses a new social group within the Tatar secular intelligentsia - the female teachers ( mugallima s) of the national primary schools. The study is based on personal documents, in particular memories and autobiographies. At the turn of the 20th century, the issue of female education became particularly important in Tatar society. The author shows the transformation of the role of the ostazbika - the imam’s wife who traditionally used to teach the girls of the Muslim community - and presents an overview of the first Tatar girl schools. Pointing out the sources of the formation of mugallima as a separate social group, the author also identifies an intermediate variant of this social group. Furthermore, attention is paid to the problem of advanced training of the mugallima, the legal regulation of Tatar female teachers’ activities, and to their official duties as well as their material conditions. The author studied the mugallima’s position in the Muslim society in relation to the gender role of an average woman, considering the everyday behavior of the mugallima, the mugallima’s image in Tatar literature as well as the way different social groups perceived this profession. The author concludes that in Tatar society the professional status of the mugallima was legalized only during World War I, and the social perception of the mugallima remained ambivalent. While traditional Muslim society continued to disapprove of independent women, the national intelligentsia supported a positive image of the mugallima. However, the issue of combining pedagogical work and family remained open. Tatar feminists of the revolutionary epoch considered the work of the mugallima as an alternative to family life and put the interests of the nation before their private life.

Abstract:
The archetype of the mother reflects the mythical ideas coming from antiquity, the conditions of social life, the philosophy and worldview of the nation. This article examines the cases of the embodiment of the mother archetype in Tatar prose as an image preserving national identity and self-identification, and for this purpose separate works of prose are considered, starting from ancient literature and up to the modern era. In Tatar-Muslim literature, a special respect for the mother has ancient roots. The awakening of national consciousness at the beginning of the 20th century increased attention to the image of the mother in Tatar realistic prose. The author of the article refers to G. Iskhaki's story «Ostazbike», G. Ibragimov's novel «Young Hearts» and shows that in pre-revolutionary literature, the integrity of the spirit and faith were placed above physical existence in the works of writers. The October Revolution destroyed the way of life of the national family: there were changes in the image of the mother woman in literature. The mother began to be portrayed not as the keeper of family values passed down from generation to generation, but as a participant in the construction of a new society, leading social activities. Having studied the works of A. Eniki «The Unspoken Testament», A. Bayanov «The Tale of the Highlands», Z. Hakim «The Song of the Mother» in the article, the author comes to the following conclusion: the archetype of the mother in most cases appears in close connection with national issues and is often used as the most important image for preserving the essence of the nation. From the image of a particular person, a woman, it grows to a national symbol. And in the relationship between mother and son, especially in the motive of the son's search for his mother and in the motive of the meeting, the search and finding of the meaning of life by a person is reflected. Consequently, the elevation of the mother's image to the status of an archetype by Tatar writers is done to strengthen national self-awareness.

Abstract:
The current article aims at unifying ornithonyms of a particular family presented in different ways in various lexicographic sources. To achieve this goal, a review of the dictionaries of interest was carried out, their data were compared and analyzed, and a new terminology was proposed, corresponding to the most recent classification of taxa. According to the system we developed, the names of the genera of birds of the Sandgrouse family are reduced to two lexemes - саҗа (saja) and болдырык (boldyryk). To designate certain types, names were specified with words denoting a relevant feature of a particular type. In addition, the article discusses the etiology of terms, their distribution and meanings in various languages. Erroneous etymologies are also indicated. The research results might be useful in compiling new dictionaries of the Tatar language, as well as biology coursebooks in the Tatar language.

Abstract:
Moroccan literature has been growing since the 1950s, when Morocco was still under French occupation. The big themes that commonly appear in Moroccan literature are the issues of colonialism and racism. One Moroccan writer whose work speaks a lot about racism is Tahar Ben Jelloun. This article aims to analyze one of Ben Jelloun's works entitled Le Racisme expliquée à ma fille. The essay discusses a father and his 10-year-old daughter about racism and what makes people became racist. In the essay, some words are in bold, and these words are mostly phenomena or social events related to the dark history of world civilization due to racism. This study used a qualitative method by using Genette's focalization theory and opposition theory by Greimas markers. The analysis results show that the concept of racism in this essay is conveyed through the father's focalization even though the essay's form is a question and answer between the father and daughter. The selection of forms of dialogue with father and daughter figures can be seen as a narrative strategy to convey the implicit meaning to combat racism. Anti-racism education in the family is Tahar Ben Jelloun's reflection on solutions to racism in the world.

Abstract:
The article deals with a narrow, yet important from the linguistic point of view aspect of the language biographies of representatives of the Mari Diaspora in the Moscow region — the issue of language contacts that the respondents in the sampling or senior members of their family used to maintain in the past with Tatars, and, accordingly, the Mari-Tatar bilingualism and Mari-Tatar-Russian trilingualism that existed among them. Basing herself on the testimonies and recollections of the respondents in the sampling, the author examines the prerequisites for these types of language contacts, on the one hand, and on the other hand, studies the causes that led to the extinction of Mari-Tatar language interactions and the gradual washing out of the Tatar component from the language biographies of Mari people. Among the extralinguistic factors that contributed to the development and maintenance of these language contacts, the following ones were identified: historical and geographical (the alternating location of Mari and Tatar villages or one common village); economic (close trade and economic relations between Mari and Tatars, common labor activities on a collective farm in the Soviet period); cultural (joint cultural and leisure activities). Despite the fact that Tatar was hardly ever used by Mari people outside their day-to-day communication, it performed a number of functions, though: communicative, symbolic, emotional, and that of a secret language. A possible reason for the decline of the language contacts was, according to the data obtained, the weakening of trade and economic ties: the gradual replacement of horse-drawn transport by automobile; poor welfare in rural areas in the 1990s and, as a result, the outflow of population to city areas, the collapse of collective farms and the extinction of a great number of villages. Mari-Tatar language contacts that developed at school (at various stages of school education) or in intra-family communication were equally considered in the paper.
