The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe the logistic processes in the processing of municipal waste in the company Local Enterprise in Hluboká nad Vltavou. Describe the business and analyze its decision-making issues. Then analyze the current situation and propose changes to apply optimization methods through a special computer program. The conclusion of the thesis is a concrete proposal of route optimization to improve the current situation of the company, which will lead to a positive economic effect on logistics of waste processing.

This thesis deals with processing of real data regarding waste collection. It describes select parts of the fields of statistical tests, identification of outliers, correlation analysis and linear regression. This theoretical basis is applied through the programming language Python to process the data into a form suitable for creating linear models. Final models explain between 70 \% and 85 \% variability. Finally, the information obtained through this analysis is used to specify recommendations for the waste management company.

The aim of this thesis is to prepare real data for subsequent optimization of the collection plan using advanced VRP („Vehicle Routing Problem “) algorithms. The diploma thesis is motivated by the project Strategic Partnership for Environmental Technologies and Energy Production. The output focuses on indeterminate factors that have a major risk for subsequent operations. These are economic, environmental and social risks (overcrowded containers). Another result is the implementation and processing of the time-consuming passage of all streets, the estimation of the speed of the collection (garbage) truck for the subsequent optimization of the route and the estimation of the mean value of the filling of individual collection containers.

The aim of this thesis was based on the study of literature, a custom search to available information, by contacting the individual machine manufacturers or their authorized representatives, carry out a comparative analysis of the current supply technique for compacting waste in municipal waste landfills in the Czech Republic. In the analysis were chosen three main renowned manufacturers of equipment for compacting waste so. Compactors. The basic criterion objective of the thesis was to assess mutual technical parameters and compaction efficiency of individual machines and assessment of specific technical and user benefits and drawbacks of its own operating compactor. In the introduction, I searched all available literature on a given topic, also said all requirements of valid legislation, including an explanation of basic concepts related to waste management and landfill in the Czech Republic. The second part has been given to the comprehensive assessment of the specific technical parameters of selected models of compactors according to their market relevance and their design and technical detailům.Vybraná group's three largest manufacturers has been reported the names of anonymous names A, B and C due to some technical details manufacturers are marked as private. Individual machines said producers were classified into two categories, which always correspond to the basic and the most powerful model from everyone. Such segmentation was necessary because, in order to avoid an inadequate technically inaccurate and comparing specific machine parameters. The final section summarizes the technical data relating to specific machine types and their mutual advantages and disadvantages.

Under the current waste legislation in both European Union and Czech Republic, material recovery is preferred over other types of municipal solid waste treatment. However, waste collection systems have negative environmental impacts. This thesis deals with modeling and optimization of waste collection routes, which should lower their impact. The model makes use of the ArcGIS software system and operations research to optimize routes. Inputs of the model are the amount of waste produced in the region, locations of the final facilities, and their capacities. The amount of waste produced per district was estimated to be the portion of total waste produced corresponding to the number of inhabitants of given district. Final facilities are the assorting lines. Distances between districts and final facilities were computed by Network Analyst Extension of ArcGIS. The index method assigns the assorting lines to districts in a way that minimizes total distance traveled by waste collection vehicles, while respecting the capacity of the assorting lines. Outputs are waste collection routes and the distance, per waste type, traveled by the waste collection vehicles. This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the collection and sorting of municipal waste in Brno. The first part of the diploma thesis defines basic concepts of waste management and evaluation of the legislative environment in the Czech Republic. The next part describes in detail the system of collection and sorting of municipal waste in the territory of the City of Brno. The methodology analyzes the development of waste management in the Czech Republic, the South Moravian Region and the territory of the City of Brno. At the end of the thesis the current situation is evaluated and a proposal for better utilization of waste is set.
