Abstract:
One of the main parts of a country's tourism communication is the tourism destination brand. The Indonesian tourism destination brand itself has changed several times since 2008. At that time, the brand used was Visit Indonesia 2008, then the following year it changed to Visit Indonesia 2009. Then in 2010 until 2021, Indonesia uses two brands at once, namely Wonderful Indonesia and Pesona Indonesia, even though the Indonesian tourism destination in question is one, namely Indonesia's destination. In fact, the use of these two brands has not been able to show a positive performance in bringing in tourists or making Indonesian tourism destinations famous and remembered by potential tourists. Therefore, we need a study on the existence of this dual brand, which is the purpose of this scientific article The subject of this study is the Indonesian tourism brand, Wonderful Indonesia, while the object studied is the duality in the use of the brand. This study was made using qualitative methods, specifically by using literature review. The method of data collection is documentation. This study uses a narrative method in its discussion. From this study, it can be explained that the brand personality of the Indonesian tourism destination brand is still weak. This is mainly due to the dual brands Wonderful Indonesia and Pesona Indonesia which have two different meanings and have not been able to represent tourist destination areas in Indonesia. In the end, this makes brand awareness, brand equity and brand loyalty are not formed. Therefore, it would be better if only one tourism destination brand can be formulated. The brand should represent various tourist destination areas and can be used consistently for a long time.

Abstract:
The historic event of the Korean Youth Independent Movement during the Japanese colonial period in Indonesia, which involved soldiers from Korea, has become a point of interest for Indonesian people, especially Indonesian millennials and historians. Since Indonesia’s independence from the Japanese colonial rule in 1945, Indonesia has gone through various difficulties and faced political crises, just as Korea has. This article discusses the social and cultural factors, particularly Indonesian millennials’ activities and interests which influence the study of Korean history in Indonesia. At several points, this research shows that the millennials’ mastery of the Korean language is important for the development of Korean historical studies in Indonesia. Applying the desk review method, this research finds a great interest among Indonesian millennials to study Korean history. One of the encouraging factors is the role of Korean history reviewers who bring Korean historical sources closer to Indonesian audiences through seminars that are intended for not only scholars, but also other millennials and the general public. The growth of Korean language users should be an important instrument to further develop not only the study of Korean history, but also diplomatic relations between Korea and Indonesia.

The data were collected through a written Discourse Completion Task (DCT) which consists of eight situational settings. The results showed some similarities and differences between Australian English and Indonesian speakers on paying compliment. The similarities included the fact that ability was the most frequently preferred topic for both Indonesians and Australians, both Indonesians and Australians were more likely to give explicit verbal compliment, and compliments occurred mostly from males to females. The differences were: firstly, Australians used implicit compliment as their second preference, while Indonesians used ‘no-response’ type. Secondly, Australian females gave more explicit verbal compliment than the males did, whereas Indonesian females and males gave almost equal amount of explicit verbal compliment. Thirdly, the second most frequent positive semantic carriers were adverbs in Indonesian, but verbs in Australian English. The rights to privacy as an individual fundamental right should be protected. Ironically, this right is deliberately delivered publicly in social media. And Facebook, the largest social media, keep more than 2.2 billion privacies data in the whole world. In early April 2018, one million personal data of Indonesian Facebook users was stolen by other parties. Mark Zuckerberg, as a founder and CEO, acknowledged that the Facebook data consisting of customer personal data had been stolen and used by other parties. It is one of the weaknesses and negligence of Facebook that needs to be addressed in the future. Indonesia government issued a warning letter to Facebook and required formal explanation concerning those recent cases. However, the Government's seriousness on the protection of personal data of its citizens is still questioned. How Indonesian regulations cover private data protection on their citizen and what steps should be taken to protect personal data in Indonesia? By using the International instrument and Indonesia legal instruments on the protection of privacy right, this article would give the answer what government Indonesian should do to undertake this situation. The research found that the regulation of privacy protection is sufficient yet the government has no determination to take account seriously on protecting the privacy right, and no sanction to the parties was involved. Abstract:
Abstract The sharing economy platform is a concept that is not yet stable and will continue to grow. This is evidenced by the various types of sharing economy platforms developed, especially in Indonesia. Many applications are made, but there are only a few applications that succeed in their business even reaching the Unicorn. They are Gojek, Traveloka, Tokopedia and Bukalapak. This study answers the question of how a typology of economic models sharing platforms in Indonesia is successful by taking the four unicorns as objects. The basic model of sharing economy used consists of four models taking into account the level of company control over participants and the level of competition between participants. Typology was developed through analysis of qualitative data obtained by observing the 4 Unicorn application which became the most successful platform in terms of user acquisition, active users, and transaction volumes. The theoretical contribution of this research is the sharing economic categorization model in Indonesia, considering that there is no research that presents the generic typology as intended. While the practical contribution is to provide a reference for beginners and investors about sharing economic models that are relevant for the Indonesian market. From the results of this study, we will know the typology model of a sharing economic platform that is developing in Indonesia, so it is expected to be a reference for business development towards the industrial revolution era 4.0. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of the non-performing financing (NPF), financing to deposit ratio (FDR), operational efficiency ratio (OER), and firm size (SIZE) on return on assets (ROA). The object of the research is the Islamic bank in Indonesia and the Islamic bank in Malaysia for the period of 2010–2015. Another aim of this research is to determine if there are differences in the impact of FDR, NPF, OER and firm size on ROA between the Islamic bank in Indonesia and the Islamic bank in Malaysia. The findings show that not all studied independent variables affect the ROA of the Indonesian Islamic Bank and the Malaysian Islamic bank. OER has a negative and significant effect on the Indonesian Islamic Bank’s ROA, while FDR and size have a positive and significant influence on the Indonesian Islamic Bank’s ROA. In the Islamic bank of Malaysia, NPF affects ROA positively, while OER affects ROA negatively. In the Indonesian Islamic bank, independent variables that influence ROA are FDR, OER, and SIZE. In Malaysian Islamic bank, only OER influences ROA significantly. Based on the Chow test, one can conclude that there is a significant difference between the Indonesian Islamic bank and the Malaysian Islamic bank. Regarding operational costs, banks should pay more attention to validation of the costs to be incurred, so there is no need to spend unnecessary costs.

Abstract:
This study aims to identify and describe: 1) the development of Arab-Indonesian and Indonesian-Arab literacy in Indonesia, 2) the Arab-Indonesian and Indonesian-Arab literacy system in Indonesia. This study is a historical study, with a qualitative approach. The data collection in this study uses the technique of documentation. The data analysis used in this study used qualitative descriptive analysis, with the focus of the study being the development of Arab-Indonesian and Indonesian-Arab studies in Indonesia. The results of this study indicated that the development of lexicography Arabic-Indonesian and Indonesian-Arabic in Indonesia can be summed up as follows: First, a) The initial phase of lexicography Arabic-Indonesian begins with the rise of Arab-Malay dictionary Idris Al-Marbawi in 1927. The dictionary is the beginning of the development of the Indonesian-Indonesian dictionary in Indonesia. Once the presence of Arab-Malay dictionary Idris Al-Marbawi then comes the Arabic-Indonesian dictionary compiled by Mahmud Yunus in 1972. The initial phase-Indonesian Arabic lexicography is followed by a phase of development of lexicography Arabic-Indonesian dictionary Al-Munawwir in 1984, then Dictionary Contemporary Arabic-Indonesian 1996, Al-Bisri Arabic-Indonesian Dictionary 1999, Al-Mutahar Arabic-Indonesian Dictionary, Al-Azhar Arabic-Indonesian Dictionary 2009, Al-Kamal Arabic-Indonesian Dictionary 2010. (b) Early phases of Indonesian-Arab practice in The introduction of the Indonesian-Arabic Dictionary was compiled by Asad M. Kalali in 1981. It is the forerunner of the Indonesian-Arabic dictionary in Indonesia. The early phases of the Arabic-Indonesian dictionary continue with the developmental phase of the Indonesian-Arabic dictionary of the Indonesian-Arabic Al-Bisri dictionary in 1999, the Indonesian-Arabic dictionary Al-Munawwir in 2007, the Indonesian-Arabic dictionary of Al-Mufied in 2010, the Indonesian- Arabic KABA 2013. Second, the Arabic-Indonesian and Indonesian-Arabic system of learning is still dominated by a special alphabetical system, where users (users) of these dictionaries need to know the basic grammar of a word, of course this system is very difficult to use for them who is not yet familiar with sharf and narcissism. But in the development phase there is also an Arabic-Indonesian dictionary using the articulation system, where the user (user) does not have to change or find the word pattern they want to look for, but instead refers to the first letter of a word. Of course, this system makes it easy for non-Arabs to find a dictionary.

Abstract:
There has been a wide presumption that hadith literature authored by Indonesian Muslim scholars is simple and static. This article challenges this view. It examines Miṣbāḥ al-Ẓulām, a commentary of Bulūg al-Marām, by Muhajirin Amsar al-Dari to show the dynamic development of the study on ikhtilāf al-ḥadīth (disputes over hadith). Grounded in the hermeneutic approach, this article argues that the development of hadith studies in Indonesia from time to time is not as simple as the general presupposition entails. This article shows that the development of hadith studies is raised following the provision of studies on ikhtilāf al-ḥadīth. The tradition of writing hadith in Indonesia began in the 17th century and, as a result, a number of hadith literatures have been produced by Indonesian Muslim scholars. This development challenges some scholars’ perception that the studies of hadith in Indonesia remain simple and the science of hadith in the country is hardly available.

In the so-called Reform Era, Indonesia entered a new phase of democratization which brings democracy towards newspapers and other media. Compared to the New Order Era, Indonesian newspapers currently have more variation in term of content, especially for entertainment. After employing a content analysis, Indonesian newspapers, which are Kompas and Jawa Pos, through their cross-cultural news in the entertainment section, are proved become more open to the other cultures. They have transformed from dominantly homogeneous -in 2004- to hybrid -in 2014- within glocalization, a perspective that can see micro-sociological phenomenon. This notion proves that glocalization does proceed, rather than keep constant, depending on the different cultural systems and structures, as well as the degree of local perception of glocalization.</p><p><br />Keywords: Glocalization, globalization, pop culture, Indonesia Reform Era, crossculture</p>

This research aims to analyze the existence of the Indonesian verbs “berkata”, “bersabda”, and “berfirman” (to say, to state). The method of document study was executed to provide the data, namely the translation of the Holy Quran (2004). Although it is unfair to compare the language of Indonesia and the language of Java from a speech level point of view, this paper is simply meant to trace how the words of the language of Indonesia show its speech levels in its own way. The Indonesian verbs “berfirman”, “bersabda”, and “berkata” are used to describe the activity of ‘saying’ or ‘speaking’ of God (berfirman), the Prophet Muhammad (bersabda), and people in common (berkata). It is concluded here that there are speech levels in the language of Indonesia, but they are not to compare with the speech levels like in the language of Java, Bali, Madura, Sunda, and or Sasak of Lombok.

Indonesia is a large country with many classical problems. One of the problems still faced by Indonesia is the disparity between Western Indonesia and Eastern Indonesia. Western Indonesia is synonymous with developed and prosperous regions, while East Indonesia is identical to the developing region, the area that left behind. The Indonesian government is implementing various programs to reduce disparities between the two regions. This study aims to map the most striking aspects of the disparity between Western and Eastern Indonesia using discriminant analysis. The variables used are poverty, gini ratio, unemployment, HDI, GEI, GDI, economic growth, sanitation access, and IDI. The results showed that the most distinguishing aspects of the two regions were poverty, unemployment, GDI, and access to sanitation. Thus, it is expected that the policies implemented by the government can prioritize these issues to accelerate equity throughout Indonesia.

Director and Auditor are explained in the Korean Company Law, but it is absent in the Indonesian Company Law. Hence, this research aims to discuss the comparison between representatives of directors of a company and auditors between South Korean and Indonesian companies. It adopted normative legal approach that utilized a qualitative method in analyzing data and using secondary data. All secondary data was collected from library research. It also adopted a juridical qualitative approach to analyze the secondary data. It found that the exact position of auditors in Indonesia is very different from those in South Korea. South Korean law is foreign to the term “commissioners”, it has an auditor instead. Indonesia has both director and commissioner as the boards in a company. Auditor in Indonesia is an external party that must be hired by the company.

Abstract:
Indonesia’s democracy has taken huge leaps since the starting of reformation in 1998, compared to Soeharto’s authoritarian ruling (New Order) from 1966 to May 21, 1998, and during Soekarno’s ruling from the country’s independence in 1945 until 1966. One year after Soeharto’s fall on May 21, 1998, Indonesia held its first democratically election on June 7, 1999. The election was contested by 48 political parties. In 2004, Indonesia for the first time held its direct presidential election. One year later, Indonesia held its first regional elections, where voters directly elect governors, regents and mayors. The question is on whether the current democratic practices have been in accordance with all democratic values as intended by Pancasila ideology as the basic foundation for Indonesia in all political actions? Pancasila: 1). The belief in one God, 2). Just and civilized humanity, 3). Indonesian unity, 4. Democracy under the wise guidance of representative consultation, 5). Social justice for all peoples of Indonesia. The country’s founding fathers formulated the understanding of democracy based the traditional practices of democracy at the grassroots level which have lasted for centuries throughout the country. However what happens now is that Indonesia just imitated the posture of Western/European democracy. It turns out that Indonesian democracy is very fragile because it does not have a tradition of democracy that grows independently from Indonesia's fertile soil itself, but democracy is taken from other cultures that have grown and developed in Europe and then transplanted in Indonesian soil. Therefore, the format for direct elections in Indonesia must be reviewed for improvement.

Abstract:
This paper aims to analyze how the Indonesian government’s efforts to fulfill the health rights of refugees or asylum seekers who were in Indonesia when the COVID-19 case hit the world. Pekanbaru was chosen as a case study because it has broken the record for the highest number of additional COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. This condition is exacerbated by the fact that, Pekanbaru is also one of the cities with the highest number of receiving refugees in Indonesia. Using qualitative research methods, this paper argues that the acceptance of refugees by Indonesia on humanitarian principles is in line with the identity that has been shown as defenders of human rights. To maintain this identity, in terms of handling COVID-19 with refugees, it would be better if Indonesia adapted policies that were adaptive and sensitive to minority groups, in this case asylum seekers in Pekanbaru.

Abstract:
<p><em>Eradication of Corruption in Indonesia in 2015-2019 in a row did not experience significant progress. In contrast to Indonesia, in 2019 Singapore actually occupied the number two position for the Asia Pacific region and number one in the ASEAN region in eradicating corruption. How to compare the eradication of corruption in the two countries? This article will explore the eradication of corruption in Singapore and Indonesia with a Good Governance approach and analysis of data reading from the two countries’ corruption eradication institutions. The results show that there are three key pillars in eradicating corruption in Singapore which consist of political will, independence, and effectiveness of corruption eradication institutions, and the application of good administrative services. The results of the next study explained that the eradication of corruption in the 2015-2019 period in Indonesia was deemed not optimal due to three things: political patronym and the power of investors that hindered the eradication of corruption, the ineffectiveness of taking action against the KPK, and the vision of Jokowi’s leadership that was too focused on the development and economic growth but did not pay attention to it. bureaucratic reform agenda. The benefits of this paper are primarily intended to assist Indonesia in optimizing the eradication of corruption by learning from Singapore. It is hoped that good and corruption-free governance can be implemented in Indonesia.</em></p><p><strong>Bahasa Indonesia Abstrak: </strong>Pemberantasan Korupsi di Indonesia pada 2015-2019 secara berturut-turut tidak mengalami kemajuan yang berarti. Abstract:
One of the institutions where ulama perform ijtihad with Islamic legal thought products in the form of fatwas is the Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI). Of the many fatwas that have been issued by the MUI, there are a number of fatwas that are formulated such as the fatwa of the pilgrimage and umrah pilgrimage, the initial determination of Ramadan, Shawwal, Zulhijjah, qibla direction, abortion, donation of social funds with prizes (SDSB), and the use of meningitis vaccines for hajj and umrah pilgrims. MUI reformulates the fatwa due to socio-cultural changes in the community and advances in science and technology. MUI is very concerned about the condition of social, cultural and political changes in society and the progress of science and technology as a material consideration in formulating fatwa. Such a thing is very relevant to the process of renewing Islamic law in Indonesia which has been going on since the 70s until now.
