Abstract:

La vittoria sull'Austria nella prima guerra mondiale dava all'Italia insieme al sospirato confine al Brennero l'acquisto del Sudtirolo. Fra i problemi posti dal nuovo assetto ci fu dal lato ecclesiastico la situazione della diocesi a popolazione tedesca di Bressanone, una delle due diocesi, insieme a Trento, insistenti sul nuovo territorio italiano. La diocesi si trovava vacante da prima della fine della guerra ed era molto estesa, comprendeva infatti anche il Tirolo settentrionale, che sarebbe rimasto fuori dal nuovo confine italiano. Un vescovo, mons. Waitz, era stato in realtà nominato dall'imperatore d'Austria alla vigilia dell'abdicazione. Alle autori-tà italiane come alla S. Sede però era chiara la necessità di riconsiderare tanto la candidatura di Waitz, dal profilo politico troppo esposto in senso antitaliano, quanto di segnare nuovi confini alla diocesi, per separare definitivamente la parte austriaca dalla parte italiana. A questi intenti si opponevano la volontà di clero e popolazione locale di mantenere unita la diocesi in funzione di una futura riunione all'Austria e gli sforzi di Waitz per mantenere la propria candidatura. Il saggio rico-struisce analiticamente le tappe della laboriosa decisione attraverso il dialogo fra gerarchie cattoliche locali e romane e autorità italiane militari e civili sulla base di una documentazione archivistica edita e inedita.

Abstract:

This paper deals with computational linguistic tools and methods for the extraction of raw material for terminological glossaries from machine-readable text. We concentrate on monolingual German term candidates, and only briefly hint at tools and procedures for the creation of bilingual glossaries. Most of the examples we use to illustrate methods and results of our work come from technical texts provided by the translation services of Daimler Chrysler AG1 and from legal texts made available by the European Academy in Bozen, Sudtirol. The Academy is working on translations of legal documents for bilingual South Tyrol, and, in this context, on the creation, upgrading, and maintenance of terminological resources.

RiassuntoLa presenza dell’Ordine Teutonico nel Sudtirolo si caratterizza, fin dai suoi esordi (1202), per l’attivita pastorale e ospedaliera svolta dai suoi membri nella regione. Sia per il cospicuo numero di chiese e cappelle precocemente acquisite dall’Ordine, sia per la notevole presenza di fratelli sacerdoti, il baliato di Bolzano e stato a buon diritto definito Pfaffenballei. Nel contributo, si e cercato di ricostruire, sulla base di fonti edite e inedite, la cura animarum presso le pievi donate ai Teutonici durante il secolo XIII (Longomoso/Lengmoos, Vipiteno/Sterzing, Silandro/Schlanders, S. Leonardo di Passiria/St. Leonhard in Passeier, Vanga/Wangen). L’inserimento dell’Ordine nella rete parrocchiale delle diocesi di Trento, Bressanone e Coira avrebbe potuto causare attriti con i vescovi; tuttavia, in quell’aspra contrapposizione fra ordinari diocesani e poteri locali che contraddistingue la storia del Sudtirolo nel secolo XIII e oltre, i Teutonici non furono pregiudizialmente avversati dai vescovi, come ritiene una ben rappresentata tradizione storiografica, bensi di volta in volta sostenuti o contrastati da essi a seconda delle convenienze del momento.
