Abstract:
Abstract This essay discusses short-circuited trans care by focusing on failures of t4t as an ethos both interpersonally and within particular trans scenes. The author begins by recounting an experience working at a bar/restaurant that appealed to its identity as a caring trans community space as part of its exploitation of trans workers. This dynamic inspires the main argument, that t4t can become an ethos of scenes and institutions beyond the interpersonal while short-circuiting practices of trans care. Short-circuited trans care is then traced to t4t by drawing from Hil Malatino's work on trans care and t4t, Kai Cheng Thom's work on community dynamics, and trans literature to argue that practices of t4t often include abuse, expulsion, and assumptive care. This short-circuited trans care is linked to trans scenes by discussing the ethos of t4t in the history of Topside Press and trans cultural production. The author does not condemn t4t and to this effect offers a critique of tethering trans cultural production to prestige instead of care. Rather, the goal of this essay is to openly discuss aspects of t4t and trans care that are often obscured through the projection of a highly questionable “we” or universalized “trans community.”

Abstract:
A Gram-staining-negative bacterium, strain TS-T4T, was isolated from Tuosu Lake, a saline lake (salinity 5.4 %, w/w) in Qaidam basin, Qinghai, China. Its taxonomic position was determined by using a polyphasic approach. Cells of strain TS-T4T were non-spore-forming rods, 0.4–0.8 µm wide and 1.7–2.3 µm long, and motile by means of a single polar flagellum. Strain TS-T4T was strictly heterotrophic, aerobic and catalase- and oxidase-positive. Growth was observed in the presence of 0–7.0 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 3.0–4.0 %) and at 4–40 °C (optimum, 30–35 °C) and pH 7.0–10.5 (optimum, pH 8.5–9.0). Strain TS-T4T contained Q-8 as the sole respiratory quinone and phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylglycerol as the major polar lipids, as for other members of the genus Rheinheimera . The predominant fatty acids (>10 %) were summed feature 3 (C16 : 1ω7c and/or C16 : 1ω6c), C16 : 0, C17 : 1ω8c and C18 : 1ω7c. The DNA G+C content was 50.2 mol% (T m). Phylogenetic trees based on sequences of the 16S rRNA gene and a conserved portion of the gyrase B gene (gyrB) showed that strain TS-T4T was associated with the genus Rheinheimera ; the strain showed the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity to Rheinheimera longhuensis LH2-2T (97.1 %) and then to Rheinheimera pacifica KMM 1406T (97.0 %). DNA–DNA relatedness of strain TS-T4T with R. longhuensis LH2-2T and R. pacifica NBRC 103167 was 53±2.5 and 48±2 %, respectively. Based on the data presented, it is concluded that TS-T4T represents a novel species of the genus Rheinheimera , for which the name Rheinheimera tuosuensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is TS-T4T ( = CGMCC 1.12461T = JCM 19264T).

Abstract:
A novel species, Methylocella tundrae, is proposed for three methanotrophic strains (T4T, TCh1 and TY1) isolated from acidic Sphagnum tundra peatlands. These strains are aerobic, Gram-negative, non-motile, dinitrogen-fixing rods that possess a soluble methane monooxygenase and utilize the serine pathway for carbon assimilation. Strains T4T, TCh1 and TY1 are moderately acidophilic organisms capable of growth between pH 4·2 and 7·5 (optimum 5·5–6·0) and between 5 and 30 °C (optimum 15 °C). The major phospholipid fatty acid is 18 : 1ω7c. The DNA G+C content of strain T4T is 63·3 mol%. The three strains possess almost identical 16S rRNA gene sequences and are most closely related to two previously identified species of Methylocella, Methylocella palustris (97 % similarity) and Methylocella silvestris (97·5 % similarity). DNA–DNA hybridization values of strain T4T with Methylocella palustris KT and Methylocella silvestris BL2T were respectively 27 and 36 %. Thus, the tundra strains represent a novel species, for which the name Methylocella tundrae sp. nov. is proposed. Strain T4T (=DSM 15673T=NCIMB 13949T) is the type strain.

Abstract:
Purpose Twitter provides an ideal channel for a non-profit organisation (NPO) to add value to its corporate partners by providing the ability to send tweets to its own network of followers. This research aims to examine the extent to which one NPO used Twitter for this purpose and discuss the implications. Design/methodology/approach The research examined tweets sent by a large US-based charitable organisation, Toys for Tots (T4T), across two Christmas periods. All tweets that mentioned or retweeted T4T’s corporate partners were analysed. Findings The findings show surprisingly limited mentions of partners by T4T, with many never mentioned, and markedly fewer mentions of partners in the second period. Separate analysis of partner tweets retweeted by T4T revealed that none was modified to add value for T4T and/or for the partner, and many were unrelated to T4T, raising a risk of alienating T4T’s followers. Research limitations/implications Only one NPO was examined, and the study focused on Twitter, with limited analysis of T4T’s Facebook posts. However, the relatively low, decreasing and largely indirect promotion of partners in T4T’s tweets suggests a lack of strategic use of Twitter by T4T. Practical implications Coupled with other research, the results show the need for this and other NPOs to more effectively use Twitter to reinforce partnerships with corporate partners. Originality/value The results demonstrate the failure of a major US charity to use Twitter to add value for its corporate partners. Even in the unlikely event that this NPO is an isolated case, the results show the need for NPOs and their corporate partners to work together to provide reciprocal benefits.

Abstract This essay considers Monica Roberts's long-standing blog, TransGriot, as a model of T4t love-politics. Drawing from Jennifer Nash's work on Black feminism, the author argues that TransGriot centers interpersonal and intra- and intercommunal relationships as driving forces of social and systemic change. This approach to t4t enabled Roberts to center trans voices, trans needs, and trans thriving while also demanding accountability from all communities that intersect with the lives of Black trans women. What emerges is an understanding of justice as built and sustained by the difficult work of relating—of making ourselves vulnerable to, and bearing witness to, one another.

Abstract:
A Gram-staining-negative, aerobic to microaerophilic, rod-shaped, red-coloured bacterium, strain T4T, was isolated from a freshwater pipe on Tenerife island. A polyphasic taxonomic study was performed in order to characterize the strain in detail. The isolate is surrounded by a slime capsule, occurs singly, in the form of short chains, or in aggregates, and exhibits catalase and oxidase activities. Growth was observed at 15–42 °C. Optimum growth occurred at pH 8 with mono- and disaccharides, followed by polysaccharides and deoxysaccharides, but the bacterium utilized only a restricted spectrum of alcohols, alditols, amides, amines, carboxylic acids and amino acids. Strain T4T tolerated concentrations of 0–4 % (w/v) NaCl and contained MK-7 as predominant isoprenoid quinone as well as carotenoids, but lacked pigments of the flexirubin type. The predominant fatty acids were iso-C15 : 0 (32.2 %), summed feature 3 (C16 : 1ω6c and/or C16 : 1ω7c; 22.5 %), and iso-C17 : 0 3-OH (7.9 %). Major polar lipids were phosphatidylethanolamine, phospholipids, aminophospholipids and other lipids of unknown character. The DNA G+C content was approximately 41.8 mol%. The sequence of the 16S-rRNA gene assigned strain T4T to the CFB group, forming a coherent cluster with species of the genus Algoriphagus with the highest similarity of 98.8 % to Algoriphagus aquatilis A8-7T. DNA–DNA hybridization revealed 37.5 % relatedness to strain A8-7T. Based on morphological, physiological and molecular properties as well as on phylogenetic distinctiveness, strain T4T should be placed into the genus Algoriphagus as a novel species, for which the name Algoriphagus aquaeductus sp. nov. (type strain T4T = DSM 19759T = LMG 24398T = NCIMB 14399T) is proposed.

Abstract:
Abstract: Contemporary discourse around t4t (trans for trans) relationships involves speculation about bodies in transition. What do such relationships signify toward the bodies of compulsory heterosexuality, not just today, but in the historical record? In the case of the Middle English lai tradition, a t4t framework assists a postmodern audience in uncovering instances not only of gendered affects relative to the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries but also of the affect economies that facilitate (or negate) gender affirmations. Romances such as Thomas Chestre’s Sir Launfal (a translation of a twelfth-century lai of Marie de France) exhibit romantic, platonic, and (the potentiality of) sexual relationships from which a semblance of t4t dynamics is constructively reassembled. Looking at some of the poem’s central characters and their relationships’ dynamics, both from Sir Launfal and from the larger “Lanval” tradition, provides a means from which t4t can be understood as a framework—one that measures not only affect between transgender individuals but also social systems like gift economies within the text that bear resemblance to contemporary mutual aid networks in transgender communities today. Instances of camp and parody within the romance genre historically are also observed in this paper. The gift economies in Sir Launfal and their gender affirmations propel the narrative’s resolution to demonstrate how they scaffold the genre of romance within the Middle English lai. This is an inquiry into exploring what focusing a distinctly trans lens can do when looking.

Chattha, Jawwad Nasar. "Characterization of Selfish Behavior in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks through Virtual Emulation." Thesis, Virginia Tech, 2009. http://hdl.handle.net/10919/34666.

Full text
Abstract:
Unlike infrastructure-based networks, mobile ad hoc networks consist of nodes independent of any infrastructure. Cooperation among these nodes is essential for the sustenance of multi hop communication. However, battery and bandwidth constraints may lead nodes in an ad hoc network to adopt energy- and bandwidth-conserving strategies. As routing and packet forwarding are end results of cooperation, network performance is affected when nodes in the network behave selfishly to conserve their resources.

Our work involves characterizing selfish behavior by nodes in ad hoc networks and assessing the effectiveness of adopting tit for tat based strategies, which are meant to discourage selfish behavior in the network. We show that in an ad hoc network where other nodes act selfishly to conserve their resources, a node can benefit by adopting a generous tit for tat strategy. We also show that a node can gain benefit by avoiding selfish nodes in an ad hoc network, adopting a strategy that we call generous tit for tat with selfish avoidance (GTFT-SA).

To analyze the effectiveness of cooperation strategies in selfish ad hoc networks we create an emulation environment based on virtualization. Such an emulation environment is more flexible to changes and is simpler to replicate than real life testbeds, while providing higher fidelity than simulations.

Abstract:
In Axelrod's tournaments of the Prisoner's Dilemma, carried out in the 1980s, a strategy called Tit for Tat was declared the winner, and it has since then been thought of as the strategy to use to do as well as possible in different situations. In this thesis, we investigate whether Tit for Tat will still do as well if we change the game to the Hawk-Dove Game. This is done by comparing Tit for Tat to other strategies -- All C, All D, Joss and Random -- one at a time. First we analyse under which conditions each strategy will be an Evolutionary Stable Strategy, then if it is possible for a population of these two strategies to end up in a stable polymorphism, and finally, if we have a finite population instead of an infinite one, under which conditions selection will favour the fixation of each of the strategies. This leads to the conclusion that how well Tit for Tat will do depends a lot on the different conditions on the game, but in general, the more times that a pair of individuals will meet, and the higher the value of the resource is compared to the cost of fighting, the better Tit for Tat will do.

Abstract:
Background Transgender individuals face numerous health disparities and report negative experiences with health care providers related to their gender identity. Significant gaps in medical education regarding transgender health persist despite calls for increased sexual and gender minority content. The purpose of this student‐led study was to assess the effectiveness of a half‐day educational intervention on first‐ and second‐year medical students’ attitudes and knowledge of transgender health. Methods Students and faculty members collaborated to develop an educational session on transgender health. This content was presented to first‐ and second‐year medical students at Integrated Grand Rounds, a pedagogical method in which basic science and clinical faculty members co‐present didactic content interspersed between live patient interviews and student‐led small group discussions. Student participants (n = 138) completed voluntary 9‐item pre‐ and post‐session surveys assessing comfort with and knowledge of transgender medicine. Results Students’ comfort with and perceived knowledge about transgender patients increased significantly between pre‐ and post‐test. Students’ knowledge of transgender medicine standards of care also improved, though not all items reached significance. Discussion A half‐day educational intervention improved many facets of medical students’ attitudes and knowledge about transgender patients. The significant disparities in physical health, mental health and access to care currently experienced by transgender persons in the United States warrants the continued testing and refinement of educational interventions for future and practising providers.

PATRIZI, LODOVICO. "La chirurgia mininvasiva dell’incontinenza urinaria da sforzo femminile sintomatica: studio randomizzato TVT (transvaginal tape) vs. TOT (transobturator tape)." Doctoral thesis, Università degli Studi di Roma "Tor Vergata", 2008. http://hdl.handle.net/2108/450.

Full text
Abstract:
Objective: The aim of our study was to compare tension-free vaginal (TVT) vs. trans-obturator tape (TOT) technique on a double blind randomised trial to evaluate cure rates, complications, overall satisfaction rates and after stratification according to symptoms severity. Methods: We recruited all patients affected by symptomatic SUI grade 1 and 2 and Q tip test > I. Exclusion criteria consisted in patients with SUI grade 3, Q tip test =1, urge incontinence, associated prolapses, neurovegetative disorders, previous surgery for SUI or under rehabilitative or medical therapies. SUI grade of severity was recorded as well as clinical data. Patients were randomized to receive TOT or TVT and results assessed at one month and one year. Results: We analysed 104 women. Significant differences were found between TOT and TVT groups regarding the operating times, number of catheterization days, postoperative pain (all greater for TVT; p<0.05). Although postoperative complications, recurrences and reoperations were similar among techniques, patients’ satisfaction rates at one month and one year were significant different when analysed according to the severity of SUI: SUI 1 patients appreciated more the TOT operation and SUI 2 patients more the TVT (p<0.001). Conclusions: The choice of TOT vs. TVT is not completely similar. According to satisfaction rates, TOT could be more indicated in SUI 1 and TVT in SUI 2. Although recurrences or bladder obstructions rates are not different among techniques, they can influence patients’ satisfaction and could be avoided with accurate and proper indications according to the SUI severity.

Abstract:
Antibiotic resistance is an ongoing global medical crisis and we are in great need of new antibacterial agents to combat rapidly emerging resistant pathogens. Tigecycline is one of few drugs that have been introduced into medicine during the last two decades. It is a broad-spectrum third generation tetracycline that is active against multidrug-resistant bacteria that cause complicated infections. In this thesis I examined the development of tigecycline resistance in Escherichia coli and associated in vitro and in vivo fitness effects. Selections of spontaneous E. coli mutants revealed relatively high accumulation rates of changes in the multidrug efflux system AcrAB-TolC regulation network and in heptose biosynthesis and transport pathways important for lipopolysaccharide (LPS) synthesis. Both groups of mutations led to reduced susceptibility to tigecycline and slower growth compared to the wild-type bacteria. Additional in vitro fitness assays and in vivo competitions showed that LPS mutants were less fit than efflux mutants, providing a possible explanation for why up-regulation of multidrug efflux pumps is the main tigecycline resistance mechanism reported in clinical isolates. Tigecycline was designed to evade the two most common tetracycline resistance mechanisms conferred by Tet proteins, efflux and ribosomal protection. However, tigecycline is a substrate for the tetracycline modifying enzyme Tet(X). Screening of Tet protein mutant libraries showed that it is possible to select Tet mutants with minimal inhibitory concentrations of tigecycline that reach clinically relevant levels. Mutations in Tet proteins that permitted a better protection from tigecycline frequently exhibited reduced activity against earlier generations of tetracyclines, except for the Tet(X) enzyme mutants, which were better at inactivating all tested tetracyclines. This is particularly worrisome because different variants of Tet(X) have recently spread to multidrug-resistant pathogens through horizontal gene transfer. Therefore, Tet(X) mutants with improved activity threaten the medical future of tetracyclines. Multidrug resistance is easily disseminated through horizontally spreading conjugative plasmids. pUUH239.2 is an example of a successful conjugative plasmid that caused the first clonal outbreak of extended spectrum β-lactamase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae in Scandinavia. This plasmid was formed after rearrangements between two different plasmid backbones and it carries resistance genes to multiple antibiotic classes, heavy metals, and detergents.

Abstract:
The correlative relationship of growth rate constant, environmental variables and life history traits was studied in the nestlings of the great tit, the willow tit, the crested tit and the blue tit in the Oulu area of northern Finland in 1969, 1977–1981 and 2017. All the species reached their species specific asymptotic weights by the age of 13–14 days. The asymptotic weight of the great tit was relatively lower than the adult weight compared with the other parids studied. The mortality rate of the nestling great tits was higher than of the crested and willow tits in 2017. Large intial brood size pose an negative imapct on the great tit mass growth. It is possiblely related to the high energy maintainence from the parents and unpredictable weather reduces food supply. The high number of hatchlings seems to be related to increasing nestling mortality in the great tit. After the brood reduction, parents can better nourish the rest of the nestlings which leads to a positive association between the number of fledged chicks and the growth rate constant. We did not find any significant relationship between the ambient temperature and growth rate constant in any of the species. It can be associated with the method of collecting the temperature data. However, the amount of rainfall during the nestling period was positively related to the wing growth rate constant in great tits. The late hatched willow tit nestlings grew faster than the early nestlings. There was a trade-off for the timing of breeding in the willow tit. The early nestling might be able to prepare themselves into breeding population while the late nestling might receive better nourishment from their parents. Besides, the brood size at hatching were markedly related to the growth rate constant in the willow tit. This possibly reflects the female quality and habitat quality in the Oulu area. The growth rate constant of different species was related to the body size, clutch size, and species specific breeding strategies.

Abstract:
Recently, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) indicated lack of competition and single-bid contracts in asphalt paving as a major issue facing state transportation departments. Single-bid contracts indicate a lack of competition which increases costs to state and local governments. During the period from 2005-2007 in Kentucky, 42 percent of all bids were awarded with only one firm bidding on the project. Of the asphalt paving jobs, 63 percent of those jobs were awarded to a single bidder. The analysis of this dissertation focuses on detecting tacit collusion in asphalt paving jobs in Kentucky. A focal point enables firms to coordinate bids and engage in a tit-for-tat strategy where they refuse to bid in each other’s counties. In this case the focal point is the county boundaries. Two factors contribute to the ability of firms to use county boundaries to coordinate bids. The first factor is that the political county boundaries form relatively small counties which allow a firm’s service area to cover multiple counties. The firms are able to claim counties and service the projects in those counties. The second factor is that a majority of asphalt projects which the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet puts up for bidding are exclusive to a specific county. This allows firms to know whether a project falls in a county within their bidding territory. Each county and firm in each of the 12 Kentucky Transportation Cabinet geographic districts was analyzed to see if there was evidence of bid coordination. The result is that in 94 out of 120 counties there was evidence of bid coordination or tacit collusion with increases in bid levels. There is evidence that 25 of the 31 Kentucky asphalt paving firms refuse to bid against their rivals in their rival’s territories. This refusal by firms to bid against each other resulted in single-bid contracts that were $70,595,466.09 above the competitive level.

Abstract:
This thesis is a descriptive grammar of Tat (an Iranian language of the South-Western branch) as spoken on the Absheron Peninsula, east of Baku in the Republic of Azerbaijan. It is the first description of a Muslim variety of Tat in a Western European language. After a detailed introduction outlining the sociolinguistic context and the phonology, the present study discusses the parts of speech, the marking of grammatical relations and verbal morphology of Absheron Tat (verbal derivation, verb classes, complex predicates, formation and use of inflected verb forms). This is followed by a survey of complex sentences, viz. relative clauses, complement clauses, adverbial subordinates as well as coordination. The present work adopts a typological point of view and is based on the analysis of texts originating from the author’s fieldwork and tales translated from Azeri into Tat, in addition to the author’s competence as a native speaker. The appendix presents samples of the text corpus (some of them also translated) and a glossary listing items that feature in the grammatical description and the texts

Abstract:
A software tool named “T4T” (Tools for Turbomachinery) has been developed for the parametric design of turbomachinery and wind turbine blades. The complete design procedure is object-oriented and parametric, providing the ability to the user to define various types of blades. It has been developed in QT C++, utilizing OpenCascade graphical and computational libraries. The software allows the user to design the outer surface either by specifying some physical parameters for each blade section, or by directly interpolating a surface through a cloud of points. The new/enhanced version of “T4T” software tool, introducing the definition of internal blade structure for wind turbines rotors, is fully parametric and customizable, allowing the user for defining the internal blade structure, including shear webs. The computational procedure finally produces compound solids, which can be further imported to mesh generation and analysis software through standard geometry exchange protocols, for cooperation with CFD and CSD solvers.

Abstract:
The detection limit of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) and ammonium nitrate (AN) in mixtures of Ottawa sand (OS) was studied using a Raman microscope applying conventional calibration curves, Pearson correlation coefficients, and two-sample t-tests. By constructing calibration curves, the conventionally defined detection limits were estimated to be 1.9 ± 0.4% by mass in OS and 1.9 ± 0.3% by mass in OS for TNT and AN. Both TNT and AN were detectable in concentrations as low as 1% by mass when Pearson correlation coefficients were used to compare averaged spectra to a library containing spectra from a range of soil types. AN was detectable in concentrations as low as 1% by mass when a test sample of spectra was compared to the same library using two-sample t-tests. TNT was not detectable at a concentration of 1% by mass when using two-sample t-tests.

Paynter, Robin A., Celia Fiordalisi, Elizabeth Stoeger, Eileen Erinoff, Robin Featherstone, Christiane Voisin, and Gaelen P. Adam. A Prospective Comparison of Evidence Synthesis Search Strategies Developed With and Without Text-Mining Tools. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), March 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.23970/ahrqepcmethodsprospectivecomparison.

Full text
Abstract:
Background: In an era of explosive growth in biomedical evidence, improving systematic review (SR) search processes is increasingly critical. Text-mining tools (TMTs) are a potentially powerful resource to improve and streamline search strategy development. Two types of TMTs are especially of interest to searchers: word frequency (useful for identifying most used keyword terms, e.g., PubReminer) and clustering (visualizing common themes, e.g., Carrot2). Objectives: The objectives of this study were to compare the benefits and trade-offs of searches with and without the use of TMTs for evidence synthesis products in real world settings. Specific questions included: (1) Do TMTs decrease the time spent developing search strategies? (2) How do TMTs affect the sensitivity and yield of searches? (3) Do TMTs identify groups of records that can be safely excluded in the search evaluation step? (4) Does the complexity of a systematic review topic affect TMT performance? In addition to quantitative data, we collected librarians' comments on their experiences using TMTs to explore when and how these new tools may be useful in systematic review search¬¬ creation. Methods: In this prospective comparative study, we included seven SR projects, and classified them into simple or complex topics. The project librarian used conventional “usual practice” (UP) methods to create the MEDLINE search strategy, while a paired TMT librarian simultaneously and independently created a search strategy using a variety of TMTs. TMT librarians could choose one or more freely available TMTs per category from a pre-selected list in each of three categories: (1) keyword/phrase tools: AntConc, PubReMiner; (2) subject term tools: MeSH on Demand, PubReMiner, Yale MeSH Analyzer; and (3) strategy evaluation tools: Carrot2, VOSviewer. We collected results from both MEDLINE searches (with and without TMTs), coded every citation’s origin (UP or TMT respectively), deduplicated them, and then sent the citation library to the review team for screening. When the draft report was submitted, we used the final list of included citations to calculate the sensitivity, precision, and number-needed-to-read for each search (with and without TMTs). Separately, we tracked the time spent on various aspects of search creation by each librarian. Simple and complex topics were analyzed separately to provide insight into whether TMTs could be more useful for one type of topic or another. Results: Across all reviews, UP searches seemed to perform better than TMT, but because of the small sample size, none of these differences was statistically significant. UP searches were slightly more sensitive (92% [95% confidence intervals (CI) 85–99%]) than TMT searches (84.9% [95% CI 74.4–95.4%]). The mean number-needed-to-read was 83 (SD 34) for UP and 90 (SD 68) for TMT. Keyword and subject term development using TMTs generally took less time than those developed using UP alone. The average total time was 12 hours (SD 8) to create a complete search strategy by UP librarians, and 5 hours (SD 2) for the TMT librarians. TMTs neither affected search evaluation time nor improved identification of exclusion concepts (irrelevant records) that can be safely removed from the search set. Conclusion: Across all reviews but one, TMT searches were less sensitive than UP searches. For simple SR topics (i.e., single indication–single drug), TMT searches were slightly less sensitive, but reduced time spent in search design. For complex SR topics (e.g., multicomponent interventions), TMT searches were less sensitive than UP searches; nevertheless, in complex reviews, they identified unique eligible citations not found by the UP searches. TMT searches also reduced time spent in search strategy development. For all evidence synthesis types, TMT searches may be more efficient in reviews where comprehensiveness is not paramount, or as an adjunct to UP for evidence syntheses, because they can identify unique includable citations. If TMTs were easier to learn and use, their utility would be increased.
