Abstract:
Abstract Strategic management is an integral part of top management. By formulating the right strategy and its subsequent implementation, a managed organization can attract and retain a comparative advantage. In order to fulfil this expectation, the strategy also has to be supported with relevant findings of performed strategic analyses. The best known and probably the most common of these is a SWOT analysis. In practice, however, the analysis is reduced to mere presentation of influence factors, which does not allow more precise determination of a strategic concept. The content of the article tries to remove this drawback, submitting for public discussion two possible approaches to evaluate the SWOT analysis providing important information for the selection process of an organization's strategic orientation.

Abstract:
The reduction of rural poverty continues to be a paramount goal of the developing countries like India. So far various strategies (Sericulture is most appropriate out of them) have been pursued to address this concern and the rural employment creation is one of the major aspects. In India Sericulture is essentially village based industry providing employment to a sizable section of a population. Sericulture is not only a traditional, but also a living culture. It is an agro based labour intensive and commercially attractive economic activity falling under the cottage and small scale sector. India is the largest producer of Eri silk in the world as 96% of Eri silk is produced in India of the total Eri silk produced in the world (Rajesh Kumar and S.K.Gangwar 2010). Ericulture cannot progress unless it is thought out, planned and implemented in total perspective of the nation. No doubt, the central as well as the state government have their agencies in many places of the country and have been doing something. The aim of my SWOT analysis is to develop work plan for my research that takes into consideration many different internal and external factors and maximizes the potential of the strengths and opportunities while seeking minimize the impact of the weaknesses and threats.

Abstract:
A SWOT-analysis is considered as a tool of the strategic management for determining the feasibility of using accounting outsourcing as a way of the enterprise optimisation. It was found that the main interaction forms between the contractor and the customer of accounting outsourcing are the following ones: provision of accounting services; keeping records of only certain transactions or objects; integrated accounting and analytical support of all the enterprise activities; performance of the duties of the senior accounting officer of the enterprise. The list of enterprises, for which it is recommended to use accounting outsourcing is expanded, in particular newly created enterprises in a crisis condition; enterprises engaged in activities abroad; large enterprises, etc. The critical analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of accounting outsourcing is carried out and the necessity of SWOT-analysis potential risks and advantages of using accounting outsourcing in the short-term and long-term prospects are emphasised. It is noted that each advantage may pose a threat to the enterprise without taking into account certain key points of using accounting outsourcing, while the potential risks of using accounting outsourcing in the long run may be an advantage for the enterprise. The internal and external environments were analysed with the help of the extended model of SWOT-analysis from the position of the strengths and weaknesses of the enterprise, its capabilities and expected threats. An algorithm for enhancing the benefits and eliminating the shortcomings of accounting outsourcing should be developed during the decision-making on the usage of outsourcing in the enterprise activities. According to the results of SWOT-analysis, a matrix of measures on the expediency of accounting outsourcing has been formed, which will allow to predict the threats and potential opportunities at the stage of planning the use or refusal to use the accounting outsourcing services.

AbstractA brief review of the nature and subtypes of cataclysmic variables (CVs) is given. The catalogue of CVs is still very incomplete. All-sky surveys should add large numbers of CVs, which will improve knowledge of the space density of these systems. It is pointed out that the nova-like variables, which are the most difficult to discover, are the subtype having the highest space density. Their discovery is therefore the highest priority – they fix the frequency of CVs, which is important in population syntheses of binary stars.

The objective of this research is to give recommendation for a bakery chain operator called Greggs in terms of improving their breakfast menu selection to generate more sales. The research method uses SWOT analysis to produce a strategic development plan. Greggs is one of the largest United Kingdom bakery stores and performs well in generating revenue as the turnover. The uncertainty of Brexit, the minimum wage set by the government, the highest proportion of people who usually eat breakfast on the go, development of a mobile app, breakfast preference to a healthier fresh meal and reduce sugar consumption, competitor, extreme winter weather, and the government policy have an impact on Gregg revenue. Based on the SWOT analysis result it can be concluded that Gregg needs to utilize the position as the market leader to promote the benefit of high-quality healthy food, use the revenue to start on research for healthy products innovation, use the healthy breakfast trend to introduce vegan breakfast menu, add more drink option for the breakfast deal to make it more convenient for people to commute, keep focusing on the quality and taste development with a competitive price, add more menu that correspondent with consumer demand, and try to efficiently spend the revenue based on priority to cut operating cost.

A strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis has become a key tool used by businesses for strategic planning. Scholars have conducted SWOT research for over six decades. However, a collective understanding of SWOT analysis remains vague. This study accessed, analyzed, and synthesized the SWOT literature, allowing for new theoretical perspectives and frameworks to emerge. Using an integrative literature review, this study reviewed SWOT studies historically, providing a greater understanding of the SWOT analysis in different sectors and the different approaches used in SWOT studies. Furthermore, it fills the knowledge gap in the strategic planning context and indicates meaningful implications for managers that could help improve their strategic decisions.

Abstract:
The paper presents the results of SWOT-analysis of social competence of foreign students to define strengths and weaknesses of students, opportunities and threats to environment which influence the process of social competence formation. Vocational education aims at professional development and personal formation; the student acquires certain knowledge, skills, and competences that allow to participate in activities of social and working life. Higher educational establishments face the task of helping foreign students to become socially competent, i.e. to master a high level of social competence. Formation of social competence of students was studied by many Ukrainian and foreign scientists, but the social competence of foreign students has not been researched and there have been no attempts to analyse the initial data (internal and external) that influence its formation. Before choosing the means for the formation and development of social competence, it is necessary to assess its initial level, the potential of foreign students, also external environmental factors that affect this process. For this purpose, SWOT-analysis can be conducted. The SWOT-analysis method was primarily used in political and corporate management for strategic planning; for pedagogical purpose it helps to get the general knowledge about the current state, development of the situation, and then for creation of a model of behavioural strategies in the educational process. At the first stage of the analysis, information is collected about the internal factors (advantages and disadvantages) of the investigated object and about the external factors (favourable and threatening) that affect its activities. The collected data are analysed according to the following vectors: strengthening of internal advantages by external opportunities; elimination of external threats due to internal advantages; overcoming internal disadvantages due to external opportunities; promoting the elimination of internal weaknesses. To reveal the strengths and weaknesses and to identify environmental factors that influence the formation of social competence of foreign students, a survey was conducted in Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University and Alfred Nobel University (Dnipro) among foreign students and teachers who work with them. From the SWOT-analysis it is seen that the motivation of foreign students, the willingness to be engaged in extracurricular activities are the drivers of the process of forming social competence; foreign students are tolerant to other cultures, they are ready to improve their communication with others. The maximum attention teachers should pay to the issues of social and emotional intelligence, communication skills; and also the students should be acquainted with the social roles of the new environment. Regarding external factors of influence, the issues of pedagogical support of foreign students and lack of their involvement in extracurricular activities need to be corrected. Also, mixed groups can be the opportunity to improve the situation with involving foreign students into extracurricular activities. Highly qualified teachers and general humanization of the educational process are the factors to be relied upon in forming social competence of foreign students. On the basis of the given research the pedagogical conditions for the formation of social competence of foreign students can be formulated and the methods for successful educational process are chosen.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to counter-propose a new approach of SWOT analysis, which can be used in the strategic planning of the contemporary organizations. Design/methodology/approach This paper, after presenting the conceptual context of the existing (conventional) SWOT analysis, presents the existing criticism within the international literature. Then, it articulates gradually the new evolutionary and correlative SWOT analysis, by using the approaches and the literature of evolutionary economics, and the Stra.Tech.Man approach in business dynamics. In conclusion, it presents the new conceptual framework on which a new correlative SWOT analysis can be based. Findings Main finding of this research is that the interpretation of the conventional SWOT analysis tends to study the strengths and the weaknesses of the business with an analytical dichotomy. The conventional SWOT analysis conceptualizes, usually implicitly, the opportunities and threats of the external environment as having the same impact to all the socioeconomic agents, without exception. However, by using a correlative interpretation of SWOT analysis, we understand that the opportunities and threats are always “potential,” depending on the organization’s strategic capability to exercise its comparative strengths and weaknesses. Originality/value In the existing literature of SWOT analysis, despite the growing criticism, there is no critique that can give systemic and correlative answers to the articulation of business strategy in SWOT terms. The Stra.Tech.Man approach, also, is a conceptual framework to study the evolutionary adaptation of all the kinds of socioeconomic organizations.

Abstract:
The article based on SWOT-analysis of outsourcing of accounting services. Accounting services can be improved if you can work on your strengths, as well as correct the weaknesses of the company or area where you lose points. SWOT-analysis is considered as a tool of strategic management to determine the feasibility of using accounting outsourcing as a way to optimize the enterprise. SWOT consists mainly of two main parts: strengths and weaknesses, which will indicate the internal aspect, and threats and opportunities related to external factors for the company (but those that are present in the environment). In essence, we test the effectiveness of the accounting services provided by the contractors that your business provides against this background. With this analysis, the firm can understand the problems, ie where they lack work and why, because these are periods during the year when work becomes fragile. Why this happens is best analyzed because of it. A set of business goals are things that outsourcing companies need to invest because simple marketing is not enough. The analysis of advantages and disadvantages of accounting outsourcing is carried out and the necessity of SWOT-analysis of potential risks and advantages of using perspectives of accounting outsourcing is emphasized. The internal and external environment was analyzed using an extended SWOT analysis model from the standpoint of strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and expected threats. Based on the results of the SWOT-analysis, a matrix has been formed that will allow predicting threats and potential opportunities at the stage of planning the use or refusal to use accounting outsourcing services.

Abstract:
Drug regulation plays pivotal role in any country because the purpose of drug regulation is to promote and to protect public health by ensuring the safety, efficacy and quality of drugs. Drug regulation should cover all products for which medicinal claims are made and all aspects of drugs like manufacturing, import, export, distribution, dispensing, promotion, sell and supply. But unfortunately drug regulation does not meet these requirements in India as legislation omits or exempts certain areas of pharmaceutical activity from the scope of control in India. Although there are so many deficiencies, lacunae and hurdles in Indian drug regulation, there is a wider scope for drug regulation in India because government is taking positive steps to reform it. One can say India is a vast ocean of opportunities. Hence it is tried to analyse the drug regulation of India using the framework of SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). SWOT analysis aids to find out possible ways to overcome the weaknesses and threats, and to utilize the strengths and opportunities properly
