Full textThis thesis has been made in the frame of a DGA/CNRS allocation in collaboration with the SIC laboratory, university of Poitiers, and Géographie, Image et Perception department, Centre d'Expertise Parisien (Délégation Générale pour l'Armement). These works are coming within the framework of dynamical image processing including pre-processing, information fusion and 3D reconstruction. In the first time, we have been interested by a multiresolution decomposition, named ridgelet transform, allowing to represent efficiently linear singularities in an image. We propose to discretize this transform using discrete analytical objects in the theoritical frame of the discrete geometry. The resulting transform is named 3D Discrete Analytical Ridgelet Transform. Performances of this method and its local extension are illustrated by image sequences denoising from application frame of this thesis, but also by colour image restoration. In a second time, we have worked in the only application frame of sportive gesture dynamical analysis to propose a 3D reconstruction method of marker trajectories fixed on athletes. The gesture is then recorded by several cameras. The principle is to apply tracking algorithms on markers extracted from each image sequences, then to use the set of data to reconstruct athlete movements in the 3D space. The tracking algorithm uses the formalism of evidence theory allowing to represent both a partial knowledge and an ignorance and to combine uncertain data

Full textA new generation of operating systems is born during the last ten years : distributed operating system oriented network. Three key-concepts are strongly developed : standardization, distribution and parallelism. One of these systems is CHORUS (TM). This project launched at INRIA, has elaborated an architecture far distributed systems. CHORUS offers a UNIX compatibility, is independent of the hardware architecture and of networks. This paper describes a complete computer architecture fitted to CHORUS, based on transputers and Clippers. The project is developed at UTC in the IlS department. The major feature of the machine lays on the fact that the operating system is executed by a dedicated processor : the Transputer. User's tasks are executed on a Clipper. These two processors are called a Heterogeneous Parallel Distributed processor (HPD). The HPD Machine (HPDM) is modular and may be composed of rive HPD processors. Transputers are fully connected by their serial links, avoiding bus bottlenecks. Clippers have a local shared memory accessible by their private bus, or by a global bus. A third bus is used by the DMAC supporting l/0 operations (disk, ETHERNET, X2S) and accessing the local shared memories and Clipper's private memories. This bus permits l/O operations without decreasing global bus bandwidth. HPDMs may be connected together by ETHERNET or X25 network

Full textMedication errors in hospital is a major public health problem with multiple reasons. Medication reviews and the role of cohorts of patients could help reduce this phenomenon. The objective of this thesis is to provide useful elements for public decision on the evolution of pharmaceutical practices and the adverse drugs reactions and secondly to provide tools directly useful to the pharmacist to target patients most at risk of adverse drugs events. This work is divided into three parts: (i) definition and context, (ii) evaluation of the clinical and economic impact of the clinical pharmacist in a pro-active approach of pharmaceutical care in the care units, (iii) risk factors adverse drug events in the short and long term. In view of these results and data from the literature, it appears that medication reports are a means of optimizing the quality and efficiency of care

Full textMy thesis deals with the database integration problems and the confidentiality of the exchanged data. My aim, however, is to solve the problems related to the mediator schema creation. We proposed a solution which will generate a global view of the different databases by reducing, considerably, the manual interventions. To achieve this, we will describe, at the beginning, each schema using ontologic terms. This description will create for each database an XML file which will be used ,then, for the creation of mediator schema and the matching rules. In order to process the mediator schema, we created a mediator that allows users to query the different databases trough the global view. To lighten the data input process, we used the DRUID system which allows users to input their data under the form of files which will be processed, then, to populate the databases. To handle the confidentiality of the data entry and access, however, we proposed the use of (DTD) documents models and files to each type of user's profil, whether, for writing or reading files. These DTD are generated, automatically, from the database schema and then modified, for each user type according to their rights on the database. Our solution was applied in the medical domain through the consulting of a distributed medical file

Full textThe recent technological breakthroughs in the actuation, perception and artificial intelligence domains herald a new dawn for driving assistance and highly automated driving. However, in a context where the automation remains imperfect and prone to error, it is crucial to ensure that the automated driving system maintains the driver’s situation awareness in order to be able to successfully and continuously supervise the system’s actions. At the same time, the system must be able to ensure the safety of the vehicle and prevent the driver’s actions that would compromise his safety and that of other road users. Therefore, it is essential that the issue of interaction and cooperation with the driver is addressed throughout the whole system design process. This entails the issues of task allocation, authority management and levels of automation. Conducted in the scope of the projet ANR-CoCoVeA (French acronym for: "Cooperation between Driver and Automated Vehicle"), this thesis takes a closer look at the question of cooperation between the driver and automated driving systems. Our main objective is to provide the driver with a suitable assistance level that accounts for his intentions while ensuring global safety. For this matter, we propose a general framework that incorporates the necessary features for a successful cooperation at the different levels of the driving task in the form of a system architecture. The questions of task allocation and authority management are addressed under their different nuances and the identified system functionalities are studied and adapted to match the cooperation requirements. Therefore, we have developed algorithms to perform maneuver decision making, trajectory planning, and control that include the necessary mechanisms to adapt to the driver’s actions and intentions in the case of potential conflicts. In addition to the technical aspects, this thesis studies the cooperation notions from the human factor perspective. User test studies conducted on the SHERPA-LAMIH dynamic simulator allowed for the validation of the different developments while shedding light on the benefits of different cooperation forms

Full textArias is a distributed shared memory (DSM) system designed as part of project SIRAC, whose purpose is to study a software support for distributed applications. Programming distributed applications is greatly facilitated by a DSM support. The evolution of distributed systems leading to the idea of DSM is outlined. A number of past and current DSM projects are studied and their particular features highlighted. The goals of our own project are then put into perspective, and its spefication defined. From there, the general architecture of Arias is described. We focus our attention on the problems related to the distribution of memory. Specifically, allocating and locating memory in a large-address space DSM presents some major difficulties that impact the application interface and the utilization of the underlying operating system. The close examination of those problems leads to the design of the memory service that is described. The implementation of that service is then fleshed out in its technical details. This implementation has a number of adjustable parameters whose impact on the general behaviour is refined through measurements and simulations. Some potential configurations, each adapted to certain usage patterns, are shown. In conclusion, we revisit lessons learned from this work. From what has been completed, we derive a view of future study topics and general perspectives on DSM
Han, Yurui. "Establishment of Sustainable Indicators Dedicated to the Evaluation of Urban Bike-sharing Systems." Electronic Thesis or Diss., Troyes, 2022. http://www.theses.fr/2022TROY0040.
Full textThe thesis is a scientific investigation on the sustainability of socio-technical systems. More specifically, the work seeks to push eco-design methodologies to their limits in order to propose new paradigms. In this perspective, and to be in tune with societal issues, the thesis proposes to explore the issue of urban mobility and more specifically the case of urban bike sharing system. For this, the different generations of bike sharing systems from their first appearances to the current systems have been established. In view of their analysis from the sustainability perspective, the thesis examines the different methods of sustainability analysis, most of them based on the concept of life cycle. A first analysis proves that urban mobility systems have not been designed taking into account the fundamental considerations of sustainability, namely the combined economic, environmental, socio/cultural aspects. Based on this observation, the thesis explores and develops new indicators specifically dedicated to bike sharing systems in urban areas, in particular by using Workflow models. The identification of these new indicators represents a basis for setting up a guideline to design urban bike sharing systems

Full textHealth, m-health and self quantification connect the body and disrupt the traditional model of care. They are moving it from curative and monopoly medicine to preventive medicine and taking a WHO-defined approach to health. By this means, the person is no longer simply placed at the center of the care device he becomes one of the actors including in the intimacy of his privacy. On the other hand, in search of the realization of economy but also of quality, the health system, has mutated, under the effect of the deployment of e-health. As a result, it is now substantially landscaped and can no longer be synthesized into the classic dichotomy between health and social medicine. The vector and resultant of this phenomenon consists in the circulation of health information. From now on, it has become largely digital and essential for the care and functioning of the healthcare system. The care is now conceived around categorical and inter-categorical exchange and sharing, even man-machine or machine-machine and no longer on a medicine based on secrecy. The Man who has become a homo Numericus is not without all rights and privacy. Law and techno-law are part of this scholarly game, the slightest inconsistent reform of which could upset its precarious balance

Full textThe Patient’s Medical Record (DMP) belongs to the medical electronic data. The thesis consists in observing the communication and information policy developed by the public and private actors of health in the implementation mechanism of the DMP, which is now shared, and of its challenges. The scope is restricted to urban medicine, general practitioners or specialists, the uses and behavior of the whole group of the people concerned, including the patient, in relation to the instrument set up within the context of health regulation and rationalization. As a first step, in order to lay the foundations of our reflexion, we delineate the relevant system (a complex one), and the key concepts. The actors and their relationships are observed as part of their specific collaboration in the DMP. As a second step, the public policy is observed and studied through the double focus of communication and information; then the language generated by the DMP is analyzed. An important point of the thesis lies in the collected data: hosting, dematerialization, safety, archiving, trackage and traceability, including the customizing of medicine and the fact that the relationship between the patient and the caregiver is changing. All this is studied throughout the leading theme of communication and the relevant sectors affected by e-health and more specifically by the DMP. This French development project of the care system has consequences upon the information systems and the health information system. Moreover, the change management has repercussions on a changing economic model, which is linked with the network economy

Full textThis thesis covers distributed resources allocation setting, without money balance, where agents have limited knowledge of the system. This thesis will use local swaps, i.e. bilateral deals, where one resource is exchanged for another. This work is divided in two parts. The first part focus the house market, with a very simple mechanism and agents don't use knowledge. The aim will to show that it has however good performances. For this, I will compare the algorithm with those of literature. I will also prove that in the single-peaked domains, this mechanism is Pareto-optimal. The second part examines a general framework. The mechanism contains three sub-protocols : contact protocol, negotiation protocols, and stop conditions. Each protocol will be described and experimented

Full textVirtualization appears as a key solution to revolutionize the architecture of ossified networks, such as the Internet. By adding a layer of abstraction on top of the actual hardware, virtual networks can be managed and configured flexibly and independently. The flexibility introduced into the network provides the operator with options for topology reconfiguration, besides allowing it to play with the software stacks and protocols. Today, network virtualization has been realized in research testbeds, allowing researchers to experiment with routing. Introducing virtualization in a production network such as those of the Internet raises several challenges, in particular the performance and the sharing of the routing and switching resources. These are in particular relevant, when the network data plane is virtualized, for maximum isolation and configurability in virtual networks. Therefore, we first evaluate and analyze the impact of virtualization on the performance of virtual software routers. Then, for being able to virtualize the data plane in production networks, we propose a hardware architecture of a virtualized switch, enabling the differentiated sharing of resources such as the ports and the memory buffers. Moreover, we examine the possible applications of virtual networks and propose a service for virtual networks on demand with configurable routing and controlled bandwidth. We apply and evaluate this service in the context of virtual infrastructures

Full textThis thesis is interested in the information sharing in inter-vehicle communication networks. Today, thanks to the positioning systems and to the wireless communication capacities, vehicles can exchange data relating different kind of events (emergency brake, traffic jam, available parking spot, etc. ) in order to provide new assistance systems for the drivers. In this work, we focused on vehicle-to-vehicle communication (V2V). The absence of any fixed communication infrastructure and the high nodes' mobility (i. E. Vehicles) in the network raise particularly interesting problems in term of data management, for example, in term of relevance estimation in these particularly dynamic environments. In this context, our main contributions concern : the proposal of mechanisms, based on the computation of an encounter probability, allowing to estimate the relevance of information exchanged between vehicles ; mechanisms of continuous query processing in decentralized environments allowing to keep information updated ; a dissemination protocol, exploiting our encounter probability, allowing to route data to vehicles potentially interested. Our proposals were evaluated in the VESPA (Vehicular Event Sharing with a mobile Peer-to-peer Architecture) system as well as through numerous simulations

Full textThe impact of memory hierarchy on the multiprocessor performance is well known. As the technological development of processors is much faster than the one of memories, it has become a widely studied bottleneck. A strong relation between the slow-down on multiprocessor architecture and memory pressure has been identified. Adaptive control system approach can be used to prevent apparition of bottlenecks. This kind of system are based on sensors and actors that implement the mechanism of control. This study intends to identify the relationship between performance slow-down and memory pressure, using hardware performance counters. Based on this relationship, we propose an adaptive control system that improves the efficiency of load balancing among the computer resources. The DRAC system, our adaptive control system, observes the access requests on the memory bus. It then adapts its user-level scheduling strategy to maximize the resource utilization

Full textWe analyze in this thesis the financial risk-sharing in an Islamic banking system. We build an analytical framework based on two provisions of Islamic law of contracts: the prohibition of Riba and Gharar. First, we analyze profit-sharing contracts, focusing on their role as an asset and their risk allocation. We also explain the dominance of mark-up contracts in the current practice of Islamic financial institutions. We then analyze the capital structure of Islamic banks, focusing on non-remunerated guaranteed accounts and their flexibility. We show the central place of the regulator in producing the necessaries conditions of good uses of these resources

Full textIn large scale distributed systems, strong consistency criteria like sequential consistency and linearizability are often very expensive or even unachievable. This thesis investigates the best ways to specify the objects that are still possible to implement in these systems. We assert that it is still possible to separate their specification in two complementary facets: an abstract data type that specifies the functional aspect of the operations and a weak consistency criterion that describes the level of quality of service ensured by the object in its distributed environment. We illustrate these concepts by an implementation in the D programming language: abstract data types are described by classes in the program and consistency criteria are taken from a list in the CODS library. We also draw up a map of the space of weak consistency criteria, organised around three families of primary criteria (state locality, eventual consistency and validity) and three families of secondary criteria (update consistency, pipelined consistency and serializability). Each secondary criterion strenghtens two primary criteria, but the three criteria can not be implemented together in considered systems. We also study the effects of causality on these families

Full textKnowledge about interactions between foodstuffs and packaging material is of importance for development of new packaging systems. Migration of residual printing ink solvents from packages to the wrapped food can cause off-flavours in food and deteriorate quality of end products. Ln addition, loss of aroma can result either from degradation of the aroma compounds, or absbrption into the packaging material. The aims of this study were the determination of partition coefficient of migrant in food simulantlpolymer system and developing a mathematical model in this system. The partition coefficients of migrants were determined by the Phase Ratio Variation method (pRV method) using a headspace-GC in food simulantlair system. By developing a new method, we calculated partition coefficients of migrants between food simulants/polymers. Mathematical predictive models were developed to predict the partition coefficient in octanol/water and food simulantlpolymer systems. The two types of descriptors used in these models were constitutional and quantum chemical descriptors. The results showed that the main physico-chemical properties of migrant, food and packaging influencing the partition coefficient were molecular weight, polarity, HLB and LUMO energy

Full textIn Virtual Enterprise and Concurrent Engineering environments, a wide variety of information is used. A crucial issue is the data communication and exchange between heterogeneous systems and distant sites. To solve this problem, the STEP project was introduced. The STandard for the Exchange of Product model data STEP is an evolving international standard for the representation and exchange of product data. The objective of STEP is to provide the unambiguous computer-interpretable representation of product data in all phases of the product’s lifecycle. In a collaborative product development different types of experts in different disciplines are concerned by the product (Design, Manufacturing, Marketing, Customers,. . . ). Each of these experts has his own viewpoint about the same product. STEP Models are unable to represent the expert’s viewpoints. The objective of our research work is to propose a methodology for representation and integration of different expert’s viewpoints in design and manufacturing phases. An Information Infrastructure for modelling, exchanging and sharing product data models is also proposed

Full textUtility Computing has evolved for many years leading to the infrastructure we know today as Cloud Computing. Nevertheless, these infrastructures are unable to satisfy the needs of the Internet of Things which requires low latency computing despite limited resources. In 2012, Cisco proposed a paradigm called Fog Computing, consisting of deploying a huge number of small servers, spread on many sites located at the edge of the network, close to the end devices. In this thesis, we try to create a seamless storage solution between the different Fog sites. Our first contribution consists in comparing existing storage solution and check if they can be used in a such environment. We show that InterPlanetary FileSystem (IPFS), an object store relying on a BitTorrent like protocol and a Distributed Hash Table is a promising solution. Nevertheless, the amount of network traffic exchanged between the sites to locate the data is important and has a non-negligible impact on the overall performance. Our second contribution consists in coupling IPFS with RozoFS, a distributed filesystem deployed on each site to limit the use of the DHT when accessed data are stored on the local site. Finally, we proposed to replace the distributed hash table by a location mechanism relying on a shortest path tree built on the physical topology, in order to contain the network traffic and to first request nodes at a close location, reachable with a low latency. By performing many experiments on the Grid’5000 testbed, we show that the coupling of IPFS with a Scale-Out NAS reduces by 34 % in average the access times and that our protocol to locate the objects reduces by 20 % the time to locate the data

Full textThe improvement of the road safety implies to increase the place of driving assistance systems for road vehicles. Paving the road of the fully autonomous vehicle, the drive-by-wire technology could improve the potential of the vehicle control. The implementation of these new embedded systems is still limited, mainly for reliability reasons, thus requiring the development of diagnostic mechanisms to detect occurring faults. In a first step, we evaluate a fault detection and isolation algorithm, based on the interacting multiple models approach. The method relies on a probabilistic estimation of the vehicle state, for which different non-linear observer schemes are compared. The experimental validation required the preparation of a test vehicle. Then, when a fault is identified, the optimal back-up control strategies are investigated according to the availability of actuators. Thus study points out that faults on steer-by-wire systems are particularly difficult to treat

Full textNowadays, the mobile operators want to offer a correct quality of service to their clients while they are in the heart of a catastrophic scenario with data request doubling from one year to another, networks reaching their capacity limits and stable revenues due to flat rate. The solution that we propose in this thesis is the exploitation of femto accesses, set up at clients place, through sharing resources. Since many types of cells should be managed with the introduction of femto cells, self-configuration mechanisms would be vital for mobile operators. The first part of this thesis compares the performances of three algorithms for the self-confi guration of the physical cell identifier in LTE. In the second part of the thesis, we present a techno-economic model where two types of actors interact. First, the femto access providers are the mobile operator clients who own femto access at their place and accept to share part of their bandwidth with other clients. Then, the femto access requesters are the mobile operator clients who need a good quality of service outdoor. In sharing femto access problem, requesters are competing to access providers resources. This competition is modeled as a game where requesters rely on a learning mechanism to address their requests. Through simulations, we evaluate the performances of this mechanism for different network loads and scenarios where competition between requesters differs. Finally, this mechanism is implemented on a static context then on a dynamic one. We propose a solution to mobility issues based on cells categorization
