Målsetningen med denne oppgaven er å styrke endringsagenter sine forutsetninger for å fremme sunne omstillingsprosesser. Den tar utgangspunkt i råd fra forskningsprosjektet Sunne omstillingsprosesser. Prosjektet har vist at innsikt i normer, et hensyn til mangfold, lederes tilgjengelighet, konstruktiv konflikthåndtering og tidlig rolleavklaring er betydningsfullt for en sunn omstillingsprosess. Med dette utgangspunktet redegjør oppgaven for menneskelige forutsetninger som kan svekke rådenes praktiske nytteverdi. Oppgaven bygger på et aksjonsvitenskapelig rammeverk, som synliggjør avviket mellom kunnskap og ferdighetene mennesker benytter i praksis. Skillet tilsvarer avviket mellom uttrykt teori og bruksteori. Aksjonsvitenskap har redegjort for ubevisste kognitive og kommunikative ferdigheter, som svekker individets og organisasjonens muligheter for læring. Ferdighetene er benevnt modell I bruksteori. Oppgaven drøfter hvordan modell I kan svekke anvendeligheten av råd fra Sunne omstillingsprosesser, og hvordan en alternativ bruksteori, modell II, kan kompensere for dette. Oppgaven belyser hvordan intervensjoner for å fremme modell II ferdigheter kan styrke arbeidet med å gjennomføre sunne omstillingsprosesser.

In questa tesi abbiamo analizzato i comportamenti dell'algoritmo Sunny andando a modificare il metodo di scelta delle feature, principalmente passando da un approccio sequenziale ad uno casuale. Abbiamo implementato e confrontato 3 tecniche oltre a quella di partenza: -randk: sfrutta un approccio puramente casuale per il calcolo delle n feature e della k. -simann: sfrutta la tecnica di ottimizzazione di simulated annealing per calcolare le n feature e il valore di k. -simann-mod: come simann, ma utilizza parametri diversi per il calcolo. All'interno di questa tesi troviamo i risultati dell'esperimento e i vantaggi che si possono avere nell'utilizzo di una tecnica che non visita tutte le possibili soluzioni, ma solamente un numero ridotto di esse.

Projektarbetet omfattar ämnena projektplanering, byggteknik samt konstruktion.Rapporten innehåller ett nytt förslag hur man kan bygga en helt ny affärslokal. Genom förslaget löser man bristen på affärsutrymme samt parkering för Ica Sunne som vill utveckla sin verksamhet. Detta projektarbete är ett led i ”handel på lika villkor” eftersom andra butiker i centrum har parkering i närheten av sin butik. Att behålla affärsverksamheten ICA i centrala Sunne är viktigt för hela centrumverksamheten. I projektarbetet ingår forskning och intervjuer som sammanställts till en färdig arkitektritning efter verksamhetens krav och modell över en ny affärslokal med lägenheter på våning två och tre samt utformning av parkeringsplatser. Exteriören är av vikt då den skall överensstämma med befintlig byggnadsmiljö och omgivande byggnader. Målet är att på sikt försöka genomföra denna byggnation.
The project work includes project planning, structural engineering and construction. The report contains a new proposal of how to build a completely new business premises. The proposal solves the lack of commercial space and parking for Ica Sunne who wants to develop their business. This project is part of "fair trading" because other shops in the centre have parking near their stores. It is impotrant for the whole centre that ICA maintain their business operations in central Sunne. The project work includes research and interviews compiled into a final architectural drawings for the business requirements and the model of a new commercial building with apartments on the second and third floor and the design of new parking lots. The exterior is of importance since it must comply with the existing built environment. The goal is to eventually try to implement this project.

Tyrimo tikslas - išanalizuoti sergančiųjų stambiųjų sąnarių ligomis gyvenimo kokybės sąsajas su ligos sunkumo rodikliais (skausmu, judėjimo apribojimu). Gyvenimo kokybei įvertinti tyrime buvo naudotas klausimynas, parengtas Pasaulio sveikatos organizacijos Gyvenimo kokybės (WHOQOL-100) klausimyno pagrindu ir adaptuotas A.Goštauto (Kauno VDU Psichologijos katedra) ir N.Goštautaitės Midttun (Vilniaus Universiteto psichiatrijos katedra, 2000), judrumui įvertinti buvo naudota Barthel skalė ir skausmo intensyvumo įvertinimui - žodinė skausmo skalė. Tyrimo metu buvo ištirti 90 sergančiųjų stambiųjų sąnarių ligomis, Abromiškių reabilitacinės ligoninės pacientų: 57 vyrai ir 33 moterys. Gauti rezultatai parodė, kad aukščiausios fizinės, socialinių santykių ir nepriklausomumo sričių gyvenimo kokybės dominantės yra tarp tų vyrų ir moterų, sergančių sąnarių ligomis, kurių ligos sunkumas yra lengvas. Menkesnis vertinimas yra tarp vyrų ir moterų, kurių ligos sunkumas vidutinis ir žemiausios aukščiau paminėtų sričių dominantės yra tarp vyrų ir moterų, kurių ligos sunkumas didžiausias. Psichologinėje srityje gyvenimo kokybę geriausiai įvertino vyrai ir moterys, kurių ligos sunkumas yra lengvas, prasčiau vyrai ir moterys, kurių ligos sunkumas didžiausias. Žemiausia psichologinės srities gyvenimo kokybės dominantė yra tarp tų vyrų ir moterų, kurių ligos sunkumas vidutinis. The purpose of the work was to analyze the links of life quality of the persons, who have diseases of large joints, with the indexes of disease’s gravity (pain, limited mobility). In order to assess the life quality the questionnaire was used for the research, which was prepared on the basis of the questionnaire of World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL – 100) and adapted by A. Goštautas (Kaunas VMU Department of Psychology) and N. Goštautaite - Midttun (Vilnius University, Department of Psychiatry, 2000). In order to assess the mobility the Barthel scale was used, while the intensity of pain was assessed with the help of verbal pain scale. During the research 90 patients with the diseases of large joints in Abromiskes rehabilitation hospital were examined: 57 men and 33 women. According to the results, the biggest dominants of the life quality in the physical area, area of social relations and independence are among the men and women, whose degree of the disease of large joints is light. Lower evaluation is encountered among men and women with moderate gravity of the disease, and the lowest evaluation in the aforementioned areas is seen among men and women, whose degree of the disease is heavy. The men and women, whose degree of the disease is light, evaluated the life quality in the psychological area the best, and the ones, whose disease is the most grave, evaluated the life quality worse. Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur storkommunreformen 1952 genomfördes i dåvarande Sunne landskommun, Västra Ämtervik, Östra Ämtervik och Sunne köping. Sammanslagningen undersöks utefter två konfliktlinjer som uppstod under 1947-1951. Den ena konfliktlinjen gäller relationen mellan de tre kommunerna och köpingen. Den andra konfliktlinjen belyser kommunernas process gentemot staten. Undersökningen är utformad som textanalys av kommunala handlingar och tidningsartiklar från läns- och lokaltidningen. Metoden är att gå igenom materialet utifrån en induktiv process och i den slutgiltiga analysen följa en deduktiv process gentemot hypoteser mot materialet. Utifrån forskningsläget byggs tre teoretiska ansatser upp som utgör grunden i denna analys och diskussion. I undersökningens analysdel sker en genomgång av materialet med de tre teoretiska ansatserna. Uppsatsens disposition i separata analys- och diskussionskapitel innebär att analyskapitlet är det renodlade resultatet av att läsa källmaterialet med teoretiska glasögon. I uppsatsens diskussions- och slutsatskapitel besvaras forskningsfrågorna, hypoteserna diskuteras och personliga reflektioner lyfts fram. I uppsatsen konstateras att konflikter fanns mellan landskommunerna och Sunne köping. Sunne landskommun var inbegripen i två konflikter med köpingen gällande infrastruktur och inkorporeringar. Konsensus mellan landskommunerna rådde i konflikten gentemot staten, särskilt när beslutet om sammanslagning blev definitivt. Uppsatsen visar också att det fanns en stark känsla av det mångfacetterade begreppet lokal identitet. Den lokala identiteten används både retoriskt och som sakargument, men blir mer framträdande ju närmare det yttre hotet om sammanslagning kommer.
The purpose of this essay is to investigate how the Swedish municipality reform of 1952 was performed in, of that time, the parish municipalities of Sunne, Västra Ämtervik, Östra Ämtervik and Sunne borough. The investigation is based upon two lines of conflict which emerged during 1947-1951. The first conflict is the relation between the three municipalities and the borough. The second conflict is the relation between the municipalities towards the state. The scientific method used is textual analysis of municipality documents and articles from the regional and local newspaper. Further, the method is to use an inductive view on the source material, followed by a deductive view in the final analysis and discussion. With the help of earlier research, three theoretical concepts are formed for use as foundation in the analysis. The thesis’ disposition in separate chapters for analysis and conclusion means the analytical chapter is the result of reading the source material using the three theoretical concepts as eyeglasses. Answers to the essays scientific questions, discussion of hypotheses and personal reflections are covered in the chapter of discussion and conclusion. The essay confirms conflict between the municipalities and the borough. Sunne (the parish) had two running conflicts with the borough regarding infrastructure and the boroughs’ take-over of territory. However, consensus prevailed between the municipalities towards the state, especially when the outer threat of merge became real. The essay also confirms a strong presence of ”local identity”, a concept defined in the essay. This local identity is used both as factual arguments and rhetorics, though it changes shape during the course of the merger.

Abstract:
The foetus and its legal status in Sunni Islamic law constitute the topic of this thesis. This topic was chosen due to two main reasons. First, it is a topic of great social relevance, particularly with regards to the issues of abortion, ensoulment and foetal rights. Second, it is a topic that has received scant scholarly attention. Indeed, we find that many scholars deal with issues related to the foetus such as inheritance, bequests and blood-money inter alia in their discussions of such issues. We do not find a work concentrating solely on the foetus, thereby gathering many rulings concerning it in a single oeuvre. Hence, given the current state of scholarship as well as the social relevance of the rulings concerning the foetus, this topic was chosen as the main theme of this thesis.
This thesis explores the different tools utilized by jurists to arrive at these rulings. It tackles the issues of conception, ensoulment, abortion and gestation before proceeding to the rulings concerning the foetus' parentage, inheritance and blood-money. In doing so, it resorts to fiqh books from the four Sunni schools of law. It argues that the foetus was recognized as a "person" under the law and that great effort was extended towards securing many rights in its favour.

Abstract:
This dissertation studies the evolving relationship of the early 'Abbasid caliphs with the proto-Sunni 'ulama'. By the time of Harun al-Rashid, the 'Abbasids had aligned themselves with the emergent proto-Sunnitrends; a pattern of state - 'ulama' relations, with the caliph's view of his function approaching that of the 'ulama ', had begun to emerge. al-Ma'mun was uncharacteristic of the early 'Abbasids in claiming religious authority for himself, apparently to challenge the 'ulama's influence and authority. That effort proved abortive, and confirmed in its failure the earlier pattern of state - 'ulama' relations. The pattern was one of collaboration between the caliphs and the 'ulama'. Proto-Sunni scholars were among the beneficiaries of extensive caliphal patronage, and it was their viewpoints which caliphal interventions in religious life upheld. Owing perhaps to the effects of 'Abbasid patronage, but also to the implications of certain proto-Sunni viewpoints, proto-Sunnis were generally favourable towards the 'Abbasids. A convergence is discernible in the interests of the Caliphs and the 'ulama', and partly explains not only the latter's pro-'Abbasid sentiment but also why it was the proto-Sunni viewpoints that the 'Abbasids came to patronize.

Abstract:
This dissertation has two aims. The first is to contribute toward our knowledge of changes in contemporary Anatolia in a coherent way, the second to provide the first systematic ethnographic account of the Alevi, a Shiite minority living in rural Turkey. From March 1988 until November 1989, I conducted fieldwork in a sub-province in the north-eastern part of central Anatolia, and returned for a brief visit in August 1990. The population of the sub-province is approximately 70,000; about 12,000 live in the only town, the remainder dispersed among 96 villages. I lived in one village but made frequent visits to others, and to the town. The people are Muslim, divided into two sects, Alevi and Sunni. 74 villages are Sunni and 20 Alevi, 2 villages contain both Alevi and Sunni. The town I estimare to be 90 per cent Sunni. The finding which I discuss in my dissertation is that the Sunni villages are more successful than the Alevi villages at moving into the modern world. More specifically, though most Sunni villages are declining in size, some are growing larger, and even turning into small towns. In striking and direct contrast to this, all the Alevi villages are losing population, so much so that the total Alevi population of the sub-province has diminished by more than half over the years 1980-1990. Similarly, whilst most Sunni men continue to confirm their faith, many Alevi men are becoming sceptical, some even doubting the existence of God. The model which I use to account for these findings suggests that the social order within the Sunni villages is compatible with being absorbed gradually into the national, centralised administrative system. In contrast to this, traditional Alevi culture is based on the idea that they have offered submission to an authority which is not that of the central government, but another which lies outside the jurisdiction of the central state. As the Alevi internalise their membership of modem Turkey, the right to solve disputes becomes transferred from indigenous mediators, whose position is supported by the traditional myths, to figures whose authority is sanctioned by central government. In addition, the Alevi settlements are much smaller than the Sunni; a number of them together are declared a village by the state, causing conflicts of loyalty, ownership and identity within their communities. In short, the dispersed nature of Alevi traditional settlement patterns and their uneasy relationship with central authority means that their communities cannot become part of modern Turkey without undergoing fatal disruption. In spite of the great upheavals in their communities, the Alevi do not become violent. Rather, their religion, which might be described as 'Shi'ite mystical Islam', loses it force as an instrument of social control, and, fused with Kemalism, becomes a secular humanitarian ethic by which they can lead their lives in the cities.

Abstract:
This thesis addresses the lack of scholarly attention devoted to African American Sunni women by examining how they use collective memory to negotiate embodied agency. Through an analysis of African American Sunni women’s narratives of testifying conversion, and vignettes from diaries and interviews, I show how African American Sunni women utilize racial, religious, and spiritual memory in the form of ritual practices and Islamic texts to multiply construct their bodies, and how this construction allows them to enact multimodal and nomadic forms of agency. A contextual analysis also illustrates how environment and interpretation (tafsir) further mobilizes forms of agency, articulating a need for flexibility in regard to the concept of embodied agency and challenging the dichotomy prevalent in Western and Eurocentric conceptions of liberatory agency.

Historical control of the thermal environment was a deeply cultural activity: fireplaces distributed throughout buildings needed to be fed to keep burning, drafts needed to be stopped by hanging heavy tapestries. The industrial revolution filled the air with toxic exhaust, but modernist architects promised to seal the building envelope hermetically, keeping dirty air at bay. Thermal control came to depend on the very same centralized technologies responsible for the toxic storm outside. Pumping climates throughout a building from centralized machine rooms turned the modernist building into a human vivarium: a glass box containing a strange, displaced performance of life in some consistently tempered time and place. Industrialized city-dwellers no longer seek refuge from the outside air, and the vivarium's appetite for energy has proven more than we can sustainably produce. The design project imagines shifts in attitude for architecture after the vivarium. It is a rhetorical project which proposes three main avenues of change from contemporary assumptions. First, it envisions space in which valuable "waste" heat from exhaust, occupants' bodies, and appliances is harvested to provide imperfect and limited thermal control. Secondly, it suggests cultural shifts in clothing, activity levels, and space use that would fluctuate according to season and the availability of thermal controls. Thirdly, it proposes an attitude towards the building skin which eliminates glass in favor of a greyer zone of thermal division between indoors and out. Together these strategies replace centralized and resource-hungry mechanical climate systems with a new kind of cultural acclimatization. The resulting building embraces thermal control as a new kind of luxury good: a problem worthy not only of technical concern, but also of cultural interest.

This thesis is an analytical exploration of the influence of medieval theology on contemporary scholastic traditionalist polemics within Sunni Islam. Intra-Sunni sectarian polemics as an emerging area of study is relatively untouched as opposed to sectarian violence. A detailed mapping of the theological terrain from the genesis of Sunni ‘orthodoxy’ and the perennial tensions within the classical theological tradition and how they have manifested parochially into the contemporary scholastic traditionalist trends of the Barelwi, Deobandi, Ahl-i-Ḥadīth and Wahhābī within the backdrop of the Sufi-Salafi contestation of Sunni authenticity is timely. Concern regarding growing extremism prompted Muslim Ulama, academics and political leaders to create unity initiatives such as the Amman Message and the Sunni Pledge in dealing with this problem and also delineating ‘orthodoxy’. The theological basis for these neo-credos can be explained as doctrinal ‘minimalism’. Minimalism is a growing social construction of scholastic traditionalists through which the warring factions are attempting to salvage the historical continuity with ‘orthodoxy’ and placate Sunni infighting. The thesis aims to examine the theological veracity of the minimalism project and explore its doctrinal, methodological and ethical facets. Polemicism and excommunication is the current state of affairs within Sunni theological discourse. Minimalism is deemed as the antidote to this problem.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine a major segment of Islamic international relations theory as expounded by Sunni jurists of the classical period of the Islamic Fiqh (661-1258 AD). It consists of that portion which is concerned with peaceful relations as distinct from that other major segment which is about Jihad or Islamic warfare. The thought of Muslim scholars on this topic provides a major part of an ideal model for political life under Islam, and its appeal has continued to exert a strong influence on the lives and thoughts of all Muslims throughout the centuries. Within this segment of Islamic international relations theory attention is focused on the key concepts of treaties, including alliance, and neutral status. One part of this is, however, omitted. It is what in Western political philosophy would be called private (not public) relations, and which in an Islamic classical Fiqh context - where the private/public distinction, it will be argued, is absent - can be termed social relations. The argument put forward will be that Islamic international relations are the totality of relations between Muslims and non-Muslims, and never relations between Muslims. Islamic law, it will be argued, governs this relationship, ensuring Islamic international relations theory is essentially normative. The thesis will further suggest that Muslim relations with non-Muslims are fundamentally pacific, not hostile, if the legitimate purposes of Jihad are properly assessed. The thesis will also be concerned to assess the extent to which peaceable Muslim relations with non-Muslims can be organised through the different forms of treaty which are recognised in classical Sunni Fiqh. It will be argued that the anti-Iraq coalition alliance of 1990-91 fulfilled the conditions of a genuine Islamic alliance treaty, contrary to the view of numerous contemporary Muslim scholars and publicists. Finally, it will be argued that neutrality, as well as neutralisation, were possible during the period of classical Sunni Fiqh.

Abstract:
Decisionmakers in organizations like the Department of Defense and the State Department rely on accurate information to develop strategies to engage foreign populations. There is gap in understanding how perceptions are formed in religious adherents, specifically understanding how Muslims determine if violence is an acceptable or unacceptable behavior. Informed by Hobföll's conservation of resources theory of stress, the purpose of this case study was to identify and understand the religious and secular factors that influenced a group of Sunni Muslims in Western Michigan to accept or reject violent behaviors. Research questions focused on how this population's perception of violence was influenced by religion, various sources of information and threats of loss. Convenience sampling was used to identify the participants for this study. Data were collected from face-to-face interviews with 10 Sunni Muslims living in Western Michigan. The interviews were recorded, transcribed and the data were inductively coded and examined to identify trends in the information. While identity and religion were important to understanding how Muslims view the acceptability of violence, perceptions of the justice system's effectiveness also emerged as an important factor in understanding an individual's tolerance for violent behaviors. The results of this study may contribute to positive social change by informing leaders who engage large Muslim populations about how perceptions of identity and justice system efficacy impact the acceptability of violent behaviors.

The objective of the study is to investigate the total antioxidative capacity of plasma and the level of survival of non-activated neutrophilic leucocytes in peripheral venous blood, their oxidative function and its changes when activated by non-opsonised E.coli and S.aureus, exposed to glucose and investigate the effect of glycosylated haemoglobin (HbA1c%) of different concentrations, using the methods of luminol- and liucigenin-dependent chemiluminescence, with respect to the patients suffering from type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM) and a severe form of periodontitis, as well as those who suffer from type 1 diabetes mellitus, but have healthy periodontal tissues, and also persons without systemic diseases and inflammatory periodontal diseases. An integrated investigation of the level of oxidative capacity of neutrophilic leucocytes in peripheral venous blood, using the methods of luminol- and liucigenin-dependent chemiluminescence, of the patients who suffer from type 1 diabetes mellitus and a severe form of periodontitis as well as persons suffering from type 1 diabetes mellitus, but with no inflammatory periodontal disease, and also healthy persons, has been performed for the first time. A new presumption has been presented on the basis of the collected material, which states that the development of inflammatory diseases of periodontal tissues is determined by the decreased level of survival of bactericidal myeloperoxidase system of neutrophilic leucocytes.

Há alguns anos, ocorreram mudanças importantes com o objetivo de melhorar o sistema de ensino universitário no Peru. Um dos factos mais relevantes desse processo foi a aprovação da Lei Universitária N.º 30220, e a criação da 'Superintendência Nacional de Ensino Superior' (SUNEDU, em espanhol) em 2014. O objetivo desta reforma é aprimorar continuamente a qualidade da educação universitária e alcançar o licenciamento de todas as instituições. No entanto, a princípio, as atividades realizadas pela SUNEDU foram questionadas por alguns sectores do Peru. Cinco anos depois e com os primeiros resultados, a perceção dos atores envolvidos mudou, e a opinião pública sobre a SUNEDU, hoje, é bastante favorável. Entretanto, vale a pena questionar que as implicações que a nova política de ensino superior trouxe ao desenvolvimento do mercado universitário peruano. Este projeto teve como objetivo retratar a situação do sistema universitário no Peru antes da Lei N.º 30220 e destacar os potenciais resultados futuros a partir de diferentes pontos de vista. Foram realizadas análises estatísticas descritivas e uma avaliação institucional da universidade que nos permite contextualizar a Lei Universitária na sociedade peruana. O propósito da investigação foi justificar a necessidade de renovar a política universitária, diante da incapacidade das prévias instituições reguladoras e da vontade política do Estado frente à nova demanda social. Nesse sentido, foram avaliados os processos de implementação e as mudanças atuais para alertar sobre os inconvenientes e inconsistências que tornariam a reforma incompleta e dificilmente sustentável no sistema universitário. Observou-se uma mudança substancial na vontade política do Estado em relação à universidade, que passou de negligente à liderança na supervisão do sector. Essa política prioriza a qualidade, porém desvaloriza outros aspetos, como financiamento ou acesso. O futuro da universidade no Peru ainda não é evidente, no entanto, o sector privado é provavelmente, mais uma vez, o ator mais importante.
Since a few years ago, important changes aiming to improve the university education system in Peru have occurred. One of the most relevant fact of this process was the approval of the University Law n°30220, and with it, the creation of the National Superintendence of Higher University Education (SUNEDU in Spanish) in 2014. The main objective is "the continuous improvement of the educational quality of university institutions" through the licensing of all institutions, is it is intended to be achieved. Even though, at first, the activities carried out by SUNEDU were questioned by certain sectors, five years later, with the preview of the first results, the perception of the stakeholders changed, and the public opinion about SUNEDU is now quite favourable. However, it is worth asking what implications the new policy on higher education has brought to the development of the Peruvian university market. This research aimed to extensively portray the situation of the university system in Peru before the Law 30220 and to highlight future outcomes from different perspectives. We carry out statistical analysis and an institutional evaluation of the university, allowing us to place the Law 30220 into the Peruvian society context. The purpose of the investigation was to justify the need of renew the university policy by showing the inability of previous regulatory institutions along with the political will of the State about the new social demand. In that sense, the implementation processes and the current changes in higher education were evaluated. Additionally, we highlighted some inconveniences and inconsistencies that would make this reform incomplete and hardly sustainable for the university system. A substantial change in the political will of the State towards the university was observed, going from a neglecting role to a leading one in the supervision of the sector. This new policy prioritizes quality and disregards other aspects such as finance issues or access to the university. The future of the university has not yet been written; however, the private sector is probably, once again, the most important actor in Peru.
Desde hace algunos años se viene realizando importantes cambios que buscan mejorar el sistema de educación universitaria en el Perú. Posiblemente el hecho más importante de este proceso es la Ley Universitaria N.º 30220 y con ella la creación de la Superintendencia Nacional de Educación Superior Universitaria (SUNEDU) en 2014. El objetivo es “el mejoramiento continuo de la calidad educativa de las instituciones universitarias” y se pretende alcanzar con el licenciamiento de todas las instituciones. Aun cuando en un primer momento la SUNEDU tuvo algunos cuestionamientos por parte de ciertos sectores, cinco años después de su creación y ya vistos los primeros resultados, la percepción de la opinión pública sobre la SUNEDU es bastante favorable. Sin embargo, cabe preguntar qué implicaciones ha traído la nueva política de educación superior para el desarrollo del mercado universitario. El presente documento describe la situación del sistema universitario antes de la Ley 30220 desde la estadística y también desde un análisis institucional de la universidad, que nos permita ubicarla en el contexto de la sociedad peruana con el propósito de justificar mediante la incapacidad de los entes reguladores previos, la voluntad política del Estado y la nueva demanda social la necesidad de renovar la política universitaria. Asimismo, examina los procesos iniciados y los cambios realizados hasta hoy, para advertir sobre los inconvenientes y desconsideraciones que harían a la reforma incompleta y difícilmente sostenible en el sistema universitario. Se observó un cambio sustancial en la voluntad política del Estado frente a la universidad, que pasa del desentendimiento al protagonismo de la fiscalización del sector. Esta política prioriza la Calidad y desconsidera otros aspectos como el financiamiento o el acceso a la universidad. El futuro de la universidad aún no termina de escribirse, sin embargo, probablemente sea una vez más el sector privado el actor más importante.

Over the past ten years, the State of California has realized environmental, economic, and social benefits through the increased deployment of solar photovoltaic technologies. However, utility-scale and residential-scale solar projects also pose a variety of problems, which have created barriers to their broader adoption. Community solar projects offer a model for solar development that can reduce the problems associated with utility-scale and residential-scale projects, while simultaneously preserving the benefits of each. This thesis examines the problems associated with current solar projects and proposes policy to support the community solar project model in California.

While Shia organizations, such as Hezbollah, pioneered the use of suicide bombings as "self-sacrifice operations" in the early 1980s, Shia groups have abandoned the practice since the 1990s, while Sunni organizations like Hamas and Al Qaeda in Iraq have not only exponentially increased the use of "martyrdom operations," they have expanded the target set to include civilians and now primarily target other Muslims. By first analyzing the historical tradition of martyrdom within Shia and Sunni Islam and then conducting case studies on Shia Hezbollah, Sunni Hamas and Sunni Al Qaeda in Iraq, this thesis seeks to discover whether there are historical factors that can help explain the differences in the contemporary expression of martyrdom between the two main sects of Islam. The main findings of this thesis are that the less prominent role martyrs play in the Sunni tradition, contrasted against the consistent 1,400-year history of venerating prominent Shia martyrs, allowed Sunni extremists to essentially rewrite their history and reinvent "martyrdom" to suit their own contemporary political goals. Additionally, the research reveals that in the vacuum of restraint from the Sunni theologians, Sunni Salafi-Jihadist organizations like Al Qaeda have pushed the boundaries of the religious justification that supports martyrdom operations so far that they are now primarily killing Muslims and non-combatants--a practice that is not only forbidden, but one of the greatest sins in Islam.

This thesis is a study of the oldest Islamic chronological history still extant: the Tārīkh (‘Chronicle’) of the Basran ḥadīth scholar and historian Khalīfa b. Khayyāṭ al-ʿUṣfurī (d. 240/854), which covers the political and administrative history of the Muslim polity between year 1/622 and 232/847. Despite its early date, Khalīfa’s Tārīkh has received little attention in modern scholarship and its value for understanding the development of early Islamic historiography has generally been disregarded. The purpose of this study is, therefore, to reassess the Tārīkh by analysing both the text and its context of compilation. After outlining Khalīfa’s biography (Ch. 1) and his social and intellectual context (Ch. 2), the thesis examines different aspects of Khalīfa’s Tārīkh in comparison to the wider Islamic historical tradition: his sources (Ch. 3), methods (Ch. 4), arrangement of material (Ch. 5) and narrative treatment of key themes in the early tradition (Chs. 6–7). The thesis thereby provides an in-depth study of one of the earliest Muslim historians and his methods of compilation, which is important for both the study of Islamic historiography and the usage of such sources in historical scholarship on early Islam. It is argued that Khalīfa’s role as a ḥadīth scholar and his early Sunnī outlook is reflected throughout the content of the Tārīkh. This is particularly evident in Khalīfa’s selection of sources, which consist of mainly Basran transmitters including numerous major ḥadīth scholars, and in his narration of controversial events such as the early civil wars, which displays an early Sunnī perspective. It is also suggested that Khalīfa’s particular selection and arrangement of material was largely determined by his aim to compile a critical and concise chronology of the political and administrative history of the Muslim community. Moreover, the thesis shows that, while the Tārīkh differs from many other early histories, it bears some resemblance to other chronographies compiled by early ḥadīth scholars—such as the works of al-Fasawī (d. 277/890), Ibn Abī Khaythama (d. 279/892) and Abū Zurʿa al- Dimashqī (d. 282/895) as well as the sections on post-Prophetic history in some ḥadīth collections such as Ibn Abī Shayba’s (d. 235/849) Muṣannaf. By comparing Khalīfa’s Tārīkh with these works, the thesis draws attention to this type of historical writing among some early ḥadīth scholars, which has so far been neglected in modern studies on early Islamic historiography.

Dans ce commentaire le terme coranique "coutume (s) de dieu" (sunna sunan allah) recoit un sens nouveau pour exprimer l'accord entre l'islam et le monde moderne. Il devient l'expression de la structure stable, intrinseque et ontologique que dieu donne a l'etre cree (a la fitra) et qui regle tous les domaines de la vie (physique, psychologie, sociologie et meme la recompense divine). Cette structure des sunan qui fonde l'ordre de la causalite, doit etre respectee et observee si l'on veut respecter le dieu unique. C'est pour y avoir man- que que les musulmans se sont trouves en retard dans la genese du monde moderne. Par contre les europeens, apres avoir decouvert les sunan, tombent dans l'autodestruction pour avoir oublie que cette structure se fonde radicalement dans l'acte englobant et absolu de dieu qui donne a cette structure son sens. Dans cette perspective plusieurs termes traditionnels de la theolo- gie musulmane trouvent leur sens reinterprete, notamment ceux de "mesu- re" (gadar) - qui devient l'aspect mesure et determine de la structure dont sunna exprime la regularite - et d'"acquisition" (kasb) - qui de- vient l'expression de l'action humaine autonome et responsable. The koranic commentary, written by muhammad rasid rida - initially on the basis of the lessons given by muhammad abduh - and known, be- cause of the name of the review in which it was first published, as the manar commentary, is one of the principal expressions of the islamic reformist movement. In this commentary the koranic term "custom(s) of god" (sunna sunan allah) takes on a new meaning in order to express the concordance between islam and modernity. It becomes the expression of the stable, intrinsic and ontological structure given by god to creation and ruling all fields of existence. That structure of the su- nan, the basis of the order of causality, has to be respected if one is willing to respect god. It was the muslims' failure to observe it that caused their backwardness. On the other hand the europeans, though having discovered the sunan, are falling into self-destruction by their forgetting that that structure is founded radically in the absolute act of god, who gives it meaning. In this context several terms of traditional muslim theology find their meaning subjected to reinterpretation, such as "measure" (gadar) - which becomes the measured and determined aspect of the structure whose regularity is expressed by sunna - and "acquisition" (kasb) - which becomes responsable human action. The commentary attempts to transcend all forms of contradiction or juxtaposition, even when a special place has to be attributed to god, that being the case for miracles and pro- digies, and for the attitude of confident surrender to god. If the discourse on the sunan of god became the middle term for a theory of human act combining religion and active engagement, the au- thors did not grasp the actual nature of the rationality which is at the very basis of the modern world. That is the source of the ambiguity well brought out by the evolution of the posterity of the reformists

Abstract:
In modernity traditional Islam has been challenged by a separation from various spheres of life, first under colonial powers and then independent nation-states. Traditional patterns of religious authority have further been undermined by individualism and the pluralisation of sources of knowledge in an age of new media. In the context of migration to the West, some scholars have argued that modern Muslim identities are becoming more secularised and individualised. However, in a local case study of Sunni religiosity in the UK, I show that, overall, this is not the case in the city of Leeds. In Chapter 1 I examine a three-part typology of Muslim responses to modernity dwelling on the orientations of reformists and (neo)traditionalists. In Chapter 2 I outline the migrations which have seen South Asian and Middle Eastern Muslims and their associated (neo)traditional and reformist movements established in the UK. Chapter 3 offers an account of the qualitative methodology I used in researching the views of around 40 imams, scholars and members of the congregation across four different Sunni mosques in Leeds. In Chapter 4 I locate these mosques and their history, unpacking key ethnic and religious differences. Chapter 5 underlines the difficulty of establishing Muslim unity through case studies of the celebration of ‘Eid al-Adha and the work of Leeds Muslim Forum. Chapter 6 argues that although not always the most expert in terms of authority, mosque imams are the key providers of religious advice to their congregations. Chapter 7 suggests that while most Sunni Muslims and religious experts in Leeds assert the importance of following a school of law (taqlid), they also affirm the desirability of use of ijtihad (independent reasoning) by a mujtahid (one qualified to exercise ijtihad) in the specific contexts of the UK. Overall, Sunni Muslim religiosity in Leeds remains deeply influenced by tradition, something reinforced by ethnicity and sect.

Abstract:

Detta examensarbete behandlar området stålfiberarmerad betongplatta. Istället för att använda en traditionellt armerad betongplatta undersöks möjligheten att använda sig av den alternativa tekniken stålfiberarmerad betong. Stålfiberarmerad betong består av vanlig betong med iblandning av stålfibrer vilket ger den unika egenskaper.

Rapporten utgörs av en jämförelse mellan en traditionellt armerad betongplatta gentemot en stålfiberarmerad betongplatta. I jämförelsen används ett referensobjekt som är den nya Konsumbutiken i Sunne där traditionell grundläggning med nätarmering använts. Detta alternativ jämförs med en teoretisk framtagen konstruktionslösning där fiberbetong används. Studien behandlar aspekterna dimensionering, genomförande, tid, ekonomi och arbetsmiljö. Målet med studien är att se vilket grundläggningsalternativ som hade varit mest fördelaktigt.

Resultatet som framkommit i denna studie visar att grundläggningsalternativet stålfiberarmerad platta på mark hade varit ett bättre alternativ i det givna fallet. Dimensioneringsmässigt leder den nya lösningen till en slankare konstruktion, enklare genomförande och bättre arbetsmiljö på grund av minskat armeringsarbete. Ekonomiskt blir det stålfiberarmerade alternativet billigare och även tidsbesparande.


This report manages the topic of steel fiber reinforced concrete slab. In this study we examine the possibility to use steel fiber reinforced concrete instead of traditional mesh reinforced concrete for the foundation. Steel fiber reinforced concrete consists of ordinary concrete mixed with steel fibers, which give it unique characteristics.

The report is based on a comparison between a traditional mesh reinforced concrete slab and a steel fiber reinforced concrete slab. A reference object has been selected for the study. The reference object is a new supermarket named Konsum in Sunne, Sweden, where traditional mesh reinforced concrete has been used for the foundation. This foundation is compared to a theoretically produced steel fiber reinforced concrete slab. The comparison is based on the following subjects: design, implementation, time, economy and working conditions. The purpose of this report is to determine which alternative is the most advantageous.

The result of this study shows that the steel fiber reinforced concrete alternative would have been a better solution for this foundation. The steel fiber reinforced alternative leads to a slimmer construction, easier implementation and better working conditions due to a smaller amount of reinforcing work. Financially, the steel fiber reinforced alternative is cheaper and leads to a shorter construction time.
