Abstract:
The selected issues of system engineering methodology in the design of transport systems have been presented. The discussed methodological issues were presented in the example of the metropolitan railway concept project. The system description of the transport project is introduced in accordance with the principles used in systems engineering. The presented case study concerns the methodology of designing the concept of the railway transport system. In the proposed case study, the main issue was the development of a document called the Concept of the Metropolitan Railway System (CoMRS) in the urban area of the Metropolis called in Poland GZM. It was assumed that this document would be a system document developed with the use of Systems Engineering methods in order to build, implement and develop a modern complex railway transport system covering the urban area of the GZM Metropolis. Therefore, in the first place, an additional but essential document was developed – the Methodology for the Metropolitan Railway System Concept (MoCoMRS), which contains a comprehensive methodological description of how to proceed with the use of Systems Engineering methods required for the development of the CoMRS. The methodological guidelines relating to the V model were presented in detail. The methodology description also took into account the system life cycle model in the perspective of the enterprise and systems engineering using the V model. When applying systems engineering in the design of transport systems, it is proposed to use this model, which organizes the system procedure during the design process. The guidelines regarding the use of this model and the application of systems engineering methods for CoMRS, relating, inter alia, to the following design stages: system assumptions, system requirements, high-level design, detailed design, were formulated. The case study of the concept of metropolitan railway presented in this paper is based on a real transport project, and the current stage is working on the preliminary feasibility study of this railway system. It is very important, because it is possible to verify and iteratively correct and update the methodology of designing this railway system depending on the changing conditions and criteria resulting from, among others, different stakeholder aspirations that shape the system requirements. This procedure was also included in the V model in phases of development, construction and implementation of the system, as well as in phases of integration, verification and validation of elements and the entire railway system.

Abstract:
In France, the railway lines are divided into the national and international lines. While the former has a proper implementation of the railway signalling systems as relay-based or computer-based systems, the latter follows the guidelines defined by the ERTMS standards, focusing on the interoperability throughout Europe. In a previous work we presented how the national legacy relay-based Railway Interlocking Systems (RIS) can evolve to use a computer-based technology in order to benefit from its advantages. In this present article, we present how these computer-based systems can be used in order to allow the evolution from a national line towards an ERTMS compliant international line. This proposition is based on the fact that the previous work provides the support for evolving the track-side technologies with, for instance, the use of GNSS for the train geo-localisation instead of electrical circuits-based train detection systems. Then, a discussion of the impact of this evolution over the system safety is presented.

Abstract:
Metamodeling is becaming an important part of information systems development. When metamodeling we are working with metamodel which define the syntax and the semantics of models. There are a lot of standards for definition of metamodel e.g. COMMA, GOPRR, MOF. Metamodeling is used for defining and creating of new methodologies, their implementation into CASE and metaCASE tools. Metamodeling is used for manipulation of data and metadata and for optimalization of information’s system design with utilization of generic models. The aims of this article are: to discusse fundamental concepts of metamodeling, demonstrate some theoretically and practically important meta-metamodels and to position metamodeling principles in the development of information systems.

Abstract:
Globalization processes define the modern trends in world economic development, including both international financial markets and the banking systems of different countries. The study aims to evaluate the efficiency of the banking systems of Ukraine and 17 European countries in order to choose the appropriate measures, concerning its increasing. The Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was chosen as a tool for evaluating the efficiency of the banking systems; the calculations were made using the Banxia Frontier Analyst software. Also, the BBC and CCR models of linear programming were used to define the existing relationship between the studied indicators. As a result of the study, the groups of efficient and inefficient banking systems were identified, which allowed determining the existing reserves, possible managerial tools and decisions for improving the inefficient banking systems’ performance. Besides, graphical interpretation of the current position (rank) of certain country bank system in relation to other countries’ banking systems was presented. The developed approach is aimed at improving bank management at the macro level and enhancing the efficiency of banking systems.

Abstract:
In the conditions of intensification of world globalization processes the role of international tourism in the system of international economic relations grows. Such activities provide an opportunity to intensify the socio-economic processes of development of developing countries and affect the growth of their competitiveness. In an environment where the service sector is becoming dominant, tourism plays a key role in international society, as it contributes to sustainable economic development, employment and poverty reduction, resource management, exchange of mental values, and mutual understanding between peoples. Therefore, special attention is paid to socio-economic transformations in developing countries, the search for new forms of international tourism in order to form a developed market for international tourism services. The experience of different countries shows that the success of tourism development directly depends on how the industry is perceived at the state level, to what extent it is provided by state support. The potential of tourism in many countries allows to attract significant funds to the state budget, increase the income of related sectors of the economy, promote employment, improve the state of tourism infrastructure. Various organizational systems for tourism management are now in place, from independent or related ministries to national administrations directly subordinate to the government. In addition, some countries in the world regulate tourism activities only at the level of regional government, others – do not have government leverage over tourism. The tourism policy of the countries, regardless of the chosen model of state regulation, is aimed at strengthening the tourism economy and increasing the economic efficiency of this sector of the national economic complex. And the final positive result of such a policy largely depends on the effectiveness of management decisions and the interest of the authorities in their further implementation for the sustainable development of the tourism sector.

Abstract:
The term “diagnostics” is normally used to refer to the process of identifying some incorrectly operating components in a particular system. The fault symptoms are, however, usually discovered in a different part of the system than that in which the fault occurs. On those occasions when it is not possible to identify the source of the fault based on the principle of absolute logic, it is necessary to apply a formal procedure. This contribution presents a new methodology, by the means of an application systems approach, for diagnostics of management and organisational systems.

This experiment was carried out to compare morphological egg quality parameters, as well as lipid and protein profiles, of brown eggs laid by chickens reared under different production systems: cage, free-range, and family type. A total of 270 brown eggs were obtained from commercial poultry companies raising Lohmann Brown laying hens in a cage system and free-range unit as well as families possessing hens in their yards. The egg lipid and protein contents, as well as lipid and protein profile, varied among the production systems. However, eggs from the free-range system had similar characteristics to those from the cage system. Quality of eggs from the family type system was quite variable. In conclusion, egg quality can be affected by the production system.

Abstract:
The solar 11-year activity cycle is a famous manifestation of magnetic activity of celestial bodies. The physical nature of the solar cycle is believed to be large-scale magnetic field excitation in the form of a wave of a quasi-stationary magnetic field propagating from middle solar latitudes to the solar equator. The power spectrum of solar magnetic activity recorded in sunspot data and underlying solar dynamo action contains quite a stable oscillation known as the 11-year cycle as well as the continuous component and some additional weak peaks. We consider a low-order model for the solar dynamo. We show that in some range of governing parameters this model can reproduce spectra with pronounced dominating frequency and wide spectral peaks in the low-frequency region. The spectra obtained are qualitatively similar to the observed solar activity spectrum.

Abstract:

The Internet of things (IoT) has been used for many applications. These applications are accomplished by numerous sensors that detect and share information. When people use the detected information in an IoT system to improve the performance of services, also called the intelligence of the system, this type of IoT is named artificial intelligence of things. This paper proposes a model for improving the flexibility of sensors to enhance the intelligence of IoT. The model defines the quality levels of events and monitoring data for all types of monitoring. In the model, the data or events with different levels have different transmission priority. To reduce energy consumption of detection and transmission, the detecting period of sensors can be set to be longer when the monitored status is normal. In the model application, the sensors shorten the event detection and reaction times. Therefore, the efficiency of monitoring is enhanced. The evaluation demonstrates that the event detection and response times of the proposed mechanism are better than those of other mechanisms.
