Abstract:
ABSTRACT The rag locus of Porphyromonas gingivalis W50 encodes RagA, a predicted tonB-dependent receptor protein, and RagB, a lipoprotein that constitutes an immunodominant outer membrane antigen. The low G+C content of the locus, an association with mobility elements, and an apparent restricted distribution in the species suggested that the locus had arisen by horizontal gene transfer. In the present study, we have demonstrated that there are four divergent alleles of the rag locus. The original rag allele found in W50 was renamed rag-1, while three novel alleles, rag-2 to rag-4, were found in isolates lacking rag-1. The three novel alleles encoded variants of RagA with 63 to 71% amino acid identity to RagA1 and each other and variants of RagB with 43 to 56% amino acid identity. The RagA/B proteins have homology to numerous Bacteroides proteins, including SusC/D, implicated in polysaccharide uptake. Monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies raised against RagB1 of P. gingivalis W50 did not cross-react with proteins from isolates carrying different alleles. In a laboratory collection of 168 isolates, 26% carried rag-1, 36% carried rag-2, 25% carried rag-3, and 14% carried rag-4 (including the type strain, ATCC 33277). Restriction profiles of the locus in different isolates demonstrated polymorphism within each allele, some of which is accounted for by the presence or absence of insertion sequence elements. By reference to a previously published study on virulence in a mouse model (M. L. Laine and A. J. van Winkelhoff, Oral Microbiol. Immunol. 13:322-325, 1998), isolates that caused serious disease in mice were significantly more likely to carry rag-1 than other rag alleles.

Abstract:
We consider an [Formula: see text] supersymmetric U(N) gauge theory with an adjoint chiral multiplet. By developing a self-consistent Hartree-Fock approximation to the leading order which is reminiscent of that of the BCS/NJL in the superconductivity/chiral symmetry, we show that the [Formula: see text] supersymmetry is spontaneously broken, giving a mixed Majorana-Dirac mass term for gaugino due to the nonvanishing D-term VEV and F-term one induced by D-term.

Abstract:
Due to rare earth doping, phosphates and vanadates are the leading materials for the synthesis of phosphors due to their thermal stability, low sintering temperature, and chemical stability. Phosphors in the nanoscale state are of particular interest. The simple, fast, and scalable synthesis of nanophosphors with high chemical homogeneity is a priority task. The purpose of this work was to synthesize powders of mixed yttrium vanadate-phosphate crystals of various compositions by coprecipitation under the action of microwave radiation and spray pyrolysis, as well as to compare the characteristics ofthe obtained samples. Samples of YVхP1–хO4 of different compositions were synthesized by coprecipitation under the action of microwave radiation and spray pyrolysis in different modes. In the case of the synthesis of yttrium vanadate-phosphate YVхP1–хO4 by spray pyrolysis followed by annealing, according to the X-ray phase analysis data, single-phase nanopowders were formed. The morphological characteristics of the samples were revealed by the methods of transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Depending on the annealing conditions, the samples were either faceted or spherical particlesless than 100 nm in size. The composition of the YVхP1–хO4 , samples synthesized by the coprecipitation method under the action of microwave radiation strongly depended on the pH of the precursor solution. The minimum content of impurity phases was reached at pH 9.Spray pyrolysis allows the synthesis of yttrium vanadate phosphate YVхP1–хO4 nanopowders of high chemical homogeneity with a particle size of less than 100 nm. The maximum chemical homogeneity of yttrium vanadate-phosphate powders was achieved at pH = 9 during the synthesis of YVхP1–хO4 by coprecipitation under the action of microwave radiation. However, the particle size dispersion was large, within the range of 2–60 μm.

Abstract:
Les mammifères hébergent des communautés microbiennes très diverses. Parmi celles-ci, le microbiote intestinal joue un rôle crucial dans la santé de l’hôte. Les bactéries intestinales utilisent des polysaccharides et oligosaccharides variés comme principales sources de carbone, en utilisant des systèmes protéiques complexes pour dégrader ces substrats en monosaccharides assimilables. Les bactéries du phylum Bacteroidota sont parmi les plus abondantes dans les microbiomes intestinaux des mammifères. Elles produisent une série de protéines nécessaires à la détection, à la capture, au transport et à la dégradation des polysaccharides et oligosaccharides. Ces systèmes complexes sont codés par des loci dédiés à l'utilisation des polysaccharides (PUL). A la surface cellulaire, les protéines de liaison aux glycanes (SGBPs) jouent un rôle majeur dans l’efficacité de capture des polysaccharides et des oligosaccharides entourant les cellules, offrant ainsi aux Bacteroidota un avantage compétitif dans la colonisation de leurs habitats. . Dans ce travail de thèse, nous nous sommes concentrés sur la caractérisation et l'ingénierie des transporteurs de bactéries du phylum Bacteroidota, en particulier leurs composants SGBPs, isses des microbiomes digestifs humains et bovins. L'objectif était d'élucider les relations structure-fonction des différents éléments protéiques de ces transporteurs impliqués dans l'utilisation des polysaccharides d’origine alimentaire ou microbiennne. Nous avons tout d’abord caractérisé la fonction et la structure cristallographique d’une protéine de type SusD (appelée ici F5_SusD-like) codée par un PUL provenant d’un Bacteroides non cultivé de l’intestin humain, et qui est conservé chez Bacteroides vulgatus, une espèce dominante dans le microbiote intestinal. Malgré son incapacité à se lier aux xylooligosaccharides (XOS), qui sont pourtant les substrats ciblés par le F5_PUL, F5_SusD est essentiel à la fonctionnalité du transport. L'analyse structurale a révélé des boucles désordonnées et des résidus clés mal alignés, qui pourraient être responsables de l'incapacité de cette protéine de type SGBP à se lier aux XOS. Dans un second temps, nous avons étudié la spécificité des transporteurs F5_SusC/D et F5_MFS vis-à-vis des XOS en introduisant une β-mannosidase dans le périplasme des souches recombinantes d’E. coli produisant ces transporteurs. En utilisant des variants du locus F5 précédemment construits par Tauzin et al., nous avons complété le système d'utilisation des oligosaccharides de F5 avec l'enzyme BT_0458 de la famille CAZy GH2. Nos données préliminaires suggèrent que les transporteurs du clone métagénomique F5 ne peuvent pas internaliser le mannotriose, indiquant une probable stricte spécificité de ces systèmes vis-à-vis des XOS. Par la suite, nous avons exploré le potentiel de l’évolution adaptative en laboratoire (ALE) pour l’ingénierie du système recombinant d’utilisation des XOS chez E. coli. Cette étude préliminaire indique que l’évolution in cellulo pourrait servir à améliorer les fonctions de transporteurs recombinants chez E. coli et à approfondir l’étude de leurs relations structure-fonction sous pression évolutive. Enfin, nous avons caractérisé une autre protéine de type SusD (appelée 41O1_SusD) codée par un locus d'utilisation de β-glucanes et provenant d'un clone métagénomique isolé du microbiome du rumen bovin. La caractérisation fonctionnelle de cette protéine a montré que 41O1_SusD présente une affinité de liaison pour les β-1,3-glucanes ramifiés par des liaisons β-1,6. Une comparaison structurale avec des protéines homologues a permis de mettre en évidence des motifs similaires de reconnaissance du substrat, impliquant trois résidus tryptophane. Ces résultats ont permis de progresser dans la compréhension du rôle joué par les protéines de type SusD dans l’utilisation des substrats issus de la paroi cellulaire végétale et/ou d’origine fongique dans le rumen bovin<br>Mammals host very diverse microbial communities. Among these, the gut microbiota plays a crucial role in host health. Gut bacteria utilize various polysaccharides and oligosaccharides as carbon sources, using complex protein machineries to degrade these substrates into assimilable monosaccharides. Bacteroidota represents one of the dominant phyla in mammal gut microbiomes. They produce a series of proteins necessary for the sensing, capture, transport and degradation of polysaccharides and oligosaccharides. These complex machineries are encoded by polysaccharide utilization loci (PULs). Among the proteins encoded by PULs, cell surface glycan-binding proteins (SGBPs) are essential for the efficient capture of substrates surrounding the cells. In this thesis work, we focused on the characterization and engineering of Bacteroidota transporters, in particular their SGBP components, identified from the human and bovine gut microbiomes. The aim was to elucidate the structure-function relationships of the different protein elements of these transporters, involved in the utilization of dietary or microbial glycans in gut microbiomes. We first characterized the function and crystallographic structure of a SusD-like protein (referred to F5_SusD-like here) encoded by a xylooligosaccharide (XOS) PUL from an uncultured human gut Bacteroides species, which is conserved in the prominent Bacteroides vulgatus species. Despite its inability to bind to XOS, that are the cognate substrates of the F5_PUL, the F5_SusD-like protein is essential for the uptake functionality. Structural analysis revealed disordered loops and misaligned key residues, which could be responsible for the inability of this SGBP-like protein to bind XOS. Then, we investigated the specificity of F5_SusC/D and F5_MFS transporters towards XOS by introducing aβ-mannosidase into the periplasm of the recombinant E. coli strains harboring these transporters. This approach aimed at determining if the transporters could uptake mannotriose, which would be degraded to monosaccharides by the β-mannosidase and support E. coli growth. Using F5 variants previously constructed by Tauzin et al., we complemented the F5 oligosaccharide utilization system with the BT_0458 β-mannosidase from the GH2 CAZy family. Our preliminary data suggest that the F5 transporters cannot recognize and transport mannotriose, indicating a probable strict specificity towards XOS. Subsequently, we explored the potential of adaptive laboratory evolution (ALE) to engineer the recombinant F5_XOS utilization pathway in E. coli. After serial sub-cultures of the F5_XOS containing E. coli strains, the mutation rates and positions were assessed by next-generation sequencing. This preliminary study indicated that ALE could serve to improve transporter functions and provided the basis for further investigation of the structure-function relationships of oligosaccharide transporters under evolutionary pressures. Finally, we characterized another SusD-like protein (referred to 41O1_SusD) encoded by a β-glucan utilization locus from a metagenomic clone isolated from the bovine rumen microbiome. Functional characterization showed that the 41O1_SusD-like protein exhibits binding affinity for β-1,6 branched β-1,3-glucans. Structural comparison with homolog SusD-like proteins highlighted a similar pattern of substrate recognition, involving three tryptophan residues. Our findings provided advances in the understanding of the role played by SusD-like proteins in plant cell wall and/or fungal polysaccharide utilization in the cow rumen. Overall, this thesis generated advances in the understanding of the structure-function relationships of SusD-like proteins. In the long term, the findings will contribute to the development of potential applications in synthetic biology and microbial engineering for enhanced polysaccharide utilization

Abstract:
Introducción: En los últimos años diversos estudios epidemiológicos han mostrado la presencia de una relación entre la hipovitaminosis D y el síndrome metabólico y algunos de sus componentes. Sin embargo, el conocimiento de esta asociación es insuficiente y los estudios disponibles no nos permiten establecer una clara relación causal entre las dos entidades. Hipótesis: La hipótesis de esta tesis es que el estudio de la presencia de hipovitaminosis D en distintas situaciones clínicas vinculadas al síndrome metabólico permitirá aumentar el conocimiento acerca de esta asociación. Objetivos: El objetivo principal de esta tesis es determinar la relación existente y los factores predictores de la asociación del déficit de vitamina D con procesos relacionados con el síndrome metabólico. Material y métodos: Se realizaron tres estudios independientes en sujetos con distintos grados de sobrepeso y obesidad, sujetos con diabetes tipo 2 y sujetos con hiperlipemia familiar combinada. El primero de ellos fue un estudio transversal y los dos últimos incluyeron un estudio transversal y otro longitudinal, tras la mejoría del control glucémico y lipídico, respectivamente. En el estudio en pacientes con sobrepeso y obesidad, se estudió la relación entre la hipovitaminosis D y el grado de obesidad, la presencia de síndrome metabólico y la insulinoresistencia. En los estudios con sujetos con diabetes tipo 2 e hiperlipemia familiar combinada, se estudió la relación de la hipovitaminosis D con los parámetros lipídicos, los marcadores de inflamación, las adipoquinas, los parámetros de control glucémico, la insulinoresistencia y la adiposidad. Además, se analizó el efecto la mejoría del control glucémico y lipídico sobre las concentraciones de vitamina D. Resultados: Los principales hallazgos obtenidos fueron: 1- existe una relación entre la hipovitaminosis D y el síndrome metabólico que es independiente del grado de obesidad; 2- los pacientes con diabetes tipo 2 tienen una elevada prevalencia de hipovitaminosis D y los sujetos con hiperlipemia familiar combinada presentan concentraciones más bajas de vitamina D que los sujetos sanos; 3- los sujetos con hipovitaminosis D presentan mayor grado de resistencia a la insulina, pero ni éste parámetro, ni el estado inflamatorio de bajo grado característico de los sujetos con síndrome metabólico parecen explicar la asociación entre la hipovitaminosis D y el síndrome metabólico; 4- la hipovitaminosis D se relaciona con las alteraciones lipídicas propias de la dislipemia aterogénica y esta asociación es en parte independiente de la obesidad; 5- el tratamiento de la dislipemia induce un aumento en las concentraciones de vitamina D, por mecanismos no definidos. Conclusión: existe una asociación de la hipovitaminosis D con el síndrome metabólico y sus componentes. Aún en ausencia de causalidad definida, por la elevada prevalencia y la estrecha relación, la hipovitaminosis D podría considerarse un elemento más del síndrome metabólico.<br>Introduction: In last years, several epidemiological studies have shown the presence of a link between vitamin D deficiency and the metabolic syndrome and some of its components. However, the knowledge of this association is insufficient and the available studies do not allow us to establish a clear causal relationship between the two entities. Hypothesis: The hypothesis of this thesis is that the study of vitamin D deficiency, in different clinical situations related to the metabolic syndrome, will increase the current knowledge of this association. Objectives: The main objective of this thesis was to determine the relationship of vitamin D deficiency with medical conditions related to the metabolic syndrome, and to evaluate the possible predictors of this association. Material and methods: We performed three independent studies in subjects with overweight or obesity, type 2 diabetes and familial combined hyperlipidemia. The first was a cross-sectional study and the second and third studies were transversal and included a longitudinal sub-study following the improvement of glycemic and lipid control, respectively. In the study in patients with overweight or obesity, we studied the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and the degree of obesity, the presence of metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance. In studies in subjects with type 2 diabetes and familial combined hyperlipidemia, we studied the relationship of vitamin D deficiency with lipid parameters, inflammatory markers, adipokines and parameters of glycemic control, insulin resistance and adiposity. In addition, we examined the effect of glycemic and lipid control on vitamin D concentrations. Results: The main findings of the present thesis were: 1- there is a relationship between vitamin D deficiency and the metabolic syndrome that is independent of the degree of obesity, 2- patients with type 2 diabetes have a high prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and subjects with familial combined hyperlipidemia have lower vitamin D concentrations than healthy subjects, 3- vitamin D deficiency is associated with insulin resistance, but neither this parameter nor the low-grade inflammatory state characteristic of the metabolic syndrome subjects appear to explain the association between vitamin D deficiency and metabolic syndrome, 4 – vitamin D deficiency is associated with the lipid profile characteristic of atherogenic dyslipidemia and this association is partly independent of obesity, 5- treatment of dyslipidemia induces an increase in the vitamin D concentrations by undefined mechanisms. Conclusion: There is an association of vitamin D deficiency with the metabolic syndrome and its components. Although a causal relationship cannot be defined, the high prevalence and the close relationship between the two entities indicate that vitamin D deficiency could be considered an element of the metabolic syndrome.

Grado de magíster en microbiología<br>Los virus respiratorios son la principal causa de infección respiratoria aguda en pediatría. Dentro de los agentes virales aislados en los cuadros respiratorios se encuentran los enterovirus, de los cuales se conoce poco sobre su prevalencia y rol en las infecciones respiratorias. El enterovirus D68 (EV-D68), virus RNA de la familia Picornaviridae, es un virus re-emergente que causa infección respiratoria aguda y se ha asociado con casos de bronquiolitis y neumonía principalmente en niños, y actualmente también se asocia a complicaciones neurológicas como Parálisis Flácida Aguda (PFA) (Ayscue, 2014) En otoño de 2014 ocurrió el mayor brote por EV-D68 con 2287 casos repartidos prácticamente por todo el mundo. En nuestro país, no se han publicado estudios de detección sistemática de este virus en muestras respiratorias. El objetivo de este estudio transversal fue identificar y caracterizar la circulación de EV-D68 en Chile. Se incorporaron al estudio 1966 muestras respiratorias obtenidas entre los años 2014-2016 ingresadas bajo el programa nacional de vigilancia de infecciones respiratoria aguda grave (IRAG) en el Instituto de Salud Pública de Chile, todas negativas para virus Influenza. En todas las muestras se analizaron: virus respiratorio sincicial, metapneumovirus, parainfluenza (1, 2 y 3), adenovirus, rinovirus, bocavirus, coronavirus (OC43 y NL63) y EV-D68, mediante PCR en tiempo real con transcripción reversa en los casos de virus RNA, utilizando sondas TaqMan y protocolos establecidos por el Centro para el Control y Prevención de Enfermedades (CDC). Se identificaron 15 muestras positivas (0,76%) para EVD68: 13 eran muestras obtenidas el 2014, una era del 2015 y la última del 2016. Los genotipos circulantes se determinaron mediante la secuenciación del gen VP1, que codifica para una proteína estructural de la cápside viral y le otorga sitios de antigenicidad a la partícula viral. Filogenéticamente se estableció que 14 muestras pertenecían al subclado B1, mientras que la muestra positiva del año 2016, pertenecía al subclado B3. Estos resultados se condicen con los clados que circularon entre el 2014 y 2015 pertenecientes al subclado B1. El subclado B3 se detectó solo en 4 países además del nuestro (EE.UU, Holanda, Dinamarca y Suecia). Es importante dar a conocer en detalle la distribución en el tiempo y epidemiología de este nuevo virus emergente por las complicaciones secundarias durante el desarrollo del cuadro clínico, ya sea a nivel neurológico como respiratorio, y ver el impacto en salud pública en nuestro país. En conclusión, Enterovirus D-68 circula en niños y adultos con cuadros respiratorios agudos graves en nuestro país, en forma esporádica y en brote, y en frecuente coinfección con otros virus respiratorios. La baja detección (0.76%) no justifica una vigilancia activa de este virus respiratorio.<br>Respiratory viruses are the main cause of acute respiratory infection in pediatrics. Among the viral agents isolated in the respiratory tract are the Enteroviruses, of which little is known about their prevalence and role in infections. Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) is a re-emerging virus that may cause acute respiratory infections and has been associated with cases of bronchiolitis and pneumonia mainly in children, and is also being currently associated with neurological complications such as acute flaccid paralysis (AFP). In the autumn of 2014, the largest outbreak of EVD68 was recorded with about 2287 cases that spread around the world. In our country, there have been no studies published on the systematic detection of this virus in respiratory samples. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to identify and characterize the circulation of EV-D68 in Chile. For that 1966 respiratory samples collected between 2014-2016 of patients admitted under the national surveillance program of severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) at the Institute of Public Health of Chile, were studied. All of them were negative for Influenza virus by RT-PCR. The samples were analyzed for respiratory syncytial virus, Metapneumovirus, Parainfluenza (1, 2 and 3), Adenovirus, Rhinovirus, Bocavirus, Coronavirus (OC43 and NL63) and EV-D68 by real-time PC,R with reverse transcription in the cases of RNA viruses, using TaqMan probes and protocols established by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). A total of 15 positive samples (0.76%) for EV-D68 were identified, 13 samples from 2014, one from 2015 and one from 2016. To determine the circulating genotypes, the VP1 gene was sequenced. This gene codes for a structural protein of the viral capsid, which provides antigenicity sites to the viral particle. Through phylogenetic analysis, it was established that 14 samples belonged to subclade B1, while the positive sample from year 2016 belonged to subclade B3. These results are consistent with the clades that circulated between 2014 and 2015, subclade B1. Subclade B3 was detected in 4 countries besides ours in 2016 (USA, Holland, Denmark and Sweden). It is important to present in detail the distribution over time and the epidemiology of this emerging virus, due to the secondary complications during the development of the disease, either at the neurological or respiratory level and see its impact on public health in our country.

Higher-derivative operators play a fundamental role in the development of effective field theories. This thesis deals with the study of such operators in the context of the effective low-energy theory of type IIB superstring theory. In particular, we revisit a past attempt to find the supersymmetric form of the higher-derivatives for the D7-brane modulus in an orbifold compactification at the level of a globally supersymmetric theory. These higher-derivatives descend from the Dirac-Born-Infeld action of the D7-brane. Starting from the component Lagrangian the task is to identify the supersymmetric higher-derivative operator which reproduces the component terms. To this end, we develop a new systematic approach to determine this supersymmetric form and test it for the present example.

no<br>In contrast with artefactual studies of long-distance trade and exchange in South Asia during the Prehistoric and Early Historic periods (Ardika et al . 1993; Gogte 1997; Krishnan and Coningham 1997; Tomber 2000; Gupta et al . 2001; Ford et al . 2005), few scientifically orientated analyses have focused on artefacts from the region¿s Historic period. During excavations at the ancient city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, a number of buff ware ceramics with a putative organic coating on the interior were recovered (Coningham 2006). Dated stylistically to between the third and ninth centuries AD , analysis of the coatings using gas chromatography¿mass spectrometry (GC¿MS) and stable isotope analysis (carbon and deuterium) confirmed that the coatings are bitumen¿an organic product associated with petroleum deposits. There are no known bitumen sources in Sri Lanka, and biomarker distributions and isotopic signatures suggest that the majority of the samples appear to have come from a single bitumen source near Susa in Iran. The relationship between the bitumen coatings and the vessels is discussed, and it is suggested that the coatings were used to seal permeable ceramic containers to allow them to transport liquid commodities. This study enhances our knowledge of networks of trade and exchange between Sri Lanka and western Asia during Historic times.

Abstract:
Resumen: Esta investigacióvn presenta la influencia en Charles-Edouard Jeanneret de su maestro Charles L´Eplattenier a través de dos instituciones: l´École d´Art de La Chaux-de-Fonds donde ambas figuras se encontraron y la asociación de la Suiza francófona l´OEUVRE, en la que los dos coincidieron también un breve espacio de tiempo en la misma época. La actividad en ambas instituciones representa la doble vertiente de un único proyecto para reformar los procesos artísticos ligados a los oficios artesanales; el propósito era incorporar al producto industrial producido en serie el valor añadido de su calidad artística, siguiendo el ejemplo de la Werkbund alemana. Para tal fin era necesario llevar a cabo una profunda reforma en el programa de enseñanza de dibujo en l´École d´Art, y desarrollar a la vez, una serie de acciones que permitieran visualizar los logros alcanzados. Su estrategia estaba apoyada en dos pilares: formación y propaganda. La presente investigación detalla de que manera Jeanneret participó en este proyecto a través de su intervención tanto en l´École d´Art y las nuevas estructuras para renovar la enseñanza del dibujo, como en la asociación l¨OEUVRE y sus distintos proyectos, A través de estas iniciativas encontramos el origen de algunos temas a los que Le Corbusier dedicará su atención; identificamos personajes que jugarán un papel importante en distintos momentos de su vida o proyectos y artículos que anunciarán propuestas teóricas y prácticas de sus trabajos posteriores. Abstract: This research presents the influence in Charles-Edouard Jeanneret of his master Charles L'Eplattenier in the context of two institutions. On one hand ´École d´Art de La Chaux-de-Fonds, where both figures met and where they established a first line of common work; and on the other hand, the association from the french-speaking Switzerland called l'Oeuvre, in which both briefly met. The activity in both institutions had the same goal and was in reality a single project: the reform of artistic processes bounded to the craft trades to provide the mass-produced industrial goods with the added value of artistic quality, following the example of the Deutscher Werkbund. In order to do this, it was necessary to carry out a profound reform of the drawing education program of l´Ecole d´Art and develop a series of propaganda actions allowing to visualize its achievements. Thus, the strategy was based on two pillars: education and propaganda. This research details how Jeanneret contributed to this project through his involvement in both, l´École d´Art’s renovation of drawing education and the Association l'Oeuvre’s various projects. Through them we discover the origin of some of the subjects that Le Corbusier will devote its attention to, characters that will play an important role in different moments of his life, or projects and articles that announce theoretical proposals or practices of his subsequent work. El Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje SENA (Sena.edu.co, 2018) es una institución pública colombiana que ofrece programas de formación complementaria y titulada.​ Enfatiza su misión en la capacitación técnica del recurso humano; formando personas para vincularlas al mercado laboral​ y realiza actividades de desarrollo empresarial, comunitario y tecnológico. Los Tecnoparques SENA, (Tecnoparque.sena.edu.co, 2018) son un programa de innovación tecnológica dirigida a todos los Colombianos, que actúa como acelerador para el desarrollo de proyectos de I+D+i materializados en prototipos funcionales en cuatro líneas tecnológicas que promueva el emprendimiento de base tecnológica: Electrónica y Telecomunicaciones, Tecnologías Virtuales, Biotecnología, Nanotecnología e Ingeniería y Diseño. Específicamente, para la línea de Ingeniería y Diseño queremos dar a conocer sus servicios y resultados en las siguientes áreas: planeación, análisis y simulación, diseño industrial, ingeniería de productos y procesos, diseño y materiales para la manufactura y ensamble, fabricación digital de productos, ingeniería inversa. Abstract Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) has been conducting R&amp;D of production system for Seafloor Massive Sulfides (SMS) mining. In order to reach commercialization stage in SMS development, the pipe wear due to slurry flow is one of many technical issues to be solved. In the present paper, the authors conducted the large scale experiment using full scale pipes to obtain the various data on pipe wear, and investigated the pipe wear amount in commercial operation. In the experiment, SUS 304 and UHPE were used for the inner materials of test pieces. In addition, the test pieces were installed in the vertical, horizontal and inclined section. Then the authors estimated the thickness reduction of pipe due to slurry flow based on the experimental results.

Abstract:
Muchas especies de hormigas se han reportado como depredadores del psílido asiático de los cítricos Diaphorina citri Kuwayama (Hemiptera: Liviidae) (e.g., Michaud 2004), aunque la depredación por parte de las hormigas no se ha observado. Según Way (1963), las hormigas que atienden hemípteros pueden alimentarse de sus trofobiontes cuando las fuentes de proteínas y lípidos son escasas. Navarrete et al. (2013) reportaron que la presencia de las hormigas Pheidole megacephala Fabricius, 1793, Brachymyrmex patagonicus Mayr, 1868, y Solenopsis invicta Buren, 1972, se correlacionó positivamente con altas tasas de parasitismo de T. radiata en un experimento de exclusión de hormigas realizado en Florida (EE.UU.). En ese estudio, Navarrete et al. (2013) no encontraron ningún comportamiento agresivo de las hormigas hacia las ninfas de D. citri, y el número de ninfas de D. citri no mostró diferencias estadísticas entre aquellas ninfas atendidas y no atendidas por hormigas, lo que sugiere que las hormigas no depredan a D. citri. En una casa de vidrio donde se mantiene una cría masiva de D. citri y su enemigo natural Tamarixia radiata (Waterston) (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae), la pequeña hormiga de fuego Wasmannia auropunctata (Roger) (Hymenoptera: Formicidae), se observó depredando las ninfas (Figs. 1 y 2) y adultos (Fig. 3) de D. citri y causando pérdidas graves al pie de cría. El presente constituye uno de los pocos estudios donde se verifica la depredación de D. citri por hormigas.

Capture histories of wild pigs (Sus scrofa) identified using nuclear DNA markers from hair snare samples activated on the Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge in Mississippi between 2021 and 2022. Hair snares were active for 8 weeks (occassions) with non-grain attractants placed at the center of each snare. Dat includes unique pig identifiers (Pig_ID), capture histories (Capture_Occassion), and associated capture year (Group).
