Abstract:
The development of the commodity programs in the 2008 Farm Bill involved the origination of two complex revenue support initiatives. The two new programs, Average Crop Revenue Election (ACRE) and Supplemental Revenue Assurance (SURE), expanded the risk management tool kit of agricultural producers. The SURE program is a permanent disaster assistance program, whereas the ACRE program is a revenue-based commodity program offered as an alternative to the price-based Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program (DCP) created in the 2002 Farm Bill. For the 2009 signup, only 7.7% of eligible U.S. farms enrolled in the ACRE program. In the southern region, three states had no farms electing ACRE and four others had less than 50. Excluding Oklahoma, less than 1% of all farms in 13 southern states made the ACRE election.

Abstract:
Electricity is an indispensable commodity on which both urban and rural regions heavily rely. Rural areas where the main grid cannot reach make use of distributed energy resources (DER), especially renewable energy sources (RES), in an islanded microgrid. Therefore, it is necessary to make sure there is a sufficient power supply to balance the demand and supply curve and meet people’s demands. The work done in this paper aims to minimize the daily operating cost of the hybrid microgrid while incorporating a demand response strategy built on an incentive-based demand response (IBDR) model. Three case studies were constructed and analyzed to derive the best, most reduced daily operational cost. This was achieved using the CPLEX solver embedded in algebraic modeling language in the Advanced Interactive Multidimensional Modeling Systems (AIMMS) software with multi-agent system (MAS); the MAS was used to make sure that the developed intelligent-based agents work independently to achieve an optimal microgrid system. The sensitivity analysis employed established that case study 2 gave the most reduced daily operation cost (USD 119), which represents an 8% reduction in the daily operational cost from case study 1 and a 9% reduction from case study 3. Then, we achieved 17% and 25% reductions, as compared to specific other approaches.

Abstract:
This research is a cross-Atlantic study of Sure Start and Early Head Start program directors' perceptions of parent involvement in their early intervention programs, with a focus on the provision and take-up of parenting and employability-focused services. The review of the literature, which informed the survey design and the later data chapters, focuses on poverty and parenting, working parents, welfare reform, and early intervention programs, including early childhood education and care policies in England and the United States. Data was collected via an online survey, administered to all those individuals directing either a Sure Start Local Programme (including those that had been designated as Children's Centres) in England or an Early Head Start program in the USA. There was a 40.3% response rate (231 English and 236 American directors, resulting in a total of 467 respondents). The survey questioned directors on their background, and also sought their views of the area in which their program operated, characteristics of their programs and their perceptions of the families accessing the parent-focused services offered by their early intervention program. The resulting data was used to address the primary theme of parenting and employability, drawing associations between reported parent involvement and directors' perceptions of area, program and family characteristics. The findings also led to the establishment of secondary themes: the targeting and catchment area approach to service provision, engaging disadvantaged families, relationships with partner agencies, issues of funding and resources, particularly for staff, and the expansion of Children's Centres. A summary report was sent to all participating directors. It is hoped that this research has benefited program directors, providing insights into the local-level experiences had by their colleagues both within their own country and across the Atlantic, particularly with respect to parent involvement in early intervention programs.

Hastings, Susan Elizabeth. "The role of teachers in Sure Start local programmes." Thesis, University of Leicester, 2008. http://hdl.handle.net/2381/4075.

Full text
Abstract:
Sure Start, the national initiative created in 1998 and implemented through local programmes, sought to improve the life chances of children living in areas of deprivation. Children’s services were to be ‘joined up’ to deliver new and different ways of working. The inclusion of teachers was integral to some programmes, although little research was available to document this. This study sets out to examine how teachers responded to the challenge of promoting babies’, toddlers’ and young children’s learning within a multiagency and community context. It investigates how teachers’ roles were constructed; the nature of their everyday activities, how they responded to multi-agency work; how innovative work arose and what triggered change. Qualitative and ethnographic in nature, the study incorporates empirical evidence from six Sure Start Local Programmes (SSLPs). Research methods were designed to access teachers’ thinking within a situated perspective. In addition to work shadowing and scrutiny of documents, data was gathered from 25 semi-structured interviews with team members, managers and teachers. Three complementary theories of social learning; Activity Theory, Communities of Practice and Professional Craft Knowledge, were brought together to interpret findings. Teachers demonstrated varying levels of participation within SSLPs. Those moving towards full participation had undergone identity transformation, and contributed to the construction of a new practitioner: The Sure Start Teacher. Through engagement in front-line joint work with practitioners from other agencies, expansive learning has occurred and this in turn has stimulated innovative practice. The role of teachers in SSLPs can be described as: exchanging knowledge and skills within a multi-agency team; facilitating intergenerational learning in the locality and providing a pedagogic lead within a framework of joint work with members of the Sure Start community.

Hamm, Patricia. "Constructions of 'gendered agency' : perspectives from a multi-ethnic Sure Start programme." Thesis, Sheffield Hallam University, 2009. http://shura.shu.ac.uk/19749/.

Full text
Abstract:
Theorists such as Anthony Giddens, Ulrich Beck and Elisabeth Beck-Gernsheim have presented an 'individualisation thesis' which states that in our 'de-traditionalised', globalised world of late modernity, identities are now fluid and individual trajectories no longer fixed; as 'reflexive agents', we must choose from an array of lifestyles and assemble our own 'life projects'. This emphasis on active agency is reflected in constructions of welfare users in 'Third Way' and New Labour policy in the UK. Policy discourses depict welfare agents as aspirational and responsible decision-makers, simultaneously downplaying structural differences and presenting 'families' and 'communities' as consensual and motivated by shared interests. Sure Start, an area-based New Labour programme for families with young children can be seen as exemplifying many of these characteristics, and can be viewed also as a 'Third Way' initiative, reflecting in particular, a focus on a 'social investment' perspective. This thesis, based on a study of a Sure Start programme in the multi-ethnic area of Brambleton, considers the extent to which policy and theoretical assumptions about parental agency are reflected in constructions of mothers and professionals. The qualitative case study approach emphasises the contextualisation of findings in 'time' and 'place', in particular depicting Brambleton as a 'racialised space' through which understandings of 'need' and agency are constructed. It explores the social processes through which mothers are able to act in the family, the community and within the Sure Start programme. This is done using an epistemology which combines both constructivism and phenomenology and a theoretical framework that incorporates aspects of Bourdieu's 'theory of practice'. The methodology used includes a focus on the life stories of white and Pakistani mothers, interviews with professionals and a narrative approach to analysis. Research findings suggest that agency should be understood as shaped by identity within the family and through cultural practices. In addition and in a reflection of this, they point to the differential access to and impacts of Sure Start use for white and Pakistani-origin mothers in Brambleton in this period, highlighting the varied 'rationalities for action' that welfare users have. These findings have significant implications both for theoretical models of agency and for policy, in particular, suggesting that policy needs to incorporate a more nuanced understanding of human agency which prioritises a recognition of difference and constraint.

Abstract:
This research is oriented to the exploration of all the qualitative and quantitative information necessary to be able to establish the basic criteria that sustain and support the architectural design of a High-Performance Sports Centre addressed to one of the most outstanding sports in our country. Peru, as a coastal paradise, represents for the world an important focus for the development of water sports and in recent years, the discipline of the Surfing has had an exponential growth placing itself as Latin American capital of the big international competitions and being this a great motivation for the development of a High-Performance Sports Centre and Diffusion of the Surfing. Consequently, this centre would be a milestone, not only on the Peruvian coast but also in Latin America because it would be the only one in the region. We know that the High-Performance Centre is a sports establishment whose purpose is to harbor, train and educate the elite athlete during his training process in order to be able to face international competitions. That is why in the architecture we find a tool to create a balanced environment between controlled training inside sports installations and uncontrolled training under the changing conditions that the sea represents. In other words, this sports centre would be essential to optimise and improve the physical performance of our elite athletes.

Abstract:
At the end of the last century a governmental comprehensive review recognised that changes to children's services in the UK were needed, as existing services were unable to meet the developmental needs of many children particularly those living with disadvantage. Early interventional services and programmes are designed to promote the development of children and research, much of which has been carried out in the USA, has found that the most effective interventions are holistic services able to recognise and meet the needs of communities, families and children. In the UK this knowledge contributed to the creation of Sure Start, a national early interventional programme working to promote the development of children through local agencies set in deprived areas over the whole of the country. This thesis explores the experiences of children and their families using a local Sure Start programme in Wales, and examines the perceived effects of the programme on the development and developmental environment of the children. The descriptive short-term longitudinal cohort investigation was based in Rhondda Cynon Taff Sure Start, a local programme whose services are available for all families with young children who live in the county. Thirty one families from Rhondda Cynon Taff with thirty four children aged between 3-48 months old were recruited to the study, the sample consisted of eight children (25%) from multi-risk families and twenty- six (75%) from lower-risk families. Complete data sets were obtained for 88% of the sample. The developmental progress and the developmental environments of children were measured over the time of service use using well validated, standardised instruments (ASQ, ASQrSE, HOME). Family experiences of service use and perceptions of its effects on participant children were explored by narratives elicited by semi-structured interviews conducted with parents before and after service use. The family experiences also were set within the framework of the Developmental Systems Model for Early Intervention to discover whether this model could be profitably used to direct and evaluate the services provided by a Sure Start Local Programme. The data revealed that lower-risk families were more likely to: use universally available Sure Start activities and services; approach health professionals to request help when child or family problems arose; engage well in and remain in service use. Multi-risk families were more likely to be referred to Rhondda Cynon Taff Sure Start services to meet concerns identified by health and educational professionals, and less likely remain in service use. Inspection of the individual assessments of participant children showed that Rhondda Cynon Taff Sure Start services could be associated with beneficial impacts on the development of many children from lower-risk families. A statistically significant effect on aspects of lower-risk children's home environments was also demonstrated. Service use was found to be less effective for children from multi-risk families; all multi-risk children left service use with persisting developmental delays and no significant effect on the home environment of these families was identified. This study also supported the use of Children's Centres to provide early intervention services: the provision of Sure Start services over the wide geographical area of Rhondda Cynon Taff did not appear to promote universal local knowledge of services, and made use of the full range of services difficult for some families who were not within walking distance of services. Application of the Developmental Systems Model for Early Intervention to the experiences of participant families identified areas where changes to the current practices of Sure Start Local programmes, as illustrated by Rhondda Cynon Taff Sure Start, could be beneficial. The process suggested that adherence to the model's framework may increase the programme's ability to recognise and meet the developmental needs of the service users, and also suggested that changes to the early interventional model could increase its ability to guide the process of effective early interventional services, particularly when working with vulnerable or hard to reach families and children.

Full text
Abstract:
This dissertation was a formative evaluation of the Waves for Change Surf Therapy Programme, and included both a process evaluation and an outcome evaluation. Waves for Change used surfing as a means of engaging children and adolescents thought to be at risk of long-term social exclusion. This engagement was necessary in order to deliver a psychosocial curriculum. Waves for Change aimed to use this curriculum to enhance psychosocial wellbeing and reduce antisocial behaviour, and association with antisocial peers. Five evaluation questions were generated using programme documents and a rapid evidence assessment. These were concerned with whether the programme was capable of enhancing psychosocial wellbeing, and reducing antisocial behaviour and association with antisocial peers. Further, the evaluation wished to determine whether the programme was correctly targeted, and delivered with fidelity. An intention to treat analysis was conducted within a randomised control trial, using 115 primary school students from Masiphumelele, Khayelitsha, and Lavender Hill. Further 88 interviews were conducted with programme beneficiaries, and 15 coaches were submitted to performance review. The programme was found to be suitably targeted, but delivery of the programme was not achieved with fidelity to the programme design. There were a number of reasons for this, including inadequate completion of programme tasks by coaches, and inadequate attendance by children and adolescents. The result was that children and adolescents received less than half of the psychosocial curriculum, and did not show a change on the outcomes of interest. However, this evaluation suggested that the programme is feasible, pending improvements.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Competitive surfing requires athletes to transfer force from their core musculature to maneuver a surfboard successfully with powerful, rotational movements on an unpredictable wave's surface. The purpose of this study was to test athletic performance outcomes in junior elite male surf athletes using a battery of field tests specific to the sport of surfing and determine the effects of a core strength training program (CSTP) on athletic performance outcomes. Nineteen junior elite surf athletes completed a pretest, 8-week CSTP, and posttest of rotational power, lower body power, core strength, core endurance, and rotational flexibility. Means, standard deviations, paired t-tests with a significance of p < 0.05, and effect size was computed. Results demonstrated significant differences in time to peak maximal acceleration, left rotational power, core strength, core endurance, and rotational flexibility. This study concludes implementation of the CSTP enhances athletic performance measurements which is likely to increase overall surfing performance.

Abstract:
This work deals with the creation of a program for calculating the tensile losses of an in-dustrial boiler. The work is divided into four parts. The first part of the thesis deals with a theoretical introduction to the issue of pressure losses. The second part deals with all equations and procedures by which the program was created, as well as the limitations and conditions of using a given type of equation. The third part consists of a sample calculation of pressure loss-es of a real boiler. Furthermore, in the third part, the correctness of the program function is checked, where the measured losses on the real device were compared with the losses calcu-lated by the program. The fourth part deals with the influence of the boiler's parameters on its pressure losses, where the individual losses were graphically represented and compared to determine the sensitivity analysis. The output of this work is a functional program that has been optimized for ease of use and requires almost no knowledge of the user.

Abstract:
AbstractThe termination behavior of probabilistic programs depends on the outcomes of random assignments. Almost sure termination (AST) is concerned with the question whether a program terminates with probability one on all possible inputs. Positive almost sure termination (PAST) focuses on termination in a finite expected number of steps. This paper presents a fully automated approach to the termination analysis of probabilistic while-programs whose guards and expressions are polynomial expressions. As proving (positive) AST is undecidable in general, existing proof rules typically provide sufficient conditions. These conditions mostly involve constraints on supermartingales. We consider four proof rules from the literature and extend these with generalizations of existing proof rules for (P)AST. We automate the resulting set of proof rules by effectively computing asymptotic bounds on polynomials over the program variables. These bounds are used to decide the sufficient conditions – including the constraints on supermartingales – of a proof rule. Our software tool Amber can thus check AST, PAST, as well as their negations for a large class of polynomial probabilistic programs, while carrying out the termination reasoning fully with polynomial witnesses. Experimental results show the merits of our generalized proof rules and demonstrate that Amber can handle probabilistic programs that are out of reach for other state-of-the-art tools.

Abstract:
AbstractGender-responsive breeding is a new approach to making sure modern breeding takes advantage of opportunities to improve gender equality in agriculture. Conventional research on the acceptability of modern varieties has scarcely addressed gender differences during adoption studies. Gender-responsive breeding starts from a different premise that adoption and social impact will be enhanced if gender is addressed at early stages of variety design and priority setting in breeding. However, until recently, there was no concrete way to integrate gender considerations into the practice of breeding. This chapter draws lessons for the future from three RTB breeding programs innovating with gender-responsive breeding with a focus on piloting novel tools. The new G+ tools are designed to help gender researchers and breeders make joint, evidence-based decisions about the significance of gender differences for customer targeting and trait prioritization in variety development. Their piloting in the context of each program’s practice of gender-responsive breeding throws light on some valuable good practices that contributed to successful innovation.

Abstract:
AbstractWe present Probabilistic Total Store Ordering (PTSO) – a probabilistic extension of the classical TSO semantics. For a given (finite-state) program, the operational semantics of PTSO induces an infinite-state Markov chain. We resolve the inherent non-determinism due to process schedulings and memory updates according to given probability distributions. We provide a comprehensive set of results showing the decidability of several properties for PTSO, namely (i) Almost-Sure (Repeated) Reachability: whether a run, starting from a given initial configuration, almost surely visits (resp. almost surely repeatedly visits) a given set of target configurations. (ii) Almost-Never (Repeated) Reachability: whether a run from the initial configuration, almost never visits (resp. almost never repeatedly visits) the target. (iii) Approximate Quantitative (Repeated) Reachability: to approximate, up to an arbitrary degree of precision, the measure of runs that start from the initial configuration and (repeatedly) visit the target. (iv) Expected Average Cost: to approximate, up to an arbitrary degree of precision, the expected average cost of a run from the initial configuration to the target. We derive our results through a nontrivial combination of results from the classical theory of (infinite-state) Markov chains, the theories of decisive and eager Markov chains, specific techniques from combinatorics, as well as, decidability and complexity results for the classical (non-probabilistic) TSO semantics. As far as we know, this is the first work that considers probabilistic verification of programs running on weak memory models.

AbstractOver the past few decades, online, open, and distance education (ODE) has enjoyed phenomenal growth across different regions, and with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, its use has adopted more quickly and widely at all levels of education in both developed and developing countries. There has also been a surge in trans-institutional online courses and programs. Despite this surge in widespread practice of ODE, an image problem that perceives ODE as a second-rate education, indicated by Daniel (Quality assurance and accreditation in distance education and e-learning: Models, policies, and research. Routledge, New York, 2011) a decade ago, still exists, meaning that there is a need for even stronger measures to ensure that ODE is as good as in-person education and that quality assurance (QA) systems are in place as it enters the mainstream of education.Applying QA to ODE processes and outcomes is a relatively new phenomenon. Drawing upon previous literature on quality and QA in ODE, including institutional case studies, this chapter examines various definitions of quality and QA in ODE practice, difficulties, and challenges presented by QA in ODE and the role of stakeholders in QA in ODE. It then discusses how different ODE institutions judge and assure the quality of their courses, programs, and services and what values and assumptions underpin such QA approaches. It finally draws conclusions about what still needs to be considered and actioned.

AbstractRoad safety has come a long way in our lifetimes, and there are steps in this progress that mark their place in history. Many of these were technical innovations, such as seat belts, electronic stability control, and geofencing for vehicle speed control. Also important, though perhaps fewer in number, were innovations in strategies to achieve change. These include the public health model of Dr. William Haddon, the introduction of Vision Zero, the World Report on Road Traffic Injury Prevention from WHO and the World Bank, and more recently, the Decade of Action 2011–2020. I am sure that the work and recommendations presented in this report will deserve their place in a “Hall of Fame” for strategic innovation in saving lives across the globe.

Abstract:
Quality in education is one of the main concerns for governments in order to make sure the students will be able to meet the work power needs of the sector, and be able to get a job that meets their expectations in career when they graduate. In other words, it can be summarized with two words; input quality and output equality. The study aimed to investigate Turkish academics’ perceptions about the quality in higher education in Turkey. The study adopted survey method based on quantitative data. The participants comprised 53 academics from different universities in Turkey, and they were selected randomly on voluntary basis. The data were collected in distance using “The Questionnaire of Academics’ Perceptions of Quality in Higher Education” adapted from Rossner (2008) as a Google Form. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency and percentage. The results revealed that majority of academics in Turkey were in favor for accreditation, they were in the opinion that the curricula content should be designed in accordance with the 21st century skills and market needs, and certified programs should be offered to students in an educational environment where even academics should be observed by field experts to make sure about the quality of educational practices.

Abstract:
The article was prepared on the empirical database of a sociological survey of schoolchildren’s parents in the Novosibirsk region. Re- 184 search tasks included the following: to involve opinion of parents about the ongoing changes in the Russian school system, about the quality of education, opportunities for personal progress in the framework of modern conditions, as well as about future plans and choice of profession. To obtain empirical information, a mixed technique was used: telephone survey (in the urban agglomeration) and traditional with a paper questionnaire (in 2 municipal districts of the region). In total, in 2018–2019 505 questionnaires were collected (data combined into one array). Most of the respondents generally answered well or rather well about the school where their child (or children) study, but very critically appreciated the results of the educational reforms being carried out in the country. At the same time, parents made a request to improve the quality of school education, reduce formalism in the educational process, increase the professionalism of teachers, improve methods, programs, textbooks and organization of the educational process, and they also expressed interest in expanding the areas of additional classes that develop the interests of schoolchildren. The vast majority of parents are sure that in modern Russian society the financial situation of the family is not decisive for the opportunities for the intellectual development of children, and it is also not necessary for this to live in a large city. Much more important, in their opinion, is the ability of the child and his (her) desire to study, as well as the efforts of the family aimed at the development of children, the cultural level and education of parents, as well as the quality of school education.

Abstract:
Because of the specific requirements of the medical profession, it is imperative that doctors-to-be have a wide range of knowledge at their fingertips. In order to facilitate this, most medical programmes employ some kind of overall ready-knowledge test: a test that is not connected to one specific course, but contains questions on all the facts and figures from all the courses in the entire curriculum. The test is generally administered four times a year to all students participating in the program. First year students are required to answer the same questions as fourth year students. However, for first year students the thresh hold for passing the exam is at a lower level. The aim of this progress test is threefold: (1) testing if the knowledge of students is up to par; (2) making sure that students understand that being a medical professional means continuing to have all the knowledge readily available at all times; and (3) changing the way students prepare for a test: not a big cramming session for one test the night before the test happens and then forget about it, but continuously working on keeping knowledge at an acceptable level. This last goal has, however, not been achieved. While students appreciate the test because of the sense of progress it provides them, in a Dutch study into its effects, students widely report that also for this test, they still prepare in cramming sessions. The result is still that the retention level of the ready knowledge is not at the level it should be.Since studies have extensively shown that students enjoy studying in a gamified process more, that they more easily get into 'a flow', and that the retention rates of knowledge acquired during a flow are higher, we propose to attempt to change the way the student prepare for the test by gamifying the process. Gamifying the process neatly matches a feeling of progress that facilitates the control students feel over their studying process and over mastering the material. Rather than losing points for not having questions correct, a student gains levels/XP/avatar strength whenever he/she masters a specific topic, or nails a series of questions on different topics within a specific time frame (‘challenge’), etc. The game mechanics and the design of the gaming world will be two important aspects of this project. A third important aspect will be the distribution of knowledge in the game and the way topics are brought up again, practiced again, or combined with other topics. The algorithm that lie at the basis of that need to be smart, adaptive and non-repetitive. A final important aspect of this process concerns the question of how to make playing this game part of the social life of students (battles on Friday afternoon for instance, or leader boards in the hallway). As mentioned above: Research indicates that gamification has a positive effect on retention and on commitment. If we then also manage to embed the game in a social setting, it can be truly called a “stealing their beer time”-type of intervention: moments that they would normally chill out and have a beer with their peers have now turned into moments where they still chill out, maybe still have a beer, but also study. We would like to share our ideas and invite partners of other programs (not necessarily medical) to join in our quest to build an overall knowledge assessment game in a modular way.

Abstract:
Abstract As a part of the company's digitalization project, the Well Delivery Process (WDP) software solution was successfully developed and launched in early 2021. By using this solution, engineers benefit from the project objectives like process standardization, well design quality, and well planning cycle time reduction. The WDP software consists of a series of integrated well delivery workflows including well design, drilling execution monitoring, and closeout reports within a single cloud-based platform. The system also provides users with many automation features such as well design rules validation, offset well analysis, risk analysis, automated calculations, and digital reports (drilling programs). Through this paper, we share our experiences and observations on the system development and implementation, and also challenges and limitations that we faced to roll it out successfully. In our conventional practices before the digital transformation, drilling engineers had their individual practices/formats to perform the well delivery process using various applications and techniques. Computer applications were used to generate and compile a drilling program, but there was no standard way of performing this process. In situations where the design parameters and/or subsurface information change, engineers should have repeated the entire process to revise the design and/or the drilling program manually. To standardize the process, minimize repetitive tasks, and provide engineers with all required digital tools, the first solution (a prototype computer program) was developed in-house to prove the concept. After multiple peer reviews and trials, we used the prototype program to specify user requirements for generating the WDP software solution. An agile methodology was utilized to engage all drilling engineers in each sprint of the WDP development phase to ensure that their requirements are fulfilled. Upon completion of the development phase, a comprehensive User Acceptance Test (UAT) was conducted followed by training sessions before the cut-off date for switching from the manual process to the WDP digital workflow. Switching from existing practice to a new way of work is always challenging especially when it comes to introducing new software. There was some resistance at the start-up period due to users' unfamiliarity with the software and also software bugs that were not found during testing periods and UAT. A support team was set up to ensure immediate action on users' requirements and any technical issues with the software. During the challenging transition period, all users were fully supported until make sure they are enough familiar with the system to complete the task effectively. The support team deployed hotfixes (bug fixing) as quickly as possible with no major impact on the drilling programs' timeline, monitored the system performance on daily basis, and gathered feedback for further improvements. At present, the WDP is the primary system used by all drilling engineers in the company's domestic assets as an integrated end-to-end well delivery workflow that provides an improved design quality in a shorter planning time. More than 200 well design workflows have been initiated and approved through the system since it is being used. Based on the recent users' satisfaction survey and feedback, an overall rating of 4.2 from 5 shows the WDP solution's effectiveness with many popular and useful features especially offset well analyzer and well design dashboards. As one of the first end-to-end workflow generations in the drilling engineering process, the WDP could save the working time up to 35-40% (voted by users) through a centralized dataset platform and its holistic approach to process standardization/automation. Besides design quality and cycle time improvement, the system also enables advanced data analytics for further automation and enhancements.

Abstract:
Achieving Sustainable Development Goals requires the inclusion of the most vulnerable people affected by intersecting inequalities. Inclusion is an approach and objective that serves to counter structural discrimination and enable affected people and communities to withstand the causes and impacts of crises. Recognising the need to address this issue, the UK government has sought to implement a range of commitments relating to inclusion in its programme and policy responses to crises. The K4D Inclusion in Crises Learning Journey has played a key role in supporting reflection on the opportunities and challenges for operationalising these commitments and equipping participants with the tools needed to make sure programmes can deliver high impact results, improving the lives and wellbeing of people who are marginalised and crisis-affected.
