Abstract:
Super-leadership is part of an approach called ‘empowering leadership.‘ Within this approach, super-leadership is assumed to enable subordinates to lead themselves. The current study examined correlates of super-leadership. A questionnaire measuring two dimensions of super-leadership was used to analyze relationships between super-leadership and subordinates' work enjoyment, i.e., job satisfaction, subjective well-being, and emotional organizational commitment. In addition, moderating effects of the organizational context, i.e., organizational decentralization, on the relationships between super-leadership and work enjoyment were explored. 198 German employees from different occupations participated in the study. Latent moderator structural equation analysis revealed that the two factors of super-leadership, “coaching and communicative support” and “facilitation of personal autonomy and responsibility,” had direct positive effects on subordinates' work enjoyment. Organizational decentralization moderated the effect of “coaching and communicative support” on work enjoyment but not the relations involving “facilitation of personal autonomy and responsibility.” Conclusions for further research and practical applications were discussed.

Abstract:
PurposeThis paper examines the relevance of the wicked problem continuum, particularly the emergence of super wicked challenges for public leadership researchers. Contemporary theorizing on public leadership adequately deals with tame challenges, struggles with wicked problems and remains in the dark with regards to the implications of super wicked problemsDesign/methodology/approachThe wicked problem continuum provides a typology or set of dilemmas running from tame to wicked through to super wicked problems. These different problem types are treated as if they were on a three-zone continuum in which the difficulty of solving or substantially reducing the problem varies from relatively low to very high.FindingsWe delineate the three-problem contexts in the wicked problem continuum and discuss the ideal type of organization thriving in each zone. We then posit two opposing wicked problem interpretations-taming and wilding- for those interested in public leadership. Taming calls for prudent, results-oriented leaders employing tried and tested practices. Wilding demands leaders who test the status quo by seeking alternatives.Social implicationsOn the global leadership agenda, wilding problems—those calling attention to the super wicked zone—are escalating. Despite this, public leaders' training lacks a framework for making sense of these urgent and publicly contentious super wicked problems.Originality/valuePublic policy researchers are beginning to direct attention to super wicked problems such as climate change, and pandemics. This work introduces the wicked problem continuum and demonstrates its pertinence for researchers of public leadership.

Abstract:

The meaning of the word leadership is changing over time, and so is the role of the leader. Organisational labour is today required to be more self-governing as organisational tasks are moving towards a more flexible and independent nature. This requires a leadership able to inspire and motivate independent performance by acting as an inspirational mentor or coach (Bass and Riggio (2005). Those leaders and that style of leadership have many names, but in our research they are titled as Transformational and Charismatic leaders, as well as Super Leaders. Perhaps they are best described by using Vardiman et al (2006:97) own words: “the most effective leaders teach others to be effective leaders of themselves and others."

Identifying, selecting and recruiting the right leader are a competitive advantage and an important success factor (Fernández-Aráoz et al, 2009). The objective of this thesis is therefore to gain knowledge in the manners present when charismatic and inspirational leaders with the ability to lead others to lead themselves are identified, recruited and selected. We judge gaining understanding in how to identify, attract, select, recruit and keep leaders with this special leadership style as a vital knowledge in today’s highly competitive business world.

This thesis approaches leader recruitment from both an external and internal perspective by conveying dialogues with recruitment consultants as well as with a HR-manager. The thesis further raises the question whether the inspirational and charismatic leadership style is appropriate in all type of organisations and here focus on organisational culture as a key determinant when recruiting leaders.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to discover whether learning garden programs increase access to locally grown foods and successfully empower and include food insecure populations. This study examined the Oregon Food Bank's Seed to Supper program which situates garden-based learning in food insecure communities. Through a mixed-methods community-based research process, this study found that community building, learner empowerment and sustainability leadership in place-based learning garden programs increased access to locally grown foods for food insecure populations. When food insecure populations participated in these learning garden programs they often engaged in practices described in the literature as the "web of inclusion" (Helgesen, 1995). When food insecure populations were engaged in these practices, participation in food democracy and food justice increased. Additionally, participation in learning gardens led to sustainability leadership and increased access to food literacy, which led to greater community health and engaged, local community food systems.

The object of this research is to explore the effectiveness of Super Skills lessons in a small group model. Data were collected during small group instruction. The research took one and a half years, which consists of three semesters. There are twelve small group activities in each semester, and thirty-six activities in total. There are seven students included in this study, six of them are diagnosed with Asperger’s syndromes and one with high functioning autism. The research methods included observation, interview process, and questionnaires. The children learn appropriate social skills thru nine steps in Super Skills lessons. The results are the following: 1. Application of Interpersonal needs theory, Social exchange theory, and Drama therapy theory can explain challenges these subjects face during social interaction. 2. Incorporating “Applied Behavior Analysis "and" Cognitive Behavioral Modification "and" floor time " activities are beneficial for the students. 3. Super Skills lessons provide structural and systemic steps, along with precise checklist, which are feasible for teachers to implement instructions and to communicate with parents. This is a applicable teaching model to help students learning social skills. 4. Thru interviewing parents and observing children’s behaviors, it reveals that in this study, children with AS and HFA showed improvement in interpersonal reaction and social skills. 5. Upon reflection, the researcher turns from teacher-centered to student-centered attitude. The following suggestions are for the future Super Skills group leaders: a) Small group leader must keep a positive attitude and provide errorless learning experiences to improve students’ behaviors. b) Instructors must be familiar with the materials, avoid the constraint of the preset framework and keep the lesson flexible and dynamic. They should adjust their instructions according to the interaction with the students. c) To be more effective lessons in this group exercises, team work and counseling should be included. Keywords: Super Skills, social skills group learning model, small group leader, teaching reflection.

The study attempts to explore how job satisfaction, the manager’s leadership style, job characteristics, and personal traits affect the employee’s turnover tendency. This analysis takes the Super Large Accounting Firms in Taiwan as the sample of case study. The response rate of the distributed questionnaire is 34.17%. The result indicates that external job satisfaction, the consideration dimension of the manager’s leadership style and of external locus of control of the person trait has a significant impact on employee''s turnover intention. In addition, job characteristics (job cooperation and job feed-back) have an apparent influence on employees’ turnover tendency. However, this study finds that in itiating structure dimension, internal job satisfaction and job characteristics (job skills, job independence and job integrity) don’t have significant effect on the employees’ turnover intention. The result of this study showed that employees’ turnover intention would be affected considerably with the consideration dimension of the manager’s leadership style, external job satisfaction, job cooperation decrease mployees’ turnover intention will significantly increase when his/her personal traits belong to the external locus of control, and vice versa. Under some circumstances, job satisfaction has an intermediate impact on the manager’s leadership, job characteristics, personality traits and turnover intention. The findings of this study provide a reference to the Super Large Accounting Firms for their recruitment and preservation policies.

Abstract:
Having individual occupation to produce work and to be effective is necessary for individuals. Concurrently, society desires to respond to social expectancies while meeting this need. Vocation, as both social and individual needs, expands people's lifetimes. This rate is even higher in developing countries than in economically developed European and North American countries. Therefore, career choice is important to meet individual happiness as well as addressing social expectations. Choosing vocation carefully has been addressed by many different theories (Parsons, Super; Holland, and Krumboltz). While these theories comprehensively examine the importance of the theoretical knowledge on the career choice, age, personality, ability, and gender roles are significant affecting factors. Solutions and recommendations based on avoiding stress, culture-infused career counseling, avoiding negative thinking, and using family tree into career counseling are additionally provided.

Abstract:
This chapter revises two important critical pedagogy concepts—cultural competence and critical consciousness—so they make meaning in early childhood educational contexts. Cultural psychology theories are used to re-conceptualize these terms from a non-Euro-centric perspective to emphasize that children's holistic development is nuanced particularly by the communities that they develop within. These terms are also examined from a critical pedagogical context of “super-diversity” through a discussion on identity and community cultural wealth to broach the idea that sites of early childhood education must serve as spaces that give agency and empowerment, given the trans-migratory world we live in. Further, Derman-Sparks and Edwards' conception of anti-bias education is demonstrated in the use of Persona Dolls, specifically for pedagogical leadership, in instructional settings as a way to broach critical pedagogy. Finally, some strategies for pedagogical leadership are suggested.

Abstract:
This chapter examines Saladin’s religious personality, policy, and image, highlighting his piety and his reputation as a holy warrior. The charismatic personality of Saladin, the great Ayyūbid sultan, still fascinates historians — as it impressed his contemporaries, friend and Crusader enemy alike — and all the Orientalists who have studied the period have concerned themselves with the question of Saladin’s religious devotion. For a superb statesman and political leader like Saladin, the main thing that matters is his public image, and this is also the only subject upon which there is reliable and solid evidence. Saladin not only succeeded in bringing Egypt back to the Sunnī–ʻAbbāsid fold after two centuries of Fāṭimid rule; he also created a superstructure of Islamic institutions and an atmosphere of vigorous Sunnī Islam, sure of itself and therefore reasonably tolerant of the religious minorities. It can be asserted that Maimonides’ rather sympathetic view of Islam, and the extent that it is so, owes much to the fact that he met Islam in Egypt at its best, in large measure because of Saladin’s dynamic leadership and vision.

Abstract:
Study of weld metal and shell metal of VVER-1000 reactor is carried out. Metal of the control welded joint performed to the welds Nos. 3 and 4 and metal of the test ring of supporting shell is used. For each of the analyzed materials the bending tests of Charpy specimens are carried out according to the surveillance specimens testing procedure. Fabrication of specimens and all the tests are performed by TK “OMZ Izhora”, ltd. Leadership of the tests and assessment of brittle-to-ductile transition temperature is performed by RRC “Kurchatov Institute”. It is shown that guaranteed values of brittle-to-ductile transition temperature (TK0) for VVER-1000 pressure vessel materials (0°C for weld and −25°C for base metal [1]) are the conservative estimation of TK values obtained for all groups of the tested specimens. However in some cases such estimation is super conservative. Assessment of distribution of brittle-to-ductile transition temperature (TK) values of the weld in radial direction has shown that TK varies from layer to layer in the range from −55 to −22°C. Variations of TK values are conceivably random and not connected with changes of the chemical composition of metal. It is shown that the situation is possible when brittle-to-ductile transition temperature of “inner grooving” weld metal is higher than that of the “outer grooving” weld metal. This result should be taken into account when planning the surveillance specimens programmes. Metal of “inner grooving” should be included in surveillance specimens. While assessing the TK values distribution in axial direction it has been determined that the maximum brittle-to-ductile transition temperature is specific for the area adjacent to the line of weld-to-base metal alloying. This effect is stably observed already at a distance of 8 mm from the alloying line. Study of distribution of TK values of supporting shell metal has shown that for the analyzed supporting shell the maximum brittle-to-ductile transition temperature value corresponds to the inner side of the shell middle third, the minimum value — to the shell inner surface. On the whole, shell metal is characterized by rather low values of brittle-to-ductile transition temperature.
